Property mangers have been asking potential renters for more information that they're legally allowed to request.
Consumer NZ has conducted a survey confirming that 6 percent of rental agents ask for bank statements, and 10 percent ask for cover letters and CV's in the application process.
With us here now is the General Manager of the Auckland Property Investors Association, Sarina Gibbon.
According to her, the percentage of people in the rental industry making these requests are in violation of privacy regulations.
