Speaker 1 (00:02):
Listen up. The ratings just came in for last month.
We are number one. We just grabbed every key demograph. Yeah,
super duper. That's nice.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
Light a goo nito, gay boy.

Speaker 1 (00:15):
That is good news.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
It is the tenth day of December twenty twenty five.
Good morning, everybody. Welcome to the PARTUREP Morning Show. My
name is Chris Hocking. Here we are on a wild Wednesday.
It is wild because I'm in studio. Wasn't gonna be
Marty's in Fargo by herself? Well, I mean, they're a
Drekker celebrating the release of my Mike check Pilsner. Thanks
to our friends of Breaker Drekker, I should say, and
Belle Bank and Zach goes here with me, Sauce sick Corey.

(00:44):
God knows where parish on his way in Casto thousands.
Perhaps maybe Parker Fox can't wait to see him. Let's
get her started. Hears some County from Greg Warren and
John Heffron, two comedians. Why because it's Christmas time. It's
the tenth day of Christmas and on the to day Christmas.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
Your true love gave to you.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
Two comedians, Greg Warren, John Heffern, Come on in now,
I'm glad you're here.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
My grandma, my.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
Grandma Nano Nano was the greatest gift wrapper in history.

Speaker 1 (01:13):
She wrapped our gifts in maps. Isn't that cool?

Speaker 2 (01:15):
Like, yeah, I wish I would save them.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
My grandma worked for the Defense Department in mapping.

Speaker 3 (01:21):
She did, she did, and she would bring these maps
home from the office.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
I don't know if she was supposed to do that,
but she.

Speaker 4 (01:29):
Did, and it was great because I was like, Oh,
your grandma has wrapping paper with snoopies and Santa clauses.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
That's cute.

Speaker 5 (01:35):
My grandma trusted me with strategic bombing locations.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
And.

Speaker 6 (01:46):
My min knew always try to get hurt, because you
know your kids, nothing good is about to happen. One
kid says to the other, hey, let's build a ramp,
and my mom would always try to buy a safe toy,
so we want to hurt each other. But everybody knows
that that's dumb. Everybody knows that any kid could turn
any toy into a weapon, the best weapon, the best
weapon you could ever have beating up a brother sister

(02:08):
growing up was the big long.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
Wrapping paper tube thing.

Speaker 6 (02:12):
For that, the big long cardboard tube thing that was
the best thing to beat up brothers sissies with. Loved
it because it started off as a big long staff
and you could just start smacking people with it. Then
the middle part would get all busted up. Then the
answer is still fine. Then you had numb chucks. A
favorite thing to do with that tube though, before we
started hitting people right was the walk by our family

(02:33):
dog who was just laying there sleeping. Sticky tube right
by the dog's face the dirt. Wow.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
Dog would always wake up, what the hey, get the
tube out of my face. Stick that tube in my
face one more time.

Speaker 6 (02:51):
I'm gonna eat every one of your Star Wars figgers.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, isn't it. Yes, indeed,
it certainly is. Good morning, everybody, welcome. Hi's that go?

Speaker 6 (03:11):
Hi?

Speaker 1 (03:11):
Chris?

Speaker 2 (03:12):
Is hawkin Zach in the morning? Yeah, like like we
always wanted. It's like we always planned. Let's just get
it out of the way right now. This is this
was our plan in the long run. Yes, we eventually
Corey take another vacation day and Sauce would get sick
mm hmm, and Marty would be where's Marty is she?

Speaker 1 (03:30):
Marty is gone? And no one cares.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
That's a mild exaggeration.

Speaker 1 (03:35):
No, she'll be here, well not here, No, No.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
She's live at Drekker. We'll be at some point in.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
Fargo, think closer to six is what she said.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
That's completely fine, she can get there whatever she I mean,
it's a bonus day. And I don't know how heard
it is usually not anymore because he's at the the
you know, winter meeting.

Speaker 4 (03:53):
Well he's doing really bad at negotiating with Winter right now.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
Yeah, I mean, really, it's exactly right.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
And Saucy just decided he was sick. I mean, I
don't know, right, do you have an idea like did
he just wait and say I'm not coming in?

Speaker 1 (04:07):
Is that what happened to I heard projectile vomiting? You
actually heard it? He said that.

Speaker 4 (04:12):
Well him and Kelly texted me as well, oh wow,
and she said he is not in good shape. So
but I mean, how's that different? Well even even worse.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
It's you and me, man, Yeah, we got this. We
totally got that. I was a few moments ago in uh,
lovely Morton, Minnesota. Yeah, how about that at jack Pad Junction?
And I don't know, something tickled me and said you buried.
You better get back to the Twin Cities. The wind
was blowing and whistling, and uh, it was raining straight down.

(04:50):
And the speech ended and I got done saying hi
to everybody about I don't know, a little before nine,
like a little smidge before nine, and it hadn't started
complete freezing it. In fact, when I left the hotel
where I did my speech, it was thirty six degrees wow.
But the wind was blowing like I expected to see
a house fly by, and I knew it was gonna

(05:12):
get worse and worse. And Martie sent me a video
from Fargo. Oh yeah, not not the kind I asked for, okay,
And no matter how many times I asked, I don't know,
she sent me a video from Farga and she said,
you should definitely not drive here. This is terrible. And
it was snowing and it looked very very very quaint,
very pretty. And she had to go to Target to

(05:32):
buy some clothing. I don't know why. Apparently she did
not take any clothing with her on the flight.

Speaker 4 (05:40):
That's, you know, a bit of an oversight, or she
likes Target. Yeah, I suppose it's a good excuse to
buying new clothes if you just travel without a suitcase.

Speaker 2 (05:52):
That's right. Didn't you send us a link for the
stream er today?

Speaker 4 (05:56):
I texted it to you, But that's the same link
that we aren't we always use, So I don't know
if you have that buck mark.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
But yeah, so I drove my my my a word
back again. And the closer I got to Wednesday is
a worse a guy, right, and uh, but I kept
on rolling down the highway like speedy in the bandit.
That's not who they are smoking in the bandit And
rolled in and I went to the hotels over here

(06:22):
there they never have any h ever, So I went
to the Double Tree, which is always fun, and walked
in and the lady they did have a room there,
and there was a very intoxicated couple of gentlemen. Oh,
I don't know what he was asking for, the one gentleman,
and but.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
I don't think he knew he was what he was
asking for.

Speaker 2 (06:45):
And and the lady behind the desk sure was fed
up with him. Yeah, So I got that room and
I went and slept and h Then the alarm went
off and I looked at my phone and there was
sauce and I'm throwing out, throwing about my butthole.

Speaker 4 (07:01):
Yeah, and here we are. Yeah, this day has been
Uh it's been wacky. It's been wacky, wacky wild Wednesday.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
Yeah, and uh Paris just texted and said he was
going to run a little late and I wanted to TAXXPEC.
Of course you are. Yeah, take your time. It's terrible
out there. The roads are not good. And we got
more snow. You know, like after I got here a
little after midnight, there was there's been more snow since then. Yeah,
how was How was the amount of snow out where

(07:30):
you live?

Speaker 4 (07:31):
We had a good amount and it just kept h
it kept snowing and and you'd you'd shovel and then
it'd come right back. And even this morning it was
like all this, all this hard work, all this uh
you know, uh there is marks look at you, but no,
it just it was it was heavy. It was heavy snow. Yeah,

(07:53):
very packed in there.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
So Christmas snow is what it is.

Speaker 4 (07:56):
It's exactly what Christmas snow, best kind of snow. And
uh yeah it was the road I don't know today
it was the roads weren't terrible coming in.

Speaker 1 (08:07):
It's I've had worse, but it still was.

Speaker 4 (08:11):
I love the mix of the eighty mile per hour
trucks in the twenty mile per hour cameras and everything
in between.

Speaker 1 (08:20):
It's it's a fun. It's always a fun day.

Speaker 2 (08:21):
This is Zacho's first year not driving a real wol
drive car. Yeah, winter, isn't it a better pleasure?

Speaker 1 (08:30):
I caught myself, isn't it?

Speaker 4 (08:31):
I caught myself yesterday because there was somebody like on
the way home that roads were not great last night especially, Yeah,
And I caught my like somebody was going like thirty
in the in the middle lane or whatever.

Speaker 1 (08:43):
I caught myself being that guy.

Speaker 4 (08:45):
And I remember I was like, not too long ago,
like last year, I was the guy going thirty because
I couldn't hang on to the damn thing. But uh yeah,
now I'm like, oh, come.

Speaker 1 (08:56):
On, it's not that bad.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
You changed that quickly. I know, I know, Man's it's
hard not to change quickly. You get all judge you
once you got SUV.

Speaker 4 (09:06):
Yeah, oh yeah, all, well drive a game change. I
tweeted about that, and people like, you know, it's not
a new feature.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
It's like it is to me. Yeah, people with buttholes
man man, not all people, but some of them.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
Yeah, but thanks to.

Speaker 2 (09:19):
The good people at corn Capital Innovations for having me
down at Jackpot Junction last night to do my mental
health speech. I'll tell you guys, it is always a
humbling experience to go in there with a bunch of people,
you know, a full packed house of people who about
sixty percent of them have no idea who I am,
which is completely cool. You can't. You don't expect that

(09:41):
you know, and then you got to you talk them
through your your story. And I do forty five minutes
on my mental health journey, and my point always end
up being the same, and that is that you got
to take care of the people around you, but mostly
got to take care of yourself. But the most rewarding
part of it, it normally happens about five or ten

(10:03):
minutes after I'm done with my speech and then on
my way home from the speech, because I make a
point to make sure I say my email address and
I let people know, hey, listen, I would never expect
you to raise your hand and tell me if you
struggle with mental health as well. There's always a couple
of people who come up to me afterwards and do
but the ones that are the hardest happen via email
or social media when I'm on my way home, man,

(10:25):
And I'll tell you I got a few of those
last night. So anytime i'm I'm, I'm, you know, making
these long drives somewhere to talk to people about it,
and it hits with one person like it hit with
a couple of people last night, I know it was
worth it. So thanks for having me out, everybody. And
if you're looking to have somebody come in to speak
to your company to remind you that you got to
take care of yourself, please reach out to me at
Chris Hockey dot com. We'll figure that out. But it's

(10:46):
really something, man. This time of year, people are strug
People are struggling all the time, but this time of year,
people are really struggling. Man. I had some interesting things
people talk to me about things last night that I
hadn't had talked to me before. People worried about, you know,
being even more so than normal, being singled out for

(11:09):
the color of their skin, even more so than normal.
You know, in Morton, Minnesota, last night, people coming up
to me and talking to me about a new worry
they never thought they had before, They'd never had before,
their family being worried about things they never thought they'd
be worried about in this country before. I had a
gentleman come up to me afterward and tell me about

(11:30):
man not to get too serious so early in the morning.
But a gentleman come up to me last night and
tell me that he lost his son to suicide. Had
a gentleman email me afterwards and say, I couldn't say
anything during your show, but I'm really really struggling, man,
I need help, you know, I just so. I guess
my point. I look around and the happiest people you

(11:52):
meet are often the ones that are hurting the most.
So my point of my speech is always the same,
and I'll say it to you here. I'm first of all,
I'm glad you're here. I say that to both you
want to say, anybody out there listening, whether you're live
or drive and are driving or you're listening on tape.
And second of all, how you doing? You know, My
point is always when you ask somebody how you doing,

(12:12):
really listen to their answer.

Speaker 1 (12:14):
Yes, that as the key. Yes all the time, but
not a lot of people listen.

Speaker 2 (12:21):
Yeah, and that's fine. You know, most of the time
when you ask somebody that they're not ready to answer,
but you might ask somebody on a day when they
really need to answer.

Speaker 5 (12:28):
You M.

Speaker 2 (12:31):
Yeah, you know. And it's about humanity, isn't it, Because
you know when there's something going on with somebody just
via being a human being, you know it. You can
feel it inside you.

Speaker 1 (12:40):
You can and timing.

Speaker 4 (12:42):
I mean, it's everything, it really is, because there are
times where you know somebody might be open and wanting
to talk about that, but there are a lot of
times where you know, it's it's easier just to say, oh,
I'm good, everything's great. And uh so even if they
have if you can tell you're somebody is is struggling,

(13:02):
and even if they do say it, oh they're fine,
you know, ask again some other time and you know.

Speaker 1 (13:08):
Make sure that they're uh yeah, they're doing all right. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (13:11):
And you know, one of the key points to what
you were just saying there, Zach, is you know, being
there and listening, uh is part of it. But but
you have to be you have to have that vulnerability
to say yes, to admit that you know what you're
struggling right now, and it's it's it's it's not a
big deal. It's okay to not be okay. Nobody's perfect.

(13:34):
We all have bad days. We're all human. So please
just hey, let yourself, you know, let yourself be helped.

Speaker 1 (13:40):
It's a be vulnerable.

Speaker 5 (13:42):
Somebody asks you how you're doing in your close friends
and you got something on your mind. You know, people like, hey,
you know what, you got a minute? I would like
to talk to you about something, you know, anything like that.
But please, It literally is a two way street, and
that is the most direction, the most important direction.

Speaker 2 (13:57):
The thing that helped me the most in the world
is listening to people tell me what's going on with them.
I'm telling you, I'm opening up to people. It's helped
me as much as it's helped anybody. And you don't
have to be experts either. In fact, you can point
people towards the experts. You can point you. You can
convince somebody they are worthy of asking for help. Because

(14:19):
I don't know about you, guys, but when I first
started going to therapy, I felt stupid. I felt like,
what are you doing? You're tougher than that, you don't
you know? I had, And the truth was I didn't
feel worthy of taking that step. I felt there are
people who have worse lives than me, who have more
trouble than I do, who actually need therapy. I'm not
going to waste him by his time, you know. So

(14:41):
that's my high horse man. You know, just just ask
somebody how they're doing and really listen for the answer,
and they might not be ready today, but you're opening
up a door that they might need to walk through
some day.

Speaker 4 (14:50):
So twenty pilots, as a song called at the risk
of feeling dumb checked check in. It's not worth the
risk of losing a friend.

Speaker 2 (14:57):
And I'm like, wow, it's I need to hear that
sounds that It's incredible.

Speaker 5 (15:02):
Yeah, that was so that was incredibly well said Hawk,
And thanks for beinging up first thing in the morning.

Speaker 1 (15:08):
That's awesome. You know, I got to start the day
from me.

Speaker 2 (15:11):
You know, I know, you know obviously, I know what
you've been through, you know what I've been through. I
know exactly what you're going through, what you've been through
to it. And and that's the point. I think that
the happiest person you meet, they're often the ones struggling
the most man they really are. And you know something
else I always say to ask, you know, when you're
talking about asking somebody how you doing. Ask your friends,

(15:32):
your family, your co workers, but ask the person you
don't like, because there's a good chance what you don't
like about them they don't like about themselves either, very
very good chance. You know, we're all we're all one
big tribe, man. We got to be there for each other, and.

Speaker 1 (15:48):
We all have character flaws. And I would even throw
yourself into that mix too.

Speaker 4 (15:53):
Make sure ask yourself too, because it's it's very easy
to like not even realize that you are struggling, because
you are, you know, for sure, it's just skating by.

Speaker 2 (16:05):
So yeah, and if you're skating by right now on
the roads, please be careful.

Speaker 4 (16:08):
Yeaheah, yeah, at least and hopefully you're wearing something reflective.

Speaker 2 (16:11):
That would be helpful.

Speaker 1 (16:12):
Yeah, and you can skate really fast, you really can.

Speaker 6 (16:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (16:15):
Yeah, let's out there right Marty will check in from
Drekker in Fargo or.

Speaker 5 (16:24):
She flew in by private play A's appointing.

Speaker 2 (16:29):

so he'll be calling in Thursday next Thursday.

Speaker 1 (16:34):

Speaker 2 (16:36):
Where am I?

Speaker 5 (16:37):
So?

Speaker 1 (16:37):
Not to that tomorrow not tomorrow?

Speaker 2 (16:40):
A week from week Thursday, I believe, okay, but we'll
check on that to make sure he won't call on
at some point because he has a beer as well
with Drekker and my beer being sold to raise money
for the Reach Foundation. Love it and now, Harley, if
you're out there, Chad Harlander, perfect morning if you're awake
to call in and tell us about the Reach Foundation.
You want to talk about a guy who is motivated,

(17:00):
a guy last night who knows Harley, who's a football
coach and high school teacher and runs the Reach Foundation
there in Hutchinson. And he said he often gets to
the gym at five thirty just as Harlander's leaving because
he's already done with his workout.

Speaker 5 (17:12):
Some guys, some guys can't shut up. Johnny Randall still
has his same Is that right?

Speaker 1 (17:17):
I mean you can tell yeah, yeah you can.

Speaker 2 (17:20):
Yeah, he could play it today is still a beast morny.

got to be that group of people's that go find them.

Speaker 4 (18:18):
It's just drunk at Taco Bell at two o'clock in

Speaker 1 (18:32):
Cool.

Speaker 2 (18:35):

and you never see each other again.

Yeah, and uh sauces projectile vomiting with diarrhea Mexico.

Speaker 1 (19:06):
No, just uh, just normal, just having a little trouble.

Speaker 2 (19:09):
Yeah, I love the projectile vomiting with diarrhea.

Speaker 1 (19:12):
Please. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (19:13):
Corey is on vacation, just sleeping it off right now
as we struggle, loving it, just loving watching us twist
in the wind.

Speaker 5 (19:21):
I was, you know, driving in when I was pulling
into the parking spot out here, there was a part
of me that was sad because no offense. But I
looked forward to these days because that meant we got
to play with music we want.

Speaker 2 (19:35):
Yeah, yeah, oh I know, and now we can't, No.

Speaker 1 (19:38):
We can't. I was like, yeah, now, hey, there's plenty
of time for the three of us.

Speaker 2 (19:42):
Take we got things to talk about.

Speaker 1 (19:44):
Oh yeah, we got things. Oh we have so many things.

Speaker 2 (19:48):
We have and and Marty will be joining us. Oh,
she will join us momentarily.

Speaker 1 (19:53):
Have you heard from her.

Speaker 2 (19:53):
I'm not a word. No, I don't know if I
haven't heard from her either.

Speaker 4 (19:56):
I'm a little worried she maybe got uh too crazy
and Fargo last night she gets one is to do.

Speaker 2 (20:01):
Yeah she did. She had to go to Target to
get clothing. If that tells you something.

Speaker 1 (20:05):
It's hard to blame.

Speaker 4 (20:05):
I mean Fargo, the night life up there Tuesday night,
and especially Marnie, the life of every party no.

Speaker 1 (20:15):
Matter where she go. Yeah. Yeah, she doesn't let anybody
else talk. But yeah, she's funny, that's how she rolls.

Speaker 2 (20:21):
Hey listen to this, Hey hawk to listen to you
this morning. Talk about mental healthy, importance of really hearing
the answer when somebody when you ask somebody how they're doing,
when somebody answers with fine, I feel that stands for
feelings inside, need escaping.

Speaker 1 (20:35):
That's the different version than I heard.

Speaker 2 (20:37):
Yeah, yeah, no kidding, right yeah.

Speaker 1 (20:40):
Right, insecure and neurotic, yeah, emotional.

Speaker 2 (20:45):
Yeah, so there you go. But it is Wednesday and
we will have Parker Fox. I'm guessing whose career is.

Speaker 1 (20:55):
Just exploding typically like bikes everywhere. I don't know if
he'll take the bike today.

Speaker 2 (21:00):
Donny, Well, you never know. He's a badass.

Speaker 1 (21:03):
He's really high in those e bikes, which, oh.

Speaker 2 (21:06):
He's really high in everything.

Speaker 5 (21:07):
He's six nine, that's where you were going.

Speaker 4 (21:11):
Yeah, well that too, but hmm, man, I don't know,
I don't know if i'd want to be that tall.

Speaker 2 (21:18):
Wow, you know, I I think I would.

Speaker 1 (21:21):
You would, I think I would.

Speaker 2 (21:22):
I I've been I've never been tall.

Speaker 5 (21:26):
It's really that the traveling the plane as a as
a former athlete. Yeah, yeah, every single inch.

Speaker 1 (21:37):
He said it.

Speaker 4 (21:38):
Yeah, you keep talking, man. I felt like that was
a picture I'm picturing. I got Nike shirt. It just
says in big bold letters, every single.

Speaker 2 (21:47):
Every single My god, I want the shirt. Just uh
just Zach with his eyes like really wide open, the
most surprised look in his face ever.

Speaker 1 (22:00):
Every single inch everree single inch.

Speaker 2 (22:02):
You're not allowed to wear that school to school anymore, son,
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (22:08):
We have a podcast at all for hour one, every
single thanks Parish. I do my best. Yeah, really, do
you know?

Speaker 2 (22:18):
Normally I saved this kind of thing for what really matters.
But before we get into sports in the next agment.
On this date in nineteen sixty seven, the plane carrying
soul music legend Otis Redding crashed into the fridge waters
of a smile a small lake, I should say, three
miles short of the runway, killing seven of the eight

(22:40):
meta board, including Otis Redding. This was in Madison, Wisconsin.
By the way, do you guys know that.

Speaker 1 (22:45):
I I thought it was somewhere up here.

Speaker 2 (22:48):
So many tragic things about that, obviously, But his mega hit,
Sitting on the Dock of the Bay would be released
in its unfinished form a few weeks later. Wow, he
had just recorded it.

Speaker 1 (23:00):
Yeah, really, Yeah.

Speaker 5 (23:03):
That's funny because I've always liked, like, how kind of
rough and organic, you know, the way he sounds on there, obviously, Yeah,
and I guess that's part of the reason.

Speaker 2 (23:12):
Well, a guy by the name of Steve Cropper just
passed away.

Speaker 1 (23:17):
Last week.

Speaker 2 (23:17):
As a matter of fact, guitar player extraordinary, you know
that A green Onion bown and Doom Doom Dan. He
was in that band, right, Yeah, played guitar on that song.
In fact, one of the things I've always been fascinated by.
And I wish I could play it, and I guess
I could. We could cut it out. But at the
very beginning of that song, you know, but in Dan,

(23:37):
it's you know, a green onion is a there's no vocals,
just an instrumental. The very first note of the guitar
solo now is way louder than everything else. That's Steve Cropper,
but on the technology back then it was his best taken.
They liked it too much, so they took that take,
even though the very first notice, wow, it's way too loud,

(23:59):
but ayway. Steve Cropper was the man who the guitar
player on sitting on the dock of the bay without just.

Speaker 1 (24:05):
Reading oh wow.

Speaker 2 (24:06):
And he also mixed the song, and he says, he
said before he passed away, one of the hardest things
he ever had to do was mix sitting on the
dock of the bay after his friend had just died
in a plane crash. But the record company wanted the
song to go out, so it's rushed, it's perfect time
and I'd read in one of the interviews he could
hardly listen to the song for a lot of reasons,

(24:28):
but also because he felt like he did his friend
a disservice because the song is so rushed in the mix,
but the record company wanted it out, and they wanted
it out now.

Speaker 5 (24:35):
Wow, man, man, that's a lot of weight that he
doesn't need to carry.

Speaker 3 (24:39):
I know.

Speaker 1 (24:39):
Can you imagine tearing your friend's voice over and over again?

Speaker 2 (24:42):
Yeah, let's see, uh yeah, Well, seven of eight men
aboard died. The mega hit Sitting on Doctor Bay would
be released in its unfinished form several weeks later, soon
become a history's first posthumous number one hit. I did
not know that, the first posthumous number one hit and
the biggest pop hit of Redding's career. When Reading left

(25:03):
his final recording session in Memphis, he intended to return
the soon to the song. He still had to replace
a whistled verse thrown in as a placeholder. How about that.

Speaker 1 (25:15):
That's not Otis Redding, It.

Speaker 2 (25:18):
Is sim whistling. But he had planned on writing a verse.

Speaker 1 (25:22):
I missed that, Yeah, yeah, So he.

Speaker 2 (25:25):
Was going to come back and replace that with an
actual verse.

Speaker 1 (25:28):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (25:30):
In the meantime, there was a television appearance to make
in Cleveland, followed by a concert in Madison, Wisconsin. So
he boarded a faithful flight. In these six months, six
months leading up to death, Otis Redding had gone from
one great success to another. In June, Aretha Franklin had
taken a cover version of his song Respect, his song
Respect all the way to number one on the top
of the charts. Later that same month, the adulation of

(25:52):
the young audience of rock fans and moderate international Pop
festival had transformed him into an icon of the blossom
encounter culture career scene thanks to his blistering now legendary
live performance there, but a Photo's writing was only beginning
to game momentum within the largely white mainstream in nineteen
sixty seventy, he was already a giant in the world
of soul music. Wow, a hell of a thing. I

(26:14):
had never read that before in my whole life. So
the whistle verse was going to be a written verse.
No wonder proper didn't want to mix it. I the
song wasn't even closed to being done. But again, it's
one of the great songs of all time, and that
whistle verse feels perfect.

Speaker 1 (26:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (26:33):
Yeah, and it's just there's something chilling about that.

Speaker 2 (26:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (26:38):
I've been trying to put a word on it. Yeah,
that is, first of all, kind of blowing my mind.
But you know, the first thing that you were talking
about was like the first person to do that, which
I can kind of understand that, you know, with the
whole recordings and how long people have finally.

Speaker 1 (26:54):
You know, we didn't start recording people.

Speaker 5 (26:56):
You know, it wasn't until pretty late here or not
too long ago, so you know, like I kind of
understand that. My God, the rest of that story just
had me on the edge of my seat, for God's sake,
So you had me haunted there. That was That was
incredible nights talk.

Speaker 1 (27:10):
That was cool.

Speaker 4 (27:12):
I did not know that we we take for granted,
and I think it's a good thing that we have
this luxury now of being able to take for granted
air travel. But man, we have lost a lot of
musicians among a lot of other people to plane crashes.
It's crazy. No, obviously, that never happens. Think thankfully.

Speaker 2 (27:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (27:29):
More.

Speaker 2 (27:29):
I mean, you know, traveling as much as you do,
the odds get, you know, worse and worse for you. Right,
It's like, you know, and I hate to even say this,
but athletes travel a lot.

Speaker 5 (27:39):
Man.

Speaker 1 (27:39):
Yeah, thanks for bringing it up. Yeah, I know, you know.
I guess we're on to any flight here.

Speaker 2 (27:44):
Yeah, right, it's about time. Yeah, sitting in the morning sun,
I'll be sitting when the evenings come, watching the ships
roll and then I watch them roll away again. I'm
sitting on the dock of the bay watching the tide
roll away, wasting time. How about this? The bridge, though,
looks like nothing's going to change everything still remains the same.
I can't do what ten people tell me to do,

(28:05):
so I guess I'll just remain the same, sitting here,
rest of my bones. I can't do what ten people
tell me to do.

Speaker 1 (28:12):
Yeah, very true, man, Amen, that's right.

Speaker 4 (28:15):
All right, Marnie is backstage. We want to bring her up?
Or do we want to wait?

Speaker 2 (28:21):
Bring her up?

Speaker 1 (28:22):
Okay, bring her in.

Speaker 2 (28:24):
She got up early for this.

Speaker 1 (28:25):
Oh my good, look how pretty she is? Marty? Are
you wearing makeup?

Speaker 7 (28:30):
No?

Speaker 1 (28:31):
Oh no, just the usual mask. Kara.

Speaker 2 (28:35):
Oh you know what it's like.

Speaker 7 (28:38):
I've been using a vitamin C serum on my face
that Barb said to me. So maybe that's what you
can tell.

Speaker 1 (28:45):
You are glowing.

Speaker 2 (28:46):
Look at you if you want to see her a
Campan dot com slash watch, you can't campan dot com
slash watch.

Speaker 1 (28:50):
What's the weather doing behind you?

Speaker 7 (28:52):
There?

Speaker 1 (28:52):
And Fargo?

Speaker 2 (28:52):
Right now? I can't see behind you.

Speaker 1 (28:53):
It looks like that.

Speaker 2 (28:55):
Not great.

Speaker 1 (28:56):
Yeah, it's not great at all.

Speaker 7 (28:58):
There's outside, it's you know what, it's a it's a
straight winter wonderland. But it was it was not good
yesterday when I sent you that video. It was the
snowing sideways kind of situation, but big chunky lakes of snow.
It was coming down pretty good. And then it quit
for a while later in the afternoon and it was

(29:20):
like the calm, and then the winds picked up and
the drive here was also not pleasant. I thought it
would be all kind of done and through this morning.
It was just as bad this morning. And I've had
enough of winter on December tenth.

Speaker 2 (29:34):
What is going on? So I went the right directions.
What you're saying coming back here was the right idea. Yes, okay, good, good.
I have so many questions.

Speaker 7 (29:43):
I would not I would not have wanted you out
on the roads, especially because of your timing. If you
were just coming from if you were just driving after
the show, not a big deal. But when you're going
on the road at nine pm in small towns for
a three hour drive in and through small towns, what
do you have for questions?

Speaker 2 (30:01):
For me?

Speaker 1 (30:01):
I have what does Well?

Speaker 2 (30:04):
We'll get him after the break, and I can't wait
to see what my beer looks like.

Speaker 1 (30:06):
There it is, there's my mic.

Speaker 7 (30:10):
Look at that.

Speaker 1 (30:11):
There it is from Drenker, And look at me? How cool?

Speaker 2 (30:15):
That's a that's a cool picture. Kelly Kicks took a
great picture of me. That's an awesome one. Look at that.

Speaker 7 (30:20):
You look like an absolute rock star in this.

Speaker 1 (30:22):
Thank you.

Speaker 7 (30:23):
There's another beer, some beer, and then they then they
have this one too.

Speaker 2 (30:31):
They put that chunky man on there too. That's so nice.

Speaker 1 (30:33):
Yeah, what is that?

Speaker 2 (30:38):
What is his beer called?

Speaker 1 (30:41):
His beer is called rough cut? I p A.

Speaker 2 (30:44):
Did you know what it was going to be called?
I taste worse than I look. That's not hard to
do because you guys, I know that straight build cap.
I wish I could wear a straight built cap like that.

Speaker 1 (30:58):
He looks so cool.

Speaker 7 (31:00):
He does rock a straight bill, you're right, and really
good looks. But you're wearing a hat in your Yeah.

Speaker 2 (31:06):
But it's it's been it's that's straight. Yeah yeah right,
that's right. That's what I was going for man.

Speaker 7 (31:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (31:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (31:17):
So that's a drekker And they're both raising money for

the giant skeleton behind you. Yeah, me too, especially because

(32:07):
we can only see his lower section. Tell you now,
there's the top of them.

Speaker 1 (32:09):
Thinking is that? Yeah? Is that actual size of Parker?
Oh my god?

Speaker 2 (32:13):

Speaker 7 (33:48):
Well, he has the name I like you to know.

Speaker 2 (33:51):
I'd like to know about his own. Now he's all,
is there. God's a determinator.

Speaker 1 (33:56):
You can't have the metal skeleton. Okay.

Speaker 7 (34:00):
His name is Disco Skelly. Yes, that's what they call
him here. So they turned this lighting system and whatever

and it's only for Christmas that he's donning the Santa
hat and the candy cane.

Speaker 1 (34:18):

smartly left for her winter home in Arizona last week.
So going just gonna say before I had this, but

I asked her specifically because I was like, that looks
very cute on her, but I know she bought at
the Target last night. Is she gotta take it back?
And the tag is still on it. I love it there, No,
it looks too cute on you. It matches your skin tone.

Speaker 7 (36:44):
So well, oh thanks, I mean it's a Cablenit pink sweater.
There were some real sharp changes of plans because of
the weather, and I believed we were coming to Fargo
at a later time yesterday, so when I did the
radio show, I didn't bring my overnight bags because I

(37:05):
was going to go home and take the flight later.
And the flight ended up getting pushed up significantly, and
I just went right from the radio show. I just said, yeah,
I can get to Fargo right on. I can get
to the terminal. So I went to Target and bought
as you do, Cablenit sweater. Yeah, under yeah, we're in

(37:27):
the same same socks, same jeans, and same shoes as yesterday.
A couple of hair products.

Vikings have a Sunday night Dayton Dallas for the Cowboys
pre game at five seven to twenty. Kickoff right here
on the fan. The Cowboys are five and a half
point favorites. Brian O'Neil named one of eight finals for
the twenty twenty five Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award. Neil it
was pitted against his former teammate Harrison Phillips and the

(38:51):
winner of the ward will be announced in the NFL
Honors ceremony before the Super Bowl. So good for Brian O'Neil,
one of just eight finalists and very sportsman like that,
Brian o'neiofella, Yeah he really is.

Speaker 5 (39:02):
Yeah, yeah, well it's just an incredible human being, period.

Speaker 2 (39:05):
Yeah. Good what do what makes some so sportsman like.

Speaker 5 (39:10):
Everything off the field and on the field correctly?

Speaker 1 (39:17):
Good for you, Brian, Yeah, way to go, man, respecting
the game, respecting the opponent.

Speaker 2 (39:20):
Amen.

Speaker 4 (39:21):
Also in the NFL world, of course, quarterback Philip Rivers
is coming out of retirement. How about that to sign
with the Indianapolis Colts. Forty four year old grandfather. Of course,
we'll play quarterback. Or at least he's signed, signed to
the practice squad. And my goodness, he's on the ballot
for the twenty twenty six you see this, he's on

(39:41):
the ballot for the twenty twenty six Pro Football Hall
of Fame class. But once he's officially added to the
Colts active roster, that whole thing starts over. And so
hopefully you can get a refund in that hotel room. Yeah,
my goodness, So Philip.

Speaker 2 (39:57):
Rivers, Philip Rivers is coming out that's right.

Speaker 1 (39:59):
It's how long since he Yeah did you say how
four years?

Speaker 5 (40:04):
Ye?

Speaker 1 (40:05):
So yeah, how about it?

Speaker 5 (40:06):
He was set to eible further back. But either way,
that's next year. Oh man, pretty incredible.

Speaker 2 (40:12):
Yeah, I know he passes physical, which I know I
would not. I'm ten years on him. Yeah, Marty, you're
ten years younger than him at thirty four. But do
you think you can pass the physical if you need
it to right now to get back out on the foot.

Speaker 7 (40:24):
Buffy, I could pass a physical. I could not pass
an NFL physical.

Speaker 1 (40:30):
Yeah, I'm five years away from that, and.

Speaker 2 (40:34):
I wouldn't even ask about it.

Speaker 1 (40:38):
I thought of it. Literally made me giggle like Marny.

Speaker 2 (40:40):
But yeah, well you know again, I wonder, yeah, there
it is. There's the giggle. I wonder, like, so there,
who's the starter there right now? Then? Do you have
any idea? They said the kid's name and I didn't
recognize it.

Speaker 1 (40:54):
Yeah, I didn't recognize the name either.

Speaker 2 (40:56):
It's somewhere, and yeah, I'm sure it's in there's some
one of us. But there you go. I've been liber
your next buddy. If Philip Rivers can do it, you
can do it.

Speaker 1 (41:07):
I'd love to see it.

Speaker 2 (41:08):
I got.

Speaker 5 (41:09):
I got a fifty one Liber jersey in my closet.
I'd love to bust that thing out again.

Speaker 2 (41:13):
You have a Lieber jersey, I do What do you
use it? What do you use it for?

Speaker 1 (41:18):
Well? I wore it, you know, back when you know
we were playing.

Speaker 5 (41:20):
Yeah, I'm sorry then, but it's been collecting think collectors.
But that being said, it's with a lot of collectors
collecting to us.

Speaker 4 (41:31):
Do you think liber has a Parish jersey in his closet.

Speaker 1 (41:34):

Speaker 5 (42:29):
You nailed at the first seven and you completely made
it worse.

Speaker 2 (42:33):
It's a winter, yeah, window, it's the tenth day of Christmas.
It's the Powers of Morning Show. We're gonna break. We'll

my Mike Chick Pilsner thanks to my friends at Bellbank

(43:52):
you Mel's got a beer too, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (43:55):
Yeah, that's familiar.

Speaker 5 (43:57):
I've heard his name is farts and many times in
my house.

Speaker 2 (44:01):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (44:01):
Well, I don't want to see what say?

Speaker 2 (44:03):
Yeah? Yeah. But also I want to tell you we
have another special guest and he's on the phone right now.
Can you punch up? Yes, I'd be lying ten.

Speaker 1 (44:11):
Please, There we go?

Speaker 2 (44:14):
No, no, got it? No, oh, here we go. And
that is the programmer, a program director of the Reach Foundation.
That would be Chad Harlander, My friend Chad. How are you, Harley?
How are you buddy?

Speaker 8 (44:26):
Doing well? Top of the more instellos.

Speaker 2 (44:27):
Yeah, listen, everybody, you're out in Hutchinson. I got to
believe there's some winter weather happening out there where you're
at am I.

Speaker 8 (44:33):
Right, Yeah, don't you know we got some snow. I
just got done shoveling.

Speaker 2 (44:37):
Oh, what are you guys on a are you guys?
You have school today? Are you on a bray? What's
going on?

Speaker 8 (44:42):
No, we got a too all with late starts, so
little late start and we'll get in there about nine
third and get going.

Speaker 1 (44:47):
Well, I won't keep you for.

Speaker 2 (44:48):
Too long because you got you got kids that need you,
and that's what the Reach Foundation is all about. So
could you tell me a little bit about what Reach
is all about, why we're selling beer and raising money
for you guys, and what you guys do. Yeah.

Speaker 8 (44:59):
I was so blessed about nineteen years ago. We wanted
to create a safe place in schools for our kids
who are coming in and just find, you know, trying
to find their place in this world, whether it's they're
dealing with mental health, chemical health, or just you know,
finding out who they are. And nineteen years ago we
started it, and we're very fortunate that the group of
kids that we started working with, they bought into it,

(45:20):
they found that sense of belonging and it just took off.
And we're so blessed. Riches now in forty six schools
across Minnesota and South Dakota, and in the summers we
head down to Texas and try to provide a little
support for kids down there as well.

Speaker 2 (45:36):
I know a lot about Reach and I've been involved,
you know, as much as I could possibly be, and
watching what you do, it's inspiring and seeing the kids
that have gone through the program and how much it
helps them is just I mean, it makes your heart
feel good. You are somebody who you seem to be.
You know, on caffeine, you're ready to go all the time. Man,

(45:58):
how do you stay fired up? How do you stay
engaged when there's so much need out there and so
many kids who need your help?

Speaker 8 (46:05):
Yeah, I think you know. Everybody comes out and you
and I have talked in the past. Everyone has a story,
and obviously back in the day, I had a story
and I was very blessed. I had a number of
people step up in my life, and I just believe
in all of us it's our opportunity and our responsibility
to pay forward. So my drive, my personal drive, is
every day to make sure that I give back that
what was given to me. And we start that usually

(46:26):
when the bus has started arriving by about seven point fifteen,
We're out to meeting about six hundred kids. Try to
bump every one of them and make eye contact and
try to connect with them and start the day off right.
And so I don't know that that's kind of what
drives me and drives us here in our district.

Speaker 2 (46:42):
How you said the reach has been around for nineteen
years now, Yeah, how have kids changed in the nineteen
years that reach has been around? What is going on?
What is the biggest obstacle for the kids these days?

Speaker 8 (46:53):
Yeah, I don't think I need to tell you guys.
Social media it's you know, it's kicking our tail and
our kids are disconnected, you know, to hear that our
kids say, or it's the thirty second mind and the
kids are always looking for that new thing. And I
think just trying to get our kids reconnected, reclaimed in
our youth is what I like to say. Social media
is so hard on our kids on so many levels,

(47:14):
whether it's mental health. You know, they're trying to find
a connection with somebody out there, their sense of belonging.
As I said earlier, So I would say right now
that's the biggest challenge. Mental health is on the rise
as we know, and I'm just what I'm really really
proud of with our district is that, you know, we
face that head on and we know it's a challenge,
and that's just one of our goals.

Speaker 2 (47:35):
You know, for people out there who perhaps don't have
a Reach program in their schools, or maybe they do
and they don't even know about it. Is there a
way for Reach to reach other schools that perhaps don't
have it right now? And how's that happen?

Speaker 8 (47:49):
Yeah, We've been very blessed to what usually happens is,
you know, they go through our district and they ask questions,
and the old email things starts happening, and a lot
of our schools that have started, they've come out and
what they've done is they observe a day, come and
spend the morning with us. They meet an hour with
our students, and they sit with a group of a
panel of our kids. And our Reach staff were not
part of that because we want the real truth spoken

(48:09):
when they meet with the kids, the real challenges they're
facing when they walk through our doors. And then they
observe a class that we have and then we sit
down for a Q and a so a lot of
times it's you know, school's reaching out to us, whether
it's for our district or coming and spending a day
and observing.

Speaker 2 (48:23):
I had a little kid, tell me, I'm a young
young person, tell me at one of the Reach events
I was at that sometimes she felt like Reach was
her only family. And I'll tell you, man, that's heartbreaking
obviously for a million reasons. But imagine the lives that
you are changing, man, and from all of us here, man,

(48:46):
thank you for what you're doing, for giving those people,
those kids an opportunity to feel like they belong and
that there's a place where they can go, whether they're
hungry or they're hungry for love and affection or just
for belonging. It's so important. Man. I'm just so grateful
for what you do.

Speaker 8 (49:01):
Yeah, I appreciate what you just said, you know, and
I'd share with you earlier. This Thursday, tomorrow night, we're
gonna have our holiday celebration dinner where we're gonna have
three hundred kids and their families, and really the message
of the night is just family. Just that we can
sit together, we can break bread together, we can laugh
and maybe shed the tear together, and just celebrate each other,
so thank you.

Speaker 2 (49:20):
Yeah, man, it's the best. I know. You got to
get ready to go to school. Take care of those kids.
Chad Harlander, Man, thank you so much. And again, if
people wanted to reach out to you to find out
more about Reach or maybe getting Reach into their school,
or maybe somebody just wants to reach out to you
because they want to help, how could they do that?

Speaker 8 (49:36):
Yeah, just reach out to the Hutchinson School District. That's
on our website. Then you always can contact me directly too.
My information's out there. I'm not hard to get a
hold of it.

Speaker 2 (49:45):
Yeah, you really aren't. Man, what you do is inspiring. Man,
you're inspiring do and I miss your face. Man, thank
you for it all.

Speaker 8 (49:51):
Yeah, thank all of you guys. Appreciate you.

Speaker 1 (49:53):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (49:54):
That's Chad Harlander of the Reach program. I'll tell you, guys,
you can't believe what they have created in that school
and how it's spread. And it's not just uh, it's
not just elementary school kids, it's it's high school kids.
In fact, it started in Hutchinson High School. And you
know how hard it is to get kids of that
age to communicate when they're struggling, but to.

Speaker 1 (50:12):
Watch these kids, a couple of teenagers.

Speaker 2 (50:14):
Yeah, oh yeah, you know it's incredible, man, because to
be and within the program in a in a in
a room full of kids, high school kids. Yeah, and
he says, okay, who wants to tell their story? And
every one of them put their hand up. When I
was a kid, you didn't talk about anything. Yeah, like, no,
I love it.

Speaker 5 (50:31):
You know it has You know, there are some things
about them that that you know, they've grown up a
little bit quicker. You know that you can see the
maturity level of my daughter, especially I guess I can, uh.
But at the same time, you know, she's got everything together, yeah,
and knows where, she knows what she wants to do,
hasn't quite chosen her college yet, but she's gonna ready

(50:52):
to She's ready to take the world by storm.

Speaker 1 (50:54):
Yeah right, you know.

Speaker 5 (50:55):
But at the same time, to get her to come
home and just literally just up from her phone and
look us in the eye to say hi or say
whatever is a bit of a challenge.

Speaker 2 (51:06):
Yeah, for sure. Wow, Marni a director there again, I'm
glad we had a chance to have Chad on because
that's again why we're selling the beer. And thanks to
Bell banker helping us out. But Marty, they have they
have a closet there in the school at Hutchinson there
and inside this little closet are bags of food and

(51:27):
it's open and never locked, and they make sure that
that room is dark from time to time so kids
who need it without being embarrassed, can walk in and
grab a bag anytime they want.

Speaker 7 (51:39):
Wow. Yeah, sometimes we just need to hear perspective like
that to remember how blessed and lucky we are and
that there are kids, there are people who need our help.
And that was as hard and difficult and uncomfortable as
that interview was to listen to, it was really important.
And Chad sounds like a pretty amazing guy. That's a

(52:01):
great program.

Speaker 2 (52:02):
It really is. It is the kids need are I wish.

Speaker 7 (52:04):
We didn't need it. I wish we didn't need it.

Speaker 2 (52:06):
I know, I know. I can't even imagine. I can't
imagine what it would be like to grow up these days.
I just I can't even imagine. But thankfully there's people
out there like Chat, all the teachers out there, everybody,
all the program directors out there with reach and everybody
out there doing their thing for the kids. Today. We
thank you for that. Again. Marnie isn't Fargo, so we'll
get back to the regular show after this. We'll gonna

(52:27):
do what really matters. And Marnie's got so many things
to say about so many different topics, it's just unbelievable.
She's she wants to talk about her run to Target
yesterday and the things that she bought outside of clothing,
some products that you want to review, and I really
I can't tell you how bothersome It is a KFE
dot com slash watch to see that that candy cane
looks like it's sticking in your ear out of the

(52:48):
groinal region of that giant skeleton behind it in yeah hand,
Yeah right. So she's a director in Fargo and the
rest of us are here. It's Pout Chip Morning Show
on a beautiful tenth day Christmas right here on the fan.

Speaker 4 (53:01):
The Friday Football Fees heads west to Buffalo, Wild Wings
and Plymouth this week, joined Pa Nordo and Alex Lewis's

Speaker 1 (53:13):
All morning long. Doors open at eight a m.

Speaker 4 (53:16):
All The details are cafe dot com, keyword calendar.

Speaker 5 (53:19):
Chris right out there by Corey's, and and and my
old place in Plymouth. Great b ups, great spot, greats
up there all the time.

Speaker 2 (53:26):
Yeah, that is the voice of Mark Perish.

Speaker 1 (53:29):
Hi.

Speaker 2 (53:29):
Even though he sounds like that, I'm still.

Speaker 1 (53:30):
Trying to wake up.

Speaker 2 (53:32):
You better sleep this smart.

Speaker 5 (53:35):
Yeah, just no, I just want to voice to wake up. Yeah.
And yes, I'm drinking a lot of water. I'm getting
more hydrated. I'm trying to get the gravel out of here. Hawk.

Speaker 1 (53:43):
I like it. So have you guys start teaching me
some vocal warm ups?

Speaker 2 (53:47):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (53:50):
Well, I just you know, Hey, I like to sound
but wait, you know, so nobody you know, so nobody's
wondering if I'm okay or not.

Speaker 2 (53:58):
Yeah, no, it's cool. Well I'm I'm glad you're here,
and I'm glad and Marty's with us by the way. Again,
Well in Fargo.

Speaker 1 (54:04):
I'm glad I'm here. Yeah, I'm glad she's in Fargo.

Speaker 2 (54:08):
Oh you would you'd rather be in far of them?

Speaker 8 (54:10):
What?

Speaker 1 (54:11):
No, I didn't say.

Speaker 2 (54:12):
That sounds like that's not what I said. We're gonna
do something. What really matters right now, let's do it.

Speaker 1 (54:16):
Yeah, that's what really matters.

Speaker 2 (54:18):
Right, that's right. If you're looking for Saucy. By the
way he's he's so sick, that's the war. He's just
sick of doing work.

Speaker 1 (54:27):
Well that's obvious, but yeah, you.

Speaker 5 (54:29):
Know, legit being sick and the way he is that
is that is.

Speaker 2 (54:33):
He said that that he thought that the whole family
was sick when he left here yesterday. What happens, It
goes to.

Speaker 1 (54:40):
The house, you know.

Speaker 5 (54:40):
Yeah, it's more often we got those little ones.

Speaker 2 (54:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (54:45):
Well, speaking of Sauce, he loved this story because he
gets about a drafty.

Speaker 1 (54:51):
It's not the NFL.

Speaker 2 (54:51):
Draft, hopefully it's not the Civil Service Draft.

Speaker 4 (54:55):
But the Minnesota Twins will have their highest first round
pick in almost a decade. The Twins dropped, of course,
one spot in the MLB's draft lottery yesterday. They will
have the third overall pick in the twenty twenty six draft.
The Minnesota will pick after both the White Sox and
the Rays. The club hasn't selected this high since getting
the first overall pick in twenty seventeen, which they used

(55:16):
to select royce Lewis.

Speaker 1 (55:20):
What really matters.

Speaker 2 (55:22):
Is this, when is the does it say when the draft.

Speaker 1 (55:24):
It's like next summer. I think it's still in the summertime. Yeah,
they do. They do it mid season. It's kind of weird.

Speaker 5 (55:30):
Yeah, the end of that whole draft, the way they
run thing is just confusing to me.

Speaker 2 (55:35):
I bet Marty knows.

Speaker 1 (55:36):
Marne.

Speaker 7 (55:36):
Yeah, it has typically been I want to say, like
mid junish or something. It has been on game nights
because I've worked many Twins games where there will be
the draft representative at the game and they will be
making picks. So it's a really unique.

Speaker 2 (55:55):
One that is weird. And there's seven hundred and thirty
thousand rounds. Yeah, I think it's yeah, something like that,
something like that.

Speaker 4 (56:04):
Don't we know somebody who was like on the show
that was drafted? Was there somebody? Were you draft Perish?
What did you get drafted in the amount we had?

Speaker 2 (56:12):
Like somebody you're right, somebody who played football or something, Yeah,
but got drafted in the lever No, but.

Speaker 5 (56:18):
I've talked to I mean Bounty and and those guys.

Speaker 1 (56:22):
There's a lot. I know.

Speaker 5 (56:23):
The drafts go more or less as long as long
as they want there's guys they want to pick.

Speaker 1 (56:28):
They're just gonna they're just gonna keep going.

Speaker 2 (56:29):
Did you get drafted, Marty?

Speaker 7 (56:33):
No, I did not.

Speaker 2 (56:35):
But you can have a draft beer from Dreker right
there behind you. Really get the Mike check Pilsner. Please
my beer. They're drinking.

Speaker 7 (56:44):
The guys at the table back here are having coffee
and beer. Did you do with your morning coffee? Somebody
brought me a coffee director, mug Joe.

Speaker 2 (56:55):
Did you put a little Grandpa's cough serp in there?

Speaker 7 (56:58):
I'm also having coffee here.

Speaker 2 (57:02):
Yeah, that's right, that's right.

Speaker 7 (57:05):
That's everyone's been asking about you.

Speaker 1 (57:07):
Yeah, you don't know.

Speaker 2 (57:08):
Well, I'm glad it didn't.

Speaker 7 (57:10):
There was no chance you were getting here otherwise. But
you are missed, You are thought about. You are you
are asked about? And I am saying some real realess.

Speaker 1 (57:19):
Your pretty thank you.

Speaker 2 (57:21):
I was pretty asked about your about it about as Yeah,
and Marty is a director there in Fargus. If you're
in Fargos, stup on by say hi to her. But
here's what really matters. A former je Jeopardy champion was
arrested on two felony charges of peeping. Peeping what are
you doing man?

Speaker 1 (57:39):
Wow?

Speaker 2 (57:40):
Philiposeph Joey Desina of Raleigh, North Carolina, was busted for
allegedly installing a camera in someone's bathroom without their knowledge.

Speaker 1 (57:48):
The hell Uh.

Speaker 2 (57:49):
Desina is a forty two year old development engineer who
walked away with forty ninety dollars after two victories November
of twenty twenty four and Jeopardy. He returned in January
for the Champion's wild card Turner, but didn't move into
the semi finals. But he is moving on into jail
for peeping.

Speaker 1 (58:05):
What are you doing?

Speaker 2 (58:06):
What was what was his name again, Joey Desina?

Speaker 5 (58:10):
Oh boy, yeah, yeah, places ye yeah yeah.

Speaker 2 (58:16):
Seeing us some number two? Why would you put that
in somebody's bathroom?

Speaker 1 (58:22):
There's so yeah, I don't know, you're sick and twisted.
I guess. I guess there's too many of those people
out there.

Speaker 2 (58:29):
There's tim sites for that stuff. Man, Marnie right Martins.
So Martie always says, don't be a purve.

Speaker 5 (58:37):
I'm just seeing you look there at your arms crossed,
smiling like I don't know somebody would be when we
were talking about something like that if they were one.

Speaker 2 (58:44):
Yeah, But I guess part of the the kink is
that you don't want people to know that you're seeing
that is part of the disturbing kink that this gentleman has.
Because if you want to see people do one or
two go on. Only fans cost ten bucks. How do
you know that a friend of mine, meat Sauce, he's
not here to defend himself, meets us, loves watching winning pup.

Speaker 4 (59:05):
He might be, uh, might be starting his own only
fans today, his own.

Speaker 1 (59:11):
Oh my god, right now.

Speaker 2 (59:12):
And you know that's somebody's thing.

Speaker 1 (59:13):
It is. How gross is that? Why do you bring
that up? Martin?

Speaker 4 (59:18):
There's a subreddit called projectile Vomiting Gone Wild and it's uh,
it's gross.

Speaker 2 (59:24):
That is the worst video VCR tape series I've ever seen.
Come back to you.

Speaker 4 (59:31):
The Minnesota timberrels off until Friday, when they will make
a one game road trip out to California to take
on the Golden State Warriors. The Wolves loss of the
Suns on Monday, wait one oh five, that snapped a
five game winning streak, they will they drop to fifteen
and nine on the year. Tip off, by the way,
nine o'clock on Friday, right here on the fan of

(59:54):
What really matters is this Before I.

Speaker 2 (59:57):
Go there, Marty, where what city. Do they technically play
in Golden State?

Speaker 7 (01:00:01):
Well, San Francisco, it is, like, yeah, it's it's on
the water, it's in the heart of it used to
be Oakland.

Speaker 2 (01:00:09):
That's what I thought.

Speaker 7 (01:00:10):
And now with the new arena, Chase Center, that's been
up eight years or something like that, six eight years.

Speaker 1 (01:00:17):
Yes, has it been that long? Wow?

Speaker 7 (01:00:20):
It was pre COVID, which is my timeline for everything,
because I was at Chase Center a couple of times
before COVID. So yeah, I'm gonna say it opened in
like twenty eighteen, maybe maybe nineteen, but yes, it is.
It is straight San Francisco, and it's a little bit
the when they built it and when they were talking

(01:00:40):
about like the traffic flow. It was so interesting because
of the challenge in that, you know, when you're coming
to a stadium, normally you can come from any of
the four directions north, southwest, or east, but the stadium
on a water on the water eliminates unless you're coming
from Ferry. Coming by Ferry, do you you know, eliminate

(01:01:02):
one of your four.

Speaker 4 (01:01:07):
I will say guards.

Speaker 1 (01:01:10):
He did guards.

Speaker 4 (01:01:12):
He didn't go to the gover A Wolves game, Wolves
Warriors game down there, and he said it was a
nightmare getting down there because there's like one road in,
one road out.

Speaker 7 (01:01:21):
Traffic in general in San Francisco is terrible. Yeah, when
even in the Wolves play we have police escorts because
of that the traffic issue in getting there. But most
people have figured out, I think, like the regular fans,
the how to use that bus or this train or
whatever public transportation because it's not a great idea to

(01:01:43):
drive there. But this, this Wolves game tonight or a
Friday night and Sunday are the ones that were never scheduled,
never on the original schedule until all the NBA in
season tournament stuff got shook out. So this was never
scheduled until I don't know a week and a half
ago when we found out we would not be part
of the NBA tournament because we are the Ncason Tournament

(01:02:05):
because we didn't close out the game in Phoenix.

Speaker 2 (01:02:07):
Yeah, so just a.

Speaker 7 (01:02:08):
Little backstory in information because hawk I know, you can
never have enough NBA insight.

Speaker 2 (01:02:14):
Well, I just I'm always fascinated by the city of
San Francisco because, first of all, I've been there a
few times, quite a few times. The weather's never great.
It's always cold, even in the summertime, which is crazy.
And it's the best baseball stadium I've ever been to.
It's the best baseball stadium. That is so cool. It's
right on the water. If you remember when Bonds was
hitting home runs out into the water. It's just it's

(01:02:34):
super cool. So I like that.

Speaker 7 (01:02:37):
Yeah, you got the guys in the kayaks chasing after
the Baseball's incredible.

Speaker 2 (01:02:42):
Right now, Parker Fox is shaking his butt on the
other side of my window at me right now. And
that's a large but tucks.

Speaker 1 (01:02:47):
That's hot.

Speaker 2 (01:02:48):
Yeah, yeah, And there he is. There's a mid section.

Speaker 1 (01:02:52):
High, Parker.

Speaker 2 (01:02:53):
There's Marni Marty's in Fargo right now. Many Yeah, she's
in Fargo wearing a cut park Good morning, Marnill yard sweater.
I forget what you called it, would you got it yard.

Speaker 7 (01:03:04):
Cable?

Speaker 2 (01:03:05):
Cable, knit cable. That's very nice, it's very cure. She
got a Targets show him the tag, show him the tag.

Speaker 1 (01:03:12):
You can return it still, that's what she's gonna do. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:03:16):
Yeah, if you like that sweater and he wanted so much,
you can get it at Target for about ten o'clock
this morning.

Speaker 2 (01:03:21):
Smells a little bit of beer and bo like this morning.

Speaker 7 (01:03:25):
Game one, they travel sized secret deodorant at Target as well.

Speaker 1 (01:03:29):
Did you really you're going to return that too?

Speaker 2 (01:03:33):
Yeah? Yeah, it's not a secret if you tell us
about it. There you.

Speaker 7 (01:03:40):
I hadn't planned to tell you about the sweater until
you've busted me.

Speaker 2 (01:03:43):
Well, I knew you send me that video walking into
the Target, so I knew where you'd gotten it.

Speaker 8 (01:03:47):

Speaker 7 (01:03:48):

Speaker 2 (01:03:50):
I put it up on my only fans. Oh yeah,
so well, so well, yeah, I've earned thirty five dollars.

Speaker 1 (01:04:00):
It's just women who buy clothes and then return them.

Speaker 2 (01:04:06):
It's my cake. Don't you shame me?

Speaker 1 (01:04:08):
You don't do that here? Nope.

Speaker 2 (01:04:09):
Tonight it's the twenty eighth season finale of South Park
at nine o'clock on Comedy Central. I haven't seen a
single episode this season.

Speaker 1 (01:04:16):
No, I have not either. I'll have to catch up

Speaker 2 (01:04:21):

reminds me a little bit of Mornie. Actually, Marty, you
remind me a little bit of Zoe Dishanell. I don't
know why. But you've got a new show on Amazon
called merv Man comedy starring Zoey and Charlie Cox as

(01:05:03):
a couple who reluctantly reconnect after their breakup in order
to cheer up their depressed dog. I hope it's very Christmas.

Speaker 1 (01:05:10):
That's very nice.

Speaker 7 (01:05:11):
I know she's real quirky. I don't know if anyone
plays quirky as well as Zoe Deschanel. That New Girl,
she was in New.

Speaker 1 (01:05:19):
Girl, she was.

Speaker 3 (01:05:20):
Yeah, Taylor and I are watching that. Tara and I
are watching that actually right now. So very night before
we go to bad we watch an episode.

Speaker 2 (01:05:25):
The Ancillary Characters on that show are so good.

Speaker 1 (01:05:27):
Yeah, it's funny.

Speaker 2 (01:05:30):
Yeah, they're so good.

Speaker 8 (01:05:31):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:05:31):
And of course her best role was in Almost Famous
as the Big Sister someday o cool. Well no, no,
almost Famous is better than off I love, but almost
Famous is better. And then finally, the series premiere of
something called Simon Cowell The Next Act on Netflix. The
series about Reality is about Simon Cowell returning to his
roots as he sets out to create a new boy band.

(01:05:56):
How do we move down from boys?

Speaker 1 (01:05:57):
What the world's looking for? Right?
