There's concerns the Israel and Iran conflict is about to escalate, as Donald Trump leaves the G7 summit early.

The US President's cut his time in Canada short - not long after telling people to evacuate Iran's capital, Tehran.

Channel 9 chief political editor, Charles Croucher, says the whole world is watching.

"It seems, from what's coming out of America that the US aren't directly involved in whatever happens next, but it's clear that they've been told - or at least it appears they've been told - that something is about to happen."

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Donald Trump has just left the G seven summon in Canada.
He's on his way back to the Situation Room at
the White House to handle this ongoing conflict between Israel
and Iran. Charles Croucher, as Channel nine's chief political leedditor
at the G seven with US.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
Now, Hey, Charles, Hey, how they How are you?

Speaker 1 (00:15):
I'm very well, thanks mate. Do you get the feeling
that this is all about to kack off again?

Speaker 2 (00:19):
Well, it feels that way, and that would explain a
lot of what's happened here from the truth social message
from Donald Trump saying get out of Tehran and we
warned you. It gave you a chance to this action
of the president leaving and sort of forewarning that when
he leaves something will happen. So that's kind of the situation.
The whole world is watching at the moment, not knowing

(00:40):
what that answer is, and as they assemble around the
Situation Room in Washington, DC, the President's on his way
back there. It seems from what is coming out of America,
the US aren't directly involved in whatever happens next, but
it's clear they've been told, or at least it appears
they've been told that something is about to happen, and
we all sort of wait to see what that is.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
Benjamin Ninya, who gave an interview to ABC just a
few hours ago, he says he is still considering killing
a round supreme leader to end the conflict. Is Trump
losing control over the situation, Oh yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
Yeah, and that happened a while ago. I mean that
he has made warnings to other countries, in particular to
Russia regarding Ukraine. I mean, don't forget this was a
conflict that was going to be ended. On day one
of the Trump administration, he had warned Vladimir Putin, had
spoken of Vladimir Putin, it was clear that this was
the might of the US coming in diplomatically. And then
Russia proceeded with the strikes on Kiev and other places

(01:37):
in Ukraine and nothing happened as a result. So, if
you are well, you can assume that if Benamin Nittnya,
who is looking at that and hearing these warnings from
Donald Trump, he knows there aren't many consequences, it seems,
for ignoring those, and that's sort of I think we'll
have a lot of people worried about what comes next now,

(01:58):
Donald Trump also has a pan for moving goalposts, and
maybe that's what he's doing. Maybe you're flying back to
show he serious, and that might be assigned to the
Israeli leader to change what the plan is, but we
don't know, and we may never know when it comes
to that as well.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
Charles is good to talk to you. I really appreciate
your time, mate. You look after yourself. That's Charles Craftcher,
Channel nine's chief political editor.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
