Computer chip producer Nvidia is now the world's most valuable company - overtaking Apple and Microsoft.

Shares climbed 3.5 percent on Tuesday, making it worth $3.35 trillion (USD).

The surge is driven by optimism about its AI technology.

Sharesies co-founder, Leighton Roberts, says he can't predict whether it will fall as quickly as it's risen.

He says it's hard to judge, but believes a lot of excitement is still to come.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Here, who is this guy trying a kit? Of course
they're prioritizing the dollars above the country, Craig. Of course
they are. If Australia can have a warm up match
before the T twenty World Cup and we can't. I
think you know where the priority is. Like anyway, let's
tell let's deal with money. It is our priorities as well.
Right nineteen past five, the computer chip company in Video
has officially become the world's most valuable company. Shares climbed

(00:21):
three and a half percent overnight, taking its market capitalization
to get this three point three five trillion US dollars,
which means it's overtaken both Apple and Microsoft. Leighton Roberts
is the co founder of Shares. He's and with us. Now, hey,
Layton here, this is because of AI, isn't.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
It It is? That's absolutely what it's about.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
I mean, given that we're only at the start of AI,
you could argue the potential for this company must be big,
mustn't it.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
That's definitely what's been priced in at the moment. But
what's particularly interesting is the numbers seem to be reflecting
the price appreciation that we're seeing. So yeah, we'll be
superintendent was paid out over the next couple of years.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
Are you worried though about you know, like when you
get a big growth in a company like this, you
have to just whow and just check it out, and
you're worried about how quickly it's gone out because it's
gone from one one trillion to two trillion in just
nine months.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
Look, I've just seen ad option of a technology like
what's happened with they are as quickly as it has,
and also for it to return value to businesses as
quickly as it has. So it's very hard to judge,
and that's sort of up to people to do individually.
But from where I'm sitting, it's potentially a lot of
excitement still to come.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
If you were in charge of the super fund right
now they're stake and it has gone from just shy
of a billion to one point seventy five billion, would
you say sell, sell, sell sell while you're high.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
I'm pretty happy I don't have that pressure to come
this and I think that more important for that decision.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
Fair enough, Layton, thank you very much. Appreciated Layton Roberts
Cheeresy's co founder.
