The 22-year-old charged with allegedly killing right-wing activist Charlie Kirk has made his first appearance in court.

Tyler Robinson is facing seven charges including aggravated murder, obstruction of justice, and witness tampering.

Kirk was fatally shot while speaking at an event at Utah Valley University last week.

US Correspondent Richard Arnold told Mike Hosking that prosecutors are seeking the death penalty, which is something Trump had called for.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Richard Arnold, Good morning, when's he land? Has he landed yet?

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Oh? Soon? He's just President Trump on his way to
the UK. So it won't be so long as Europe
is looking for help to support Ukraine, and as Britain's
PM is facing tough challenges as well. Trump, of course
not so popular in Britain, but flattery is a way
that many have found effective in dealing with him. So
Trump will make history as the first elected leader to
receive not one, but two state visits courtesy of the

(00:26):
royal family. He will stay over night at Windsor Castle
as the guest of Charles and Camilla, and will join
them in a carriage procession. But unlike the one arranged
for Frenchlea to mccron this year, it will not be
through the streets of Windsor, but on the private royal estate,
so away from any protesters. Right there will be thirteen
hundred military personnel and one hundred and twenty horses taking part,

(00:47):
with Hurricans noting that Trump will get more horses than
Macron did. They're counting seriously. Trump leaves behind the chaotic
aftermath of the murder of Trump supported Charlie Kirk as
you've been noting he's accused assassin now being charged to
Utah's Jeff Gray, charging twenty two year old Hyler Robinson
with seven counts, including abravated murder. You've listed them just

(01:10):
moments ago, along with various charges of obstruction and witness tampering,
where the accused killer is charged with trying to get
his roommate to delete potentially incriminating texts.

Speaker 3 (01:19):
Grace is also I am filing a notice of intent
to seek the death penalty. I do not take this
decision lightly, and it is a decision I have made independently.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
That, of course, is something that Trump had called for.
The case also was a focus of a rowdy Capitol
Hill hearing a short time ago featuring the FBI director
Cash Patel, who was grilled over the Kirk investigation and
he's purge of top FBI officials that brought well lots
of heated exchanges. That's pretty much what the lawmakers do
these days. They shouted at each other, including this exchange

(01:51):
with Democratic Senator Corey Booker.

Speaker 4 (01:53):
I don't think you're fitting on the bureau. But here's
the thing, mister Patel, I think you're not going to
be around long. I think this might be your last
oversight hearing it's my time, not yours. My god, my god.
If you want to talk about biding this country, it is.
I follow you on your social media post.

Speaker 3 (02:11):
Time you.

Speaker 4 (02:15):
Ever try all you.

Speaker 2 (02:16):

Speaker 4 (02:19):
Time for one, You're a time.

Speaker 2 (02:22):

as he left the White House, announced a fifteen billion
US dollar deformation suit against The New York Times Now
for allegedly disparaging his reputation as political candidate and businessman
than Trump slam Jonathan cow who was with American ABC,
as he asked this question, and.

Speaker 5 (02:41):
What do you think camp Bond is saying she's going
to go after a hate speech?

Speaker 3 (02:45):
Is that?

Speaker 4 (02:45):
I mean prot people out of your ally say hate
speech is free speech.

Speaker 5 (02:48):
You should probably go after people like you because you
treat me so unfairly, A tay, Do you have a
light of hate in your heart?

Speaker 2 (02:54):
Trump saying he should probably go up to people like
the network host. Then he slammed Australian reporter John Lyons
with the Australian ABC, who asked about how much wealth
Trump has gained wild in office.

Speaker 5 (03:06):
Appropriate presidents as president.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
In office could be engaged in so much bit of activity.

Speaker 5 (03:12):
Well, I'm really not. My kids are running the business.

some critics arguing that could damage you with national curity.
