The Super Rugby finals clash is tomorrow night at Eden Park – selling out hours after tickets went on sale.

A crowd of more than 44,000 is expected – with many coming up from Hamilton for the event.

Weekend Sport host Jason Pine told Heather du Plessis-Allan “I think Blues will win – they've got a lot stacked in their favour – it's a home game, they’ve had an extra day of rest.”

Pine said “They’ve got their inspirational skipper back – after a fortnight.”

He said “Having said all of that – The Chiefs are a good team, with more genuine gamebreakers – it could come down to moments.”

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Jason Pine Sports Talk coasters with me right now. Hey Piney, Hello,
Heather more accurately described as the weekend sport host because
that's the capacity we're talking to you in, because we've
got the weekend sport. Who's going to win the Super
Rugby Final tomorrow night?

Speaker 2 (00:11):
To Poney, I think Blues. I think the Blues will win,
So please everybody rush out and put your money on
the Chiefs. If my records anything to go by, I
think the Blues seem to have a lot stacked in
their favor. They're at home, got the extra day after
their semi final win, which was a lot easier than
the Chiefs went over the Hurricanes a night later. They've
got their inspirational skipper back somehow, were supposed to be

(00:32):
out for six to eight weeks. He's back after a
fortnight and it just seems as though they're all on
the same page, have been playing well and are well
coached and well drilled. Having said all of that, the
Chiefs are a good team too, and probably have more
genuine game breakers, to be honest, than the Blues do.
So it could come down to moments and who seizes
those moments and doesn't shy away from them. But I've

(00:55):
got the Blues winning it narrowly, I mean.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
And the thing about the thing that is in the
favor of the Chiefs is that they were here last year, right,
So they've got a bit of muscle memory here.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
Yep. They say you got to lose one to win one.
I don't know whether that's true. I suppose we'll find
out in about twenty six to twenty seven hours aside,
But you're right, yep, they've been here and done that.
But the Blues of course have as well. They were
there two years ago and lost to the Crusaders. So
at least we're going to have a new champion herew
I know, no red and black and no break dancing
after the final whistle, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (01:20):
Oh, I'm sad about that. I'm sad about the break
dancing because there was a little that was like a
that was like an extra.

Speaker 2 (01:25):
Wasn't it? What? It was?

Speaker 1 (01:26):
Good?

Speaker 2 (01:27):
Hey?

Speaker 1 (01:27):
Am I being too confident if I say to you
that the Warriors are going to beat the Titans because
the Titans suck at the bottom of the.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Table, ok. I mean that was a certainly, very outwardly
confident from you. I must say. But look, I mean, well,
the only caveat I'd give you is that the last
time the two teams played at Mounds Smart, the Titans won.
That was on Anzac Day. I had actually lootted it
from my memory until I checked out a couple of
hours ago. Look, that the Warriors should win. They lost
to the Storm last week, but just about everybody does that.

(01:57):
But one of the three games before that to two
buster Seker's back, which is a bigin even though they've
got a few out of origin and suspension, injury, etc.
I don't think you're being outwardly confident or arrogant and
saying it. I fully expect that that will happen on
the Gold Coast tomorrow afternoon.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
Oh thank you Piney for saying that. Jason Pine Weekend
Sport Hosts. You'll be back tomorrow at midday and of
course Sunday here on News Talks EDB.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
For more from Heather Duplasy Allen Drive.
