Speaker 1 (00:22):
I think it's funny when you see the headshots of
a w NBA player, or a lot of women athletes
for that matter, because there's a there's a decision that
needs to be made. If I were to be like, hey,
I would say, I look over here, jeez, would you smile?
Would you give like a a mean mug? Would you
like not smile? Like?
Speaker 2 (00:41):
What would do? What's your instinct?
Speaker 3 (00:44):
I think i'd naturally, uh put a grin on my face.
Speaker 2 (00:48):
I point like shooting McGavin. Hey, some people like you.
Speaker 1 (00:52):
Cavino might put up his little Vato SOCOs thing and
put back like he's a hard votdo gather.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
I throw up gang signs usually, But where are you
getting at?
Speaker 1 (01:00):
I'm getting at if you look at all the headshots
of the different women in the w NBA, it's like,
do I smile? Do I try to look sexy or
do I put on an athletic like fierce.
Speaker 2 (01:11):
Like like a like a mean face.
Speaker 1 (01:14):
When athletes, when you look at all their I guess
you would say they're headshots, to lack of a better term,
like their profile pictures on their teams. A few are
showing teeth like, smiling like hey, some are trying to
look a little flirty, and some are like and I
think guys just don't think about that stuff as much.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
It's like a teen picture if you ever played organized
sports at all. The kids smile on like a Wiener
ruined the picture. You gotta look hard, like this is
my team. We're ready to win. We're taking this picture
because we're here to win, not look like a bunch
of cheese weenies. Aren't you usually happy when you win? Nah,
you're there to win. Put your game face on. If
you're taking a team picture, anything sports related, game face.
(01:57):
I want to see your cheesy smile with you.
Speaker 4 (02:00):
My little nephew, they're doing a coach pitch in his
league right now, and they all have their own baseball car.
Speaker 2 (02:05):
Are you you look determined yet?
Speaker 5 (02:07):
No?
Speaker 4 (02:07):
He has a fake smile, and I should do that.
This past weekend. I gave him a little lecture. I said, dude,
you've got to have a game face. See your game
face me see the face to intimidate the other.
Speaker 1 (02:18):
Team, and let it be known there's nothing sexist about this,
because people try to pick apart everything people say. It's
just interesting that when you're seeing a lot of the
promos for the w NBA, the new season, probably the
most anticipated w NBA season, you're seeing a.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
Mix of like, am I supposed to smile? Look cute?
Or look like? Can you do all three at once?
That's the question.
Speaker 1 (02:41):
Well, look at Kim's Look at Kim Skim's campaign. Skylar Diggins,
Canvas Parker, and Kelsey Plump are all making the three
different faces I speak of.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
It's like what am I trying to? What am I
trying to put in novill speak? So my point I.
Speaker 1 (02:58):
Wanted to get to was not that, but that tonight
is a big nine for women's sports. Kaitlyn Clark makes
her debut, and Camino said to me, y'all, dude, you
watch him tonight.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
Well, what I said was, usually when I wake up,
I think about the day ahead of me and what
do I have to look forward to? And one of
the first things I thought of when I was doing
the bull scroll this morning, starting off the day like
I always do, just scrolling through social media, It's like, ooh,
that's right. Tonight is Caitlyn Clark's WNBA debut, and I'm
(03:29):
pumped for it. I'm not a big women's college basketball fan.
I'm not a big WNBA fan, but I am very
excited to see how her talents translate. And I think
it's gonna be the big story of the night. By far.
You got Pacers, Nicks, they're tied at two, Timberwolves, Nuggets
all tied at two. You got great NBA. But the
story tonight and tomorrow when we wake up will be
(03:52):
Caitlyn Clark's debut. And as a guy who likes to
be involved in what's happening live and what's happening now,
and I don't want FOMO and missing out on anything
that's happening current in sports, I am tuning into that.
I want to see. It doesn't mean you can't have
your eye on the NBA as well, but I want
to see how this pans out and what the story's
gonna be. Did she stink it up? Did she light
it up. That's the story. I'm gonna be tuning in.
(04:14):
I as well enjoy it because you're not gonna hear
about it ever. Again, that's what rich is saying. After
the debut. Rich Is saying, the buzz is over after
the debut. Okay, Nah, I don't know.
Speaker 4 (04:25):
Man, I don't know what If she balls out, you're
gonna hear and see highlights.
Speaker 2 (04:29):
If she balls out, that is the biggest story of
the night. It's her. It's not good that she's gonna
come into the w NBA and fizzle. If that's the story,
then that If that's the story, Danny g and she
stinks it up, still a big story.
Speaker 6 (04:43):
Her talent's not gonna fizzle, her attention is gonna fizzle.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
I don't know. She's got star powering out.
Speaker 1 (04:49):
Like every time an NFL draft happens, everyone's really excited
week one or two, like yo, what what's Bryce Young
gonna look like?
Speaker 2 (04:57):
Yo?
Speaker 1 (04:57):
Anthony Richardson like this year, all lie, I'm Caleb Williams.
Week one, all eyes on us, like what's he gonna do?
And then eventually, unless the team's any good, you're gonna
look at it and say, oh, Bears game on primetime, Well,
Kaitleb Williams.
Speaker 2 (05:13):
But if they're like two and four, you think all
these people who went crazy over Caitlyn Clark the past
two years, crazy Iowa Sam rockin' her pjs. He's from Iowa. Yeah,
but still she had casual fans, non fans tuning in.
You think all of a sudden they just don't care
(05:33):
because she had one bad game.
Speaker 1 (05:35):
No, not one bad game. My my thought is hype.
Like the Jersey Shore, there was a time where they
were the hottest person.
Speaker 2 (05:44):
You can't compare it to Snooky.
Speaker 6 (05:45):
Dude, think's no, She's a generational talent, you moron, So
with Snooky, get out of my face about Snooky in
the Jersey Shore.
Speaker 2 (05:54):
Dude, I'm not even a big like I said, WNBA fan,
and I'm excited. That's why I'm very cop on. I
think a lot of people are excited about it and
will continue to be excited about it. I mean, if
especially she lights it up, if she stinks it up,
it's still a big story.
Speaker 1 (06:08):
You're allowed to be rooting for something, just not expecting
the outcome. That would be nice. Like I'm rooting for
the w NBA. I'm root for women's sports. I hope
they make that money. I hope people watch. I'm just
saying that tonight all lies on Kitlin Clark. I just
wonder if what is it May fourteenth? On June fourteenth,
are you gonna watch an Indiana Fever game on a
(06:29):
Tuesday night. My question is my thought is no, but
you may say yes. And if that's the case, then
then good for Then one's gonna make people watch. It's
gonna be her.
Speaker 2 (06:40):
So that's also what makes it an interesting sort of
story to see, to watch, to see how it pans out,
and it starts tonight. Now, you said two things could
be true, So what are the two true things.
Speaker 1 (06:51):
That that I'm rooting for women's sports to succeed? Okay,
but that doesn't mean I think that I think that
that that. I think the WNBA is gonna make this
massive leap. I think they're gonna have better ratings than
ever before. I think they're moving in the right direction.
But if you think all of a sudden, the casual
sports fan is gonna be like two, did you watch
the fever game last night? I just don't see it happening.
(07:12):
And you know what, it's It's not a prisoner of
the moment thing. It's it's a matter of NCAA women's
basketball is exciting, right because there were matchups. It's one
and done lsu Iowa, then South Carolina, there was a Yukon.
There were so many great matchups and games. I think
an Indiana Fever Tuesday night game only works because it's
her debut. Otherwise, who's watch.
Speaker 6 (07:34):
I think attention will kick up again, it like the finals,
the championships. Yeah, if it if they're involved, so you'll
get that attention more so than you normally would.
Speaker 2 (07:44):
Is there pause? Are you tuning in? Will it fade?
Is what Rich is asking, because let me tell you,
he was very whole hum about it when I brought
it up earlier. Well, I'm still who hum.
Speaker 1 (07:53):
I'd like to me, like you're asking me what I
care about tonight Knicks Pacers, and you're yeah, that's that's
still a solid day to be fun to watch. But
you could, like you said, two things could be true.
Speaker 2 (08:03):
You could be excited about Nick Pacers and still be
fired up about the result of her debut.
Speaker 1 (08:08):
Of course, I'm just saying not now, I'm saying months
from now. I hope that the people that are all like, yeah,
Caitlin Clark. I hope they keep up their enthusiasm because
it's good for women's sports. It's good for the game.
But I just wonder I'll go back to my snooky analogy,
because I think there's something there you could say, Jeremy Lynn,
if you want to make it sports, there's people that
for a moment, they have the hottest interview to get,
(08:31):
Like in how Nicki Glazer right now is the hottest
interview because she was killing at the Brady Roast in
a month from now. Yeah, you could get Nicky Glazer
on the show. She's a Palavars. A great example would
be the girl that caught Otani's home run.
Speaker 2 (08:49):
Dany g got her on that day. Two days later,
her neighbor doesn't even want to talk to her, do
you know what I'm saying?
Speaker 1 (08:56):
Like, it's all like, what's in the moment, right, Give
me a story that was popular months ago? And if
you could even think of one, that person's pretty easy
to get. Now, well, the news cycle moves so fast,
faster than ever the next thing, I get what you're saying,
We're onto the next, like Jay Z, on to the next,
on on to the next, we're onto the next story,
(09:19):
especially in the world of sports. But I don't see
her start fading at all. And what makes it even
more intriguing and enticing and exciting to watch is how
so many old heads in the WNBA were downplaying her
abilities and saying they wouldn't translate in the WNBA, which
gets me a guy that doesn't care all that much
excited to see if it does. And that's why I'm
(09:40):
taking a stronger stance on it, because when I tell you,
I thought I cared the least, I'm excited to watch.
So I find your stance on it like interesting because
I think she has the star power to get everybody talking.
It's gonna be the biggest story of the night, and
you're downplaying it.
Speaker 7 (09:57):
I may be biased as a Cavino guy here, but
I do side with Steve in this.
Speaker 2 (10:03):
There's I hope you're I hope you're right again, I said.
Speaker 7 (10:06):
And the reason that I that I say that, And
I'm just gonna use Zion Williamson as an example because
I would say that Zion Williamson's career so far professionally
has been somewhat underwhelming.
Speaker 2 (10:16):
Oh right, without a doubt.
Speaker 1 (10:18):
He was ripping shoes in the in college and he
was the next guy. Like the Zion has been a disappointment.
Speaker 7 (10:24):
And the Pelicans have really not, you know, gravitated towards
the top of the West. He's been in and out
and then when he was doing well. But when he
was doing well, we're still like Zion in those little moments,
like even though it hasn't been a lot of momentum,
I think it's going to be the same with Caitlyn Clark,
whether it be tonight, whether it be this season or
(10:44):
in the next season. If she doesn't have a good
start and she gets acclimated, it takes her a year
or two. I think that star will be back up
to the to the megastar status.
Speaker 3 (10:53):
Iowa Sam, and I think all of this is kind
of unfair to her. I mean, this is her first
Are you gonna cry?
Speaker 2 (11:01):
No?
Speaker 3 (11:01):
I think you are you shitting a tear right now?
I'm okay, I'm dry. I'm just saying I'm just trying
to put emphasis on this that this is her first
game as a rookie, and we're like, oh, we're gonna
turn in. What's gonna happen, What's gonna happen. She might
stink for a few months and then maybe she starts
getting a going. But this is immense amount of pressure
on her.
Speaker 1 (11:21):
But you know what, Sam, she needs that. I'm okay
with that. You know why is the greats people that
break through?
Speaker 2 (11:27):
Right? What makes someone the right guy?
Speaker 8 (11:29):
What?
Speaker 2 (11:29):
Why do people always say that Jackie Robinson?
Speaker 1 (11:32):
What made him so special that not only was he
was the first African American baseball player, but he was
the guy that was up for the job. Like he
he dealt with racist a holes, he succeeded on the field,
like he did everything right. If it was someone else,
it may not have worked out as well. If Caitlin
Clark wants to be the woman that takes sports in
(11:52):
the woman's world to the next level, she has.
Speaker 2 (11:54):
To take on those pressures.
Speaker 1 (11:56):
Think about, like, how come we don't talk about the
first gay player in this bort of that's work because
there's no real star.
Speaker 2 (12:01):
There was no star breakout player, Like it.
Speaker 1 (12:04):
Wasn't there like a random like the Raid or a
Carl Nassaid, right, Like who's a good player?
Speaker 2 (12:07):
But for that that Sam? Yeah, yeah, the.
Speaker 1 (12:10):
Ram I not Ia Sam Michael, Sam, Sam Ram Sam
and Sam the ram. It just uh, it needs to
be the right person. So if Kmlin Clark's the right person,
then she could take on that pressure.
Speaker 2 (12:22):
Yeah, and I'm rooting to see what happens. That's all tight.
That's exciting. It is exciting.
Speaker 6 (12:27):
But I do think a lot of people are like
posturing or like pretending like they care. They're they're riding
the wave of excitement and like the news cycle. But
it's they're gonna lose interest.
Speaker 2 (12:37):
Spot.
Speaker 6 (12:37):
It's about the conversion rate. The same people are excited
now that are really like talking about it, really into it.
If they're, like you said, excited in a month, then
the conversion rate will be high, and I think most
people will not care.
Speaker 1 (12:49):
Oddly enough, Spot and I agree. We never agree on
and we never got it just and again, like I said,
two things are allowed to happen. When the forty nine
Ers Chiefs went into overtime, my gut told me, oh,
my team's gonna lose.
Speaker 2 (13:03):
But I really wanted the Niners to win.
Speaker 1 (13:05):
But deep down inside, I'm like, yeah, I can want
that all day my homes in overtime, we're toast. I
want this to go well for women's sports in the Wnba.
I just feel like tonight will be like, oh cool,
all eyes on Caitlin Clark. I just wonder in a
summer Tuesday night, June July, when you got other things
going on, are you're really gonna be caring? And my
(13:28):
my instinct is I don't think people will care.
Speaker 2 (13:31):
Well, it's funny you Snooky as an example, because she
came out fifteen years ago and they're still doing it. Yeah,
but do you care as much? No? But they're still
doing it, dude, and they're still doing it and they're
still very popular.
Speaker 6 (13:44):
You loved Jersey Shore. You should have been in Jersey sho.
I still watched a little of the highlights on social media.
But do you watch Jersey Shore Family Vacation everywhere to
watch TV?
Speaker 2 (13:52):
Exactly?
Speaker 1 (13:53):
But the point is, but the point is, at one
point we had Snooky in the situation on our show,
Danny g and it was like it was like the
get like the fact that we had them all was like, yo,
we got them on. This is when every single person
was pumping their fists.
Speaker 2 (14:06):
And you know what, I like your stance because now
more than ever, I'm rooting for Kitlyn Clark to light
it up. Got to stick it in your pompaus face.
Good again, Everybody tune it in and be like yo, man,
it's like Lisanity. She's lighting it up just so you
can come here with the expression egg on your face.
A couple of years later, a couple of years.
Speaker 1 (14:24):
Later, Jeremy Lynn got a goofy haircut playing the best
sit in the bench and try. You want to ring
you nerd without playing your nerd matter, you don't have one.
So I'm very pumped to see it. And I'm not
a big Caitlyn Clark guy Iowa, Sam. I do agree
with what you said. I don't think anyone could deny.
She's got a lot of pressure on her.
Speaker 2 (14:40):
Is it fair?
Speaker 1 (14:41):
No?
Speaker 2 (14:41):
But she's got to step up to that. And that's
what also makes it intriguing. Can she be that person?
Can she carry that weight on her back? Can she
still perform with these pressures? I think she can. She
had an immense Mountain College. The w NBA is not
greater than what she was doing there. The storylines in
college were better, though.
Speaker 1 (15:01):
Yes, Lsu again, jel Ree, South Carolina, undefeated, Becker's and
the and all the successful talented girls at Yukon.
Speaker 2 (15:09):
There were it was like it was bigger than the
men's tournament. That was amazing.
Speaker 1 (15:14):
So I get the question. Is big one of the
player on the fever? You couldn't. I couldn't.
Speaker 2 (15:18):
Don't lie to yourself. I got the fever for the flavor, bro,
I got the fever Indiana fever. Rich wants to know
if you think the buzz will fade Clearly he thinks
it will or will it transit which will be a
bigger star in the w NBA. Let's hear your feedback.
Let's chop it up. I want to hear every seven
seven ninety nine, fox At, Covino and Rich.
Speaker 1 (15:39):
I don't want to be I don't want to be
the jerk, but spots At it's all.
Speaker 2 (15:43):
I'll I'll back up what he said. I don't mind.
Speaker 1 (15:45):
There's there is a layer of people on social media
and people in public saying what they think is the
nice thing to say.
Speaker 2 (15:53):
Right. I'm not being righteous at all. I promise you
everything I'm saying right now is real good for you.
I'm serious. I think there's so much interest there and
I don't give a diddley squat about the w NB.
You do you watching tonight? Yeah? I say that respectfully,
and I'm being real about it. I don't want to
see how his pants.
Speaker 8 (16:10):
Out right, the Debbie.
Speaker 1 (16:13):
Downer, Oh not, I said, I'm rooting for it. I'm
not the Debbie down In fact, I'm not for it.
Speaker 9 (16:17):
But he's not even watching the first game that he
has all this like Perspots has no interest on the game,
but he can tell you how it's all gonna go.
Speaker 1 (16:30):
No one's in the care week from now, Strauss. I
don't want to be Debbie Downer. That's why I was
hesitant to even say this. I'm just trying to be honest.
How you feel good? We we out here in l
A heard that Lionel Messi was coming to l A
FC with what was it, Miami Sound Machine yet in
Miami's how Machine Gloria stuff, I thought.
Speaker 2 (16:50):
So he was like, oh yeah he hit that. Oh
the crowd got turnt when he hit that.
Speaker 1 (16:58):
So when Messi came out here, Yo, Danny g we
were at that game. Caveno was like, yeah, this is sick.
Have you watch a game since honest? Dolly black and Gold,
Dolly black and Gold?
Speaker 2 (17:14):
Remember Spot used to golden urinal? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (17:17):
Spot took a picture with David Beckham in the VIP.
I gotta ask both of you be honest and wait
a second for me to finish the question.
Speaker 2 (17:24):
We're talking about it his career. What even let me
finish the damn question? You blabermouth? I sent to you
eight hundred words per second, this guy, and he's complaining
I know the question. You don't need to be an
I'm ftine to know your question. Have I tuned and
you did ask it? Bozo? You talk so much you
(17:44):
don't even know you said it. Have I tuned in
since you said that? Have you diarrhea mouth? Rich Davis?
Have you I have? Do I care?
Speaker 1 (17:53):
No?
Speaker 2 (17:53):
But I didn't care leading up to it. And he's
on the down side of his career, houndside. I was
at the game. Yes, he's not at the pinnacle of
his career. That's why he's in the mlsu Boso. This guy,
I mean, Caitlyn Clark is about to make her debut.
We don't know how that's going to pan out. You know,
the story starts tonight as a professional. That's why it's intriguing.
Speaker 1 (18:15):
You know as much about soccer as Ted Lesso soccer
my boy anchor every night Jay in Minnesota what's up Jay?
Speaker 8 (18:23):
Hey guys, thanks for taking the call.
Speaker 2 (18:25):
Say hold on, Jay, do you need a lozenge? He
needs a pine brother? What's up?
Speaker 5 (18:31):
Man?
Speaker 2 (18:31):
Sounds like a WNBA coach for you somewhere. Stop yelling
at the players.
Speaker 8 (18:37):
So here's the deal. We cannot expect Jaylen Clark to
go out and perform like you did her senior year
of college. The competition is bigger, faster, stronger, better rebounders,
better shooters. However, I do think that she will involve.
Just like a new freshman coming into a program. She
will adapt, She'll get stronger, and I think a year
(18:57):
or two down the road, she is going to be
the face.
Speaker 2 (19:01):
And you know what, and I wish that for her.
You don't wish that, because if you wish that, you'd
be excited to tune in to see how it starts.
Speaker 6 (19:11):
This may be a horrible analogy because I'm really bad
at analogies, but somewhat of a parable parallel example Jason Kelcey, Right, Yeah,
just signed on to be a part of the Monday
Night football team as an analyst. Yeah, Monday Night helt right,
riding high on his popularity.
Speaker 2 (19:27):
Great, This is actually pretty good now, Thank you.
Speaker 6 (19:29):
Riding, Let's see where it goes, riding high on his popularity.
He just retired, got the obviously, the podcast attention, the
Taylor Swift attention, ripping off his shirt at the game,
and now he came in and replaced r G three.
We're gonna all be excited for him. But he might
come in, he might suck, he might not be great
as an analyst. His the interest made.
Speaker 2 (19:51):
He might be great as an analyst. But I think,
to wrap up your point perfectly, would would be the way.
Speaker 1 (19:56):
If Travis Kelcey is no longer dating Taylor Swift and Kelsey,
Travis isn't in the spotlight as much like no, they
got Jason Kelsey.
Speaker 2 (20:04):
Huh yeah, like I don't like. But it all starts
in a few years. It'll be just like RG three,
and they'll get rid of him. You'll be tuned in
for the debut, just like you'll be tuned in for
Tom Brady's debut, exactly Cowboys Browns. He'll be tuned in
for the debut. So to downplay the debut of Caitlyn
Clark is asinine. It's just dumb, all right.
Speaker 3 (20:23):
Rich is arguing the law of diminishing returns right, Yes, diminished?
Speaker 2 (20:28):
So is that you get something?
Speaker 3 (20:30):
I think generally he gets you just take something and
it's just the effectiveness, the efficacy of it, the attention
brought to it just wears off over time. But like
if the Olympic team hasn't been announced yet, right Dan,
I don't think so. So that'll that could boost her
name in on social media and into on TV again.
Speaker 2 (20:50):
Uh so, I'll get I'll give you a great example.
Speaker 1 (20:52):
The first game when played in the NBA, we were
in Las Vegas. We were all glued to the TV.
We saw him walking through the casino. We were freaking out.
Danny g was right there with him. Mid season, Well,
you locked into a Spurs game that was on TNT
or something just because Wenby was.
Speaker 2 (21:12):
You saw highlights.
Speaker 1 (21:13):
But I'm telling you it's like and the Spurs stunk
and the Indiana feed he won Rookie of the Year.
Speaker 2 (21:19):
And the Indiana fever. I'll tell you the difference are
gonna win the NBA is he could change the franchise.
And that's great and all. We've seen that before with
superstars in the NBA. We have yet to see someone
in the w NBA be that person. That's the difference.
We're talking about changing the league, let alone the franchise.
Speaker 1 (21:38):
I'm saying Brittany Grinder was in a prison. Half the
people hated her. Half to people loved her for everything,
and they have to like like dy was Sam said,
do people even watch her interview?
Speaker 2 (21:47):
I mean people people do move on quick. I mean
that I won't deny, but superstars if they're real and
legit superstars. I mean, do we ever stop talking about
Lebron We're talking about a sun, We're talking about him
at the Cavaliers game. We never stopped talking about lebronos.
So if she is that type of player, we're not
(22:08):
gonna stop talking about her. And guess what it all
starts to night to nice s.
Speaker 1 (22:17):
Itppends all too nice exactly. Damn Bayer, what's up, my friend?
Speaker 7 (22:23):
You guys mentioned the NFL and Tom Brady. Yes, we
know another game that Tom Brady may be broadcasting. Mark
it down, Rich Davis. Week seven, October twenty fifth, Jordan
Schultz is reporting it will be a rematch of Super
Bowl fifty eight. The Chiefs and Niners will be playing
in the Bay Area, kickoff four twenty five Eastern time.
(22:43):
That will obviously be the America's Game of the Week
on Fox, but Week seven chief set Niners.
Speaker 2 (22:50):
According to Jordan Schultz, I love.
Speaker 1 (22:52):
How the NFL the schedule clubs at tomorrow, but they're
doing their cute little strategic leaks.
Speaker 2 (22:57):
It's like, it's very funny to me. There's a little
piece of cake, and here's another one.
Speaker 1 (23:01):
Here's Aaron Rodgers first game, Yes, tell everyone, and that
will be at San Francisco, facing the Niners on Monday
Night Football in week one.
Speaker 7 (23:09):
The week two Thursday Night game launching the Amazon portion
of the season will feature the Bills at the Dolphins.
Speaking of the Chiefs, they're going to be hosting the
Bengals in Week two. That'll likely be CBS's big splash
in as they'll be kicking off at four to twenty
five Eastern time. Doug Gottlieb, host here at the Network,
is the new men's basketball coach of the Green Bay Field.
Speaker 1 (23:30):
Yah wait, you got Doug Dan You forgot to also
mention at seven pm Eastern the Indiana Fever kickoff tonight
with Caitlin Clark. I figured you guys get a cover
off now, yeah, tip off, not a kickoff. You're right,
to tip off my mom. It up drops at seven thirty,
puck drops.
Speaker 2 (23:46):
It's a big story now, I know, I know it is.
Speaker 5 (23:51):

Speaker 2 (24:38):
Hey, did you know fun fact about Toad the Westprocket
west Brocket A little person plays the drums. Absolutely, look
at their videos. He's a little person. I bet you
didn't know that. Yeah, yeah, you tell any difference.
Speaker 1 (24:51):
But back then you could say the other word for it, right,
I don't know what you're talking about. So question, Yeah,
and def Leppard had a one arm drummer.
Speaker 2 (24:58):
Did you know that I.
Speaker 1 (24:59):
Didn't now a spinal tap? He didn't always have kidding?
Didn a Motley Crew have a drummer with a really
big heart?
Speaker 6 (25:08):
Drumstick drumstick, drumstick drum a vote with it.
Speaker 1 (25:15):
Good intentions? Yes, we brought it up earlier because of
Caitlin Clark. And I was just talking to Patrick and
Bursh about this and I'm like, they are bad today.
Speaker 2 (25:23):
But intent is great.
Speaker 1 (25:25):
I said to these guys, I said, listen, I want
you to be honest with me, because I feel like
during the n C Double A Tournaments, we were all
very genuine. I felt a pure sense of real when
we were all intrigued by l s U versus.
Speaker 2 (25:42):
Iowa and then oh, what's you know?
Speaker 1 (25:44):
Look at Becker's and Yukon and South Carolina is undefeated.
I feel like there was a no faking genuine I
mean like genuine interest.
Speaker 6 (25:52):
But everyone becomes a men's college basketball fan during that
during March Madness.
Speaker 2 (25:56):
And this was an exception. I think, So I think
what happens?
Speaker 1 (25:59):
I think once I said to Bursh and some of
the guys in the editing room.
Speaker 2 (26:03):
Patrick, I said, you said to them, but probably didn't
give them a chance to speak. They're probably just a yes, dude, yeah,
uh huh. But go ahead. It's a little rude. Why's
that rude? Little rude? Well, I know Rich. You guys
got to get your head out your asses. I know
(26:23):
this guy for twenty something years. Here's how he positions it.
You guys mean to tell me you're gonna be tuning
in tonight. Let's be real. What is Burs gonna say
in that moment? Well, honestly, Rich, yeah, I think I am.
He's just gonna say yeah, I don't know. To just
move on with the story. He doesn't give him a
chance to answer fairly. He positions it in such a way.
He leads that way. You think I'm I know this guy.
(26:46):
I know him. I know how he positions questions. When
he leads, Rich bleeds yes, Gad, how did you position
a question? I guarantee you positioned it that way. I
guarantee you said, Beyonnest God is you're tuning in? Are
you Rich? Or are we?
Speaker 1 (27:04):
Who are the Yankees playing today? Because I hope whoever
they're playing has the best day. Everyone's like, you got
a tear in your eye?
Speaker 2 (27:09):
Rich? Are you okay? Yankees are off today? No, they
were off yesterday.
Speaker 1 (27:16):
Anyway, Here's what I said. If the Indiana fever are
four and ten in a month from now, and the
fever of playing on a Tuesday or Wednesday night, I
feel like it goes from general enthusiasm when it was
Iowa lsu yukon two. Now we're just pretending we're saying
(27:38):
the right thing, like I'm gonna support it and watch
and you're not going.
Speaker 2 (27:42):
To might be right, and it might be right. You
may be right, I may be crazy. But it all
starts tonight, yes, So for you to be whole home
before it even starts doesn't make sense. I'm at least
excited about the debut weeks from now. If you're right,
I'll be the first guy to say, dude, you were right.
Nobody cares. I don't want. The thing is, I don't
want to be right. For tonight to be that way
(28:04):
is odd. Okay.
Speaker 1 (28:05):
I'm not trying to I'm not trying to ruin the party.
I'm not trying to have.
Speaker 2 (28:10):
So so for for you to say that that's going
to be the case in the future. Yeah, that might
be the case. I'm not trying to reign on the preed.
My thought was simple that in a month from now
when she listen, why do you think they had the
number one draft pick? Because they weren't a good team, right.
Speaker 3 (28:22):
I mean they're eight and a half point dogs tonight
in Connecticut. Yeah, so they are almost double digit other
dogsark lights it up. But what if she does in
Covino and she puts up fifteen points.
Speaker 2 (28:32):
Doesn't it's still the biggest story of the night. I
read what I'm saying. It's a successful night for her tonight.
Fifteen fifteen? What five rebounds? Fifteen five five? Rich? You gambled.
Speaker 4 (28:42):
There's a lot of money that Vegas has taken in
for her to be.
Speaker 2 (28:45):
The league game.
Speaker 4 (28:46):
You know, I'm gonna bet one hundred bucks on Connecticut tonight. No, No,
not tonight's game. Her being the League MVP. That means
at least those betters are going to pay attention to this.
Speaker 2 (28:54):
She has twenty points tonight because a rookie ever been
in the MVP? Think about that? I don't know.
Speaker 3 (28:58):
I think Candice Parker wasn't does eight. I could be wrong.
I have to check on that, but I think that's
the truth. So I was looking into it recently. So anyway,
my thought is, go Caitlyn Clark. I'm just surprised if
anyone cares. In a month, that's all the end CNR.
Speaker 2 (29:12):
On FSR Tuesday night, we got Pacers, Nicks, Timberwolves, Nuggets
all tied it to and of course the debut w
NBA debut of Kaitlyn Clark just set the DVR.
Speaker 1 (29:24):
I can't miss a second of it, honey, So I
just want to make sure my wife's DVR.
Speaker 2 (29:28):
In the fever game, you have to be you have
to acknowledge that. Well, you're not the only guy. If
you read social media, there's a guy who agrees with you.
Rich think you're all faking it a little bit. No,
it's not faking it. You're bored before it even starts.
I gotta have more cow Bell. So that's odd to me.
Speaker 1 (29:44):
Do you love her that much that you've never watched
a game in your life and all of a sudden
you're locked in.
Speaker 2 (29:48):
I'm excited to see the debut. I didn't say I
was buying a foam finger. I said I'm excited to
watch her first game the WNBA.
Speaker 1 (29:56):
James Benson, I'm actually gonna hit I'm gona James. I'm
gonna go buy you a phone finger right now. If
they do have a Kitlyn Clark foam finger, well, if
they do, you know where you could stick it.
Speaker 2 (30:06):
James says, I have absolutely no interest in watching the game.
I couldn't care less about the debut game. I wish
you're all the luck, but I don't care about anyone
forcing this game down my throat. Which is, by the way,
anytime someone uses forces it down their throat, they lose
the argument because no one's forcing anything down your throat.
(30:27):
It's the debut and Rich's board before it even starts.
That makes no sense to me. But you're not alone.
And how long will the buzz last? You decide? You
make the call. Speaking of basketball though, just a quick
quick story, because we have lots to get to. We
have check Diesel trivia. I know you want to talk
Aaron Rodgers. We got to talk about foul ball. There's
so much to get to, so little time. I heard
(30:48):
Ben Mallard, the Great Ben Mallor making some baba ganooshe
and doing what he does and he went on his
whole rant about Lebron James at the Cavaliers game last night, which,
by the way, Chloe Kardashian was also there to rud
on Tristan Thompson the first time he brought the first.
Speaker 4 (31:05):
Time she brought. The kiddos not surprised. Malor is a
big Lebron fan, so he talks about him a lot I.
Speaker 2 (31:10):
Could tell, and his whole stance, and again I'm giving
you the gist is that it was a big look
at me, cry for attention and against all ethics that
we normally see in the NBA. And I agree with
him he would I do. I don't, well, why was
he at a Cavalier's gate because this is hometown. How
(31:35):
often do you see things like that happen. I'm not
mad at him about it, but I do agree with
Ben Mallard. I'm not mad at all. He could do
what he wants. He's Lebron in a lot of ways.
He makes his own rules. But the one thing I
didn't hear Ben saying that clip, and he may have
said it on the actual show, but on the clip
I didn't hear it was to me, I feel like
(31:57):
he's putting it out there that if anyone's interested, I
have that option, and I want you to consider my son.
That's what I was sort of getting. That's the vibe
I picked up on, because isn't it coincidance that yesterday
was also the results of the NBA draft. Combine with
the measurements and everything, you're seeing all these highlights of
(32:19):
Bronni James with his vertical and his reach and his
shot and everything else. They're timing them, they're doing all
these measurements and he's looking NBA ready and he's looking
good and he's in shape, and all of a sudden,
Lebron's like, hey, Cleveland, what's up. Remember I'm just a
kid from Akron and I got a kid too. Now
you guys want some of this. You don't think he's
(32:40):
just throwing it out there as like a little mini
campaign to remind everybody that this could be a possibility.
I know danyg thinks he's in there with with the
Bus family, and that's in no way, But what.
Speaker 4 (32:51):
Why I said that in our pre show meeting, and
I told you I don't think he's on a campaign
trail for that, because Genie Buss and him are best
you know friends apparently.
Speaker 1 (33:02):
Remember on National Women's Day they were all, you know,
chopping it up and powing around.
Speaker 2 (33:09):
He wants to go with any son. He wants to
play with his son. He wants to make that happen
before he retires. That's his goal. Have the Lakers made
this clear to him that that's going to happen, because
I guarantee you the way they were loving, I'll say loving.
Ben Mallis said some other things. He talked about knee
pads and everything else. The way shocker I didn't hear
(33:29):
anything about shockers, but the way they were measuring the
way they were loving Lebron, it looks like they'd roll
out the red carpet and make anything possible for him.
So you don't think he was for the fun of it.
I think it was.
Speaker 4 (33:44):
Obviously he loves attention, so I get that. I think
that's why he was there, needing a team to sign
Browny and lure him there.
Speaker 2 (33:53):
No, he's a team, needing that team right and setting
signals out to other teams. I feel like.
Speaker 4 (33:59):
He's where he wants to be because he's earning a
boat ton of money right now in Southern California, that's
his ultimate goal is to own the majority of the
new NBA team in Las Vegas when it gets there.
So he's you know, yeah, he still wants to win,
but he's also he's got his eye on the money
right now. And he said recently that his priority is
(34:19):
no longer playing on the same court at the same
time as Browny. Whether that's true or not, he's expressed
that through clutch, Well, that's no longer his priority.
Speaker 2 (34:27):
It made me scratch my noggin. I'm not mad at
him for it, but it did seem a little odd
to me, that's all. Yeah, Timbi.
Speaker 7 (34:37):
You know, guys, last week here on Fox Sports Radio,
I stated that I think Lebron should retire because he
sucks so much air out of this league. Like it's
the only thing we talked about. That's exactly what happened
last night. I know there wasn't a lot of buzz
Celtics regained the edge to one in the previous game,
no Donovan Mitchell, but to make everything about him always,
(34:59):
and I do think that there was an ulterior motive
last night. He may want to ultimately stay with the Lakers,
but he also wants that love, that attention, from Cleveland,
and it is just.
Speaker 2 (35:10):
Or may he might want to just have the speculation
of well maybe he wants to retire a cavalier.
Speaker 7 (35:16):
Yeah, and it's again it's about him, which, by the way,
I've never felt was out of the realm of possibility.
Speaker 2 (35:23):
I mean, the.
Speaker 7 (35:25):
Sure, but I mean it it to me overshadowed what
the game was, especially once Donovan Mitchell was out.
Speaker 1 (35:33):
I looked at that and I said, Lebron, no matter
what he does, it's going to come across as looking peculiar,
wants attention. I thought it was did he have a
bottle of red?
Speaker 4 (35:44):
There were two things that were more cringe the full
bottle of wine just for him under his seat and
his wife's big American gangster fur coat.
Speaker 1 (35:51):
So I mean, you know, let it go unnoticeable, just
some observations, but it just made.
Speaker 2 (35:58):
Me say, hmmm, that's all.
Speaker 1 (36:00):
But you know what I think, because Lebron is a
quote lovable or hateable guy to many these things he
does will will make you feel some type of way.
You know, when Roger Clemens was at the end of
his career and he's like, yeah, I'm not traveling with
the team, I'll pitch when I want to pitch some
of these, like veteran future Hall of Famers have called
their shots in the past, but when Lebron does stuff
like that, it stands out more because of how he's received.
Speaker 2 (36:24):
Now, next question, and by the way, if you guys
want to chime in on that, you have your thoughts.
I do agree. Dan Byer said it best. Actually he
had alter your motives. I think is it just an
attention grab? I mean, a guy gets plenty of attention.
I think that might be a tiny part of it.
But I think he was sending out a message because
(36:44):
we don't often see that. Here's a question. What was
he doing? Was he Did he have other business in Ohio?
Not that I know, dude well, I mean just his
history and being from there.
Speaker 1 (36:57):
Yeah, but I'm saying, like, did he go there to
support someone in particular? Like I'm thinking back, I could
be wrong. You remember when the Phitleys were in the
World Series. Didn't some of Bryce Harper's former teammates that
were in the league we're sitting in like the front
row watching him, so other may have been.
Speaker 7 (37:12):
But I could give you a Lebron example. He was
at Game five of the twenty twenty one NBA Finals
when Chris Paul and the Sons were facing the Bucks.
Chris Paul and him friends, but also, hey, Lebron's here.
But that would be the connection of him going to
that game specifically, of I mean, it's an NBA Finals game.
I don't know how many other ones he went, but
you can say, oh, he's going to be there for
(37:32):
Chris Paul, who was his buddy at that time.
Speaker 2 (37:35):
I don't see any of that. Nobody on Boston.
Speaker 7 (37:38):
Maybe Tristan Thompson, but I that's a bit of a reach.
I just I think that his connection to that area
and his previous history is the reason.
Speaker 2 (37:48):
He was there. Oh, if you guys have any thoughts. Again,
We're always open eight seven to seven ninety nine on Fox,
the most inclusive interactive show on radio, according to US
Josh Rojas. Let's talk about this real quick because we
do have a Diesel trivia and I know you want
to talk Aaron Rodgers. Yeah, this guy.
Speaker 1 (38:04):
For you to talk about this guy instead of Aaron Rodgers,
this guy, that'd be awesome. Who's Who's this guy?
Speaker 2 (38:09):
It's pretty awesome. Let's hear about him. Who is it?
Brady Singer's pitching. Josh Rojass at the plate, Josh Rojass
hits a found ball into the stands. No big deal.
Right the very next pitch, Josh Rojas hits another found
ball into the stands, and the same guy caught it.
(38:31):
Insane back to back, exact same spot, exact same guy,
exact same swing, and the chances of that are happening
are point zero zero zero one percent, to be exact,
according to stat cast. Is that pretty amazing to you? Richard? Okay,
that's that's pretty cool. I'm bored. So hit pretty good too.
(38:53):
It wasn't like a pop up, Yeah yeah, it was
you know, down the U leftfield line.
Speaker 1 (39:00):
Yeah, that's what makes it a little more like if
it was a uh he couldn't get around on. It
was like a foul ball right around the dugout or
pop fly. Two spots. You know, this is pretty peculiar.
Speaker 2 (39:11):
Back to back pitches to the same exact fan, and
you know, even the broadcasters are like, what are the
chances of that? I just told you point zero zero
zero one percent, And it just brings up this question
to me. Here's this guy, he caught two foul balls.
What a weird moment. It's like lightning striking twice. Probably
(39:31):
less chance of this happening than lightning striking.
Speaker 1 (39:34):
You're probably almost mad that, like your cool coincidence in
your life was this. Yeah, I know, like instead of
winning the lottery, I caught two foul balls back to
back from Josh Rojas.
Speaker 2 (39:46):
Now he got some TV time out of it. That's
kind of cool. But I'm sitting here thinking, man, I've
been to a lot of games in my life. Since
I was a little pumpkin pie haircutted freak. Since I
had a little pumpkin pie haircut looking like tattoo from
Fantasy Avin I looked like Ernie Rayes Junior, and my
parents were taking me to the Yankee games, and I've
(40:07):
been going ever since. I've never come close to catching
a foul ball. Now, if I were to happen to
catch two in one game, maybe, just maybe I would
take one of those and give it to a kid.
But I promise you. You see, you thought Rich was
(40:28):
the villain because he hates Kaitlyn Clark. I don't hate
Kaitlyn Clark. Steve Camino is here to say that if
I caught a foul ball today, as a forty seven
year old adult. No kid is getting my foul ball.
I not giving it to a kid here. If I'm
gonn give it two kid, I'll give it to my
own kid. If I caught two, I still might not
give it to a kid. I might give it to
a kid and my family. That little nose picker could
(40:50):
wait his whole life the same way I did to
get his own foul ball.
Speaker 4 (40:54):
Even if there was an adorable little kid like Daniel
rud I promise you I love kids, and I'm very
confident in saying I'd smile at him, give him a
thumbs up, I maybe even buy him ice cream.
Speaker 2 (41:04):
But he's not getting the foul ball. You're insane, not happening.
Maybe if I caught two, and that's still maybe. If
I caught one, not a chance, you might as well
give him a middle finger. I'll go, I'm giving him
a foam finger. I am not giving any nose picking
kid my foul ball as a grown man, ever, no way,
no how, I'm sorry, not hapen're a weird guy. So
(41:24):
it just made me think that Josh Rojas again to
two foul balls to the same kid, and I'm like, well,
maybe I would in that case, but that would be
the only way. All right, I'll back you up on
one thing and one thing only, and the rest of
what you're saying is horse crap. I got ends of
my family that come before some strange little kid. I
don't know.
Speaker 1 (41:44):
Well, first of all, I've been to a ton of
games in my life, and I'm not trying to one
up you, but we got season tickets for the Mets
when we worked at SNY and Kevino's not a Mets fan,
I am, so I took advantage of that and I
went to free homestand for a couple of years, and
we had good seats like field level.
Speaker 2 (42:04):
Cavino's right.
Speaker 1 (42:05):
I never caught a foul ball in my life, not
like maybe five, like a couple rows away from me.
Speaker 2 (42:11):
You It's it is odd, like, how can you.
Speaker 1 (42:13):
Go to that many games never catch a foul ball
and this guy gets two in a row.
Speaker 2 (42:16):
Yeah, Zach Campbell's never even done this. But when I
tell you.
Speaker 1 (42:19):
That again, I probably there was a stretch where I
was going to maybe maybe like forty games a year
and field level seats foul ball territory, so and still
like it.
Speaker 2 (42:30):
Just imagine getting two. Yeah, back pitch, I'll back you up.
Spot out, I go what spot got one. It's like
a weird moment, like the gods chose you so great,
and God's never chosen. And in your mind you think
I'm gonna give that away once they do, and.
Speaker 1 (42:43):
In your mind you want to you want to assess
some type of like, and like athleticism has anything to
do with it.
Speaker 2 (42:49):
It's really just luck. Like does a ball come to
you or not? Nope? Okay, that's number one. Number two.
If I caught a ball, to me, the thrill of
that moment is catching the ball.
Speaker 1 (43:03):
The ball itself is meaningless. Hey kid, take the ball.
It's not you have two kids of your own. You
don't want to bring that home for your own nose.
Speaker 2 (43:09):
Picking the kids a baseball signed by anyone. That's the difference.
Sign that I waited my whole life. I waited my
whole life for that moment. You think I'm gonna give
it away? Not a shape, dude.
Speaker 1 (43:19):
If I caught a foul ball and Mookie Bets hit it,
and all of a sudden he's like, hey, hey guy,
throw them the ball. I'll sign it. That's one thing.
But if it just a major League baseball that I
have to catch. Uh, I still want that rolled under
a seat. I'm not saying anything special with it, but
I'm taking it home with me. Right ricocheted off someone's
hat and I caught it. I'm keeping that moment alive
so to show everybody at my house, got little dad
got I'm gonna make a little kid in that stadium happy.
(43:41):
Hey kid, Hey, in years of baseball, you're doing it
for you. You're not even doing it for that kid. No,
you're doing it for that. So people sports and they're like.
Speaker 11 (43:50):
Ah, what a guy.
Speaker 2 (43:51):
But he gave it to the kid. What a guy?
Speaker 1 (43:53):
I ask yourself this question, Bozo, You know what I
would do? Remember when Faris Peeler caught.
Speaker 2 (43:57):
His ball and he's like cheering in the crowd. I'd
hold it up in your No kids getting this.
Speaker 1 (44:03):
Listen as my wife and I are doing a little
spring cleaning, we're purging the house like it is. We're
getting rid of like kids, toys and clothes. You realize
things don't fit them, they haven't played with this in years.
You realize how much junk you have. What do you
need an unsigned baseball for? In that moment, you're like, Yo,
I'm the man I caught it. If there's a kid
in the road.
Speaker 2 (44:22):
Like, hey, here you go kid, Yeah, if I had
caught one previously, If I have lived my life and
I already had a home run or caught a foul ball, yeah,
I've already lived after roll. Here you go kid, spot,
what do you think? Give me a chance? Give me
a spot? What do you think give me?
Speaker 1 (44:36):
This fourteen year old daughter would say. If he's like Milo,
doy caught you a volt ball, You're like, Grant.
Speaker 2 (44:41):
Don't matter to give it to my nephew. I don't care.
Then what at all? What would he do with it?
Will he do it? He'd be stoked. Yo, this is
from a real major league game.
Speaker 4 (44:51):
Dude, you're well Cove would share it with his family. Rich,
you would make new family. Bob from Kansas just called up.
He's driving for work, so he couldn't stay on hold,
but he wanted to let you guys know. He said
he heard that the Lebron James family they were there
in Cleveland to celebrate Mother's Day. Because both their families are.
Speaker 2 (45:11):
There, it seemed to me they were celebrating Lebron. But
it makes sense. Well as far as as far as
your foul ball. And he's said to tell you guys,
he loves the show. Thank you, although I don't know
about anymore because uh Rich, you are the heel an
hour one and now Covino's that heel an hour or two.
I would take a turn. So by the way, you know,
there's the jerk to respond to the caller and thank
(45:33):
you very much, appreciate you. The fans were like, calm back, Lebron,
you gotta resolve Quel, Like, don't tell me that wasn't
part of it.
Speaker 1 (45:42):
He did bring them their one moment of glory in
that city, right, yeah, remind me of all the glorious
moments for the Indians party.
Speaker 2 (45:49):
And you know, Calves don't downplay the possibility of wanting
to end his career where it all started.
Speaker 1 (45:57):
Now he lives out here. Jeanie Buss and him are buds. They'll,
you know, they'll figure it out. But you know what,

a tie, we have a tiebreaker question. Your name is
your buzzer, but you do have to wait until all
three possible answers are red. If there's two wrong answers
in a row, we move on to the next question.
Are you ready?
Speaker 2 (49:04):
Let's go? Let's get it home? All right?
Speaker 11 (49:06):

We move on to round two and Rich on the board.
Speaker 11 (49:41):
All right. In what year was the NBA founder of
A nineteen thirty nine, B nineteen forty six or C
nineteen forty nine.
Speaker 2 (49:51):
Nate, Oh, Nate.
Speaker 5 (49:54):
Nineteen forty six.
Speaker 2 (49:57):
Yes, man, boom.
Speaker 11 (50:00):
That's my god, you just founded in New York on
June sixth, nineteen forty six.
Speaker 4 (50:05):
Correct, nice one, Nate. All right, So Rich and Nate
have scored. As we go to round three, what.
Speaker 11 (50:12):
Chance the do Atlanta Hawks have in the NBA Draft
lottery before landing the top pick over the weekend?
Speaker 4 (50:17):
A three percent eight be fined away for a three
or eight percent late Nate, Nate, Nate for the win.
Speaker 8 (50:26):
Whatever three percent Nate wins?
Speaker 5 (50:31):
A bam.
Speaker 4 (50:37):
Yesterday we had a Tyson winner. It's a day we
have a Shack winner.
Speaker 2 (50:40):
Maybe he's a bookie down there, and look at that.
Thank you, congratulations, Nate.
Speaker 4 (50:45):
Hang on the line, but get your info so we
can mail you one of these beautiful cups.
Speaker 11 (50:49):
Okay, awright, guys, there work to do. But before I go,
shine and sharp to sniff my foot. Okay's perfect.
Speaker 4 (50:56):
See you next week, see you next letter, letter, next two,
He'll be back.
Speaker 2 (51:00):
Perfect, Thank you, little NBA trivia story of my life, buddy, wow,
let me uh you'll later, big man. When we start
by saying, great to see shack get wow. You know
what Kn'tley Clark? What is the over under in Vegas
on her points tonight?
Speaker 1 (51:15):
Let's look at up and I say it over twenty man,
Now he said over twenty but uh spot, if you
could look up DraftKings, see if there's a.
Speaker 2 (51:22):
I got it, you got it for it?
Speaker 7 (51:23):
Yeah, bet online says twenty and a half points. Okay,
rebounds four and a half, assists six and a half,
three pointers, three and a half.
Speaker 2 (51:34):
Nice. Hey, by the way, can I congratulate Nate too?
By the way, that's most impressive would yet, So congrats
to Nate. You know it's funny.
Speaker 1 (51:41):
It was also the one he jumped on was a
great answer because I actually knew that too. That because
three percent. That was a pretty impressive draw by the Hawks.
Speaker 2 (51:50):
Huh, very impressive they were. They were far back.
Speaker 7 (51:53):
And also, let's be real, the real winner in this
is Danny g because he did just don't have to
write more questions. It's gonna used three of them, right Danandy,
secretly when the game ends early, because then you could
just you're right, you know they were the other ones
the next.
Speaker 2 (52:07):
Week, Yeah, I have three that weren't used. That is true.
That's how it works, and.
Speaker 4 (52:15):
That rarely, that rarely happens. Last week we went to
overtime in both games.
Speaker 2 (52:20):
Danny she hated every second. That just meant more questions.
He had to come up with.
Speaker 12 (52:23):
Oh, he goes home and he's like, boo, I got
to do more questions overtime and today. So I gotta work, man,
I gotta prepare more chef pipe down over there in
your in your crib. So I got some research to do.
Speaker 2 (52:40):
So let me u.
Speaker 1 (52:41):
Let me ask you, Hays a dumb question that we'll
get to. My thoughts on Aaron Rodgers having to relaunch
essentially against the forty niners, that that's a storyline there.
But the dumb quick question, what fast food sauce do
you save to use on other items? And I asked
this because when I tell you, I just had my
(53:02):
wife last night made chicken and made chicken caesadias for
the kids, and like everyone's kids, they don't eat it
and they end up having nuggets and mac and cheese. Anyway,
so I brought some leftover chicken and made myself a
little casada.
Speaker 2 (53:14):
I hoard Taco Bell hot sauce.
Speaker 4 (53:18):
Yes, good job. Yeah, that mild sauce is good. And
then number two has to be Chick fil A's original sauce.
Speaker 2 (53:24):
Oh yeah, I was gonna say, no chickil A sauce,
no chick face, no chick lay sauce. You love Chick
fil a sauce?
Speaker 4 (53:30):
Yeah, because when they say how many, you're like ten,
because I'm because I'm gonna put six of these in.
Speaker 2 (53:35):
The drawer at home.
Speaker 1 (53:36):
But good sauce to me, I think I will. I
will put the Taco Bell hot sauce on like a
variety of stuff.
Speaker 7 (53:44):
I don't do a sauce, but when I go to wingstop,
I say, can I get a little extra seasoning because
they're fries? So what they put on their fries? Yeah,
so they put that on other stuff.
Speaker 3 (53:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (53:55):
Yeah, it's like the similar to the Red Robin chice listening.
Speaker 1 (53:59):
Yeah, wow, so you have to I'll throw that out
there if you want to chime in at Covin and
Rich on Instagram and Twitter X.
Speaker 2 (54:06):
But yeah, is there.
Speaker 1 (54:07):
A sauce or a topping or a condiment from a
fast food place that that you really It's a good question.
Speaker 2 (54:14):
Think about it a little bit because I don't have
a favorite.
Speaker 1 (54:16):
Anymore because when I go to Taco Bell, I'm always like,
yo can throw like ten or twenty in there.
Speaker 2 (54:20):
And honestly, these little hot sauces are clutch.
Speaker 3 (54:23):
I put them on other breakfast burritos from Yes, I
do the same sauce almost more.
Speaker 7 (54:28):
And more in the grocery store, more companies are transitioning
to especially like wing places, like you know there're sauce
and but the Chick fil A sauce is now in
grocery stores and there's somewhere I'm like, I don't know
if that company should have gone that far. I don't
know how like crazy good that sort of condiment is.
Speaker 1 (54:44):
But I see with with Dan saying, and Dan, you
will not you will catch me if you see me
buying Chick fil A sauce from the supermarket. It's not me,
it's a clone. Kill it because I will on top,
I will never buy a sauce that I feel like
I could hoard over time sure, like I don't use
it a lot, but did everyone's parents have random soy
(55:05):
sauce packets in their fridge for like a decade.
Speaker 2 (55:07):
Those are super clutch. My grandma always had jelly packets
in her purse because she was stealing from all the
diners and given to us the streets. Everyone's smuckers. I'm
assumer that kind of have jelly packet of jelly packet sugar.
She'd always have. Your grandma would give you a tortilla
with a jelly packet, are you?
Speaker 7 (55:26):
Are you talking about the square plastic one right, because
some of them now are just in the just like the.
Speaker 1 (55:32):
Hot McDonald McDonald's one in the kitchen. McDonald's has uh
their strawberry jelly. I think that would like a like
a ketchup looking pocket. But yeah, I think those those
are the ones.
Speaker 4 (55:42):
So my mom would always snatch the blue equal packets
off the table.
Speaker 2 (55:47):
At restaurants and put them in her purse.
Speaker 1 (55:49):
Well, my dad has, and I think that's a weird
move because my my dad's like the opposite of a
cheap guy. He will take the little McDonald creamers for
his coffee. I'm like, Dad, you could buy at the store,
but my dad and his fridge has a monstros zipp
bag of like.
Speaker 2 (56:04):
Twenty like McDonald's pretty Prima Fall Superiod, all the little
Cremo packets. But I don't know.
Speaker 1 (56:10):
I think everyone's got their own dumb thing. Let's go
to Dan Bayer for an update.
Speaker 7 (56:15):
Hey me, all right, guys, tons to get to you
guys have been talking about throughout the show.
Speaker 2 (56:20):
WNBA season begins tonight.
Speaker 7 (56:22):
The Fever are in Connecticut to face the Sun in
Caitlin Clark's debut The Golden State Valcrease.
Speaker 2 (56:31):
Yes, they released.
Speaker 7 (56:32):
Their nickname today, the WNBA franchise that will be playing
in the Bay Area starting in twenty twenty five.
Speaker 2 (56:40):
Quick reminder on tomorrow's show, it's already Wednesday, mid Week,
major your biggest headlines in the world of sports and
pop culture, and if Danny G's in a good mood,
maybe more giveaways. But the other major reminder is that
this Friday will be in Eugene, Oregon, and we hope
to see not only our long time list and friends
(57:01):
from our Patreon and series six m Days, but a
lot of new Fox Sports Radio listeners. Real excited to
get out there and meet you guys. So Eugene, Oregon
Graduate Hotels this Friday live broadcast and we're going to
be hanging and then the following weekend in Tempe, Arizona.
That's May twenty four, So real excited about that. To
answer your question, what do I like to steal the
(57:24):
most from fast food restaurant? Let's gilling. You're let thess
that's there for the for the take it. They used
to call me the condiment King, and I don't really
get that much fast food anymore. And when I do
use souse, yeah, I use like sugar free sauce. I
want to shout out my guy, G Hughes. You know
w G.
Speaker 1 (57:41):
Hughes is, Oh he's a cool black on the bottle
of sugar free barbecue sauce.
Speaker 2 (57:45):
That's my guy. When I see his face, I'm like,
I need that. He's the sugar free like barbecue sauce guy.
G Hughes. And I gotta say I'm a bitchin sauce
kind of guy. If you go to Costco, you might
know the bitchin sauce. Yeah, of course. But to answer
your question, when I'm most likely to steal, because that's
what it is, I always take a lot of crushed
pepper packets. I know that's not the question you asked.
(58:08):
What I always take extra crushed pepper from if they
have it. I'm like, yeah, get it at twelve and
I the person who uses those all the time. Pasta
on my pizza on you put crushed pepper on a
regularly grad pepper Yeah, on everything. But I'm like a
New York slice of good pizza. Hell yeah, yes?
Speaker 1 (58:25):
What do you the fact that I was Sam agree
with you and he's Iowa, Hey, I know my credibility.
Speaker 2 (58:32):
No, what do you think you are? Dave? Dude?
Speaker 1 (58:35):
I don't like you. Gotta start doing pizza reviews. What
do you guys think? One bite?
Speaker 2 (58:39):
Everyone knows the rules.
Speaker 1 (58:40):
By the way, Portnoy bet twenty five grand on your
girl Kaitlyn Clark.
Speaker 2 (58:45):
And he's a big Clark fan. He is so uh
you know Ridge Davis.
Speaker 1 (58:49):
I'm well, let me just say this, who does have
the gray sauce noo Taco Bell?
Speaker 2 (58:55):
That's your stand? Yeah.
Speaker 1 (58:56):
My stance on that dumb question that I came up
with was the Taco Bell hot sauce is so universally used.
Speaker 2 (59:02):
I was Sam and I both agree that you could
put it on like chicken breast. So I'm gonna take
your word here because I'm a little old school and
I grew up when royd Rogers was a fast food joint,
and I used to say that their sweet and sour
sauce was my favorite. So now I no longer have
expertise in this area.
Speaker 1 (59:18):
If you could take a sauce from a fast food
place and use it for other things like I was,
Sam's right, I'll have a my wife will make like
scrambled eggs and bake, and I'll make a little breakfast
sandwich or a breakfast burrito at home, and I'll put
some Taco bell hot.
Speaker 2 (59:29):
Sauce on that. Hell yeah, next time I'll have to
steal some.
Speaker 1 (59:32):
Our buddy Robin san Antonio, what's uf san Antonio? He
hit us up and he goes guys Chick fil a
Buffalo sauce. He hoards and uses it for like recipes
at home. You know, I do get those something.
Speaker 5 (59:43):
You know what.
Speaker 2 (59:43):
That's a good answer, because I keep those because you
could use them for anything. My family Polynesian.
Speaker 4 (59:48):
Yeah, they take the Polynesian and the buffalo and they
mix them to those two together.
Speaker 2 (59:52):
Oh good idea.
Speaker 1 (59:56):
Well, we only got a couple of minutes left, but
I think I could squeeze in this Rogers thought. And
it has to do with you know what, did he
take four snaps last year for the Jets?
Speaker 2 (01:00:06):
Is that right? Was it? Four? Including his achilles?
Speaker 1 (01:00:10):
So four snaps. I'm not saying you don't start a game,
one of course you do. But my question is, how
do you feel about being thrown to the Wolves versus
a soft launch like Cavino? If the Yankees have a
killer prospect in the miners, right, let's say it's like
pitching prospect that of the caliber of schemes on Pirates
(01:00:32):
on the Pirates. If you have a top notch prospect
Danny g do you want to call him up when
you guys are playing the Rockies or when you're playing
the Braves. I always feel like, just for confidence reasons,
you want to have that prospect start off at home,
maybe against a bad team soft launch.
Speaker 2 (01:00:53):
Like yeah, yeah, like a soft launch.
Speaker 1 (01:00:54):
I wouldn't want to be like, oh, your first game
ever in the bigs, Yeah it's at Yankee Stadium, Go byeuck.
So I get it. You can't choose who you playing
in the NFL. That's only seventeen games, and Aaron Rodgers
is a Hall of Famer. But do you think Aaron
Rodgers wants to start this campaign in San Francisco Game one?
Speaker 2 (01:01:15):
A guy like him is not the best situation. But
I don't think he thinks twice about him He has
any such a competitor who's been there and done that.
I don't even think he's thinking that way. But I
do feel what you're saying.
Speaker 1 (01:01:25):
He hasn't thrown for three hundred yards since Get This
Week thirteen in twenty twenty one, and last year the
forty nine Ers only gave up three hundred yards to
two passers Kirk Cousins and a loss with a forty
nine Ers lost to the Vikings and in the Super
Bowl in overtime against Mahomes. So I just think that
(01:01:47):
it's just a bad, new fresh launch for Aaron Rodgers.
It's like, all right, take two, we're starting in San Francisco. So,
I mean, I don't want to sound like a cocky
Niners fan, but I feel like that's like zero to
one for Aaron Rodgers out.
Speaker 2 (01:01:58):
The gate seems that way.
Speaker 1 (01:02:00):
Yeah, But in other sports, do you want your player
to launch against a weaker opponent for confidence. I think
it matters if it's a young player or not. That's
the factor for me. Maybe we'll touch on this more tomorrow.
Have a great night, enjoy your Caitlin Clark, your NBA playoffs.
Speaker 2 (01:02:13):
Arriba there you maybe are you in the promise
