who's been on the show, Good guy, Tyber How old
is ty Burrow? Fifty seven? Fifty seven? What number comes
to my fifty seven? I don't know who Johan Santana man,
(02:18):
not for me, not for you? Uh so Rich is
telling me. I got to take his word for it
that he is one of the greatest TV dads of
all time, maybe the best TV dad. He's a swell
fella in real life. The clips I see are funny.
I never watched Modern Family, but here's what I do now.
If you love all the clips, why would you not
say that's a great Try to put on the background
for that. Dude? You watch Sports Center like an eighty
(02:40):
year old guy. It's only there's only so much. Who
even hosts Sports Center anymore? Who our boy Gary Streiski?
Is that during the day though? Yes, during the day?
Who was it night? Who want dude? I'm watching our
pal Linda Cone? So yeah, see you dissing on everybody,
but you love them now. My question is this, how
(03:00):
could he be America's favorite TV dad if he's not
even the greatest TV dad on that show? Hello, your
greatest impression? Well Al Bundy's on that show. I mean
that was my number one. I said, I had a
top five and his Fox sports Man That dude had
four touchdowns in one game. What high school paulk High School.
(03:20):
Of course. You know Phil Dumphy, Yeah, Philip Banks, uncle
Phil Danny Tanner, Philip Drummond, different strokes. He adopted Arnold N.
Willis And my number one was a fat woman came
into the Shoe Show today, peg. Oh, he's your number one. Huh,
(03:41):
Al Bundy, sorry to take away your number one. It's okay,
Al Bundy is uh. But they always said that about
Derek Jeter, right, like he's not even the best short
stuff on in the Yankees. Because a Rod was also
on the Yankees. People love to take shots at a Rod.
I'm not taking shots at Ty Brow. I'm just wondering
because again I didn't watch my again. If you if
(04:03):
you need a TV show in the background, that's a
good one. It's you know, It's coming gone. Started in
the two thousands. I believe eight ran until about five
years ago or so. It really is well written, funny.
The clips you see on the Instagram and TikTok, they're
all funny because the show's funny. Now let's make this
clear too, based on his birthday, we're going over your
(04:25):
most memorable, your greatest TV Dad's okay because in a
way they helped raise you a little bit. You grew
up with it a little bit. You grew up with
them where you admired I mean some of us a lot.
Yeah maybe right, I just shut up and sit in
front of the TV. Yeah, you were right there, just
like I wish Jason Seaver was my dad. Right. So
(04:45):
it's funny because I think Maggie, Maggie, I think it's generation.
It's very generational.
Speaker 2 (04:50):
Right.
Speaker 1 (04:50):
If you ask your mom, she's like Ward Cleaver, word
clever might be the guy. So it's very generational. But
I'm also so surprised Rich that you and I have
zero crossover. Wow. None. So just to get to make
it clear, I said Phil Dumphy, uncle Phil, Danny Tatter,
(05:11):
Philip Drummond, and Albundy. And I think it says so
much because Rich loves all corny dads.
Speaker 3 (05:18):
No, this is cool, goofy dads like I also have
three that are not on riches lest I think we're
gonna get a lot of different names.
Speaker 1 (05:27):
Anybody got Tom Bosley in there?
Speaker 4 (05:29):
All right?
Speaker 1 (05:30):
I got one ready?
Speaker 5 (05:31):
What do you?
Speaker 1 (05:31):
Let's hear your whack ass list in no particular order,
particular order, best TV Dad's good Mike Brady's on my list.
Blame lame as can be. Architecture tubes that cool, I'm
an architect. Lamest episode episode of all time that you
solved problems in thirty minutes on every episode? Do you
(05:52):
remember he was a slick cool dad. Do you remember
the weakest holiday special ever when Mike Brady gets stuck
under the rubble, had a perm and he was looking sweet?
Speaker 3 (06:02):
That redesign rich they're singing is what kept him alive? Yes,
you say lame, I think that was you say, Mike Brady.
Speaker 1 (06:11):
I think my Mike Major mister Brady was in every
kid's living room. Generations of kids watched that show and
infamously infamously known for, like again, resolving every issue that
was going on in a cool, bad way. I always
like Mike Brady, Okay, I always did. I'm serious. I
(06:31):
love the Brady bunch. Do you think anything with Alice
on the side and probably Sam the butcher was he
would would allow now again, in no particular order. These
are the ones that stood out to me. Already shouted
him out to your room, Ben Jason sever Alan Thick,
the late great Alan Thick was a great TV show.
(06:52):
Me that smile show me that smile. Waste another made
it on you cry? Come on, man, he was sending
Ben to his room, him and Maggie getting it on.
I thought, Jason Sever, I'm sorry, doctor Sever. Doctor Jason
Sever was a great TV dad. Alan Thick was a
(07:14):
very cool dad to me.
Speaker 4 (07:15):
He also didn't put up with boner'sigans a lot.
Speaker 1 (07:17):
Boner, he did it, he didn't he h Yeah, he
didn't take Boner shenanigans to your room. Ben. You know,
he was a good living Mike went to the party
with Boner and he's like, Dad, there were drugs there, yeah,
and he was like Mike, he made the right choice
and he had that smooth Hey, I'm Ellen Thick, rest
in peace all. He was a great TV dad. I
(07:39):
let you know again. It's Wheelhouse. That was very nineties.
I'm watching it. That was probably my last one of
TV shows I was really into when it came to
sitcoms and around that era for me. Ay, oh, hey,
you think of me as the nanny, but uh I
was Samantha's dad. Hey, Tony Massili ay, oh wait, Angela Mona.
(08:01):
He was also Jenathon's dad. Practically. Tony Danza not only
a good Palavars throughout the years. How do you leave
him off the list? He vacuumed Curtains, Tony Danza, Okay,
Tony Mascelli. So I got Alan Thick as Jason Seaver,
Robert Reid as Mike Brady. That's his name, right, Andy Reid,
(08:24):
Mike Red, Mike Reed, Robert Robber right Reid. Yea, Tony
Danza as Tony Macelli. Okay, that's three. That's it, you got,
that's it. We think I'm giving George Poppadopolos a shout out.
He was a great dad for Webster.
Speaker 3 (08:43):
Uh number five on my list, a little bit of
a curveball. But I watched this and I'm like, man,
I wish that was my dad. Tony Soprano. He did
everything for his kids.
Speaker 1 (08:53):
You know when you watched that show back, he really did.
That's what made it awesome. He was a family man.
Speaker 4 (08:59):
Really. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (09:02):
Remember how he got that SUV for Meadow? Yes, I'm
watching it, Carr, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (09:07):
My daddy, give me a car.
Speaker 4 (09:08):
Number four. I have Mike Brady. We mentioned him. Number three.
Speaker 3 (09:11):
I wrote down Doctor Huxtable, but he got canceled, So
I'm gonna have to replace him with Charles Ingalls, Michael
landon Rip.
Speaker 1 (09:19):
Dude on the he was like the the epitome Dad,
epitome of great. I wish my dad busted out a
fiddle at dinner time. Number two.
Speaker 3 (09:31):
I got Drummond because different strokes. As a little kid,
the reruns of that man, we just thought that dude
was the coolest. And then Uncle Phil has to be
number one. Even J Cole wrapped about him back in
twenty fourteen on No Role Models. He said, first thing's first,
rest in peace Uncle Phil.
Speaker 4 (09:47):
For real. I thought that was really for his uncle Phil,
though I didn't know if it was actually for the
Fresh Prince.
Speaker 6 (09:54):
You never know.
Speaker 4 (09:55):
I thought it was he had a real Uncle Phil.
There's also Buyer.
Speaker 3 (09:58):
There's also another song that was just all Uncle Phil,
dedicated to Uncle Phil because a lot of kids thought
that was their dad, like he felt like your dad.
Speaker 1 (10:08):
Uncle crazy again. I didn't. I didn't watch a lot
of Fresh Prince. I know, obviously, obviously obviously the popularity
of Uncle Phil in the show, but I didn't know
he was that like that well, the rage of Fresh Princes.
Never I didn't watch that. I was out hitting home
runs for the record. I wasn't correcting Danny. What I'm
saying is I actually thought it was for Uncle Phil.
(10:29):
So I may be the absolute idiot that they.
Speaker 3 (10:31):
Never I mean maybe because the song is called was
no role model, So I just always assumed, right, role model.
Speaker 1 (10:38):
Right, you know, it's like looked at it right.
Speaker 4 (10:40):
I know.
Speaker 1 (10:40):
It's like Dann By once they asked Frank Sinatra, what's
your favorite song of all time? And he said something
by the Beatles, And I'm like, is it the song
something by the Beatles or just something by the me
You don't know, Uncle Phil, Well, the song is role Models.
That does imply that he was just watching the show,
and that's sort of how he was. He was raised
(11:01):
by the show at that point. You know, all right,
if you want to, if you want to go to
Irish Sam and then the phone calls, the phone calls,
are I always Sam, you got five that really influenced you?
Speaker 4 (11:10):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (11:10):
This much?
Speaker 4 (11:11):
Yep, I love.
Speaker 1 (11:12):
I'm gonna write down one I know is his because
I know.
Speaker 7 (11:17):
Hank Hill from King of the Hill, absolute goat, always
just cared about his family and propane, Carl Winslow, Reginald
veil Johnson, for I was gonna give you that.
Speaker 1 (11:30):
I was going to give him an honorable mention. Carl Winslow.
There there's some really good episodes. He went to a
GM remember he went to go, uh get Eddie from
jail one time. That was a good episode that in
my confused so is what's the one with the pool sharks.
That's Uncle Phil. That's Uncle Phil, Uncle Phil.
Speaker 7 (11:47):
There was also, like I think I feel like there's
an episode of Family Members where there was racism and uh,
Carl like bails out Eddie from not from jail, but
maybe from something else that jail.
Speaker 1 (11:56):
That was it. Okay, here's another one. There's a little
rude to Erkleville.
Speaker 7 (12:00):
Well Erkele was really pushing his buttons all the time
and pain the assyday and he's like a cheese.
Speaker 1 (12:06):
Okay.
Speaker 7 (12:07):
Frank Lambert from Step by Step it was a show
I watched Patrick Duffy always liked him. I had Phil
Phillip Banks of James Avery on there and Tim the
Toolman Taylor.
Speaker 1 (12:17):
I loved him. That's your five, right, that's my five,
rich Is I was so wrong. He was wrong. What
you have written down I was sam. I guaranteed you
would say Homer Simpson.
Speaker 7 (12:30):
Homer was on there, but you know, he's like such
an obvious pick an idiot. I mean, he is an idiot, and.
Speaker 1 (12:35):
We're gonna do cartoons. What about Peter Griffin? He really
cares an idiot?
Speaker 7 (12:40):
You d Dad's been Hank was rational like if not,
you know, sometimes out of out of you know, touch
with stuff.
Speaker 1 (12:45):
But Dan, Dan Byer, you got ones that stood out
too well. Yeah, I'll tell you what.
Speaker 4 (12:48):
There's one TV dad that I think is the best
TV dad of all. I just don't know if we
would want him as our father unless like something really
went down. Yeah, James Evans on Good Times. Oh yeah,
amos like serious, Like you know he gave JJ hell
all the times you.
Speaker 1 (13:07):
Know about that. Though he died on the show on
the show in real life, he's still alive. Yes, on
the show, I was a little kid, and I remember
watching that again on rerun obviously, and he dies on
the show and it's like, that's tremendous contract.
Speaker 4 (13:21):
Yeah, couldn't reach the contract. Here's the other whack thing.
He was only like eight years older than JJ in
real life, but played his dad. But man, when push
comes to shove or they tried to rip JJ off
some money for a painting that he did. Yeah. Yeah,
there was no one that you wanted more in your
corner than James Evans Senior.
Speaker 1 (13:38):
No doubt. And you know he he epitomized that blue
collar like tough dad for sure. When it comes to
tough dads and stereotypically tough, grumpy dads. I always think
of Dan Lauria on the Wonder Year. He was the
worst dad. But yeah, I don't think of him as
like a like a dad. I'd want to be my dad.
But he was one of those dads home everybody be quiet. Yeah,
(14:01):
he was like closed minded. I'm gonna whoop your ass, dad,
I got Dan Lauria not a good dad, Dan Buyer,
you give a fun fact about how JJ was only
eight years younger, but he played his songing like that.
You know the fun fact about Golden Girls. Not to
go on a tangent, But Sophia was younger than Dorothy
and Dorothy that was common knowledge.
Speaker 4 (14:19):
Man.
Speaker 1 (14:19):
Maybe it's not, maybe it is, maybe it's not, but Sophia,
who played you know, Big b Author's mom on the show,
is actually younger than her in real life. I think
you're the first one that just found that out. Shit
everyone else knew. All right, let's go to the phones
at eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox. Eight seven
seven ninety nine on Fox. It's Ty Burrell's birthday. That's
(14:40):
how we got here. He's a big Mets fan. In fact,
we had him on our show, and it was kind
of gross to hear him and Rich all buddy chummy
about the Mets. Oh, like, I wasn't even there. I
hate those situations. In fact, I wish you weren't. Yeah,
but you know, two goofballs talking about the Mets. But
he's a big sports dude, and he's one of the
best TV dads out there, So we ask you who
(15:02):
comes to mind. Honestly, those are all great answers. Yeah,
I think we nailed a lot, and I'm curious to
see what people say. Rob hit us up. By the way,
our buddy Rob Baker down in San Antonio. He said,
if you want to talk football, coach Taylor on Friday
Night Lights. Great dad and a father to so many
of those players. So if you watch Friday Night Lights
coach Taylor, all right, go to the phones. Thanks for calling.
(15:23):
Hanging out with Cavino and Rich. We do this every Thursday.
We reminisces Old School in fifty hits. Who do we
got Josh in Ohio?
Speaker 4 (15:28):
What's up?
Speaker 1 (15:29):
Josh?
Speaker 8 (15:30):
Thanks again, guys, once again for taking my call. You
have named like my top five choice, and so I'm
gonna throw a huge curveball. You might not even watch
this show, but I'm gonna say James at Coal as
Jim Walsh on nine two one.
Speaker 1 (15:45):
Oh, I remember that guy. I definitely remember that guy.
You know, it'd be cool if we could pick, like
if we all had one that crossed over, Like, oh,
that's the number one answer, I guess, is there. I
thought I thought Mike Brady was a slam dunk. I
really did, because I'm like, he crossed over generation. I
think it was cheesy though. Yeah, so you're the guy
that says no. I think see. I would think al
(16:06):
Bundy would be the one we might all agree on
the most because he was sarcastic. That's a good one.
He cared about his kids, but he was also just
like an apathetic, like fed up dad. And you know,
none of us we didn't have one that crossed over.
It's very interesting who else we got. Let's go to
aus Let's go to Augusta and say how to Brian, Hey, Brian,
what's happening? Fellas What's happened? There was no dad on
What's Happening?
Speaker 9 (16:27):
So I think that Uncle Phil is like the number
one number one. Yeah, a lot of us Uncle Phil,
but I think we left out John Goodman, Dan Connor
from Roseanne.
Speaker 1 (16:41):
Great dad. N Yeah, he was a great dad. I
think a lot of people could relate to him, even
if your dad was nothing like him. It was something
about him that was a really good dad. I just
tried hard. He was blue collar dude, fun and it
had some humor. Yeah, kind of didn't give a crap.
But that's a really good answer. He played a really
(17:02):
good TV dad, I think. But I am curious about
the Uncle Phil thing because again I believe me. I
know it sounds weird. I know, the fresh Prince of
bel Air. What made him so great is my question?
Because I think he was strict, but he held the kids.
He was. He did not take any asks from Will
because you know, Will came from West Philadelphia born, so
(17:23):
he was he managed Will being a boisterous nephew. His
son Carlton was a nerd and he just sort of
balanced it on. He was You're right. He was strict,
but at the same time, you know, he had their
back and he was a great role model.
Speaker 2 (17:34):
He was.
Speaker 4 (17:35):
That scene any French when Will's dad left like that,
and that's I mean, that's probably one of the more
popular scenes in TV. Yeah, yeah, I think that one,
like really said it over the top. Okay. And and
I was the idiot, like I just assumed that there
was some guy named Uncle Phil and j Cole's life
that that's what it was. They didn't even put two
and two together.
Speaker 1 (17:56):
Let me ask you Battle of the Phils, Uncle Phil
or Philip Drummond. Who do you want to be here?
But we're going Uncle Phil, Uncle Phil.
Speaker 4 (18:02):
They all have money.
Speaker 1 (18:05):
You don't doubt what Phil Drummond did for two African
American boys.
Speaker 3 (18:08):
True, that is true. But Uncle Phil he marched in
the Civil Rights times.
Speaker 1 (18:14):
Yeah, okay, all right.
Speaker 4 (18:15):
You want to know the other great Uncle Phil episode
when he they hustled the pool guy. I love that
episode when he's like Jeffrey, breakout, Lucia.
Speaker 1 (18:26):
Yes, yes, I was to know because I would be
the only guy sleeping on Uncle Phil. It's cool the
episode that Dan I didn't know he was that in
the episode. Dan Bayer references I was saying I mentioned
briefly before Uncle Phil. Will you know, as you can
imagine how you missed the shows beyond me, You were
probably out getting so much booty. I'd imagine the nineties.
I mean, was it like primarily nineties? Definitely slaying it
(18:51):
somewhere else in high school.
Speaker 10 (18:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (18:53):
Anyway, the episode, as you can imagine, Will and Carlton
would get into some trouble situations. Yeah, they were being
hustled a pool hall and they would down all this
money and Uncle Phil comes in and they would give
an Uncle Phil attitude, so he plays dumb, like, well
play you, and he starts losing money and they were like,
all right, baby double nothing trouble enough for everything. Uncle
Phil's like, what do you say? Breakout? Uh? Breakout? And
(19:16):
Jeffrey jeoff the I thought Lucille was the bat with
the spikes all over. It might have been the second Lucille.
Speaker 3 (19:24):
But then Uncle Phil starts beopping around the table and
making every.
Speaker 1 (19:29):
Shot Minnesota fat. I'm going to show you the clips.
Speaker 4 (19:33):
Too. Is him shooting and then a cut to the
ball going into the pockets.
Speaker 1 (19:37):
You don't really see, You're right. The worst it would
be Uncle Phil would have terrible form to I want
to see this so bad. Now, all right, let's go
to the phones. Hey, thanks for hearing us out. Who
do we got Jennifer and Michigan. Jennifer in honor of
our pal Phil Dumphy, cell Britta a birthday? Best TV dads?
What do you got? Who's the best? Phil? Maybe Phil's
just a great TV dad. Maybe, Hey, Jennifer, Jenue there, oh, Jenny.
(20:05):
Terry in Mississippi, Hey, hey Terry.
Speaker 9 (20:07):
Wake Michigan.
Speaker 10 (20:08):
Man, Wake Michigan anyway, uh Andy Griffiths Man dude was
a widower and smoked cigarettes on the porch.
Speaker 1 (20:20):
He's your number one, all right, Terry Micha A good one.
That's a good one. Michael in Alaska, it's something, but Michael, I'm.
Speaker 9 (20:27):
Sorry you guys doing we're good man?
Speaker 1 (20:29):
What's up?
Speaker 10 (20:30):
Good? I would definitely have to go with Bob Uker
as George Owens and mister Belvidere I like because he
also moonlighted as a broadcaster in.
Speaker 1 (20:39):
Major League I thought that was cool. Yeah, he was
a spool. I believe he was a sports writer. And
mister Belvidere was the family butler. People forget that Bob Uker,
mister Baseball was the dad in Mister Belvidere because mister
Beldere was the star of the show. But Bob Ucker
was the dad to Wesley that little tweet. He was
the dad on that show is a funny show, and
(21:00):
he was just a big pop culture guy. Back, Dan,
Bob Youker, I remember I got his baseball cards because
he was so pop culture relevant. That's a good answer.
What about what about George Costanz's dad on Seinfeld, Jerry Stiller,
Frank Stanzen.
Speaker 4 (21:15):
Frank.
Speaker 1 (21:17):
Queen's I don't want to be the guy that we
keep adding clips, Dan Bayer, But have you ever seen
where Kevin James is with Jerry Stiller and he's ordering
Domino's and he's like, do you mean Domino's? Demino Dominos?
Speaker 4 (21:34):
It's my favorite sitcom scene and he and he's.
Speaker 1 (21:37):
Not giving Kevin James the phone number one, one, two five,
like he didn't want that role. He wanted no part
of the role. I gotta show Kevino both of those
clubs again. You gotta remember Dan by Cavino is just
so busy getting so much booty and home runs. There's
(22:00):
a lot he missed. I didn't run home to watch
these corny shows. I mean he either had a hands
on a baseball bat or but cheek, I mean he couldn't.
He stopped time for now. Let's got a trip in Vegas.
What's up?
Speaker 4 (22:11):
Trip?
Speaker 10 (22:11):
Hey, trip, Hey, what's up? A great show is always
I got a couple a little different, a little different.
How about Michael Blue from Arrested Development.
Speaker 1 (22:20):
Great Ones, goode yea man, Remember how he was.
Speaker 10 (22:23):
As a dad. He was such an easy go one,
always trying to help his son and protect the family.
And then the one that reminds me of my dad
would be Red Foreman from that seventies show.
Speaker 1 (22:32):
That's a good one. That's a good one. And uh,
you know, I bet a guy that reminds a lot
of people of their old school dads. If you want
to go all the family, Archie Bunker a dad that
reminds us of a lot of our grandparents. Here's your dad.
But you know why it's funny because he was a dad,
but you don't think of him as TV dad. I know,
like George Jefferson was also a dad, but you don't
think of him as a TV dad. Fred Sanford was
(22:54):
a dad but you don't think of him as like
TV dad, right, Lamont was his.
Speaker 3 (22:58):
Son, because you know, I saved one for the callers,
because I thought for sure somebody was gonna say it, Ward,
you're a little heart on the Beaver, Like I mean,
we just saw reruns of this black and white show.
Speaker 1 (23:08):
But oh, I referenced it in the sense that like
it's generation, an older generation would definitely be it has
to be Ward Cleaver.
Speaker 3 (23:15):
But yeah, but would leave it to Beaver even watching it,
and we couldn't exactly relate to the times they.
Speaker 4 (23:20):
Grew up in.
Speaker 1 (23:21):
But he was such a cool he was such a dad. Yeah,
he was such a cool guy.
Speaker 2 (23:25):
Yeah, you know, I.
Speaker 1 (23:26):
Agree with Danny g. We've seen enough reruns to know that,
like this dude epitomized a dad in that era or
what you thought that that should be of that era.
And the way, you know, June sort of catered to Ward.
You're like, yeah, man, Ward's running the show, so Man,
a lot of people calling up, which is interesting. I
(23:47):
think we covered most.
Speaker 3 (23:48):
I'm going to say we'd have to reset the phones,
but maybe callers have some curveballs, like the ones we
didn't think of yet.
Speaker 1 (23:54):
I was gonna be I'll be honest with you. I
just cheated where I said. I'm gonna actually look it
up now, and I feel like we've covered them all.
What's good question?
Speaker 4 (24:01):
Is anybody choosing Paul Reiser of the two dads and
my two dads, we're all going with the other cool and.
Speaker 1 (24:07):
We're going with the other dad who is Ricky Schroeder's
dad because he was all rich Do we what act? Yeah?
I don't remember, and if you can't remember it, then
it's not that I can't be in the conversation. There's
just no way really cool man, Uh, Uncle Phil, big
surprise stands out from this conversation. I'll be honest, if
if we had to pick a winner Winter conversation, Uncle Phil,
(24:30):
Uncle Phil, just based on how everyone talked about him.
He's the number one TV dad of today, and we
also realized that Phil is a great TV dad name Yes, Yes,
followed by Trummond dumfy tdrumming right there. All right, So
we're not gonna be able to get to all your
phone calls, but I guess we'll do our best to
address everybody. And if you don't get in touch with us,
we're always on social Media the most interactive show on radio,
(24:50):
according to us at Covino and Rich. So two things
I want to get to before the end of the show,
so pay attention. We're gonna talk some AFC West. I
want to talk Bo Nicks and the possibilities for the Broncos.
I want I want to see if there's possibilities of
this team being maybe a little better than you think.
So we'll talk Broncos for a second. And terrible fantasy
football punishments. It just happened a few days ago, but
(25:13):
there's a classic one that I think might be the
best punishment I've seen yet. So we'll get to that
all next coming on retch right here on Fox Sports Radio.

people still calling in.
Speaker 9 (27:18):
You know why.
Speaker 1 (27:19):
I think this connects because in a way, like when
you hear the song Danny g what you referenced before,
they had big influence on you, these TV dads, whether
your thoughts or not. I mean now you're told like, oh,
don't don't give your kid too much iPad time or
TV time. If you grew up in the eighties or nineties,
your parents are like, yeah, watch TV.
Speaker 9 (27:40):
Right.

Speaker 8 (28:47):
Walter White baby created an empire to give us kids money.
Speaker 4 (28:51):
That is good because he didn't care about his family.
Speaker 1 (28:54):
Yeah, like to so it's a good one. Bja and
Tennessee same name.
Speaker 10 (28:58):
That would be john Mark and.
Speaker 1 (29:01):
Old school going, Walton's Randy and Idaho last one.
Speaker 10 (29:04):
What you got, hey, George Lopez.
Speaker 1 (29:11):
Just think in real life or on his show? My
dad not on the show, George. I watch the show
enough to know show. It was a late night show.
Speaker 4 (29:19):
He was a cool dad on that show.
Speaker 1 (29:20):
Do you notice that we all looked at good one?
I know, hey, Comana, what do you think I'm from
the tiraq dot com studio again? Covino and Rich Now, Rich,
you did make a promise. I know you said you
wanted to talk AFC West, you wanted to talk bon Nicks, Broncos.
(29:42):
You want to talk fantasy. So Bonnicks put down a hole.
We'll get to in a minute. But before we get
to Dan Buyer's update, we always talk about how some
people's fantasy football pools and fantasy leagues with their buddies.
There's a punishment, right like last place has to do
something embarrassing. This is a couple of days old. You
may have seen it. You may have skipped your algorithm.
I thought it was worth playing for a second. And
Luke Combs, who Danny g loves, one of the biggest
(30:03):
country stars and musicians in the world. He still plays
fantasy football with his childhood friends. Yeah, and the punishment,
did you see this? I did, and it's really funny.
Punishment was, if it's in my algorithm, I don't really
listen to country music. Yeah, it's a pretty famous clip.
The punishment was the losers in his fantasy league had
to come on stage and sing at one of his
concerts in front of an arena of people. Oh, I
(30:25):
would be so nervous. I want to play clip of it,
and then we'll go to Dan Bayer. Now before we
go into the next song.
Speaker 5 (30:31):
A regularly schedule programming, I've got a little extra segment
that I want to do. And we've never done this before.
Hopefully we'll never do it again. You're about to see why.
So I've been in a fantasy football league with some
of my best friends from high school for twelve years now,
and last year we decided that whoever lost was gonna
(30:54):
have to come on stage and sing with me tonight brutal. Now,
lucky for me, there was a scoring issue in the
last game, and my two best friends in the whole
world both have to come out and sing in front
of you guys tonight. And it's about to happen, and
I am so excited about it. These guys have been
(31:15):
nervous about this for a long time.
Speaker 1 (31:22):
I would be so nervous. Put on mad blue Sway shoes,
Buddy in the plane, in the plane of damn to Blues,
in the middle of the paring ray. All right, you
can cut it, Sam, it so stick. Won't you look
(31:42):
down for me? All right, damn fire, Let's do an update, Buddy,
I love me.
Speaker 9 (31:52):
Sorry.
Speaker 4 (31:52):
I'm a big fan of walking in.
Speaker 1 (31:54):
Yeah, that's a brutal punishment.
Speaker 4 (31:56):
Honey, baby, that's very funny. That's very Funny's pukan in Memphis.
We used to make in Turns interns on the j
Moore Show years ago on Fox Sports Radio. That would
be their last. They would have to do some karaoke.
Not in front of fifty thousand or however. We're at
the Luke Combs concert this past weekend. But when they're
(32:17):
right in front of you, it's different. If you're just
buy a microphone. The other thing that I didn't like
is any trying to make it funny, like at the end,
you know, I think you made it through, but at
the beginning was masterful. That was great. I love it
great punishment. Scott's Service may have time to sing some
songs with Luke Combs because he's no longer the Mariner's manager.
Fired today.
Speaker 1 (32:37):
They went on a slide on a nine game road.
Speaker 4 (32:39):
Trip that saw them just win one game and now
fall five games back of the Astros in the Al West,
and Wilson's going to take over for the rest of
the season. Yankees got a big win today over the Guardians.
Final score six nothing. Aaron Judge home run number forty
eights on the season for the Yankees.
Speaker 1 (32:57):
He's on pace for sixty one.
Speaker 8 (33:00):
Again.
Speaker 1 (33:00):
Yes, yeah, it's incredible this season.
Speaker 4 (33:03):
Who do you guys think is more popular? Right? And
just kidding? Cardinals blank the Brewers three nothing. Nationals over
the Rockies eight three. Comes down the Tigers ten to two,
and the Race picked up a victory. Excuse me, the
A's picked up a victory over the Race today. Final
score in Oakland three to one. Falcons have made corner
aj Torella second ice paid corner in the NFL and
(33:24):
a four year deal with eighty one million dollars. The
Washington Commander's tradered wide receiver Johan Dotson to the Eagles
Eagles getting Dotson and a fifth rounder, Commanders getting a
third and two seventh rounders. Aaron Rodgers is not going
to play on Saturday against the Giants, neither well the
rest of the Jets starters two preseason games tonight. Iowa
head football coach Kirk Farnson, an assistant, will be suspended
for the team's season opening game against Illinois State over
(33:47):
a portal violation in the recruitment of quarterback Cade McNamara.
First round of the BMW Championship delayed by weather. Right
now Keegan Bradley has the lead at six hunderd power
Hideki Matsuyama, playing the final hole of his first round
as one shot back at five under guys. Oh and
Rick Patino had his office robbed on Tuesday. Saint John said,
(34:09):
coach missing a sword, some memorabilia and also a bottle
of wine. Back to you who.
Speaker 1 (34:17):
Stole a sword? Jamie Leanister was a pirate breaking there,
Robin Hood, Robinhood Prince and my sind me sword a
pirate pirate, bro You gotta be looking for pirates. He
gotta be to look out for stole The cops are
vying the Tigerians. Why does he have a sword right.
(34:37):
Thank you, Dan, and Dan you mentioned the Atlanta Falcons.
I saw a list of breakout players in their second
year and Jehon Robinson's on the top of that list.
Do you think I think he's going to have a
breakout year two?
Speaker 9 (34:50):
I was.
Speaker 4 (34:50):
I was really high on Bijon Robinson. And then there
was a report yesterday, I believe from the Athletic that
says that the Falcons still may try to limit his
touches to around sixteen to twenty a game, with Lger
getting a big chunk of that. But still you'd have
to think they're going to be more effective in this
offense as opposed to what Arthur Smith was running.
Speaker 1 (35:07):
No doubt, no doubt. Thank you, Dan Buyer. Have a
great night, buddy. We do want to talk some bo
Nicks and some Broncos. We'll get to that before the
end of the show. Live from the tyrack dot Com studio,
Cavino and Rich Now. Draftkinks has many ways bud to
play fantasy football, from playing weekly contest to the newest
games at DraftKings like pick six and speaking of fantasy football,
(35:30):
Travis Kelcey, Sam Laporta, Mark Andrews George Kittle all up
at the top of the board for fantasy tight ends.
Will brock Bowers emerge as a top tier tight end?
Danny g I know he thinks brock Bauers is going
to be a top tier tight end. I'm going I'm
going my dude Kittle because I feel like as long
as every day that passes that Ayuk's not on the
Niners over Kelsey, Kelsey's gonna go quick. So I'm stick around.
(35:55):
You'll get Kittle. Well, listen, don't well, I don't want
to lose because I don't want to sing for Luke Combe.
Speaker 5 (35:59):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (35:59):
Well, don't you hate when your fantasy football seems to
be over before it started, Like you're running back tears
in acl your QB one is out to launch. Don't
worry again. There's all these great new ways to have
fun at DraftKings because DraftKings has ways to play fantasy
so that every week is like a whole new season,

(37:39):
is why the bonus pod over promises fantastic. But I
did want to talk about bo Nix and the realistic
expectations of the Denver Broncos. I hate to put the
anyg on the spot, but and last one standing this
week are Infamous Game. There was a question of name
(38:00):
of teams that were projected to come in under five hundred.
That's right, right, And they were like they were on
the list, but they were. Yeah, I think they projected
them to have six wins. But USA today sports take
from that what you will. It's USA Today. I've heard
some crazier things. Swe is it again?
Speaker 4 (38:19):
I want to say they projected them with six wins?
Speaker 1 (38:22):
I remember it was pretty bad.
Speaker 4 (38:23):
Yeah, I'll take the wow.
Speaker 1 (38:24):
Now. I know we all concentrate more on offense than defense. Correct,
That's like just the how people just look at sports.
Unless you're a true like super fanatic, you'd probably be
able to name more offensive players throughout the league than defense.
But am I crazy for thinking it was just a
couple of years ago that the Broncos had arguably a
top five defense, and people the sentiment was, they just
(38:46):
need a quarterback. They have a lights out defense, they
have a decent offense, but they just need a quarterback.
Speaker 3 (38:51):
We had heard that for a few years in a row,
I would say, but five years in the NFL, man,
it's like an other guy that says it all the time.
Speaker 1 (38:58):
The parody in the league did turnover so quick. The
teams are different all every year year to year, So
five years, forget about it. I'm looking at a current
rankings going into the season of NFL defenses and the
Broncos are in the bottom five. So they fell off
so defensive if you believe all that. I again, you
(39:21):
never really know because you're like, well what does that?
What does that even mean? But multiple rankings from Pro Football,
for Too, Fox, the CBS, they're all ranking the Broncos
bottom tier, which is a far departure from a couple
of years ago. I know, a lot changes, like you said,
but that image you have in your head, like, well,
the Brogos defense will keep him in games, will they?
But bow Knicks is the one quarterback this preseason, you know,
(39:44):
Kayleb Williams had some fun moments when you're like, dude,
look at him scramble and roll left and throw a touchdown.
But bow knicks very productive.
Speaker 3 (39:51):
He looks really good, and you got to remind yourself
he's twenty four years old, so he's he's a mature rookie.
And even though he's looked this good in preseason, you
do have to pump your brakes just slightly because he's
seen vanilla defenses. He's not been chased all over the
field by Max Crosby or guys like that yet, So
(40:11):
we'll see. But everything points to the fact that he
is going to be a successful NFL QB.
Speaker 1 (40:17):
The best thing he has in his corner is when
the Broncos pretty much laid it all out for like
chem Payton were an offensive team, and Sean Payton will
be good for bo Nicks, But is the receiving core
of Sutton, Josh Reynolds and Mims Junior gonna gonna be
what's enough for that Broncos team to even compete? Or
(40:39):
like you said when we played that game the other day,
So many factors too, though, Like their chemistry is one.
If you were to lock in, they're clicking. If you
were to lock in in Vegas, like I will guarantee
you these five teams are under five hundred. I think
the Patriots, the Broncos, which, by the way, what a
what a hilarious departure from the two thousands when Manning
and Brady run those teams. I would say Broncos, Patriots, Cardinals.
Speaker 4 (41:06):
Dan.
Speaker 1 (41:06):
If you had to bet your co's life savings on
five teams that will be under five hundred. Patriots, Broncos, Cardinals. Oh,
that division is so close that can Panthers Panthers. Panthers
won't be there yet. However, there are people that think
the Panthers could compete because that division so meager. So
I'll go Panthers with you there. But when you go
(41:27):
question marks at the quarterback position, Yeah, he's good. Will
he connect with those receivers? We don't know, And just
based on the competitiveness of and he's a rookie and
the question mark of the defense being so bad, you
have to factor, you have to assume you're right there
with the Broncos.
Speaker 3 (41:43):
Rich, it's worse than I thought they had. The Raiders
USA today did at six and eleven, the Broncos at
four and thirteen.
Speaker 1 (41:49):
Yeah, I remember thinking it was I was like wow.
So I mean if you were if you had to
be a betting man and say, all right, Vegas, I'm
gonna bet these five teams are under five hundred. Pats, Bronco, Arizona,
you go, Giants, Panthers, and I'm going you know, it's funny.
I'm thinking Giants only because even though the Vikings are
(42:09):
in the toughest division, you could easily say, well, the
Vikings got to play the Bears, the Packers and the
Lines both twice each and have a pretty tough schedule.
I don't see Daniel Jones in this team winning more
than nine games. So I'll go Giants till all right, well,
hit us up at Covino and Rich. Remember join us
on Fox Sports Radio YouTube page right now. Even that,
you baby, you win the Promised Land.
