(00:46):
com the way tire buying should be. And don't forget
this Friday. We're getting excited. You're excited. We're gonna be
at the Graduate Hotel in Eugene, Oregon. So do you
want to come hang? Well, be there doing our show
live from to four local time, in that a four
to six pm happy hour right afterwards. So that's this

(01:07):
Friday in Eugene, Oregon, and then the following weekend the
same exact thing in Tempe, Arizona. Hope to see you there.
The happiest hour. Yeah, man, I'm excited and welcome to
a very happy two hours of Covino and Rich. We're
giving away prizes. We're doing a very special Monday edition
of Iron Mike Trivia, so some multiple choice boxing Mike

(01:30):
Tyson Trivia. Iron Mike might stop here oh himself and
deliver the questions. Plus, like I said, prizes, fake outrage.
There's a story about Dan Quinn. We got to talk
about moments that put you over the hump. Lots of
stuff to get through to get to on the Covino
and Rich Show. But I hope you had a Lomachenko, Pacers, Nuggets,

(01:51):
Jared Goff sort of week again. My goodness, yeah man,
he had got huh yeah, good for him. You forget
he was a top pick. It's not like he's some
clown but a little rebirth in Detroit, dude, the city
loves him. It's great. Man made the playoffs last year,
had a little run going on, No for sure, man,

(02:11):
So it's like a perfect fit. That's all. Props to
him signed a new deal. But like I said, some
good fights over the weekend. Lomachenko at a big win.
He's back in the one thirty five pound division. He's
shaking things up again. Maybe a fight with Tank Davis
or Schakur Stevenson in the future. So some good fights,
some good basketball, and some good basketball tonight. I'm super
pumped about it, and I hope you had a great

(02:33):
Mother's Day weekend. You know, some crazy things happened at
the fight, and I'll tell you about that too later on.
By the way, some major flubs when you talk about
the fight game. Yeah, I find that'd be such a
thin line between when someone's done or right back at it.
If someone loses two fights in a row in boxing
or the UFC. In my mind, like might as well

(02:55):
hang it up. You lose one, you come back strong.
It's almost like to a good guy, now you're back.
You know who ruined that, Floyd Mayweather. For all the
great he did in boxing, he made that oh, that
undefeated fifty and oh seemed to be like a milestone
that everybody has to achieve. Like if you have a
loss or two, you're out of the game. When you

(03:16):
see mixed martial arts, you see UFC, all the greatest
of champions have multiple losses. They lose. Sometimes you win,
sometimes you lose. It happens, dude, it happened. Were washed
up about your dude, Ryan Garcia. Ryan Garcia got beat
by Tank Davis and he kept taking on pretty tough
fights after that. He won. But I just feel like

(03:37):
you start getting to that Connam McGregor territory where you
lose multiple times in a row, and then it's like,
well you might have the name, but are you done?
You know what it is? Rich Sean Porter said this recently,
who's been on the show. He's a great fighter. When
he was done and he knew he was done, it's
that ability to keep training. He said, I didn't want

(04:00):
to train anymore the way I knew I had to
to compete at the level I'm capable of. And once
you lose that desire to train and that discipline, the
train that you used to the way you used to,
you're gonna lose out to a guy who's on that
level of discipline and regiment. You lose once, no, biggie,
that doesn't mean you're done, but you lose two. Yeah,
if you're able to get back into that mindset of

(04:23):
discipline and training hard, then you're right back in the mix.
And Lomachenko's that guy. He's the real deal. So he's
sort of back in that mix because he was crispity
crunchity this weekend. He looked super crispy and, like I said,
some controversy before the main event that we'll talk about
here on the show. But I did want to start

(04:43):
with something that drives me nuts. Yeah, not the steering,
wheeling me Pence. Something that drives me nuts, No, I know,
bad John. That should drive everyone a little nuts. Is
fake outrage. I'm sorry, as Big Mike's aid commune. Faux outrage.

(05:04):
Faux outrage. Oh, who said that Mike runs his place? Mike?
Where was he eating a croissant at the time? Doctor love?
Fake outrage. I just want to remind everyone it doesn't
have to only do with politics. It crosses over into sports, media, entertainment, music.
There are times where you see headlines where you're assuming, man,

(05:26):
everyone must be really upset about this. Well, there's so
many headlines that grab your attention and the keyword is
usually outrage, and you always have to ask yourself. Wait
a second, who's outraged? People are outraged? He's like, whoa
dumb instinct is to be like, oh, people are outraged,
maybe a few on social media, But is there really

(05:49):
a huge outrage that's always described in the headlines. But
of all the things, I don't know why it bothers
me so much when people label things as outrage. Ninety
nine percent of the time, no one really cares. There's
a headline today. There's been so many stories like that,
too many, and some touchy ones if you want to

(06:11):
talk about them, fine, because some of these stories I
understand some of them are may be wrong and people
were mad. But where people really outraged away social media
and knew the news made it out to be. I
don't know. You know, it gets people to click, yeah,
for sure. But this one headline, Commander's head coach Dan

(06:33):
Quinn sets off wildfire of rage wilildfire of reach wow
after wearing level a vintage T shirt that references the Redskins.
Another headline, Well, hold on, let's let's describe the shirt.
Dan Quinn is wearing a commander's shirt, but over the

(06:57):
w logo for Washington Commanders. There's two feathers to pay
homage to the former team known as the Redskins watching Redskins.
So it's just an unofficial shirt that he's wearing, and
the Commanders organization We're like, yeah, we had nothing to
do with this. He chose that on his own. It's
not official NFL merch and he's just wearing some cool

(07:20):
T shirt. Now. Is it cool or is it outraged?
That's my point my going off fire rage are kind
of cool? Wow. My point is I've seen every headline
talking about how people are outraged or people are mad,
and I just got to ask the simple question who
Because I saw the shirt and my first thought was, Oh,
it's a command their shirt with a little tribute to

(07:40):
the Redskins heritage. She's two feathers, Yeah, just two feathers.
My first thought was believe it or not, Danny g.
My first thought was cool shirt.

Speaker 2 (07:48):
Yeah, me too, easily available on the internet right here.
I sent that to you guys, And the thing that
we were talking about in our pre show meeting was
how come the Chiefs and the Braves fans still get
to do the tomahawk chop and keep their nicknames and Mike,
who runs this place?

Speaker 1 (08:04):
Somebody say who for?

Speaker 2 (08:09):
He was telling us that it was about the skin color,
because red skin, you know, so take that away. And
we said, okay, So if the nickname offended some people,
then couldn't they have just kept the Redskins logo and
changed the name. Could have been like the Commanding Chief
and kept.

Speaker 1 (08:24):
The logo exactly. So I see this shirt, my first
thought is cool. Oh if if I'm a Commander's fan
formally Redskins fan, I'm thinking, wow, that's a damn cool shirt. Meanwhile,
everyone's like rage, and my question will always be says
who rage? Who says? What's upset? Says who? Who is upset?
That's what you got to ask yourself all the time.

(08:47):
Who's really mad at this? You know, when you see
I don't know, cartoon characters get canceled or or pepul oh,
cartoon fans are outraged, you like, well, who are they?
One maniac on social media? Who's causing us? Think about it?
Pun intended? Peppy lepe? Who's upset with this?

Speaker 3 (09:09):
So we asked the townspeople really want to kill the beast?

Speaker 1 (09:12):
Or was it really just guess Stone that was upset? Ah? See? Uh, yeah,
the rest were followers. We're just followers. Actually, you bring
up one ironically. Yeah, there was a story about a
gay character in the live action Beauty and the Beast, remember,
and there was outrage. It's like, was there anyone really
out you know, anyone that was mad? But Josh Gadd's

(09:34):
character like had a little twinkle in his eye and
they insinuated he might be a gay character who cares.
But there was quote outrage, people are outraged. I always
want a gay character and Beauty and the Beast. I
don't know anyone, not one person that was outraged. You know, hey,
did we notice? Did it cause speculation? Was it worthy
of bringing up in an article? Sure? But outraged? The

(09:55):
word outrage drives me bananas. So this is, by the way,
this is a wildfire of outrage. So this is next level?
Is it? Is it a little slight? Is that how
people are perceiving it? Like, I don't care what we're
calling ourselves. I'm still acknowledging the fact that we're Redskins.
I think the new the fact that the new coach
has a connection to the heritage of the team. To

(10:16):
be honest, I saw it. I'm like, wow, what a
cool way to pay homage without being disrespectful. The feather
on the w it is being a little disrespectful. I
mean it's not. But maybe by doing it, you're saying
a little nanny nenny poof, poof. But again, who's mad
about it? Mike Florio fainted, it's the floor hilarious? But

(10:37):
who that's so? I mean, if anyone's gonna be outraged,
it would have to be Native Americans. I mean, who
else would be outraged by that? But always ask them
is that homage or is that in your face? Sort
of sneak this? Think about it. I think it's just
homage to, Hey, we used to be the Redskins. We're

(10:59):
not anymore. Here's homage to what we used to be
without being disrespectful, because it's not. I don't think there's
really any disrespect there. It's just two feathers that coincide
with the w of the Washington Commanders now and again,
the NFL and the Redskins. I'm sorry. The commanders said
that they have no affiliation you know, to this shirt

(11:24):
shows it on his own. They said that because of
the outrage to the wildfire of outrage. Just just a reminder,
whether it's politics, news, music, sports. You're always gonna hear
people throw around buzzwords, and one of those will always
be people are outraged, and you got to ask yourself,
and you always have outrange is never consistent, That's the thing.

(11:44):
Like Danny g also brought up, how come the Braves
and Chiefs are still doing the tomahawk chop? How's that okay?
But the Redskins had to change their logo and everything else.
We did speculate that, Well, the fans do that, and
you can't stop the fans. But you know, it does
go with the hypocrisy of what's okay and what's not right,

(12:04):
and what certain ethnicities are fair game and some aren't. Like,
if we're gonna change the way we do things, it
has to be fair across the board then, right, That's
the way I see it. Yeah, but either way, I
didn't see this as a bad thing at all, But
apparently the news is painting this as a wildfire of outrage. Now,

(12:25):
if this is offensive to some people, that's fine. You're
allowed to be offended, and everyone has different opinions. I'm
just not seeing that right now unless you convince me otherwise.
But every hot button issue, let's be honest, there's a
couple people just a way of getting our attention. I
guess there's a couple people that find something wrong with it.

(12:46):
Can I give you another example? Please do well. This
is by no means reference to the great Dan Meyer
who has all of our late breaking news. But if
you're watching CNN or something like that news channel, they
always have breaking Like I feel like we've overused breaking news,
Like that's not really a breaking news headline. If you

(13:08):
turn on CNN, it always says breaking news, breaking, Yes,
that's not breaking news. So just like broken news, yeah,
it's it's broken for a while. Misuse of outrage is
not outrage. Some people don't like it. There's not a
whole army of people with uh signs of protest against it.
No one's lighting anything on fire because they're outraged, or

(13:31):
there's no wildfire of outrage as for sure. Maybe on
Twitter somewhere, maybe maybe, yeah, maybe there's a little collective
group on the social media. But again, we do a
lot of times feel this pressure to accommodate the one
or two people that are upset about something like you
could get your kids school, like we had to cancel
this event or something. It's like someone was offended. It's like, oh,

(13:51):
it's the overuse of the word man outraged. No one's
outrage offended. It's not breaking the outrage not No one's offended.

Speaker 2 (13:58):
The definition is an extremely strong reaction of anger, shock,
or indignation.

Speaker 1 (14:05):
If you surveyed, if you were Steve Harvey and you
put on your big mustache and you're like top five
ances on the board, and you did a little survey
and surveyed one hundred people that were Washington Commander formerly
Redskins fans, what percentage of those people do you think
would be mad about this shirt with a W and

(14:25):
a feather on it. I'd say maybe four out of
one hundred. I think the ones maybe the major the
majority of those people, ironically would not even be natives.
That's the weird part about it. There's a funny ass
video that went viral over Sinco to myle weekend. It
was some gringo local, some white guy wearing all Mexican gear.
Did you see that? He was wearing like a poncho,

(14:46):
a sombrero and a fake mustache and he was going
up to all these people. He's like, does my outfit
offend you? And every Mexican guy was like, no, you
look great. No, I love it. No, that's great, you
look fantastic. And then it was all the other feweople
that weren't Mexican that were offended by it, which is
so odd. Yeah that's cultural appropriation and uh yeah, that's

(15:07):
not cool. We should take that off. Meanwhile, all the
Mexican people were like, yeah, you look fantastic. So I
don't know who's outraged rich But again, if it bleeds,
it leads, and we got to stop falling victim to
stupid headlines like this. But unless, of course, like I said,
you see it otherwise. Dan Quinn was wearing a commander's

(15:29):
T shirt, an unofficial commander's T shirt, and it had
two feathers on it, and a lot of people are like, oh,
that's kind of cool. In fact, I think most people
that's kind of cool or ooh is it cool? Or
ooh I don't see that much ooh.

Speaker 2 (15:46):
I think this is where an organization like the Commanders
needs to stand up to any supposed outragers and say,
look at this, can't offend you because we're not using
the nickname any longer. It's two feathers, deal with it.
That should be one of their official logos. I think
it looked cool on that ship. And remember the intent.
Intent matters when we have these discussions.

Speaker 1 (16:06):
Right, fine, make the changes, make everything the right way,
But was the intent to ever be you know, moving forward.
I understand it's derogatory looking back, but we were viewing
all of these logos as if they were warriors.

Speaker 2 (16:23):
Yeah, strong none None of us grew up thinking that
that was a slight to anybody.

Speaker 1 (16:27):
No, I think you were a brave or if you
were a Cleveland Indian and these were strong figures and
that's the way we perceived them, and that's why they
were the logo. So I think intent does matter in
a lot of these stories, in a lot of these cases.
So enjoy the rest of your day and always remember
when you see words like offended and outrage, always ask

(16:48):
yourself before you get pulled into the stupidity yourself, ask yourself,
what's the intent? Who's outraged all these things? He was upset?
Or are they just trying to get us to buy
into some story happens happens all the time. Is it
a story or are they trying to make a story.
That's the other thing too, So dan Quinn with the

(17:09):
T shirt that I'm sure a lot of people are
looking up right now because they want to buy it.
It could be a hot T shirt. I promise you,
I promise you. All Right, well, hey, we got a

we have a Patreon too, so check that out and
join our fun. Before this show where Rich gets unleashed

(20:07):
and he brings a wildfire of outrage every day, that's
on our patreo wildfire of outrage. You know. I I
was thinking about this off the air when we're just
on our break. There's people that get upset about things
or they say someone gets upset, and again, you always
have to remind yourself that is someone really getting upset

(20:28):
just a headline. I'm sure somebody, because let's be real,
there's a bunch of waenies that are super sensitive. So
somebody's upset, but that doesn't mean it's a majority or
even that many of people to cause what they're calling
an outrage. And then there are headlines and stories where

(20:50):
there's outrage from both sides of an issue, And then
I still ask myself, yeah, but today really care. A
great example would be Antrmima when they took her name
off the syrup. Yeah, I said syrup like a Middle
America country guy. Spot I'm in the New Yorker, I
would say seyrup, syrup. So when they take when they

(21:12):
take Antemima off, in fact, there's a lot of people
that faked like they cared that it was ever anter
mama to begin with, and they were. Then there were
people that were making it seem like how terrible, like
on both sides. It's like you really gets it's fake
sugary syrup.

Speaker 3 (21:27):
And if you want to compare it to this exact
example of the Dan Quinn shirt, the new Antemima, it
says Pearl Milling Company and in the corner it says
formerly Aunt Temima. So this is like, it's the Commander's
formerly the Redskin.

Speaker 1 (21:43):
Basically, I'm out rased that they still have Barbara Bush
on the Quaker oats box.

Speaker 3 (21:47):
It's not Barbara Bush. It is Barbara Bush, now, don't know.
Don't laugh at that.

Speaker 1 (21:54):
Then you know what? Get Ben Franklin off my Quaker
oats that happened? Who is it that it's the Quaker guy? Anyway,
I's where you are this weekend. The Netflix is a
joke festival. Steve could be to everybody. But you know what,
as a half breed Voto loco forever, they try to
create a lot of stories where there's none. They've tried
to cancel Speedy Gonzales a million times, and I can't

(22:15):
tell you how many times. And I don't speak on
behalf of all Mexicans, but the majority of them are like, no,
that's our mascot, but not so trying to cancel No,
I like slow, I love him, but it never gets canceled.
But people try to create stories of outrage where there's none.
And I think this is another example because, like Danny
g said off the air, this would be the perfect

(22:35):
example of a happy medium, like you know Rich Davis's
shirt size happy medium that this is a great example
of just homage. Sounds like Elvis. Sometimes this is homage
to what the team formerly once won. And you know what,
Dan Buyer said the same thing, which makes us I
think we're all on the same page. Is anyone really

(22:56):
offensive about it? No, there's two feathers. It's the washing
w for commanders and two feathers and Dan Quinn wore
it and people were like, what's that about? At least
that's what the news is leading you to believe. But
we don't know anybody that's mad about it. Do you
think that like it would have to happen this way?

Speaker 6 (23:16):
Like do you think it would have like worked in
a compromise Previously they were like, okay, change the name,
change the logo, but you can keep it a little
of it will be good. I feel like if you
would have done it at that time, there would have
been a backlash of like no, just abolished the whole thing. Like,
I feel like we almost had to go back that
far and then kind of almost like a wave.

Speaker 1 (23:35):
You're probably right. The immediate response would have been, well,
why why are you so old? Just get said on
holding on to defense. Yes, yes, But then, you know
what I've learned over the years, and I'm sure you
have as well. I always assume that people that made
these decisions were like, way smart and awesome, and as
you get older, you're like, you start to know people
that make decisions. You're like, that's the guy making decisions,

(23:56):
that's a woman making decisions. So you know, it could
very well have been like just not a well thought
out thing.

Speaker 2 (24:02):
Timing is everything, you know. One of the headlines that
has come out of the Tom Brady roast is that
it feels like the culture shift is coming back this direction. Yeah,
where you can loosen up a little bit.

Speaker 1 (24:14):
Hey, just remember not everyone's always offended by everything the end.
D Yeah, let's go to Dan Buyer for an update.
What's going on, Dan?

Speaker 6 (24:21):
Yeah, guys, the Jerry Goff contract the big news, but
there's a lot of news today in the world of sports.
Gets a four year two hundred and twelve million dollar
extension one hundred and seventy million dollars guaranteed according to
the reports, and the fifty three million dollars that he'll
make an average annual salary is the second highest in
the NFL, only behind Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow. The Buccaneers

(24:42):
made safety Antwine Winfield Junior the highest paid defensive back
in the NFL that includes Corners guys, a four year
deal worth eighty four point one million dollars. He gets
forty five million dollars guaranteed. The Chiefs will open up
the twenty twenty four NFL regular season in the Thursday
night Kickoff special at home in Kansas City, and what

(25:04):
will be a rematch of the AFC Championship game is
They will host the Baltimore Ravens, Celtics and CAFs tonight
seven o'clock Eastern time their Game four. With Donovan Mitchell
questionable for Cleveland because of his calf injury, Celtics up
to one. A Game four in the West is in
Dallas Thunder and MAVs don thirty Eastern time. Dallas is
up to one. Brownie James has been cleared by doctors

(25:26):
to play in the league. He's expected to take part
in the NBA Combine.

Speaker 1 (25:29):
This week some.

Speaker 6 (25:30):
College basketball news the SEC laying out their conference opponents
for next year's basketball schedule. It includes Kentucky in Arkansas
playing in Lexington, so John Klipari will return to face
his old team at Rupp Arena. There will not be
a return affair for Kentucky to go to Arkansas. Iowa
women's basketball coach Lisa Bluter announced her retirement after twenty

(25:54):
four seasons.

Speaker 1 (25:55):
Guyspeck to you, you know, I was thinking more about
things that got changed because maybe like one one person
got upset about it, and again it goes to the
conversation of well, who's really mad? Like one person maybe? Right?
Do you remember you would always tell me about how
you would go to these really adorable daddy daughter dances
with your kid. Yeah, And slowly but surely was like,

(26:15):
well we're now gonna call them like daughter gets to
pick a special person dance like something ridiculous, because like
maybe one person's like, well she doesn't have a dance,
so what There's always something that pushes that where it's
like you think, the more outrage, but it might just
be one person complaining just like a handful of people
not worthy of like let's change everything for it. But

(26:36):
then there's always the argument of, well, if it offends
one person, what's so bad about making that adjustment if
one person's offended. I don't know, but just call it
a wildfire of outrage. That's a bit overboard, at least
from what we're seeing now. Don't think that was dan
Quinn's agenda when he wore the shirt with the feathers

(26:58):
on it. I mean, do you think there's a wildfire
of outring by from anyone about Jared Goff becoming the
second highest paid quarterback in the NFL?

Speaker 2 (27:06):
It probably should be. I mean, I mean, he's worth
some good money, but I don't know about the second highest.

Speaker 1 (27:11):
You know what it is? Kevino says that we all
say it, so it's not like anyone owns this thought.
But bro, I'll repeat it every time in any sport,
it's almost like unless he sucks, or unless he's definable
as mid level, like Baker Mayfield got a great deal,
but we knew he wasn't gonna be the highest paid guy.
If you're sort of close to the top level, it's

(27:34):
almost like next guy up is gonna get the highest pay.

Speaker 2 (27:36):
Yeah, it's been like that for NFL QBS. The argument
is should it be like that?

Speaker 1 (27:40):
It's always like next guy up, Right, It's like next
guy up gets the big payday, next guy up in
the NBA payday, and it always happens that way. Before
we talk about flubs, it was a major flub that
happened over the weekend in the world of fighting fighting boxing. Rich,
I want to say that not only does your shirt
offend me, but you're offends pitcher Eddie Harris from Major League. Yeah,

(28:06):
shirt off today. He's wearing an up your butt Joe Boo.
He's wearing a Joe Boo's rum. This is the movie
Major League. This is my Joe bue shirt. Yeah. It
defends me as a as a Catholic. You know what
I've heard, Joe bu He's no hell for curveball. No, No,
I love Rich's T shirt. By the way, Rich is

(28:26):
wearing a graphic T shirt that you probably get an
ad for on social media, a bunch of random movie
T shirts. I'm telling you this Washington Commander's T shirt
is gonna be one of the highest selling shirts in
the next few days. All Right, well, you know what.
Speaking of breaking news, we got some news. Let's go

(28:48):
breaking news from Fox Sports.

Speaker 6 (28:50):
So guys, we found out chiefs Ravens to start the season.
NFL schedule will be released on Wednesday. Now there's some
news being made. Sometimes leaks come out. Fox Sports has
just announced that Tom Brady will be broadcasting his first
game for the network when the Dallas Cowboys face the
Cleveland Browns in Week one of the NFL season in
Cleveland four twenty five Eastern kick on Sunday afternoon, Week

(29:15):
one Cowboys and Browns. That will be Tom Brady's debut
as the lead analyst for the NFL.

Speaker 1 (29:22):
Wow. So Kevin Burkhardt, Tom Brady him obviously replacing Greg Olsen, Yes,
Olsen sticking around. He says he wants to be the
number one guy, and he wants to be there. He
wants to be the number one guy somewhere. That sucks
because he did such a great job only to be
out shined, out named by the great Tom Brady. That happens, man,

(29:43):
I know, but he sort of earned it. I'm not
a fan of that. Look, tom Brady has all the
star power, I get that, but Alson sort of earned
that job. I've been there, man, I don't like that. No,
because he earned it. There's a difference between earning it
and showing that you could do it and then like
Tom Brady. I get it that he's Tom Brady. But
don't you think Olsen got a little diss there. I

(30:06):
don't think there's any question, not a little bit. Because
him and him and Burkhardt had a great comedy, had
a great chemistry. You can't you can't just teach that.
You know, it's either there or it's not sometimes, and
I don't I don't doubt that Tom Brady will do
a good job. What I'm saying is that Olson earned
that gig. And you can say that's life. But I
don't know, man, I don't know. Joe Montana tried it. Remember, Yeah,

(30:28):
not everybody's great at it. Not everybody's great at it
for sure. When you look at the NFL schedule which
comes out on Wednesday, is it advantageous for the league
to leak these things? I think it's funny because it's
their big announcement, But they're gonna leak these little things
just what to keep themselves in the conversation, Which is
funny because it's like it's coming out Wednesday. We'll give
you a couple of bread crumbs, don't now Here's why

(30:49):
I don't like that too, though, Rich, right, you and I? Yeah,
we have what one more a year and a half
on our contract. Yeah, okay, I think we're doing a
hell of a job. We're doing a great radio show
every day. I mean, in my opinion, my mom says
the show is great after every show, Steven, great Fox
sports radio show. Thanks Mom, she's your biggest fan. Happy

(31:11):
Mother's Day. All it would take is some sort of
former super Tom Brady's like, I want to do a
show every day and sports radio. It's bigger name than
Cavino and Rich. Even though you're doing a great Hey guys,
you did a great job. But it's been nice working
with you. Because you know, Tony Romo wants to do afternoons,

(31:31):
we'd be like, what Crownkin Edelman want to get together?
And do you know Phil Simms is looking for a gig?
What you know? What about us? That's why I don't
like it. So yeah, Phil Simms and Boom aren't they
doing a two blonde dudes? They do a new new
podcast exactly, you know, like I don't like that at all,
based on that could happen to anybody. I don't like,

(31:53):
you know what, not only can it. It's happened to
a lot of people listening to our show. You're working
your ass off and a lot of times and you
know what to say, great lesson alike, but you you
may lose in quality because of the name. You know,
just because Boomer and Sims has a bigger name, that
doesn't mean they're bringing as much entertainment as Cavino and
Rich did.

Speaker 2 (32:12):
Two Blonde Dudes is market, but you can still be
on that show Two Blond Dudes and a Cup of Brown.

Speaker 1 (32:22):
It's happened to so many people where you think you're
up for the job, and they may go outside and
bring in someone from a different company. And that's when
a lot of people say, if I'm not getting this
opportunity now, then I got to go somewhere else. And
that's what I think Olsen has insinuated without saying it,
like I'll do my fox in rut, but that would
be they're going for the press release. It's not necessarily

(32:43):
they're going for quality and I'm not. And again that's
not to say Tom Brady isn't going to be great.
The truth is, we don't know if he's going to
be great. But everything to he was really on his
way to being that guy. Yeah, but I mean everything
Tom Brady touches is sort of good. I don't like it. Ah,
but that's life, all right. That's what the people say.

(33:03):
Shout right and high in April, shout down in May.
All right, we got more Covino on Rich next right
here on Fox Sports Radio now Friday. I'll tell you
where we're gonna be. We're gonna be at the Graduate Hotel, Eugene, Oregon.
Be there two to four pm. We're gonna be doing
our show. You could sit in and hang and watch
a show, or you could also hang after the show.
We're doing a four to six pm happy hour party

(33:26):
at again the Graduate Hotel and Eugene organ Well, whether
you're headed to campus to see some college baseball and
meet up with old friends or show off you're alma
mater to your kids, springtime is the right time. Springtime
is primetime in college towns. And if you're planning a trip,
two words graduate hotels, six words graduate hotels with Cavino
and Rich. Yeah, that's good. There you go. No better

(33:46):
place to stay. Yeah, and I mean as long as
Tom Brady doesn't replace us, we'll be there Friday. You cheat, Oregon,
don't forget up to thirty percent off your stay with
code see our show that's good at any Graduate Hotel,
any location up to thirty percent off. Go book your
stay now out Graduatehotels dot com and make sure you

(34:08):
or something, go there now, Graduatehotels dot com. Oh, blue Eyes,
that is life. Olson earned the job. Je Olson was
on top, and Tom Brady comes and takes his job.
Because he's more handsome and more popular doesn't mean he's better.

(34:30):
Has great hair too, has great hair. Yeah. Well, Cambayer
announced moments ago breaking news that not only is you
know the Chiefs, Raven's gonna kick off the NFL season,
tom Brady's first assignment Cleveland, Ohio, the Brown's gonna be hosting.
Look at me, I already forgot oh Cowboys. Brown's Cowboys

(34:52):
the late game first Sunday of the NFL season. So
Tom Brady starts his broadcasting career. I'm sure he'll be
great Tyraq dot com studios and ready for a new
job Dickey Doodle Davis let Express Employment professionals help expresses
hiring jobs and variety of industries and job seekers. Never
pay a fee at Express. Check out expresspros dot com

(35:13):
to find your location. That's expresspros dot com. So dumb.
I feel like I just saw something that maybe laugh.
You ever see one of the Google Earth cars? Was
it your high school picture? Because I saw that. That's
pretty dumb. Do you ever see a Google Earth? Yes,
car passed with the cameras and all that stuff. Yeah,
of course that happened actually in front of my parents' house,

(35:36):
and my dad was outside raking leaves and he's like, yeah,
who the hell's in front of my house? And if
you Google Earth where my parents live, my dad's on
the front lawn, like what do you want? What are
you doing for of my house? But his face is
blurred out right. They have to do that, you know,
it's slight, it's blurry, but you know it's him. They
only they only blurred out the shotgun. Yeah, you were like,

(35:57):
is that ravishing? Rick rude Yanni underwear? My dad is
definitely one of those guys. That's mad that someone parked
in front of the house, that drove slow in front
of the house, that did a U turn in the driveway.
That's my dad draft one of those stupid Google cars
drove by. Yeah, and these guys all saw that it
was coming. So a bunch of bros just all took

(36:18):
their shirts off and flexed. And now when you go
to that address, when you go to this guy's address,
it's him and all his buddies outside the house flexing.
So hey, just know that when you see that van
going around with the you know, I think my dad
mustache should garner more attention than these bros flexing. But okay,
so thanks Rich. Did you say you were on one?
Did you say that? No, you were, I'm on one.

Speaker 3 (36:41):
Aren't you on one? In New York with your old show?
You were walking down down the street. I am on
it that you could see walking.

Speaker 1 (36:50):
I know that you don't even know your own story.
I mean, can we cancel Rich for being a dumb ass?

Speaker 3 (36:56):
Like was it on like forty six or forty seventh Street,
New York City, or like crossing the street on your
way to breakfast?

Speaker 1 (37:01):
I'm just I don't know.

Speaker 3 (37:02):
I was as as playing, Yes, he's got two slices
of pizza in his hand.

Speaker 1 (37:06):
I lived the life of Forrest Gump? What can I say?
Covin on Rich Fox Sports Radio Now. Over the weekend,
hopefully you had a great mother's day. What did you
see more of, by the way, guys, pictures of your
friend's moms and wives, or pictures of people saying, look
at the northern luks. I think it was a toss up,
right both, Yeah it was a tie. Yeah, it was

(37:27):
a tie. So a lot of that over the weekend.
Probably hung out with your moms, probably saw some cool
northern lights, and maybe you watched the fight over the weekend. Look,
we had great basketball. I watched a lot of baseball.
Looking back at Game three, now the Knicks are like,
oh beause could have Yeah, it was like they were

(37:49):
like this close to going up three to zero, and
now it's like a news t best now it's the
best of three.

Speaker 2 (37:55):
Well, every time Minnesota seemed to come back in that
game yesterday, what happened three pointer drive, three point play,
and one for the Nuggies.

Speaker 1 (38:06):
Doesn't make you like embarrassed of yourself to think that
you doubted the Nuggets for a second, like you were
that Jomal Murray shot at the half was awesome. Oh yeah,
I think eight point turnaround? Yeah, thats great. I think
I heard it was it like Oro or someone on
FS one, like just straight up apologize because last week
they were like, what's for a likely Denver comes back
or sweep and they were like, sweep baby sleep. But

(38:28):
it's like everyone thought Minnesota and I was like, well
hold up, wait a minute, this is the Denver Nugget
defending champions.

Speaker 2 (38:34):
So defense of our show, though nobody on our show
said sweep, nah, not at all. In fact, we said,
Joker's not gonna go out like that. You're not gonna
play that bad three games in a row.

Speaker 1 (38:44):
And I believe it was you that said, Danny that
just picture the Joker sitting there stirring, knowing that they
dropped two at home like they were not going to
sit back. So, hey, you know what, you got some
NBA playoff series? Now, we said tonight, I think the
one team that won't hold their endo, this Parking Camino
is the Cat. But you could have four series that
are tied to apiece after tonight, and I think you know, ok,

(39:06):
C Steels won on the road tonight you got three
two two series, which is all the NBA could ask for. Yeah,
super exciting. And aside from all the basketball and baseball
and whatever else you watched, there was a fight over
the weekend. Lomachenko fought. He fought George Cambosis, who if
you guys remember he became the undisputed unified champion when

(39:31):
he beat Tiafimo Lopez. But tif Lopez was was hurt,
he was sick, he had something going on with his
black lawn, he had something with his lungs, and Cambosis
was the champ. Then he got beat by Haini. But
if you rewind, Lomachenko was the guy before all these

(39:52):
names started creeping into that one thirty five division, Lomachenko
was pound for pound for a year, dude. Like you
said earlier, Mayweather's zero losses really sort of skewed our
stupid minds to be like, I guess, the best don't lose.
The best lose in fighting boxing UFC. As you pointed
out earlier, So Lomachenko had a rough minute. But based

(40:14):
on what I saw this weekend as well, Yeah, so
Lomachenka lost to tia Fimo Tiafimo lost to Cambosis. Are
we following, Yeah, Cambosis and Lomachenko fought this weekend, and
Lomachenko proved that he's still the guy, even though he
lost a close one to Devin Haney a few months back,
which I thought he won. But before that even happened,

(40:34):
there was another fight. Nina Hughes is the WBA bantamweight
champion in the women's division. Right, so Nina Hughes is
fighting Ternika Johnson now Tcherneka Johnson is from Australia, so
this fight was in Perth. It was in Australia, and

(40:56):
she's the hometown hero. She fights her ass off, and
throughout the whole fight, they're like, Wow, looks like we're
gonna have a new champion. It looks like we're gonna
have a new champion in her hometown, her hometown, and oh,
it looks like we're gonna have a new champion. And
then something happens and you're like what, So, let's just
say there was a major, major flub over the weekend.

(41:17):
We're gonna play that for you and go over some
of the weakest flubs in sports history or in life
and play you some of that audio, because I'm sure
you may have missed it, but it was a big
story when it happened, because everybody was like, what the
hell just happened? It doesn't even make sense. I'm shocked
that it was a Steve Harvey put it that way.
This is a really embarrassing moment. So we'll we'll fill you

(41:38):
in on that. But I'm more shocked than Youmac. Like
I said, the boy the cries Fight of the year. Yeah,
all these fights that you talk about knell you know, Hani,
Ryan Garcia. There's a fight this coming weekend, two undefeated
heavyweights Oushik and Tyson Fury, and that's the fight I
haven't heard you say a peep about. Why do you

(41:58):
keep saying that I'm excited about this fight the same
way I'm excited about every fight that I'm excited. I
don't know, dude, you think I'm not tuned in for Fury?
Oh sick this weekend? I'm camosis and this guy because
this just happened. And by the way, you sound like
a ninny, because you're the type of guy that needs
some sort of Jake Paul spectacle or heavyweight fight to
be excited. I hate to break the news to you.

(42:19):
These smaller dudes are putting battles on so these fights
matter too. We're gonna play you this flub and we
have Iron Mike Trivia next hour right here on Fox
Sports Radio, Cavino and Rich
