Speaker 1 (00:07):
You're listening to the Saturday Morning with Jack Team podcast
from News Talks. At b.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
This is du Aleipa, who is of course headlining Glaston
Breed literally as we speak, Literally as we speak, du
Alba is headlining glasson Breath. How many gazillion million people
will be there over this weekend? Knee deep in the mud? Na, Nah,
she doesn't look too bad at Glassenbery this year, such
an amazing festival. So yeah, she is headlining. This is

(00:37):
of course the next best thing. If you can't be
at glass and Rey best be with us on Saturday
morning on News Talks. He'd be because it's time to
catch up with our film review of Francesca Rudkin for
her picks this weekend. Hey Francesca, good morning. Let's start
off with a movie showing in cinemas at the moment.
Tell us about Inside Oh, let's have a listen to
Inside Out too.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
This is joy come in you live in Riley's mind.

Speaker 4 (01:00):
Our little girl's growing up so.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
Fast it should be nothing but smooth sailing from.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
Hello, I mean anxiety? Where can I put my stuff?

Speaker 2 (01:08):
A new emotion?

Speaker 1 (01:10):
Sorry, we wanted to make such a good first impression.
What do you mean we, I'm anzie, that's on we.
That's embarrassment.

Speaker 3 (01:19):
Welcome to headquarters.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
Embarrassment. Okay, that is sorry. That is inside out too,
so that showing in cinemas and time for the school holidays.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
It certainly is. So. This is, of course, a sequel
to the two thousand and fifteen smash It, which we
all loved because it was original and clever and filled
with humor and heart and impact and affected everybody. Everybody
sort of talking an emotional hit from that film. My
daughter saw that film when she was sick, possibly a
little bit too young to understand it all, but going
back to see this film at age fifteen, she was

(01:48):
just nodding along, going, oh, yep. Because I think any
child who's been through puberty and understands the concept of
the renovation of the brain will understand what's happening here
to Riley, who's just turned thirteen, and the control the
skin side Riley's mind gets handed over to new emotions.
So anger and discuss and fear and joy and sadness
they're all still there, but they hand over the console

(02:11):
to anxiety, embarrassment, envy, on we and her French accent,
which I just love and these new emotions kind of
take over and we go through puberty. I really enjoyed this.
It's a delight to be back with this team. This
film doesn't have that same sort of emotional hit as
the original, possibly because we're in familiar territory. We've sort

(02:33):
of been here before. I watched this and thoughts they've
done a very good job of appealing to young younger,
you know, kids, which obviously is the point. It simplifies
things at times, but then there's just some lovely other
gags which appealed to adults who maybe have to deal
with children going through puberty. I think probably the most
important thing to know about this film is it is

(02:55):
it picks our film Jack. So while we are dealing
with puberty, we Riley gets a pimple, but not her period.
She has friendship issues, but she doesn't get crushes on boys.
It all gets missy with romance stuff like that. So
they've tipped it still quite.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
Yeah sweet, Yeah, yeah, you.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
Know, it's still very pecksie and sweet and trying to
take the skip it this set of story and advancer
on and I think it's really gonna work because, as
I said, there's lots of kids like my daughter who
saw the first one, have now grown up and gone
through this. Uh huh oh yeah when you remember anxiety
coming in. Yes, so you know it's a delight to
have them back. As I see, it doesn't quite have

(03:35):
that emotional set of the first film, but I think
will still be hugely popular.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
The toler Yeah nice. Okay, that's inside out too. So
that's showing at the movies showing on Netflix. Let's have
a listen to a family affair.

Speaker 3 (03:46):
It is madness.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
Hey, yeah, this is your momm and your boss.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
Do you hate?

Speaker 2 (03:52):
It's weird?

Speaker 1 (03:58):
Sorry? If you can hear me, name the movie. I
want a teen choice to work for it.

Speaker 2 (04:02):
Okay, tell us about a family of yes.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
Okay, So romances sort of have been was he quite
a romances coming at us? That we had Anne has
away with the idea of you. We've had Gen Powell's
hit Man, which is playing on Netflix, which is kind
of a bit quirky. We've had the Tennis Love Triangle
with challenges, and we had some fun with some action
comedy with the Fallout guy. And I sort of thought, okay,
cool going into a family say a pretty good pass.

(04:29):
Zach from Nicole Kidman, Joey King, Kathy Bates. I thought, great,
this is going to be some more sort of, you know,
decent escape for some stant sort of romance to kind
of enjoy. Okay, to be honest with you, it's just
a little lackluster.

Speaker 4 (04:41):
It's a little bit lifeless, pretty familiar plot whereby Joey King,
she is an assistant to a Hollywood star played by
Zac Efron, who does a very good job of kind
of taking the mickey out of.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
Highwood start and how they don't sit in the real world,
and he falls for her mother played by Nicole Kidman,
who is sixteen years older than him and a very
well known writer, but her died eleven years ago and
she's sort of presently got back out into the dating
Wilson's then, so you've got all these very sort of
familiar tropes tropes here, jack familiar kind of story and

(05:16):
off we go. A lot of physical comedy in here.
There are a few laughs, but I don't think the
chemistry was quite there between Zack Fron and Nicole Cadman,
and it just, yeah, just found a little lackluster, a
little lifeless. Yeah, but you know what, it's a long weekend.
If you need to smug us up and just want
some live entertainment, this is for you.

Speaker 2 (05:36):
Could be an option. Okay, very good, Thank you so much, Francisca.
So that is a family there, that's on Netflix. The
first film, the Pixar one is Inside Out too, that
is showing at movie theaters.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
