so nice to us and everything. We got our Graduate
Hotels hats. I get inside and I use something in
the room that I haven't used in like five to
ten years.

if you don't know, we're talking to the story of
the day. It's a story of the day because Angel
Reese tweeted its head. She tweeted some stuff she did.
But let's start out in the beginning. And by the way,
I was Sam is a huge Kaitlyn Clark fan, so
much so that he skipped this trip. No joke because

he had a prior engagement. That's the thing too. It
was a prior commitment that he made. But did he

this all started with Lebron on his podcast with JJ
Reddick and Lebron said, Yo, he was dropping f bombs.

he said, don't get it twisted. Kaitlyn Clark is the
reason a lot of good things are going to happen
in the WNBA.

maybe I deserve this charter. So she goes to social
media and says after a win, and that's on getting

Not just because of one player on our charter flight
little kissy face, hashtag Skytown and a lot of people
are saying that was a diss at Caitlyn Clark. It
can also be just a shot at the media too,
because the media sort of creates this narrative that it's
all about Caitlyn Clark when there's a lot of young stars.

But I will argue that we only know a lot
of these young.

Stars because of Caitlyn Clark, So not that they're not good,
and they might even be better and surpass her and
become more of a household name in the future, but
right now, it's all about her and they should be
thankful and grateful.

Well, I'm thinking anyone that's ever been and listen, it's
a ridiculous comparison, but anyone that really was important to
the game they played, whether it was Jackie Robinson breaking
the color barrier in baseball. If you're if you're influential
in your sport, whether it's racial, women's sports versus men, anything,
you got to take the heat So if people have
said it's too much for Caitlin Clark, how that's ridiculous.

She should welcome this. The feuds are good, the rivalries
are good. It will get you interested. Otherwise, I promise you,
no one will care. I said this a week ago.
I said mid June or July. If the Indiana fever
are like three and fifteen because they're bad, are you
gonna really care?

Yeah, because she's still the target. She's still the main
person that people care about. That's why Angel Reese is

I'm pretty good too, and there's other really talented players

people love drama, great taste in men? Why did you

I think there was a lot of ego involved there.
He didn't want to be second fiddle to Lebron for
obvious reasons. In my mind, he's like what Lebron. I'm
he felt as good as Lebron. I think he's coming
from a different perspective where he doesn't feel like he's
competing with Luca. You know what I mean, Like he's
not competing against Luca, he's competing with Luca.

I mean, Listen, they want a Championship together him and
Lebron and you know, he's a series away from getting
to the finals with with.

You know, Luke and Kyrie. I look, but he even

It's just a different level of leadership that he's willing
to take on now where he knows his place and
he's staying in his lane and it's working better for
him in the team, and he's able to see that
now when you know in the past he wasn't. Because
you grow, you grow wiser, and you get a little older.
And I think that's where he's at now and it's
working for him.

remember when that happened, We're like, this could go very
good or very bad. And I said this with Jalen

you know, dump on terrible moves, but when a team
or an organization makes a good one, we don't highlight
him enough.

I think the Knicks of Brunson was a huge move
which was at the you know, unfortunate for the Mavericks
giving up bruns and but this is a big one
for them.

The other day on the show, we were talking about
how important chemistry is on teams and giving things time
to gel and that hadn't happened in Dallas between Kyrie
and Luca, and everybody jumped the gun and was like,
this is not going to work. What a bad idea
giving him that contract. And now that they've had some
time to learn how to play together, and I think
the biggest difference between playing with Lebron. Remember back then,

Kyrie said he didn't like feeling like Lebron's little brother.

He didn't want to be a little brother.

Luca and Kyrie, even though Kyrie's older, you can't really
tell who's older and who's younger. They don't seem they
just seem like brothers, but you don't know who's older.

feel like Angel Reese's beef is with how the media
is treating Caitlyn Clark.

Yeah, but you were kind of jealous about it. You
were like, why is he getting all this attention? You
were the head coach of the Pink Sparkles.

I was six other girls softball champions, and Rich got
no press releases about that.

But like, think about it, if when when do you
get random friends hitting you up? He knows they mentioned
you on Dan Patrick today or back at our series
sex MP days. You know they were busting you your
chops today on Opie and Anthony or Howard. People like drama.
So I'm sold on this now more than ever, that
this needs to be embraced. It needs to be embraced.
Why do you watch stupid reality television with your girlfriend?

Why did your girlfriend watch vander Pump Because she has
bad taste and TV shows? Okay that and because great
people love drama, great taste in men? Why did you
men watch WWE wrestling? It's a soap opera for the dude,
I promise you.

As of right now, the media is creating this drama
for ratings, for content. There is no drama. I don't
think there is. We've heard Angel Re say, look, I
got no people herd this is great. Her beef is
with the attention that other women aren't getting.

That's the problem. You know.

I see where she's coming from, you know, and I
think you guys have to see past that. And and
don't buy into the hype. Don't buy into the headline.
You know, she sneaked this and she deleted the tweet
because it was about It wasn't about Kaitlyn Clark. It
was about, Hey, media, what do you have to say
about this? We want tonight and you're still talking about
Kaitlyn Clark.

That's a fair that's a fair substract, which is good
because Kaitlyn hasn't won yet.

And that's on getting a win and a packed arena,
not just because of one player on our charter Light Skytown.
That's saying, media, why don't you cover this right?

You know what I most listened to show would be
if at the end of the show I slammed down
my headphones.

each other on ESPN, You're like, I've seen this for

we didn't totally change our opinion on but there was
a moment where Kyrie was Danny G.

Like his value had, you know, perception wise went down

I think the Brooklyn Nets era era was not good

about flat earth and stuff like that.

own reputation.

Yeah, people thought he was strange. Some people called him
toxic in locker room. Yes, we don't know how much
of that was true.

He was getting a lot of bad press, and now
we're seeing I think it's just a simple.

Story of evolution and humility.

You know, I think again when you look back, Richard,
he said it, it's kind of wild. This is from
social media hoops mix only. It's wild how Kyrie didn't
want to play second fiddle to Lebron, but it's perfectly
fine doing it for Luca.

What do you think about that?

I think there was a lot of ego involved there.
He didn't want to be second fiddle to Lebron for
obvious reasons. In my mind, he's like what Lebron. I'm
he felt as good as Lebron. I think he's coming
from a different perspective where he doesn't feel like he's
competing with Luca. You know what I mean, Like he's
not competing against Luca, he's competing with Luca.
Speaker 4 (35:08):
That's what I meant.
Speaker 3 (35:09):
I mean, Listen, they want a Championship together him and
Lebron and you know, he's a series away from getting
to the finals with with.
Speaker 1 (35:17):
You know, Luke and Kyrie. I look, but he even
said it.
Speaker 2 (35:20):
It's just a different level of leadership that he's willing
to take on now where he knows his place and
he's staying in his lane and it's working better for
him in the team, and he's able to see that
now when you know in the past he wasn't. Because
you grow, you grow wiser, and you get a little older.
And I think that's where he's at now and it's
working for him.

Do you think that was.

Discussed with Mark Cuban and Mavericks management and ownership, because
remember when that happened, We're like, this could go very
good or very bad. And I said this with Jalen
Brunson and the Knicks. We're very quick to want to,
you know, dump on terrible moves, but when a team
or an organization makes a good one, we don't highlight
him enough.

We're just like, yeah, yeah, a good move. Pal.

I think the Knicks of Brunson was a huge move
which was at the you know, unfortunate for the Mavericks
giving up bruns and but this is a big one
for them.

The other day on the show, we were talking about
how important chemistry is on teams and giving things time
to gel and that hadn't happened in Dallas between Kyrie
and Luca, and everybody jumped the gun and was like,
this is not going to work. What a bad idea
giving him that contract. And now that they've had some
time to learn how to play together, and I think
the biggest difference between playing with Lebron. Remember back then,
(36:28):
Kyrie said he didn't like feeling like Lebron's little brother.
Speaker 4 (36:31):
He didn't want to be a little brother.
Speaker 6 (36:33):
Luca and Kyrie, even though Kyrie's older, you can't really
tell who's older and who's younger. They don't seem they
just seem like brothers, but you don't know who's older.

Kyrie still playing great.

He was our player of the week on our show
and he he had thirty points the last game.
Speaker 1 (36:47):
Luca had thirty three points. So again he said that
he's also.

In a different mindset of commitment to elevating his teammates,
to making Luca a better player, where it wasn't that
really wasn't the case when he played in Cleveland.
Speaker 3 (37:02):
Well, one of the things though they want. One of
the things we do a lot on our shows. We
compare sports to relationships, right, And I'm seeing a lot
of people here. By the way, did someone win the
puzzle challenge? He congratulations?
Speaker 1 (37:14):
Frozen together? How do you feel very good about it?
Speaker 3 (37:17):
You went a swiky And by the way, I see
a lot of people show boy their beautiful wives and girlfriends.
And I will say this, First of all, I'm very
impressed you guys a good job. Everyone's got a really
good looking wife and girlfriend.

Secondly, I can tell you this by the way, I
keep your wife and girlfriend away from rich he's drinking.

Only after a few drinks. Keep them aware.

No, But my thought is this, there are things that
you do in a relationship for some people that you
wouldn't do for someone else. If you're in love, you'll
do things for someone that you wouldn't do for someone
you weren't in love with. Think about the think think
about the sacrifice and opportunities and things you'll do for
someone you love.
Speaker 1 (37:50):
And that's that's the lebron Luca. I don't think that.

I don't know.

I don't think that if they didn't get along or anything.
It's just that he's in a different place mentally.
