D'Arcy Waldegrave: Sportstalk host on Joey Manu reportedly considering release from French rugby contract

The race for Joey Manu's signature on both sides of the Tasman - across both oval-ball codes - appears on.

The Sydney Morning Herald reports the former Rooster - poised to leave Japanese rugby club Toyota for France in the coming months - now wants out of that Racing 92 contract on compassionate grounds.

The report suggests Manu's considering a return to either Sydney or New Zealand.

Well, how can you rip up a contract? I mean
I suppose you could. You could walk away from a contract.
I could have walked away from a contract and probably
very little would happen to me. I just couldn't go
to a competitor.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
That you go. Joey is playing over in Japan at
the moment because he walked away from the roosters. He's
a key international's fantastic play when over there, I go
at rugby union, he's over in to it of a
blitz at the moment playing over there. And then he
signed a contract with the Russing ninety two to go
and play with in the French League, and it's reported
now that he's like, oh, I don't want to go anymore,
