VJ Husky filling in for Covino and Rich right now
at VJ.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
All eyes are in Las Vegas.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
Yeah, as it is a collection of talent that we
have seen rarely in terms of the Team USA. Where
to me, this is one of the better Team usas
that we have had in recent memory, which I guess
recent memories every four years, so I.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
Mean, how recent can it be?

Speaker 2 (01:00):
But I mean like Dream Team, Redeem Team, and this
one's up there for me when you look at the
accolades for all the different players and then everything of
that danger.

Speaker 3 (01:08):
Dream Team too. You can't leave that with that shot.
So I said Dream Team and Redeem Team. Oh I
thought that, But I thought the Redeem Team was was
the first year of Kobe game.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
I don't know, Okay, yeah, I thought yeah, I like.

Speaker 3 (01:19):
Dream Team won Dream Team to the Redeem Team, and
then they did it again because they won back to
back gold medals.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
This team, this teams, this seems good.

Speaker 3 (01:25):
There's a few guys on it that I could have
did without, and I would have replaced with something.

Speaker 2 (01:29):
I mean, to me, the only the only real question
on the rosters. You know, no offense, Tyree's Haliburton. What
are you doing here?

Speaker 1 (01:37):
Yeah? Especially over Jalen Brown? Over Jalen Brown, jal.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
Rie?

Speaker 1 (01:43):
How was Kyrie not on this team? You name it?
How is Kyrie not on this team?

Speaker 4 (01:48):
But?

Speaker 2 (01:49):
Uh, you know, the story from yesterday really was this
kid Cooper flag. Apparently he was everywhere doing everything. I
saw a video on Twitter have been the pointer over
Anthony Davis and the crowd went wild. Oh wait, it
was just practice, but it seemed like the timeline went wise.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
It's a lot of people at that practice. If you
look at the clips of the video. It's a lot
of damn people.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
Then it's enough to where you could probably piece together
the video to make it.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
Yeah, exactly. Yeah. But what was your thoughts about this
this Cooper Flag kid.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
Well, I'll be honest, I've seen about two minutes and
fifteen seconds total of Cooper Flag playing and it was
all yesterday on Twitter against Team USA.

Speaker 3 (02:29):
Now I've seen this stuff from high school.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
He's legit.

Speaker 3 (02:31):
Even though you see y'all got my Tar Hill gear
on today. He's committed to go to that school that's
down Tobacco Road and dorm. But not this kid. The
kids legit. I tell you, I tell you this. He
excites me more than when Cal when Kyle Philipowski was
first going to Duke. This kid's got the goods man,
and he's got when you're playing with other grown NBA
players and you're showing your worth and it's like, okay, dude,

(02:54):
get ready, like get ready to have him for a year,
because that's all you're getting him for.

Speaker 1 (02:58):
He's gone.

Speaker 3 (02:59):
He's probably gonna be a top three, top four pick.
But I like when young bucks going man and they
don't have no fear.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
You get. This is what you're there for you.

Speaker 3 (03:07):
These are the guys you're gonna be playing against going
into next season a year from now, anyway, So you
might as well show what you have.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
You might as well come in there.

Speaker 3 (03:16):
You might as well go at these guys, like you said,
hit the three over Anthony Davis. Not no pump faking
pass to somebody. No, bang that three right in his face.
That's an NBA champion right there. That's, in my opinion,
that's one of that's a top five, top six player
in the league right now, both ends of the floor
right now. Yeah, you want to drain that three in
his eye. So I my hat to him. Props to him, man,

(03:36):
Like I said, I separate the Duke Carolina thing for
right now because he's doing it for Team USA.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
How magnanimous. Former former military army man.

Speaker 3 (03:43):
Myself, it's all about the red, white and blue and
the stars and stripes, man.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
So I love it. I love seeing him there.

Speaker 3 (03:47):
But these stories, man, this goes back to where Weber
and those guys like the Fat Five were playing with
the Drew. We're practicing like with the Dream Team, Juwan Howard,
Chris Webber, those guys, they were practicing with the Dream Team,
and there was a story that they beat them in
a practice one day. Then they went to lunch and
what they were talking trash And they came back that
night to scrimmage and play again and got smoked, and

(04:11):
then got smoked for the rest of the time that
they were allowed to be there. And this was before
social media cameras. Always these are the stories you got
to get from Weber, Juwan Howard, all the guys, Jalen Rose,
all the guys that were invited, Shack that were invited
to go play there and and practice are with the kids.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
But I was impressed with him, man. But if you
if you Martin, if.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
You go YouTube his high school stuff, the kids legitimate.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
The kid's good. I mean, he's committed to duke like
I'm not expecting He's not Brownie James.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
I can expect him to be good like I expect
him to be, you know, at some level of talent.
If he's been talked about like this in the last
couple of years.

Speaker 1 (04:45):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
The thing I can't get away from this is this
is what's probably the biggest scrimmage of his life, the
biggest game of his life so far, and for you know,
Lebron and Anthony Edwards and Anthony Davis and the rest
of them. This was practice, so that there's a little
bit of you know, it's it's like a NASCAR driver
trying to race down the four or five or something

(05:06):
like that.

Speaker 3 (05:07):
Hold on, I'm not I'm not trying to downplay, I know,
but I pull back against the practice thing. I think
there's some of these players it is practice, Martin. But
I think some of these guys there, man, are there balling,
They're there at the bits practice.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
Yeah, but they're not going to treat it like practice.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
But he's Cooper Flagg was trying to make a stamp
and make a name for himself like this, like that
is his game seven, right, this is his probably the
most collected I mean no, it has to be. It
has to be the most collection of talent that he's
been on the court with that absolutely. So he's trying
to prove himself, That's what I'm saying. I mean, I
don't think Anthony Edwards out there trying to prove himself

(05:44):
in the same way. I mean, well, I should say
this's Anthony Davis or Lebron James. Yeah, he's trying to
prove themselves in the same man and said he did
a number one option, So he is there. He is
there trying to prove himself because he talked. He talking like, well,
let's go there, he's the show.

Speaker 1 (05:58):
Let's go there.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
Well all because everybody goes up at arms. What Anthony
Edward said, He's the number one option. They're gonna have
to play through me.

Speaker 1 (06:07):
He kind of look at the roster and he wondered, well, you.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
Know, I've seen several repetable people saying who's better Mark Martin.
I think there are players who were better, But I
just love the kids attitude.

Speaker 3 (06:15):
Make Martin, hey, listen. I'm all for Swag, I'm all
for Moxie. But there's a time and a place for
he should be treating this situation right now as a
He should not.

Speaker 1 (06:28):
Even be talking. Just just absorb. Absorb.

Speaker 3 (06:31):
You are with the greatest collection of basketball players. Now,
some other countries that I think are really good, but
the USA has the best talent that we're gonna put
on the court. And you did just get sent home
in five and you should probably have been swat but he.

Speaker 2 (06:45):
Was all, okay, but let's be honest, that's after sweeping
fiend being the defended chap I got you, So you
can't just said they got sent home at five like
they you know, like they lost in the first round.
That was that was the clipper. That that was mister
disrespect to Paul George. Yeah, who got sent home? Like
but still the fact is you you you haven't. You
haven't got too farms, you haven't want anything. You're still young.
We there are people who believe you're it. There are

(07:07):
people who believe you're the goods. There are people believe
you're next.

Speaker 1 (07:09):
I don't like the.

Speaker 3 (07:10):
Jordan comparisons because nobody's compared to Michael Jordan. So I
don't like anybody being compared to Michael Jordan. I just
thought this would be an opportunity for him to just
I'm gonna play chill.

Speaker 1 (07:19):
I'm gonna play back.

Speaker 3 (07:20):
He's gonna play on what two or three more Olympic
teams their first time around.

Speaker 1 (07:26):
Just just just just chill.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
But I mentioned this back during the playoff run on
our show Martin and VJ. It let it be organic.
I don't mind moxy, I don't mind swag, I don't
mind confidence. I like it though when it's a little
more organic. But sitting there with the hat cock that
I'm the nomber one. They gotta play through me. I'm
the number No, bro, shop me up, know of it.

(07:49):
Steph Curry's there. They're not playing through you, okayel oh old.

Speaker 1 (07:58):
Me and Steph Curry and Kyles at the same time.
He ain't over for the world.

Speaker 3 (08:01):
Oh my god, Steph Curry, Steph Curry, it's still a
top What where you put him in the league right now?

Speaker 1 (08:07):
We're Steph Curry in the league right now, top ten.

Speaker 3 (08:09):
Old, come on, man, you're not and nothing's running through you. Bro,
be be humbled. Be humbled on this one. It's okay.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
Can you got plenty of time for moxie, You got
plenty of time for confidence. I just believe that this
next three weeks it's okay. And you show Vets a lot,
you show you think that's like hearing that. No, No,
they didn't. Who give us a good damn the Vets.
I tell you the Vets. Do something about the Vets. Yeah, yeah, yeah,

(08:39):
that's what he was doing, ran the ferry, Roy Curry,
Will Curry will to Hey, that's what he was doing
to Kevin Durant and Devin Booker in the first round
of play.

Speaker 3 (08:47):
Well, Kevin look, Kevin dur Look, Kevin Durant might be done.
I mean after the news I just saw. I mean,
you know, I'm not saying it's a slight calf string. Yeah,
I know he's expecting not to miss too much time.
But here's the thing, Anthony Edwards. Remember that remember last.

Speaker 2 (09:02):
Year, last year we were we were having a conversation
about the World Cup and I said I expected Anthony
Edwards to take a massive step forward after playing an
international play. You see that sometimes guys go playing the Olympics,
they coming to the next season, they're just straight killers.

Speaker 3 (09:16):
The best guy in the World Cup, he probably the
best player. He's the best player to the world.

Speaker 2 (09:19):
But you know, the plan initially was for him to
come off the bench for the feb for the people
people were a cup last year.

Speaker 1 (09:27):
That was coming on this team from all the old guys.
I think so too.

Speaker 2 (09:31):
But you know, as my dad used to tell me
in my career, it doesn't matter who starts, matters who finished.

Speaker 1 (09:36):
Who finishes, But he won't be finishing. He won't be
finishing stopping.

Speaker 2 (09:40):
This is what he had to say when Steve Kerr
was going to bench him or I said, bench him
like he was never gonna play. It was gonna have
Anthony Edwards be the sixth man on the Feeble World
Cup team. He goes, quote, I mean, of course, I
wasn't cool with it. If that's what it takes, I'm
willing to do it, but I'm never going to be
cool with it. And then he said, curse said Dwayne

(10:02):
Wade came off the bench when Kobe played. I was like,
all right, we don't have a Kobe, but all right,
and it was cool. And then within one practice he
was from that bench into the.

Speaker 1 (10:14):
Starting lineup ended up being the best player on the team.

Speaker 2 (10:16):
Okay, well, I signed me up for unbridled, unmitigated, unwarranted confidence.

Speaker 1 (10:22):
I love it.

Speaker 3 (10:23):
There's a time Atdocio talk Yo, stuff boy. There's a
time and a place for everything. There's a time to
be cocky, there's a time to have a little arrogance
in life, and there's a time to just have a
humble confidence. I don't mind, Moxie, I don't mind, but
these three weeks, this is the perfect time for him

(10:45):
to really just chill. We know you a baller, but
these guys have championships. You're playing with guys that have
hoisted the Larry O'Brien multiple times. Lebron's got four, STEP's
got four, Katie's got two. You're playing with dudes that
won rings. Bro, take this time right now. You could
go back to being cocky arrogant in August, but right

(11:08):
now I would like for him to just soak this
moment in. Kyrie made this mistake. Remember when he challenged
Kobe one on one at the USA practice and was
talking all that tracks if Kobe got pissed at one point,
like you better talk to your dad, all right, Bro?
He was like, no, I'm not trying to be a
little kid like h. I want to play coke. And
then the clip goes to when they finally met each
other on the court and he shut Kyrie like, Bro,

(11:31):
but you could have just took a humble route and
avoided that embarrassing moment of the King saying, hey, homeboy,
just you know, just we'll see if an embarrassing moment
happens for Anthony Edwards or if he read.

Speaker 1 (11:43):
Step and STEPH gonna drop forty five on him.

Speaker 3 (11:46):
STEPH gonna drop forty five on STEPH, gonna have forty
plus on Minnesota one game next.

Speaker 1 (11:50):
Year, there's anything, Well, I'm not talking about in Minnesota
next year.

Speaker 2 (11:53):
I'm talking about in the next three weeks. As these
exhibition games play, he'll get So there's one thing that
we definitely know.

Speaker 1 (12:00):
Of course, it's good.

Speaker 2 (12:00):
I mean everybody's gonna play in exhibition games. And I
think Anthony eg was just squarely a part of this rotation.

Speaker 3 (12:05):
Yes, everybody's a part of rotation every day, Like, everybody's
gonna play, even they're gonna be some teams. You see
the group on Tyre's Haliverton is on the team. Yeah,
but you see that. No, he's gonna he's gonna get
some run at the point. But do you see the
group they're in. They're gonna They're gonna crush this group.
I don't think they'll face any challenge unless they go
up against France or Canada.

Speaker 2 (12:23):
I think francross the Olympics. You gotta win in every
game by twenty No. I said they'd have an average
margin of victory by twenty of twenty. They gotta win
a game by twenty then pretty much that that could happen.
They're also going to person by forty in the second
one by ten. Yeah, okay, so thirty in the second
one by ten and theory, I feel you if they're
gonna have an average winn tween, they're not gonna win
a game, buty. I Just like I said, I think

(12:45):
Canada and I think France have a chance to give
them some Canada has a squad and Dylan Brooks is
already talking, he's already geared up for that.

Speaker 1 (12:54):
We should not lose a game. I have.

Speaker 2 (12:57):
The only team that I would even think would push
it close, all due respect to our neighbors up.

Speaker 1 (13:02):
North, would be France. France.

Speaker 2 (13:04):
That's it, because because there's literally nobody in the world
who can guard Victor wibin Young if he's going.

Speaker 1 (13:11):
Off in the way that I assume that they will
go off.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
And they're used to the rules over there and all that,
all the funny rules five fouls, technical fouls or personal fouls,
they're short quarters, all those goaltending lay is weird, all
that stuff.

Speaker 1 (13:23):
They're used to that over it.

Speaker 3 (13:24):
I and I thought I and I thought about that,
brought that on a podcast two nights ago, that if
they're gonna officiate the game like they do internationally, if
the USA ever gets into a game where their jumper
is not falling and they just can't drive and get
to the bucket, it could be problems. It's a good team,
not a get in there against you know, but it's

(13:45):
a good team.

Speaker 1 (13:46):
They get to a game where their jumpers not.

Speaker 3 (13:48):
Falling and they can't just carry it walk like we
do here in America, they're gonna call travel in the Olympics.
They're gonna call They're gonna call carrying the Olympics. I've
seen them do it. If they're gonna if they can't
just get to the hole and just put their showed
it down and run over people. I'm just saying I
don't think they'll lose a game, but average margin of
twenty three of these Olympics, we'll see, and I don't know,

(14:10):
if I make my words, Anthony Edwards will have a
memorable moment from this whole Olympic run.

Speaker 1 (14:15):
Oh, it's gonna be a that's gonna be some type
of dunk or something. Yeah, of course, brutalized Rudi Goberro
on the dunk.

Speaker 3 (14:20):
I can't wait. I can't wait go down his teammate, babe.
Maybe I'll just run through his chest like Kobe did.

Speaker 2 (14:27):
Pow Maybe, yeah, maybe, who knows, number one option, he's
the number one option doing.

Speaker 1 (14:32):
That type of stuff.

Speaker 2 (14:33):
We'll see, We'll see man coming up next. This quarterback
was a little bit out of sight, out of mind,
but he says that's over with. He's got something. He's
gonna give you something to talk about your guy and
we'll talk about him. Coming up next. Martin Wis's VJ.

Speaker 6 (15:07):
But instead of us telling you how great we are,
here's how Dan Fackrick described us when he came on

Speaker 3 (15:12):
Quick, knowledgeable and funny, opinionated.

Speaker 1 (15:16):
What you do indrupting our promo? Yeah, it wasn't talking
about you.

Speaker 5 (15:20):
You took those clips totally out of context.

Speaker 6 (15:23):
Oh yeah, Well, after this promo, I'm gonna take you
out and beat you.

Speaker 1 (15:27):
Let me put this into context. Shut up.

Yeah, anyway, just listen to the Polly and Toni Fousco

Speaker 2 (15:36):
Yeah, Martin Weiss and j Husky broadcasting live from the
tire Raq dot com studios, filling in for Corvino and
Rich here on Fox Sports Radio VJ. You know, what's
out of sight out of mind generally, especially in today's
society in which you know, we got the social media's
and all that, it's a lot easy to forget people

(15:57):
who are not directly in front of your face. Sorry,
the cousins I haven't called for their birthdays. Joe Burrow says. Oh,
let's hear what Joe Burrow had to say.

Speaker 1 (16:09):
Do you think people have forgotten about Joe Burrow?

Speaker 2 (16:11):
I believe that that's what happens when you get hurtough
you don't play football, people forget about you.

Speaker 1 (16:15):
But again, that's part of the game.

Speaker 4 (16:17):
You don't If you're not out there and people aren't
watching you, then there's nothing to talk about.

Speaker 1 (16:22):
Yeah, so I'm gonna get people to talk about something
to talk about this year. Well, I'm excited about it.

Speaker 2 (16:28):
That was all from part in my take on barstool
sports there, how do you feel about him?

Speaker 1 (16:34):
Asking? Do not have people forgot about?

Speaker 2 (16:36):
You have people forgot about Joe Burrow like he's talking
to somebody else.

Speaker 3 (16:40):
Oh, because Joe Burrow is an entity within himself and
you know it. The man was just on I'm not
sure what design. I don't know if it was Gucci
or Louis VAZONI, but he was over and I think
Europe repair. Yeah, at France at a big time fashion show,
wearing a back out suit jacket. Okay, which was bad.
Don't do that again, Joe. But I get it. As
that fashion world, they do a lot of weird stuff.

(17:01):
So no, he Joe Burrow probably says, Joe Burrow, you know.

Speaker 1 (17:04):
What I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (17:05):
Like Deon Sanders talked in the third person. Dwayne Johnson
the Rock talks in the third person like they're people
talking the third But Joe Horn talked in the third
person after he pulled the telephone, the cell phone from
underneath the remember Cola post and.

Speaker 1 (17:20):
He was like, you know, Joe Horn is gonna do
with Joe Horn. He talks.

Speaker 3 (17:23):
So I believe that's why he felt like he had
to say that because that's probably how Joe Burrow uh
talks about himself. I thought the question was valid because
it is true when you do get hurt, you are
forgotten about, even in the facility because you can't you
can't help us, like you can't do anything for us,
like you you know, it gets I've heard pro athletes,
former pro athletes, and Kurt probably say that when you're

(17:44):
hurting your rehabit man it is. It can't take a
toll on your mental your mental state, stability, and your
mental health because you are forgot the head coach, bro,
he's not thinking about He's got a game to get
ready for this Sunday, and they don't have you. So
there's nothing, there's nothing that there's no reason for them
to miss they don't have you. We got to go
out here, we got to play. So I thought it
was a very valid question and I loved how he

(18:05):
answered it. Yeah, okay, yeah, of course, but that's what
happens when you get when you get hurt. But I'm
gonna give them something to talk about this year. You
and I started talking about our way too early NFL preview.

Speaker 1 (18:16):
We think the AFC.

Speaker 3 (18:17):
North is a coin flip between them and the Ravens.
I think Joe Burrow should bounce back, but he has
had two injuries, two injury type seasons in his career
since he's been He also got hurt in college too.
That's why you transfer from Ohio State down or just
to LSU. But I'm excited. I'm excited Joe Burrow's back.
I need Herbert back. The AFC's loaded, you got two

(18:38):
of thees's contract, Lamar's coming off of MVP. Josh Allen
still Josh Apple turnover Allen, but he can still run
over people.

Speaker 1 (18:45):
He can still throw four a bunch of yards.

Speaker 3 (18:47):
He doesn't have his main receiver anymore, lost big game
Gabe Davis also, So I'm excited.

Speaker 1 (18:52):
But for Joe Burrow, man, I don't have a problem.

Speaker 3 (18:54):
With him saying this. He was asked honest question. He
answered it honestly. Yeah, I mean I love it.

Speaker 1 (18:58):
I love it.

Speaker 2 (18:59):
I don't think he's got We know that it would
be pretty inconsistent for me to be talking about how
much I love Anthony ever saying he's the number one
option and they say Joe Burrows out.

Speaker 1 (19:06):
Of his skis no.

Speaker 2 (19:07):
But I do think like he's one of the best
quarterbacks in the game went healthy, Yes, and I think
there's no doubt about that.

Speaker 1 (19:13):
The question is can he stay healthy?

Speaker 2 (19:14):
And like, I think the injury concerns are a little
overblown and that the injuries that he's had have been
season ending injuries. It's not like he I think that's
kind of freakish. Like, I think there's more along the like,
I don't expect Anthony Richardson to like miss five games
next year. If you have a season against injury, you
just kind of bad luck in my opinion. Well, the calf, well,

(19:36):
I push back on that a little bit, the calf injury.
It's the first day of training camp and all he's
doing is a simple thing.

Speaker 1 (19:42):
But how many times.

Speaker 2 (19:45):
And the calf gets blowing, their blowing their achilles or
tearing the a cl first week of training camp. I
mean that happened Jaylen Ramsey had the meniscus tear and
training no contact, just trying to well, actually he's trying
to cover Tyree, Tyree, put a move. Don't do that
to your teammates this year, ty We need Jalen Ramsey
all year long.

Speaker 1 (20:01):
But no, I did.

Speaker 3 (20:03):
The injury thing I think is real because you can't
you can't just brush it away.

Speaker 1 (20:08):
If he's hurt. He's hurt.

Speaker 3 (20:09):
And I said, he's got to be consistent across the
board because I hear about injury concerns for this guy.
If this guy's for this, okay, Well, this guy's missed
time in two seasons and then one yea in his career,
he had two season ending injuries. If you're missing injury
all right, Well, to me, injury prone is when you're
missing a week here, they're a week here.

Speaker 2 (20:29):
Injury concerns then, yeah, are missing a week here, a
week there. To me, it's not if you're missing like
if you get something that knocks you out for the
entire year, then you know that was pretty much a
freak accidents.

Speaker 3 (20:40):
When you're looking at quarter I don't want him knocked out.
I want the best. I want to watch. Give me
the best on TV for me to sit my lazy
ass on the sofa and watch on so. I want
the best guys. I don't want no top quarterbacks out.
I don't want any top receivers out, or any top
rushing or d lin game changing guys. Lord, football guys,
please give that to us this year, not me. Everybody
ain't you lose some backups or some other dude codes.

(21:02):
But the stars we need Joe Burrow, like, like you said,
he's one of the best quarterbacks. I got him definitely
in the top five. I don't know where he falls,
maybe three possibly for me. I mean, Holmes is unsaid.
We already know who number one is, and I think
it's just depended upon what you like and who you like.

Speaker 1 (21:23):
I have Lamar. That's the thing. He's the closest thing
to arrival that Patrick Mahomes had. Oh yeah, his name twos.

Speaker 2 (21:28):
You know, there's still a long gap between there. Yeah,
but he's the closest to arrival. Yeah, when you look
around the other quarterbacks in the league, like they tried
to make that thing happen with Josh Allen. But the
thing about the rivalries, the other team has to win sometimes.

Speaker 1 (21:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (21:42):
And the thing is they keep scheduling the Chiefs and
the Bills. They just they keep doing even if they
don't play, even if that's not the off AFC division
that the AFC East plays, they still make sure you
get the sense that you get the Chiefs and the Bills.
But once again, you gotta put the stars on the
field against each other at some point point, regardless of
what division or what conference they playing, Like, I need

(22:05):
San Francisco against the Chiefs like that should be.

Speaker 1 (22:08):
That should be a a regular season game.

Speaker 3 (22:11):
They gotta play an AFC division anyway, even if it's
not the NFC West.

Speaker 1 (22:15):
Okay, one of those other off games. Make it.

Speaker 3 (22:18):
Give me the two teams that played in the super Bowl.
Give me the two best teams. I need the Stars
playing against each other, going to San Francisco.

Speaker 1 (22:25):
Well, Cincinnati winning this Levi Stadium and beat them last year.

Speaker 3 (22:29):
Yeah, yeah, beat drum, beat them like a drum. Baltimore
went in there and beat them like a But I
need but that's what I need. At least give me
the game. At least let me see it. Don't make
me have to wait til the playoffs or the Super
Bowl to see the top teams playing against the top guy,
especially the quarterback position.

Speaker 2 (22:44):
Just thought about this when I was talking about the
you know, the other team has to win sometimes with
the Bills and the Chiefs. Man, you know, like in
a regular season, we're like eight Sundays away from complainings
like offsides and substitutions and running.

Speaker 1 (23:00):
Back referee mistakes. That's a cat. Yeah, that's a cat.
Oh yeah, cat. Oh man, I can't. It's football season now,
it's football season.

Speaker 3 (23:11):
Now. No more basketball tall, that's it, no more basketball tall.

Speaker 1 (23:14):
We got the Olympics. The Olympics are great. We got
the Olympics.

Speaker 3 (23:16):
Are gonna that's gonna help us feel some airtime. But
let's get real. July twenty third, first team starts the report.

Speaker 1 (23:22):
It's on.

Speaker 3 (23:23):
It's on when guys start walking in with the rolling suitcases,
walking in with the gym bags over their shoulders and
the flip flops and the team shirt and the team
shorts and scanning their their scan card to get in,
Like Martin, I got down.

Speaker 1 (23:36):
It's on.

Speaker 2 (23:36):
Yeah, I said, no more basketball talk, but coming up
next we will talk basketball and the divorce again the
Splash Brothers. Hey Clay Thomps at his introductory press We're
gonna talk about that coming up next.

Speaker 5 (23:50):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in

Speaker 3 (24:01):
Did you really hit us with the the technical technical
club that was in my rave days, Martin when I
used to.

Speaker 1 (24:09):
Rave you never. You've never raved in your life? Are you?

Speaker 3 (24:13):
Let me tell you something, man, I'm one of the
most diverse people, if not the diverse guy here at
Fox Sports Radio. Yes, I have gone to techno parties
and raves in Georgetown and Washington, d C. I had
a bunch of different type of friends, nationality people.

Speaker 1 (24:25):
Took in a concert.

Speaker 3 (24:27):
It wasn't a concert. It's just like a big warehouse
club and it's a raven. People are in there popping
ecstasy pills and there's lasers and people with the gloves sticks.

Speaker 1 (24:34):
I was, I w wasn't. I didn't have no glow sticks.
I'm not.

Speaker 3 (24:36):
You're not gonna paint that picture about me. I didn't
have no glow sticks. But I've been to plenty of
them dude things. When I'm my early twenties, I'm hanging
out with my boys that went to college in DC,
with the GW with the Georgetown come on Go Go
music out there. Yeah, I love me some Go Go
You want to step away?

Speaker 1 (24:50):
I suppose I love me, love me some Go Go music.
I miss it.

Speaker 2 (24:55):
I have an opinion on techno music that I don't
think is very I don't know.

Speaker 1 (25:00):
I'm trying let me soft launch it here. See how
it goes.

Speaker 2 (25:04):
Techno to me is the act of taking good music
and making it worse.

Speaker 1 (25:09):
Wow, Like you hear like the.

Speaker 2 (25:11):
Version of a song like why did they take They'll
take a song that already exists and then just add
and all of a sudden it's supposed to be like better?

Speaker 1 (25:20):
Was that a sideshot at Go Go? You just did? No,
I'm just talking, I know, but Go Go does you know?

Speaker 5 (25:26):
Go Go?

Speaker 3 (25:26):
Does the Go Go they'll do they'll do like a
current song, but they'll just do it to a Go
Go beat.

Speaker 1 (25:33):
Yeah, and the lead singer.

Speaker 3 (25:34):
Doesn't sound nothing like you know, uh, the original song,
but it's it's a it's a d MV thing man
junk yard baby.

Speaker 1 (25:40):
Really. The only type of how do you even phrase that?
It's not a remix?

Speaker 3 (25:45):
Really, because it's like, no, it's not a remix, or.

Speaker 2 (25:47):
At least not the remixes that we grew up with.
That was when the rapper will come on with a
whole new verse to the same beat. Yeah, with a
couple of cameo other rappers. It's just like, I don't know,
like a music, I don't know, switch up or whatever.
The only one I really care for is Rolling in
the Deep the Bounce Music Edition from Adele So.

Speaker 3 (26:05):
Favorite remix rap song go ever, I mine's quite Flavoring.

Speaker 1 (26:09):
Your Air, Yeah, I don't have just off the top
of my head.

Speaker 3 (26:12):
Flavoring your Ear remix with Biggie l L Bussell rohms.

Speaker 1 (26:17):
The One Blood remix was pretty good. Yes it was.

Speaker 2 (26:20):
Yes, it was long too some of the parties involved.

Speaker 3 (26:24):
Yes, it was the one Blood mix that's like twenty
years old now.

Speaker 1 (26:28):
At this point. Yeah, that's a good one Blood. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (26:33):
Scenario remix too for you old heads like in my
age group. The Scenario Remix so I was like eight
minutes long, but it's great.

Speaker 1 (26:40):
So h Yes.

Speaker 2 (26:42):
Klay Thompson remixed the rest of his career, leaving Golden
State Yeah to join the Dallas Mavericks. We got it again.
It's crazy working during the day. All right, Let's hear
what Clay Thompson had to say.

Speaker 4 (26:54):
I'm very grateful for my time at Golden State, but
I just felt like moving on could just re energize
me and do something special for the rest of my career.
Dallas was so attractive because of the young players. They
have the style of play the world class treatment these
players get from this organization, and just a beautiful city

(27:16):
who loves their hoops. When I was watching the playoffs
and I'm watching the Mask, you know, make a run
for the championship, I just saw myself fitting in really
well with this team and the personnel, and they look
like they have fun playing with each other, and they
play for each other, and that was very attractive for me.
And that's really all I needed to see. And there's
mutual interest there and that's why I'm here.

Speaker 1 (27:35):
I mean, now, you know who could have took a
lesson from that? Right there? I don't want to hear it? PG.

Speaker 2 (27:42):
Oh wow, PG, there you go, buddy. Well that's how
you do it. You know, that's how you do it.
The Klay Thompson pod is not nearly as popular. That's
how you do it, PG, if it exists at all,
just anyway, go ahead. But I'm just saying, PG, if
you want to know how to do it, brother, right there? So,
but reading between the lines, there are listening between the lines,
there are several like moments of how well they treat

(28:05):
players here?

Speaker 1 (28:06):
Oh god, here you go? Am I wrong? Am I wrong?
You go? Am I wrong? Trying to start trouble. Man,
here you go, he said, quote feeling like feeling just
feeling wanted.

Speaker 2 (28:16):
Again, just feeling wanted again. Get some excited to go
out there. I'm telling you.

Speaker 1 (28:22):
They wanted him, but not at the number he wanted.

Speaker 2 (28:25):
Klay Thompson is about to They wanted him about as
much as the Clippers wanted Paul George, which is not
at all.

Speaker 3 (28:30):
I think they wanted him more than the Clippers wanted
Paul George. I think gotis they wanted Clay more than
the Clippers wonted Paul George.

Speaker 1 (28:37):
Well, you know what both of them lost, only what
could what could they have done to keep?

Speaker 4 (28:44):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (28:44):
Wait, I know how much you pay the man not playing?
Neither man I have Draymond. You're not gonna go with
Draymond punch on this one.

Speaker 2 (28:50):
I mean that was a mistake, okay for the Warriors.

Speaker 1 (28:55):
W I think Draymond punched Jordan Pool on purpose.

Speaker 2 (28:58):
The mistake was when the Warriors then said, this is
the biggest thing that's ever happened ever and then just
paid him, you know, four years, one hundred million dollars.

Speaker 1 (29:06):
One million.

Speaker 3 (29:07):
Here's a hundred million dollars for punching your teammate.

Speaker 2 (29:10):
And then you know Andrew Wiggins. Who anyone Wiggins? Anyone?

Speaker 3 (29:16):
Yeah, I'm Wiggins, anyone, Bueler, I'm I'm I'm not sure
how this Clay thing's gonna work out. I told you
on Saturday.

Speaker 1 (29:26):
I am.

Speaker 3 (29:26):
I am trying to graduate in advance out of the
mind of in this business. When a big name guy
in the middle of the end of.

Speaker 2 (29:34):
His career moves on, we still think that we're gonna
get that guy that we remember him as. And all
I keep seeing in my head still is over ten
in three for nineteen in the last two games that
meant the most, that ended their seasons, and even over

(29:54):
the last two years.

Speaker 1 (29:55):
This is not new guys. Clay is up and down
on both ends of the floor.

Speaker 3 (30:02):
I like it that he doesn't have to be the guy.
He's not even the two here, he's the three. It's
playing and simple.

Speaker 1 (30:09):
He's the three.

Speaker 3 (30:10):
But Clay, I always thought the injuries got mental to him.
I always thought it was a mental thing. Which happens.
All right, you blow your ACL in a year, you
probably could go win your fourth championship, which means the
second one against bald, the one against Balston would have
been their fifth championship.

Speaker 1 (30:26):
And then the rehab.

Speaker 3 (30:27):
Coming back, You're on the court, you're working out, you're
feeling good, and then you tear your achilles.

Speaker 1 (30:31):
I can only imagine what that would do to a guy.

Speaker 3 (30:35):
Now, some people have the mental capacity to fight through
it and get through it, and some people they just
fall into this slump and this mental stupor.

Speaker 1 (30:45):
And I thought that happened to him.

Speaker 3 (30:46):
Then he starts going back at people and going back
at fans at games and talking to people in the
state that was never Clay before. And I hear the
noise and when you say, like, right there, they you know,
treat people or want to treat people, do want to
be wanted? It did. When I hear that type of talk,
it's like, Bro, they paid you a Max Dillon.

Speaker 1 (31:06):
You missed two years on that deal. It is what
it is. It's business at this point.

Speaker 3 (31:10):
So I liked what he said, you trying to start
trouble by digging in between the lines.

Speaker 1 (31:15):
Hey, I'm not digging it.

Speaker 2 (31:17):
I thought he said that it was twenty points a game,
thirty eight point seven percent on high volume from three behind, Like.

Speaker 1 (31:23):
He still can play.

Speaker 2 (31:25):
He's still valuable and you know what, he didn't do
punch his teammate. You know what he also didn't do
go a woll for two years. And you know what,
the Warriors did pay those two guys instead of Klay Thompson.
That like the story, it never goes like this. But
the Cinderella story is Clay and Steph going off into
the sunset course.

Speaker 1 (31:44):
That's how this probably should.

Speaker 2 (31:46):
Have gone right if they if the Warriors had handled
it appropriately. But again, we saw this coming from a
mile away and I told you when it happened. And
this is why Bob mys is on TV now.

Speaker 3 (31:57):
Because he didn't want to make you did didn't want
to make these He didn't want to make these decisions
because he knew this boat was cooked and he was trying.

Speaker 1 (32:04):
To get off of it.

Speaker 3 (32:06):
I like I said, I I love Clay Man. I
you know, I think he's gonna have a great mama
call him Clay. I called him Clay. I've always been
a fan of Klay Thompson. I just think that we
probably have seen the even the back end of the
best of Klay Thompson. If if they go in to
this year, he plays well during the regular season and

(32:26):
then he just kind of pressure.

Speaker 1 (32:28):
He feels the pressure.

Speaker 3 (32:29):
Can you imagine let's just say a second round matchup
between Dallas and Golden State, the type of pressure it
won't The pressure won't be on Golden State the beating
knocked him out.

Speaker 1 (32:39):
The pressure will be of all. Golden State is not
going to make the playoffs this year. I mean secondly, yeah,
I don't know about that. You know who knows.

Speaker 2 (32:49):
Who didn't make it. This team won eleven road games
two years ago.

Speaker 1 (32:53):
I get it.

Speaker 3 (32:54):
They didn't make it on the share team anymore. Clay,
let me ask you this, just to go to go
State real fast? Can Ken Draymond put it together just
for one last productive good and not get suspended. So
he's gonna do something this year? What what do you think?
Ten games, another ten, another twelve games or something. He
does something and then maybe go to State. Just say
all right, brother, you know what we're done.

Speaker 5 (33:16):
Go.

Speaker 1 (33:17):
I don't think they say they're done. They check.

Speaker 2 (33:18):
I mean, there's to me, there's not anything worse that
you could do to cole Cock your teammate within reason, right,
and it's not like illegal or you know what I'm saying,
Like within reason, there's nothing to me that if they
were gonna move on, that was the time.

Speaker 4 (33:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (33:34):
Now you just might say, you know, if it's a lie,
we fight on that line.

Speaker 3 (33:38):
No, I still think they could cut if Draymond acts
up this year. I could still see them saying, you
know what, buddy, here's your money. And the good business people,
when they know they made a mistake, you don't double down,
You go ahead and cut your lost.

Speaker 2 (33:50):
I think the quiet part out loud is the Warriors
have struggled in the good business department when you look
at their draft picks, the whole two timeline strateg and
this is the culmination of that. And we already outlined
the people that they decide to pay the money to.
UH Andrew Wiggins and Draymond Green come up next. This

(34:12):
guy voted the best player on Team USA. I have
a feeling that VJ is gonna disagree with Martin Weiss
VJ Husky and for Coveno on Rich Fox Sports Radio.

Rack dot Com Studios VJ.

Speaker 1 (34:43):
Let's go back to Vegas. Hold on to listen to
this thought. Do you hear this? Hey guy, Hey, you
got nice move? Nice move? I would say technical techno
that nice move, baby, nice move? Maybe again again.

Speaker 2 (34:58):
I'm like this, thank you particuarly fine song because little
energy and making it worse. The second a perfectly find
song of making your word my nah?

Speaker 1 (35:10):
Where'd you sand Where'd you find this in our vast
system tunes? Go ahe hit the delete button on that?
Oh Man perfectly played that much better. I don't know, fai,
it doesn't sound that bad.

Speaker 2 (35:27):
It doesn't sound that good. Like the song was fine.
The song was fine. It's like taking out on you.
I can't even like taking a peanut butter sandwich. A
peanut butter and jelly sandwich is adding mustard. It was
fine the way it was. Mustard looks fine in other places,
but why would you put it on a peanut butter
and jelly.

Speaker 3 (35:42):
So I feel that way about bacon, egg and cheese
more than sandwich and people added avocado. I feel that
way about a bacon, a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich.
It's fine by itself, bage old croissant, quissant, excuse me
toast whatever. But when they started to add alvocado and
call it California style.

Speaker 2 (36:00):
Well, California obsession with avocado is something that probably needs
to be study.

Speaker 3 (36:06):
Pineapples on pizza. The pizza's fine, it was the top
ends were fine. So you understand techno music, then no,
because I'm glad.

Speaker 1 (36:14):
I'm glad we came together on this. I'm glad we
reached the consensus. P your pizza. No, I'm a grown man, Okay,
thank you. I just make it sure. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (36:23):
I'm still finding out things about you and we're going
on to the ear three of our show come in October.
I'm just still find just I gotta know. I'm with you.

Speaker 1 (36:29):
And one thing, I do.

Speaker 2 (36:30):
Not subscribe to the concept of trying to take things
that are unhealthy and like sneaking.

Speaker 1 (36:38):
Trying to make them, trying to make them healthy. Yeah,
I don't. I don't. I don't subscribe to that.

Speaker 3 (36:44):
Leave me out of it, like people who substitute hummus
for mayonnaise on their sandwich.

Speaker 1 (36:48):
I've seen that. Oh it's healthier. Yeah, but it's it's
hummus if you just put the mayo on it. Just
put the mayo on it. I do both. You're a madman. Wow. Yeah,
now you're crazy. You do both.

Speaker 2 (37:00):
See, that's what happens when you're from the Midwest. You
do stuff like this.

Speaker 1 (37:04):
Are your Helman's?

Speaker 3 (37:05):
Are a miracle whip guy, because there's two types of
what about best foods.

Speaker 1 (37:10):
That's a good brand, okay, but that's like.

Speaker 3 (37:12):
Helman that's you know, mann EI's Helman's. Because miracle whip
is something miracle whip. I like the taste of it, yes,
but I don't buy it often. I go for your
traditional male. I don't think I've ever bought mayonnaise ever,
had life ever man sandwiches or anything like that.

Speaker 1 (37:28):
The only one would be a po boy, which is
like an addressed po boy. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (37:34):
So, were we all in agreeance that Lebron James is
the best player on the US national team? Straw Pole
from Olympic camp participants conducted by the Athletics said, so,
who so who?

Speaker 3 (37:45):
I saw the headline and I scrolled who did they act?
Just fill me on the that part.

Speaker 2 (37:50):
It says a straw pole of Olympic camp participants.

Speaker 3 (37:54):
You know what, first of all, Lebron shouldn't even be
on this team. He shouldn't Lebron should be on this
team ronting the stack accolades at this point for his
go argument. That's the only reason why he's about the turn,
because he's about to be forty. That's why top that's why,
that's why Lebron not a top ten. That's why he's
been playing the Olympics, says, Oh, for just let me
get this up. Been playing on Olympics says oh.

Speaker 2 (38:14):
I've been, You've had, You've had, You've had your your
your shine.

Speaker 3 (38:19):
This is this is what I think he's honestly, sadistically
trying to do. Remember documentity that came out about and
it was all about Kobe and what Kobe had done
on that one Olympic team and how everybody looked at
Kobe as a big brother, and he's so worried about
being liked and being admired by people.

Speaker 2 (38:38):
Is the only reason why he's there. He just played
seven year old Diana Trassei's out there too.

Speaker 1 (38:43):
He just played. He just played his more than seventy games.

Speaker 2 (38:47):
Get some get your rest is Ron Dame's not a
top fifteen player in the NBA right now, and then
and then filter out for American players since he's not
top ten, a top fifteen player.

Speaker 1 (38:57):
Right now, he's top ten of Americans.

Speaker 3 (39:00):
Questionable, questionable top fifteen in the NBA. Question but by people.
Just just put the tape on and watch the games
and don't get fooled by personal narratives and debate shows
that clutch people go work for it.

Speaker 1 (39:12):
That's that's who put the tape on. Just watch the games.
I wish I was working for Clutch. I make a
lot more money. Been fun, man, Lebron James is the
top ten player in America. Sorry America, Thanks convening. Rich
will appreciate it. Man, Peace out,
