every day on the iHeartRadio app by searching FSR. The
greatest baseball player of these eyes have ever seen, now
(00:25):
I really started. Not a streatting, it's not a stretch.
Soto is a five tool player, for sure. He's incredible
and I've known this, but day in, day out, whole
different story. When you see someone every day and what
they bring to the table, it's just way different man,
and he's incredible to watch. The Yankees had an incredible weekend.
I was pumped about it, so we have lots to
(00:46):
get to.
Speaker 1 (00:47):
I always feel that way about players that get big
contracts and I don't understand it. My first thought is, yeah,
I just don't watch him day in and day out,
so I don't get it.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
Your second thought has to be, well, clearly they're worth it,
or else they're they wouldn't be getting paid that much.
You know, the experts have done the math, and then
those guys you think are really good and you're like, oh,
they got him on the cheap, and you're like, or
do I not realize day to day they're not as effective.
They have to be effective. They have to be able
to put asses in the seats. And I've never seen
(01:16):
a more perfect fit for the New York Yankees. Moving forward,
He's getting paid next year. This dude's on fire Man.
So anyway, hope you had a Soto Aaron Judge sort
of weekend. He had a great homecoming. One of my
dumb Mets fans friends, yeah, said well, maybe next year
will get Sodo, Steve Cohen will break out the bank,
And I go, it doesn't matter if you're Wan Sodo, right,
(01:40):
and you have two choices. And this hurts me to say,
as a Mets fan, if you could stay in the
Bronx where your team's gonna win one hundred games again,
like you're thriving, You're thriving, you're fitting in. You got
that Dominican support as well, right, you got a lot
of fans cheering you on. You know the Yankees are
going to pay.
Speaker 1 (01:57):
How much more would you really need to be paid
to go across town to the awful Mets, like, you'd
have to be so greedy for the dollar that a
couple mill swayed you. But at that stage of the game,
when you're making what he'll probably get, what four hundred
mil or something, would it be worth it for him
to leave a team where he has a fit and
he's not a legendary contender like the Yankees. And I
(02:19):
hate to say that as a Mets fan, but Wan
Soto's going nowhere.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
It's been fun to watch as a guy who was
sort of indifferent on getting this guy because I've seen
the Yankees get so many star players who didn't produce,
and this guy is just amazing to watch. He's in
his zone. You could say that I told you, and
Rich did tell you that. I said, not excited about
this guy because I never saw him day to day
National League guy. So I watched him more. And I'm like,
Cano because you were so like, oh right, Soto, I'm like, bro,
(02:45):
you're gonna love this guy. Want Soto, Danny. You watch
him play against you in the NLST. He's such a
pain in the ass to play against and if he
was on your team, you'd love him.
Speaker 3 (02:53):
Yeah, he really is. And I looked it up right now,
he has earned around fifty two million dollars in his
MLB career so far, so you'd be you'd need to
be kind of cash strapped to want to sign with
the Mets.
Speaker 4 (03:04):
Yah.
Speaker 1 (03:05):
I mean, I hate to say it as a Mets fan,
but you're right. If you were offered twenty or fifty
million dollars more to go to the Mets, you might
even bulk at that and say no, the Yankees will
pay him three four hundred million or whatever, or the
Dodgers or someone else.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
You're not going to the Mets. He's not going to
the Mets. Attitude is contagious and it's just great to see,
even if you're not a Yankees fan. Guys, it really
is the mix of Judge and Soto make them so
likable even to the Yankee hater. But speaking of your Mets,
I do want to make this point before we dive
into this Travis Kelcey story and other nonsense. I thought
it was awesome to see Darryl Strawberry get his flowers
(03:40):
this weekend at City Field in front of fifty thousand
plus Mets fans, because that dude said all the right
things and nothing exemplifies to me that championship team more
than Darryl Strawberry and of course Dwight Gooden, who was
honored as well this year. But it's nice to see
that they're doing that. Yeah, well, I mean it's the
only thing there disguising a crap season with some cool
(04:03):
still highlights of y eighties. He had some of his
former Yankee teammates there and his Mets teammates there, and
he apologized to the Mets fan that to me was
the one they take away. Yep, I'm sorry I ever
left you, guys. And I've never seen an athlete vocalize
it in such a big moment where we assume they
feel that way. That's the first time I ever heard
that ever, Like you don't think Robinson Cano deep down
(04:26):
inside is like, man, when I went to the Mariners
and left the Yankees, my career went downhill. I wish
I'd never loved.
Speaker 3 (04:31):
You.
Speaker 2 (04:31):
Probably feel that way about women. Strawberry feels that way
about the Mets. Hey, you might have had a good
woman in your life and you left her because you
thought the grass was greener. And you're like, man, I
didn't realize what I had, but you never you never
really apologized. That was always someone that left your team.
And if you want to think of those guys that
you know, regret it like a guy that left your
(04:52):
team for free agency, I say, is a number one answer?
Like number one, top three at least answer? I mean,
no offense to our friends.
Speaker 1 (04:59):
And but when he went from All Star looked like
future Hall of Famer playing second base for the Yankees,
signs that big deal. Jay Z helped him along, got
that big deal to go to Seattle. I remember thinking
he went from top five star of the league to obscurity.
I don't remember what the deal was with Jacoby Yilsbury
(05:19):
because I try to forget it. But there was a
guy that was prospering in Boston only to be injured
and forgotten when he ended up in New York. You know,
so many players have prospered somewhere else and then did
nothing as they moved on. And remember how great Chasin
Bay was for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Oh yeah, big time
he was again, he found a home, he was in
(05:41):
his zone. You have to factor those things in, and
that goes back to Wan Soto. He's playing so well
in New York and I understand people are going to
throw more money at him, but is it really worth it.
When you're thriving and.
Speaker 2 (05:53):
You found a home, you have to factor that in too,
and you're being embraced, you're producing, So Strawberry. He apologized
over the weekend forever leaving the Mets in the first place,
because it was a rocky road ever since with the Dodgers,
and he didn't he did about the Yankees. You know,
he ended up winning, but the Dodgers was never really
the same after that for multiple reasons. But again, some
(06:17):
good hockey, some good fights, some good baseball over the weekend.
And I will say this before we get into Kelsey.
I don't know if you guys watched the early fight,
but Deontay Wilder has to retire moving forward. It was
an honor to watch this guy fight. He did the
most he could with his abilities. He won a bronze medal,
the bronze Bomber. He had so many legendary heavyweight fights
(06:39):
with Tyson Fury, but I think those took everything out
of him. He got knocked out in the fifth round
by Zang excellent Seong as they call him. Not to
make an analogy, but you know, how sometimes a pitcher
gives his all in like a playoff game, and you're like, wow,
they're never the same after that because they pushed it
too far. I'll like a Matt Harvey, Johan Santana. Yeah,
(07:00):
no hitter, no hitter. There's certain guys that push it,
and then they were the same. I think you're right.
Speaker 1 (07:05):
The trilogy against Tyson Fury took a little something out
of the heart and.
Speaker 2 (07:09):
Sould Deontay Wilder. He was forty and oh, let me
repeat that, forty and oh, with like forty knockouts, and
since then his knockout percentage was as high as it gets.
I forget how many exactly. Since then, he's three and
four and he's lost four of his last seven fights,
And it just seems like that Deontay Wilder unstoppable right
(07:31):
hand just does non exist. And zang At weigh him
by jang outweighed him by seventy pounds, but still Deontay
didn't have that instinct to pull the trigger and unload
and never had that opportunity and again, protect yourself at
all times. He got caught sleeping knocked out. Sad to see,
but that's that's everything. It's like a weird analogy. But
(07:53):
I heard Pat say, Jack, who was wrapping up his career,
this is a week, this is the last week? He said, Look,
could I continue his daughter's hot By the way, did
you see his daughter gave a little tour of the
set of Uh, I'd like to buy a valve? She's
with him? What he said that when I wanted to
be relax, I wanted to be I can I purchase
(08:15):
an eye? Please? Now you'd have to buy an O?
I see you. Anyway, he did say, can I continue
hosting the show?
Speaker 5 (08:25):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (08:25):
Probably I probably can't, but I want to go out
on my own terms, you know, and feel good about
what I did. That's what every great athlete wants to do.
And unfortunately Deontay Wander is gonna have to walk away.
I think he's done, but a great career. Hard to watch.
Knocked out and then poor yer. UFC three oh two,
there was lots of celebrity cameos rich at UFC this weekend.
(08:46):
Did you see uh? Donald Trump getting like the craziest
ovation And then right behind him was comedian Theo vonn
just pumping his fists. Donald Trump crowd listen, that's his crowd.
Speaker 1 (08:57):
If there's a if there's a Donald Trump crowd that
place where Berzerko like it was like stone Colder hulkom
in he was entering the arena, came out.
Speaker 2 (09:05):
To like, yeah, he should have you see your boy?
Aaron Rodgers dis him. No, but Danny shook his hand
after he did after afterwards, because you know what's funny,
have you not said the same the same thing, Danny,
I didn't see because I was watching it live and
I noticed that I didn't see that. Later on followed
up exactly, Danny fake news.
Speaker 1 (09:22):
No, but Aaron Rodgers the story was he dissed Donald Trump,
and then Aaron Rodgers on his own Instagram story said
met mister president and there's a picture of them shaking hands.
So if that was ever his crowd, you could probably
name multiple crowds where Donald Trump would walk into and
he be booed. But that is a that is his
arena pun intended, you know.
Speaker 2 (09:41):
Geez well, we said Deantony Wallader probably going to retire
after this, at least I think he should dustin Poorier
after a really competitive loss, said that it might be
his last. He said, Joe, I might be done. Fight
for what I fought over fifty times. Unless it's a
meaningful title fight or some sort of high paying Jake
Paul and McGregor fight, why would he do it at
(10:03):
this point? So again props to him because he really
showed up and fought well. But Macatchev with the win
UFC three h two plus Sean Strickland went a really
nice win, a split decision, but he whooped Costa's ass.
And mind you were saying it was not as close
to some great fights over the weekend. Hope you enjoyed it.
And now tonight you get to relax because nothing really
going on tonight, at least for me too. My Yankees
(10:25):
are off. I mean, there's no basketball till Thursday. I'm
not tuning in unless Caitlin Clark's on. So what am
I gonna do tonight? You know what? You could watch out?
What I watch last night? Someone recommended a documentary and
it's not new, it's not something that's just released, but
it's about a year ago. Danny g Did you ever
watch the Reading Rainbow Butterfly in the Sky documentary about
(10:48):
LeVar Burton. I've heard about it, I have not seen it.
It'll make you you and Brenda watch out you'll shed
a tear and be like, Yo, LeVar Burton is the man.
He's always been the missed. So if you want to
reminisce on a Monday night when there's nothing much going on,
reading rainbow documentaries on Netflix, you know, and I'll be
watching porn on X what Yeah, on X's official now
they're allowed to Yeah. Okay, that's a whole other news alert.
(11:10):
We might get to you later on. But aside from
all the fighting and the basketball and the fighting in
the w NBA what who you know, we do have
other things to get to And one of those things
has to do with what does Kelsey and rich Davis
have in common? Jason Kelsey had a wise admission and
I'll explain in a second, But we were talking about
(11:32):
players that were never the same. I just want to
ask Danny and we forget. Is there a Dodger that
comes to mind, because we we we named a lot
of East Coast players. Is there a guy that came
to the Dodgers and you're like, this guy's a shell
of what I thought he was, or a guy that
left your team and was never the same, because right now,
a guy that looks like he's not the same Blake
Snell's Yeah, I know, I know, I know, hurt, But
(11:53):
I mean we're talking about a guy that looked lights
out for Tampa and San Diego. He was one of
the only true aces in Major League Baseball. And if
you're a Giants fan, you can't be pleased with the
zero to three start and a nine ERA. That's not
what you paid all that money for. No, and he
got hurt this weekend as well.
Speaker 3 (12:10):
Yeah, well he's a role player, but we were all
excited when Key k Hernandez came back to the Dodge
and he just he's still on the roster, but he's
he's made contact with the ball, but he's so unlucky
he cannot buy a hit.
Speaker 2 (12:24):
That's part of it. Yeah, you gotta have luck on
your side to break these slumps. But it happens a
lot with big star, big name players. Man, I've seen
it so many times. That's why the Soto story is refreshing.
You know, you have all these high expectations and to
exceed those expectations is is rare to see and honestly,
such a joy to watch. It really is. Now, Jason Kelsey,
(12:48):
let's talk about him. Let's talk about him?
Speaker 1 (12:51):
Is he the better Kelsey? Some say, ask your wife tonight,
which Kelsey she would rather? You think more women would
say Jason or Travis.
Speaker 2 (13:00):
I think they'd marry Jason, but get with Travis, have
relations with Travis. Is that the generic female answer on
the board. I mean, that's my answer. They'd rather cuddle
with the center.
Speaker 1 (13:12):
No one wants you, don't. You don't want to be
the one that women want to cuddle with. Yeah, I'd
have a crazy night with Travis, but I'd cut it
with Jason.
Speaker 2 (13:21):
Jason's like, really awesome. What's some Damn?
Speaker 6 (13:24):
I'm a Covino guy, the same thing to you know,
I'd also would like to, you know, would rather cuddle
with Jason Kelsey.
Speaker 2 (13:30):
I'm a Coveno guy. You know, we're on the same
page here. He's winning the eyebrow game too, Jason has
the better eyebrows. Oh, he's winning there. I never know
Jason Kelsey.
Speaker 1 (13:41):
He looks he looks more like uh, he looks more
like Yukon Cornelius than our buddy. Spot does the guy
from the Rudolph the Rendos right to her cartoon? Like?
Speaker 2 (13:53):
Yes, total side note? Spot, who does our videos here?
The producer of our Patreon Cavino and Rich Spot was
Yukon Cornelius a la Jason Kelcey. That's basically what he
looked like, Jason Kelcey Yukon Cornelius for Halloween. And you
know they featured you in some like Halloween article.
Speaker 7 (14:11):
Recently, I made it to the front page of Reddit,
which he you know that that's a huge honor. So yeah,
I'm like in every article where it's like dudes with
beards and costumes.
Speaker 2 (14:20):
Just over the weekend I saw it and I'm like,
what Spot is like the stock photo. So if you
thought that was Jason Kelcey dressed as Yukon Cornelius, it
was actually Spot look it up. But anyway, Jason Kelcey
is in the news and has to do with something
gross that he does actually or it doesn't do well.
This all started on Twitter. His podcast, he talks about
(14:44):
how it's unnecessary to wash your feet. Take a list
into the podcast clip.
Speaker 8 (14:49):
You really don't need shampoo or body wash to wash
your body because soap is not necessary. Everybody knows just
going there in rinsauce, I haven't used soap on my arms, legs,
feet in years and I'm as healthy as an ox.
The only things I soap on a routine basis.
Speaker 2 (15:06):
Are the hotspots.
Speaker 3 (15:07):
That's hero.
Speaker 8 (15:08):
Well, everybody knows what they are. It's the back end,
the front end, and they are pits.
Speaker 2 (15:12):
That's it. Those are the hotspots. I'm sorry, what about
your cheetos? Those aren't the hotspots. There's three hotspots. His
feet are not a hotspot, the pits, the wabos and
the bum bump. My mom calls a PTA, but can't
say it on the air. Oh PTA, Let's say you
can guess what is Mama, Mama, Iowa, Samson, Patsy, teacher tez.
(15:36):
So it's very important here. He is Jason Kelsey saying
he doesn't wash his feet, and that's where the debate
started on social media. Let me explain too that I've
been doing a show with Rich for twenty years now,
and I know this goonberger, and this guy has admitted
many times that he doesn't scrub the cheetos. He doesn't
scrub the feet a because he's lazy and he can't
(15:57):
bend down that far. And he says that the SuDS
from his shampoo, the SuDS get them clean, so he
just dances in the SuDS. You're you're taking what I
said out of context a bit. It's not it's almost exactly.
Speaker 1 (16:11):
Because I've said and hear me out because this is fact.
What I'm about to say is factual information that can't
really be debated. People are fools because there are multiple
types of showers. I wrote him down here just so
there's no confusion. Shower number one.
Speaker 3 (16:27):
Here we go.
Speaker 2 (16:28):
This is the quick rinse before sexy time. This is
the oh I'm gonna get some.
Speaker 1 (16:33):
Tonight, let me go in do a quick little as
Kelsey said, the hot zones, hot spots, front back, pits, PTA.
Speaker 2 (16:42):
I'm still trying to figure out PT. I guess Sam,
when you said he had a PTA meeting to go to,
that's what you meant. I thought you were volunteering your time.
My mom said that I go to a PTA meeting.
I'm still trying to figure it out. Yeah, I'll figure that.
The break Torso.
Speaker 3 (16:56):
The first.
Speaker 2 (16:59):
The first two yes, yes, yes, yes, so think of
the p think of a woman, Yes, she got clean.
I mean, anyway, Kelsey, good job, Dan key Is. Here's
what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (17:18):
There's the post shower after sports of the gym, which
again is a more of a rinse off, quick little
SuDS up. And then there's the what I call they
get clean shower, which is what you actually scrub your
whole body. But I think that if you shower in
the morning and give yourself a legit shower, I think
if you go to the gym or if you're about
(17:39):
to have sexy time. I don't think every shower requires
foot scrubs.
Speaker 2 (17:44):
I'm sorry. When you're a big galut who weighs two
hundred and eighty two, which really means three hundred pounds
Jason Kelcey after a football game, you gotta scrub those
bad boys down. And that's more than just soap and SuDS.
You gotta get, as my mom says, as saktde, I
need a zagade. Those are those hard cardboard like sponges.
(18:04):
You know I'm talking about that. I feel like sandpaper.
My mom always has parents had that in their shower,
like those las. Yeah, you gotta scrub those down. Otherwise,
what are you doing. You're not getting clean if you're
not scrubbing yourself. He's not right, he's wrong. If you
really want to be clean, you need a shower rag
of sorts do you need you need a shower towel?
(18:26):
Do you need something a wash rag? Do you think?
Speaker 1 (18:29):
And this is the hard hitting question we post here.
And you're the feet like Kelsey, I would not take
the advice.
Speaker 2 (18:34):
The hard hitting by the way, beautiful wife, successful, great dad,
great role model, great guy, terrible feet.
Speaker 1 (18:42):
This is the hard hitting stuff we get to on KVN.
Rich Does every shower require a foot scrub? And I'm
gonna say absolutely not.
Speaker 2 (18:50):
How lazy could you be? You're in a shower, you
just it's gonna take you an extra three seconds. You're
so busy.
Speaker 7 (18:55):
You lean on the wall, you lift one foot, you
scrub it, you put it, you rinse it off, put
it down. Yeah, take that much every other foot scrub it,
put it down, dude, And you're good if I'm taking
to rinse at first so it's not soapy.
Speaker 1 (19:07):
I took what you call like I said, a get
clean shower this morning. Now I'm going to the gym
after the show before I get clean shower. Before every
shower should be a get clean shower. Why are you
showering if you're not getting clean?
Speaker 9 (19:19):
Non?
Speaker 2 (19:19):
No, hold on, After the show today, I'm gonna go
to the gym across the street before I get in
my bed tonight, in my bed sheets and I'm before
I'm lay next to my wife clean with just soap.
I will scrub your body, but you know what, tonight,
my feet will be fine splashing around in the shampoo
and soap remnants that drip to the little splash equivalent
(19:40):
of I do a little splashy splashy with defeet. You're
basically saying, I don't need to get my car washed
it rained today. Meanwhile, this guy's walking around barefoot on
his patio where his dog's going to the bathroom all
the time. Rain rich clean his feet, and rain does
not clean your car.
Speaker 7 (19:55):
Does not get the dirt off your car, just like
you know, it gets like the heavy stuff off, but
like it's still dirty.
Speaker 2 (20:00):
So Hey, we're gonna talk Caitlyn Clark. We're going to
talk cosmic baseball if we have time.
Speaker 10 (20:07):

Speaker 11 (20:41):
We've all been through some sort of adversity to get
to the top.
Speaker 3 (20:44):
We've all used different tools.
Speaker 11 (20:46):
Listen to Unbreakable with Jay Glazer and Mental Wealth podcast
on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get podcasts.
Speaker 2 (21:01):
If you're just dancing around the SuDS or just wiping
SuDS on your body with your bar of soap or
your body wash in your hand, you're not cleaning anything.
I don't beieve I have to explain this to grown adults.
You need a wash rag, or a zacat or a sponge,
one of those poofy things that women use, a loofa.
You need something to scrub your body, one of those
(21:21):
axe ones they make, those real masculine axe ones, you know,
the scrubby side.
Speaker 3 (21:26):
Do it with my scratchy hands, No.
Speaker 2 (21:28):
Dude, you just run with the calluses. He's no.
Speaker 3 (21:32):
Yeah, you take the excess shampoo off your hair and
then scrub your feet with that.
Speaker 2 (21:37):
So for as much as I like Jason, we established
that why your feet smell like coconut any I don't
even want to know what Jason smell like. You know,
play the clip one more time. I always Sam if
you don't mind. Jason Kelsey on his podcast.
Speaker 8 (21:49):
You really don't need shampoo or body wash to wash
your body because soap is not necessary.
Speaker 3 (21:54):
Everybody knows.
Speaker 8 (21:56):
Just going there and Brin sauce, I haven't used soap
on my arms, lay feet in years, and I'm as
healthy as an ox. The only things I soap on
a routine basis.
Speaker 2 (22:07):
Are the hotspots.
Speaker 3 (22:08):
That's hero.
Speaker 8 (22:08):
Well, everybody knows what they are. It's the back end,
the front end, and they are pits, that's it.
Speaker 2 (22:13):
Those are the hot zones. And on his pta in
the iOS Samuel Family, I figured it out. So but
it is there is something to be said about most
of your showers really just need the hot zones. So
you're how about if you're in the shower, you might
as well complete the tank what I bought a lazy
guide device a couple of years ago and I still
don't use it. Whatever it is, I'm not surprised because
you sound lazy as hell.
Speaker 1 (22:33):
Keep in mind, I'm not some like fat slug that
can't bend down. But I bought one of those infomercial
items where you scrub your foot on it. It's like, uh,
it has.
Speaker 3 (22:43):
Such a say that thing that slips your shoe on
for you.
Speaker 2 (22:47):
Those Why don't you get one of those putting on
your sock devices too? Well, how you're at it, wash yourself,
don't be a slop. All right, Well, anyway, thank you
guys for hearing us out. I think Kelsey's wrong. We
have other hard hit things to get. Yeah. By the way,
did you know, uh, moving on, do you know there's
a reason I do all types of fighting in the
off season because I'm prepared to f somebody up. Oh
(23:08):
all right, Tommy Fam is this guy that like badass
or blow hard? I can't tell. I usually feel like
I get a vibe because he was a met and
I was like, here's the thing. I like Tommy Fam,
but I liked what he had to say. Again, the
White Sox Brewers got into a little bit of a tiff,
a little bit of a melee over the weekend. He
was thrown out at the play and Willie Contreras was
(23:30):
barking real loud. He's the catcher for the Brewers that
tagged him out. Tommy Fam said that he'll never start
it like he didn't start it, but he will finish
it and that's why he fights in the off season.
But seems like a tough guy. Like, why are you
rolling your eyes to Tommy Fam. Do you remember Tommy
fan Terris barking loud in the first place. I don't know,
because he tagged him out the plate in a close game.
So hey, then you got back it up. You're thinking
(23:52):
of what he did to Jock Peters. You remember he
walked into centerfield.
Speaker 1 (23:55):
I don't like that, and he snapped Jock Peterson over
a fantasy football debate.
Speaker 2 (24:00):
Yeah, that's hard to defend, but this particular incident Peterson starts.
But I like jo Jock Shock's a nice guy, you know.
I think there can you be both? Can I say
that Tommy Fam is tough but also a little eye
rolly with his toughness, Like, give you to say, who's
a tough MLB player?
Speaker 1 (24:19):
I would say Tommy FAM's on the top of that list.
Gary Sheffield former tough guy.
Speaker 2 (24:24):
I think, yeah, but don't you think he's a little
eye rolly, like yo, I'm prepared to f somebody up.
Come on, get That's what he said over the weekends, saying,
in case you missed it, if you were having a
swim or having a cookout, or you were just busy shopping.
Women love to shop, women be shopping. If you were shopping,
then you may have missed Tommy fam in the news. Now, Rich,
(24:47):
I don't know if you want to go from Kelsey
to Taylor Swift.
Speaker 1 (24:51):
Well, you could get this out of the way and
we could go to Dan Buyer for an update. I
just want to throw this out there ahead. There's a
couple of pictures where people are speculating, Oh, it's tail
to have pregnant, and I just want to remind people
that's the number one I think on the board. If
we were playing Family Feud and Steve Harvey and his
bigest mustache came out of here, the number one answer
on the board of what is the number one unintentional
(25:13):
insult you could give someone is oh, you're pregnant when
you're not.
Speaker 2 (25:18):
I got a few few examples. People need to shut
up and understand what they're saying. Sometimes think about that
and we'll discuss plus Caitlin Clark and Moore. But first
dB Well, Stan Byer and.
Speaker 6 (25:32):
Guy's a story that's developing a Major League Baseball we
could have a lifetime ban on our hands. Wall Street
Journal says that Padres infielder Tucapita Marcano is facing a
lifetime ban from Major League Baseball for betting on the
Pirates last year when he was with the team on
the injured list.
Speaker 3 (25:48):
He's currently with the San Diego Padres.
Speaker 1 (25:50):
Hey, Dan, the two things from your update Number one,
justin Jefferson getting that money, do you think he's gonna
want to catch passes from j McCarthy right out the gate?
Or you think he's pushing for the veteran Sam Darnold.
What do you think that's gonna shake out?
Speaker 6 (26:06):
I think if you had your brothers, you would want
JJ McCarthy to win the job, you know, like, you know, yeah,
just just to have it out of the gate. I
just don't think that that's probably the case.
Speaker 1 (26:15):
And you know, I gambling is an addiction for some.
Isn't it fascinating when a guy who is at that
level still decides to sacrifice at all on a silly
like in game bet.
Speaker 6 (26:25):
Sure, you know, and guys, I don't know what you
think about this, but the whole thing with Pete Rose
was the well, the only bet on the Reds to win.
And then we would say, well, what about the days
that you didn't bet on him? Then did you think
that they were going to lose or that they were
compromised or you know, maybe you know, would have made
certain situations. I'm sure people will say, well what about
the him being on the injured list?
Speaker 3 (26:45):
Why would that matter?
Speaker 6 (26:47):
But still it's the point of the inside information and
it's the integrity now of betting throat that's basically throughout
this entire country that I now think plays even more
of a role to make you know, all those you
know where that has you know, states that allow betting, Yeah,
there's got to be some integrity to it, and this
would fly in the face of that.
Speaker 1 (27:06):
I think there's something very you know in the culture
of like young guys like hanging out, placing a bed
here and there. I think some of these guys get
pulled into it and don't realize they're sacrificing so much
over like, you know, what are you gonna wait a
couple thousand dollars, a couple hundred dollars. Meanwhile, here you
are gonna get banned from the big leagues like cheez.
Speaker 2 (27:22):
And I think the MLB will make example out of
this story since their hands tied with the show. Hey, won,
you're like, now we think it's serious. You're man, not
so much, are you?
Speaker 6 (27:33):
Marcano and the Hall of Fame debates in ten years,
I'm Cavino and rich Should he be in the Hall
of Fame?
Speaker 3 (27:39):
Whereus just kidding them?
Speaker 2 (27:40):
Yeah? Speaking of Hall of Fame, I thought you were
going to bring up Dallas Cowboys Hall of Famer Larry Allen,
who died at fifty two on vacation in Mexico. I'm
guessing no details, right, No.
Speaker 3 (27:51):
No, I did sag in the update in passing, but yeah,
just unexpectedly. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (27:55):
I just imagine having the time of your life on
a family vacation and then it goes south like that.
Now and he's only fifty two years old. Man, Hey,
thoughts and press family.
Speaker 3 (28:07):
That stinks his career with the Niners. That's a couple
of seasons with them.
Speaker 2 (28:10):
Yeah, well, thank you d me for the update now
real quick. Other than oh my god, are you pregnant
when the woman's not? Whatever you assume. Ever, we saw
what happened to it. Yeah, we witnessed it at Serious
XM years ago.
Speaker 1 (28:24):
Yeah, we saw a woman Danny g say to another woman,
oh my god, congrats, what do you do? And she said,
and I'm only repeating this, this is not my words.
She goes, I'm not pregnant, I'm just fat, all right.
And I was like Cavino and I were like the
Homer Simpson clip where he backs into like a bush.
Speaker 2 (28:43):
We want to get the hell out of there. So
other than saying are you pregnant when you're not? What
is a bigger insult? Not bigger than that. But when
people say, hey, you look tired, it's like, why don't
you shut up? No one asks you what is that about?
People and my family say that to me. Sometimes I'm like, yeah, yeah,
and do you want me to tell you anything about you?
It's not a nice thing to tell somebody, you know.
(29:05):
Yet people say like, oh you look a little tired,
little tired. It's like, all right, you got ain'tything else
you want to share? Anything else you want to share
with us? Amazing, Larry, It's like, what else, why would
you even say that your last brain sell it work?
Speaker 1 (29:17):
I got one. I got one based on a story
about last week. When someone insinuate you can't afford something.
Remember he bought all those sports cars because he said
the dealer was like, can you even afford these? I
think that is one of those insulting things like that.
But he makes you feel poor, a pretty woman, big
mistake some of those things.
Speaker 2 (29:38):
Yeah, you keep to yourself, can't afford it? Are you pregnant?
And again there's no like malicious intent behind these things.
That's the thing, but it comes across like, yo, why
don't you shut up? It is insulting. It really is.
Speaker 3 (29:52):
When they ask you at a restaurant if you're there
for the Senior Citizens.
Speaker 2 (29:55):
Special Yeah, yeah, I'll take sold us.
Speaker 1 (30:01):
So, hey, anyone, anything you want to add to that,
you can hit us up at Covin and Rich. I'm
gonna stand by my thought of weeks ago.
Speaker 2 (30:10):
Bullied, taken advantage of, you know, the taking the hits
that go along with being the young star of the game.
These are all good things.
Speaker 1 (30:18):
And I'll tell you why because we're talking about it, well,
every day you're talking about the WNBA and Kitlin Clark
is a good thing for the WNBA in Kitlin Clark.
Speaker 2 (30:27):
As I discussed with Iowa Sam over the weekend, if
it's the drama and the WWE antics that pull people in,
then you're right, it's all great. It's all gravy. But
there's a few ways to look at the plays over
the weekend. Kennedy Carter with the chief shot body check,
hip check. It's like the meme goes it really is.
(30:49):
I saw this meme of Caitlyn Clark is Nancy Carrigan
and the WNBA is basically Tanya Harding, and that is
how I see it. But she's what the duble UNBA
has been waiting for all these years, So who cares
how it's packaged? Is counterproductive to be hating on this
girl in this way because I think it's a little
bit more than you know, let's give it to the rookie.
(31:13):
It's not that there's some hatred and envy and jealousy
behind all of this. And Big Mike, who runs his place, yes,
I agree with him as well. He was quick to
shut me down. You know, he never runs his place.
Big Michael was quick to shut me down because I said,
is this a case of because not to be stereotypical,
but you have been hearing people say, is it a
(31:33):
case of women just being rough on other women where
maybe men aren't as mean to other men? And he's like, no, no, no,
that's not that's not at all. That's depict I don't
believe that. He said men do it too. It's just
labeled as competitive. So I do see it as counterproductive
and torn on how to react when you see it happening,
(31:55):
you expect that. I do agree, like, hey, men do it.
We just label it different. You know, it's it's men
being competitive. Oh man, did you see what happened? And
we get excited about it. With the women, we're still
processing and trying to figure out as we all jump
on the w NBA and the story, like how do
we feel about it? And you just got to look
at it as competitive? Is it dirty? Is a fair noe?
(32:16):
But those things happen in the NBA as well, And
whether or not you see it as just competitive or
caddy behavior or jealousy, it's counterproductive no matter how you
view it, because she's trying to uplift the w NBA
and they're trying to tear it down.
Speaker 3 (32:31):
As DP pointed out on our morning show today, she
dishes it out too. She's not innocent in all of it.
But what's caddy to me are the postgame antics from
the other w NBA players. Just say, you know, we're
playing hard both ways?
Speaker 2 (32:47):
How about this? They refuse to even address it. That's cheap, right,
Angel reeson Kennedy Carter. They both got fined and the
fact that they're saying, what else does she bring to
the to the game aside from a three point shot?
Does need that much more? Steph Curry changed the NBA
with a three point shot, So I don't know. I
think she is getting some unfair treatment. This is all
(33:08):
great for the w It's all great. It's all great.
Speaker 1 (33:11):
Because otherwise who would care at this stage of the game,
who to say Kennedy.
Speaker 2 (33:16):
Ken Now you're confuse me, Charlie y Yeah, no, clue,
I'm playing. Carter was for being of a bully.
Speaker 1 (33:24):
This is no disrespect, So I don't want to come
across that way. But I never heard that name of
my life until this incident, which means thought it was chili, cheese, chinnity.
Speaker 2 (33:31):
Which means it's good for the w n B. A
play her clip after the game, but Kennedy good for her.
Speaker 5 (33:37):
Carter I answered clark questions, she said, I don't know
what she said.
Speaker 2 (33:42):
What you say, by the way, and she didn't just
body check her. She body checked her when the ball
isn't even in play, the ball is still in bounds.
Angel resupplauded it. We saw that. But she also called
her the B word, and your boy Pat McAfee referred
to her as the white B. He's getting a lot
of criticism for it, but hey, he's just referring to
(34:04):
her the way everyone else is speaking about her in
the WNBA.
Speaker 6 (34:07):
I also like how she said I'm not answering any
questions and immediately answers a question about Caitlin immediately.
Speaker 2 (34:13):
It isn't uglyan look, even though you want to label
as competitive because men do it too, it's still not
a good look. It's weird, right because there's a sense
of it that feels like there's a lot of jealousy.
There is, and it's evidence, I mean, just because now
they have charter planes in this that we're supposed to
all kiss her butt now. So it's probably probably everyone's
torn between yeah, because they should be grateful that someone's
(34:35):
bringing this much attention to the league, or else the
league wouldn't exist. If we're talking about it, it's good
for the WNBA. So if a hip check here and
there gets some press and it causes some drama and
we're discussing it, it's all good for the WNBA. But
it is coming from a place of jealousy and envy,
(34:55):
and it's never a good look. Never a good look,
but jealousy and envy you could standing because these women
have worked their asses off, their professional women basketball players,
and they're thinking, now we got attention because of her.
So I get there.
Speaker 1 (35:11):
No, but there's a releasement there and a jealousy, and
maybe it's being acted out in a little check here
and there, a little push here, there, a little trash talking.
But again on the flip, I said, do you expect
everyone to roll out the red carpet to be like.
Speaker 2 (35:24):
Thank you, Caitlin, are savior. We're not worthy. Yeah, but
even her own teammates rich, even her own teammates weren't
there at her defense. How do you feel about that check?
That was weird? How do you feel about that?
Speaker 1 (35:35):
Iowa Samuel, that no one on the Indiana Fever jumped
to her defense. That's like weak ass teammates.
Speaker 2 (35:40):
No, yeah, they got a little wake up call there
for real, but you know, they did have a nice
win over the weekend. Then she stunk it up the
next game. Maybe she needs to call Tommy fam for
some advice. Maybe maybe you know, she spoke about being
checked before we get to the phone calls. She spoke
about it at the end of the game. If you
want to take a look, yeah, that's just.
Speaker 12 (36:01):
Not a basketball play, but you know, I gotta play
through it. That's what basketball is about at this level.
So I thought we've been really fast. Of all, we've
missed some buddies around the rim, and so hopefully let's
fall in the forth. But really proud of our defense.
I thought we played great defense so far.
Speaker 2 (36:12):
And she had more after the game. If you want
to take a list, it is what it is, you know.
Speaker 12 (36:16):
I feel like I'm just at the point where you
accept it and don't retaliate, like, you know, just let
him hit you be what it is. Don't want to
get inside your head and know it's coming. I think
at this point, like I know, I'm going to take
a couple of hard shots a game, and that's what
it is. Just stay in the game and saying what's portant.
Speaker 2 (36:33):
That's where I disagree though, as Marvelous Marvin Hagler said,
never let him see a sweat. I agree with that.
That's why. That's why the pit's one of the area
you have to clean. Yeah, the hotspot, the hotspots got
to wear your right guard. Remember your dad would use
that can of its coughing around My dad and he
put his theodor on. Anyway, theoda anymore, I don't even
(36:56):
think they sell it anymore.
Speaker 3 (36:57):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (36:58):
But you got to retaliate, and eventually you have to retaliate.
So that's where I disagree with her.
Speaker 1 (37:05):
His dad had the right guard in one in front
of one mirror and the and the other mirror. His
mom had the aquin that hairspray. There's a lot of
so I do disagree with that. I disagree with not retaliate.
Somebody needs to retaliate or else they're gona.
Speaker 2 (37:22):
Keep doing it. She needs a goon, Yeah, she needs
he's a sorcer.
Speaker 3 (37:26):
She needs me the meme I sent you, Dreana Green, Yeah,
that's my guy.
Speaker 2 (37:31):
Heavens he made that one. She needs the female Draymond
Green to step up, showing William Scott the goon. So anyway,
let's take your phone calls on Caitlin Clark. I do
like Mike's take to Mike who runs his place where
he said, men do this all the time and we
deem it competitive. True, but it is counter productive for
(37:55):
what she's bringing to w NBA, which is what they
always need, and that's eyes and interest. And you're right,
there's a lot of there's a lot of torn feelings, right,
like should other players be thankful, but they're also gonna
be jealous, maybe a little resentful, maybe a combination of
all those things equals just a lot of confusion, right
(38:17):
because you know you're not gonna be going kissing this
girl's ass. And again there's players that are like, yeah, her,
she's the one. I think the world's a little confused.
Think of any industry with all this, Think of any industry,
Danny g If some new hotshot comes in and they're
the ones that's changing the game, it's gonna be hit
with resistance.
Speaker 3 (38:32):
Yeah, the take I love the best over the weekend,
and I saw this from several different people. You're not
allowed to talk about the WNBA, Cavino or Rich because
you never watched until this point.
Speaker 2 (38:44):
I see that as well, and I roll my eyes
and it's like, well, she's giving us reason to watch
and to care. That's the whole point. You know, no
one else has done that yet. There's been other greats,
but we didn't care about them.
Speaker 3 (38:56):
Yeah, and for all the people who rented and raved
about they need to make more money more like the men.
Well obviously it's simple math. They need to earn more
revenue and TV contracts to get more money into the
player's pockets. And this is what starts that.
Speaker 2 (39:10):
And like I said, who cares how was packaged? Who
cares who it is? At that point? This is your
time to shine, all right? So and you know what
the best way to shine is to be her ultimate
competitor and playing tough, not playing dirty. So your thoughts
on it. To wrap it up, because we have other
things to get to. But it was one of the
biggest stories of the weekend. I'm not being contrarian because
(39:33):
I really, well, there's somebody I'd be lying if I
said I had an incredibly strong opinion on this. But
much like let's say some young hotshot Let's say, remember
when Bryce Harper entered the league and he had all
the eye black on and he was like, remember, young,
young Bryce Harper was I was playing for a kiss.
Speaker 3 (39:49):
Yeah it looked like Aiden Hutchinson.
Speaker 10 (39:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (39:51):
Wait, when there's some young hot shot, you might take
a little extra shot on that quarterback or give Bryce
Harper a little chin music. Sometimes from some young hot
chot player enters any league. Connor Berdard in the NHL,
there's a young player, what if people do? Sometimes it's
a little like, all right, youngster, gonna check you a
little bit, little initiation. And again I'm not saying it's right,
(40:14):
but that's how I'm feeling about it. The same way
you might you might hit a Bryce Young a little
harder in the pocket than you would a veteran. I
think that's what you're seeing with Kitlin Clark veterans being
like yo, okay, shoes changing the game bam little.
Speaker 2 (40:29):
You know, Dan Bayer, you had a great way to
put over the weekend. It wasn't listening to Dan Byer's
weekend time. He's got the best takes on Fox Sports dB.
It wasn't hazing. It was something else. You called it
something else. Yeah, And it was Carrie Rhodes who came
up with the term right of passage. That's what it was. Hey, go,
that's what rich is describing right there. It's more of
(40:51):
a right of passage. And I get that, but I
will tell you this as far as strong stance. The
more and more I see these cheap shots, and the
more and more I see people gunning out after her.
You could say it's jealous, you could say it's just competition.
It makes me root for her and more intrigued as
a result, It really does. It makes me want to
see her put it in everybody's face, dude. It makes
(41:13):
me more of a face face. Yeah. The more I
see that, and the more I see people bad mouthing
her and backlash and saying they don't want to talk
about her and they're out to get her and they're
doing this stuff and she's applauding that, dude, the more
I'm behind Caitlin Clark, and I went from not caring
at all to being like, come on, now I'm rooting
for and I'm hitting up iosam over the weekend, like dude,
(41:34):
because I'm now I'm getting more passionate. Now I'm team
Caitlyn Clark where I wasn't before. So eight seven seven
ninety nine, O Fox, your thoughts on it? Let's wrap
it up. Actually, all the phones are lit. You know what.
People love talking about it. They're so lit. Danny, what
do you want to start? You want to start with
Lie one and work our way down.
Speaker 3 (41:53):
Yeah, let's start with Johnny and Pennsylvania.
Speaker 2 (41:55):
Johnny and Pa covin on Rich what's up, Johnny?
Speaker 13 (41:58):
Hey? I want to say about it is Caitlin Clark thing.
I don't think everybody would understand how vicious women can
be on women. I mean it's downright a female thing.
Where you're talking, I'd never seen it except in the workplace,
and it's I mean, most married guys would know, most
(42:18):
people who are in long term relationships his downright female
evil on female evil.
Speaker 2 (42:24):
Okay, but John, you.
Speaker 13 (42:25):
See people, you see people whose females applauding. All right,
but hold on actually gets knocked out.
Speaker 2 (42:31):
Food for thought based on what Mike is saying. Okay,
our buddy Mike who runs this place. We saw Tommy
Fam and Willie Contrerass going at it this weekend, and
Tommy fam is saying, yeah, that's why I fight on
the off season, so I get f people up and
we're like, yeah, competitive, it really is so, but I
understand what you're saying too. Women could be vicious, you
(42:53):
know how. We know because we're men and we've dealt
with it on the other side.
Speaker 1 (42:56):
And it's not sexist to say, you know, a mom,
a wife, a girlfriend, a daughter. It's just food for
women and men are cut from a different cloth. And
I'll give you the analogy. You've seen people say that, uh,
we're not used to seeing it. A guy sees his
buddy with a great wife and be like, man, I
really want a woman like that. They'll say women will
(43:17):
see their girlfriend with a great guy and be like,
I want that guy.
Speaker 2 (43:21):
That's a Chris Rock. That's a Chris Rock. Thought is
true because men and women aren't different. We also so
in other words, it's food for thought. From our buddy Mike,
it's just competition, right, But like our last caller just said,
it's kind of hard to deny that men and women
are different. Of course, so there's a little truth both.
And what do women love to talk about. I'm a
(43:41):
girl's chifriend. Oh, I'm a girl. Women love to say
I'm a girl's girl. I'm you know, I got other
women's back and you're not seeing that. And I'm not
saying it's a sexist thing. I'm saying that topic comes
up when you talk about this. It's fair to acknowledge
that women are different.
Speaker 1 (43:57):
Women love to I hear my wife and a girl
friends they talk about which girls are girls?
Speaker 2 (44:02):
Girls? It's a thing, David and Miami. What's up man?
Speaker 9 (44:06):
Hey David, guys, I don't understand what's with these other
women in the league. All of a sudden, they're getting
charted flights. All of a sudden, the New York team
has a revenue of one game of two million dollars.
All they're doing is selling out arenas whenever she comes,
and they don't like this. I've been a sports fan
(44:30):
all my life. I cannot remember one great pro starting
with lou Al Cinder Kareem who came into the league
where guys went after just Tim. Yeah, you had goons,
but they were goons against everybody, not just one person.
And these women, for whatever the reason is, it just
doesn't make any sense to me. Don't they want to
(44:52):
make more money?
Speaker 2 (44:53):
It's the attention she's getting, It's they think they're better.
It's she's why. It's a little bit of everything. Unfortunately,
she's also a millionaire. She's a millionaire. She's making thirty
million a year. They're making, you know, seventy thousand a year.
There's so many factors and it's kind of wild to
see and if you're not tuned in all these conversations.
Speaker 1 (45:12):
Help a little bit. Let me give you an interesting analogy.
Kavino and I our best fit ever here at Fox
Sports Radio. And I'm not just saying that it's true. Yeah,
but we spent a hell of a lot of time
at Serious XM. We were at Serious XM before Howard Stern.
Speaker 3 (45:25):
Yep.
Speaker 2 (45:26):
When he came to Serious XM, the stock that went
from I think three hundred thousand subscribers to like thirty million.
Speaker 1 (45:34):
Yeah, within that you know, ten plus year period. So
to say that would have been like Kavino and I
at Serious XM at the time working for Maxim Radio
being mad that Howard Stern came on board.
Speaker 2 (45:47):
I mean, I eventually was mad that he was getting
paid crazy amounts of money, but at the time, but
I mean he put eyeballs on for satellite radio. Absolutely,
he made your stock in four oh one k go
up all this stuff that would that was.
Speaker 3 (46:00):
There any resentment at all, like truly about the money or.
Speaker 2 (46:04):
Because it kept the ship ship afloat the same way
I said, ship ship afloat, because that's what the w
NBA needed. She's exactly what they needed and people are
mad about it. It's wild to watch, it really is. Yeah,
well so we got let's go to David in Texas. David, buddy, Hey,
(46:24):
what's up, guys?
Speaker 13 (46:25):
You know what do you have a quick question?
Speaker 4 (46:27):
I agree with you, guys. Everything like that is competitive sport.
You know, as the w NBA telling her welcome back,
welcome home, rooking some situation like that. But in the
situation like this, I want to open up a little
conspiracy theory. Uh during the during the Iowa game and
Connecticut game, you had one of the Connecticut ex players
that it's with a favorite team right now, and when
(46:49):
Yukon won the game, she was body with Yukon now
now her being teammates, don't you think that the Cardoza
and her are talking and saying, hey, you know what
she's saying this about you guys or whatever whatever counts?
Percy theory like that which I say.
Speaker 2 (47:04):
You know, dude, I know what you're saying is these
girls are like best palace playing together.
Speaker 1 (47:10):
Now one of them is with Caitlin Clark. Maybe this cattiness,
I don't know. Again, you could say the same about
men though, right Like, there's guys that played ball together
in college.
Speaker 2 (47:19):
And when we get to the pros, let's go to
Eddie and Indiana. Eddie and Indy. What's up, buddy? What up?
Speaker 10 (47:25):
Ed Hey?
Speaker 14 (47:26):
I'm thinking of a recent NBA player that came in
with a lot of high alonzo ball and he got
pretty good walking from Patrick Beverley there he basically almost
fouled out in the first floor of the game. And
I don't think Caitlyn Clark necessarily has it in her
physically to retaliate. I really just think her only move
now is just to lay on the floor and just
(47:48):
say what are you guys doing, you know with their
Facebook spressure. I think that's all she's got right now.
Speaker 2 (47:53):
Well, if moves will be made, I think Iowa Sam
hit the nail on the head too. You got to
have someone there to protect her moving forward. Better way
continue allowing this sort of play against her lonzo ball
when he came in. Let's just remind ourselves the difference.
Caitlin Clark is sort of a soft, softer spoken in general.
Let's be honest. He's not like the most boisterous person,
(48:15):
soft spoken three point star gave attention to women's basketball.
Lonzo Ball had the most loudmouthed dad that was doing
media and interviews and talking about is always sons are
the stars? That I mean Lonzo Ball LeVar the dad,
right Leavar?
Speaker 1 (48:33):
Yeah, really, you know, put his kids at a disadvantage
from the first tip.
Speaker 2 (48:39):
LeVar like Tony. I thought Tony Terry had three sons
in the NBA. Look up Tony Terry if you don't
remember him. Tony Terry is an R and B star
of the nineties. What's up, Dan Byer?
Speaker 3 (48:47):
I feel like this this is also this is also
every team.
Speaker 6 (48:50):
It feels like this isn't just a one off of
a Patrick Beverly giving someone an initiation. This is all right,
what's the next team that's coming into town that's going
to try to take a shot at Caitlyn Clark. That's
what this feels like. It So it's a league wide thing,
because I thought it was. I was going to try
to compare it to the Pistons and know when the
Pistons were physical with everyone, but the Pistons were one
(49:11):
team trying to form their identity. This feels like, and
it's not every player in the league, but it sure
seems that there's someone on each team that really has
a problem with Kaitlyn.
Speaker 2 (49:20):
And know what I think it also is you could
say that this is a layer, not that they're necessarily
trying to be overly rough with her, but you don't
think everyone that might be put in the position to
guard her. Oh, you're one on one with Caitlin. It's
their moment to shine as well. Yes, so they're going
to play their hard. It's like if I told you Kavino,
that's what I said. Every Ali there's a Joe Fajo.
(49:43):
One could be that Joe Frasier in this moment and
prove that they're even better than her. But you don't
have to go this way about it. Give me a
random WNBA team that I woantn't know. The Washington Mystics perfect,
the Mystics worse than the Fever whoever's on the Mystics, which,
by the way, if I was in the pain Cave
of Caves and had to name one player, I would
die in the cave whoever is on the Mystics. So
(50:05):
if I'm on the Minnesota Mystics, no, watch the Minnesota
Lynx on the Minnesota Links. There you go, and it's
my golden opportunity. You're gonna be on ESPN tonight because
you're playing the Fever and I have a chance to
guard Kaitlyn Clark. You don't think I'm playing the hardest
I've ever played in my life, but I'm saying you're
gonna ball and you're gonna be like, Yo, I'm gonna
(50:26):
show her. You're gonna play a little more physical. It'll
be in your DNA to do it. If you're a
dark game, they're like, oh, here we go. I'm gonna
be in the I'm gonna be on the news. Everyone,
you know everyone. They always say the Chiefs, right, everyone.
When they circle that game on the calend, they're like,
that's our game against the defending Super Bowl champs. Every
team is circling the Indiana Fever game as like, that's
our game and you know what it's doing.
Speaker 3 (50:49):
Though.
Speaker 2 (50:50):
The Yankees are off tonight, right and obviously the NBA
f go, what are you gonna do? No, but the
NBA Finals doesn't start till Thursday. So what did I do?
For the first time in forever? I had looked up
the schedule to see if Indiana is playing. They're gonna say,
go to the gym, my girlfriend, I'm doing that too.
I mean, but she's like, since when do you care
(51:10):
about the w n B A And I was like,
since since this? Since this? So they played three days
in a row. Three. Yeah, it's working. That is the
positive out of all this drama. Show works, John and
Indy three more quickies that will move on? John, Indy,
You're on.
Speaker 5 (51:29):
Well, I think it's kind of equivalent to Michael Jordan
not saying that she is going to be Michael Jordan
in a sense. But when Michael Jordan came out of college,
you kind of knew about him, but you really didn't.
But if you were in the moment, you know that
he transformed what the sport is today, and no shoe
contract would be as relevant, no concert, no commercials would
(51:50):
be as relevant. So I mean, they just got to
piggyback on and ride the right the coattails of evolution
do which suck that it's probably her face. I don't know,
but you know, hey, there's.
Speaker 2 (52:02):
Women that are there's women that are definitely like her,
her her face. Oh come on, there's no question that
there are women that are probably better than her, obviously
better than her. But she's also a rookie in the
league right now, so give her time to develop. And
her team stinks, so I can see why people say, Look,
even in our business, in every business, there's someone that
gets more attention than you. But you know you're better then,
(52:26):
So I get that, but use that to fuel your fire.
You don't need to be you don't need to cheapen
your own worth by making flagrant fouls and playing dirty.
That's a good point to enhance yourself. That's a good point.
No matter what industry you're in. There's someone that gets
more attention than yours. And I sit there every night too, like,
why then we're better than them? But if it's it's
for the greater good of everybody, Brad, then you gotta
(52:49):
understand that as well. North Carolina, b rad what's up, man, Yeah,
I'll tell you.
Speaker 15 (52:53):
The one thing I haven't heard is much about that
I think is a really glaring thing, is that her
own team.
Speaker 2 (53:02):
That is eye opening. It even I was saying it
was like, oh yeah, they're like when when she got
hard checked, that's when some of the other women on
the team should have stepped up instead of just watching
her fall. That was very weak.
Speaker 5 (53:13):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (53:13):
I see some footage though, you guys were at the
time out. Some of her teammates did come over and
started chirping a little bit at the other team. So
right in that moment, right when it happened, they didn't
run over.
Speaker 2 (53:24):
Maybe they're not used to it. They're a little in
shock too, right, Yeah, I may have to step up now.
Speaker 3 (53:29):
Yeah, you know, it's an interesting thing to pay attention to.
The Next time this happens, they run over quickly.
Speaker 2 (53:34):
I told you, I told you. Miss Clark needs to
make a call to a guy. I know, mister, fam
What happens? Speaking of what happens in baseball, someone gets
someone gets hit. What happens the next nying retaliation? The
picture has his teammates back and someone else gets hit.
They have to show right away that they have her back,
or else they're not a team at all. Yep, it's
(53:58):
time for a game.
Speaker 15 (53:59):
What's still you have five seconds to battle for your
sports trivia lite dam put your electronic devices down and
pick your sports knowledge CNRS.
Speaker 2 (54:17):
Last one standing, Last one standing.
Speaker 1 (54:21):
My favorite game we played, Danny g It gives you
the most anxiety, but I feel like it's our best
one dress.
Speaker 2 (54:26):
Oh.
Speaker 3 (54:26):
I have four anxiety riddled categories prepared if you needed
a tiebreaker. Each contestant gets five seconds to stay alive
in the round. If you run out of time or
answer incorrectly, Iowa Sam will scort you out with the
famous buzzer. I would keep battling until you are the
last one standing. If you win two of the rounds,
you are the top dog. Here are the contestants. Two
(54:47):
time winner Steve Covino should be four, but who's counting
to his right, he actually does have four. That's Rich
Davis four, fifteen time winner and leader in the clubhouse,
Dan Bayer and good at this game. By the way,
Spot is the fact checker during the game. Very important part.
And we're gonna go to the studio lines right now.
(55:08):
See who's gonna play for a stainless steel Swiggy. He's
a fatter fact fact all right, buyer, I'll use you
for this. Would you love to travel to beautiful Montana, Chico, California, Alaska,
or Sacramento, California.
Speaker 6 (55:21):
They all they all sound amazing, but we're gonna go
with Montana. Phil, I've left Montana out. A couple of you.
Speaker 3 (55:28):
That's Joel Joel. What part of Montana? Joel, Montana, Missoula?
What do you? What do you do for work? There?
Speaker 2 (55:36):
Something with horses?
Speaker 5 (55:38):
We're construction.
Speaker 2 (55:39):
Okay, his name is Joe Joel, Joel, Joe from Missoula.
Like Joe Missoula. That'd be kind of fun.
Speaker 3 (55:48):
All right, here we go. I think Joel Montana is
better Joe. Coach of that. When I say your name,
the clock is going to begin. Here's the first category,
guaranteed cheese. You have five seconds to name an NFL
QB who's on the top ten list according to Sporting
News last month for most guaranteed money. Coveno, You're up first.
(56:09):
Go Lamar Jackson Yes, number five, Rich Kirk Cousins negative,
out of the buyer, Bulligan, Joe Burrow Yes, Joel.
Speaker 5 (56:30):
Patrick Mahomes homes number.
Speaker 3 (56:32):
Four, reworked that deal, YEP Coveno, Herbert Herbert number three,
nice fire. Josh Allen. Josh Allen is number nine, Joel.
Speaker 5 (56:43):
Oh the Cowboys, Jack Prescott.
Speaker 3 (56:45):
Prescott not in the list, sorry, Coveno to no, No,
that means is the last the deal?
Speaker 7 (56:56):
Umber, Yes, go on that number one strong Rich when
you were out in the first round, get at it.
Speaker 3 (57:04):
Jalen Hurts, Kyler Murray, Matthew Stafford is because it's had
a new deal. Let's get to the second category. Buyer
on the board so far, Bubbly in the Cup. Oh,
you have five seconds to name an NHL team that
has won the Stanley Cup between two thousand and twenty
twenty three. All right, and Joel, you're gonna go first.
(57:26):
Go yes, yes, sir Buyer. Pittsburgh Penguins, Yes, Rich, Tampa
Bay Lightning, Yes, coven Golden Knights, Yeah, of course, Joel,
Chicago Blackhawks.
Speaker 2 (57:44):
Yeah, what team then?
Speaker 3 (57:47):
Yeah it's Hawks, gotcha Hawks? But Dan Bayer Uh, Carolina Hurricanes, yes, sir, Rich,
La Kings, Yes, Coveno Dallas Stars Nope?
Speaker 2 (58:04):
Really yes, I thought I was get out of here, Covino.
Speaker 3 (58:10):
Back to Joel Knock. Alright, sorry, Joel Buyer, Washington Capitals.
Speaker 2 (58:23):
Rich, the Hurricanes.
Speaker 5 (58:28):
Somebody?
Speaker 2 (58:28):
Yeah, oh you said that?
Speaker 3 (58:30):
Different one three.
Speaker 2 (58:32):
Boston Bruins uh nope, Oh yes, I'm.
Speaker 3 (58:35):
Yeah, I'm sorry, yes, sorry, sorry, Buyer, sorry, good.
Speaker 6 (58:42):
Sabers, No, Rich, Avalanche, Blues, Ducks and Duck.
Speaker 2 (58:51):
I had I had the ducks on deck.
Speaker 1 (58:53):
I had the ducks on deck with Gordon Bombay remember
that year there?
Speaker 3 (58:57):
All right, Buyer and Rich both on the board as
we moved to the third Canadian teams. By the way,
none of them right.
Speaker 2 (59:03):
I know you went four.
Speaker 3 (59:05):
Oilers oilers hoping to change that.
Speaker 2 (59:07):
That's why the Oilers is a big deal.
Speaker 3 (59:09):
Like thirty years ninety three? Third category national? Would you
have five seconds to name a National League batting champion
between the years twenty twenty twenty three?
Speaker 2 (59:18):
Covino you're first, DJ lem Mayhew. Yes, you only know
that because he went back to back in one year,
was with the Yankees. That's a good one, all right, Rich,
I'll have to waste this one. Jose Reyis was actually
a batting champion. Yes, that's correct.
Speaker 3 (59:34):
Eleven Buyer Louis our eyes, Yeah, yes, Joel you're up next, Yes, yeah,
good one thousand and three, wow, alright, Coveno three two one,
Come on, bro, Rice Harbor, I don't know, Rich.
Speaker 2 (59:59):
Goldschmid, that's a good guess.
Speaker 3 (01:00:01):
He's a power guy. Goldie. No.
Speaker 2 (01:00:05):
If my backup answers, I'm gonna be so man. Did
trout uh the nationally?
Speaker 3 (01:00:12):
Now you go three two one.
Speaker 2 (01:00:19):
There, because I would have guessed then.
Speaker 3 (01:00:21):
No, I mean Joel is the last.
Speaker 2 (01:00:27):
We had so many, so many options. I think that
you know because we're so uns Gonzalez, black Man, Jones, Yellick,
Gordon is on the list, Derek Lee knows and Yellis
was a good one. We shouldn't know. We should have
known Barry bo But you know what, I think we
all agree that back in the day, when we were kids,
(01:00:48):
it was like Wade Bogs and Tony Gwynn. There were
guys that were like multi time winners. Now it seems
like white right, So it's not as easy. Good category
a tough one. Now we got a three way tie, Buyer,
Rich and Joel.
Speaker 3 (01:00:59):
As we go to the fourth category, best of the best,
you have five seconds to name an NBA Finals MVP
between twenty twenty twenty three, and we're gonna start with Joel.
Speaker 5 (01:01:09):
Go for it, Joel Andre Gudala, yep.
Speaker 3 (01:01:13):
Nice fifteen Buyer Kawhi Leonard Yes twenty nineteen, Rich and fourteen.
Lebron James Lebron, James yep, Lebron, Covino him, Duncan Yes,
back to Joel, Kevin Drane yep, okay, d Baby, Buyer,
(01:01:35):
Jannas Yes, yep, Rich Shaquille O'Neill, yes, yeah, first one
on that list. Covino, Curry yep, Joel, Kobe, Bryant yep, Buyer,
Tony Parker yes, yeah, nice battle, Rich.
Speaker 2 (01:01:58):
Dirk yes, Cove. There's only a few left?
Speaker 3 (01:02:05):
Three two, one, yeah all right, Joel Pier No, oh yes, sorry,
nice poll, Joel Buyer. Did someone say shack? Yeah, Okay,
then I'm gonna go. Chauncey billups yep, two thousand, Rich,
(01:02:30):
we did?
Speaker 2 (01:02:30):
D Wade yes, uh nobody?
Speaker 3 (01:02:38):
Uh no, sorry, Joel Byer.
Speaker 2 (01:02:43):
D Wade was a good pull. There only one left?
Speaker 3 (01:02:47):
Yeah, jeez, I think there's one left. Oh yeah yeah yeah.
Speaker 7 (01:02:54):
Oh wait yeah you getch yeah yeah yet yes, nobody
said it.
Speaker 3 (01:02:59):
Nobody said it.
Speaker 2 (01:03:00):
Yeah, and that's it.
Speaker 3 (01:03:02):
I think. Look at twenty fourteen, twenty fifteen, no one
said that one right, yeah, I oh okay, yeah yeah
it was. It was so everybody's taken.
Speaker 2 (01:03:12):
Look at that.
Speaker 3 (01:03:14):
So we're so good, is it Buyer and Rich still
yeah and Rich right, So we're gonna have to do
sudden death when we come back.
Speaker 2 (01:03:22):
When we come back, sudden death.
Speaker 1 (01:03:23):
DB's got an update and he's like, I wanted to
get on the four or five by that.
Speaker 2 (01:03:28):
DP.
Speaker 3 (01:03:29):
What's going on.
Speaker 2 (01:03:33):
Basketball trivia on tomorrow show. Let's wrap this up. Yeah,
we got to go to overtime break, sudden death and quick.
Thank you to Joel who was playing there from Montana.
Thank you, Joel.
Speaker 3 (01:03:44):
All right, here we go. This is between Rich and Bayer,
no multiple choice. It's whoever comes closest without going over.
If you're both over, then it's who's closest. All right,
here we go. A nineteen sixty home run in Detroit
by the great Nicky Mantle was recognized by Guinness Records
as the furthest ball ever hit in a Major League game.
(01:04:04):
How many feet did it travel? Whoever wants to go first?
Speaker 2 (01:04:09):
Buzz I have a number written down, so okay, I've
that way you won't know. I won't be lying.
Speaker 6 (01:04:14):
Go ahead, I'm gonna say five sixty two, five sixty
two for Buyer.
Speaker 1 (01:04:18):
Okay, I wrote down what Kamino just to show him
telling the truth. Five fifty one fife.
Speaker 3 (01:04:23):
Fifty one and the winner six hundred and forty three feet.
Dan Byer is closest, by the way.
Speaker 2 (01:04:35):
He was there for that game. Billy Crystal was there
when he was a kid, and he said that he
just remembers the crowd roaring, and right when it was hit.
He said, there was a priest in front of him
and he stood up and he missed the whole thing
because he was eight years old.
Speaker 3 (01:04:48):
And it was his first game. This is what's crazy.
It traveled over four traffic lanes and into a lumber yard.
An employee at Brooks lumber remembered exactly where the ball landed.
He was able to turn the measurement into in this
book of worlds records. Wow, I was going to just
say six hundred. I felt that that was an even one.
That's a bomb insane.
Speaker 2 (01:05:09):
So thank you. Congratulations dB on your fifteenth fIF Is
it fifteen? Why don't you brag about it? That's sixteen
sixteen wins. Well, Hey, I'm glad we're wrapping up the
show because I have a cosmic baseball game to get
to tonight. By the way, did you I think this?
I told Kabino I want to open up joining the
league right now. I want to open up a cosmic
(01:05:31):
sports facility. If you don't know what we're talking about,
the first ever cosmic baseball game was played. I was saying,
did you see this where it's like it's pitch dark.
The lights in the stadium are black lights, The ball,
the bat, and the uniforms are all black light lit,
so it looks like laser baseball. I feel like there should.
Speaker 1 (01:05:50):
Be It's very cool, a batting cage, mini golf and bowling.
And I want to make a cosmic facility, cosmic facility
coming soon. The C and R can I join in
on this, but this will be how we make our
see it, our cosmic facility. It will be like our
own fantasy factory of sorts. Honestly coming in cool as hell,
Danny G have you seen any of the clips? No
cosmic baseball over the weekend?
Speaker 2 (01:06:11):
First ever game and again under black black lights and
everything champagne room. They know if you want to make
sure your uniforms, they said. The only sort of thing
that seemed to be challenging was catching a fly ball,
like it was hard to get that perception at night.
But everything else was legit, but pretty pretty cool to
(01:06:33):
think that they did that.
Speaker 1 (01:06:34):
And again, when you think about cool things you could
do on like a weekend when you're like a teenager,
a twenty something year old on a date night, to
say that if you made a mini golf batting cage
facility that was all glow in the.
Speaker 2 (01:06:46):
Dark like that, we can call it golf and stuff. Yeah,
brilliance of it. Can't wait. I let's invest everything we
have into this clow in the dark cosmic sports per
photon fantasy factory. Let's do it. Well.
Speaker 1 (01:07:00):
Enjoy your Monday night late night in sports. So uh hey,
let us know what you're watching at Covino Rituals.
Speaker 2 (01:07:05):
See tomorrow. Until then, Riva theirci baby, are you in
the promis Land? Goodbye guys.
Speaker 3 (01:07:12):
Later
