When we became friends, I feel like we couldn't really
be friends until I watched Blood and Blood Out do
it and I throw back Thursday. You quote that so
much after football watch some blood in Blood Out. I
think it's available for the first time ever on Hulu
and uh man, we'll get to it tomorrow on weekend Hobnobbin.

(00:43):
But if you're not watching bed Monkey with Vince Vaughan,
you're missing out. Danny g I'm so glad you're on
board because that show is it makes you realize how
much we miss Vincewan.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
Yeah, it makes me miss uh Chevy Chase too. Well,
that's very sad. You're at Iowa.

Speaker 1 (00:57):

always said that, Yeah, I owe you some money. No

(01:18):

your kids. We use them here at the show. Great
people at rapid radios dot com and now you can

(01:40):
they're really cool. We have him here at the studio
and when Rich says our good pals, he's not lying.
We partied with him yesterday. They're here you know today,
I know, just hanging around Fox Sports Radio somewhere. And
it got us thinking because as a kid, the thought
of walkie talkies, like I said, my never worked as
good as your upstanding, and I would have my I'm
taking me to the army and Navy Store just to

(02:02):
buy like cool real I wanted real walking talkies. I
mean I got them now a wrap radios, but the
ones I would get never worked the way I wanted
them to.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
Yeah, I think that Gi Joe one we had worked
because of the big bass it had with the big antennae.
Because otherwise, if you just had two small walkie talkies,
you're right. Usually the distance was real weak, doing little
morse codes to nobody. No one wanted to play.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
You're trying to play hot and secret man hunt in
your neighborhood with your Buzzy's Like, yeah, these don't have
no range. So because we were talking about those so much,
we started thinking about like old school electronics that maybe
some of us forgot about, right, trying to unlock some
memories here throwing it back on a Thursday, Old school
and fifty hits, How about this? One of my favorite
things was the old school like nineteen eighties. It may

(02:46):
have it may have been one of those late seventies
things that like my uncle passed down and I ended
up with. I stole it from my grandma's house or something.
But those old school electronic football games, they were just
little red dots you know I'm talking about. I remember
those the white plastic handheld electronic football games, and then
they had baseball, Like I would love those as a kid,

(03:08):
And this is like, this is pre game boy sort
of thing. Obviously, this is about as primitive as a
football game as you can get. It was just red
dots on a little screen, electronic football, old school electronics
only God, that's what it looked like. Yeah, there was
base I had the baseball one. But again, these are
like classics. Now apparently you could buy them like for

(03:28):
nostalgic reasons. Phones are all lit. So we're going to
go to you guys at Fox Sports Radio, your favorite
old school, perhaps forgotten electronic I'm gonna throw two out
there and then we'll go to the feedback. I remember
in the mid nineties, maybe towards the late nineties, a

(03:49):
rich Way Rich hold on before you say late nineties, right, Yeah,
I said the electronic football. Did you ever have any
of these electronic baseball ones? So I have that one
like I did have that one. This Calico want I
have this? Yes, they're just like just red dots on
the diamond and everything. I had this by Calico, their
vintage eighties electronic toys. Sorry, no, I was going to

(04:11):
take you back to the nineties. Yeah, did anyone else
have this same story, because I'm sure you did. You
ended up getting your first beeper and your mom was
probably like, what are you doing drugs? And you're like, no, mom,
everyone's got a beeper. Did you have a beeper? I
had a beeper for a long time, for a long one.
Dandy G absolutely had. Dany G probably had like a

(04:31):
whole beeper case to it. Then he probably had two
beepers at least at the same time.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
When we graduated from Beeper's. Radio was banging at the time,
especially with the Top forty in the hip hop, R
and B formats, and we had the Motorola two ways.

Speaker 1 (04:46):
That was the.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
First texting really that existed because they were built for
you to text messages to each other regular phones.

Speaker 1 (04:54):
Remember you had to press eat watch a couple of
time the cordy keyboard. Yeah, look at any joh rovideo.

Speaker 2 (05:01):
We thought we were so cool because at a radio convention,
Jay Z would be there mixing it up with the
program directors, the music directors, and you would butt these
things up against each other to trade contacts. So whenever
the rappers or singers gave you their contact on the
motor Motorola two way major day.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
Old school when fifty hits old school electronics before we
go to your phone calls in just two seconds eight
seven seven ninety nine on Fox. I just want to
like tie sports into one. Yeah, I don't know if
you consider it electronics. That's why I'm bringing up it's
kind of funny because it was digital. Did every kid
have Did Santa Claus bring at least one time the
baseball that you held down that took the miles per

(05:39):
hour for you? And you swore you, we swore you
were going to light up the what you thought you
were doc good and then you're like, no, I'm gonna
hit ninety miles per hour with this bad boy. Of course,
that never gave you the miles per hour, gave you
a number that you had to like generate on the
chart into miles per hour that I never knew how
to do a chanstasting, but I did have one. But

(05:59):
I and as far as phones, listen, we all love
our iPhones or your androids or whatever you have. I'm
an iPhone guy, okay, But the phone that I thought
was the coolest because it was one of my first
Oh the Sports Illustrated Football phone. Now, but that was cool,
I remember because you flipped it open. The star Tek.
Do you remember the black Star Tech phone? To me,

(06:20):
that was the coolest because you would make your call
and then close it. I mean, you felt like you
were the coolest dude with your Star Tech. Well, now
we go to you old school and fifty hits again,
old school electronics? Where do you want to start? Kobe
and Apple Valley? What's up?

Speaker 3 (06:34):
Man?

Speaker 1 (06:34):
Convino? Rich?

Speaker 4 (06:36):
Hey, what's up?

Speaker 5 (06:37):
Fellas?

Speaker 4 (06:38):
What's going on in the house on the slowback? That's
that's right? Hey, So two things real quick, y'all remember
so forty five remember in television like did you guys
ever have in a television.

Speaker 5 (06:52):
That was like free and story?

Speaker 4 (06:54):
Like you have like a boxing game? Talk about analog
and they just want to throwbacks, likes the man with
the tape that went into your tape deck so you
could play you did?

Speaker 1 (07:04):
Why you still have a t I remember, I've known Kino,
I've known Cavino so long. Then when we first met,
I remember we were working in New York City and
you had you would take a walkman to work. Every day.
I took go a disc man with the Mega bass
the anti skip. It would drain the battery. If I
listened to one album and hit the bass up, the
battery would drain and have that canue batteries just a

(07:26):
one CD listened. But he he unlocks a memory too.
Within television. My uncle who was doing well growing up
at the time, had laser disc players in the eighties.
They're like giant albums, laser dis players, and he had
in television and in television boxing was one of the
cool games that he speaks of. I remember that, man,
that's some great stuff. Let's go to Colorado. What's up, Garrett,

(07:46):
Garrett and Rich what's up?

Speaker 6 (07:48):
Fellas? Thank you for everything you do. In the afternoon,
I had three quick ones for you and you stole one.
So you're talking about like the Calico the handheld we
called those Tiger handheld games. Yeah, and they had like
Ninja Turtles and where It's and like all.

Speaker 1 (08:00):
The things Tiger did a lot of those.

Speaker 6 (08:03):
I remember that, Yeah, you stole my pregame boy Era
and then number two, I would say, which was popular
with all the little girlies on the block, was bopp
It Pop.

Speaker 1 (08:10):
It was pop It Electronic. Yeah it was yeah. Oh
I don't think I knew that spots like of course
it was well Rich, I got confused because Rich was
a skip Yeah I Rich had a skipp and I
remember a po go ball, Yeah I did. I was
good at the po goo ball.

Speaker 7 (08:25):
All right?

Speaker 1 (08:25):
Who else? We got? Trip in Vegas, will be there
this weekend. What's up trip?

Speaker 8 (08:30):
Hello, gentlemen, look forward to seeing you this weekend. Uh.
I got a couple. And then I want to piggyback
on your Mattel football. Remember when they came out with
the green version where you could actually pass and you
go backwards. That was great instead of the white versions.
But then my, uh my, other two things would be
Simon playing Simon.

Speaker 1 (08:46):
Oh yeah, hell yeah, Simon says, And.

Speaker 8 (08:50):
Then I think, well two quick ones, Cheddy Ruxton would
be another one, and then the last one would be uh.
We had one of the Texas Instruments Odyssey. It was
like before targ It was like some type of computer,
but you could play baseball and other games.

Speaker 1 (09:03):
Dude, I know exactly what you're talking about it and
I'm so glad you brought that up, because Texas Instruments
is another one of those brands that was on my list.
I wasn't sure anyone was going to say it. As
a kid, remember the teachers would say, you got to
learn how to do math, because what are you gonna
do carry a calculator in your pocket all the time?
I mean little did they know we'd have a full
on computer in our pocket. Yeah exactly. But every kid,

(09:24):
at least every kid that I knew, had a weak
ass little kid calculator called the little Professor and it
was a Texas Instrument calculator and it was some like
professor dude with a mustache. But do you remember this
rich was very eighties. It was a very eighties little
kid calculator. That then after that, if you were in
high school in the nineties or two thousands, before everyone

(09:45):
had stuff on their smartphone, you remember the TI eight two,
TI eight three, Like I always had to get one
of those like expensive calculators. Hold on, am I not?
Am I mistaken here to think that Texas Instruments also
made the speak, can spell and speak and read. I
see you, Pete. Remember which word? Which word? The kid?

(10:11):
They probably spelled out dirty words? Yes, if you if
you not found I had all that stuff man Et
put that to light too. I had the yellow one
first that speak and read and speak and spell. Those
were big deals back then. I know Rich was on
to his Teddy ruxman. I was way into my speaking read. No,
I had. I had an Alf. Oh, I had an

(10:32):
Alf doll that you put cassettes in his back and
he would tell you stories. You know, Alf, the number one, uh, Alf,
the guy that Trump was talking about the other night,
and all the cats and dogs. So again, old school electronics,
because we've come a long way, these new wonkye talkies.
It sounds crazy, but again, national LTE coverage, no subscription.
You could talk to people across the country with these things,

(10:54):
you know, and think of how this all started. These
silly things we're talking about now. Yeah, and are good pals.
Rapid radio has got us thinking about the old school electronics.
Let's go to Jennifer and Michigan. What's up, jen?

Speaker 3 (11:07):
Hi, guys. You mentioned the discman, But I go to
some consoles, of course, the Atari, Sega, Nintendo. My brother
has almost all of those, and I had a few.

Speaker 1 (11:22):
You know, they have simulators now where you could play
all those games. Yeah, oh, emulators, Yeah, emulators like that. Now,
if you downloaded to your phone or Buddy Bursh, you
think he's there working hard on stuff. He's playing RBI
Baseball on his phone. He has an emulator on his phone,
all the Nintendo games on his phone. What's called when

(11:44):
you think about all this old technology. There's all types
of companies. So I'm not going to promote one unless
they're doing something for us. But we've been talking about
those companies where you take your old VHS tape you're
old what do you call it, like the ones your
parents have, like the or your VHSC those little ones,
and you digitize all of them because those will eventually
go bad. So if you have old VHS tapes of

(12:05):
like Thanksgiving ninety four, like get that, get it done? Yeah,
digitize them? What do you got?

Speaker 9 (12:11):
I was Sam Well, just our previous caller from Michigan.
I had something growing up, Sega game Gear, which was
one of the first color displays, well before Nintendo game Boy.
Remember that game Boy came out game Boy Color, which
was this display wasn't even that great. The Sega game
Gear was amazing. It used seriously like four D batteries
at once and to be gone. But you could you
could plug it in and just have it be running

(12:33):
off the wall. But the game Gear was one of
the first handheld devices with the color display, and that
was a big thing for me.

Speaker 1 (12:39):
Who was Everyone knew someone that loved their sidekick. Do
you remember the cell phone? The sidekick? It like flipped
open and it was like sideways. Can I tell you
I do remember that, and I appreciate all the phone calls.
But I have all these thoughts coming back again getting
nostalgic throwback Thursday. One of the best trades I ever made.
I did trade a Cludo Washington for Roberto Clemente when

(13:03):
I was a kid. That was a good one. You
taste me. You took advantage of the dumb kids in
your neighborhood. Yeah, because they didn't know who Bob Clemente was,
but they knew Clondel Washington, they knew Willie Randolph. So
I was traded on current ones for great old ones.
But yeah, another great trade though. I had these like
I think they're like Tonka Stomper toys whatever in the eighties.
We were talking eighties, right, they were stompers, I believe

(13:25):
they were called. There were battery operated four by four
trucks and they could ride on their rims and they
could just they would just ride up little fake mountains.
They were called stompers, right, Rich, Yeah, I had one,
and I traded a kid in third grade. I'm not
kidding you for a panoramic Nintendo screen Nintendo game handheld.
I always say it made me think of it. Before

(13:45):
the Game Boy, Nintendo had a like battery op operated
handhelds that worked on a panoramic mirror screen. And I
have a Popeye one from eighty eighty three something. I remember, Pope,
I remember that. Still have it till this day. One
of those weird things I kept. We're talking about early
electronics here on the Cavino and Rich Show, and we're

(14:06):
going back to your phone calls. Yeah, Phillip in Utah,
what's up, buddy, Fox Sports Radio?

Speaker 5 (14:12):
So I got a few you guys already touched on.
We did have all the Tiger electronics. But my dad,
he actually gave me and my buddy some walkie talkies
that were bought at the Army shur plus store. So
we're walking around with these things. We put antennas there's
the size of a football, and of course everyone's making
fun of us, but I'll be darn if I couldn't
sit at my house. He considered his house across town.

(14:35):
Hear each other crystal clear and then one pace in
nineties technology that I still used today is I have
a nineties Fox Body with Origin original everything. I still
have to use the take decade after on my cellphone.

Speaker 1 (14:50):
I got it. I got one. Thank you by the way, Philip,
thank you, but he got he me. Do you think
that what I've seen the meme flowing around recently? Because
now you got a new car, and your car will
come with like bow speakers, and you got the big
touch screen and a you know, a Tesla BMW, a
Honda Ford, whatever car you have. Most new cars come
pretty well equipped. Most car sound system, most new cars

(15:13):
you need no adjustments. It's perfect as is touch screen
with satellite FM, AM all your inputs. Back in the day,
you'd have. You weren't anybody unless you were able to
take the face off your radio and bring it wherever
you went. Thatchable face, detachable face before that, or detached
a whole system.

Speaker 2 (15:33):
I was gonna say, or the ones where it's the
screen flipped around.

Speaker 1 (15:37):
Yeah, car baller, Yeah, no, for sure, that was a
big deal back in the day, especially for guys like
Danny g if you cared about sound. Yeah, no one
kept the car original stereo in No, I had a
tend disc changer in the imagine now like they again,
they come so set up so there would never be

(15:58):
a reason old school election tronics. Remember when Glenn Goulia
but Jewles? Uh was it a CD player? Jewles? It's
a CD player? Remember that he was way ahead of
his time. Yeah, Glenn Goulia had all the cool, all
the cool electronics. Radio five place. Glen Gulia one of

(16:19):
the best jerks in movie history. It reminds me of you. Yeah, yeah,
Rich is the Glenn Goulia of the show. Let's go
to Marlee in New York State. What's up, Marley, Marley,
what's up?

Speaker 8 (16:32):
Yeah?

Speaker 10 (16:32):
Man? I got three three things real quick. The first
was the old school Aquarius computer.

Speaker 11 (16:39):
Man.

Speaker 10 (16:39):
My parents went out on a limb to get that
thing for me and my little brother so we could
do our homework on. And the printer only printed out
tick or tape receipts. So the third one, I mean
the second one, Hey, I insist on everybody still keep
an old school am FM boombox radio.

Speaker 7 (17:01):
I know, because it's hard to pick up a stations.

Speaker 10 (17:04):
There's something going on. They're taking am out of the
out of cars coming up.

Speaker 1 (17:09):
So hey, you know what, man, I think that's a
special sort of sentimental thought. I mean, I still have
my first boombox, I do. I still have it in
my parents' garage. But I tell him don't throw it away.
And my Dad's like, get these grab at my garage.
I'm like, leave it there, man, getting out and take
it home? Would you? Well, you think I'm gonna I
want to come to visit New Jersey and take this

(17:31):
boombox back to LA with me.

Speaker 12 (17:33):
Come on.

Speaker 1 (17:33):
But I still have my og boombox for sure.

Speaker 6 (17:36):
Man.

Speaker 1 (17:37):
Some old school electronics' going old school like we do
on Thursdays and tribute to our pals at rapid radios.
They got, you know, they got the new technolog got
the new stuff. Yeah, but it doesn't make us think
of how far we've come.

Speaker 2 (17:48):
I was telling you guys about the old walkie talkies
that my brother and I used. We thought we were
ballers with those. My stepdad when he thought he made
it big, he had a sharp pocket computer. They called it.
Look that up if you don't know what I'm talking about.
They were long, and people thought they were like little
sharm pocket computer, sharp pocket computer.

Speaker 1 (18:08):
Guarantee you saw one of these. He was cool. He
thought he was cool. You know what That made me
think of though? And what how every old school movie
had like the total jerk in the movie with a
car phone. Like, if you had a car phone in
the movie, you were the jerk of the movie. It
was always like the villainous guy, like he's got to come. No, Danny,
g I do remember these things. Yeah, look at these things,
rich look look at it. Oh, he probably had one

(18:29):
of those. Yeah, the sweet pens. He had LCD display
went all the way across. He probably had a cross
pen with a clock in it. He was the coolest. Oh,
hold on, hold on. It made me think of dang it,
you made me forget. Yes, he did. Joe in Seattle.
Let's let's wrap it fire, because I do want to
talk about Thursday night football tonight. But reminiscence is always fun.

(18:49):
What's up, Seattle?

Speaker 4 (18:51):
Hey, how's it going on?

Speaker 13 (18:52):
This is way out there all right? Do you guys
remember Alfie the Robot. It was a late nineteen eighties
early nineties little robot toy, right, and your parents would
give it to you and had these insert cards.

Speaker 1 (19:04):
Yes, I remember the stupid thing. Yes, I looked it up.
Yes I remember that.

Speaker 12 (19:08):
Yeah I do.

Speaker 1 (19:08):
I never had it there. I remember. How do you
spell it? Alphie the mini robot A L P H
I E by play school. That's hilarious. Yeah, it came
out around eighty three. You know, we all have you
know a lot of people don't even have eight A
lot of people don't even have computers any mortgage. You
have an iPad or an iPhone. Do you remember the
first game you played on a computer? In elementary school?

(19:29):
If we got done with our work, we were allowed
to play Oregon Trail? Yeah? Was that? Was that the
standard in your school too? Or now? One of my
friends Oregon? Yeah, Oregon Trail. Oregon. Yeah, you get to
the East coast, they say Oregon. My friend had a
Commodore sixty four, which was big back in the day,
and he had a game called Ship Poker. And I
never rooted so hard for my friend to win that game,

(19:52):
just to see some digital boobs. Yeah, absolutely so, Yeah,
I remember all those early games. Uh, let's do a
little rapid fire. Let's do crossfire on a throwback there.
We'll do crossfire next, and we'll also talk about there'say
net football tonight. Of course, get back in that football mindset.
I have the perfect teaser bet for tonight, there'say Net football.
I feel like you can't lose. So we'll go over

(20:13):
some NFL tonight and take the rest of your feedback next.

That's what we're doing right now, Reminiscent doing it back
like we always do on a Thursday, Old School in
fifty hits live from Tyraq dot com Studios. Big shout
out to our boys at Rapidradios dot com. Like Rich
said earlier, it's always cool when the people that support
our show are just great people, and they really are

(22:50):
at Rapid Radios. But they took these walkie talkies to
the next level again, national coverage, so no matter where
you are, you'd be talking to somebody else across the country.
It's crazy in an emergency Rapid Radios. I always had
these thoughts too, Rich of like if I'm skiing or something,

(23:10):
I want to keep in touch with my buddies. We're
cruising down the mountain together, like Yo man on Milwaukee
talkie's never worked, but were wrapping radios gonna work? So
that got us thinking on a throwback Thursday, because we
always throw it back old school in fifty hits, we reminisced,
we get you involved, eight seven, seven ninety nine out
fox some of your old school your primitive pre rapid
radios technology, your old school electronics. Oh, by the way,

(23:33):
this morning, yeah here on the West coast. I'm guessing
people around the country don't know. Danyerg. Where were you
when the earthquake happened? Were you getting ready? Like will
your wife get ready in the morning? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (23:43):
So my wife and I had just gotten out of bed,
but I was still in the bedroom, thank goodness, because
a little baby or big baby Cove was still asleep.
So when that earthquake happened, it sholted our place really good.

Speaker 1 (23:56):
You mean you mean that modern day alarm clock the earthquake.
I was, so we kicked my house rich this time.

Speaker 2 (24:03):
The alert on the phone didn't come until right after
the earthquake.

Speaker 1 (24:07):
That was earthquake.

Speaker 2 (24:08):
Yeah, And so we were like, oh okay, I phone
buzzed right after it was over.

Speaker 1 (24:13):
And to quote Covino's dad, I'm not kissing ass, but
that's when my wife goes, don't you have those rapid
radio things? Can we need like in case things go wrong?
Is another? Great? Why you kissing? It really is because
my wife's they're so good. Why don't you get me one?
I told you my wife, my wife, you know my
dad's anytime she watches how would your dad see anytime

(24:36):
we watch? Any time of the end of the world thing.
My wife bought a filter to change our pool water
into drinking water. She's like, we need the rapid radio
she bought like she's a bunker. I was like, she's
a slight survival water. So if anything goes wrong, guys
just cut to my house. Okay, I don't know if
you would consider this old school electronics, but I do
want to mention this. We talked about the digital handheld
football games, right, what about those magnetic ones? Do you

(24:58):
remember those? The players terrible? So bad?

Speaker 11 (25:03):
All? Right?

Speaker 1 (25:04):
Of course it never worked. I had those. And how
about this? Do you consider the old school Cassio watches
like electronics? Because I had one in the eighties. Get this,
I had one in the eighties. I say this to
nobody believes me. It's true. I had a Casio watch
like I was inspector gadget, and I would say, Danny
g your your number would come up on my phone
on my watch and it would doll your number beet

(25:26):
beep beep, beep, beep beep and doll your phone if
I put the watch up to the phone, because the
phones worked through the code through the sounds, and it
would doll your number. I don't believe. I don't believe
those watches were way ahead of their time. I remember
my best bud, I never had one, but he had
the watch that he could save everyone's phone number in it.
That's what I'm talking about. But mine dialed the phone.

(25:48):
True story. DP. What's up man?

Speaker 15 (25:50):
I just want to know if we have to bring
a candle good to richest Christmas party this year? Just
sck up for your wife. How's about thirty seconds behind?

Speaker 10 (26:01):
You know?

Speaker 2 (26:02):
One really quicker? It's one radio shack. Invention that my
brother and cousin went ham with was the phone tap.
It was like the little suction cup thing you could
put on an old school phone. Yeah, and it connected
to your boombox and if you had to play and record,
you could record yourself on the phone. So pre jerky boys,
they were crank calling people and recording it and then

(26:24):
playing it back over and over, just dying laughing at
all their crank calls.

Speaker 1 (26:28):
I was your brother, the Egyptian Magician. He was the
original Chisel, just Danny. I used to do prank foe
calls all the time. I would call bowling alleys and
be like, do you guys have ten pound balls?

Speaker 12 (26:39):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (26:39):
Well how do you walk? That was well, you could
do it. That was the I was twelve. So again,
because of our rapid radios, we keep messing around with
your jokes. Haven't gotten any better, I know, right because
of that again, thanks again, rapid radios got us thinking
about the early days. We wrap it up, We get
you involved your phone calls at eight seven, seven ninety
nine on five, Paul Carolina, go ahead, what's hot? It off?

Speaker 11 (27:01):
Well, anyway's going on? Tell us good to talk to you.
A member of the Bill's Mafia. It's getting ready for
the game tonight. But I wanted.

Speaker 16 (27:10):
I know, a board game really isn't electronic.

Speaker 11 (27:13):
But I'm forty four and my brother's forty seven, and
we grew up on a game called VCR quarterbacks.

Speaker 8 (27:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 11 (27:21):
I don't know if you guys remember.

Speaker 16 (27:22):
But the board folded out like a football field, and
you had cards that you would pick up, and each
card was a play, but most of it was on
the VCR. Every time you kicked the card would say VCR,
you click.

Speaker 11 (27:33):
Play on the VCR and would be like a three
or four second historical football play. And whatever the results
of the play was on the tape was the results
of your results of your playing the game. And my
brother and I twenty something years later, thirty or something
years later, still talk about and what.

Speaker 16 (27:46):
A great, great time that way.

Speaker 1 (27:47):
Hey dude, well you know what it goes for in
very good condition right now. I came out in the
eighty a half one do you nineteen eighty six, and
I'm looking at it just to refresh my memory. I
totally remember that. I just never had it.

Speaker 15 (28:01):
You could watch the entire tape and know all the plays,
but you still had to play the game yet. But yeah,
it was great.

Speaker 1 (28:06):
Thanks for sharing, man, that's awesome. Let's be let's be
quick on this. We do want to talk a little
bit about Thursday night football. Phil Saint Louis. What's up, Phil?

Speaker 12 (28:13):
What up?

Speaker 1 (28:13):
Phil?

Speaker 17 (28:14):
What up, guy? I strolled my photo on the vibrating
football game. But how about the slot car race car tracks?
Those were a big thing, and then the walk mean
radio that was also big for me.

Speaker 1 (28:25):
Dude, did you get those slot car racing things like
every Christmas? Love them for a minute. They'd overheat and
break like in the same day. I remember having a
night ride night Rider one. They were supposed to do
loop de loops. Oh, I love them, though, I'd break
them all on the same day. Andy, Mississippi, what's up? Andy? Hey?

Speaker 12 (28:39):
What up?

Speaker 1 (28:39):
Man?

Speaker 11 (28:39):
Hey?

Speaker 4 (28:40):
Guys?

Speaker 1 (28:40):
Yep?

Speaker 5 (28:42):
Tell them about the football game.

Speaker 7 (28:44):
The white one was Mattel Football one, yes, and they
had a green one that was football.

Speaker 10 (28:51):
Too, And I also had the baseball.

Speaker 7 (28:54):
Which was ten. And to make sure no one got mine,
I'd switch the recovers so I had a tan cover
on the green and green on the team.

Speaker 1 (29:03):
Do you still have the vintage seventy eight Mattel football
one because it's worth twenty bucks? Go get it one
last fo let's go one last phone call. You want
to go to Kentucky or Riverside. Let's go to Kentucky.
What's up Steve?

Speaker 18 (29:15):
Hey, Steve, Hey, guys back in nineteen eighty when those
other Mattel's handhilds came out. There was one that I
got for Christmas was a boxing It was made by Bambino.
It was like a It wasn't a handheld you could
hold in your hands, but you could sit on a
table and have your buddy sit next to you and
you'd be boxing against you.

Speaker 1 (29:34):
So it was pretty cool the table top times. Yeah,
Bambino boxing. I totally remember that thing.

Speaker 18 (29:40):
Yeah, that was awesome. That The other one is the
other thing is in between when I had everybody had
the beepers and the regular cell phones.

Speaker 12 (29:47):
Was a bag phone.

Speaker 18 (29:49):
You take it, plug it in your car and charge
it up, and you carry it around use it. But
it had its own antenna and stuff.

Speaker 11 (29:55):
It was a bag phone.

Speaker 1 (29:56):
Hey, dude, you know what's so cool about these conversations.
I thought I was the only kid in the world
that had that Bambino boxing game. You're not. There's one
of them, the only kid on the planet with that.
I'm so glad to hear you had that too. Well
fun reminiscing about thee By the way, here's how this works.
We can't get to everybody we want to. We love
you all. I'll give you all a hug. But you
can chime in at Covino and Rich hashtag Cavino's the man.

(30:18):
It's never gonna catch on, this never gonna cut out.
You can put your answers there at Covino and Rich
at Fox Sports Radio. I want to thank you guys
so much for playing along with us, and thanks again
to our buddies at Rapid Radios again, Darren and Tim, everybody,
the whole family. Thanks being part of this. We appreciate
you guys. Yeah, good time last night? Oh yeah, you
know how much I ate last night. I was a slob.
They were doing the past round food and anytime I

(30:40):
know everybody's talking about it. You see this guy? What
about Bob? Yeah? Rich, save some for someone else. White
wine was good as a good night. Let's go to
Dan Buy for an update. What's up? dB?

Speaker 15 (30:51):
You know the other great thing about the vc our
Quarterback game is the side of the box had like
a film reel and each square was a different helmet
from the mid nineteen eighties and oh I love helmets.

Speaker 1 (31:03):
It's so great. Hold on, Den, do you remember that
I was Sam absolutely so you gonna pull the Roger Goodell,
all right, I just missed it. It's all right, Sam,
That's all right.

Speaker 15 (31:18):
Phill's Dolphins tonight start Week two, eight fifteen Eastern Time.
Dolphins running back to Von Hn considered a game time
decision because of his ankle injury. There are reports that
Hn is going to play tonight for Miami. Bengals wide
receiver t Higgins missed another practice with this amstring injury,
but he had a chance to speak with ESPN and
says he doesn't understand why some fans think he's faking

(31:40):
his injury Because of his contract status. T Higgins is
playing the twenty twenty four season under the franchise tag
and then could become a free agent after this season.
Giants rookie wide receiver Molik Neighbors popped up on the
injury report today, limited with a knee injury. Brown's defensive
end Miles Garrett missed practice with a foot injury. He's
expected to place some though in Jacksonville. And let's talk quarterbacks.

(32:02):
Russell Wilson of the Steelers limited in practice with his
calf injury. No practice today for Packers quarterback Jordan Love.
In college football, the PAC twelve with its two teams
is expanding to six in the fall of twenty twenty six.
They're taking four schools from the Mountain West Conference to
join Oregon State in Washington State. Those four schools are
Colorado State, Boise State, Fresno State, and San Diego State.

(32:26):
Day baseball saw the Rockies win in Detroit against the
Tigers four to two. Tiger's now three and a half
back for the final wildcard in the American League. Astros
get a little breathing room in the Al West. They
topped the Ace today six to three. They're now four
up on Seattle for the lead. Their magic number to
clinch the division is thirteen.

Speaker 1 (32:42):
Guys. Back to you. Thank you, Dan Bayer, You're the man.
You are the man now, Rich. I know you're gonna
break it down Thursday night football. Super pumped about it.
I got a teaser bet that I think can't lose.

I don't want to see Rush he spot. You know,
I'm right here right him and our video guy Elijah
making fun of me. I mean, you're easy to make
fun of.

Speaker 6 (34:28):

drinks and him in fun last night. You're just a
weird Oh. I just never witnessed you like glunt nice.
You're just like the most hyper guy I ever met.
It's really is disgusting. Cavino and Rich welcome back having
Fun on a frowback Thursday, Fox Sports Radio Live from
Los Angeles. Thanks again to our friends at Rapid Radios

(34:49):
for bringing the fun. Darren and Tim and their wives
that can be part of our family. By the way,
here at Fox Sports Radio, John John what hell of
a bowler? And quick reminder Tomorrow we react to Bill's Dolphins.
Ye is live from Canelo, Berlanga Radio row from Vega Excited.

(35:14):
We need a Little Vegas weekend. We're overdue. Oh it's
a big fight weekend. Of course UFC has their thing
going on three oh six, but we're gonna bring it
to you live from Canelo Radio Row if you that's
gonna be fun, and we're gonna be debuting a new
fun NFL feature called Lock and Key. So more reasons
to join us tomorrow to get the weekend started, all right,

(35:36):
And another quick reminder, right after the show, in about
ten minutes, we go live and we interact. You could
watch what you hear on Fox Sports Radio's YouTube page.
Our bonus podcast, Over Promised. Now, obviously we had so
much fun on today's show, we didn't have time for everything,
so we fit it into over Promised because rich Over
promises things we don't get to. And we welcome Josh

(35:57):
on today's Rivera. Josh Rivera. You may know him from
Hunger Games, you may know him from West Side Story.
He was Chino in the remake, but now he's Aaron
Hernandez in The American Sports Story, which premiere is September
seventeenth on FX. It looks really good. People are gonna
love it, I think, and we also talk about the
worst things to forget when you pack, because I know
you can forget something when we go to Las Vegas tomorrow.

(36:19):
So i'llaw Jason Kelsey, who forgot his whole travel bag
for this first day on the job. So join us
on over promised again. Four pm on the West, just
a few minutes seven pm on the East. There's a
live chat and everything Fox Sports Radio's YouTube page. Now,
Rich break it down, brother, here we go tonight. I
will say on Sunday I was zeroing three. But last

(36:40):
Thursday and last Friday, these Thursday night teasers, I feel
like they're easy to nail. So let's do this. Courtesy
of Draftking Sportsbook, use our code cr show that's called
see our Show. New customers get that two fifty and
bonus bets. When you bet, it's five dollars and you
get one month of NFL Plus Premium for free. Now.
Right now, as we speak, the Dolphins are two and

(37:02):
a half point favorites. Now I'm not saying they're gonna
lose the game, but you know what I do like
a divisional matchup keeping close bills plus eight and a half. Okay, right,
plus eight and a half. Let's write it down over
unders forty eight and a half. Take that down to

(37:26):
forty two and a half over forty two and a half,
Bills plus eight and a half, twenty four to twenty
wins that bet in any direction you could think of
twenty seven. The reality is both teams just need to
score three touchdowns, yeah, which both offenses seems likely, right,

(37:47):
So I like the over when you tease it down
to forty two and a half. And I mean, listen
these divisional games, like you wouldn't be shocked if either
team one. That's why it's a two and a half
point spread. But when you get Buffalo and Josh Allen
getting more than a touchdown, I like the Bills plus
eight and a half. So here's what gingondering about though again,

(38:08):
and Dan Byer told us before eight, Chan looks like
it's gonna happen, but he's a little banged up with
the ankle. Same with Mostert. They were playing with a
lot of emotion last week after the incident with Tyreek Hill.
They're still in Miami so they didn't have to travel,
but that had an interesting week, interesting week, a lot
of noise there, But as Tyreek Hill said, that brought

(38:28):
him closer together would say sometimes the noise. Yeah, but
I'm thinking again that just gives him something to fight for.
And at what point, and We've been saying this for
the past three years here on Fox Sports Radiot, what
point does Josh Allen's antics work against him? It worked
for him last week. He saw him, you know, sacrifice
his body and make these crazy plays. But for every

(38:51):
time that works for him, one time he works against
him and he loses the ball. And you don't want
to give the Dolphins any opportunity when all that speed
to work against you, man, So it should it should
be a good game. So I think the Dolphins win
straight up. But I like what you had to say
about all the points going into today. I'm like everyone else.

(39:14):
I'm five hundred, I'm three and three niner, I got
the Niners on Monday night everything but Sunday I'm undefeated
and on Sunday I'm winless. Actually, the only thing you
were right about this week was Shannon Sharp. Yeah, you
were right, that was him. But yeah, no, so today's day,
I go over five hundred. So Danny g your your thoughts.
Do you like Bills getting eight and a half?

Speaker 2 (39:33):
I would feel way more comfortable if eight Chan was
healthy all the way. I read that Dolphins rookie running
back Jalen Wright is expected to be active tonight, and
then I saw a report. I don't know how much
of a difference it's gonna make Covino and Rich, but
an hour ago I saw a report that forty four
percent of fans inside Hard Rock are gonna be Bills fans.

Speaker 1 (39:53):
Wow, so that does play. That travels so well, That
does play into my eight and a half. Bills is
an under dog for more than a touchdown just feels right.
So I'll lock that in DraftKings sports book code. See
our show Bills plus eight and a half over forty
two and a half. Lock and load these teaser bets.
I'm undefeated so far. I can't say the same a
like I said about Parlay, speaking of yes, you know,

(40:15):
getting your action in, we're heading to Vegas. Are you
gonna put money down on anything or is there about
the fight or anything? And you can stands out to
the UFC boxing Parlay. Yeah, you got Canelo, you got
Sugar Shan O'Malley fighting in the UFC. I might go
Sugar Shane O'Malley Berlanga Parlay because Berlonga is such a
big underdog and the spot and I always do this

(40:36):
thing where we always bet the favorite in boxing for
a knockout in round six, seven or eight, and we've
had some success with that dumb strategy. It's always fun
to do a little extra action when you're in Vegas.
But then the one time I joined in on that
with you guys, you lost. Yeah, dang, that's sorry, Danny.
But hey, this weekend we will be in Vegas, So
if you're around and you want to get a drink

(40:57):
or say hi, or you know, play a little roulette
or something. I'm on a personal note, Danny G is
going to be there for the fight, right, Danny G. Yeah,
to leave on Saturday.

Speaker 2 (41:06):
Our son is a new Sooner in Oklahoma and it's
family Day on SATD.

Speaker 1 (41:10):
How cool was that?

Speaker 6 (41:11):
Right?

Speaker 1 (41:11):
So Danny G's gonna be with us on Friday in
Vegas for the broadcast, but he's leaving early Saturday, so
that means we'll have an extra ticket for the fight
most likely right able to do some random girl whoever
we give it to. Though, do you ever tell that
person that they were the second choice? Maybe we talk
about that tomorrow, like like like yesterday I went to
Lincoln Park, Right, I went with Rob. I love Rob,

(41:32):
but my first choice was my daughter. I never told
him he was my second choice. Like if someone says, no,
I got actual ticket to the Dodgers game, are you
assuming you're like seventh down there?

Speaker 3 (41:42):
Wrong?

Speaker 1 (41:42):
That's where I'm getting at, right, Like do you let
someone know this information? You keep it to yourself? You know,
but it makes you think, like when you get that invite,
were you the first choice? I'll give you first choice.
Our first choice was our buddy Wes, who lives in Vegas. Yes,
and then when he's like, im out of town, that's
when I set to Big Mic because I know Big
Mic said he's never been to a fight, so Big
Mike's I loved her. Maybe I'll make the trip. And
then if Big Mic doesn't go, then we're like, hey, io, Sa,

(42:05):
you want to make it to Vegas? Now your third choice.

Speaker 9 (42:08):
I asked Spot to go to a movie with me,
like a couple of weeks ago, guys like my fifth choice.
I was like, hey, Spot, you want to go to
see a movie from nineteen seventy seven? That's so funny
because Spat was probably like what I was really nice
of Sam. I can't believe he asked me you were
his fifth.

Speaker 1 (42:23):
He was on the list though. That's what i'mpl whyould
dress me? That's funny. So we do have this extra ticket.
I haven't figured out what we're doing yet. So it's
a big fight weekend, some big NFL tonight. Enjoy it,
Cavino and Rich Remember if you want to join us
for over Promised we do it next Interact live on
YouTube Fox Sports Radios YouTube page and we have a

(42:45):
special guest, Josh Rivera. He's playing Aaron Hernandez, which is
which is weird. Yeah, we'll see you guys in a
minute on the YouTube page and then Vegas tomorrow. Until
then I'll rive it there you baby, see you in
the over Promised land. Let's go back absolutely
