Bob's Best Buys: Rimapere Baron Edmond de Rothschild 2024 Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough, $30

Why I chose it:

- Top vintage
- Best of Marlborough with a French accent
- Sauvignon doesn’t get much better than this
- Delicious now but no rush
- It has great purity and power
- Due to be released, but buy it while stocks last

What does it taste like?

A delicious sauvignon blanc with real finesse. Flavours are a medley of passion fruit, lime zest, guava, and a suggestion of feijoa. A vibrant and refreshing wine with appealing purity. It has a strong Marlborough signature with a subtle French accent.

Why it’s a bargain:

It’s not the cheapest sauvignon around, in fact as sauvignon goes it is moderately expensive, but is also very, very good. In my book it offers good value.

Where can you buy it?

It is just about to be released so check out your nearest fine wine retailer. When ordering in advance, don’t forget to enquire about a discount.

What’s a good food match?

The folk at Rimapere recommend pairing it with salads, white meats, or fish in sauce dishes. I can’t argue with that.

(00:55):
Of course they haven't all released their twenty twenty fours,
but this is certainly a certainly a beauty. It's it's
delicious now, but but at most servian I think would
be drunk within a year of release. But but but
I don't think there's any rush for this wine. I

(01:16):
think it will have a it'll reward keeping for a
year or two at least, perhaps even more. Yeah, it's
got a little purity and power. It's due to be

So what does it taste like.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
It's the same as a sort of a like a

a touch of the figure there a little bit. It's
it's sort of vibe and refreshing wine with real purity,
and it's it's got a strong Marvel signature, but it's

(02:03):
I think it's got a subtle French accent as well,
which makes it a bit more interesting.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
Thirty dollars a bottle, you reckon? This is good value.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
Yeah, it's not the cheapest servinyon around. In fact, as

Yeah, right, a bit of a discount for especially if

Well, the thoct that RIMAPEI recommend peering it with salads,
quite meat or fish in sauce dishes. And I argue
