Jason Pine: Weekend Sport host on a potential shock move for All Blacks vice-captain Ardie Savea

A shock move could be on the cards for All Blacks vice-captain Ardie Savea. 

Ahead of the All Blacks’ clash with Fiji in San Diego tomorrow – the number 8’s been linked with a potential move to Moana Pasifika from the Hurricances. 

Meanwhile, the Warriors are in must-win mode if they hope to secure a top eight spot, as they face the Raiders in Canberra tonight. 

Weekend Sport host Jason Pine joined Jack Tame.

Jason Pine is hosting Weekend Sport from midday to three
pm tomorrow and Sunday on News Talk ZB, although of
course there was a pretty significant event tomorrow afternoon.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Piney, Yeah, I feel like I'm the warm up act
coming on after the main act there. I must say,
I don't know whether I can follow that, but I'll
give it a crack. Here All Blacks, Fiji two thirty
five tomorrow afternoon. I wish like you, Jack, this was
in Sufa, all out Toka, but no, San Diego is
where we're going tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (00:26):
And another big rugby news today, Artie Savia is apparently
off to Moana Pacifica.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
I was shocked by this when I first heard it.
Wouldn't say shocked, I was. I was gutted. I'm a
Hurricanes fan, as you know. But then I thought more
about I thought, you know what, this is actually quite
cool for MAAA Pacifica. Yeah. One, they get the Mana
and you know, the wholehearted commitment and the relevance that
is provided by a guy like Artie Savia. So it's
a win for them. And then you look at the
Hurricanes and you think, well, and the season just gone.

(00:53):
They didn't have Artie. He was in Japan and they
did okay, a pretty good cohort of loose forward. So
while I'd always want Artie sa and my team, and
I'm sure the Hurricanes do, this isn't the worst possible outcome.
Check at least he's not going to the Blues.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
This is true here. I think you speak for all
of us there, don't you. Although that being said, there
is a difference between Arti playing in Japan and Alaty
playing from Wina PACIFICA because yep, he won't be in
the Hurricanes, but he will now be playing against them,
which could be tricky, especially when he's on those barn
storming runs. Worry is Raiders tonight?

Speaker 2 (01:20):
Yeah not it must win, but are very nice to win.
I would love to see them when the time's running out.
It's not mathematical in terms of conversation yet, but yeah,
they'd want to win in Canberra against the Raiders to nightjack.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
Yeah, yeah, they certainly would. It is getting dangerously close
to those mathematical equations. All of us becomes Pythagoras at
