(02:47):
two six dot com not you know, outside the hockey circles,
you have no reason to know what it is. But

Speaker 2 (04:26):
Heavy rain and strong winds from a powerful nor'easter have
forced the cancelation of New York City's eighty first annual
parade that's happening today. Officials say the ongoing storm and
state of emergency made it too dangerous to hold the event.
So even all the way up into New York City,
it's getting to be ridiculous with the weather up there.
Did you or did you not see the footage of
(04:47):
the house is being just washed into the sea in
North Carolina.
Speaker 3 (04:50):
I did not, dude.
Speaker 2 (04:51):
It's unbelievable. It's unbelievable. And that's happening all the way
up into New York City. In New Jersey, just giant waves.
Speaker 3 (04:58):
Isn't that where Rosie is?
Speaker 2 (04:59):
I don't care care.
Speaker 3 (05:06):
The wind hawk, I'm with I'm with you.
Speaker 5 (05:08):
We are in a really good spot when it comes
to natural disasters.
Speaker 2 (05:13):
Yeah, man, you know, if we.
Speaker 5 (05:14):
Get a tornado in this area, it's like a little
teeny tiny, cute little tornado. It's kind of like, oh, look,
how like kind of skinny and spindly, todo.
Speaker 2 (05:22):
Look at you trying to suck up the house trailer.
What a cute.
Speaker 3 (05:25):
That's so cute.
Speaker 1 (05:26):
I know.
Speaker 5 (05:27):
You know, we don't get like the bigest four f
five tornadoes that like rip apart, you know, half the state.
Speaker 2 (05:33):
Everybody's like, well, what about the buzzard. I'm like, I
would love it with it on. I will stay home
in my house and watch.
Speaker 5 (05:41):
The best the best. Yeah, that's all. We got to
worry about it. And we know when those are coming.
I'm like, an earthquake, are you kidding me? Out on
the West Coast and all of a sudden, you just
enjoying a nice, bright, sunny day and you just hanging
out with your family, and all of a sudden, the
earth splits open.
Speaker 3 (05:59):
You get sucked into the depths of health.
Speaker 2 (06:01):
Yes, yeah, hell, the depths of hell. A new global
review led by the Latrobe University has found that heavy
male alcohol consumption is damaging to women and children.
Speaker 7 (06:14):
The review urges immediate policy action be taken to address
the gender related risks. The study, titled Harms to Women
and Children from Men's Alcohol Use and Evidence Review and
Directions for Policy, says one in three women worldwide lived
with a partner who drinks heavily. It found that children
in these households are greater risk of violence, neglect, poor health,
and limited opportunities later in life. Research has concluded the
(06:37):
negative effects are especially severe in low and middle income
nations in places where gender inequality remains high.
Speaker 1 (06:45):
Where is US It's crazy? Study twice by It was weird.
Speaker 5 (06:56):
Did you guys see the SNL skate with a non
non alcoholic Yeah?
Speaker 3 (07:00):
That was really good.
Speaker 2 (07:02):
Yeah, good stuff.
Speaker 3 (07:03):
A pretty good episode of Hey Mussy as they were
just talking about you.
Speaker 1 (07:09):
Yeah, the news was just talking about.
Speaker 5 (07:11):
Should we play the Okay, Hi Mussy.
Speaker 3 (07:15):
Hi guys, how are you? I'm great. I was just
sitting talking to Grim and.
Speaker 1 (07:19):
DT out in the hallway. Yeah, Darryl, so you were
talking to Grim.
Speaker 3 (07:24):
No.
Speaker 8 (07:27):
No, The thing is is that so you know Big nine,
So Oatana he was John Marshall and he played against
my brother and that he's that age, he's like five
years older than I am.
Speaker 2 (07:36):
What language are you speaking watching him?
Speaker 3 (07:40):
Watching him play? He's talking about DT Oh yeah, watching.
Speaker 8 (07:43):
Him play football was the most amazing you know. Yeah,
It's just there's.
Speaker 2 (07:48):
Like a different level than everybody else on the field,
right right.
Speaker 3 (07:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (07:51):
And the thing was to say we we thought it
was a win because it was like the one game
that he didn't get two hundred yards wow against Aatana,
you know, at that guy was spectacular.
Speaker 3 (08:03):
That's pretty cool.
Speaker 8 (08:03):
Yeah, no, so that was super cool. I have never
actually met him, but what No.
Speaker 2 (08:08):
MA met him for the first time today.
Speaker 3 (08:10):
Yeah, how crazy is that? Yeah, I know, yeah, he's great.
Speaker 2 (08:13):
Zach refused to shake his hand. I don't know why
you guys have a beef.
Speaker 8 (08:16):
Yeah, it's John Marshall and there's there's John Marshall was
out there.
Speaker 3 (08:22):
Yes, yeah, I talked to him. What does he do?
Speaker 2 (08:24):
He's a stewardess.
Speaker 3 (08:29):
I don't even think they're called that. Yeah, no, I
think you're going to prison.
Speaker 8 (08:33):
That's what I realized this morning when I looked at
myself in the mirror.
Speaker 6 (08:37):
Oh my god, god, let's play a game.
Speaker 3 (08:43):
No, I guess what I thought was a pimple was
another nipple. Third nipple. That'd be sweet.
Speaker 1 (08:54):
What in the world appears?
Speaker 3 (09:00):
What a right? Is it as sensitive as the other
like the main two?
Speaker 8 (09:04):
What I would hope so you would think it would
be because it feels like it's alienated away from the
other two.
Speaker 1 (09:09):
Oh, like it because what's happening here? Styles is like
four or five of them?
Speaker 3 (09:15):
Four or five?
Speaker 2 (09:15):
Yeah, one of them is on your forehead, right.
Speaker 3 (09:18):
No, I just need more wishes.
Speaker 8 (09:21):
With the flannel that I put on this morning, I'm like,
oh my god, I look like ed Gean right now?
Speaker 1 (09:26):
Us that is one thousand what I thought when you
walked down.
Speaker 2 (09:30):
Soon as I saw you standing right there, I thought
the same thing. That's ed Gene's shirt. Yeah, and then
you imagine, I'm like, that's definitely ed Gean's shirt.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
Can you happen to my brother?
Speaker 2 (09:39):
Ye?
Speaker 1 (09:40):
We are you wearing a pair of knockers underneath it? Please? Please?
Speaker 3 (09:46):
Can you? If not, can you? I got some stockings on? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (09:50):
What except for your dead you know, I mean ed
Gean killed that poor lady behind the bar. You'd never
do that.
Speaker 3 (09:56):
No, No, you wouldn't have been out of the bar
your show ever.
Speaker 8 (10:01):
We ever, we watched three episodes and We're like, okay,
we're done with this.
Speaker 2 (10:04):
Are you? Sim I'm parts. Episode four is when it
really starts. You see some real acting out of Charlie. Uh.
And from four on that's when it started getting great,
right then?
Speaker 1 (10:15):
Right?
Speaker 5 (10:15):
I don't know made it through one episode? Lordy, lordy, Okay,
we're wanting not to say that I wouldn't go back
and watch. My wife's like, come out, we're watching task.
Speaker 3 (10:26):
Oh.
Speaker 2 (10:26):
Everybody keeps telling me that I could get theirs.
Speaker 1 (10:30):
Is so good that it's outstanding. I think there's two
left and uh, the second to last one was last night.
Speaker 8 (10:38):
And I know Corey said this, but the same after
like the fifth episode, you're like, there's no way that
this can keep going.
Speaker 3 (10:46):
What more do they have? But it's so awesome to
watch it, Hawk, It's so good.
Speaker 2 (10:52):
All right, but somebody needs to watch Chad powers to
watch watch I promise you, I will thank you.
Speaker 3 (11:00):
Also, I think I knew Tim Robinson show started last night?
Speaker 2 (11:02):
Did it really?
Speaker 3 (11:03):
What's that called? I think I don't.
Speaker 2 (11:05):
I think it's called the Let's Get a d W.
I what isn't that right? That's a reality show.
Speaker 1 (11:12):
Isn't it?
Speaker 3 (11:13):
What does that mean? I don't know. I didn't write
the damn show. Hey man, Yeah, what's wrong? What did
I say? I dis boy you? I just got an
that's got an email? You know the test results in
that rental car that I had in London? Did you tickets?
Speaker 2 (11:33):
You did?
Speaker 3 (11:34):
Didn't you got at? I know it, dude. You remember
when Andy told us that's good? I didn't. I had
no idea, Like I'm like all of this.
Speaker 5 (11:47):
I was doing so much to pay attention. I was
just going with the flow traffic. I had no idea
that that's how they gave way speeding tickets. So I, oh, yeah, god,
I'm so please.
Speaker 3 (12:00):
You got a speeding ticket. Okay, let me tell you
how many pounds? So now listen.
Speaker 2 (12:06):
So the deal is, they don't even have police officers
with the radar guns.
Speaker 3 (12:09):
They have cameras and.
Speaker 2 (12:11):
They take a picture of you here and a picture of
you there, and the time how long it took you
to forget from here to here, And they know if
you were speeding, you forget they're too fast. They just
send you a tick in the mail. You don't know,
you just get on the mail. And I we knew
Ben he was hauling balls.
Speaker 3 (12:24):
I wasn't.
Speaker 5 (12:24):
The thing is like I was so scared because I'm like,
I'm driving on the other side of the road, on
the wrong side of the car, and so like I
was just like so focused and like I'm just gonna
I stayed in the left lane as much as I
could because that was the slow lane.
Speaker 3 (12:38):
But then there were times.
Speaker 5 (12:39):
Where I was like getting kind of cocky and feeling
in front of you by myself. Yeah, but I'm on
the highway and the highways are just like here, and
I'm like, I'm just gonna go. I'm gonna be on
this highway for another seventy miles, so I'm just gonna
like get in the right lane and just like go.
Speaker 3 (12:52):
Tramar had no I mean, you see signs.
Speaker 5 (12:54):
Everywhere, Like I didn't not even sure what the the
phrasing was, but like you knew that there were traffic,
like speed traps going on. I just I was turning
in Tokyo, Yeah, trying to find the button.
Speaker 3 (13:15):
Story in my life.
Speaker 5 (13:19):
So so yeah, anyway, I thought it was fascinating. After
I'm like, huh, I wonder how these speed things work
because I'm just going to float traffic and I don't
see any cops. I don't see any It's not like
when you go through an area and you feel like
you got busted, like flashes a light because it's taking
a picture or something.
Speaker 3 (13:35):
I never saw any of that. Well apparently I got caught.
Speaker 1 (13:38):
So everybody else got tickets to you think then if
you're going to freaking hope.
Speaker 3 (13:42):
So wow, that's incredible and incredible. Yeah, see, aren't you glad?
I read that email? Hawk jumped out of his seat
because I know because they talked about it.
Speaker 2 (13:53):
We were like, I guarantee you, yeah it was that's right.
We were sitting by the by the fireplace in that bar.
Speaker 3 (13:59):
Yeah, yeah, that's fun. Don't pay it then you'll be No,
it's automatically. This is no no, this is not a no.
Speaker 5 (14:08):
They basically said, like, this is not a bill, this
is just your your receipt because we're just gonna debit
your car automatically.
Speaker 2 (14:15):
Yeah it's too late, buddy, Yeah yeah, because they sent
it to the the the car runsal company, and the
car runsal companies gotta.
Speaker 3 (14:22):
Take care of it. That's right.
Speaker 5 (14:23):
Yeah, that was brill I don't want to say this
out loud, but I'm gonna say it. That's the that's
the second infraction I had on that trip, Are you No,
I don't think so. Sorry, that's a different too much trespassing. No,
I apparently I parked. I parked in an area where
I was supposed to like pay for parking, and I
didn't know that you filled the American Wow, yeah.
Speaker 3 (14:45):
Do not know rules exist?
Speaker 5 (14:47):
No again, it's like there's so much to think about.
I got I just I saw an open spot, I
parked the car, and I'm like, oh man, I'm so
glad I don't have to drive around this freaking city anymore,
like potentially get myself in a car accident. So I
just like parked and got out and walked.
Speaker 2 (15:00):
Away west through a guy your keys. It's great. Hey,
I've been when we were in a stadium somewhere and
there was a teleprompter and a kid was playing on
the teleprompter.
Speaker 3 (15:16):
Whose kid was that? It wasn't Sancho.
Speaker 2 (15:21):
I wasn't okay, I couldn't remember if it was or.
Speaker 3 (15:24):
I thought it was.
Speaker 4 (15:26):
I swear thought you guys told us the story and
it was Mark Sanchez. I think I think I remember
vaguely you guys telling us the story and it was Mark.
Speaker 1 (15:33):
I think I think it was correct.
Speaker 2 (15:35):
I think it might have been obviously bringing that up because.
Speaker 5 (15:39):
Can I can I say something that sounds controversial, but
it's not.
Speaker 3 (15:42):
I wasn't in a black kid. I don't remember. I
thought the kids.
Speaker 2 (15:47):
I don't see color. Ben, I'm sorry, I have no idea.
I can't remember.
Speaker 3 (15:52):
You're just lucky Sanchez didn't see where you parked.
Speaker 2 (15:57):
The kid was on the screen because his dad was
out running wind sprints.
Speaker 1 (16:02):
I liked how yesterday when they showed the video of
Sancho's walking out of the hospital. I know this is
only like five people can see me, but he's like
walking like this, like he got like like he is,
but he's like somebody in his camp told him, like
play the victim, like just the way that he was.
Speaker 2 (16:23):
I don't he got stab bro, Yeah no, but he
was the aggressor. No, I understand, but he still got stabbed.
I'm not saying that he wasn't the aggressor, but he
still hurts. He get stabbed. Remember when you looked backwards
too quickly and pulled every muscle in your body blood.
Speaker 3 (16:36):
Maybe he just was not in a rush to get
back to his black kid.
Speaker 5 (16:42):
Well, here's nell when you look at his family, this
very much could be his kid.
Speaker 3 (16:46):
Because I think it was.
Speaker 2 (16:47):
I think it was. I think I'm almost positive. I'm
almost positive till it was. Anyway, that's not the hearing
over there. I just brought up because ex quarterback Mark
Sanchez speaking out of for being booked in Indianapolis Sunday
following his hospital release. The Fox Sports analysts told reporters
outside the Marion County jail they's recovering slowly and that
it's a long process. After posing for mugshots and getting
fingerprinted on assault and battery charges. Perry Tole, sixty nine
(17:12):
year old truck driver Climy stabbed Sanchez in the chest
and self defense after the drunk former NFL star attacked
him at a hotel loading duck last weekend. First, he's
pepper sprayed him and that didn't work, so he had
to get stabby.
Speaker 3 (17:23):
Yeah, he got real stabby.
Speaker 2 (17:25):
Yeah, and he still looked worse than Mark Sanchez did
walking out of that hospital. Oh man, what a story.
Yucky yucky. Anyway, So there's that. And finally I talked
about a little bit last week. But up in Silver Bay, Minnesota,
Crosby the Crosby fire is fifty percent contained as of Sunday,
so they're finally making some progress on that. The fire
officials said the blaze was started by a lightning strike
(17:46):
around Wednesday, so thankfully it wasn't something that was caused
by a human like that dude that they caught out
in California who started all those fires out there?
Speaker 3 (17:53):
How about that? Huh?
Speaker 2 (17:54):
So we's twenty nine year old guy uber driver something
like that, and they arrested him for starting the fire
that burned down all Hollywood and all that. She's Louise,
that's the news man. That's enough of that. Jump sick
of real jail for the rest of us life. Yeah,
no kidding, man, she's Louise. All right, here's the thing.
(18:14):
We come back, we'll do sports, we'll talk more football.
Ben's here, mess, he's here, and we look forward to
football this weekend once again at US Bank Stadium as Philly,
who's floundering gets another f word by your Viking US
(18:37):
seven twenty three, Patrick Mornings on the Thing, seven twenty nine.
Here we are, Patrick Morning, So thanks for tuning in.
Mussman and lever over there, which sounds like a high
(19:00):
priced attorney at law.
Speaker 3 (19:03):
He's gonna need one after all of his violations. Yeah man, yeah,
Mussman and Lever.
Speaker 2 (19:09):
Well, you don't know how to drive, right, I need to.
Speaker 5 (19:13):
Just go ahead and somehow cancel that card so they
can't just h yeah.
Speaker 1 (19:18):
Yeah, then you get extradited and it's the whole thing.
Speaker 5 (19:21):
Yeah, I mean, I don't mind it over there, kicked
out of the country.
Speaker 2 (19:25):
Yeah, no, you just can't go back to that country.
Speaker 1 (19:27):
Yeah, it's not like the Vikings will play there every year.
Speaker 3 (19:33):
Hopefully we got next year off. Yeah, back to back.
I doubt we'll go to.
Speaker 2 (19:37):
Australia next year.
Speaker 3 (19:39):
Now that's the thing.
Speaker 5 (19:40):
Well, that is the other thing, Like I wouldn't mind
traveling international to another place.
Speaker 8 (19:43):
Next year, Yeah, like Canada or or a real deja no, no,
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (19:50):
Every says that trip's terrible. Yeah, I know. But why
you've been right, yeah, real sweet.
Speaker 4 (19:54):
But I could totally understand why, uh, people with lots
of means would not want to be in a rio.
Speaker 2 (20:00):
Somebody told me that they have nice thoughts down there.
Speaker 3 (20:03):
Yes, that was I believe it was. Max.
Speaker 4 (20:09):
I will spread the word. I preach it the most
per capital.
Speaker 3 (20:15):
That's true. That's true, that's true.
Speaker 1 (20:16):
Butts are sweet.
Speaker 3 (20:17):
But regardless, I know soon.
Speaker 2 (20:19):
I mean we heard it from the commissioner's Uh maybe
he didn't say anyway.
Speaker 3 (20:24):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (20:25):
Bottom line is every team will be playing one game
overseas within the next few years. Every team one game something.
Speaker 3 (20:30):
That's when we go to eighteen games, right, yes, yeah,
that's right.
Speaker 1 (20:33):
Sorry they keep throwing showing the Fred Warner. Yeah, he
basically gets rolled up on. But his foot planet is
Oh my gosh, that's terrible. He's out for the years.
Speaker 2 (20:48):
Did I read like that he's only missed one game
in his whole career out of one hundred.
Speaker 3 (20:53):
Yeah, yeah, so good. He's so good.
Speaker 1 (20:57):
There are four I mean they're five, four and two now,
but how many one is it now? They're four and
two now, which is unbelievable from here?
Speaker 8 (21:07):
How many snaps do you go by later where you
actually stop the hell's happened? Stop thinking about it? Right
if you if your teammate goes down with some horrific
pedal or not penalty, but uh like that, how many
snaps before you're like, okay, we're playing again.
Speaker 3 (21:23):
You know what I mean, It's gonna be in your head.
Speaker 2 (21:25):
But isn't it the human condition to believe it's never
going to happen to you.
Speaker 3 (21:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (21:29):
Yeah, it hasn't happened to me, yeh, yeah right, I'm
waiting for it. Yeah, you know how it feels though,
you know who it has happened to.
Speaker 2 (21:41):
It is weird the right because like if if we
didn't have that part of our humanity, we'd never drive
a car again after we drove by an accident.
Speaker 3 (21:48):
You know, like that's a good point.
Speaker 2 (21:50):
You have to believe that. Wow, that's too bad. It
happened Jimmy, but I didn't like him anyway, Jimmy.
Speaker 3 (21:57):
I mean, you think it happened to Jimmy.
Speaker 2 (22:00):
Yeah, yeah, anyway, So you go, we'll play Thank you.
Speaker 3 (22:04):
We're all playing the hymns.
Speaker 2 (22:05):
It's time for a fan five on the Power Trip,
presented by All Around, your Timber Tech deck building contract
you all Around after you, sir Zacha.
Speaker 1 (22:16):
We haven't talked about this yet, but You're Wild have
started the season one and one. They battle the La
Kings tonight, then they're off to Dallas to play Dallas tomorrow.
The Kings are one and two, The Wild are one
and one. You can hear that game on the fan
bizarre start of the season, starting with a five nothing
win in St.
Speaker 3 (22:35):
Louis.
Speaker 1 (22:35):
You come home to the friendly confines of Grand Casino
Arena and you lose seven to four.
Speaker 3 (22:41):
Chaotic game.
Speaker 1 (22:44):
Yeah, I don't know what you I just kind of
got to swallow that and move on the next one.
Speaker 3 (22:49):
H too much?
Speaker 1 (22:54):
Yeah, reading Tommy's autobiography, oh man, So yeah, yeah, we'll
get back on track.
Speaker 3 (23:02):
Ze, You've got his first goal. So it was cool,
Ze william Y Yeah. Man, good for Zeve, Yeah, good
for Seve Ben. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (23:10):
Penn State fired James Franklin after three straight losses. They
lost to Oregon UCLA, then north Western they lost to
this weekend. He's been the head coach for twelve seasons.
They have a forty nine million plus dollar buyouty it's
the second biggest buyout in the history of college football.
Texas A and M's Jimbo Fisher was at seventy six
(23:33):
million dollars. Sixteen days ago, Penn State was ranked in
the top five. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (23:41):
I don't understand, you know.
Speaker 5 (23:43):
I saw this as it's kind of like recirculating again
on on social media because it kind of happens every
so often when these buyouts become topical. I don't really
understand where we've gotten in college football, in any sport
where it's the norm to attached these buyouts to college coaches,
Like why, like you failed at your job, Like you've
(24:08):
you failed at your job so much that we're going
to fire you, but then we're still in the hook
to give you fifty million dollars yeap, Like we paid
you handsomely while you had the job, but then to
get rid of you, now we got to pay you
fifty million dollars or whatever.
Speaker 3 (24:24):
They buy it, Like, what's the logic in that?
Speaker 5 (24:27):
And I understand that there are like they don't want
some pilfering going on where other teams are courting these
coaches and they're like, oh, you want to steal this coach,
then you've got to pay out this amount of money.
But I think in those situations, fine, if you want
to like put these little for lack of a better term,
these like little poison pills in these contracts for these
(24:47):
other teams, Like if you want to try to take
our coach, you're going to owe us fifty million dollars
to buy his contract up. But if you suck so
bad that we're going to fire you. You shouldn't be
able to collect on that, should you. No, no, no,
I don't really understand why that.
Speaker 1 (25:02):
And if you if you leave, you know, for some
better opportunity, you leave that school than dust, you don't
have to pay them back all that money.
Speaker 3 (25:09):
You don't pay them back all the money. But yeah, yeah,
I don't. I don't get it.
Speaker 5 (25:12):
It's a silly thing that we've somehow incorporated where it's
just like it's like the normal thing to do, but
it's far from normal.
Speaker 3 (25:19):
Like when does that ever happen in any other corporation?
Speaker 5 (25:22):
A CEO gets fired and then they're like, oh, yeah,
by the way, we're just going to like still give
you all this money. I mean there are stock options. Yeah,
but that's not the way college football works.
Speaker 2 (25:31):
Is it one of those deals where like that is
an incentive to get you to sign another contract.
Speaker 3 (25:37):
Yeah, like maybe you don't.
Speaker 2 (25:38):
You don't get that on your first deal, but maybe
you get it on your second and third one.
Speaker 1 (25:41):
That's that's what happens to That's what happens with PG
all the time. He always gets court in the off
season and is his agent gets him either a raise
or the buyout goes up, right, right, that's it's happening, right, Well.
Speaker 3 (25:52):
That's what I guess. That's my point is, like if
that's if if PJ.
Speaker 5 (25:57):
Fleck, as an example, every time he gets courted by
a team and it looks like there's like this like
playful threat that he's gonna leave the team, like no, no, no,
don't don't. We'll sweet we'll give you more money and
then we'll increase your buy out at the end of
the at at the end of your contract or whatever.
Well why don't you just attach that to whatever team
that he supposedly is beted by, Like, yeah, if if
(26:18):
Penn State's gonna gonna pull PJ. Fleck, you know, two
or three years before his contract is up, well then
Penn State's on the hook for his buyout.
Speaker 3 (26:26):
Which I think that I think that's that's what happens.
Speaker 5 (26:29):
But if he gets fired, yeah, he shouldn't be he
shouldn't be given his buyo.
Speaker 1 (26:34):
No, you're right, I don't understand. As Grim said an
hour ago, they aren't firing James Franklin to get the
head coach at Toledo. They're gonna look for somebody like Saban,
like Lane Kiffen like Matt Ruhle where then they're gonna
have to go to Nebraska or Old miss and pay
that buyout and then pay him eleven twelve million name
(26:55):
figure firing. Yeah correct, yes, yeah, but yet.
Speaker 5 (27:00):
But yet we have to cut other other athletic programs
because we can't afford it.
Speaker 3 (27:05):
Yeah, I mean I think that. Yeah, yeah, that makes
a lot of sense. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (27:10):
Yeah, there's James Franklin.
Speaker 1 (27:12):
Wow, he's pump.
Speaker 2 (27:13):
He's sleeping in this morning and he's coming.
Speaker 5 (27:16):
I mean, if I were him, I mean I know
that he's young, and he's he's like, oh, ball coach,
he probably wants to coach. Yeah he would, I mean,
take a year off or two and just wait for
the right opportunity.
Speaker 3 (27:28):
You should see my buy out here from my iHeart Giant. Yeah. Yeah,
it's a big deal. That's what they've kept here. Forty
nine dollars. Cyonara, suckers. There's commas in it. Yeah, there's
no extra.
Speaker 2 (27:44):
Zeros man crazy forty nine No, Yeah, anyway, we all
saw it coming.
Speaker 3 (27:50):
Yep. I think it sounds like he did too when
he was walking off the foe.
Speaker 1 (27:53):
Yeah, how about your guy Baker is playing like an MVP.
Speaker 3 (27:57):
Oh, it's amazing.
Speaker 4 (27:59):
Is the most fun quarterback in the league to watch.
He's like farm, he's great.
Speaker 5 (28:03):
I mean, we talk about a player that gets it
from a leadership standpoint. I mean, even what he said
about Tez at the end of the game, Like it's funny, Like, yeah,
he can talk trash last game to fans in the
stands and then talk trash to them as he's walking
off as the as the victory victory he's screw back,
and then he's able to talk about it in kind
(28:23):
of a fun way. And then he makes fun of
as one hundred and forty five pounds wide receiver. Yeah,
in a fun way. It's like he's this likable Yeah,
very a lot different with Tua, but yeah, yeahh.
Speaker 4 (28:35):
Well, Baker even said it himself. He's like, early in
my career, people he's like, I act the same way.
Early in my career, people said I was arrogant. Now
I'm winning, and people say it's they love it. They
say he's got that dog in him.
Speaker 3 (28:45):
Yeah, correct. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (28:47):
Man, Patrick Morning Show, Viking's News. When we come back,
we get you all set for Philadelphia Eagles week. Patrick
Marshall right here on the fan.

Speaker 3 (29:44):
I love you know.
Speaker 2 (29:48):
That song? You wrote that one? Yeah? Out uh Charlie Manson.
Speaker 3 (29:57):
Charlie.
Speaker 4 (29:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (30:01):
When I get to the bottom, I go back to
the top of the rig. Get to go there. Yeah. Anyway,
Paul McCartney, love him, great show. If you go, you'll
enjoy it. Even if you say to yourself, I don't
care much, you'll be like, that's a lot of fun.
Speaker 3 (30:17):
Are you going to go?
Speaker 2 (30:18):
Can't? I'm going to the Gopher game?
Speaker 3 (30:21):
Oh yeah.
Speaker 4 (30:21):
Tickets are super duper cheap, though you wouldn't think so
because Paul McCartney, you're like fifteen sixteen bucks.
Speaker 3 (30:27):
Yeah, oh gosh, those sauces. He just he loves it.
Sixteen bucks I swear.
Speaker 2 (30:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (30:34):
When I looked it up last week, I thought because
I thought it was going to be, you know, exorbitant,
but it was like, yeah, fifteen sixteen bucks.
Speaker 3 (30:40):
I heard you could get on the floor for a
hundred bucks. It ain't uh, I ain't selling.
Speaker 2 (30:45):
Go ahead say it, you love it?
Speaker 3 (30:48):
I don't you do you do? Oh?
Speaker 1 (30:52):
Page not found? Maybe it's sold out.
Speaker 2 (30:54):
Maybe or maybe they don't like to wing sixteen bucks?
Speaker 3 (30:57):
Everybody sure you're paying in fees? Yeah? Right?
Speaker 2 (31:02):
Like three times.
Speaker 3 (31:05):
It's time for on the Power Trip presented coach trying
to assess your pro stour.
Speaker 2 (31:12):
The Philadelphia Eagles finally look beatable, right, Ben, Yes they do.
Speaker 3 (31:15):
Let's go, Yeah, I must and I were just talking
about it though.
Speaker 5 (31:18):
It's like, well, the thing is, like they did just
win a super Bowl.
Speaker 3 (31:22):
They do have one of the.
Speaker 5 (31:24):
Best running backs on the plan planet. They do have
great receivers. I know that there's turmoil going on, but like,
is this the game where they just get it right? Somehow,
some way They are going to fix it right. They're
too talented and too good not to fix their problems.
You just hope that they don't use this Vikings game
(31:45):
to like all of a sudden become a down the
field threat, they start breaking open an offense, becoming big
play offense, and so we know that defensive front is
going to be tough. But the worry is, you know,
definitely don't rest on your lore and think that, oh man,
these guys aren't as aren't as big and bad as
we thought, Like, no, they're They're every bit as capable
(32:06):
of still wiping you off off the field. So we
got to bring our best game after the bye week.
And typically bye weeks are kind of the slow first
start and kind of takes a quarter for guys to
get going.
Speaker 3 (32:18):
Like that can't happen against the Eagles.
Speaker 8 (32:20):
Well, I know it's a rivalry rivalry game with the Giants,
but the Giants just owned them, owned them, I mean
physical them. Yeah, that offense for the Eagles is just
not very good, especially in the last couple of weeks
or the last couple of losses that they've had now
that they're.
Speaker 3 (32:36):
Four and two.
Speaker 8 (32:38):
I don't know a lot of it's going to be
dependent on how many guys.
Speaker 3 (32:42):
We get back.
Speaker 8 (32:44):
Yeah, coming up on Sunday, if we can get enough
guys back and healthy, then that's going to make a
big difference, and I think at home, I think the
Vikings get that win.
Speaker 1 (32:53):
Wednesday, right, that's the first seage report.
Speaker 5 (32:56):
Yeah, yeah, well no officially Wednesday after practice like whatever
it looks like. And to your point, must, I mean,
we talk about this defensive front like it's gonna help
tremendously to have our We know that we're probably not
gonna have Ryan Kelly back, but if we can get
everybody else back, it'll be healthy. And Darrisaw, my assumption
(33:18):
is that he's not gonna going to pitch account anymore.
I'm sure that he's gonna let that bye week just
like heal up everything and make sure there is good
to go before he starts taking you know, seventy snaps
a game and being consistent with that. So like, if
we can get those five guys, and if Brandell can
play as well as he played the other.
Speaker 3 (33:36):
The other week, spectacular.
Speaker 5 (33:37):
Yeah, and and we get Aaron Jones back, yeah, I
mean that'll be huge if we can have kind of
a one two punch to a running game. Now, Yeah,
a healthy team is much a much different team for us.
Speaker 2 (33:48):
I can't remember, is Cashman on the eligible to come back?
Speaker 3 (33:52):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (33:52):
I think they opened his twenty one day wak okay.
Speaker 2 (33:54):
So he's eligible to come back. We still don't know
about Van Ginkle, right, and.
Speaker 8 (33:57):
I think Van Ginkle's gonna be a while. You think, yeah,
I think so. It doesn't look good really, but you
are immediate.
Speaker 1 (34:06):
But maybe I dreamed this, Ben, But maybe you have
posted or talked about how well Dallas Turner has played.
Speaker 5 (34:15):
Yes, I mean maybe not from a I have said
some very positive things about his play. Maybe not so
much from a a pass Russian standpoint where Van Ginkel
I think has the edge no pun intended. But I
think I think the way that they're using Dallas Turner
in the way that he's able to it seems like
(34:36):
he's understanding his role so much more. I mean, uh, Hawk,
you and I have talked about him before, Like you
notice him dropping pass coverage and he looks confident dropping
in pass coverage.
Speaker 3 (34:47):
You see him set the edge in the run.
Speaker 5 (34:49):
Game, and he's getting better and better about understanding his
leverage and on on how to play the run on
the outside. Ye and and yes, he's given he's given
you some disruption in the past. Game was as a rusher.
Now it's not as quite as fluid, and I still
think that he needs to work on some things about
attacking the edges and being better technically, but he is
getting some power rushes in there, some bul rushes in there,
(35:11):
like he is affecting the quarterback and moving him off
a spot, and not so much that he's getting the sacks,
but like he's at least getting credit for pressures and
allowing other guys to kind of kind of clean up
some of his deals. So I think when you look
at the overall game is getting so much better now,
we just like to see him become more of a
(35:31):
pure pass rusher as we go along.
Speaker 2 (35:34):
Here from the AP today. Tell me if this seems
accurate to you, guys the sort of Vikings will spend
the week gearing up for their game against the Philadelphia
Eagles on Sunday. The Purple were on a buy this
past week, and they're in third place in the NFC
North with a three and two record. JJ McCarthy is
expected to return a starting quarterback in Week seven. That's
an assumption, don't you believe I.
Speaker 3 (35:53):
Think that's an assumption.
Speaker 5 (35:54):
Yeah, but I think that that I think everything's leaning
and trending that way.
Speaker 2 (35:58):
You really, yes, interesting.
Speaker 1 (36:00):
Yeah, as long as I mean as coach said, is
he said even when back to when you guys were
in London, he needs him to practice a full week,
right and who knows, who knows what he did behind
closed doors last week. I'm sure he was there because
he can be there, right, So who knows. If they
got him in there and they're like, man, this is
a little bit better than we thought. Let's get you
a full week of practice, get the first team reps.
(36:21):
Carson knows enough that if he has to play, he
probably doesn't need to get all of the first team reps.
He's played Philly a bunch, he was on that team.
I know it's completely different from what it was six
seven years ago, but still I think they need to
get McCarthy first place reps.
Speaker 3 (36:36):
I No, I agree, first team. Yeah, I definitely agree.
Speaker 5 (36:40):
You know, we don't know what the status of his
ankle is, but by all accounts, I mean, he's within
He's at the very end of that window of what
they're talking about. It's going to take as far as recovery.
So if he can get out there and he can
take all the first team reps and be the guy
and kind of settle in after this by because they're
(37:00):
going to have a practice today, you know. There it
won't be open to the public, but it'll be like
one of those after the bye let's get everybody, let's
knock the rust off. So there there will be something
on the field today and hopefully if we if we
find out through their gradevine that he took all the
reps today, well that's a great.
Speaker 3 (37:17):
Sign that he's gonna be starting on Sunday. Well.
Speaker 8 (37:19):
And especially if that old line, as you were mentioning before,
if that old line's back, you got b O back,
you got a Darisaw back.
Speaker 5 (37:25):
You know.
Speaker 3 (37:26):
I think if that's the case, then you definitely go
with him.
Speaker 8 (37:30):
I still say, if it's the same setup that they
had going to last week or the last two weeks,
I would I'd keep Carson in instead of JJ. Why
why let that kid take that kind of beating?
Speaker 5 (37:44):
And because you have to, you have to, Unfortunately unfortunately
you can't. I the way I think about it is,
you're always going to be in a situation, whether it's
year one or year ten, to be behind a line
that's banged up, and you're just gonna have to the
thing that I like about him in those situations is
he is more athletic than Carson yep. So if you
(38:07):
have a beat up offensive line and you feel like
you're going to give up some pressures, I'd rather have
a guy that can escape and be creative outside the
pocket than a guy that's a little stiffer inside the
pocket and a little stiffer when he runs. So I
think from a development standpoint, and it gives you the
best options to get out of troubles to have a
more athletic quarterback back there.
Speaker 2 (38:26):
And that's what's the kid's name from New York Dark? Yeah,
he ran against him a lot. He's able to a
lot and got a lot of yards on him.
Speaker 3 (38:33):
So yeah, that guy's fun to watch. Seems to be
fun to watch, right Yeah.
Speaker 2 (38:38):
Crazy. Well, there you go, and one last thing on
this id problems, I'll move on. You don't think there's
any wisdom to letting Wentz have one more start and
then you bring in the kid if need be.
Speaker 5 (38:49):
Well again, they've they have positioned themselves verbally to make
it seem like, listen, we want to make sure that
JJ's getting every single rep with the first team, and
if if there's if his ankle is at eighty five percent,
and they don't feel like he's gonna take all the reps.
I mean they've they've kind of left this door open
(39:09):
four wins to be the guy this Sunday.
Speaker 3 (39:13):
So there's a possibility.
Speaker 5 (39:15):
I just am you know, I'm just hopeful and optimistic
that this is the game that McCarthy comes back.
Speaker 2 (39:19):
Well, I'm gonna throw this out. You tell me your
thoughts starting quarterback cam Aggers brilliant.
Speaker 3 (39:27):
Perfect. I mean, yeah, come on, I know, I think
she's capable.
Speaker 1 (39:31):
It sounds like I think the other thing to your point,
Ben is if you don't start him against the Eagles,
I don't think you're starting him on a short week
in LA exactly. I don't think he plays again until
you play the Lions on November two.
Speaker 3 (39:44):
I think that's a great point.
Speaker 1 (39:45):
I said, if you're not going to play him now,
you're not playing him on a short week.
Speaker 5 (39:50):
Well, we saw what he did on a pseudo personal
short week when he you know, week two, when he
has his baby on what a Tuesday night, Wednesday, misses
a Wednesday practice and then he comes out and lays
an egg, you know, in that next game.
Speaker 3 (40:03):
And that's when he gets injured.
Speaker 5 (40:04):
Like, I can understand why they need this kid needs
every single rep in practice to feel comfortable and confident
going in these games.
Speaker 3 (40:12):
And you're right.
Speaker 5 (40:13):
I mean these the short weeks going into these Thursdays,
they don't even put the pads on. Yeah, it's not
even real life reps in practice. So they'll get done
with their game and they'll quickly watch the film and
they're right back on the field doing these three quarter
walkthroughs and like these these upper those practices were just
like shells on and that's not a great way to
(40:34):
get ready for a game when you're this young.
Speaker 2 (40:37):
I had a great point. I was going to make it.
Speaker 3 (40:38):
I forgot what it was.
Speaker 2 (40:39):
It was just kind of set the world on fire too.
I mean, there's gonna be one of those things for
you guys are like, well, look at the knowledge on that.
Speaker 1 (40:44):
Gu I think we think that what it was.
Speaker 5 (40:47):
But I think I think for me, as we look
at this game coming up, outside of whether the quarter
of the quote unquote quarterback controversy of who's gonna start
to me, the other big storyline is can our defense
finally bow up and stop the run?
Speaker 3 (41:03):
Sure? I mean they've got.
Speaker 5 (41:06):
They've got a huge test against Saquad and we all
know that. But like my gosh, I mean, I know
that statistically, we can be very happy from a thirty thousand.
Speaker 3 (41:15):
Foot view of like our defense is really good. Look
at our look at our numbers.
Speaker 5 (41:20):
Yeah, but I think if you watch the game film
and you watch our team, nobody can be happy with
the performance of our our rush defense and the way
that the way that teams are just slicing through there,
moving the chains consistently, not getting off the field. And
we need to Yes, we're bowing up in the red zone,
but we need to take the ball away more and
we need to stop the run. And can we do
that against this line of this Eagles offense. We'll have
(41:42):
to see.
Speaker 2 (41:43):
Yeah, I remember I was gonna say now, by the way, yeah,
Jordan Addison being back and JJ having a chance to
play with him will help as well.
Speaker 3 (41:51):
I think that'll help as well.
Speaker 5 (41:53):
Again, getting protection up front and having all of your
weapons out there should help.
Speaker 8 (41:59):
Agreed, it seemed like they had a hell of a connect,
but everybody tell the season.
Speaker 2 (42:03):
Yeah, yeah, uh so that'd be great. And man, again,
I know we've had a hard time stop in the
run but we haven't had Cashman, we haven't had Van Ginkle. I.
Speaker 3 (42:10):
I boy, if we could get healthy, that would really
help us all.
