day with us forward.
Speaker 3 (00:11):
Listen up. The ratings just came in for last month.

super duper. That's nice. Fight a goo Nito gay. Yes, boy,
that is good news.
Speaker 4 (00:25):
It is the first day of December, on the first
day of Christmas. My vikings gave to me a rough Monday.
Good morning, everybody. My name is Chris Hockey. Welcome to
the Power Trip Morning Show. Here we are on the
first day of December. Wow, look at that. Huh, what
a game? What a weekend? We do have the acts
though about those gophers? Huh, lots to get to. Liber
(00:47):
will be here, muscle. We'll be hearing the regular cast
of characters. So let's get her started. Shall we hears
Dennis Reagan some Power Trip comedy on a Monday morning?
Speaker 3 (00:55):
Now, you come on in.
Speaker 4 (00:56):
I am glad you are here.
Speaker 1 (00:58):
I was home for Thanksgiving. My I'm sending to the
store to get butter, right, just to buy butter. I
forgot that was something I was capable of doing. I
find the dairy section in the aisle where they have
all the margarine. Then they have all this other stuff.
It's not even margin anymore. I don't know what the
hell it is. I see a touch of butter, move over.
Butter sort of smells like butter. I can't find butter.
(01:18):
I see this stuff called I can't believe it's not butter.
I'm having no trouble believing it's not butter. Nothing here
is butter. They got a product there called Promise. I
don't care if they name it. I swear to God,
I'm not buying it. I ended up about this stuff
called Country Crock. I figured, at least these people are
(01:42):
being honest.
Speaker 4 (02:03):
Signs we.
Speaker 5 (02:06):
Feed us on your side. You hear the distance under okay, yes,
and then you stray.
Speaker 3 (02:20):
He is work.
Speaker 5 (02:21):
Work to take it to the times. Went out to
(02:45):
take it to the time.
Speaker 6 (02:47):
Welcome to the power trop more Enjoy. It's Monday, December
first of twenty twenty five. The Vikings shut out for
the first time in.
Speaker 3 (02:55):
Eighteen years.
Speaker 6 (02:58):
My dad's a math guy, so the sene me texts
saying if you strapolated this game out over seventeen games,
the Vikings would be on pace for zero points, and
then he wanted to know if he wanted I wanted
the math if we did that over a decade or
one hundred years or a thousand years, how many points
(03:20):
they would score?
Speaker 3 (03:21):
I go, I think I got it. Zero zero. Yeah,
that was a rough one. The season of.
Speaker 6 (03:31):
Boring, non competitive games can continues. Not even interesting. That's
the thing that sucks. Right, Let's lose dramatically. Let's lose
with some like Washington did.
Speaker 7 (03:43):
Right.
Speaker 3 (03:45):
God, that game was awful.
Speaker 6 (03:46):
Remember how like back in the day when the Vikes
were on every other game in the markets black that, like,
you can't watch other football games the Vikings are on.
Speaker 3 (03:54):
I wonder how many people switched. Wasn't there another game on?
Speaker 4 (03:59):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (03:59):
There was bills and paper?
Speaker 6 (04:01):
Yeah yeah, I wonder how many people just switched to
Steelers bills and said, forget this this issen.
Speaker 3 (04:09):
I would bet a decent amount. You didn't, no close.
Speaker 7 (04:13):
I was at the boardwalk in Shokape, which is a
great spot.
Speaker 3 (04:18):
I mean our hogs Daddy couldn't have switched it either, though.
Speaker 4 (04:20):
I tried. Yeah, I tried. Man, that's toughy, So.
Speaker 6 (04:28):
What are you doing as the board. Well they're going
to go back to JJ now. But I just mean
in general.
Speaker 3 (04:34):
You just lose out and get a top ten pick. Correct.
Winning now was pointless. Well, they might not have much
of a choice.
Speaker 7 (04:40):
They're they're underdogs to a three and nine Washington team
on Sunday.
Speaker 3 (04:46):
They're one and a half point under.
Speaker 7 (04:48):
Doy Yeah, yeah, yeah, it was. You know, like there
were a lot of people last week and I was
one of I'm saying, it can't get any worse, and
it did, it got worse. I just I think the
(05:10):
kid was putting a really tough spot with no left
tackle or left guard, and then eventually they were played.
Speaker 3 (05:17):
Brian Kelly, was it a hip bit?
Speaker 7 (05:19):
Yeah, yeah, so then you got three backup linemen. I
think the play that killed it was the uh play
action long rollout on fourth and one and you're on
their five or you know, red zone. That was not
the best play to run. But what do I know?
It just wasn't great.
Speaker 3 (05:39):
It's a yeah, they're they're in a really.
Speaker 7 (05:43):
Bad spot because they've got a I mean, I don't
know if you can say a winnable game on Sunday
when you haven't scored a touchdown in six quarters.
Speaker 3 (05:55):
Crap.
Speaker 7 (05:58):
I mean, you're not going to beat Green Bay? Who
you play again? You're not going to beat Detroit? Did
they play Chicago? No, they played them.
Speaker 3 (06:08):
What was the score of the previous week? Didn't we
lose something like something? A six? Yeah? Is that two
field goals?
Speaker 6 (06:14):
Yeah, so it's more than oh yeah, good points eight
plus eight plus?
Speaker 3 (06:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (06:20):
Yeah, that's really bad. That's really bad. Yeah, that's worse
than I thought it was.
Speaker 3 (06:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (06:26):
It's a last five games for the Vikes hosting Washington
at Dallas, at the Giants hosting Detroit, hosting green Bay.
Speaker 3 (06:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (06:37):
If you're a fringe playoff team, you love that situation. Yeah,
but Dallas is red hot. The Giants are playing better Detroit.
You never know which team you're gonna get. Packers are
one of the five or six best teams in the NFL.
That's a pretty brutal schedule. The only one that's super
winnable is this one. And if you're Sunday, if.
Speaker 7 (06:54):
You're a draft guy like I am, you hope the
last game of the season the Packers have something to
played for. Yep, because uh, yeah, Hawk your thoughts, well,
you know.
Speaker 4 (07:11):
I just uh, I'm not sure what we're gonna do now,
don't know our offensive line. We're going to be maybe
down our center, our guard and oer tackle. Our tackle
will decide whether or not he wants to play.
Speaker 3 (07:25):
Yeah, about that.
Speaker 4 (07:27):
We had a healthy scratch and a receiver we gave
a lot for yesterday. I don't know what's going on there.
It's tough, man, because the defense played pretty darn well yesterday.
They held on as long as they could, but the
offense just had nothing. And the overwhelming response to the
people in the know who write about this team and
(07:50):
report on this team was why did you not make
things easier on your young quarterback who not only never
played in a or started, but even hardly played in
a pro game, but wasn't even drafted, and you put
him out there and gave him a Peyton Manning style
offense to try to run instead of a you know,
(08:15):
quarterback X style offense to run you know, the fourth
and one. I mean, why you don't run the ball there?
I have no idea. I'm not saying we would have
won the game there. It just seemed like it was
overwhelming for him. Right, didn't seem like it was overwhelming,
especially considering we had no garden, no tackle.
Speaker 6 (08:37):
And no help in terms of you know, Addison had
the ball, hit him in both hands, he dropped it justin. Jefferson,
even though that ball was behind him, hit him in
both hands, dropped it the interception that went right through
Naylor's hands. Technically, yeah, high, that was a high throw,
but it went right through his hands.
Speaker 3 (08:55):
That's picked off.
Speaker 6 (08:57):
We've been saying this about McCarthy all year long, and
fending McCarthy that look, he's struggling. You gotta help him.
You can't drop the ball if he hits you in stride.
I don't know that first Jordan Addison drop it felt
like it shook the whole team. Yes, like that was
a perfect throw. That was going to be a big strike.
That kid needs that confidence. Let's go. The look on
(09:19):
Brozemer's face afterwards was like, geez, I need that one.
Speaker 3 (09:23):
Let's go. And I'm with you, Chris. I'm glad you
said why don't you run it there?
Speaker 6 (09:27):
Because I think there's a lot of people going back
revisionist history and saying we should have kicked the field goal.
Speaker 3 (09:33):
We needed those points.
Speaker 6 (09:34):
Well, yeah, points are going to be at a premium
and this is a rookie quarterback that's probably a little overwhelmed.
You really, if you can try to win, you really
do need the seven. Yes, it's the play call that
frustrates a lot of us. Like, man, that was an
interesting call on fourth and one. If you can just
get the first there, Man, you got a chance to strike.
But they didn't give it to Mason or whoever they
(09:55):
want to hammer it with. Yeah, and I'll never understand.
It doesn't matter if Brosemer's played a thousand games or two.
I'll never understand. Just underhand, Chucky don't like that, right,
That's he's a smart dude. It doesn't matter who he's playing,
if it's that New Hampshire or the Gophers are in Seattle.
Speaker 3 (10:11):
Like, you don't just blindly submarine chuck it.
Speaker 7 (10:15):
Now.
Speaker 4 (10:15):
Everybody's like, well a young quarterback. I would be pissed
if my junior high quarterback did that.
Speaker 3 (10:20):
He's played plenty of football.
Speaker 4 (10:21):
You know, I mean, like, I understand it's a big
moment and you're trying to make something happen. Don't make
that happen, situoice some awareness.
Speaker 3 (10:29):
Right, just take the sack.
Speaker 4 (10:30):
Just take the sacks man.
Speaker 3 (10:31):
Yeah, and you know you got the three points. Even
if you take that down those four, Oh yeah, that's right,
I forgot it. Just take a sack sack.
Speaker 4 (10:39):
Man.
Speaker 3 (10:39):
Yeah, it's not the end of the world, exactly right,
it's three nothing.
Speaker 4 (10:43):
That changed everything change. I'm not saying we're gonna we're
gonna win the game outside of that. I'm just saying
that that changed the entire demeanor of everything.
Speaker 6 (10:51):
But because the defense, the whole sixty played well enough
to win. The offense, of course, didn't show up at all,
but there were a couple of plays like that. You're going,
all right, this really wasn't a twenty six nothing ass kicking.
It's more like a thirteen nothing ass kicking. Right Like
they beat us, they dominated us. We got nothing done offensively.
(11:11):
But it should have been closer. It really should have been.
You just had a couple of chances to uh, to
stay in the game, and every time you had a
chance to stay in it, you blew it.
Speaker 3 (11:22):
You blew it. Yep.
Speaker 4 (11:24):
So, man, when when Ben gets here, did you guys?
I doubt either of you were listening to the post game,
but we had. Did you hear Jon Taylor?
Speaker 3 (11:33):
Yes?
Speaker 4 (11:33):
Did you hear what he said at the very beginning
of the interview, he said something about the how did
he word it? But he made it seem like the
the the way that the quarterback, oh, the cadencedence, the
Caden line of scrimmage.
Speaker 3 (11:52):
The was it the play calling because he said something
about how.
Speaker 7 (11:55):
Like how you changed the play there was uh miscommunication
And then Eber pressed him on it and he's like, well,
it wasn't like miscommunication.
Speaker 3 (12:04):
It was word Yeah, I know exactly what you know
what I mean.
Speaker 4 (12:06):
Let me see if I can find it real quick,
because I obviously it's back in my cent email here
and I'll play it free because I was just I
and Ben. Ben. By the way, that's a tough job.
Oh yeah, that's a tough job. Although Dallas Turner was
extremely excited to talk to us last night. Yeah, he
was excited.
Speaker 3 (12:25):
You if you follow him on Instagram, you would have
thought they won. Yeah, I know, well, good for him.
Speaker 4 (12:30):
If you could bet on the defensive side of the
locker room, you don't thought they won.
Speaker 3 (12:33):
Yeah, And that's gotta be frustrating.
Speaker 4 (12:35):
It is for them. And I think that I wasn't
in there for the coach speaking, but I'm gonna guess
he went in and gave some dapt to the defense.
Speaker 3 (12:43):
As you should not.
Speaker 6 (12:44):
Again, did you do your job for almost a full
sixty and you shook sam Donold for most of the
game and knock down about ninety different throws that he had.
How about holding the NFL's leading receiver Jackson Smith and
Jigba to two k which is in twenty three yards?
Speaker 3 (13:01):
How about that?
Speaker 6 (13:02):
Right, he's on pace to be the first wide receiver
ever to crack two thousand. Yeah, and you held them
to twenty three yards. Now they did even worse to
Justin Jefferson, right, but still twenty three yards.
Speaker 3 (13:15):
Think got how many.
Speaker 6 (13:16):
Fantasy football teams are like, oh my god, Jackson Smiths
and jigs is gonna light this up. And he did
didn't have a catch to a third quarter. Yeah, yeah,
here's defense did great.
Speaker 4 (13:24):
So Ben just said, what's the level of frustration to
Jalen Right now, this is in the locker room after
the game.
Speaker 8 (13:29):
It's just a matter of everybody doing the job. You know,
we gotta excute better, hear the calls better, and just
play our brand of football. You know, it's definitely frustrated.
Not I'll be able to boo the ball on offense.
I know the defense frustrated, but that's not trying to
help them out. Just to help them when they're off
the field, you know, try to get their rest back.
So we just got a band together and just keep
(13:52):
keep going day by a day. Man's just just try
to improve.
Speaker 9 (13:56):
When you say, hear the calls better, where there issues
with some miscommunication out there.
Speaker 8 (14:00):
I wouldn't say miscommunication, but just hearing a call in
one beat, you know, just hearing it the first time
and then just getting out hearing the quarterback clearly, quarterback
speaking clearly through to all of them.
Speaker 9 (14:10):
Guys, is there anything that you guys can do as
a receiver group to help out Max in the situation
when you know, probably not feeling it. It's not a
couple of interceptions. Offense isn't moving. You can only do
so much. But what can you do.
Speaker 8 (14:25):
Just just keeping their mentally, just try to feed them confidence,
to keep building his confidence up. No matter what's going on,
he's gonna have his downplays.
Speaker 4 (14:33):
And so I do want to know more about that. Yeah,
I want to know, Like at the line of scrimmage,
if you know, if you're switching quarterbacks and the quarterback
is shouting the Declaration of Independence and you're fifteen yards
from him where you play against the twelfth man. I'll
(14:54):
say it again, it's a lot of stadium I've ever
been in this country, not even closed, and you have
to listen to you know, the Gettysburg address and then
run your route. And by the way, you know. Ron
mentioned this on the post game last night, as I
was sitting on the bus by the way, I insult
(15:16):
to injury. One of the buses died before we could
leave the stable, Like, okay, let's just hope the plane
takes off. Anyway, Ron mentioned, it seems like every one
of our routes is go as fast as you can,
as far away from the quarterback as possible, as soon
(15:38):
as he snaps the ball, you know, right.
Speaker 6 (15:41):
Yeah, I believe he said something like where are all
the quick sliants or the beaters?
Speaker 3 (15:46):
Is that what he was saying? The beater routes? I
think he was talking about the beaters off the air.
Speaker 4 (15:52):
And we mixed up the batter and she laid the beater.
Speaker 3 (15:54):
Yeah yeah, Well do you remember this team was foreign?
Remember I have lost four straight therefore, and yeah, yeah,
remember the.
Speaker 7 (16:04):
Last touchdown they scored was the McCarthy one against Chicago
at the end of the game where then they.
Speaker 3 (16:09):
Uh had the lead against one of the best teams
in the NFL.
Speaker 4 (16:13):
That I know what we are gonna do. But is
there anybody who would rather stay with Brozmer next week?
Speaker 7 (16:22):
I mean, I mean, I just don't. I think at
this point it's to pick your poison. I don't think
it matters. I think if whoever you put out there
is in trouble, he gave you.
Speaker 3 (16:34):
No ammunition though, to argue to keep him out there.
Speaker 6 (16:37):
Yea, if he had, if he had done a decent job,
decent job, decent, you could have argued, Man, that's what
we didn't have with JJ. We got to roll with
Max for another week. Let's just see if he's got something.
But if if JJ's healthy, I mean, Max looked overwhelmed, overwhelmed.
Speaker 3 (16:55):
Yeah, so I don't know.
Speaker 6 (16:58):
You didn't You didn't put up a very good debate
to say why you should stay out there for another week.
I think we're damned if we do, damned if we
don't the rest of this year.
Speaker 3 (17:06):
But I don't know.
Speaker 6 (17:08):
Spin the wheel. In fact, why don't they literally spin
a wheel? They should put it on social media. Say good,
if there's a box elder bug just crawling up the
computer right now, probably it's good.
Speaker 4 (17:20):
Let me ask you another question. Did you like the
way Kirk Cousins looked in purple?
Speaker 3 (17:27):
Kirk could sling it? I'm sure Justin Jefferson liked it.
I'm sure. Maybe did you see the hockey gave Sam
Darnald take me with you? Yeah? You know they showed those.
Speaker 6 (17:36):
Stats yesterday with like with Kirk, Jefferson averaged just under
one hundred yards a game, right, like ninety nine?
Speaker 3 (17:43):
What was it? Something like?
Speaker 6 (17:44):
With like Carson Wentz, it was like ninety With Donald
it was like ninety six.
Speaker 3 (17:49):
I'm ballparking it. I might be off by a little bit.
Speaker 6 (17:51):
With McCarthy he averages something like fifty two yards a game,
and with Brozman now he averages four.
Speaker 3 (17:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (17:58):
Wow's so.
Speaker 2 (18:05):
More of the powers your morning show after this, I'm
looking fan not playing with it in the crowd. Not
(18:36):
playing with it in the crowd.
Speaker 3 (18:38):
That's good advice.
Speaker 4 (18:42):
Welcome back, here we are. That's your morning show, Monday,
December one. Guys, here we are. It's December first, and
it feels like it's.
Speaker 6 (18:49):
Freezing sandwiched in between two big events. Right, we were
at All of America on Friday. We're at Shields tomorrow
for to Hell yeah man.
Speaker 3 (18:58):
No, oh no that's true. Yes, for doctor Phil Shields tomorrow.
It would be great.
Speaker 4 (19:03):
Yes, yes, why yes.
Speaker 3 (19:05):
Yes, without any clothes off.
Speaker 6 (19:09):
You know the last like thirty six years. Cam Byam
has joined us at Shields. Buck Necket, not even on
this team. He's doing the Oracle dance for the Colts.
Speaker 4 (19:19):
Yes, he's doing that.
Speaker 3 (19:21):
Yeah, yeah. I wonder who will get.
Speaker 4 (19:26):
Tomorrow buck Necket.
Speaker 3 (19:30):
I don't think so.
Speaker 6 (19:31):
No, Why do I have a feeling we're going to
get like a special teamer right and Depaula kicks As
love that guy.
Speaker 3 (19:42):
That'd be great.
Speaker 6 (19:43):
That'd be Brian Wright's awesome even though we watched his
name that one time. But he's a good dude. What
about Brian O'Neill, who knows he's been on He's great.
Yeah yeah, yeah, well yeah, but there'll be vikings there tomorrow,
they'll be uh maybe Adam feeling maybe you never know
all of this shows camera speaking of all the shows, uh,
(20:03):
you know, shout out to our guy Common. I guess
he put up a fight with the power Trip moving
on in the old podcast radio show bracket that rocket.
Speaker 3 (20:11):
We're squaring off against our guy Ben Maller.
Speaker 4 (20:14):
That's gonna be tough.
Speaker 3 (20:16):
But we beat Common.
Speaker 6 (20:18):
You know, three of the Cafe and shows were invited
to this sixty four team tournament, all honored. We're down
to too because I believe Paul Allam continues to win
as well, that's true, just slaying Colin Coward, uh Dan
Patrick rich Eyes.
Speaker 3 (20:33):
And he just keeps winning.
Speaker 4 (20:35):
He's been fighting you know, yeah, Charlie and Holmes, we've
been fighting Common.
Speaker 3 (20:42):
Yeah, so we're advancing. PA did say.
Speaker 4 (20:47):
That if we did match up against each other in
the finals, that he was calling out all the stops
to try to beat us.
Speaker 3 (20:52):
I believe it.
Speaker 6 (20:53):
Yeah, best of luck, Pa, so he said yesterday, And
I know what a lot of followers on social.
Speaker 4 (20:57):
Media and uh in his it, Mike.
Speaker 3 (21:07):
Yeah, you're a little When did you get home, Hoogs?
Speaker 4 (21:10):
I got in bed. Well I get home at one
thirty one thirty Yeah, damn well there was eighteen feet
of snow in my car and it was frozen.
Speaker 3 (21:20):
Oh yeah, uh so called in sick.
Speaker 6 (21:23):
Remember when Baby faced his entire door all four doors
were frozen shut.
Speaker 3 (21:26):
I'm gonna get in.
Speaker 7 (21:28):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (21:29):
I wanted to so badly, but I got some days
I got to take off here coming up pretty soon,
so I decided come on in. But yeah, I thought
to myself self, they don't need you for this, You
need seepy time. Yeah, but the last here I am
because you know, I don't want anybody to know how
(21:51):
easy it is to do the show without me.
Speaker 3 (21:53):
It is not.
Speaker 4 (21:55):
Uh, I'll tell you what though. Waiting to get off
the tarmac on Saturday to get the Seattle was a
hell of an experience. It's snowing a little bit, and
if you guys noticed that or not, So we sat
there for about an hour and a half.
Speaker 3 (22:14):
What were they waiting for de icing? De icing so
we could dass? Yeah, you guys don't get priority.
Speaker 4 (22:22):
Apparently not. But maybe we did get priority, maybe than
you know.
Speaker 3 (22:27):
I bet you did. Maybe we did. Don't they know
who you are?
Speaker 4 (22:31):
I think they probably do. I think they probably do.
Speaker 3 (22:34):
Where in Seattle? Did you stay?
Speaker 4 (22:37):
Right downtown? They're getting ready for the World Cup? Because
I was like walking around and I was like, Man,
this place is bitching. Where's all the frozen homeless people?
At last time I was out there. It scared the
hell out of me. I thought it was the zombie apocalypse.
Look at homelessness is over. Good job, I was screaming,
good job Seattle.
Speaker 3 (23:00):
The World cuple what soccer? I guess, I guess what.
Speaker 4 (23:07):
You're speaking French?
Speaker 3 (23:10):
Just thought casino? Man?
Speaker 6 (23:17):
Uh so, wait a minute, World Cup in Seattle. Apparently
I have to hear about this.
Speaker 7 (23:23):
Are we sure all over the North American continent? Not
just Mexico eleven through July nineteenth? Uh, Chicago, I think
is our closest ar.
Speaker 3 (23:36):
Kansas City one of the two. Were you close to
a Lucky Dragons?
Speaker 4 (23:42):
I was close to the let it Ride the show
Girls and then right by the what do you call
the the review where the the gentleman dress upers pretty ladies?
Speaker 3 (23:57):
Oh dragon?
Speaker 4 (23:59):
Yeah? Not the churchhots two words that are the same,
couscous church house. What do you call it? Anyway, it
doesn't matter. That's close to that. But in related news,
they have completely built like brand new walkways and stuff.
I don't know, core, have you ever been Seattle?
Speaker 3 (24:15):
Never?
Speaker 10 (24:15):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (24:15):
Okay, sweet, it's really a beautiful place and it's the
most European city on the continent of North America. Just
I wouldn't even say nor European's not fair. It's the
most most other place feeling city in the United States,
in my opinion, just feels like you're in a different.
Speaker 3 (24:33):
Country, more so than New Orleans.
Speaker 4 (24:35):
Much much more so. Really, Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 6 (24:37):
Because that definitely feels French, right, That definitely feels like
you're out of the country.
Speaker 4 (24:41):
Right. This feels like you can be in any different country.
Speaker 3 (24:44):
Okay, I've heard Seattle is awesome.
Speaker 4 (24:45):
It's really awesome. So they built all these different walkways.
They're really getting ready for a huge influx of people
coming in, and I was like, wow, and there's nobody
frozen in time. And then I was told that they
they said right this way, ladies and gentlemen, and they
just put them someplace else. So they still are there.
They just you don't run into as much in in
downtown Seattle. But man, hell of a city. I'd encourage it,
(25:11):
all right. There wasn't as much fun to play this
year as it was last year. Last year was more fun.
Speaker 3 (25:15):
Yeah, that game was great last year. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (25:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (25:20):
So I heard somebody say that we'd be eleventh. Is
that accurate in the draft right now?
Speaker 4 (25:25):
Yes, eleventh, eleventh, Yeah, we could have they seen us.
Speaker 3 (25:30):
We could move up a spot and draft a new quarterback.
Speaker 4 (25:33):
Did you see a movie?
Speaker 3 (25:34):
I think they could. I think, yeah, just I'm unfrozen.
I'll try to start the car. Yeah, thank you. I
think they have a chance.
Speaker 7 (25:44):
I think the highest they could get if everything went
right is the sixth.
Speaker 4 (25:49):
In Unfrozen cave Man Layer.
Speaker 7 (25:52):
But there is a chance they don't win another game
and they end with four wins.
Speaker 3 (25:57):
That would be very good. That would put us in
the mix.
Speaker 7 (26:00):
You need the Giants to win one more game before
they play us, and then you need.
Speaker 3 (26:04):
The Giants to beat us. Nope, oh st what okay?
Speaker 4 (26:09):
Sorry? I think Greg Olsen is going to quit doing
television if he has to do another Vikings game is yeah.
Speaker 3 (26:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (26:14):
You should have seen the look.
Speaker 3 (26:15):
You said yesterday, wouldn't you? It's so true though, right?
Am I wrong?
Speaker 4 (26:18):
I'm a beautiful man woke up, but he always looks
like he just woke up on somebody's couch and he's
not sure he knows who they are, and he's covered
in something.
Speaker 6 (26:27):
You should have seen the way they opened the broadcast
talking about Brosmer though, right, did you see anybody else hear. Yeah,
I didn't hear the audio, but I saw they were
going on and on about how manned is this building?
Love Max Brosmer and you know every coach hypes up
their new untapped talent, but man, do they like this
(26:48):
kid like they They definitely sold it as part of
the story of the broadcast that everybody we've talked to
with the Vikings thinks this kid has a lot of talent. Yeah,
and uh, maybe he does.
Speaker 3 (27:04):
It wasn't yesterday, but maybe he does. I hope he does.
Speaker 4 (27:07):
Well, I'll tell you, oh, I hope JJ does.
Speaker 11 (27:09):
Right.
Speaker 3 (27:10):
Everybody that's dumping on McCarthy and now Brosemer, I want
him both to be awesome. Don't dump on Yeah, don't
dump on either of them. Don't don't dump on one.
Speaker 4 (27:19):
Don't I know you want to. But save something for later. Man,
they ask no.
Speaker 3 (27:25):
No, he's asking your word?
Speaker 4 (27:27):
Is no. One of these days we both have to
learn that.
Speaker 3 (27:30):
No, that's no fun.
Speaker 4 (27:36):
Yeah right, yeah. Anyway, know the reason they opened the
broadcast like that course because that's what they thought. I mean,
I was told by multiple people that they were expecting
really great, maybe not three hundred and fifty and four
touchdowns but certainly not a competency though, and four touch interceptions,
you know, speaking of competency, the voice of the Gophers
(28:00):
is here. Tell us about winning that axe wound.
Speaker 6 (28:04):
All we do is when the want to talk about
that in a second.
Speaker 3 (28:07):
Front page Sports Mike grim is here. Believe it a
little bit. Must later. There's is the power to want
to join the fan.
Speaker 4 (28:23):
Here's your head coach of the Minnesota Vikings.
Speaker 11 (28:26):
You just could not, you know, have a type of
an offensive performance that is ever going to be acceptable,
you know at the Minnesota Vikings organization. And that obviously
starts with me. And it's not about any one particular
player or position. It's a collective group thing right now
where we just are not good enough and to overcome
some of the things that we're doing.
Speaker 4 (28:46):
And here's the law talking about the one thing they
keep telling Rosie but that he won't stop doing.
Speaker 3 (28:50):
Not playing with it in the crowd.
Speaker 4 (28:54):
That's the law.
Speaker 3 (28:55):
You're going to stop doing that, Rosie.
Speaker 4 (28:56):
He won't stop doing it.
Speaker 3 (28:58):
Well, he fought the law and the law won.
Speaker 7 (29:00):
Yeah, but he gave her Hell is he welcome back
at the fair next year?
Speaker 3 (29:04):
I don't believe so, Which is okay. He hates the
fair anyway, usually has something. I wonder if he.
Speaker 6 (29:09):
Did it at the fair, just so he would never
be asked back like that. Well he's always asked back. Yeah,
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (29:17):
Here's what they kept saying, stop it.
Speaker 3 (29:20):
He doesn't. All right, Let's do Front Page Sports because
Mike Grim's here.
Speaker 12 (29:23):
And that's now for Front Page Sports.
Speaker 3 (29:28):
Holiday stations. Holiday station stores.
Speaker 6 (29:30):
You can still get Celsius two for five, including that
new sprits vive, but you can mix and match any
of your favorite twelve and sixteen ounce Celsius varieties. Stay Sharp,
Feel Good, Wake Up two for five bucks only a
holiday Thanks Holiday holiday now, alight, let's not Let's not
(29:51):
talk about the Vikings for a second, because that's a cesspool.
The Gophers beat the Badgers seventeen to seven to win
Paul Bunyan's acts Drake Lindsay with ninety yards and a touchdown,
but the fourth win in five years over Wisconsin. Something
called John Nester had two interceptions and a fumble recovery
(30:14):
for Minnesota. The Gophers now lead the all time series
by a game sixty four, sixty three and eight, and
even better, this is now the second consecutive year that
Wisconsin will miss a bowl game after making twenty two straight.
The Gophers also went seven and oh at home. That
is their first unbeaten home schedule since nineteen sixty seven.
Speaker 12 (30:36):
Yeah, and it's like their first seven and o homes
since like the nineteen thirties when they played high school teams.
Speaker 3 (30:42):
You know, well, we'll take it. Yeah, take take whatever
you can get. It was fun.
Speaker 12 (30:45):
It was snowy, the crap I couldn't believe the student
section was full. I don't know what got into him,
other than maybe alcohol. And it was loud. It was
so loud. At one point, the Wisconsin team snapped it
right after PJ called the time out. All the refs
are blowing the whistle, the quarterback is rolling out, he
gets hit. All the Wisconsin fans want to lay or
(31:08):
late hit or unnecessary roughness.
Speaker 3 (31:10):
Nobody could hear the whistle.
Speaker 12 (31:11):
It was just one of those crazy It's like a
snow globe game, and anytime you beat Wisconsin it gets
people fired up. Late in the game, they're playing songs
over the over the PA system and everybody's singing along
like it's a like it's a karaoke night. At the ballpark.
It was one of the best atmospheres I've ever seen.
It was crazy, and you beat Wisconsin, so that's good too.
(31:33):
Snow game, it was tough. Forty nine yard touchdown run
by Taylor gives him the lead, and then they basically
never looked back. There was really one long play right
before halftime that set Wisconsin up, and then a controversial
touchdown that maybe the guy was out, maybe he was in.
They ruled it incomplete and then overturned it. That was
their only touchdown. So yeah, anytime you beat Wisconsin, you
(31:55):
enjoy that. Yeah, it's really nice to see them struggling.
Speaker 4 (32:00):
They were jumping around stuff.
Speaker 3 (32:01):
They paid Luke Fickele a billion dollars. It's been an
absolute disaster.
Speaker 12 (32:05):
Yeah, yeah, they they they were playing better. Like like,
I think we probably underestimate the win they because Wisconsin's
record was four and seven, they were coming off of
two of three wins, or they had won two of three,
both against ranked teams, and their defense was playing better
and their defense was still pretty good. Their offense had
been pretty inet most of the year. Even in the
win against Washington. Their leading passer was their punter, who
(32:27):
had a twenty four yard completion on a fake punt
in that Washington win in Magic they want to play
for the Vikings. Next Kings available, Sean West can do
that their punter. But it was so it's a decent win.
It's a decent win. And any win over Wisconsin you
take the X days here and like you say, Corey
four or five. I got to town in six. So
(32:48):
this is my twentieth year and it was fourteen straight.
Nobody ever thought the Gophers would win the Acts, and
now here they are kind of claiming a little control
of the series. You know, it's nice four or five even,
we'll see what happens. I had on right now with
an ore and yeah, I wore that just for you guys.
This is from Legendary. Uh, and it has an ore
(33:09):
and an axe and an axe. I've heard there's a
specific name for it, but uh, the good folks at
Legendary make it.
Speaker 3 (33:15):
So I thought, I think the playing the film wore
next week Hell of a Bear, Yeah, hell of a
Band or Mumford and Son's cover band. Is that what
they do? So the Govers will play in the what
raising Canes? Or what if the media meal was chicken
fingers from raising.
Speaker 9 (33:35):
It.
Speaker 3 (33:35):
If we give you, we'd give you a segment on
the pregame show just to I don't want to do that. Yeah,
come on, what if it's in Vegas? What if it
could be Vega?
Speaker 12 (33:45):
I mean, I'm going to say there's an eight percent
to twelve percent chance.
Speaker 3 (33:48):
It could be Vegas.
Speaker 4 (33:49):
It was Did you hear my joke?
Speaker 11 (33:50):
No?
Speaker 3 (33:51):
No, no, say it again.
Speaker 4 (33:52):
So what if it was the raising Canes Coal Slow Bowl, Well.
Speaker 12 (33:56):
I probably I'd go, but I would not get the
cold stow.
Speaker 3 (33:59):
You just swap it off.
Speaker 12 (34:02):
I'd rather I'd rather play the raisin Canes no slaw,
extra fries bowl.
Speaker 4 (34:07):
I'd rather play traffic, no extra.
Speaker 3 (34:10):
Don't you get the extra toast? You have to go
extra toast?
Speaker 12 (34:13):
But whatever you sauce, well everyone gets extra sauce. That
sauce is remarkable, the best. You don't eat the sauce
to you've never had it. I know, it's unbelievable, it's
really good.
Speaker 3 (34:24):
Why don't they have a ball.
Speaker 7 (34:27):
Imagine they you know, like the way the Duke's Male
bowl does the male thing.
Speaker 3 (34:31):
You imagine just drowning.
Speaker 13 (34:33):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (34:35):
Sauce. Have them eat chicken fingers for ducting on thanksgetting.
Speaker 4 (34:40):
Why would they have a ball right give away chicken.
Speaker 3 (34:43):
It doesn't have to be the sauce. I like the ball, but.
Speaker 4 (34:47):
There's no beef for balls.
Speaker 3 (34:49):
You just like fluids being dumped. You do like other men.
Speaker 4 (34:52):
I've seen it on whoever Ye and that's, by the way,
something you should be more discriminating.
Speaker 3 (34:59):
Yeah, probably, so maybe more discreete too. You tell what's
the most likely scenario where we go?
Speaker 12 (35:07):
I think I think it'll be either the Music City
Bowl or the Rate Bowl in Phoenix.
Speaker 4 (35:15):
Whoa Rate, whoa?
Speaker 3 (35:18):
Whoa?
Speaker 4 (35:19):
Where's that at?
Speaker 6 (35:20):
Yeah? You know, starting to sound like a pretty decent idea.
Speaker 3 (35:25):
It's just just except the coal salt.
Speaker 4 (35:28):
We're going to the cool cigarettes boll And Anderson.
Speaker 6 (35:32):
Rael Rate Bowl or the Music City But that's what
I think.
Speaker 12 (35:38):
Those are the two most likely. Probably i'd give the
edge to Phoenix, which is the day after Christmas.
Speaker 3 (35:42):
Not ideal. I'll tell you what though, the Vegas.
Speaker 12 (35:45):
I if they somehow the big ten finagles it that
Minnesota can get into the Vegas Bowl that's on New
Year's Eve in Vegas at like it's a two thirty kickoff.
Speaker 7 (35:55):
So you have to go, Yeah, jumped the plane so
in essence, the Gophers are fighting with Nebraska.
Speaker 3 (36:05):
Illinois. Uh, who else is in that mix? Penn State.
Speaker 6 (36:12):
Letter to somebody, You're you're an Illinois guy. Huh, you
go Illinois.
Speaker 3 (36:16):
That's how they say in Illinois? Is that right? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (36:18):
But we're not there right now.
Speaker 12 (36:20):
We're not there, right I also say Wisconsin, which every
now and then people get mad about Wisconsin.
Speaker 3 (36:24):
Was like an e Yeah, yeah, you should talk to sauce.
You guys pronounce words sometimes. So here's they Now we're
going down this road.
Speaker 12 (36:33):
Let's go so in in Illinois, that's how they Pronouncellinois.
Speaker 3 (36:37):
Illinois. Sure.
Speaker 12 (36:38):
I worked in Saint Louis in a studio and I
looked out the window. I saw the state of Illinois.
So we had all kinds of listeners. In five years
of hosting a show on America's Sports Voice, not one
time did I get a call about how I pronounced Illinois,
because people in Illinois that's how you pronounce it. I
moved to Minnesota, and almost every time we play Illinois,
(36:59):
there's fifty people tweeting, yeah, learn how to say it.
Speaker 3 (37:03):
I'm like saying it like people who live there say it.
Say I say it. You like American sasons.
Speaker 6 (37:08):
Yes, yes, it's interesting because I say Illinois for sure
with an eye.
Speaker 3 (37:13):
Yeah, Illinois, not how they say it there. Listen to
P PJ. Grew up in Chicago. He and I say
it the same way. Oh, well, you're wearing the ore
in the ax a. What do you guys can smell it?
But that said, there's in Missouri Misuri. I guess we don't.
I don't you know?
Speaker 4 (37:28):
Horror in the Act.
Speaker 3 (37:29):
Yeah, the horror in the Axe.
Speaker 4 (37:30):
Yes, my god.
Speaker 3 (37:32):
It's a new series in HBO.
Speaker 4 (37:34):
A Serial Killer.
Speaker 3 (37:36):
Yeah, it's like.
Speaker 6 (37:37):
Dexter and Taxi Cab Confessions combined. Sir Hulu, it's HBO Max,
HBO Max very nice.
Speaker 4 (37:43):
Can we at least get it on before she chops
me up?
Speaker 11 (37:45):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (37:46):
Yeah, she does that.
Speaker 7 (37:47):
Yeah all right, and if your performance is bad, she
kills you.
Speaker 3 (37:50):
No, it's like an either way, what's your last meal?
Speaker 4 (37:56):
You do I have to pay her if she kills No, but.
Speaker 3 (37:59):
She'll steal your like grand thefty exactly.
Speaker 6 (38:02):
Hey, stayed in college football, Ole miss head coach Lane
Kiffin is leaving for LSU.
Speaker 4 (38:07):
That's not the biggest news. How about Michigan State.
Speaker 3 (38:10):
Yeah, that's that's something as well.
Speaker 6 (38:12):
Pat Fitzgerald back in the big tenant looks like but
I mean, the Lane Kiffin thing is gigantic because Ole
Miss is eleven and one and they're not going to
let him coach the playoff with old Miss. It sounds
like he really wanted to, but they're like, not get
lost if you're leaving. And he actually I saw him
on ESPN this morning. He actually was like, I totally
(38:34):
respect it. I wanted to. I would have liked to
have been at that meeting. I would have liked to
argue my chance to do it. But if they don't
want me to do it, I respect that choice and
we'll move on. Bloomington Jefferson's own. Yeah, Lane Kiffin h
twelve million a year. Yeah, twelve million year. I mean,
you know an Ole Miss isn't going to probably be
able to match that. So it's like having a powerball ticket.
Speaker 3 (38:56):
Are they hiring the defensive quarter?
Speaker 12 (38:57):
They've made him the permanent coach too. Yeah, maybe it'll
be like Steve Fisher, right, remember when when he won
the national title? Dad, uh yeah, he Bill Frieder was
the coach of the team he took the Arizona State
track and and when he left for.
Speaker 3 (39:13):
Arizona's making the name he wanted to annoy, Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 12 (39:17):
He wanted to coach the team, and Bo Sham Beckler
was the a d at Michigan said, a Michigan man
is going to be coaching the team. So he elevated
Steve Fisher from assistant and they won it all.
Speaker 3 (39:29):
I may have made that up.
Speaker 12 (39:31):
So maybe maybe old missile win it all with I
don't even know what the guy's name.
Speaker 3 (39:35):
Is, Duckworth, Trenton, Dowork. He's famous. I think they're in
good hands.
Speaker 13 (39:42):
Yeah, one package, Yeah, m hm, greasy, yeah, Kiffin crazy Gerald.
Speaker 12 (39:57):
That's an interesting hire, great coach. Yeah, but he's got,
you know, the the deal with with why he was fired,
with the hazing that that could linger for him trying to.
Speaker 3 (40:07):
Recruit as it. We'll see.
Speaker 12 (40:11):
I think it's I would say leaning towards that's a
good hire. I think Michigan State will be better and
it couldn't get worse.
Speaker 3 (40:18):
Yeah, it might be. That's probably the best guy they
could have hired. I don't I don't know. I think
that was interesting anything, but whoa that was the hazing?
Speaker 6 (40:27):
My grand Yes, Pat Fitzgerald was the Northwestern head coach
for seventeen seasons.
Speaker 3 (40:34):
Right, seventeen seasons? Really?
Speaker 6 (40:36):
Yeah, two hundred and eleven games. How many of the
two hundred and eleven games did he win?
Speaker 4 (40:44):
Three final answers?
Speaker 3 (40:46):
One hundred ten?
Speaker 6 (40:52):
Did you read that, because that's the exact number, one hundred.
Speaker 3 (40:55):
And ten I saw he was. He was one ten
and one o one.
Speaker 7 (41:00):
I know.
Speaker 11 (41:00):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (41:00):
But you know what's not, say, Northwestern, that's pretty damn good.
Speaker 6 (41:03):
But I'm just saying That's what's interesting is everybody's like, man,
what a great coach there.
Speaker 3 (41:07):
Sure he's essentially a five hundred games.
Speaker 12 (41:10):
Yeah, worse like in Big ten play, right, I think,
I mean, I think he's either add or under five hundred,
thank you, But he's won. I think he won what
two or three Big ten titles or at least division titles.
He won the West a couple of times, and then
he just they just fell off the face of the earth.
They were like two and sixteen and Big ten plays
last two years.
Speaker 3 (41:29):
I thank you. That was part of it, in the
whole thing.
Speaker 12 (41:33):
That was part of why they were trying to get
rid of a legend, so that hazing thing became a
convenient way, and then it got to be a big mess.
Speaker 6 (41:40):
I'd like to haze the hell out of sauces Canes.
Speaker 13 (41:44):
Every day, every day, every day I have GD day.
Speaker 3 (41:51):
Thank you every g D day.
Speaker 4 (41:54):
That's from Weird Science.
Speaker 3 (41:56):
I don't think I've ever seen that either, do it?
It's science. One of the great shows, is it?
Speaker 12 (42:02):
Anthony Michael Haller, that guy that his run of shows
when he was young. He was so he's so talented. Breakfast,
I mean the scene, the scene in the bar and
Weird Science with the.
Speaker 4 (42:15):
Dudes cannot hold this smoke.
Speaker 3 (42:16):
Oh my god, when he's going on the telephone. What
this guy talking about telephone?
Speaker 12 (42:21):
It's unbelievable, how how good that was. And now he
was in Reacher. You wouldn't recognize him.
Speaker 3 (42:26):
I think he was also in Freddie Got Fingered if
I remember, right?
Speaker 14 (42:29):
Was he?
Speaker 3 (42:29):
Yea, I think he was. Somebody looked that up here.
Speaker 4 (42:32):
Ach. It's about the heavy brother.
Speaker 3 (42:39):
He was.
Speaker 12 (42:40):
He was in sixteen Candles and uh, I mean he
had just a run of shows.
Speaker 3 (42:44):
But Weird Science was was pretty good.
Speaker 4 (42:45):
My favorite was Johnny uh Johnny be Good, Johnny be
Good where he's the high school quarterback. Yeah yeah, Oh,
he had Robert Downey Jr. In that one as well.
Isn't it weird how Robert Downey Junr. Was like his
his dog that he brought along to all the movies
and forced him to hire and now big deal.
Speaker 3 (43:01):
Yeah, total, big deal.
Speaker 12 (43:04):
I think he probably that that run of shows probably
pigeon holed him into certain roles.
Speaker 3 (43:09):
Maybe yeah, I remember, yeah, you know exactly.
Speaker 4 (43:14):
I mean when you pigeonhold that guys.
Speaker 3 (43:16):
Oh yeah, yeah, Zach, I'm asking for a friend, just
so I know for the future. Can you point to
my pigeonhole and then leave it alone? Turn around? Okay,
well that narrows.
Speaker 6 (43:32):
Okay, that's so.
Speaker 3 (43:43):
Brilliant.
Speaker 6 (43:45):
Ben Leber should be joining in like ten minutes or so.
Hopefully you can explain why the Vikings are terrible. This
is the Power Show on the Fan.
Speaker 7 (43:54):
K F A N and the Minnesota Vikings are teaming
up for Toys for Top to join us live in
Eden Prairie at Shields tomorrow starting at five thirty am.

Speaker 4 (44:26):
Man, did you guys ever eat beanie? Whenies all the time?
That all?
Speaker 3 (44:31):
I love them? Yeah? Well yeah, okay, just wondering.
Speaker 4 (44:35):
No, yeah, yeah, I mean they came in their own
little can. Well okay, hi, everybody stop, be cool little
can yeah, okay, I'm as stop now, wow.
Speaker 3 (44:50):
I'm sorry. Chris rotten Hawk. I would not only eat that.
Speaker 4 (44:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 14 (44:56):
When I was a kid, I put I basically ate
hot dogs. I lived off of hot dogs. Now at
times I think it made me sick. Sure, but yit whoa,
I would agree, I would eat I would eat them
right out of the package.
Speaker 3 (45:10):
Okay, cool?
Speaker 4 (45:11):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 14 (45:17):
You know some of the oscar Ma ones that they had,
the little they had definitely had the little zipper pouch,
so I just unzip it. Yeah yeah, shoot, I might
even pull out two at a time.
Speaker 3 (45:25):
I did.
Speaker 4 (45:30):
That was the I believe the original definition of raw dog,
and it.
Speaker 3 (45:34):
Was Yeah, I think it was. I was.
Speaker 14 (45:38):
If I had social media back then, I would let
everybody know because I had heard that you invented raw dogging. Yeah,
that's exactly it unofficially, officially, in all seriousness, definitely went
into my mac and cheese. I probably had probably had
mac and cheese five times a week. Yeah, the hot
dogs and the mac and cheese the best.
Speaker 3 (45:57):
Yea, so good.
Speaker 4 (45:58):
Yeah, let me tell you something, miss sure. Yeah, that
taste of that powdered cheese is unlike anything else on
this I can't say it's good, but I love it.
Speaker 3 (46:05):
Oh it's cracked. Well, it doesn't exist in nature.
Speaker 4 (46:08):
Yeah that's right. Yeah, that's right. That's not a real taste.
Speaker 3 (46:11):
No, it's an abomination.
Speaker 7 (46:12):
Yeah, no, bleep, you Satan, get out of here.
Speaker 3 (46:19):
There is no mac and cheese like that mac and cheese. No,
it's great.
Speaker 4 (46:22):
Yeah, it doesn't make sense.
Speaker 3 (46:24):
It doesn't make any sense to me.
Speaker 4 (46:25):
I know, old coach of some team, coach of the wild.
Speaker 6 (46:29):
That's right, Hey, Ben, I'd like to read a couple
of things for you if you don't mind.
Speaker 3 (46:33):
Viking No.
Speaker 6 (46:42):
Eleven hours ago, Sauce tweeted, if Justin Jefferson demands a
trade this SAFT season, you must get two first round
picks for him, rock Bottom.
Speaker 3 (46:54):
You must.
Speaker 14 (46:55):
Well, I don't disagree with that, I mean, you probably
need to get two first round draft picks for a
Hall of Fame wide receiver.
Speaker 4 (47:00):
And he does have a rocky bottom. He does.
Speaker 3 (47:02):
He does, Yeah, and Ben must a little bit, doesn't he.
Speaker 4 (47:06):
Would you leave him alone with his.
Speaker 6 (47:09):
Are you concerned that Justin Jefferson will demand to trade
this offseason?
Speaker 3 (47:15):
I wasn't.
Speaker 14 (47:15):
I wasn't really until yet. Yesterday sort of pushed me
over the edge. I kind of pushed me over the
edge with a lot of things like this last week
is kind of pushed me over the edge with a
lot of things. But you know, I hope he doesn't.
But can we would we all be understanding if he did.
I think I'd understand if he did, if he looked
(47:37):
at the future of this team, who's gonna throw him
the football? And he sees what he sees right now,
and you look, you look around and you project what's
available this off season, which is not much other than
Mac Jones, maybe.
Speaker 3 (47:49):
Jacoby Brissett, everybody.
Speaker 14 (47:51):
And Brissette's played out of his mind, but he probably
played himself into a starting role in Arizona. And they're
going to get rid of Kyler Murray. So I don't
I don't know if that's and Kyler Murray. Murray is
certainly not a quarterback that I'd won on this team,
So thanks, little job. So it leaves you with the
(48:12):
only tangible guide to fit in the system as Mac Jones.
And there's no guarantee that he's he's going to be successful.
There's no guarantee that he's gonna have a year like
Sam Darnold, which I know it's hard to repeat every
single year, but I think that's sort of the benchmark
and the standard that we're looking for at this point
in time. So if that's your only option and you
(48:34):
swing and miss on that, then I would understand. We're like,
I don't know, man, do I want to spend the
next couple years crossing my fingers that the ball is
gonna be hit in the chest?
Speaker 6 (48:49):
Ago saw sweeted this team needs a full rebuild, hit
rock bottom and move on winning games. The rest of
the way is pointless, bottom out and start over. And
then he attached that to a gift of Emperor Palpatine.
Speaker 14 (49:02):
Wow, dude, I stand by that. So can you explain
to me how you can how you can.
Speaker 4 (49:10):
Attach a gift?
Speaker 3 (49:11):
Well, you talk about my dad figured that out. He's
eighty seven, Louie can do that. What was the line
where he said his.
Speaker 6 (49:22):
Team needs hit rock bottom and move on winning games.
The rest of the way is pointless, bottom out and
start over. That's a direct quote from a journalist meets us,
Paul Lambert.
Speaker 14 (49:31):
Well, if we hit, if we bottom out, aren't we
You already said that we're on rock bottom.
Speaker 3 (49:37):
This is before I said rock bottom. I was in
a round.
Speaker 14 (49:39):
Now this is the same, This is the same text,
this is the same sentence.
Speaker 6 (49:44):
Yeah, you said, I hit rock bottom and move on
winning games. The rest of the ways pointless, bottom out
and start over.
Speaker 14 (49:50):
Yeah, I know you want us to bottom out and
start over. But you said you're already hit rock bottom.
I think yesterday was rock bottom. I don't think get
any worse than yesterday.
Speaker 3 (49:58):
That's what you said last week? Would you? But what
I'm saying, But what are we at the bottom? Or do
they keep going?
Speaker 7 (50:04):
Keep somebody who's hit rock bottom multiple times in their lives,
it can always get worse. And this is what's happening
with the Minnesota Vikings. It's the bottom of like the dumpster,
it's the bottom of the.
Speaker 3 (50:18):
What else can something have a bottom of them. It's
the bottom of the biffy.
Speaker 7 (50:23):
It's the bottom of I mean it's the bottom of
a strip club at like two am when everybody's left
and good time.
Speaker 6 (50:30):
Yeah that's prime time. No, I meant like two pm.
Oh that's rock Bottom, that's and rosies there, that's rock
bott Just uh yeah, it's over.
Speaker 3 (50:40):
This is bad. This is a.
Speaker 7 (50:43):
Cesspool of despair is what this team is. Wow, it's
so bad. At least the defense is fundlach and and
and I. When I'm wrong like to tell everybody that
I was wrong. They have something in Dallas. Kid can
play football.
Speaker 3 (51:01):
He's playing, he's playing well the last three weeks. He
can play. I was wrong about that.
Speaker 4 (51:07):
Look at you.
Speaker 3 (51:08):
Yes, what a big move. Yeah, I was wrong about that. Dallas.
I apologize, Oh you got he.
Speaker 4 (51:15):
Got an apology, He got an apology. Or were you
talking to the city in Texas?
Speaker 3 (51:19):
See, you'll never know that.
Speaker 6 (51:21):
Twelve hours ago you tweeted, we can put the we'd
be better with brozmur nonsense to bed.
Speaker 3 (51:27):
Yeah we can. It's over that to be right. Weren't
you a part of that though?
Speaker 7 (51:31):
Too?
Speaker 4 (51:31):
Yeah? You were, you were you were, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (51:33):
But that's not what yeah, but sure, I don't was
I yeah, sure, but I also said it can't get
any worse, and it did. It got worse. It's worse.
Speaker 7 (51:42):
It got At least we got six points with McCarthy.
Speaker 6 (51:46):
Thirteen hours ago, Ben Saws tweeted, Brosmer is used to
running the ball when losing to a good opponent, and
with a gift of Forrest Gump waving.
Speaker 3 (51:55):
Wait, I thought, I thought you guys made amends whom
whom whom?
Speaker 6 (52:00):
No, he apologized to PJ, but then immediately went back.
Speaker 3 (52:02):
To these oldys.
Speaker 4 (52:05):
You're got a problem with the Kansas City quarterback?
Speaker 3 (52:07):
Yeah? And Mahomes.
Speaker 7 (52:08):
Yeah, I don't a problem with anybody. I just we
have to move on. We have to be better. We
have to not be okay with being okay. This town
loves being okay.
Speaker 6 (52:20):
Fifteen hours ago, Sauce tweeted a picture of Christian Ponder.
Speaker 3 (52:23):
Yeah, have you found one of those?
Speaker 4 (52:27):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (52:27):
That was actually yeah, the gifts.
Speaker 6 (52:29):
Fourteen hours ago, you tweeted, he's used to running it
on third and long.
Speaker 3 (52:33):
Yeh, that's true, though, he is, That's true. My favorite
tweet of today.
Speaker 6 (52:39):
My favorite tweeted today from Sauce was a retweet, Actually,
your lovely wife fourteen hours ago tweeted the way the
announcer is saying charbon is how I thought people would
say Berkeley Lamberts hashtag fancy.
Speaker 4 (52:51):
That's what a great tweet.
Speaker 3 (52:55):
And she's not wrong, She's not wrong, No, Zach Sharbane,
Yeah we did, we did. Yeah again. Yeah, man, we
just really entertained our Yeah. Yeah, you had to. That
game sucked, hey Grimmer, Yes, sir, how after hear it? After?
How you after the way.
Speaker 14 (53:16):
That you say Illinois, Illinois, Illinois, Illinois? How would you
pronounce the Washington Commanders quarterback Marcus.
Speaker 6 (53:26):
Well, it's always been Mariota, right, Well, I want to
hear you say Maria.
Speaker 12 (53:31):
But did they change it yesterday? I saw people tweeting
about that. I think they did.
Speaker 7 (53:35):
Yeah, yeah, the way he said it, because they do
the Sunday Night football like they all introduced themselves in
the way he said Mariota, Mariota.
Speaker 3 (53:46):
And then pronunciation.
Speaker 7 (53:48):
Then yeah, Collinsworth followed suit, but then Tariko didn't and
for the most of the game and then kind of
started working it in.
Speaker 6 (53:56):
I will just I use this example all the time
because it felt like it was a years later but
if somebody, if the nation is mispronouncing your name, you
got to get it out immediately. The worst one ever
and the only one who has a chance of remember
remembering this name, is Grimmer.
Speaker 3 (54:13):
But Dan gad Zurich, way.
Speaker 6 (54:16):
Back in the day was a basketball player, and it
was Dan gad Zurich for years and years and years
and years, and then like seven eight years later, one
day he just went to a I don't remember if
it was a podium or a locker room interview.
Speaker 3 (54:26):
He's like, by the way, it's a it's gads are
reach And we're like, the f it is?
Speaker 6 (54:32):
You should have told us eight years ago. We're not
saying gads are reached. Now it's gad Zurich. You're eight
years late, buddy, Moving on.
Speaker 4 (54:39):
You guys have mispronounced my name years that Chris Bigicky.
I doubt saying it wrong the whole time, and I
feel bad correcting you. But now again, how do you
say it? The whole family has been upset, I mean
the whole it's like selling. There's a lot of softness
(55:05):
to it, yeah, very much, but it's called outside to it.
Speaker 3 (55:07):
Yeah, charbonnet.
Speaker 14 (55:10):
In all seriousness, sounds like we've been saying Blake Brendel
wrong the whole time too.
Speaker 3 (55:14):
It's not no, it's it's the brindle. It's Brandle, Brandle
Randall and how brand Yeah.
Speaker 14 (55:22):
It's like Randall, what to be Brandle, not Brandelland yes
we got that correction.
Speaker 12 (55:28):
Yeah, yeah, you guys remember the probably not. But there
was a Gopher kick returner named Troy stout Ameer's how
we set it for four years and he was gonna
break the all time kick return yardage record in college football,
which is not a great record to have because it
means you're receiving a lot of kickoffs. And we were
going to set up an interview, so we called. We
called him in the sports information office. Four years, it's
(55:48):
been Troy Stottlemeyer and that's how it's spelled. And we
listened to the voicemail, Hello you for reach a voicemail
of Troy Stude Meyer.
Speaker 3 (55:53):
Stude, which is not how it should be spelled.
Speaker 12 (55:56):
So I asked him. He said, yeah, that's how it's pronounced.
He said, why don't you say anything? Is that started
that way?
Speaker 3 (56:00):
So I it's yeah, I pronounce it.
Speaker 12 (56:03):
In the game that he sets the all time record
student Meyer and everyone loses their.
Speaker 3 (56:07):
Mind, like, how don't you know it? How don't you
know how to pronounce it? I'm like, well, that's that's
how he said.
Speaker 6 (56:11):
I was if I if I were you at that point,
I would have just left it and said the guy should
have told us.
Speaker 3 (56:15):
Four years ago.
Speaker 7 (56:15):
It's his fault, our guy, Jason, who was in town
on Saturday. Jason Zucker has many highlights from the first
part of his career as Jason Sucker before he finally yeah, corrected,
finally correct Tony Dorset.
Speaker 12 (56:28):
It was Tony Dorset when he won the Heisman Trophy,
and then when he got to the Cowboys he changed
it to Tony Dorset.
Speaker 3 (56:33):
Oh, it was Dorset at Dorset.
Speaker 4 (56:35):
I feel better killed it.
Speaker 3 (56:38):
Berkeley Lambert? Yeah? And what was yours? Chris? What's your
last name?
Speaker 13 (56:42):
Now?
Speaker 5 (56:43):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (56:46):
Is next? More of the Power Trip Morning Show. You're
home in the Minnesota Vikings.

Hey Ben, Yes, sweetheart.
Speaker 4 (57:24):
Please, for once in your life, just be honest about
this for me. Did that delicious, unrivaled chicken cheese steak
give you the worst cast in America?
Speaker 13 (57:34):
No?
Speaker 3 (57:34):
I actually did not.
Speaker 4 (57:35):
I am beef I would be.
Speaker 14 (57:38):
Yeah, you talked about the chicken cheese. I think by
the time I went through the line, they didn't. They
think they were out of the chicken. So I just
got the beefy and then they had the veggie. There's
a veggie sandwich too, but I'm like, I skipped that.
Speaker 3 (57:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (57:52):
No, man, let me tell you something. That's the best sandwich.
I look forward to that. That's my favorite. But you
told me, yeah, you.
Speaker 3 (57:58):
Told me that after in the locker room back. I
can't wait for that.
Speaker 4 (58:01):
Well, I needed something good to think about, I know
the same.
Speaker 3 (58:04):
So was that a sandwich from like a local Seattle place?
Speaker 7 (58:06):
Yeah?
Speaker 14 (58:07):
Yeah, yeah, it didn't have I didn't see where it
was actually from because it was all just wrapped in
that like white kind of butcher paper stuff.
Speaker 3 (58:14):
Where is it from? Hawk?
Speaker 4 (58:16):
It smells in here like it was from Beanos?
Speaker 3 (58:20):
Is that?
Speaker 7 (58:20):
I mean?
Speaker 12 (58:21):
You guys seem to make a yearly trip not of
Seattle for about a million years like that? Is it
the same sandwich always every year?
Speaker 3 (58:26):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (58:27):
And that cheesy chicken cheese steak? Oh my god? M yeah, and.
Speaker 3 (58:31):
Yeah it's not good in here. I can tell you.
Speaker 4 (58:33):
I apologize, but you came in here willingly?
Speaker 3 (58:36):
Was it mixed with eggs? What's the deal?
Speaker 4 (58:38):
What happened?
Speaker 3 (58:40):
Ben? What pissed you off?
Speaker 7 (58:41):
More?
Speaker 6 (58:42):
The actual game or your inability to watch the Fantastic Four.
Speaker 3 (58:45):
On the flat home? Oh my god, that was so frustrating.
I did eventually get it to work. Oh you didn't. Yeah,
so it was us your error or the whole thing.
Speaker 14 (58:53):
The whole system was my My whole seatback was all
messed up. It wouldn't it wouldn't recognize my my fingertet okay,
and then when it and then when it did, it
sort of recognized every single finger touch that.
Speaker 3 (59:07):
I had previous nine thousand.
Speaker 14 (59:09):
So the menu thing and as I'm watching the show
for literally like five to ten minutes. Calm down, Zach,
it just it just kept flashing up, like the little
menu thing would keep flashing up wrong then on the hedges.
Speaker 6 (59:25):
So are you a are you a flight tracker guy?
You like checking the old flight tracker for time once
in a while. I'm not, Like I like the flight
tracker So there are some people that have it up
all like for a long time. No, I'll check it
every once in a while in between, show the appropriate.
Speaker 3 (59:39):
Time to check.
Speaker 6 (59:40):
Just like when I saw that guy flying to Europe
a year ago, raw dog it and stare at a
blank screen, and it freaked me out. It's like, what
are you doing? Either sleep or watch something? Don't just
stare at the screen. It freaks me out.
Speaker 3 (59:52):
I hate it. Weird.
Speaker 6 (59:54):
I feel the same way about people who watched the
flight tracker for more than I don't know, more than
a minute or so. Yeah, cool, check in you've been
watching a movie for a couple hours. Let's see where
you're at. Are you know how much how much you
got left?
Speaker 3 (01:00:07):
Fine? What do you got to wash? If the map's
not changing?
Speaker 14 (01:00:12):
It is kind of fun everyone in a while to
scroll around because I do that just with Google Maps anyway,
just on my phone, Like I just like to look
around the world, right. It is kind of fun because
you can do that to certain point, like zoom out,
spin the globe around, check out to Zurka, Stan, see
what's going on there.
Speaker 6 (01:00:29):
It's a reminder of how dumb we are, right because
you're like when you're zooming, like, that's where Portugal.
Speaker 3 (01:00:34):
Is what I thought?
Speaker 4 (01:00:36):
He was amazing.
Speaker 3 (01:00:37):
I wasn't even close. That's where Kansas is, right or Illinois?
Speaker 12 (01:00:42):
Yeah, Illinois is where the studem ire or Missouria.
Speaker 3 (01:00:46):
Where's that?
Speaker 4 (01:00:47):
This is the homeland of the Beat.
Speaker 14 (01:00:50):
I would say. The coolest thing that we saw in Hawk.
You'd remember this was maybe two London trips ago when
we we flew virgin which is great, great sideway.
Speaker 4 (01:01:03):
False advertising all those ladies.
Speaker 14 (01:01:04):
Yeah wow, not a chance, not a chance, anyone, any
single one of my but wow wow, they do a
good job hiringly smokes. They had the camera on the
on the tail of the airplane. You could watch the
takeoff and landing. Well, you can watch the whole thing
(01:01:25):
if you want, but there is an option to tune
into the screen. The camera on the outside of the
actual airplane you're on and you can.
Speaker 3 (01:01:34):
Watch it all. Really dumb question.
Speaker 6 (01:01:36):
If you're mid flight flying over the Atlantic, what does
that look like?
Speaker 3 (01:01:41):
Just clouds and whatnot?
Speaker 14 (01:01:42):
Just like looking at the tail well, you see the
front of the plane's aimed.
Speaker 3 (01:01:48):
It's aimed forward.
Speaker 4 (01:01:51):
Forward.
Speaker 3 (01:01:52):
I don't know why, I just assumed it was like
a tail can.
Speaker 6 (01:01:56):
It's on the back of the plane, but facing the
front plane you got that's a trip.
Speaker 12 (01:02:00):
So let's say if you're if that's not cloudy and
you're flying, you would see the ground, you'd see mountains
or ocean or whatever you're over.
Speaker 3 (01:02:06):
Correct. Yeah, that's pretty cool.
Speaker 7 (01:02:09):
You guys talks about that a couple of years ago
when you when it happened, and I've been obsessed by like,
that's all I want to have now is a plane.
Speaker 3 (01:02:17):
The thing is the camera. I mean, that's the only
about I'm a nerd.
Speaker 4 (01:02:29):
Love that about you.
Speaker 3 (01:02:31):
It's bastards. They trashed our house.
Speaker 4 (01:02:34):
I didn't know, you know.
Speaker 14 (01:02:36):
How disappointed so many people were when we pulled up
to the to the London flight of the Dublin flight
and it wasn't Virginaire.
Speaker 4 (01:02:42):
Yeah, yeah, I was on them. That was one of them.
Speaker 3 (01:02:44):
To the camera that the year is that the year
you guys flew slut? Yeah, Alines, I have no camera
the bus and said it's time to flower some people.
Speaker 7 (01:02:59):
Jesus everybody, everybody in that airline has a lot of
miles on them.
Speaker 8 (01:03:03):
They do.
Speaker 3 (01:03:05):
So you eventually did watch Fantastic Four? Yeah? I did.
Speaker 6 (01:03:08):
It was fine. Yeah, it's it's fun. I thought it
was fun, and I hate those kind of movies, but
it was fun. Yeah, for those kind of movies. It
was pretty I thought, pretty well done.
Speaker 3 (01:03:17):
Yeah, I mean it was. It was fine.
Speaker 14 (01:03:18):
I mean towards the end, I kind of stopped paying
attention because I'm like, all right, I know that they're
gonna they're gonna get the monster into the time machine thing,
so the teleporter like a spoil. I don't really know
how it's gonna happen, but I know it's gonna happen.
Speaker 4 (01:03:31):
How you gonna get that monster in there.
Speaker 6 (01:03:33):
That was the worst part of the movie, when they're
explaining the plan and the whole team is confused, Wait
a minute, we're gonna use the baby as bait and
they're all like confused, Yes, yes, everybody knows that's what's
gonna It was still pretty fun.
Speaker 3 (01:03:48):
It was great, great film. Yeah, do you know what?
Speaker 4 (01:03:51):
Do you remember what I watched on the way out there?
What remember why? I asked you if you loved it,
and you said you loved it as much as I do.
It's it's the best, right, the best. You know how
much I love that movie?
Speaker 3 (01:04:00):
He watched it again. I watched it again on the
way you did.
Speaker 4 (01:04:03):
I watched Fury on the way out there and on
the way back. You guys the Tank movie with Brad Pitt,
and I think it's.
Speaker 3 (01:04:14):
It's old love.
Speaker 4 (01:04:20):
Wait, he's in He's in What am I thinking? He's
in Finding Private Ryan.
Speaker 3 (01:04:25):
That's why I'm confusing the.
Speaker 4 (01:04:27):
Saving and people they found him too, and yeah they.
Speaker 6 (01:04:29):
Did and they did save him. Yeah, and then very
heavy cost by the way. So you're saying it wasn't
worth it?
Speaker 4 (01:04:39):
Is that what you're saying?
Speaker 7 (01:04:40):
What?
Speaker 4 (01:04:41):
I love Brad Pitt? And uh? I also after listening
to Shilah Boof on the podcast with oh man, what's
the other guy who's in the film who plays the
country blank in that movie? He's got his own podcast.
Speaker 6 (01:04:57):
I have no idea man, not Dak Shepherd, No, Uh,
it's uh.
Speaker 3 (01:05:03):
You got the cast list right there, don't you, John.
Speaker 4 (01:05:07):
Yeah, Bertha Berth podcast and he had Shilah Boof on
and it's the Yeah, yeah, I've seen watched the whole
thing sometime because they spend a lot of time talking
about how bad a shape Shilah Boof was when they
were filming Fury. And now I can't help but watch
that film and think of the people I met in
that very long form interview as they're playing the actors.
(01:05:28):
They are there for Shilah Boof to be as messed
up as he was on substances and his own ego.
Speaker 6 (01:05:34):
Is that the clip where he's explaining that he was
basically like that he blew it and actually he's admitting
all of his mistakes and he just cuts up in
the van.
Speaker 3 (01:05:42):
I didn't.
Speaker 6 (01:05:43):
I forgot that was Bernenthal, But I've definitely seen that clip. Yeah,
you never listened to the whole interview though.
Speaker 4 (01:05:47):
To see those two and I've watched that interview a
number of times, and to watch them in that movie
acting is incredible to me. It's incredible to me all
the way around. But to know those people as individuals
now from that interview and to watch them in that
film talking, it's great. I encourage you to watch both.
But Fury is a fantastic movie, and you talk about
(01:06:08):
showing the I don't think I've ever seen another movie
about that kind of warfare. Have you been tank warfare like?
Speaker 3 (01:06:13):
No? Tank warfare like not?
Speaker 14 (01:06:14):
No, man, no, I mean that the intensity of that
movie outstanding.
Speaker 3 (01:06:19):
Outstanding.
Speaker 4 (01:06:20):
Yeah, just so good. Anyway, So I watched it.
Speaker 3 (01:06:23):
I can't believe you watched it.
Speaker 4 (01:06:24):
On the way back, I was, I knew I might
fall asleep anyway, and then I watched the whole damn well.
Speaker 14 (01:06:30):
Speaking of Saving and Ryan's Privates go on, So on
our last trip to Green Bay, our friend jahred he
he almostly, he like was sitting next to me, and
then he turns on that movie and he like fast
forwards it like an hour.
Speaker 3 (01:06:47):
I was like, what are you doing?
Speaker 14 (01:06:48):
He goes, because I started this like on the last
trip and I still haven't gotten through it.
Speaker 3 (01:06:52):
I just want to finish it. So you know, that
trip was so short.
Speaker 14 (01:06:56):
So he watches that little segment and then he watched
the rest of it on the way home. So took
three trips to watch to watch Saving Private Ryan, and
he's already the same thing is that he's already seems
like I've already seen it before. I just love it.
I just want to watch it again. I want to
watch it from start to finish, and I'm like, I
get it. It's really good. I can't believe that you
basically did the same thing but watched it start to
(01:07:17):
finish there and back.
Speaker 4 (01:07:18):
Yeah, tell me I'm a good man.
Speaker 10 (01:07:21):
Oh he's Louise Tears. I know, turn on the water works.
That's right anyway, I know, talk about bringing a room down.
Speaker 4 (01:07:33):
Yeah, thanks, let's see here here, let me here's your
your head coach on your young quarterback.
Speaker 11 (01:07:40):
Max was you know, honestly maybe processing too quickly.
Speaker 3 (01:07:43):
There were some moments there where he was.
Speaker 11 (01:07:44):
Getting back to some things where we had some explosive
chances for either Jordan on the backside and cat catch
and run, or even on some of the third downs
where you know, he just a little sped up like
a normal young player can be in his first start.
Speaker 4 (01:08:01):
What do you think of that? Man?
Speaker 3 (01:08:04):
I I'm one hundred percent believe him.
Speaker 14 (01:08:06):
That's what we talked about, probably more off air, but
I think Pete even mentioned it on air that it
just it does look like he is going he is
accelerating through some of his progressions, and it's like the
opposite problem that we had with McCarthy. It's like he's
going through everything so quickly yesterday that we're like whoa, whoa, whoa,
Like this is great, Like we love that you're, you know,
(01:08:28):
mechanically seeing everything all right, like looks like your eyes
and your feet and all this other stuff, all the
all the little technical things are working, and it's just
now you've got to slow it down just a half
a beat because I actually think that you could be
hitting some open guys. You know, there was there was
a time where he you and I were debating that too.
Like the ball that he threw to Addison later in
the game, it's like, did Adison turn the wrong way?
(01:08:51):
Like did he turn back to the ball the wrong way?
Or was he expecting him to to like maybe be
a shade to his right and he wasn't, Like he
threw the ball before he really even turned around. But
then when he did turn around, it's like he turned
the wrong direction. So like, who was wrong there? Early
in the game, we had what a handoff? Well, the
first play of the game, first play the game, first
(01:09:13):
play of the game, he does a purouet and hands
the ball up.
Speaker 3 (01:09:15):
Like, well spun, he spun the wrong direction, like.
Speaker 14 (01:09:17):
Open up the wrong way, And then a couple of
plays later it was a play action where he opened
up the wrong way and he was still able to
function in the play, which was kind of impressive. But
he was doing everything super super fast and kind of
wish that he could just calm down a little bit.
And I heard you guys earlier. You know, our our
(01:09:38):
margin for air is super thin. So every football that
comes you way, you gotta catch it.
Speaker 3 (01:09:43):
You just have you have to.
Speaker 14 (01:09:44):
I mean, the one that I would say probably is
harder catches the Jefferson one kind of behind him where
he had to like turn his whole body and sort
of almost try to basket catch it with his hands.
Like that's a tough catch from like, you know, less
than ten yards away where that thing was fired in there.
Speaker 3 (01:10:00):
So I'll give him that.
Speaker 14 (01:10:00):
That was probably more on the quarterback, But everything else
was like, dude, if it hits your hands, you got
to catch this ball because this guy needs your help.
Speaker 4 (01:10:06):
Nobody saw more plays by Max Brozmer than you did.
Grim What did you see yesterday that surprised you? That
you'd maybe never seen before. Yeah.
Speaker 12 (01:10:17):
So yeah, I watched every snap right that he played
last year. Probably not everyone has that as every snap
I'm talking I was. His strength was eliminating any catastrophic play,
like I can't remember one in thirteen games last year,
one catastrophic play. And his decision making was always good.
(01:10:38):
It was always good to great. It was great when
he made the right reads. And even when it was good,
maybe the decision should have been to throw down field,
but he decided not to risk it and check down
and got six yards. That's a good decision, not a
great you know. So there was almost no bad decisions.
He threw five interceptions all of last year. He threw
four yesterday. Yeah, and the the inexplicable interception.
Speaker 4 (01:11:01):
I don't know.
Speaker 12 (01:11:02):
I don't know how a guy who is so smart
and who is who just never has made bad decisions
that I've seen in his time with Minnesota decides that
that's the play to make an underhanded little looper was
It was like I was watching a different guy. And
even his second best strinth besides decision making in the
time I watched him with the Gophers was his accuracy.
He was always pinpoint, and like even the one to Addison,
(01:11:25):
that first one, it was still a little high like
an NFL quarterbacks, you know, put that right on the number,
Put that right on the three, and yes, you got
to catch it if you're Addison. Addison had two or
three drops. Jefferson had that the play Ben reference. And
I think even in the last interception, that balls right
on the money on the slant and the guy kind
of got his hand in front of JJ.
Speaker 3 (01:11:46):
I don't know as a receiver.
Speaker 12 (01:11:47):
I'm not a smart enough football guy to know if
he needs to shield that defender or flatten that route
or somehow make sure that throw gets to you and
doesn't get tip. But the throw is right on the money,
it's right where it was supposed to be, and it
turns into an interception. So he had some bad luck,
but he wasn't nearly as accurate as I thought he'd be.
And that that pick six was just inexplicable to to
to make that decision and not either throw it overhand
(01:12:09):
out of bounds or just or just take a bite
out of it and call it a day. Uh And
and and you know, even if you lose the twelve
yards on the sack. Fine, there's still you know inside
I don't know where that play was a six yard
line or whatever it was. So I was surprised a
little the decision making, the processing part. He's a fast processor,
so he was sped up, There's no doubt about that.
But that shouldn't impact the decision on the interception. And
(01:12:33):
in some of the comments that they made, O'Connell talked
about it as well, that when you get sped up
and you throw it, that that that you can be
a foot off or two feet off, and and.
Speaker 3 (01:12:43):
That was that. So, yeah, it was, it was.
Speaker 12 (01:12:45):
It was rough. It was a rough day. I hope
he gets another chance sometime. I don't know when that'll come.
As Corey said I heard earlier on the drive in,
he didn't stake a claim to the spot.
Speaker 3 (01:12:55):
You know, he had a chance to.
Speaker 12 (01:12:56):
There's been many quarterbacks who we mentioned it last week
when I was on think of all the quarterbacks over
the years who got the chance to only due to
injury and end up you know, like some all the
way to the Hall of Fame, Tom Brady only you
know got in because Kurt Warner. I mean, although you know,
many high end guys, but that wasn't the case. I said,
I hope he gets a chance because I do think
(01:13:18):
even last year within the golfer season, he was just
okay in that opening game against North Carolina, and then
as a season got to about game three, he was
he was really good.
Speaker 3 (01:13:27):
So I love it and he's a great kid. Love
the kid.
Speaker 12 (01:13:30):
He's trying hard. He didn't get a lot of support
from his teammates. He said, he got a bunch of
support in terms of, you know, pick me ups, but
on the.
Speaker 3 (01:13:36):
Field there was a lot of stuff happening. Yeah, good
to see you guys.
Speaker 6 (01:13:41):
News in a second, more with ben leeber More Vikings
