combining hands on care with cunning edge technology to help
keep everyone safe. Learn more at Safety runs First dot
com that Safety runs First dot com. Now, during the break,
I was talking to Brie and Shae and all the
guys and girls in the editing room, who do you
keep and hang on to old technology? Because today's National
VCR Day? And I realized if you move and you're
(01:28):
not a pack rat, you lose those things along the way,
Like I don't have a VCR, I don't have a
CD player, I don't have a cassette deck. I don't
have any of the stuff our generation grew up with.
Because every time my wife and I moved from New York, Jersey,
LA from an apartment to a house, eventually things don't
make the cut, like why are we taking the VCR?
(01:51):
What do you need a VCR for? Until get a storage?
You know, until yeah, Danny's like I got over there,
don't I got Max? What do you need? You know?
You realize technology is all shrunk.
Speaker 2 (02:03):
Now by the way, you can get like a cassette
deck that plugs right into a laptop, so you can
transfer old cassette tapes digitally.
Speaker 1 (02:09):
And that's what a lot of people will end up
doing it Because she'll realize you're like, oh, man, Morse code,
I don't have a VCR, but am I never gonna
watch Thanksgiving ninety seven? Like Dan Byer, you were saying,
you have a bunch of VHS tapes.
Speaker 3 (02:24):
Yeah, of my games, old Seahawk games. And I was
so excited. I brought up, got a VCR about a
couple of months ago, even ordered the converter from Amazon
that you needed to hook it up, and watched it.
Then I watched fifteen minutes and I was over it.
But it's still comforting to know that I have those
games and have those you know sort of events, the tracking,
(02:47):
the SLP mode when you try to extend the tape
to six hours. When you're talking about Will Smith, I've
got episodes of Fresh Prints randomly taped.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
You know, it's even more fun than the episodes or
old movies or old games you tape. The commercials. Those
are the hidden gems, because you know, if it's an
old episode of Growing Pains that your brother tape, that's
one thing. But in between when it's like my buddy,
my buddy, like, oh crap, look at old commercial for Crossfire.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
You know, we talk about the George Michael's sports machine
and how great that show was on Sunday nights. I
would always record the plays of the month that he
would have, and now those are so popular. ESPN does
ten plays a day, which completely waters it down. But
when you think of like I remember, CNN would do
the same thing. They would have their plays for the
month of June and it would be air on June
(03:37):
thirtieth and it was great.
Speaker 1 (03:40):
Great TV. That's the stuff that I would record on VHS.
dB For people on the East coast, the equivalent, we
had George Michael and the Sports Machine. But Warner Wolf,
let's go to the videotape. He did plays of the week,
plays of the month. Every year he did a special
and my dad had all of those Warner Wolf Plays
of the year on VHS. I had one VHS. Tell
(04:02):
me how much you think this tape was worn through?
And it's nothing dirty. I had Naked Gun and Major
League on the same VHS tape. I must have watched
that hundreds of times. I'd buy that. Now again, you
have all this stuff on National VCR Day. But if
(04:22):
you don't have the VCR the cassette deck like we're
in radio, people don't realize your early days of radio,
your demos and Dan Byer on the radio for the
first time. It's probably on a cassette somewhere. Yes, yes,
because you had what they called an air check. Yep.
If you don't have a walkman or a cassette deck,
you'll never hear it again. No, you're out of luck.
Speaker 3 (04:42):
I would run out of if you ever run out
of tape during a game where like you got to
the end of the tape and then you're scramped, Like
that would happen to me at times that you wouldn't
all of a sudden, You're like in the fourth quarter
and the tape just all of a sudden stops and
then just starts rewinding going to the beginning, and so
you'd have to go and another tape, and you have
to be like part two of you know, you'd have
(05:03):
to scramble.
Speaker 2 (05:03):
And then for the youngsters listening, these VHS tapes had
tabs where you'd have once they were broken, you'd have
to put tape over them to re record over the
VHS cassette said the same thing. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (05:16):
The crazy part about that is there's a younger generation
that you know, their biggest grit might be like, yo,
you deleted that picture off your iPhone or I pad.
I imagine the fights. You remember the fights when someone
accidentally taped over something like oh yeah, yes, like yes,
like I was a dummy and probably maybe I taped
(05:36):
an episode of ALF over something really important. My mom
had where's my soap opera?
Speaker 2 (05:41):
My younger brother taped Olympics over my fresh prints of
bell Air collection?
Speaker 1 (05:47):
Olympics? Are you kidding me?
Speaker 2 (05:48):
When you're a summer let's say check this out really quick.
Rich Marion Stokes a Philadelphia woman who began taping whatever
was on TV in nineteen seventy nine and she didn't
stop until her death in twenty twelve. Seventy one thousand
VHS tapes in Betamax tapes later. She has the most
(06:09):
complete collection in the USA of our era of TV.
They're being digitized by the Internet Archive.
Speaker 1 (06:16):
That's pretty cool, man. But does she have the nineteen
ninety Slam Dunk Contest? Does she? I do? He does? Yes?
Does he? Does? She have Waterwalls Plays of the year
eighty seven? Because Greg does in Queens? My dad, all right,
you know what, We're gonna play a game something Danny
G came up with. I Danny g I get you
behind you. I get behind you on this because we're
talking about how everyone is all of a sudden now
(06:37):
on the WNBA, it's the hot sport. They have an opportunity.
Even Charles Barkley said, if played right, there's a couple
months here where all we're gonna have is baseball once
the NBA Finals and the Stanley Cupper Donzo, we're waiting
for football and we have months, and during those months,
it's baseball or the WNBA. So, how well, what about
(06:58):
the UFL? So what about the UFL? Is that a
made up thing? You just said? I'm kidding? Does that
any mean it might be? So? How well do you
know your WNBA players? And yesterday we're talking about Chipotle
and how it's overpriced, but yet we love it. They're
giving away free burritos at the NBA Finals. I got
(07:19):
suckered into getting a burrito yesterday, Gaus. We were talking
about it so much, damn it. I think I want
Chipotle thirty three dollars Danny for two burritos and chips
and guac worth every bite. Highway robbery, but I love it.
So Danny g looked up like executives at Chipotle, not
just executives, some line workers and crew members as well.
So this is a little game called WNBA player or
(07:43):
Chipotle worker. You ready to do this, let's go. Let's
Chipotle employee. Okay, WNBA player.
Speaker 2 (07:51):
That's right, Chipotle employee or w NBA player, teaching the
nation about w NBA players, and a tip of the
cap to all of our workers at Chipotle. All right,
so we're gonna go to the studio lines to see
who's going to join the crew. I'm guessing here trying
to win a swiggy, and rich you said, as long
as they don't come in last place, they're gonna walk
(08:11):
away with a price.
Speaker 1 (08:12):
I'm feeling good. Camino's not here today, he's at his
daughter's middle school graduation. So as long as you don't
come in last place, we'll give you a C and
R swiggy, a stainless steel water bottle. Where do you
want to go, Missouri?
Speaker 2 (08:23):
Let's go to Missouri, Richard, Richard, All right, rich you're ready.
Speaker 1 (08:27):
Sarah, Yeah, all right, yeah, we need a little more Friday, Richard,
you're not. You're not build Belichick in a podium after
a loss. You're about to win a Swiggy.
Speaker 4 (08:37):
I'm about to win one.
Speaker 1 (08:38):
That's right, let's go here. Here's his say.
Speaker 3 (08:40):
Danny sometimes offers me the opportunity to pick someone on
a certain line, so there's only one of four that
gets through. And when I usually pick, I'm so disappointed
when the person's like, hello, like they already won, Like
they get.
Speaker 1 (08:53):
To play the game. You've already won something. You should
be excited to be on the chef. Ye bring that energy, Richard.
Speaker 2 (08:58):
I have Idaho and Tacoma on backup right now, so
rich we need that energy.
Speaker 1 (09:02):
He's got, he's got doctor.
Speaker 4 (09:03):
I'm here, I'm.
Speaker 2 (09:04):
Ready, all right, all right, rich spot buyer, prefet Richard
and Missouri are the contestants. Here we go, Chipotle employee
or w NBA player. Spotty's going to keep score. I
got it, hold short, ready to go.
Speaker 1 (09:19):
This is not meant to be disrespectful. What it is
meant to be is to show that we better brush
up on the w n B A if it's going
to be a thing, Here we go, and it's also
going to say, uh, what's up to our Chipotle workers?
Speaker 2 (09:29):
Scott Helen sun Ju Lee Chipotle employee or w NBA player.
Speaker 1 (09:34):
Rich I don't think there's a w NBA player named Helen.
I'm gonna go Chipotle worker, all.

Jackie Young is a six foot guard for the Vegas Aces.
Speaker 1 (10:35):
Yeah, oh my god, Richard. And you know what, also,
if you go oh for if you go over, I
think I might want to give you this swiky as well.
Speaker 2 (10:44):
Next one, Next name Courtney Williams, Chipotle employee or w
NBA player rich.
Speaker 1 (10:50):
Oh Courtney Williams. Oh, she's uh that said that has
w NBA player written all over Courtney Williams. I'm gonna
greet w B A buyer. Let's mix it up. Let's
go Chipotle, perfet It could be anything. I'm gonna say,
w NBA okay, Richard w n B A.
Speaker 2 (11:11):
Courtney Williams is a five eight guard for the Minnesota Lake. Yeah, baby,
she's a baller. I guarantee I can find you a
Courtney Williams that works at the Chapotle. Yeah, all right.
Next name Michelle Rice? All right, Chipotle employee or w
NBA player rich Cilantro Lime Rice? Is that her middle name?
Speaker 1 (11:34):
You said, Courtney Rice? Yeah, Courtney, No, Michelle Rice, Michelle Rice,
Michelle Rice. Oh, there's a lot of athletes with the
last name Rice, which I think is a little trick.
I think she might be like regional VP of Chipotle somewhere.
Speaker 2 (11:48):
So I'm gonna go Chipotle, all right, spot, I'm going
with Chipotle as well, buyer. I'm gonna go w NBA, okay, perfect,
Chipotle Richard in Missouri. Chipotle Michelle is a general manager
for Chipotle and Georgia. Yes, Michelle doing fine work for
the company in Georgia.
Speaker 1 (12:06):
By the way. This is my second favorite game. Second
all into a game. Cavino and I played Back of
the Day, which was middle infielder or explorer, which is
which is a great game. All right?
Speaker 2 (12:17):
Next name Serena Driver, Chipotle employee or w NBA player
rich Oh Driver.
Speaker 1 (12:23):
It's like one of those uh sports names. Driver. I'm
gonna go she she plays for like the Sun or
something like that. Yeah, I'll go w n B A
All right, Spotty, I'm gonna I think it's another trick question.
I'm gonna stick with Chipotle this one. I'm gonna go
a spot. I think Chipotle one.
Speaker 5 (12:42):
I feel like if if there was a w NBA
player named Driver. No, I'm gonna say Chipotle.
Speaker 2 (12:48):
I'm gonna say, all right, Richard Chipotle. Serena Driver is
a service manager for Chipotle. Is North Carolina, North cackle,
lack of standout, all right. Next name Veronica Burton, Veronica Burton,
all right, Chipotle employee or w NBA player.
Speaker 1 (13:08):
Rich Veronica Burton, Chipotle. It's botty. I'm gonna go WNB
and this one buyer Man.
Speaker 3 (13:15):
I don't want to sound like an echo, but I'm
gonna go w NBA as well.
Speaker 2 (13:18):
Fet give me the dub Richard w NBA five nine
guards for the Connecticut Sun. All right, now, I'm.
Speaker 1 (13:32):
Learning so much of this game. I know we're learning.
You're becoming more familiar with some of the names of
the w NBA, not just Cameron Brink, not just Skyler Diggins,
who's talking about.
Speaker 6 (13:43):
A private some of these dancers. You have Kaitlin Clark,
more players than there's Cameron Brink. Yeah, all right, next name,
Kaylee Bloom. Kaylee Bloom Chipotle employee or w NBA player.
Speaker 1 (13:56):
Rich I think you're trying to confuse me because it's
close to Kelsey Plum. I'm gonna go Chipotle, Spotty. I'm
gonna go w A B A on this one again.
Buyer Boomster w n B A per fet.
Speaker 5 (14:10):
I'm gonna go with in honor of how I used
to say, it is a good Chappotto.
Speaker 1 (14:14):
There you got me, Rich Richard in Missouri, Chapotle. Kaylee
Bloom is a Chipotle crew member. And there you go.
Let's say one more, Danny, one more, let's travel with
one more.
Speaker 2 (14:29):
Here we go. Samantha Floor. She a w NBA player
Chipotle employee.
Speaker 1 (14:36):
Rich Samantha Floor is on the floor. She plays like, yeah,
she wnba, I'm feeling that.
Speaker 2 (14:42):
All right, Spotty Chipotle on this one, Bayer. Let's go
w n B A per fet.
Speaker 5 (14:48):
There can't be someone named floor in the w n
B A Chipotle Chipotle Richard in Missouri.
Speaker 4 (14:56):
Uh yeah, there's no floor Chipotle.
Speaker 1 (14:59):
She is a crew line member for the Chipotle in Ohio. Yes,
but you know what, I didn't even care what the scores.
How do you do? Mother way, We're going to find
out the score from Spotty. We got five.
Speaker 7 (15:09):
We got six for Richard? Okay to perfect, got a
perfect score somehow?
Speaker 1 (15:14):
Wow? Wow three four.
Speaker 3 (15:18):
Nobody talks about it during the game because they knew
we were on the verge of history.
Speaker 1 (15:22):
Nobody mentioned the game. I don't know. I didn't need
to be reminded. I didn't even look at him during
the game, like I'm staying away. Talk to him in
the dugout already.
Speaker 7 (15:31):
By the way, Richard six in last place, Dan Bayer,
which means Richard wins a swiggy.
Speaker 1 (15:37):
There you go, congratulation. Sorry, Daniel, we got four. Wow
Richard in Missouri.
Speaker 2 (15:43):
We will mail a CNR stainless steel Swiggy water bottle
to you there.
Speaker 1 (15:51):
Oh, you got to look at this. He's already got
a football. Thank you, brother Dan Bayer is uh. It's
funny some of these Chipoli workers are going to get
a call from someone like, did they mention you on
Fox Sports today? You were part of a game. But
thank you for being part of the silliest thing we've
done this week, Chipotle worker or WNBA player. Now, coming
up here on Fox Sports Radio, we are going to
(16:12):
get to weekend hobnobin what to watch in the world
of sports and entertainment, plus a little more NBA playoffs,
And based on the fact that Will Smith got Bad
Boys for coming out, I have a thought about action
movies and sequels. We'll get to all that coming up
right here on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 7 (16:30):
Do we all agree that Bad Boys Force should have
been Bad Boys for life? Or did they just not
see that far ahead?
Speaker 1 (16:36):
It's a good questions spot hold that thoughts exactly now.
For centuries, the bond between horse and human been forged
by trust and hands on care. The sport of thoroughbred
racing is combining those traditions with cutting edge technology and
meaningful reforms, raising its safety standards to the highest level.
New investments in wearable biometric devices that measure subtle changes
(16:59):
in a horse's stride. They use advanced imaging technology to
help flag problems for early intervention by expert veterinarians, reducing
injury risk. Scientific experts. Tests measure and analyze racing surfaces
to ensure consistency and the sports New Independent Regulator HAISA
is implementing comprehensive reforms, state of the art testing, monitoring
(17:20):
and strict enforcement, along with new uniform standards, enhancing veterinary
protocols and other measures to make it safe for racing.
Meaningful reforms, latest tag high standards every day, the sports

to protect horse and rider that way win or lose.

phelf David Spade, got Fi Emmy, and also those who
can help us in between the ears, anyone from a

(18:18):
all been through some sort of adversity to get to
the top.
Speaker 1 (18:21):
We've all used different tools.

Speaker 1 (18:38):
I used to love that song paper Planes m.
Speaker 5 (18:41):
I A I like I'm remember in two thousand and eight,
remember seeing hearing this the first time. I think it
was the trailer for Pineapple Express and I just got
I just got so jazzed up to it.
Speaker 1 (18:51):
It's a good song, man, good one. pFET profets on
the Ones and Tues, Danny g super producing. Get Ready
for the weekend. We'll do some weekend hobnobbing in a
little bit. What to watch in the world of sports
and entertainment. There's some shows I want to bring up.
There's some fights, there's some sports, there's a little of everything.
Speaking of fights, today was the day they announced Tyson
(19:12):
Jake Paul postponed. As you know, no longer on July twentieth.
It's been moved to November fifteenth, and I'm crossing my
fingers that that date sticks because there were speculation that
maybe this doesn't happen. You know, Iron Mike's getting older,
the ulcer thing. Maybe it's just a sign that, yeah,
maybe Iron Mike did just not do it. I'm hoping
he does. Jake Paul Tyson November fifteenth, so mark that
(19:38):
date down.
Speaker 2 (19:39):
Tyson will be on the show next Tuesday, we'll have
to or Monday rather we'll ask him about it.
Speaker 1 (19:43):
Little Tyson trivia can't wait day afternoon, don't miss it
this weekend. Bad Boys four gonna be all the rage.
We talked about do you forgive people that you don't
even know. We're talking like athletes, celebrities, Like if you
don't know them and you're just mad at something they did,
do you forgive and say? Who cares? That? Will Smith
slap Chris Rock? I'm gonna watch Bad Boys for it
(20:05):
brings up a question as we talked about some old
school VHS tapes, we talked about some old technology. Do
you put Bad Boys anywhere in your top five to
ten action franchises or is it on the outside looking
at because I did the math, because you know, not
only sports hosts Rich Davis mathematician, statistician. When did not start?
(20:30):
Danny g Would you believe that the Bad Boys franchise
with Will Smith? I'm sorry, Mike Lowry and Martin Lawrence,
who I love. Mart Lawrence was on our show once,
not the name drop, but I did really nice guy,
but I wanted like excited ma in like from Michelle. No,
he's a subdu ude guy and not subdued. You know,
(20:52):
it's like the late great James Gandelfini. People always thought
they were gonna get Tony Sobrano in an interview, and
you didn't get Tony soprano. You got like, hey, I'm
really soft spoken, games Gandelfeeni, you didn't even talk like that. Yeah,
you have Martin Lawrence, Will Smith. It's made close to
a billion dollars the whole franchise because they're on number
four and they've made a couple hundred million dollars each globally.
(21:15):
But did you watch the third one? I don't know
many not. I'm not gonna lie.
Speaker 2 (21:19):
My family and friends didn't see the third. I saw
the first and second.
Speaker 1 (21:21):
And you know, the third one made the most money.
That's crazy because it was the newest one. Yeah, the
Spot's theory on box office numbers, they're all skewed because
the latest movies are just gonna you know, it's like
who's the highest paid quarterback? Well who was up right? Yeah?
But yeah, where where would you put it? Is it
top ten? Is it even top twenty? Because I thought
of some of the ones that meant a lot to
me growing up. The Lethal Weapons, Yes, for sure, Beverly
(21:44):
Hills Cop which the new one with Eddie Murray. I
was gonna say, Eddie Murray, not the baseball player Eddie Murphy.
Eddie Murphy, this summer new hitter. Actually, fourth of July
week looks great. By the way, fourth of July week,
Beverly Hills Cop four comes out, So I thought, great callback,
Beverly Hills Spot, Lethal Weapon. I mean, in the same
vein die Hard, die Hard movie. Diehard movies are great,
(22:05):
fast and the Furious is on number like twenty. Then
you start saying, we're on Mars for the next movie.
We just celebrated the anniversary of the first Born identity movie,
the whole Born series that was big. You could say
Indiana Jones. If you want to categorize that as actions
and you missed a big one Mission impossible, the Mission
Impossible is I mean, of course those feel like those
were just even gotten better with age.
Speaker 5 (22:27):
We go from the second one with just like John
wu directing it to now like like, I love that
one though, because it's not like a limp Biscuits performing thought.
Speaker 1 (22:36):
Yeah, I'm gonna raise my hand and say guilty, I
have not seen all the Mission Impossible? Or is that
a cup? Should I sit down one day? Yes, you
know what I'm gonna do. I'm excited. My son is four.
There's gonna come a time when my son's a little
older where I'm going to experience some of these things
for the first time. Like, son, sit down, we're watching
all the Mission Impossible.
Speaker 5 (22:53):
The first one still has some of that thriller to it,
but then by Mission Ipossible to they lean into the
action and it's full throat from you.
Speaker 7 (23:00):
That's that's why I didn't like the second one, because
the first one was a little bit more psychological, which
you wanted out of a Mission Impossible. Then the second
one was a little bit campy, but hurt.
Speaker 1 (23:10):
It hurt.
Speaker 7 (23:11):
After that it amped up and actually I saw Dead
Reckoning recently great and Part two comes out next year,
which is the end of the franchise, so it has
a beginning and an end.
Speaker 1 (23:19):
Finally, Now, I.
Speaker 5 (23:20):
Had The Mission Impossible to soundtrack as a kid, and
that was a who's who of like rock, a new
rock of that era had Metallica, Rob Zombie, Limbiscuit, Chris Cornell,
the Foo Fighters.
Speaker 1 (23:33):
It was a killer album.
Speaker 5 (23:35):
So I've just this movie's always had a Geary special pas.
Speaker 2 (23:41):
Now now, Rich, I'm sorry. I was just gonna say
Star Wars I think could count I because I researched
popular action movie franchises.
Speaker 1 (23:50):
This is what comes up. John Wick, Star wars Man
John Wick. Throw that in Wick is absolute.
Speaker 2 (23:55):
Lethal weapon, Mad Max die Hard, Indiana Jones, Fast in
the Furious Mission Impossible.
Speaker 1 (24:01):
The new Mad Max Thatt have flopped at the box office,
you know what, I find.
Speaker 5 (24:05):
Kind of flopped at the box office. That was releasing
around that time, though. We were in a weird spot with.
Speaker 1 (24:10):
So I'm curious to see how Bad Boys four does
this week.
Speaker 5 (24:14):
So I don't think Fury Road did that well in
the box office too. It's just a lot of people
just really like that movie.
Speaker 1 (24:19):
So Bad Boys. Is it top twenty, I'd say yes.
I don't think it's top ten based on everything we're
saying now, but hey, Will Smith top fifteen, Martin Lawrence,
I'd take top top fifteen if you want to throw
it out there. We forgot one because there's a third
one that got the thumbs up from mister Tom Cruise
not Mission Impossible. They're going to make a Top Gun three,
and those three movies alone may out gross all these
(24:41):
others we just mentioned. I'm thinking back to the Lethal
Weapon movies. Did you like when they added Joe Peschi? I?
SOA did? I did? Yeah? I did too, I got right,
comic relief, Okay, Peshi makes everything better. Peschi's great. Peeshi's
career is sort of interesting, right. He has all these
cool movies where he's a badass and then heading like
(25:02):
Lethal Weapon and Home Alone, where he's at like comedic like.
He also dropped out.
Speaker 5 (25:08):
He's also basically dropped off the face of the earth
like and became a recluse recluse after like a point
in his acting career. And I think I do wonder
how much of those movies might have been the reason
why where it's like I'm just being called up to
be like a.
Speaker 1 (25:20):
Bit Okay, okay, well I would ask Dan Byer, but
we all know Dan Byer not a movie. No, not
at all.
Speaker 3 (25:26):
And I feel so left out, like I don't even
have anything to add, like, and you haven't mentioned a
movie that I've seen so far.
Speaker 1 (25:32):
None of these. Yeah, I've said before, Dan Byer is
the equivalent to a woman. You want to show the
world to the top of my magic carpet, dan Byer.
But I could show you.
Speaker 3 (25:40):
If you could see my world, I think you'd be
even more amazed. You know, you know the world that
I live in.
Speaker 7 (25:44):
You remember that bit a few years ago where Shilah
bough Street like live streamed him watching his own movies.
I want to do a live stream of Dan Bayer
watching these movies, Like I just want.
Speaker 3 (25:54):
To see I don't want to see the movies. I
want to see his face the TikTok on hearing that
song for the first time. Yeah, you know, nineteen seventies
and eighties song. I want to watch your face as
you watch all these movies.
Speaker 1 (26:05):
Kavino and I were the other day. I don't know
if it was here our Patreon. We're talking about her
mom's His mom loves watching reaction videos of young people
listening to classic music, and you know that's a big
thing on social media, reaction videos. But you'll dB, I
forgot to wish you a happy anniversary this week. I
know movies aren't in your lane, but it was this week.
Fifty years ago, the Seattle Seahawks got the thumbs up
(26:27):
from the NFL to be to be a franchise, right there,
fifty years celebrating your Seattle.
Speaker 3 (26:32):
Right It made their debut in nineteen seventy six YEP
as a member of the NFC, then jump to the
AFC the next year.
Speaker 1 (26:38):
There you go. You know what. I want to get
to DB's update. But based on that action movie question,
is there one that you haven't watched that you feel like,
at some point in your life you are going to
go back and watch, Like Mission Impossible Spot that's a
good one where I feel like maybe when you have one,
if you have time one day you're an old guy,
I feel like that's what I'm gonna do. When I'm
an old guy, I feel like I'll forever broadcast, but
(27:00):
maybe when I'm like real old a Big One podcast
a week and the rest of the week, I'll just
watch movies I never watched along the way.
Speaker 7 (27:05):
These are movies that are great to watch on a plane,
like when you if we're trying to catch up. I mean,
even though I believe action movies should be watched with
ultimate sound and picture.
Speaker 1 (27:13):
Doesn't that go against your Theorycus If I if I
set up going to New York and back, that's six
hours there, six hours back, I could bang out a
bunch of Mission impossible movies. But is that a crime
to watch it on your phone? But you know, if
you're not gonna if it's that, or don't watch it
at all. Yeah, I guess you're right. All right, let's
go to Dan Buyer for an update at the weekend
going early. What's up d me?
Speaker 3 (27:33):
Hey, guys, Well, I don't have any movies to provide.
I do have a lot of sports news, and it
starts in the NBA, where Danny Hurley reportedly is meeting
with the Lakers today, but we have no news on
how that meeting could go. As Hurley is interviewing and
speaking with the team about their head coaching vacancy. The
field of sixty eight did report that Yukon is trying
to up their contract offer too early, signed one less
(27:55):
than a year ago a new deal with them, but
that their money would not likely match with the Lakers
could put in the contract.
Speaker 1 (28:01):
Her at least feeling for the first time in his life,
a feeling, Let's be honest, not many of us will
ever feel. And that's like ultimate hot chick syndrome, where
like you did, the world is in front, like he
has all the options in the world, Like right now,
he has the power. Is there any job that would
get you to leave that sweet Yukon where he's in charge?
(28:23):
And if it was, it might be the Lakers, right yeah.
Speaker 3 (28:25):
I mean, heck, if he's talked about wanting to coach
in the NBA and it's the biggest brand that there is,
So why not with an opportunity to say that you
coach Lebron James, why not give it a shot?
Speaker 1 (28:36):
Dwind and dined. He's gonna have a good time, He's
gonna have a good time here. I'm sure they're gonna
show him the West Coast, show him with all that,
because think about it, when you're in Connecticut, you're a
little isolated.
Speaker 3 (28:45):
Well, it's also the fact of too of not how
random the nc DOUBLEA tournament is, but at times how
random the NCAA tournament can be. Yeah, they're back to back,
but who knows that they aren't susceptible to a first
round upset? And now maybe the luster is a little off,
Dan Hurley, if they were to get ousted.
Speaker 1 (29:00):
But we'll see. And you see it in college all
of college sports, Dan Bayer, where if you're the guy
you could last forever and the talent comes to you,
there's a lot of pressure coming to coach the Lakers.
It depends do you want that pressure. Sure, there's way
more pressure I think coaching the Lakers than you know,
having a perpetual tournament team every year in Connecticut.
Speaker 3 (29:19):
I think he's ready to say bring it on. It's
just how much money they're going to We'll see if
he wants to do it. WNBA Tonight, the Indiana Fever
and Caitlin Clark take on the Washington Mystics. Could be
a winnable game for the Fever. It's been quite the
week for Kitlyn Clark. Her team hasn't played since Sunday,
but it was what happened last Saturday that was all
the conversation this week on sports talk radio and social media.
(29:41):
He was Clark responding to that talk following the flagrant
foul from almost a week ago.
Speaker 10 (29:45):
Sometimes it stinks how much, you know, the conversation is
outside of basketball and not the product on the floor
and players that are on the floor and how good
they are for their teams, and how great this season
has been for women's basketball, going from college basketball to
now the WNBA. Some of the crowds are, you know, President.
Speaker 1 (30:01):
I hate that statement. I'll tell you why because I
really admire and respect Kaitlin Clark. But the drama and
the antics are what is going to help elevate her.
You know, the WNBA as a whole, What do we
always say about baseball? The average person wouldn't know Mike
Trout if you walked in front of you. Sure right.
Why does the NBA have this whole different level because
the players are personalities. The NFL, we talk about these guys,
(30:25):
lean into it. I'm saying the play on the court
is most important, but lean into the antics. Come on.
Speaker 3 (30:32):
The only problem is is she would likely be a
lone wolf because no teammates would ever back I. Now,
we'll see if they do tonight. We'll see if anything happens.
The play tonight French Open. Carlos Alcarez will face Alexander
Zverev in the men's final, coming up on Sunday. Chiefs
defensive lineman bj Thompson is awake, alert and response of
a day after suffering cardiac arrest during a special teams meeting.
Speaker 1 (30:53):
Yankees.
Speaker 3 (30:54):
One of Juan Solo in the lineup tonight against the
Dodgers out because of soreness in his forearm, and MRI
though came back showing that it is not believed to
be a significant injury. For Soto Super Regionals, Florida State
top to Yukon today twenty four to four. Dam's the
most run scored in a Super Regional game, and not
only that, the twenty run victory was the largest margin
(31:16):
of error ever in a Super Regional game. Tennessee one
game one of their best of three series against Evansville
and the Mike Tyson Jake Paul Fights been postponed until
November fifteenth. Scotti Scheffler a three shot lead after two
rounds of the memorial Rich back to you.
Speaker 1 (31:30):
Yeah, d B have a great weekend, man too. I
can hang out for a little while. I got some
time too. Oh nice, you look at that d B.
Think about what you're watching this weekend that we'll do
a little weekend hobbin next here on Covino and Rich

having fun today, It's Friday, Cavino and rich Kavinos. That
(32:38):
is daughter's middle school graduation. And you know what the
fun is When someone's out here you can talk about them. Yeah. Well,
everything happens for a reason. Everything happens for a reason.
And this was for you, Ben Stilla. I uh, I'm
just talking to Marry and Brie and listen. Covinos in
his forties, but he looks young, right brown, don't frown.
(33:01):
And they're like, has Cavino got work done? And I
said no. But that's an amazing rumor to start. So
everyone here at Fox Sports Radio, we got to start
the rumor that you know, we all know Cavino does botox.
They're like, yeh, it's okay, dude, we all know. No, Sure,
wait did to flight that spot? There's dangerous ground in
(33:22):
this in this town. Better rs to start. You know,
Caveno missed two weeks of school in high school. He's
told the story in the air. He missed two weeks
because something like I think there was like a death
in the family, plus he was sick. He came back
and all his Jersey friends started a rumor that he
only had one Hueva left. He had an accident, so
everyone looked at him and they're like number one. And
(33:43):
for a month, Cavin I was like, why is everyone
called me number one? It's because there was a rumor
that he only had one. You know, that's a better
rumor to start. Yeah, let's do that. Fine, fair enough,
Let's go to Kevin in New York State Fox Sports Radio.
We talked a little bit about everything today. We played
w NBA player or Chipotle worker. We talked about the
NBA Finals. We talked about Harrison Bucker, who everyone hated,
(34:05):
now is saving lives.
Speaker 4 (34:06):
What's up, keV, Hey, thanks for taking my call.
Speaker 1 (34:09):
Yeah. So we also talked about action movie franchises, because
number one this weekend is definitely gonna be Bad Boys.
And you have a thought on the Bad Boys franchise,
I do, so.
Speaker 4 (34:19):
I'm a huge action movie fan. Lethal Weapon was the
first franchise in my life. That's my age.
Speaker 1 (34:27):
But my best friend and.
Speaker 4 (34:28):
I saw the first one that came out, Bad Boys,
the original Love that fell in love with It's all
the second one. When the third one came out, you know,
decades later, we went and saw it with very low expectations,
but we were blown away by how good it was.
If you guys want the first two and haven't seen
the third one, you got to see it.
Speaker 1 (34:48):
Yeah, it made a ton of money. It made a
ton of money. And again, like I said, the fourth
one is out this weekend and we'll be definitely number
one in the box offense. And speaking of which, what
to watch this weekend in the world of sports and entertainment?
Let's do It's a weekend hob nab for the weekend.
Speaker 8 (35:03):
You're winning bets for talking points. If you get stuck socializing?
Speaker 3 (35:07):
You ever done anything dangerous?
Speaker 1 (35:08):
You ever dance with the devil?
Speaker 8 (35:09):
With the pale line? Friday brings us weekend, hob nobby.
Speaker 1 (35:15):
Well, what to watch in the world of sports and entertainment?
There's always something new, There's always something coming up. G
I'll can get to you to start off. If you
don't mind, what are you watching this weekend? Give me
some heads up? Well, first of all, props to Kevin
in New York State. There.
Speaker 2 (35:29):
I'm gonna put Bad Boys three on my list when
I have time because that was missing in the lineup
and sounds like he was high on it this evening.
Don't forget Pat Sajack's final time hosting Wheel of Fortune.
We talked all about it yesterday on Old School and
fifty Hits.
Speaker 1 (35:44):
There's a new episode of The Big Door.
Speaker 2 (35:46):
Prize on Apple TV, and of course Sunday evening the
NBA Finals Game two in Boston, and then on Disney
Disney Plus. Listen up Star Wars Nerds. I'm talking to
you Ramos Rahna. He'd be talking about this if he
were still here. The Acolyte Star Wars The Acolyte. They're
saying that this is a mystery thriller. It's gonna shock
(36:06):
and amaze you.
Speaker 8 (36:07):
Oh.
Speaker 2 (36:08):
It primarily follows a Jedi master who's investigating the unexplained
deaths of his fellow Force wielders. With a lot of
high praise on this series on Disney Plus.
Speaker 1 (36:17):
Nice. Now, if you're a fan of stand up comedy,
I'm a big fan. Love me some good laughs. I
prefer to sit down. You like to sign o very lazy.
You gotta be hear there. It is good. One spot
Joe Koy, who's a friend of ours. Love Joe Coy
really good, dude. He's got a new stand up special
on Netflix. You can check that out. I'm trying to
(36:38):
decide if I want to invest in this documentary, Dancing
for the Devil, about those TikTok dancing girls. I've heard
mixed reviews. Have you watched any of this? No? I haven't.
Speaker 3 (36:50):
Oh yeah yeah yeah, And my wife was interested, and
then she was kind of like, man, all right, I'm
over right.
Speaker 1 (36:55):
Yeah yeah. How about the Hitman and new movie that's
on on Netflix. Spot that's what the huge Glenn Powell.
Powell is a good actor. I like that. He's grown
on me quite a lot since Top Gun.
Speaker 5 (37:08):
To be clear, the hit Man this this is not
related at all to the video game series hit Man.
Speaker 1 (37:12):
Correct, it's not a documentary about breath the hit Man
heard either. No, Okay, I don't uh, I don't think so.
Speaker 3 (37:18):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (37:18):
And of course got Zilla Minus one, which everyone raved about.
That's available on Netflix. You could watch that at home.
I've caught up Danny g both episodes now of Clipped. Yes,
episode three is on Monday. I talked about this for
two Fridays in a row. Dude, it's uh, it's not
on until Monday, so it doesn't technically fall into weekend Hobnobbin.
(37:38):
But if you have not watched it on Hulu, Ed O'Neil,
the casting is great. Yeah, Ed O'Neill steals the show.
The guy who plays Doc Rivers. Yeah, you don't realize
that before the whole Donald Sterling and that woman v
before that all went down, I didn't know that Donald
Sterling was a difficult guy to work for. And they
(37:59):
portray like Dirk back from the minute, from the minute
Doc Rivers got here. I don't know how much this
is dramatized, but from the minute Doc Rivers, Yeah, Doc
Rivers came to the clippers, he was like writ in
a leaf.
Speaker 5 (38:11):
I remember people talking about it too. It's like it
was basically an open secret that this is more or
less a lifetime achievement award of just awful behavior, not
just from him, but like somehow Sterling's wife managed to
escape a lot of the controversy. She was part of
the whole redlining uh controversy that went on with his
like apartments dealings as well.
Speaker 1 (38:29):
Yeah, my wife and I were trying to decide do
most athletes get there's no excuse for h you know,
jerk behavior. But do you think a lot of athletes
and rich billionaires like that, do you think their wives
all have an understanding like well, we know he's gonna
do something or is that just despicable? And I was
I was leaning towards it happens a lot, but it's
still despicable.
Speaker 5 (38:49):
She got treated like a hero when when they gave
the franchise over to her for her to sell.
Speaker 1 (38:54):
Yeah, like, well, hey check that out. Clipped is really
good and you don't need to be a Clippers fan too,
and joy it. Let me throw one more thing and
then spot if there's anything else you want to add.
I reluctantly am saying this because I thought it looked awful.
But the reviews for j Loo's movie Atlas, I've heard,
I've heard mixed reviews, I've heard bad right, but then
(39:15):
it's saying it's breaking Netflix movie Recordsflix would say that
about a movie that's on Netflix. Yes, yeah, you one
of those people that don't believe in the trend, but
also like their metrics make no sense, Like it's just like, yeah,
this is a platform where movies just repeatedly immediately start
to play and they count that as.
Speaker 7 (39:31):
A view rich watches anything in the Netflix top ten. Yeah,
in my mind, I believe what Netflix is telling me.
Speaker 1 (39:37):
I believe it. Anything on your radar, Dan.
Speaker 3 (39:40):
Don't forget Super Saturday on Fox. I know I sound
like a company man. But Phillies, Mets from London, followed
by the Belmont Stakes, followed by Dodgers Yankees. So big
Fox is a busy, busy Saturday. A Super Saturday, Baseball
to the Ponies, back to baseball coming up on Saturday.
Speaker 1 (39:58):
On the that to put you on the spot. Damn viral.
Where is the I didn't even look. Where's the game
being played in London?
Speaker 5 (40:02):
Is it?
Speaker 1 (40:03):
Is it a traditional baseball field or they have a card? Yeah?
I saw.
Speaker 2 (40:08):
Hang on, don't forget the Oilers and the Panthers Stanley
Cup Game one tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (40:14):
Top of my list. What have you got in that series?
I like the Oilers.
Speaker 5 (40:19):
I think Con McDavid is one of the best players
I've seen in a very long time. At this point,
I know this is the second trip to the Stanley
Cup Finals for the Panthers, but my heart and my
brain are both with the Oilers.
Speaker 1 (40:30):
Here.
Speaker 7 (40:31):
By the way, this is tricky to remember. They're playing
at London Stadium in London.
Speaker 1 (40:36):
Where's London? Yeah, London Stadium in London, England. Will tell
Pete a Lonzo to put that in his GPS after
he gets his fish and chips and all the other
things he's more harried about.
Speaker 7 (40:48):
By the way, did you see the stacks that they're
the MLB specialty or they're having for the series. It's
two foot long hot dog with like it's a British
caught dog with like chili, cheese whatever.
Speaker 1 (41:03):
Or you can get a two foot long thing of nachos.
Speaker 7 (41:06):
You can also get fish and chips, and they're also
having local stuff so they'll up a Strami sandwich and
a cheese steak.
Speaker 1 (41:14):
Do you guys ever follow this account?
Speaker 5 (41:16):
There's an account on Twitter called Footy Scran and they
will show you like all the food that's at soccer stadiums,
especially in England. Half the time it's like really disgusting
stuff like meat pies and mushy peas and mint sauce.
Speaker 1 (41:28):
It's mushy pies. I wonder if they're gonna have those
mushy pies mushy Footy scran out of this. Well, hey, listen,
have a great weekend, enjoy everything going on in the
world of sports in entertainment, and don't forget a Game two.
As Danny G was saying before, Man, it would be
really nice Dallas if you stole Game two in Boston
and then we'd go back tied next week to Dallas.
(41:50):
So that's all tied up at one one. So anything
else you're watching this weekend in the world of sports
or entertainment, never hesitate to reach out, and don't forget.
Danny G puts out Best of the Week podcast.
Speaker 2 (42:01):
I was just gonna say CNR Best of the Week
Saturday morning at six a m.
Speaker 1 (42:06):
Eastern it comes out and we did an appearance on
The Fusco Show.
Speaker 7 (42:10):
Oh yeah, And I think a lot of people don't
start at a real show.
Speaker 1 (42:14):
I don't think they get it. What do you mean
funny that people are like people? Those guys are rude.
I'm like, don't you get it? Anyway? Check that out
if you want, will really Philly accent. Jeez, people are slow. Anyway,
We'll see you guys on Monday.
Speaker 7 (42:26):
Believe it or not, there are guys like that that
do actually exist.
Speaker 1 (42:30):
That is true. We'll enjoy that. I'll see you odd
couples up next. Until then, Rima there at you baby,
We will see you in the promise, laying goodbye Lada,
Happy Friday,
