Speaker 1 (00:00):
Ryan Bridge.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
We'll look at that further at five to ten. Jason
Pine here, sports talk host seven o'clock to night on
News Talks. Here be Jason good afternoon.

Speaker 1 (00:08):
Good, I right? How I am good?

Speaker 2 (00:09):
Thank you? Damien Mackenzie re signing. Where does he sit
in the first five pecking order? Do you think?

Speaker 1 (00:17):
I think he's sort of quite at the top. Actually,
I'm going to have to apologize Roy. I'm getting the
same feedback then the other day.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Let's get you on the phone, all right, we'll come
back to you in just a few seconds. That's Jason
Pine and Ork consums to get this weird feedback thing
happening only in only when he's in Wellington. Speaking of Wellington,
it's all going off there today, isn't it. I don't know.
When you hear the Greens press conference these days, how
do you feel? Because it's there's one every week, isn't there.
If it's not Tamotha Paul and the police, then it's

(00:46):
Benjamin Doyle and the photos of the kid online. And
we will get into that in a second, and I'll
explain what's going on so that it's clear for everybody.
But when you hear Chloe and Madama stand there and
trying excuse all this stuff. I don't know about you,
but I just want to vomit. I just wanted it
to stop. Anyway, we'll talk about that in a second.

(01:08):
Jason pines back with us, Jason, God.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
To do something about this feedback. I'm getting all feedbacks
of gifts Ryan as they say.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
Well, your feedback's the one that we want. So tell
us where does he sit in terms of first five
pecking order? Damion McKenzie, because they've got him through till
is it twenty twenty nine?

Speaker 1 (01:25):
Yeah, pass the next World Cup on towards the Lions
tour as well, which is obviously a big, big reason
why he's decided to sign the four year deal. In
terms of the pecking order, I guess we're about to
find out he played first five for the first ten
tests of last year, then Vodhen Barrett kind of took
over for the back end of the year or the
most part of it. Those two I guess will go

(01:46):
head to head this year for that ten Jersey and
then of course in about a year from now, Richie Wonger,
by all reports, is going to return from Japan and
also put his hat in the ring for that particular role.
So look, I think it's a great move Amien McKenzie,
Great for New Zealand rugby and it proves I think that,
you know, opportunities like rugby World Cups and Lions Tours

(02:07):
are enough to fend off the big dollars available elsewhere.
Because there's no doubt that Damien McKenzie could have earned
more had he gone to somewhere like Japan. He's decided
no black Jersey World Cup, Lions Tour more important to
me at the moment.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
Well, good on him. I mean, we're lucky to have
him in that regard, don't we. Now the Warriors third
straight win, are they?

Speaker 1 (02:28):
Is it our?

Speaker 2 (02:28):
You know, everyone says this year, year is this year?
I mean, you don't really know until it's over, do
you really? But how are you feeling?

Speaker 1 (02:35):
Well? It's shaping up that way. Mike Hoskin was fairly
bullish this morning. He said, yes, although that's just one
man's a pinion, of course. Look, I think off the
back of three wins in a row, you can start,
you know, thinking optimistically about this. The Raiders game in
Vegas is now clearly in the rearview mirror. And something
we don't have to worry about. Look, you're right, Ryan,
it's a long season. Andrew Webster says this. It's not

(02:57):
a sprinted as a marathon, but the one over the
coming from behind in the wet away from home. Off
the back of those two really good wins at home
against the Sea Eagles and the Roosters, they're shaping up well.
I think we'll find out a bit about them in
a couple of weeks off to buy when they go
to Melbourne to take on the Melbourne Storm. But everything
trucking along fairly nicely at the moment.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
Brilliant until it's not. That's the problem of the Warriors,
isn't it. But we won't think that, Jason, thank you
for that. We'll see tonight Jason Pine, sports talk host
seven o'clock here on news Talk said.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
Bet for more from Heather Duplessy Allen Drive.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
Listen live to news Talks the'd be from four pm weekdays,
or follow the podcast on iHeartRadio.
