All Blacks coach Scott Robertson has declared Cortez Ratima ready for a test debut on Saturday night.

There's just one change to the side that pipped England by a point for the Eden Park rematch, with Ratima named in jersey 21 to back up Finlay Christie who replaces the crocked TJ Perenara.

Sportstalk host D'Arcy Waldegrave explains what this means for the upcoming test match.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Does he water Grave sports talk hosters with me right now? Hey, dars, greetings,
So TJ's out. Do we know how long he's out for?

Speaker 2 (00:07):
No, that won't be too long. Yeah, Well, all I
do now is look back at Patrick twee Polotto and
that was supposed to be five weeks and it was
half an hour. But when you're really honest about this,
and it sounds horrible because he did a really good job.
And we know that Philly Christie is quite capable coming
in there, who's coming off the bench to debut, and

(00:29):
then you got no I hope them there we're all
waiting for camera. We got to come back, so they're
all kind of fighting for s.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
So how far off TJ's level is, Finley Christy?

Speaker 2 (00:41):
It's interesting about how you want me to phrase that.
What you want to give you a number? Laura?

Speaker 1 (00:48):
Is he?

Speaker 3 (00:48):
Is he an adequate replacement or are we going to
notice a difference.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
I don't think we'll notice too much of a difference.
I think possibly the speed of the pass off the
deck might be he might be to touch slower than TJ.
Pettinara there. He's very combative, defensively combative, sorry, defensively so
I'm not sure what we'll lose there. But one thing
about him, he's playing at home and he's playing in

(01:15):
a comfortable place at Eden Park. He's done the work
and he's got the confidence after what he did with
that Blues pack. Now, I think the three Loosies probably
didn't cover themselves in glory last week, and they didn't
give TJ enough room to give Damien McKenzie enough room.
I think we suffered there. So I think if we

(01:36):
get six, seven and eight, because Fina really wasn't or
fen Ar could be Dunton puple, he's probably not overly
happy with what he did either, so there is room
to improve. Is a great player. But I think that
and that's what we like about this team. There's only
one change and that's enforced by injury, so Raises basically said, right,

(01:56):
you've had a chance, you're blowing some cobwebs out to go.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
You know you're calm, going to come in here feeling
pretty Confidentble Well, they've.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
Only got one change as well, Joe Marl has not.
It's very rare consecutive test matches only one change of
sides and a.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
Single point loss is not something to be too ashamed
of No, it's.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
Still a loss when you look though at the the
second Test and serious. I believe that the British and
Irish lines rolled us in the second teat from they're
over here. The Irish rolled us in the second Test
after a resounding First Test loss. So it is home
and I think we all want this as all Black fans.
We want something tight and brutal. And I believe that

(02:36):
the guys have learned a lot on the last week.
They understand each other's tendencies, they know what the coaching
staff want. They can only get better.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
Slammed for this good Darcy. TJ's pass is so slow,
Christy is so much faster. Darcy Finley has a quicker
pass of deck.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
Darcy stumped.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
Well, I'm not stump, it's all. I like the way
people go right as well. I just don't think he
gets the ball out quick enough. I think when from behind,
the scrum off the legs of the Lucy's and maybe
maybe he's got a bullet. I think that TJ. Pettinara
has got the experience required. So said, I don't think
we're gonna lose much.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
Okay, really, let's see.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
But thanks for the communication. Guys, I love it all girls.

Speaker 1 (03:18):
Not losing anything, Darcy, Darcy, it's just because I'm stoking
anti TJ stuff on this show.

Speaker 3 (03:25):
Looks because he irritates me.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
Why does he he doesn't eat meat, because he doesn't
eat meat.

Speaker 3 (03:30):
Yeah, it's really irritating and irritate. He irritates me. It
really doesn't. It's not even a secret anyway, and plus
other things. Also, we're through to the mixed doubles.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
Yeah, we've got two sets of New Zealanders. Michael Venus
has gone through, which is wonderful to see. This is
on the back, of course of Lulu. You're laughing at text.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
Worry the whuk is when TJ's back. He's only there
to lead the hacker and he's a mediocre number nine.

Speaker 3 (03:55):
He's got a twenty three starts.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
I said before, everybody is behind Camp Royguard. They're waiting
for cam roy Guard, and I was sneaking especially that. No,
Hope him in a year or two is going to
climb in front of all of them. But Hope Finley's
listening to this and he gets irritated and he comes.

Speaker 3 (04:11):
Out and he's.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
More more than that.

Speaker 3 (04:13):
He's I mean Scottsford with that here and that name.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
It's very vibrant random at the media session. And it
is a vibrant. It's not just an auburn, it's a
full flame. No, he's fantastic. Read here, good stuff.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
Listen before I let you go, just yes An.

Speaker 2 (04:31):
As well as Tebrowski. So we've still got some Kiwi representation.

Speaker 3 (04:34):
That would absolutely something fun to watch. Okay, what have
you got on the show this evening?

Speaker 2 (04:37):
We've got duptin Popoli, he joins us. Story I'll caught
up today at the media session and wrestled him into
a corner and pushed the mic in his face and
he dugged me and he did. And then Andre mckaylovitch
joins us he's got double world title fight coming up
on Sunday four to middle eight belts here.

Speaker 3 (04:53):
Thank you appreciate it. Does he want to grow Sportstal Coast.
He'll be back at seven this evening for more from
Hither duplessy Ellen Dry.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
If listen live to news Talks, it'd be from four
pm weekdays, or follow the podcast on iHeartRadio.
