President Joe Biden and Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a 10-year security agreement on Thursday – stating it’s a milestone in relations between their countries,

G7 leaders have also agreed to a $50 billion USD loan to help Ukraine in its conflict. Interest earned on profits from Russia’s frozen central bank assets would be used as collateral.

US Correspondent Dan Mitchinson told Heather du Plessis-Allan “President Zelenskyy seemed optimistic that his country would retain support from the Biden administration – or any administration.”

Mitchinson said “Joe Biden makes the commitment right now, but if he’s not re-elected in November, can that that be fulfilled?”

for New Zealand business. Either I am the PI looking
for Tom. This is from Chris again, then not in
the bush that being looked after by friends and family,
which would explain, wouldn't that why all the pressia was
put on the community to try to flush them out? Chris,
thank you for that, appreciated, Dan Mitchison, US correspondence with
US Now Hey Dan, Hey, Heather. Okay, so the security

(00:23):
agreement on the g S even sidelines this is a
good one, isn't it?

Speaker 2 (00:26):
Well? I think so, I think so. I mean President
Zelensky appeared pretty optimistic that his country would retain the
support of the Biden administration or actually any administration, no
matter who the president is. I think that is going
to be kind of interesting because I think that is
a big butt here. I mean, you know, Joe Biden
makes the commitment right now, but if he's not re

(00:48):
elected in November, can that commitment be fulfilled? Will Donald
Trump change that if he gets into the White House?

Speaker 1 (00:56):
And what's Donald Trump saying?

Speaker 2 (00:59):
Not lot, but in the past he has said that
he doesn't think that this amount of money should be
spent over there, and while this group of seven leaders
reached the agreement to loan the money. And like you
said in World Wires, you know it's profits from all
these Russian investments. We know the relationship Donald Trump has
with Russia right now. So I think that's going to
play a play into this whole scenario if he gets

(01:22):
into the office in.

Speaker 1 (01:23):
Noment Hey, how does Maton go with the House Republicans.

Speaker 2 (01:27):
Well, you know, it's a cliche to say if I
was a fly on the wall, But if I was
a fly in the wall, I think this would have
been interesting. Today. It's like it was more of a
gripe session to tell you the truth and anything else.
This was the first time mister Trump had been back
to the Capitol campus area since he left office after
the riots in January of twenty twenty one, and he
held a meeting where he apparently just complained about everything

(01:48):
and anything, his legal challenges, he was attacking his critics,
he was attacking Taylor Swift so a House speaker, Nancy Pelosi,
and he warned of Republicans also not to be afraid
of of a number of hot button issues. At the
top of his list was abortion. He talked considerably about
Roe v. Wade, and it just seemed like there were

(02:10):
a number of moments where he went off topic and
it was just more of a get together with a
bunch of guys in a lounge, and it was a
formal meeting of GOP leaders.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
And there is hey on Elon Musk. How long is
he going to have to waite to get his hands
on the dollars?

Speaker 2 (02:25):
Well, that's that's a good question, because this is over
fifty I can't even say this fifty six billion dollar
pay package. And this was avoided by a judge a
few years back, but he won the backing of shareholders today.
In fact, he was pretty sure he was going to
get this and when it was announced in Austin, Texas,
the crowd cheered after the announcement. But the judge who

(02:46):
struck down the compensation earlier this year is likely going
to ask to rule again whether this vote is fair
under the state's business laws. And last week we had
a different shareholder here that was involved in another case.
He filed a new law suit arguing that the second
vote should be ruled invalid. So would he like to
get his hands on the money? Yeah? Does he need
it right now, he's probably doing okay. How long is

(03:08):
it going to take? I mean that's really going to
be up to the judge and how long it takes
for this judge to rule.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
I think very interesting stuff. Dan, Thanks for talking us
through an Enjoy your weekend, mate. This Dan Mitchison, US correspondent.
