While results would suggest it’s not quite the Warriors year, their attendance rates say otherwise.

They’ve officially sold out their entire 2024 season, the first club in NRL history to do so.

Warriors CEO Cameron George told Mike Hosking that it’s a fantastic effort from their fanbase and members, and they’re very appreciative of the privilege of the situation they’re in.

He said that at the start of the year they decided to make an effort to be the best they can be in the New Zealand market, as trying to compare themselves to the Australian market is quite difficult.

“They all have different shapes and sizes of stadiums, but we just want to be the best in New Zealand and wanna be number one, and hopefully we’ve achieved that now.”

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Freshure up the back of the Tigers when we've got
news from the Warriors this morning that the club's officially
sold out their entire season. That makes them the first
team in our Eal history to do that. The Warrior's
chief executive, Cameron George, is what does Cameron, very good
morning to you morning. What's that actually mean when you've
sold out the season? Does that mean I can't get
a ticket for your remaining home games?

Speaker 2 (00:20):
That's right? Yeah, So we sold out yesterday officially for
the last two games. So I think at one stage
I was talking to guys had three tickets left and
they got snapped up there in front of us. So,
you know, it's a fantastic and effort by our fan
base and members and just very appreciative of the privilege
of the situation we're in.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
Yeah, it's an amazing story. What's the split do you
know between the season ticket holder and the walk Cup.

Speaker 3 (00:46):
So full season ticket holders, we have about eight thousand
a full season in total, seventeen thousand members across the
season with various membership packages, so we're selling about thirteen
to fourteen seats per game. Wow, and look, they've just
been they've been the highest ticket in town for a

(01:07):
long time now, and just a little proud of our
staff for the show and the event that they put on,
because that's been a big focus of ours and you know,
people just don't want to miss out and it's just
so good to see so many kids there and families there,
so hopefully they're fans for a long time.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
Do you have data on other clubs in the NRL?
Could they tell you where they're at and how far
ahead of the game you are in this department, Yeah, we.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
Do get benchmarkting data and all that sort of stuff
and that's all great, But Mike, at the start of
the year, you know, we just made a real effort
as a footag club here to be the best we
can be in the New Zealand market because trying to
compare ourselves to the Australian market and different states is
quite difficult. But they all had different shapes and sizes

(01:49):
and stadiums. But we just want to be the best
in New Zealand and want to be number one and
hopefully we've achieved that now and now we'll start to
compare to other markets in Australia and thel on sport.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
For the bottom line, I mean you've got to be
a pretty healthy looking club financially, mustn't you. I mean,
you can't do any more than sell out.

Speaker 3 (02:08):
Yeah, that's right, we can't do any more than that. Yeah.
So we've done well. We're reinvesting a lot of it
back in our footy programs with five teams now in
the NRLW coming on next year, so we're finding a
place to put the money. But look, it does do well,
but it seriously goes back in the club and that's
great for Mark Robinson, our owner. That's his commitment. He

(02:31):
just wants to see it reinvested and grow our brand
and our club.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
Congratulations on it, well done, Cameron George, CEO, sold out
only club in NURL history to sell out in the
entire season.

Speaker 3 (02:43):
