Speaker 1 (00:00):
Now Canada. As we've been discussing, Canada has been caught
spying on our women's football team at the Olympics, isn't
it member of their staff fluid drone over the football
ferns training session has been reported to the IO season
to integrity units. They're in trouble. Maya Jackman is a
former football fern and with us am Iya.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
Hi, how are you doing?

Speaker 1 (00:18):
I'm very well, thank you. How bad is this?

Speaker 2 (00:21):
It's not good. I mean when you look at the
Olympics and what that means in general, you know, like
building a better world through sport and demonstrating respect and integrity,
it's pretty bad. That's not what the Olympics is about.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
Why are they spying on us? I mean they're going
to beat us.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
We don't know, Like football is a honey game. They
are ranked twenty, you know, spaces ahead of us. But look,
I think we've got a new coach, we've got some
new players. What they might be looking for as a formation.
So if you're up high and you're looking down on
a training a training session where that team might be

(01:02):
set up in a formation that will be playing against Canada,
they want to know what that formation might be. They
want to know whether players might be So that's my
guess at what they were trying to look at This
new team, new coach has only been in and since,
you know, not very long, so there's not as much
known about this new Zealand team as there was around

(01:22):
the World Cup. So maybe they're trying to get in
a sneaky few more looks into what what this new
look team might be.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
I reckon there are sidivis defenders may because I reckon
if they're prepared to spy on number twenty eight in
the world, they are prepared to spy on everybody, like
the actual the actual ones who are going to beat them, right.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
Yeah, I mean like they're the defending Olympic champs, aren't they.
So they're they're trying the.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
Hardest to keep to this, don't they.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
I hope. I am hoping we smash them. I'm not
sure we will smash them.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
I was meaning like punishment wise, but.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
Punishment wise, Yeah, they need to be really held accountable
for this because I mean I think even the French
president had put in a ban against anything like drones
or things like that anyway in the first place, so
that was already a rule put in place, so they've
already broken something like that. When you've got an Olympics
in your country, take it really seriously. So I love

(02:17):
I'm loving it that the police came in and took
action straight away as well.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
That's quite hardh Maya, thank you very much, appreciate it.
Maya Jackman, the former former football third.
