He questioned the mayor over media coverage of a potential pay rise for Christchurch City Council chief executive, Dawn Baxendale, and whether it is an appropriate time to be giving increases.
They also discussed allegations that information about issues with the new stadium budget had been withheld from City Counsellors for two months, and the mayor joining the new Three Waters working group.
