Speaker 1 (00:00):
Darcy water Grave Sports Talk coasters with me right now,
Hey dusk, Hello, Shawn Johnson's available?
Speaker 2 (00:04):
Is he? It looks like it. We'll find out when
the team comes out officially. But that's the rumor around
is that today, Yeah, it's today, it's it's team list
Tuesdays they say list, you'd say team naming Tuesday, because
they named the team and then the players that to
turn up on Saturday were nothing like because they don't
know who's ready available, what happens during training. So it's
a list the guys are going to pick from.
Speaker 1 (00:26):
Is it Sewan Johnson or to Mighty Martin, to Mighty Martin,
Mighty Martin, it is between them.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
Yeah, I think what would probably happen is that Seawan
Johnson will come back into the seventh position and I'll
push Tomty Martin out to the sixth position and that
will be it. This is interesting, this interestcussion. We're going
to have tonight around fame or form. So the guy
who's got the history and the star power, has done
all the money before, do you go straight back to
(00:53):
him or do you look at a guy to Marty Martin,
who is basically picked this team up't from artback. They've
been beating all these teams. They should have no right
to beat. Go well, you're actually the form half at
the moment, Sean, Maybe just sit over there for a
wee bit so we'll have this discussion. Soly fum winner
x back row. I seen from the like for the
Warriors in their heyday, way back when under Daniel Anderson
(01:16):
and joins us have we chat about which way they
should go and mind them. We'll ask the people out
there which way you're going why. I want to see
the response to Sean Johnson if he'll come back and go,
I saw what happened. That was great. I'm now going
to contribute.
Speaker 3 (01:29):
But he really needs to prove himself well I think it.
Speaker 2 (01:31):
It's also up against the Melbourne storms. So if they
get blown off the park is at his fault, I'd
say probably not.
Speaker 1 (01:37):
It's not.
Speaker 3 (01:37):
I mean it's ultimately we're not going to judge it
based on the scoreline. Are we to performance?
Speaker 2 (01:43):
Yea, what did you actually do? How did you provide?
But I'd say with the attitude within this side and
what they've gone through and what you hear from all
of them is that we want all of our teammates
to do well. We're all going to buy into this.
We're all having a crack to mighty. You have done great,
How can I help? It's about team, so we will
see their.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
Team because it's just a load of nonsense coming out
of your mouth right now.
Speaker 1 (02:04):
It's not about team. It's about earning your spot. This
is a head to head competition between two blokes.
Speaker 2 (02:09):
It is. But if you've got a competition between two
guys with respect, not nasty, is you're going to drive
the best out of everybody. It's like in my role, Okay,
I'm not a sportsman. I haven't been doing it like
I'm not a sportsman. But what I do is that
I've got lots of young guys coming through the industry.
It's some very talented men out there, very very talented guys.
(02:30):
And instead of me freaking out and trying to hide
and put them into corner and not forgive them any advice,
I want to give them all the advice I can
because they get better. But if they get better, I
get better. Drives steps and still don't want them to
take much means I have to be better those they will,
so it drives me up.
Speaker 3 (02:47):
I really liked your piece on ADHD in the Herald today.
Speaker 2 (02:50):
You would never have guessed, would you.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
No, that was obvious to all of us, but I
found it fascinating. So you have no appetite because the
pills they put you on kills your appetite.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
I never had an appetite previously, and this has made
it even worse or better, depending on which way you look.
Speaker 3 (03:06):
You just eat because you have to. Yes, I don't
salads that you spend hours crafting.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
Every day. It's been hours crafting. I chuck it on
a bawl and chomp it.
Speaker 3 (03:14):
You don't even enjoy that necessarily.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
It's okay. It tastes fine, you know it's it's it's
got vegetables, it's got So I.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
Read that and I got I got a package in
the mail to the book Julie. Julie sent me a
book so I can self diagnose my own ADHD.
Speaker 2 (03:30):
There you go, A Woman's Guide to a woman, A woman,
not a woman's not a woman.
Speaker 3 (03:34):
WOD you can borrow it after me.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
I've got help. I use them. But the thing around
here is that it's actually really positive. I've got it,
my lovely adhd. It's wonderful. Like we're all on various spectrums, right,
everyone's very different. All got the things we're juggling and
dealing with. You gotta find out what it is, how
you deal with do.
Speaker 3 (03:54):
You take on something?
Speaker 1 (03:55):
There?
Speaker 3 (03:56):
I got a little irritated by Tory Fano, the Wellington mayor,
coming out and revealing that she's got it in a
way almost to excuse how crap she is at being
a man.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
Does that irritate you? Yes? I understand everyone's going on
their different journeys. They're different paths, they've got different reasons.
But for me, the article in the Herald, I chose
to make it very positive and very uplifting. This is
not a crutch. This is not to go oh poor me,
I've got this is like, this is me and this
is great? How do I make it better? And that's
the attitude I think you've got to have for everything
(04:26):
you're involved, and even when you're lying in the gutter,
you can still look at the stars.
Speaker 3 (04:29):
Right, Oh my lord, here we go, Here we go here.
Speaker 1 (04:31):
End of the listen, Hey, thank you, Darcy, appreciate it.
