something of over Promised, because Rich Davis over promises everything.
He's over promising laughs already He's gonna be the silliest,
most fun show of all time. There's a lot of
times we can't fit all this awesome into two hours,
so we sham in to our bonus podcast called over Promise.

(01:52):
It's so true. I have will promised last night to
my wife. I bet you did not the first time
or your last. And it looks like we're probably going
to talk about the worst logos and the biggest sports
fan losers. Who are the biggest sports fan losers? Saving
that for over Promise? Yeah, you know what, because I
don't think we'll have time today. There's a lot to
get to. We got old school in fifty hits. We

(02:14):
do that every Thursday. We throw it back in reminis
and we got to talk some Olympics stuff, but not
the boring stuff you normally get when it comes to
the Olympics. We're gonna talk about cardboard sex beds. There
you go. I can't wait. There you go. But no,
I did over promise last night. Then we have no
kids in town. Grandma's got the kids. So I did
the whole like, yeah, why don't we have some alone time?

(02:37):
And then I was like, then we'll go get dinner,
come back and maybe round two. And I was like
a Tyson fight in the eighties, one round ninety seconds.
I was a Tyson fight in the eighties. But hey,
you all are I know you are all right? Hey,
I want to start the show with an observation that
is undeniable. I can't believe it's taken me. How long
have we known? Ioa? Sam? Three years? Maybe three years now,

(03:00):
I guess about three years. Times of flying, because we've
been here three years. I was saying, how are you doing?
By the way, I'm great. You are one? Undeniably are Dwight?
If he watched The Office? Can you hit the office tave.
I gotta get in the mindset. I was Sam is Dwight.

(03:20):
I just witnessed something before the show, now Dwight again.
For the casual fan who's seen maybe three episodes ever,
that's Rain Wilson. I mean, who doesn't know Dwight'll Dwight? Shoot? Yeah,
come on, well, not everybody watches the biggest sitcoms of
all time. I never watched it, but I know who
he is because we interviewed him a few times. You
know who Jerry Seifeld is. I do, but I never
watched Sifeld really either or friends you know, I know

(03:43):
who Matt LeBlanc is. Joey Tribani, I know how you
doing so Dwight, he's our Dwight. Sam, he wears glasses.
Sam is our Dwight and Ryan beforehead big Papa who
runs the board for Colin Cowherd and does a bunch
of stuff around here. Whoyan, he's on our show sometimes, big,
big sexy. He is Jim And let me explain. You

(04:07):
can where you can cut the music. Let me tell
you I witnessed the most ridiculous thing before the show.
I'm with Danny g I saw it too. I couldn't
even believe what was happening, and Cavino it was great.
We're going over ideas and talking about NFL Olympics. Hey,
what are we going to talk about today? And I see,
I was Sam, like he's shuffling through He's going through
the trash cans. Yeah, I thought he threw like a

(04:28):
receipt away or you know, something fell into the trash,
you drop a piece of jewelry as ring fell off,
or something was in the trash, because he was trying
to find it, and I'm like, I was, Sam, what's doing.
Cavino goes over there to investigator like, yo, you good, Sam.
I was Sam's digging through the trash. Because Ryan messes

(04:49):
with Sam, a Lah, Jim and Dwight from the office
antagonizes him. Yeah, Ryan knows that. Apparently you're a big
recycling guy.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
Yeah, especially the easy stuff like cans and cardboard paper.

Speaker 1 (05:02):
Well, I think most of us here are good recyclers,
but it seems like you're super passionate about it. There's
a difference.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
Yeah, you just don't be lazy. The trash and the
recycling or right next to each other.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
Don't try that's news to us. Did you know of
Sam's passion level when it came to recycling. I did not.
And then there's things I don't know, like if a
pizza box is really greasy, someone told me that's trash
because it's if it's greasy, well, then I always Sam,
you must appreciate Rich's joke telling, right, because he recycles
a ton of ideas the environment. He recycles a lot
of mine, to be honest, when I'm not around. But

(05:34):
by the way, Dann Bayern, did you know of ioa
Sam's passion for recycling. It was odd to see, but
I mean he's saving the planet. He's digging through the
trash can and I go, what are you doing? You
go compulsive about it? That damn Ryan? I go what?
And then I find out that Ryan big Papa. He
will take videos of himself throwing cans and recyclables into

(05:58):
the regular trash and send it to Sam and be like, ah,
just to upset him, Just to upset him. He'll literally
not only his own cans, but he'll take cans out
of the recycle and put him in there. He sent
me the video he has. It's a monster energy drink.
He takes it, puts it in the garbage can and
then puts trash on top of it and sends it
to I was saying.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
Put trash on top of it to try to throw
me off so I couldn't find it. Well, I went
in there and I found that can, and then he
probably just now took it out of the recycling bin
and put it back in the trash.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
And but do you understand how ridiculous is going to end? Yeah,
but you know it's his way, I said to Sam.
I tried to explain it because he was very frustrated
when I saw him, like, hey, you're all right, and
he was very flustered. And then the moment digging through
the trash, and I said, that is his way of
loving you though, and saying that he's your butt. And
he's like, yeah, well I don't like it. He's not
he's not a fan of it. He's gonna he's gonna

(06:46):
put your stapler in jello next time. No, right now,
my swing line. Look at there he is, he's got
the can. It really is at its finest, and Papa
is looking at winds come in the studio. Big. It's
it's annoying on the flip side too, because I live
my girlfriend's the same way as Sam, And like, every

(07:06):
once in a while you'll make a mistake and they'll
have a freak out, freak out on you, like it's
your fault that turtles are dying. But you know what
the thing is, I think guys, like I was saying,
don't realize that people do stuff like that because they
get a reaction. Ryan Turtle. Ryan's like, yeah, you only
do this because you know the reaction you're gonna get
out of him. Correct. Absolutely, I'm wanna do it right now. Yes,

(07:27):
I'm gonna do it right now. But this is what
a wiener he is.

Speaker 2 (07:32):
He went and dug it out of recycling again. It's
gone from the trash to recycling. I don't know who's
more of a wiener here.

Speaker 3 (07:38):
I really just trying to let him doing it because
he gets so aggravated about it. So I'm just gonna
just sort of said, hey, dude, you do me a
favorous put it in the recycling band.

Speaker 1 (07:46):
I probably would have been all right, but he goes
overboard about it.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
Why can't you just be on team recycled, Team Earth, good,
Team Earth.

Speaker 1 (07:53):
It's so funny because I feel that his obsession about
this like if you throw that in the regular trash
right now, I'm going to this whole time from now
till commercial. He's gonna be dying inside to get it
out of I'm going to find it. He's Captain Planet
Powers combined. I can think about I'm going to find it.
All I can think about Ryan to get out of

(08:14):
that that whole time was It's so. It really is
like Dwight and Jim on the Office. It's Jim if
you don't watch your office. All he did was permanently
antagonized Dwight. Who's whose side are you on? Though? Rich?
Because I think it's hilarious that Ryan does that to
bother Sam. I love I was Sam, but I'm team.
I'm definitely tem Ryan here.

Speaker 4 (08:34):
You know.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
It's also you know, Sam's coming from a good place
and he's not alone. Like I said, my girlfriend's the
same way. She's such a stickler for those because it's
so easy just to do the right thing. It is.

Speaker 2 (08:45):
I guess like people do things just out of spite.
And you know what I say. I say, Ryan's more
like he's more like Kevin to me than Jim. You know,
he's more like Kevin.

Speaker 1 (08:53):
We'll just say that, Well, you get to know Iowa
sam this is a new one. This we had no idea.
He was so passionate about this. So he's on the
ones and twos, Iowa Samuel Danny g super producing on
the phones at eighty seven seven ninety nine on Fox,
we got dB Dan Byron Ass. That's always a pleasure.
He's the best in the game, best in the biz.

(09:15):
And again we're Covino and Rich And just when you
thought the show couldn't get any better, just when you
thought your day couldn't get any better, there's a story
about John Tesh that really gets Rich fired up. Oh
I'll tell you why. It gets me fired up, because
I think in the history of sports themes. Yeah, the
Fox theme is great. CBS is good. I do love

(09:37):
the Sunday Night football. Dun dunt dun no, dun no, no, no, no,
They're all great. They're all great. They're all designed to
get you fired up. There's two themes that take me
back to my childhood more than anything, harder than anything.
Oh I know, one, join in and put yourself up
a chair. It's Cherry No, no, not TV themes. Heeways

(09:59):
playing hell. I think TV themes are out of the conversation.
This says like themes like you would probably think American
Gladiators dun dun dundu, dun dun Dude. If I was
in the bath room, nitro that theme, I'm running as
fast as I could back to the living room to
watch American Gladiators. I missed, Nitro. I I just wanted

(10:20):
to point out that there's two. I'm not making a
mount rushmore. I'm not making a top three. I think
there's two. There's two that hit you harder than any
others if you're a kid of the eighties and nineties,
and those two are the John Tesh NBC NBA theme
round Ball Rock contsh Man, what a legend. I put

(10:45):
them right up there with Hasselhoff and you know what.
Probably just them, But with the return of the NBA
to NBC, it might be the only positive trade off
since we're losing the TNT crew and all that. But
we are going to get this song back, we speculated,
but it was officially announced that there will be a revamped,

(11:06):
updated version of round Ball Rock by John Tesh. Yeah,
nostalgic reasons for whatever we're going to lose when they
move it to Amazon. We do get that song back,
which is kind of cool because it did get you
fired up. It's one of the best, no doubt. When
you hear that song, you think Jordan Ewing Barkley. You

(11:27):
think of yeah, the Games and the era j All
you love to for sure. For sure you heard that theme,
You're like, oh yeah, that got you fired on, No,
no doubt, you think of the I think of the
Jordan era personally, you like biting but checks. Yes, so
NBA on NBC number one, and I said, there's only

(11:50):
one other song that will bring you back to your childhood,
and that is the HBO movie theme. When you heard
this kick in, Oh the build up, you're going over
that little fake village city, Yeah, that fake city, and
then that skyline and you're like, oh yeah, what are

(12:11):
we gonna watch? You're just hoping for boobies at this point,
you're hoping for a raided r Right after the bar
you're like, oh, yeah, there's a feature presentation. I hope
there's nudity. And this song got you so excited as
a kid, for sure. And then those little rainbow laser

(12:32):
lights reflect off of the HBO as it spins around.
Beat your presentation. No, honestly, Rich, Yeah, the smell of
burnt popcorn from your kitchen. Yeah, you're jiffy pop dingy gy. Seriously,
you know, Rich, those are two for sure. So I
mentioned that, you know, recently as a little little kid,
like when I heard he Man, when I heard the filmation,

(12:56):
certain things were like Pavlow's dog call response sort of
reactions to us. And I agree with you that John
tesh theme, I'm glad it's back. That's one of them.
And at HBO one legendary. Yeah, we talked about losing
Barkley and Shack and that whole crew. The one positive
is the NBA returning to NBC. You'll get round ball,
Rock back NA to tie it into sports and movies

(13:18):
and everything. The only other one that could come close
to matching it. You might think that Hank Williams Junior,
are you ready? Oh, You're ready for some football? That's
top that's up there. But the top two have to
be NBA on NBC and the HBO movie The End
Throwback Thursday. Well, based on that, I have a question

(13:39):
you could answer that list feel free at Covino and
Rich at Fox Sports Radio. On social media. The most
interactive most inclusive show on radio according to US, you
can call us at eight seven seven ninety nine O Fox.
But based on the comeback of the John Tesh super
song that rich you ever see him do it live? Yes,
he's wearing like a vest. He looks like he's on

(13:59):
his way to the I don't know what got you
more excited this news or Trumpemania over the weekend, Holster,
that was weird. That was weird. Okay, So based on
the comeback of John Tesh, who you probably remember best
from Entertainment Tonight back in the day, can you think

(14:19):
of other songs They don't have to be theme songs
or intro songs like this, any other song that got
second life, And we have some great examples. I don't
want to steal all the answers, but one of them
came up this week. Not only did it get second life,
got like third and fourth life. Bohemian Rhapsody. You know,
of course we know the song as it is as

(14:41):
it came out, But then Wayne's World, then the movie
came out again.

Speaker 5 (14:46):
Yeah, it came up because of the Astros team video
on their social media.

Speaker 1 (14:50):
The Astro we were doing call in response. Yeah, yeah,
that guy like second Third, fourth Life, if I'm not mistaken.
So Bohemian Rhapsody's one of those songs that it went
away came back. When away it came back, I think
it broke a record. I'm not sure about this, but
at least three times it was on the Billboard one hundred.
It had emerged multiple times and it stands in that category.

(15:13):
So are there other songs that come to mind? Aside
from John Tesha's song dB, What's Up?

Speaker 3 (15:20):
I'll give you a theme song in sports that kind
of made.

Speaker 1 (15:23):
Its return for a while.

Speaker 3 (15:24):
Cool All my Roddy friends are here for Monday Night
was such a theme by Hank Williams Junior when we
were growing up. But then it disappeared from the ESPN
ABC broadcast because of some stuff that Hank Williams Junior said.
But then it came back, and I don't even think
it's used now, but there was a period of time
where it did come back.

Speaker 1 (15:44):
They didn't have a comeback. They did a newer version
of it, but you know the Sunday Night Carrie Underwood theme.
And by the way, quick quiz, who are the other
two people besides Kerry Underwood to do it? Well, I
know Faith Hill did it. Person did it for one year? Pink, oh, Faithail,
pink and carry Carrie Underwood's been doing it over a

(16:07):
decade now. And that's just Joan jet. I hate myself
for loving you reworked as you know. Sunday Night football. Well,
I'm gonna give you a few answers that come to mind.
That's a great one, dB. I don't want to give
away all of our answers, so I'm gonna let it
open and leave it open for you. Eight seven, seven
ninety nine. Oh, Fox, let's do the COVID one. We
were talking about the ocean spray. Oh, that's a good one.

(16:29):
It's a really good one. There you go. How about
during the COVID times, it was all about Joe exotic.
It was all about naked black guy sitting at the
edge of their bed. By the way, was that big sexy?
Was that Ryan? No, that's not right. Oh, and it
was all about that dog Face dude. Remember dog Face
on the skateboard, on the skateboard drinking ocean spray cranberry.

Speaker 5 (16:51):
Juice, filming himself as he was cruising. Yeah, yet, dreams.

Speaker 1 (16:56):
Would mac on, he had dreams and boom, just like
that endorsement deals and every endorsement deals. But the song
came back. It was in a younger generation, but the
song was everywhere after that, everywhere kids were loving it.
It was like, Wow, what a major comeback out of
nowhere for Fleetwood Mac and social media does that look?
It's usually social media bringing back a random song and soundtracks.

(17:20):
Soundtracks are great at bringing back random songs. So other
songs that got second in life a lah John Tesh
with the big news today that his song is back
in twenty twenty five for the NBA. Do you want
cheesy examples first or cool ones? Because I got both
in my big noggin. That is no wrong answer. It
doesn't matter. I'll give you one and that we'll kick
it to Dwight. I mean, I was saying, this might

(17:43):
be one of the corniest ones, but but you're so
great at that. That is true. A movie that you
probably think is lame, and you've made fun of my
best friend's wedding, all right. Julia Roberts, Cameron Diaz very young. Yeah,
is that where she they bust out into song in
the restaurant. Remember as corny, I say a little prefole you.

(18:04):
They did that. That song charted again really and Warwick
say a little prefer you based on that movie charted
again because of that scene where they got the lobster
of Admit Center. Corny or not? I didn't know that,
So good answer. That's a great one. Actually, what movie
featured Brett Favra something about Mary? What song got second
life there? Do you remember? Oh what do you? Build

(18:25):
me up? Build me up? But a cup baby just
to let me down? So true, man, you're right that song? Yeah, okay,
I got another one. So, like I said, it's usually
some viral stuff or there are those question marks like
how did that song come back? And there's probably a
reason we just don't know. Nowadays, it's usually TikTok, Like
I know one of your favorite songs, Miguel, sure thing

(18:47):
that you like that song? Oh you could bit that
never got a sweart. That song got second life this
year a decade later because TikTok, you could bet that
never got a swear that. Now Rich Night debate how
this even got on the map and who should get
the credit. But I was always a fan of Living
Color culture personality as an MTV kid, as a rock fan, Sam,

(19:13):
can you cure that up? Culti Personality be the greatest
rift timeless? That song still rocks kicks ass I played
on Azzie's Boneyard every weekend on Syrius XM thirty eight.
Living Color Culture Personality, in my opinion, gets like a
three life high five because it existed, It kicked ass
it destroyed on MTV. Loved this song, right, but then

(19:37):
there's a whole generation that knows it and only knows
it from guitar hero or rock band, rock band, and
then the layer that you're in denial love, which is no.
This is CM Punk's theme song. So either way it
got second and third life from the video game and
from wrestling person So Living Color Culture Personality hits all

(20:01):
sorts of generations depending on what they were into. And
you know what, phones are all lit, so we will talk,
So we will talk to you next at eight, seven, seven,
nine nine on Fox in honor of John Tesh the
return of Round Ball Rock, NBA, NBC. What other songs

(20:22):
got second life? Because we're talking twenty something years later,
we're gonna hear this song when we're watching the NBA
in twenty twenty five, which is pretty awesome. So we
got more. Convene on Rich and your answers and feedback
next right here on Fox Sports Radio. Now, job searching

Speaker 1 (21:47):
Hey, we're Cavino and Rich Fox Sports Radio every day
five to seven pm Eastern. But here's the thing. We
never have enough time to get to everything we want
to get to and that's why we have a brand
new podcast called over Promised. You see where having so
much fun in our two hour show. We never get
to everything, honestly because this guy is over promising things

(22:07):
we never have time for. Yeah, you blubber list me. Well,
you know what it's called over promise. You should be
good at it because you've been over promising women for years. Well,
it's a Covino and Rich after show, and we want
you to be a part of it. We're gonna be
talking sports, of course, but we're also gonna talk life
and relationships. And if Rich and I are arguing about
something or we didn't have enough time, it will continue
on our after show called over Promised. Well, if you

(22:28):
don't get enough Covino and Rich, make sure you check
out over Promised and also Uncensored, by the way, So
maybe we'll go at it even a little harder. It's
gonna be the best after show podcast of all time.
There you go, over promising, and remember you could see
it on YouTube, but definitely join us. Listen over Promised
with Covino and Rich on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts
or wherever you get your podcasts. This is a really

(22:56):
corny bragging, right because I wouldn't consider myself big Fleetwood
Mac fan, but damn a hell of a catalog. By
no means my trying to take anything away. I can't.
They're legends. But I did see Fleetwood Mac Stevie Nicks
performed this live when it got its second win, right
in the second wind hype of it all. We saw

(23:18):
them open up for Billy Joel and it was cool
man because the song was fire at the time it
got second win courtesy of Dogface the Ocean spray Vato
on the skateboard during the pandemic. Remember when our video
guy Spot lived in Fleetwood, New York, and you called
him the Fleetwood Mac. He was the Fleetwood Mac. Now
he's out here in LA with us on the videos

(23:38):
at Covino and Rich. We got Danny g Iowa Samuel
the recycle of the show yes, yes, Dan Byer's got
your updates in a few minutes. But the big announcement
so far, by the way, I just buy on our
Instagram at covin on Riccia. I just posted the video
of Iowa Sam fishing cans out of the trash.

Speaker 2 (23:59):
Pal it's not my first time today either, or you're
at and it's not Ryan Smith aka Jim aka Kevin.

Speaker 1 (24:06):
What is not his first time? What are you gonna
do when Big Sexy Ryan from Fox Sports Radio start
sending you videos of cans that he's thrown away in
the regular trash, but you don't know what trash cane
they're in. At some point, I just have to give up. Okay.

Speaker 2 (24:18):
I was just wondering if it'll stop this nonsense, but
it's gonna drive you no, stop this insanity.

Speaker 1 (24:22):
You don't like the Greta Thunberg of Fox Sports Radio, you're
been a mediac. We're live from the ti rack dot

a whole bunch. They're in the blue kitchen. I was like, yeah,
let's take them right now, Rapid Radio. Yeah, so Rich,
I'm in the bathroom copy that Danny. Big news. Aside
from Iowa, Sam and walkie Talkies is the fact that
John Tesh's what's the name of this song? I didn't

(25:06):
know it had a name, round Ball Rock. Come on,
John Tesh's NBA is going to Amazon Prime and what's
going on? I'm sorry, NBA, NBC. So it's coming back
Second Win, Second Life. And it got us thinking about
other songs that got Second Win and Second Life. So

(25:27):
John Tesh is back. I mean, this song was so
popular they did an SNL bit about it. Now I'm
gonna dunk it. Yeah, Early What are other songs that
come to mind? It's usually due to a soundtrack or
something viral on social media. Bohemian Rhapsody would be a
classic one like I got one that came back and
I don't know why. You remember when call on Me

(25:52):
was part of a remix or something and got this
second win to call on me. Yeah, I don't know
how that happened either. I don't have happened, but I
got second win.

Speaker 2 (26:02):
And you said that guy's last name, by the way,
is the Pride Are Prids? Eric pridds I PRIs? I
think I like him a lot. He's got some good classics.

Speaker 1 (26:09):
So I guess a good remix or a club DJ
could bring a song back in that way too. Now
we have other examples and other answers. We don't want
to take them away. We want to get you guys involved.
Love talking to you guys. So eight seven, seven ninety
nine on Fox. I want to thank the Fox Sports
Radio Nation for hanging out with us. Who are going
to first? DANNYG I want to go to Willy. Let's
go to Willy? Yeah? What Willy? Willie? And Seattle? How

(26:30):
are you, Bud?

Speaker 4 (26:31):
Hey? I love your guys show. So, when I was
a kid, CBS had basketball when it first came the
prime time, and no one ever remade it, but a
song went like this, You see the dust in basketball
when you watch the NBA. When you watch the NBA
on CBS, CBS, it was the ball. And also they

(26:57):
used to have one on one.

Speaker 1 (27:01):
I want to bring that back. Every time we do
in basketball, we should use that. We got to bring
that back. But with Willie from Seattle, really, I think
there's a comeback for that.

Speaker 4 (27:08):
And you hey, they used to have one on one
matchup at halftime a game. Bob Lanier beat Tiny Archiballer's
Soul for a one on one championship back in the day. Hey,
I love you guys, show enjoy.

Speaker 1 (27:24):
I love you Willy. Let's go to Rob in Texas. Hey, Rob,
what song has gotten second life? It could be pop culture, movies,
TV sports? What do you got? No?

Speaker 6 (27:33):
I got a I think the nineties movie Beautiful Girls
brought back Sweet.

Speaker 4 (27:37):
Caroline Man the bar scene where they's all singing it.

Speaker 1 (27:40):
It's not a bad answer. I was thinking, you know,
you brought up movies. But a tiny dancer, then a
tiny dancer get second life without a doubt. Again, A
new generation kind of knows it. They hear in this
movie and it becomes a big thing again. Speaking of soundtrack,
speaking to movies, Paul fiction soundtrack brought back so many

(28:04):
different songs. I had that soundtrack. I loved all the songs.
But it brought back Let's stay together for sure, al Green? Yeah,
Al Green, Let's stay together. So that got second third
life again. Soundtracks are a big reason as to why
this happens. So John Tesh is back. Who else do
we got? Tony, you're on the show, Covino and Rich,
Tony and Oregon. Good one, Tony, You're on, Tony. Now

(28:29):
you're on Chris. Hey, Chris, it's weird. Hang on?

Speaker 5 (28:32):
Oh hey Chris there? Oh here we go there.

Speaker 4 (28:39):
I think I'm here?

Speaker 7 (28:39):
Am I here?

Speaker 1 (28:40):
Yep? You're there?

Speaker 6 (28:41):
Hello the A.

Speaker 4 (28:44):
Thank for evolving us, guys.

Speaker 1 (28:46):
Thank you.

Speaker 4 (28:47):
That round ball rock now just take me gives me
more of a fuzzy feeling, like you know, when I
had no responsibilities, I could just throw the TV and
watch basketball day.

Speaker 1 (28:54):
Dude. I was saying, that's a Cavino in spot earlier,
and I don't think they were feeling me. No, No,
I was getting emotional about him, like I hear those things.
I'm like. Rich gets oddly excited about it, like yeah,
that theme pumps everybody up, and it takes you back
to a special time where the NBA was exploding and
your childhood and everything else. Rich gets I think it has.
Rich has this thing for John Tesh to be honest,
I love that's it.

Speaker 5 (29:18):
Thank you, Tony, you got any more? You got some more,
you got some bore Tonny. Yeah, go for it, Tony,
You're back.

Speaker 8 (29:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (29:28):
Back in the day.

Speaker 1 (29:28):
Man.

Speaker 4 (29:29):
We uh we watched religiously watch the Sopranos and the
very final episode, uh kind of revived journey Don't Stop Believing.

Speaker 1 (29:38):
Without a doubt. And by the way, I don't think
it ever went away since no, right, Like it's still
one of those like you hear it at the bar
people are singing along, and I feel that did bring
it back, Like I don't remember Don't Stop Believing being
the crowd stopper at a bar.

Speaker 5 (29:53):
I don't kill the Dodgers some some credit and some
other stadiums around the country. The Dodgers always played that
every seventh in for years.

Speaker 1 (30:01):
dB What's Up?

Speaker 3 (30:03):
Steve Perry obviously brought it back to The Giants used it.
The White Sox actually used it at one point all
this life. But I would say, like open arms and faithfully,
their ballads were more popular than Don't Stop Believing until
that resurgence.

Speaker 1 (30:18):
Yeah, and you know what everybody was talking about it.
It was synonymous with that ending, and The Sopranos was
huge at the time. On a side note, I just
started watching The Sopranos over again just recently, twenty five
years later. Still holds up. It's still great and I'm
enjoying it. I'm just gonna say it because I'm sick
of waiting. But we had this conversation recently because Kate

(30:40):
Bush came back out of nowhere due to Stranger Things.
Like you're hearing this song, You're like, wait a second,
I recognize this song. I know this song, and it's
because it was a moderate hit in the eighties and
then due to Stranger Things, boom blew up out, Running
Up that Hill got second. It kind of had second
life because someone covered it right around that same time.

(31:02):
But then they played the original on Stranger Things Bam,
so it got like second and third life a little bit.
You know.

Speaker 5 (31:06):
The other day, our daughter was arguing with us about
Stranger Things because we're talking about the fortieth anniversary of
Never Ending Story and that theme song, and she's like, oh,
that's from Stranger Things, and we're like, yeah, it's from
the movie Never Ending Story. She said, no, it's from
Stranger Things. Oh my god, it's so funny our movie
from child and so to her that's a that's a

(31:27):
Stranger Thing song.

Speaker 1 (31:28):
Oh that's hilarious. Yeah, all right, Back to the Phones
eight seventy seven ninety nine on Fox. Hello Chris and Cincinnati.
What's up, buddy, Hey.

Speaker 4 (31:36):
You guys, big fan of the show.

Speaker 1 (31:38):
Thanks man.

Speaker 4 (31:40):
I just wanted to say a song that I feel
I got revamped a lot in the early.

Speaker 1 (31:44):
Two thousands was Shout from Wedding Crashers. Yeah, yeah, because
you get it at every wedding, but really you don't
hear it that often outside of a wedding. Wedding Crashers
comes out. Got second life for sure. And before I forget,
I want to backtrack the Stranger Things Master of Puppets
got second life because of that as well. It was

(32:05):
the name of them, Eddie Eddie.

Speaker 6 (32:09):
Ye.

Speaker 1 (32:11):
Many months in on Stranger Things did that guitar solo
and brought Metallica's Master of Puppets back to the forefront
where younger kids were all about it. Yeah, for some
of us, it never went away, but it did get
second life.

Speaker 2 (32:23):
What you got, I was sam all right quickly and
maybe these haven't come back, like you know, to the
degree that the songs you guys have discussed. But when
the eclipse, we were talking about the eclipse, black Hole
Sun by uh Sound Garden made it back into the
Billboard Rock charts.

Speaker 1 (32:36):
Did it really? Yes, it did from because of the eclipse.

Speaker 2 (32:39):
Really we're talking about the eclipse and Black Hole Sun
started to make it into reels and stuff.

Speaker 1 (32:42):
Oh wow.

Speaker 2 (32:43):
And speaking of reels, the mamas and the papas make
your own kind of music. In that scene with Nicholas
Cage and Pedro Pascal in the movie The Unbearable Weight
of massive Talent, that song just was everywhere that people
were making those reels. People looking at Scot looks all silly,
at Nick Cage is all ticked off looking and then
you hear that song.

Speaker 1 (33:03):
Uh that's a ton of music. It was just everywhere.
That is the silver lining to all these stupid things
that go viral though, because it does expose a younger
generation to a lot of songs that otherwise Yeah.

Speaker 5 (33:13):
Speaking of the clips, didn't totally Clips of the Heart
of the Heart have it come back.

Speaker 1 (33:17):
Probably it went viral, remember, Yeah, whatever, what movie was it?
Turn Around? Yeah, there you go. Everyone, and they put
curses in it. Remember the was that wedding crusher?

Speaker 4 (33:26):
No?

Speaker 1 (33:26):
What was that? What was this movie with the band
that adds curses? The dance band? Was that?

Speaker 6 (33:32):
That is?

Speaker 4 (33:33):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (33:33):
I was in the oldding Singer. Wasn't it old?

Speaker 6 (33:37):
Right?

Speaker 1 (33:37):
Yeah? School n that's it all right? So wrapping it
up with songs that got second or third life, that's
that's the Dan band, right, yeah, Dan Band. We'll get
back to your phone calls and wrap it up eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox and Again. Chime in at
Covino and Rich hashtag Cavino rules, hashtag Rich's eye, hashtag
second life, hashtag after I would Sam's Dwight. After an

(34:01):
update from dB, what's the best day game?

Speaker 3 (34:04):
Man, guys, what a special day for the San Diego
Padres and pitcher Dylan Ce.

Speaker 1 (34:10):
Here's the one and oh Abrahm swings lines it into
right field. Johnson coming on, he's got it in.

Speaker 8 (34:16):
The ballgame is over, Dylan c says, no hit the
Washington Nationals. On a rainy Thursday in DC, the Padres
will celebrate.

Speaker 1 (34:27):
Three to nothing win on the Padres Radio Network.

Speaker 3 (34:30):
As for the Padres organization, their second no no as
for Seas, took them one hundred and fourteen pitches, struck
out nine in those nine innings, did have three walks.
That's what didn't allow him to have the perfect game.
But a no hitter today for Dylan ce So the
San Diego padres So. More pitching news in the NLS,
Clinton Kershaw, making his season debut, went four innings for
the Dodgers through seventy two pitches and allowed two earned runs.

(34:53):
Right now, the Dodgers are on top of the Giants
four to two. In the bottom of the fifth inning,
raised all over the jase. Today in Toronto twelve nothing,
that's in the eighth Rangers top the White Sox two one,
Tigers blank the Guardians three nothing, and in ten it
was the Oriel seven, Marlin six. Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich
will rest and rehab his back injury in hopes of
returning at some point this season. According to the Athletic

(35:13):
surgery would have cost him the rest of the season.
While Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson set out today's first practice
because of a calf injury, He's considered day today. Justin
Fields took the first team reps in practice and the
opening ceremony is Friday in Paris. But there's already Olympic action.
There was yesterday and today again on the pH on
the cardboard beds. What are you talking about? Oh oh,

(35:35):
where you can flip those mattresses over. You could have
firm or moderates. I saw US women's soccer team blank
Zambia three nil in their Olympic opener.

Speaker 1 (35:44):
Guys, back to you, Thank you, Debbie. Yo. I'm gonna
zip through four real quick ones. I'll give you the song.
You tell me what movie or TV show gave it?
Second life? All right, okay, okay, Sonny and Chair, I
got you, babe, Beavis and butt Head. Do America spot
should know this? He's just not What do you mean
they brought it back to Wait? I stuck on you.
No wait, you're talking about the movie? Yeah, what movie?

(36:04):
I got you, babe, grandhog Day? I was, sam Why
are you this crediting Beavers and Bunhead. That was the soundtrack.
How about Come and Get Your Love? I know that
one too. Guardians of the Galaxy man, Wow, Samuel Fino.

Speaker 2 (36:20):
I mean their whole soundtrack was just made up of
clike so recycling and soundtrack Recycling Knowledge and can Unchained Melody?

Speaker 1 (36:27):
Oh Ghost Yeah, nineteen ninety one, and one that How
have you not mentioned? Tequila? Got one for you, Rich,
He's big adventure. Yeah, yeah, I knew. You know it's
going to get you. You know what else that's featured
is featured in.

Speaker 5 (36:40):
Sandlot, Yeah, top gun, Rich, Which one did Tom Cruise lost?

Speaker 1 (36:44):
That good righteous breath? One more?

Speaker 5 (36:47):
There was one more too? Remember his parents played it
all the time. Oh remember jukebox?

Speaker 1 (36:53):
Oh great Balls of Fire? Right? No, no, that's what
they play on the piano, wasn't it.

Speaker 5 (36:58):
Otis Redding was just sitting on the dock of the bak,
sitting on the doctors the baby no on a doctor
to the bay.

Speaker 1 (37:04):
So your phone calls. I guess we'll get to him next. Ye,
songs that go to the second life. But we got
to move on as well. Again, chime in at Covino
and Rich. We do got to talk about Olympic beds
if we have time, But then again, whatever we don't
have time for. Our bonus podcast is right after the show,
four pm Eastern, I'm sorry, four pm on the West
seven Eastern on Fox Sports Radios. YouTube page Olympic Beds

(37:28):
NFL and We'll go old school in fifty hits all
coming up right here coven on Rich Fox Sports Radio.
I'm not sure if Fritz said this, because again, my
wheels are turning when he's talking, and a lot of
times I'm not listening. But when it comes to second Life,
did anybody mention I don't want to lose your love tonight?

(37:51):
Because that song got like weird life again from the clubs?
I think too, but I don't know why. I don't
know what became that became an eighties bar classic, but
I put that in this category of call on Me.
I think it just got remixed somehow and became a thing.
I don't know. You're loved by the outfield. The same
original version was like a moderate hit in the eighties,
just got Second Life like in the two thousand, same

(38:13):
kind of cult following us take on Me from Aha,
Oh yeah Yeah, that's a great song. True again. John
tesh Is back round Ball Rock, We're Cavino and Rich,
Danny g Iowa, Samuel and to play stap Bay our
buddy joelt Box hit us up on it. Did Joel
say Facebook? And he goes f s one has used

(38:33):
that on occasion for college football college basketball. But it's
not the same. I mean, we're talking about the NBA
on NBC. Well no, I mean, but it's a fun fact.
Thanks for the feedback, all the feedback at Covino and
Rich at Fox Sports Radio. And again we're live from
the tire rack dot Com studio. But look at the time,
let's go, it's getting late fifty after. Yeah, already, there's

(38:53):
a certain What we gonna do is go.

Speaker 7 (38:57):
Back back into town, throwing it back for a Thursday.
Old school went fifty hits at fifty after CNR give
you the time capsule topic and we reminisce together.

Speaker 1 (39:11):
Yeah all right, so with the worldwide leaders of nonsense,
thanks for being part of it, Cavino and Rich. Every
Thursday we throw it back. We like to reminisce, We
like to get you involved. And today this will be fun.
It's based on a Kelsey Brothers story. So let me
just give you a story real quick. Jason Kelsey and
Travis Kelcey have announced a new type of cereal. And

(39:32):
I'm a serial killer.

Speaker 6 (39:33):
Bro.

Speaker 1 (39:33):
You don't even know how I was brought up on
peanut butter crunch. Got me done Crunches, Deevan and Coco Peblis.
I love me some cereal, but nothing makes your mom
more mad. I know anytime, anytime I say I go
up on cereal, my mom is so offended. She does
that mom thing where it's like I'm sorry. With a
great mom. Mario is busy working. Oh I'm sorry, Steve,

(39:55):
and I didn't give you everything you need. It's like
I made you self, Verry Steak, You're a big liar.
I'm like what. Anyway, They have a new cereal coming
out called the Kelsey Mix. Now here's what's interesting about it.
You're thinking, well, what the hell is the Kelsey Mix.
It's a mashup of three General Mills favorites. Okay, Reese's Puffs,

(40:17):
which to me is a knockoff of the Captain Crunch,
Peanut Butter Crunch, Okay, fair enough, Reese's Puffs, Lucky Charms
and Cinnamon Toast Crunch together. The Kelsey brothers are saying
it's gonna sell because it's sugar and kids love it.
So it's their favorites mixed together. It's mashed up into

(40:38):
one cereal called the Kelsey Mix. Based on that. We
all have our own famous or crazy or weird food concoctions,
and I want to share them. Maybe they're not as
weird as you think. Maybe everybody secretly does it. So
what comes to mind for you? Maybe it's from a movie.

(40:59):
Maybe it's something you saw, name the movie Maple Syrup
and spaghetti. Oh that's Buddy, Buddy the Elf. There you go. Yeah,
a place also eats that. There was a restaurant in Chicago,
believe it or not that did spaghetti with syrup or
on the holidays last year in honor of Buddy the Elf.
And I remember thinking, like, you know what, I'm sure
it doesn't taste that bad. You put sugar on anything,

(41:21):
it tastes good. Right, So you're crazy food mixes, you're
weird food combos. We want to get to them. Maybe
some irc you, maybe some are delicious. Share your secrets,
get right out the gate. It involves drinking or eating,
I feel like it. I can't believe how much pickled

(41:42):
juice could be used where people like pickle juice. Yeah,
pickle shots of alcohol with pickled juice. Yeah, yeah, I
don't know. Pickles. If you say so, that's your favorite
cover band, right, pickleback, Pickle back, Yeah, They see how
how you remind me or something right Your answers and feedback.
