(00:21):
weekend and we hope you guys are having a great
week a great fall like humpty dumpty.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
Yeah, let's sign a great fall.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
Let's dive in to a little baseball. But before we do,
any takeaways from last night's Thursday and at Football, Danny
g I seem to be like mediocre on my Sunday picks,
but Thursday night, I'm nailing.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
Huh.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
Yeah, you and Coveno were both right with your bets.
At the end of the show yesterday, Cove had the
Giants keeping it close, and you had the under, and
I remember you saying the score could be like twenty
four to ten.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
Yeah, at twenty seventeen it was twenty fifteen, and we
did the under and we did the Giants cover. My
takeaway is it's hard to ascend. The Cowboys won. They're
two and two right, if they went one and three,
that would have been the weakest for the Cowboys. They
played good defense, but against the Giants, So what does
that really tell you. It's like, oh, hey, their defense

(01:13):
was all right, their run defense was on, But again
it's the Giants, so that's what we're comparing them.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
I saw a lot of the assessed, a lot.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
Of people criticizing if Daniel Jones makes a couple of
those passes, the Giants win that game. The Giants couldn't
punch the ball in the end zone. That was the story, right,
They got the you know, got into the red zone,
got into field goal position, couldn't couldn't punch it in,
And that's because.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
That's the story.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
The defense looklegas stepped up, But again, coch where are
they really We're still trying to figure that out.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
I know you'll feel this because you watched the preseason
version of Hard Knocks. It all got a glimpse into
Molak Neighbors being their top draft pick, and so a
lot of us across the country are invested in his
story and so to see him ball out these three
weeks and then have to go out of the game
of that injury towards the end of the game that stunk.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
Did anyone else also?

Speaker 1 (02:03):
And by the way, miliite Neighbors already looking like a
top ten receiver in the National Football.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
League for sure?

Speaker 1 (02:08):
And again, I'm a red Zone guy, so I don't
get to watch all the Giants games. Of course I
did last night, But when I'm watching red Zone, he's
just one of those names you constantly, constantly, constantly here
and talking about.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
He was making so many big plays.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
But did anyone else feel like the lack of not
concern but on the same player. So Michael Parsons and
Mylik Neighbors went down, and I love al Michaels, but
they just kept talking like no biggie.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
Meanwhile, Mylik Neighbors looks like he was passed out.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
Let's be honest, al Michael's at this point in his career,
it kind of sounds like nothing's a big deal.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
Yeah, listen, his voice to me means big game, oh
for sure. But I'm not saying he's checked out. That's
the wrong phrase, because I freaking love's.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
Desensitized to it a little bit.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
Maybe, So any did anyone else notice what Mylik Neighbor
was Just like he looked like he was limp playing
on the ground, and no one said anything.

Speaker 4 (03:04):
I did notice that Milik Neighbors got up slow a
couple at different times, but never once was anything mentioned,
especially on the last one. But I don't know who
even who just said it. But that's why you bring
in al Michaels Like, it's not for that, it's you
want to make your game sound bigger than what it is.
They're probably better play by play guys at this stage

(03:26):
of their game right now, but they don't bring that cachet.

Speaker 1 (03:29):
No, he's one of those guys that does make it
sound like a main event.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
You need that.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
Yeah, it's like when you bring in class James Lennon,
Junr or Michael Buffer. Was gonna say, Michael Buffer. If
it's not one of those two, it doesn't feel like
a main event. And al Michaels may not be the
al Michaels of old, but you're right, he still makes
it feel big.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
Here's a guy that I'm way high on right now.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
I'm gonna be Kevin Burkhar fan, but Danny, I've really
started to think Joe Davis who does the Dodgers games,
and he's.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
Now we're spoiled in southern California.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
It's not my cousin when the richest relatives just doing
better than him. I just think that Joe Davis and
I'll be a homer other than Gary keithan Ron and
baseball other than Gary Cohen.

Speaker 2 (04:08):
Joe Davis, to me.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
Is such a phenomenal baseball broadcaster and much like Kevin
Burkhart could do both.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
I think Joe Davis and Greg together and Greg.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
Olsen, I don't want to say it, I think they're
probably better than Burke Cart and what Brady has right now. Well, look,
there's always that next guy. I mean, you mentioned the
classy James Lennon Junior, I mentioned Michael Buffer. You realize
these guys are old, right, There's other dudes that are
good and on the come up. So a lot of
these young guys they got a big spot ahead of them.
If they could take it, it's theirs, it's stares to lose.

(04:40):
There's always the next person. For me as a fight
fan is Joey Martinez. I like Joey Martin is the
bald guy that's like Los.

Speaker 5 (04:48):
Angeles, Are you ready?

Speaker 2 (04:52):
He's got fans? Are you ready? He's that guy?

Speaker 1 (04:55):
And he's a nice guy. He might be and he
listens to us. He might be that next tutor David Diamonte.
Are they the next guy in football? Who's the next guy?
Might be Davis? I mean, Joe Davis has been doing
it for a while, but I feel like he's now emerging.
Like yo, he's legit. Iron Eagle people, I can this.
There's you know, Jim Nantz is a legend, but we
know him. Who are the guys on the come up
in the world of wrestling? Because I'm invested in that.

(05:16):
Vince McMahon, you are.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
Fox so good.

Speaker 1 (05:20):
We'll talk about that later, that documentary that's on Netflix.
By the way, when we were kids, it was all
about the Fink.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
Coming Do we are?

Speaker 1 (05:29):
Howard Finkel was the man. And now if you watch wrestling,
Samantha Irvin, Samantha Ivan's way hotter than the Fink. Yes,
she puts some gusto into all her introductions, way hotter.
Now there were other announcers in between, but again, these
people won't last forever in that industry. No, No, there's
always the next show. I mean we thought, always the

(05:52):
next Give the Dodgers. The Dodgers for years had the
greatest of all time always the next eighteen.

Speaker 3 (05:56):
You know, he's not a youngster and he's not new
to the game. But one voy I hear and it's
NFL football to me is Kevin Harlan and he's on
the Westwood One calls.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
Kevin Harlan's got a great yea. He's got such a
distinct voice. I wonder if non broadcasters, you know, guys
and girls that are listening to our show right now,
do they know or do they recognize who's on the
call for their game, Because when they do the pregame,
I'm like, all right, we got this guy today or
this girl today.

Speaker 2 (06:22):
To me, that sort of sets the tone.

Speaker 1 (06:24):
I feel like CBS, if that's their job, I feel
like some dude who's not excited about it was in
CBS and Fox feel different to me. Sunday night, Mike
Turrico and collins Worth. That feels different than a Monday night.
Much like how Dan Byer and I pay attention to uniforms,
I very much pay attention to the broadcast teams, and

(06:45):
it makes a big difference.

Speaker 2 (06:46):
That's these opinions.

Speaker 1 (06:47):
All the time on social media, people are bitching, complaining
people when your team in baseball has that Friday night
Apple TV game.

Speaker 2 (06:56):
Oh my god, the fans.

Speaker 1 (06:57):
Hate it because in baseball you're used to your guys
every day exactly exactly, Dan Bayer, you got a favorite
not to put you on the spot any NFL combo.

Speaker 4 (07:09):
You know, it's funny because I don't get to hear
as much now because we do the red Zone show
of the of the CBS and the the NFL. I've
actually thought Brandon Gordon does a really good job. So
he's not as big of a big of a name.
But I think Brandon actually did some EA sports stuff
in years past, but now it's done.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
I think he calls a really good game. So yeah,
no know who is like a Tony Romo light.

Speaker 1 (07:34):
I'm sure some people like, really, I think Mark Sanchez
is getting better. Have you seen Sanchez on a call yet?
You know he has personality. They're a younger guy, you're
probably already used to him like. It's the older guys
who've been watching for a long time to have to
make those adjustments. You know, these voices. It's all part
of why we love these football games. It's all part

(07:55):
of the it's all part of it. The experience. I
do wonder though, Cavino, is it because we are in
the world of sports, and you know, we love broadcasting.
So like to me, I think of my childhood, I'm
like Al Franken Dan Monday Night football, I think of
Madden in summer. All those things meant something that's a
big part of everybody's childhood and memory, and again that

(08:15):
set the standard for everyone.

Speaker 4 (08:17):
I think those those things obviously meant a lot to us.
But what I also find is interesting. You know, and
I just mentioned Brandon Goddon's name, and you brought up
Joe Davis, who and Greg Olsen doing the number two team.
Don Kirky and Bob Trumpy were just as part of
my childhood as dick Enburg was in hearing those guys,
or Charlie Jones doing a West Coast game with the

(08:39):
Chargers or stuff like that. So when you're a football fan,
you become accustomed to some of these guys that do
your name, do your games. But the names may not
be as popular as the top tier team. But you
know what Don Kirky and Bob Trumpy game is a
you know, that's just as part of my child does
as anything else.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
Yeah, like you're your comfort food. It really is. It's
just part of it.

Speaker 1 (08:59):
The same way you'll put on the Yankees every single day.
So Michael K's voice to you is like, uh like
chicken little soup. It really is, pizza and burgers. It
really really like I hear Gary Cohen and if it's
a radio call as a Mets fan, when you hear
put it in the books, Howie Rose, you know those
are the names, you know, I mean as guys who

(09:21):
built a career in radio. Maybe it does mean a
little bit more, but I think it means a lot
to everybody. I think everybody could relate to what we're
talking about. So I hope you enjoyed the game last night.
That was my takeaway from the Cowboys. Again, their run
defense looks like it stepped up. But you know what,
maybe the Giants just couldn't put it in. Oh a
W is a W when I think if you're a

(09:42):
Cowboys fan, you feel like, all right, we didn't play
that sharp and we snuck out of there with a
win and the Giants just are not there yet. Can
I be totally honest? Though, Yeah, I watched I had
it on. I like the voices, the sounds of the game.
It's my comfort food. As we said, as I'm sitting there,
I just like it in the back of and I
wasn't zoned in. I was for a minute. Then I

(10:02):
get on my phone, then I start cleaning up a
little bit, and then I sit down and watch again.
But there was a part of me that really did
want to watch the rest of that mister McMahon documentary
the whole time. I'm like, all right, all right, it's
the close game right now, twenty fifteen. All right, cowboys win.
All right, let's put on mister McMahon. It's that good.
And again we will talk about it during weekend hob knobbing.

(10:23):
I swear my head was at last night. I saw
a funny TikTok clip. It was like the six episodes
of mister McMahon.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
You're five.

Speaker 1 (10:30):
So I didn't want to start it until the game
was over because I do like to see the commentary
and what they had to say. And I watched it all,
but I was really itching to put some Netflix on.
I'm like three episodes into the six I saw a
TikTok clip where it's like, after watching two episodes, man
Vince wic Man's a genius but I don't know if
he's a good guy after four episodes.

Speaker 2 (10:50):
Vins Wicman's not a good guy after all six Oh
my god.

Speaker 1 (10:54):
Yeah, man, yeah, I mean he's one of those geniuses
that perhaps, Fella, it's one of the best ones I've
seen in a long time.

Speaker 2 (11:03):
So hope you're enjoying that.

Speaker 3 (11:05):
A couple of compelling sports things that we'll get to
on on weekend, Hob Nobby because Cove I had some
of that same feeling around halftime. I'm like, man, I
really want to see the third episode of the Aaron
Hernandez series.

Speaker 2 (11:17):
Yeah, for sure, that's out too. Well, we'll get to
all that.

Speaker 1 (11:20):
We're gonna talk some playoff baseball, give a nice little
preview of Week four the NFL.

Speaker 2 (11:25):
Lots of games we got to cover.

Speaker 1 (11:26):
So I'll tell you Richie might be onto something too, though.
You know, we made fun of you with your extra TV. Yeah,
you know, yesterday I missed Aaron Judges fifty eighth.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
I look at my phone. Uncle Bill hits me up.

Speaker 1 (11:36):
He's like fifty eight and I'm like fifty eight because
I'm sitting here watching.

Speaker 2 (11:42):
The week ass Giant game.

Speaker 1 (11:44):
Well, guess one, you need the extra TV Extra TV
in Yeah, Rich is Rich is really onto, soel it
and I well listen, we got a lot of playoff
potential Baseball NFL Week four, having a lot of fun
on a Friday.

Speaker 2 (11:57):
Thanks for hanging with us. We got more next Covino
and Rich.

Speaker 1 (12:02):
Thanks again to you guys for hanging out with us
and celebrating two years of Cavino and Rich yesterday.

Speaker 2 (12:07):
And thanks to everybody who was going to show up.

Speaker 1 (12:10):
To our Alabama Graduate Hotel broadcast today in Auburn, which
we postponed because of the hurricane. So everybody in the
path of the hurricane, you know, we wish you safety.
Stay safe, and we'll get back agand yeah, we'll make
it up. Definitely, that's the goal. I'm Cavino, That is
Rich d G Sam eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox.

(12:32):
If you have any thoughts about the game last night,
it was a fun one.

Speaker 2 (12:35):
I enjoyed it. That's over. The Cowboys needed it. That
wasn't a fun one. No that that that game was garbage?

Speaker 1 (12:41):
You know what nice? I'm not I'm not being nice.
I just love the fact that the ball something on
you know what I mean, it's a Thursday night, but
you know what, dude, without that game. My girlfriend's out
of town. My girlfriends in Japan. Right, it's me and
the dog dealing with dealing with insurance people all day.
Because I told my car the game for me was

(13:04):
the comfort food I needed. It's odd that it just
gives me something to do. Are you putting football in
the same category as pizza and uh yeah, love him.
It's just it's it's a booty I had. I was
happy to be saying that it was an average game football,
much like booty and pizza. Even if it's bad, it's
not really bad. Yes, yes, exactly.

Speaker 2 (13:23):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (13:24):
Also, also I was happy that it wasn't like the
game of the year because I was I had one
eye on the Dodgers game as they were trying to
win the West. So for baseball fans who have some
skin in the game with their team right now, it's like, okay,
just just wait. I don't want my baseball team playing
at the same time as the best NFL game.

Speaker 1 (13:41):
Well, I'm glad you said that, Danny G. As we
watched the Dodgers clinch. Yeah, baby, yeah, you also watched
You think DANNYG cheers the way he talks?

Speaker 2 (13:52):
Yeah, you're put it up high. Fuck Branda, bring it
in YO.

Speaker 1 (14:01):
So yeah, as Danny's cheering on the Dodgers, you're probably
watching the Yankee celebrate. And did you hear John Carlos
Stanton John Carlow Stanton, formerly known as Mike Stanton, Mike
he got all fancy.

Speaker 2 (14:14):
They asked him the Yankees the team to beat.

Speaker 1 (14:17):
And by the way, John Carlow, who went to the
high school in your neighborhood, right, he went to Notre
Dame in truman Oaks. Look at that local guy when
asked if he was on the team to beat. This
is what he said, without the point. Yeah, well we

(14:42):
better be. That's the point. And it got us thinking
as a fan, not as a player. Forget the players.
Gary is scary. We are fans, all of us. As
a fan, do you like when your team, John Carlo
is the number one seed, the favorite.

Speaker 2 (15:01):
The team that if they lose it's a letdown.

Speaker 1 (15:05):
Or do you like being a fan of the team
that's itching to get in They're clawing and scratching. We
just need to make the postseason. Then it's all house money.
I think at the postseason. I'll be honest, I know
where you're heading and leaning on this. I'd rather be
the team that's that's scratching because they're hungrier at that point.
Like when you're the team to beat, Man, I feel
like there's just more pressure on you to win. When

(15:27):
you're the team who's hungry to get there and be there,
you're bringing that hunger and momentum into the postseason. You know,
when you're the team to beat, you're playing with your
backs up against the walls, just just trying to meet
that expectation and that pressure you're putting on yourself. So
I don't like that for the Yankees, but I do
like the confidence, right, I like the confidence behind it.

(15:48):
But if I were you, I'd feel really pumped to
be a Mets fan who are really itching and scratching.
Like the itching and scratching, I mean they're not even
in though yet. Keep that mummy, I mean, that's my point.
Who are hungry to get there and be there and
to use that momentum when it counts. I think we've
seen it too many times now where the team that
should be there and should be winning is not playing

(16:12):
up to that expectation against that hungry, that hungry, unexpected
team that underdog team. So there's a few things. Are
the Yankees really the team to beat? I think they are.
Am I Homer for thinking that. Probably, I mean, but
think of their star studded lineup. I mean, listen, you
have until next weekend. You could say, well, the Yankees

(16:34):
play this weekend meaningless nonsense. Well no, no, no care. Hold on,
I'm not meaningless. Hear me out for a second. They're
playing the Pirates, right, stupid. Well, by the way, what's
the pirate's favorite letter?

Speaker 2 (16:47):
Favorite letter? Oh R? You would think it's the R,
but it's actually the Sea. I know. See now, I'm.

Speaker 1 (16:56):
Gonna go home, guys, good night, it's see you know
what a pirate's favorite radio show? By the way, see
and R. Anyway, they're playing the Pirates. And you said
there's no reason to watch the Yankees. Gotta still keep
that momentum going off.

Speaker 2 (17:11):
It shut your pie hole. Hear me out.

Speaker 1 (17:14):
I really think that Judge could end with sixty, and
that would be kind of cool. As a fan, I
don't want him to end with fifty eight or fifty nine.
I want him to hit sixty. He needs two this weekend.
That is reason for me to there's playoff positioning at
state playoff position. The Yankees are one game up momentum,
you know, want to go and stinking like a Lincoln.
They're one game up on the Guardians for the number

(17:36):
one seed in the American League. The Guardians host the Astros,
You play the Pirates, and I just like, you know,
the stats matter to me. Now, what would you what
position would you rather be in?

Speaker 2 (17:47):
Now?

Speaker 1 (17:47):
When I give you this dumb hypothetical, I want you
to assume that my team makes it in not that
they fall apart at the end. Very Mets, like, did
you rather be the Yankees who wrap up this weekend
playing whoever tuning up and then they have a week
off and then they host a divisional series, or.

Speaker 2 (18:07):
The Mets, who have to play in.

Speaker 1 (18:08):
Milwaukee then Monday likely have to go to play a
double header in Atlanta and then start a wildcard series
on Tuesday. This is when we open it up to well,
everybody here the greatest team in sports, not the Dodgers,
not the Yankees, Fox Sports Radio, Danny g Sam dan Byer,
But to you Fox Sports Radio Nation. You hear what

(18:30):
we're talking about. You hear what we're getting at. It's
a two part question based on John Carlow, Are the
Yankees a team to be? If not, who else? Is
there someone else who we should be really scared of,
should be really scared of?

Speaker 2 (18:43):
The underdog?

Speaker 1 (18:44):
Would you rather be the favorite or the underdog heading
into the playoffs? Yeah, and that's really it, and Layer
two really is since they've added that extra wildcard, it's
very clear that.

Speaker 2 (18:57):
The Astros seem to be the only one that's in
you to the rush.

Speaker 1 (19:01):
You know, I was just gonna say that because in
the past couple of years, one hundred win teams Yankees, Dodgers, Mets, Braves,
there have been a lot of early dismissals from the
playoffs from your top tier teams. I'm not saying I
want my Mets to play a doubleheader on Monday and
then start the postseason Tuesday. That seems like a big
pain in the ass, But one could argue Baseball's inn

(19:22):
everyday sport, momentum, vibe, chemistry.

Speaker 2 (19:25):
Hey, we made it momentum.

Speaker 1 (19:28):
Rather be the Mets, honestly than the Dodgers. The Dodgers,
it's like you have to win. They get how made
you wear at mookie bets until yesterday? Because there's that expectation, man,
and there's more pressure on that for you.

Speaker 2 (19:41):
It's just the fight.

Speaker 1 (19:42):
I'd rather deal with the fight than the expectation that
the Dodgers have. And I'm a Yankees fan, so I
think Rich, you're sitting pretty as a Mets guy.

Speaker 2 (19:52):
If sitting pretty means poop in my pants of nerves,
than yes.

Speaker 3 (19:55):
It's way better to surprise everyone rather than let everyone down.

Speaker 1 (20:00):
Let me give you a typical Coavin on Rich dumb
analogy that involves like dating. If like the handsome friend
in your crew goes out to the club when your
single twenties college, the assumption is he'll meet a girl
when the when the weird guy in your crew ends
up meeting like a cute girl the club and goes home,

(20:21):
are you a little more like That's like, yeah, okay,
even for the even for the fan with no horse
in the race, it's gotta be more fun to see
what teams like the Mets do. But again, Jean Carlos stanton,
Jean Carlo non see po stop Carlow, that's the weakest
call of John. He went Starling's career. He went yard yesterday,

(20:43):
had a big game. He said, the Yankees are the
team to beat? Your thoughts, I'm fired up about it.

Speaker 2 (20:49):
I care.

Speaker 1 (20:50):
Look, it's a great time. You said it over and
over again. It's cliche, but it really is. You got
some meaningful baseball and you got some great football. Your
thoughts on this listen. I know you love of a
layered dip, so let me give you a layered question.
I already got two layers.

Speaker 2 (21:04):
First layer, do you think the Yankees are the team
to beat in the AL? Yes?

Speaker 1 (21:09):
Because even though Gerrit Cole had a mediocre year, he's
back though, But I think it's playoff time and Gharri
Cole is the ASU want, right even though he struggled
this year. In the AL, it's the Yankees NL if
it's not the Phillies or Dodgers. And again, the Padres
and Mets have been the hottest teams the last couple
of months.

Speaker 2 (21:25):
So who's the team to beat?

Speaker 1 (21:27):
The Dodgers they're the team to beat, but the Dodgers
gunning for the dogs since the All Star break. The
two best teams in the NL are the Padres and Mets. Yeah,
those are the teams fighting and scratching. And yeah, those
are the hungry teams. Man. I like that, So they're
heading in again because they got that momentum. Layer one,
who's the team to beat? Layer two is the Beans? No?

(21:49):
Layer two the guacamale. Layer two of your baseball dip
is do you want to be the underdog or the
favorite in those scenario?

Speaker 2 (22:00):
Right? And Layer three?

Speaker 1 (22:01):
I just got to ask, being that I'm in it
mentally as a Mets fan, Mets, Braves, Diamondbacks, who's the
odd man out? Who chokes this weekend? Oh, that's a
good one, because one team's out. I'm going Diamondbacks on that.

Speaker 2 (22:12):
You think that they're playing the Padres.

Speaker 1 (22:14):
Do you think the Padres are like, well, we can't
do it, man, But if the Padres can't win the division,
do you think they're like, let's line up for the playoffs?

Speaker 2 (22:22):
Danny G you're more of an NL guy.

Speaker 1 (22:24):
Of those three teams, Mets, Braves, Diamondbacks, who's more likely
to who's Chuck City, Choke City USA.

Speaker 2 (22:32):
The Padres?

Speaker 1 (22:33):
I would think I was hoping the Padres would sweep
the Diamondbacks and just take him out of the equation.
But with the Padres having not really much to play
for it, they're gonna be your number one Wildcard, and
they're gonna want to line up their team in rotation
for the wildcard, which starts Tuesday, so they may just
mail it in this weekend.

Speaker 2 (22:52):
Who's the odd one out? Think about that?

Speaker 1 (22:55):
You could say the Mets I won't cut it, But
I'm also thinking about hold on, I'm thinking of I'm
still thinking about the other layer of the dip, the
first layer of the dip, right, because it translates to life.
First layer of the dip translates to everything that you
deal with in life when it comes to jobs and relationships.
Let's say you owned a small business, Right, would you

(23:17):
want the guy working for you who's been there, done
that and has this uh sort of entitlement about him,
does a good job, but it's expected for him to
do a good job. Or would you have rather have
that young person who's going above and beyond and full
of excitement and full of hunger to get that same
job done?

Speaker 2 (23:37):
Underdog?

Speaker 1 (23:38):
That's the underdog, That dude's fighting for the opportunity. Now,
who would you rather who you rooting for when you
don't have a horse, If you're if you're a single
guy and you're on the fence in your relationship, you
got a good woman, but she's sort of just running
through the motions with you.

Speaker 2 (23:53):
Would rather be her or the one that's super pumped
to be with you. I get it. I'm listen.

Speaker 1 (23:58):
If you don't have a horse, that's to the super
Puff team to try to get into the players. You
get to forget even traditional sports and relationships.

Speaker 2 (24:07):
Think of the fight game.

Speaker 1 (24:08):
If we go to Vegas for a UFC or boxing event, yeah,
which we do. Unless you really like one of the fighters,
you're always sort of pulling for the underdog.

Speaker 2 (24:19):
It's human nature. It really is. Yeah, it really is
human nature.

Speaker 1 (24:22):
Let's take one quick call from Matt and they we'll
go around the room, get to Dann Buyer's update. But
I answer your question, I think the Diamondbacks are the
the team that blows it.

Speaker 2 (24:29):
Now we'll see. That's just my that's just my guest,
no offense, Arizona mat favorite underdog, who's gonna blow it?
What you got?

Speaker 6 (24:36):
Well, I got a line, but I know I got
to make it quick because I swear we're always up
against it in the show. Of course, Cobino Ridge Natural
Content backed by since Herebs the anniversary.

Speaker 2 (24:47):
Thanks the show.

Speaker 7 (24:48):
The show was great.

Speaker 6 (24:49):
Yesterday, and I mean I remember calling you guys for
the first time. It was like you guys were still
on Saturdays.

Speaker 1 (24:56):
Yeah, and you.

Speaker 6 (24:56):
Guys were I mean just you guys's imitation and you're
like what you do to Danny g every day. It's
like one best running gags in radio, the fact that
he sounds like how you imitate him.

Speaker 2 (25:06):
I mean, the smoothest, most buttery voice in radio.

Speaker 5 (25:11):
Real quick.

Speaker 6 (25:12):
It's it's absolutely the underdog. Like I mean, you see
it every year, Like I mean, I'm a Giants fan,
and their three World Series titles, I think two of
them they walked in as a one game wild card.
And you get hot and then you look at you know,
the Padres uh well last year Arizona beating the Dodgers early.
I think you know your momentum and you're playing every
day and those teams who sit around who one, one
hundred and whatever games you know you I don't want

(25:34):
to say you lose that edge, but it's just running
into teams who are just they've had that edge, and
it's winner. It's los er die.

Speaker 2 (25:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (25:42):
I definitely, Hey, dude, not to be self centered and
to make it about us, but you know, what makes
our show fun and exciting? Our show, Yeah, that celebrated
two years yesterday. I Fox for sure you again. Tell
me why you're great. I don't know why we're great
because we're hungry and we want it. That's true, and
other people say, yes, so what, I'm awesome?

Speaker 2 (26:01):
What's up? Thanks for tuning in. I'm not saying on
Fox Sports Radio. I'm saying in general, we want to
you know, hungry, how you want more? Hungry for more?

Speaker 1 (26:11):
Your mets feel that way to me, rich, So I'm
answering your question.

Speaker 2 (26:14):
Let's go mess. I'm hungry, Dan Bayer, are you hungry?
What's up?

Speaker 5 (26:18):
dB?

Speaker 2 (26:20):
I'm always hungry.

Speaker 1 (26:24):
Dan's man that the one day he took off yesterday
there were free donuts and free.

Speaker 4 (26:28):
Buffalo while you know, I walk in all great wings yesterday.

Speaker 7 (26:32):
Guys.

Speaker 2 (26:32):
But that's all right. I'm gonna give you a little
piece of advice.

Speaker 1 (26:36):
My girlfriend says this to me all the time, because
I'll go from the couch to the pantry at least
thirty times a night, and she'll say.

Speaker 2 (26:42):
To me, are you hungry or just bored?

Speaker 1 (26:45):
So I just say that to myself every time, every
time I opened the pantry or the fridge and bored,
hungry or bored.

Speaker 2 (26:50):
I'm bored.

Speaker 4 (26:50):
I've heard you say that, and so I go there
and I go, I'm bored. I'm gonna have some chips.
That's That's what I say.

Speaker 2 (26:58):
You know, what's the weekend?

Speaker 6 (27:00):
Go?

Speaker 2 (27:01):
All right?

Speaker 4 (27:01):
A lot of NFL news to get to. We'll start
with Riches Niners a game against the Patriots coming up
on Sunday. Rock Purty and George Kittle good to go,
but Trent Williams is popped up on the injury report
because of a toe injury. He's questionable for the game
as his wide receiver Deebo Samuel.

Speaker 5 (27:21):
It's time to parlay into your weekend. Rich Davis loves parlays.
You're making money and he loves his new solar panels.
Solar Boy, drafting.

Speaker 2 (27:31):
My solar power. Parlay. Ah raight, you're making money.

Speaker 1 (27:35):
Money brought to you by DraftKings Dickey, DraftKings David.

Speaker 2 (27:40):
It's a funny word. What movie is that? Is that?
Black Sheep or Tommy Boy?

Speaker 1 (27:43):
I never remember they get They get all Stone on
the Uh on the road, the Nitress right the limit.

Speaker 2 (27:51):
Alright, here we go.

Speaker 1 (27:52):
I got a teaser bet and I got, of course
my solar power parlay. Let's start with the parlay. Danny
G close your ears. And I say this because Danny's
going to Vegas and I'm pulling for his Raiders for him,
So if I lose the parlay, I won't feel so
bad because Danny will be cheering. But I don't like Cleveland.
Deshaun Watson bothers me like he bothers a lot of people.

(28:13):
But I just heard that Devontae Adams m Max Crosby
are both out. That's like major disadvantage Raiders. It is,
but Cleveland has a lot of injuries too.

Speaker 5 (28:22):
I know.

Speaker 1 (28:23):
I just so I got three teams money line. We've
done it a couple weeks. Last week we hit it nicely.
So three team money line parlay. Browns are going to
Las Vegas. Like I said, it'd be nice to see
Danny's Raiders win, but Cleveland needs to win as well.
On the road money line, Bengals are playing the Panthers.

(28:44):
You know, redheaded Wonder with a sweet fade. Andy Dalton's
not doing it again. Bengals need a win, they get
their first win. So I like the Bengals in a
money line against the Panthers. I like the Browns against
the Raiders, and I know Cavino, you'll be mad at
this because you're a Baker fan. I think the Eagles
have a pretty big week against the Bucks. Money line.

Speaker 2 (29:02):
So you got.

Speaker 1 (29:03):
Eagles Bengals, Browns money line one hundred paced three hundred,
and your teaser bet.

Speaker 2 (29:09):
I'll do this quick. Texans beat the Jags.

Speaker 1 (29:12):
That's a six point favorite, making a pick them and
the Jets make that a one and a half point
spread instead of seven and a half against the Broncos.
So Jets Texans teaser bet. They have it, a teaser
and a parlay code. See our show at DraftKings dot com.
We'll see you guys in a minute. More can be
known rich Next, McCaffrey has returned from getting his achilles

(29:36):
tendonitis treatment in Germany, and Kyle shanahan added on by saying,
McCaffrey quote, we'd like to start hitting his rehab here
harder on Monday. So after they wrap up this week
against the Patriots, that's where the rehab begins next level
and hopefully in the next month he could get back
on the field. But there were reports that scared a
lot of Niners fans and fantasy football players got all

(29:58):
freaked out because they're like, it could be months and months.
He may be back in December and maybe for the postseason,
so relax. I still stand by that he was out
october Fest. You know, Spot, I like your beer and Brotz.
That's the that's the best care possible in Germany. Beer
and Brotz brought the gems are gonna go back to baseball.

(30:21):
You like how you've been bouncing around from football back
to baseball. You want to get inside my you know,
empty head, Happy September slash October Rich's head. Your empty
head is football, mister mcmay, and my second TV Golden
Bachelor at football.

Speaker 2 (30:39):
Don't forget how decorating did you? Guys like my Octoberfest music?

Speaker 1 (30:46):
Spooky? And then back to baseball again. I can't be
the only one. I mean, I know there's some people
that are solely NFL focused, But right now I am
trying to bounce. It's like it's like when when a
mobster has his wife and his gumad. Yeah, I'm trying
to balance. It's like Karen and Jennie ROSSI.

Speaker 2 (31:05):
I'm trying to.

Speaker 1 (31:06):
Balance forty nine ers and Mets in my head, and
like today I'm solely Mets focused. Gotta beat the Brewers tonight,
but come Sunday, I'm gonna be honed in on you
gotta beat the Patriots to get back to.

Speaker 2 (31:18):
Two and two.

Speaker 1 (31:18):
You're not the only guy I was great about this
time of year.

Speaker 2 (31:21):
Which would you say, gumd?

Speaker 1 (31:22):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (31:22):
What is that?

Speaker 2 (31:25):
Guma?

Speaker 4 (31:26):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (31:27):
I never knew that gumad is like your side Pece.
You don't get your gumad at the deli. You might
meet her at the deli, but your gumad is your
side girl.

Speaker 2 (31:34):
You didn't know that.

Speaker 1 (31:35):
You gotta watch sopranos man nice all right, they get
a nice brus al.

Speaker 2 (31:40):
So now we go back to baseball.

Speaker 1 (31:46):
And we let it sink in because we all saw
the Oakland Athletics go out with the win, which I
thought was necessary. Did everybody feel that way? You're like,
you had to win, That's how it had to go down.
If they would have lost that game, it would have
been it's a totally different vibe. I think they had
to go out with the win. I'm so glad they did.
But it was like, yeah, it was the end of

(32:08):
an era, end of a chapter. End of a lot
of our Like we mentioned yesterday, just watching the Raiders
play there, the lines on the field, that was part
of like what we saw as kids. But yo, I
didn't care about the coliseum personally as a baseball fan. Yes,
can you imagine if you grew up in that area
and all your teams are gone? I post a question

(32:29):
to you guys when we were prepping for the show,
having a little uh snack earlier, I said, listen, I
want to make this realistic. Other than the loss of
a family member, a friend, a pet, like you know,
other than real stuff, is a city losing their sports
franchise one of the hardest losses to take. And I

(32:50):
said to you, well, as a New Jersey kid, as
a New York kid, I really can't relate to that
on this level. So you know, in watching this just
as a sports fan, you're like that, that's kind of
sad when the Browns really sad. So we're asking, is
there any remorse for Oakland? You have any remorse? Jeff
Passon actually said some interesting stuff. We're gonna what you

(33:12):
know about, but have you ever cried for your team
in a way where it wasn't tears of joy right,
like you could see like getting emotional because something awesome happened.
But imagine how sad they must have felt yesterday. Yeah,
I was gonna say, when you hear stories like when
the Cleveland Browns left, when the Colts left Baltimore, when

(33:32):
the Sonics left Seattle, when you when you see these
things happen, if you don't live in one of those
cities out here in LA there's a lot of people
who are really butter When the Rams left Waters.

Speaker 3 (33:44):
Family friend of mine that is a broadcaster in the
Bay Area and it's been on the radio forever, was
there in attendance yesterday. He said he definitely shed a
tear at the end on that final pitch, and we
saw broadcasters for the A's and the post game bit
cry and his partner next to him was all choked
up on the broadcast, sir.

Speaker 1 (34:04):
I'm not I can't make fun of him because, as
like I said, I'm a Yankees fan. I felt sad
watching it, So I can only imagine they asked.

Speaker 3 (34:11):
Nine nine World Series Championships, fifteen al pennants.

Speaker 2 (34:17):
It's sad.

Speaker 1 (34:18):
It's just sad, man, it really is, because you look
at that, you look at that team, and you say
what happened? Because when if you were a kid like
us growing up in the eighties or nineties. We named
the names yesterday, everyone from McGuire to jose Kinseka, Walt Weiss,
Dave Stewart, Eckersley all the way up to Giambi, and
we touched on.

Speaker 2 (34:35):
These things on over promised our bonus podcast.

Speaker 1 (34:37):
We want to check it out Fox Sports Radios YouTube page,
because we were talking about the how the fans wanted
the dirt and a little piece of the memories and
all that sort of stuff. People were ripping chairs out
of Oakland Coliseum. I saw a sad picture of home
plate removed?

Speaker 2 (34:51):
Did you see that? Did you see?

Speaker 1 (34:52):
They asked Ricky Henderson, the Ricky if he was sad?
He said yeah, he said about the Ricky was so
the Ricky when he said, I can't be sad. I
have too much money. I have too much so on brand,
I have too much right, Well, would he be sad?
It's not about Ricky? Is that not the best answer
a guy staying on brand? Oh man, that was great, Ricky.

(35:15):
You said I can't be sad, I have too much money. Well,
Jeff Passing tweeted this out and a lot of people
feel this way. He said, the Oakland A's were killed
by greed. Do not allow the people responsible for this
to spin it any other way. John Fisher did not
have to move this team. Major League Baseball and its
owners did not need to be complicit in it. This

(35:36):
was a choice, a wrong one. History will sneer, which
may be true, right, I mean, every team is gone,
and you were saying, well, we all saw the overhead
footage of of what used to be there and what's
there now and what it's going to be. It's gonna
be like like a ghost town. It'd be like rumble eventually,
what are you there? Coming down?

Speaker 3 (35:58):
Also, as far as homelessness, crime, poverty, that area is
just riddled with all of that, and that's the bigger,
probably the bigger picture problem for the city of Oakland, California.
I have family right outside that city and they talk
about it all the time. It's it's kind of like
the wild Wild West there. As far as crime and
everything goes around the actual coliseum, it is like I

(36:22):
can't even I can't even describe it. The last time
I went it was bad, and that was a few
years back during the Raiders last season. It's gotten progressively worse.

Speaker 1 (36:30):
Yeah, listen, the Raiders left, A's are gone, the toilets
are still overflowing. The Warriors went across the Bay, the
Niners play in Santa Clara.

Speaker 2 (36:39):
That that area. You got to hope that something turns
up part of the country.

Speaker 3 (36:43):
There were so many legendary moments inside that stadium, with
the NFL films and everything that happened throughout the John
Madden years and then to of course the John Gruden era,
and besides that, the Oakland A's with all those champion
ships and famous teams in the seventies and then the
Bash Brothers in the nineties and so many golden sports moments.

Speaker 2 (37:06):
Yeah right there.

Speaker 3 (37:07):
And then you had the Warriors next door at the
Old Oracle and they go to San Francisco, and so yeah, man,
you lose those teams, you lose kind of the soul
of that city.

Speaker 2 (37:17):
And so it's sad.

Speaker 1 (37:18):
Man.

Speaker 3 (37:18):
I hope there's a rebirth for the entire that for
the East Bay. They need a rebirth more.

Speaker 1 (37:23):
Of like a governmental sort of thing, meaning like why
why why would you as a business owner want to
keep your business, your team, your franchise, whatever it is
in a place that's that's just needs to be cleaned up.
He needs to be cleaned up. Who wants to go
to Oakland? You know, the same thing is probably gonna happen.
I'm knock on wood. San Francisco isn't doing any better? Right,

(37:45):
So can't you understand, like maybe it's not just the
franchisees issue, it's the it's the city's issue, it's the
officials issue.

Speaker 2 (37:52):
Well, i'd a bigger issue, is my point.

Speaker 1 (37:55):
And and I can't blame him for wanting to get
out when it's just like why would we want to
stay here? But it's not a good scene. It feels terrible,
but it does. It feels hard. And to answer the question,
I was sad, dude. And to answer the question, do
you think because I think my answer is yes, other
than the loss of a family member, let me be clear,
family member, human, friend, or pet, you losing your sports

(38:18):
franchise would probably be next on the list after a
human or pet. Yeah, And I you know, feeling yesterday,
I we've obviously have seen other franchise leave and we've
heard these stories. Yesterday, I connected with that, like, man,
that must really suck because now they got nothing. Oh
there's a lot of Saint Louis people that feel done
dirty when the Rams left Saint Louis.

Speaker 2 (38:41):
It's a sad one. Man, it was a sad one
because the end of an era.

Speaker 1 (38:43):
Well, let's not be sad. Let's be happy because we
have something new. Oh well, you know what, Rich one day,
maybe I'll be like the Ricky well Jo.

Speaker 2 (38:51):
I can't be sad. I got too much money, too
much money.

Speaker 6 (38:53):
We know what.

Speaker 1 (38:54):
We make fun of me, and I take it because
I got the extra TV for Sunday Football, which inspired
a new feature. You should hear my fat up.

Speaker 2 (39:03):
I got an extra TV the game game that I
will have Riches big TV game of the week.

Speaker 5 (39:10):
It's Rich's big TV game of the week.

Speaker 2 (39:14):
It's me perfect.

Speaker 1 (39:16):
I love that.

Speaker 2 (39:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (39:17):
Man, when features come to us organically, it's awesome. Mike,
what other radio show do you hear goofing around like that?
And the next week it's an official produced feature.

Speaker 1 (39:27):
Well, thank you, Danny g, thank you Ricky veto the
whole fox Worth radio team. I think Rich has Rich
has two TVs. Yeah, well I may get a third
so that we might have to change it again. But
I get the Sunday ticket going four games on one,
and I bought a second TV that gets its own screen.

Speaker 2 (39:45):
Because the game is so hot, the game is smoking.

Speaker 1 (39:48):
You don't want to split any screens. Those games, the
game that doesn't deserve some type of some splitness. Come on.
I like to split screens and split cheeks, but not
on the This one game of the week, This one
game of the week deserves the big screen. And I'll
give you the one o'clock game and the four o'clock game.
I'll accommodate the East Coast times nice. Even though I'm

(40:09):
on the West coast. I still look at it as
the one o'clock's in the four o'clock giving us an
early game in a late game, early game, late game.
Games of the week now early game to me, this
is this is more obvious early game of the week.
I'll have the split screen going with Little Aaron Rodgers.
Want to see if he beats up on the Broncos.
Of course, I'll want to see Eagles Bucks what goes

(40:31):
on there?

Speaker 2 (40:32):
Of course?

Speaker 1 (40:33):
Will the Bengals win Jags Texans. That's a close divisional
matchup to the Steelers and Colts. Which team's going to
jump out to the Steelers stay on defeated. No, no,
these are all good games, but they'll be on the
split action. You know who gets her own TV vikings
at Packers?

Speaker 5 (40:52):
Wow?

Speaker 2 (40:54):
Sam Darnold? Wow, I'm at TV all by itself. Well
you gotta think, man, you got Sam Donald going.

Speaker 1 (41:02):
Into Ginger Shine, Ginger's going into Lambeau Fields. Better adjust
your uh your tint on the TV to make it
pop your saturation?

Speaker 2 (41:10):
Yeah, there it is. I love it. They put it
in vivid mode.

Speaker 1 (41:13):
That is Uh, that's your that's your early game of
the week when you got the Packers hosting the vikings?
And is there a Jordan Love update?

Speaker 2 (41:21):
dB? I know you're you're keeping keeping up on.

Speaker 4 (41:23):
That questionable third straight day. Have a limited practice for
Jordan Love today?

Speaker 1 (41:27):
Well, either way, we saw what Malik Willis did last week,
so you may want to lay off that game wagering
because we don't know what's happening yet. But as far
as the game that deserves the attention, I might come
by your place just to sit in front of that
TV to watch this game. Divisional matchup, high stakes? Sam Donald?
Does he go to four and oh? So that's your

(41:47):
early game that gets the big screen. So right, Rich's
late big screen game of the week because there's a
you know what I want to tell you. I want
to tell you that the Mets Brewers get the big screen,
but that's not fun. But I think they might because
the late games are sort of meager, like Bob Seeger,
do you want to watch my Niners kick the Pats ass?
Do you want to watch the Raiders Browns, Chiefs? Chargers

(42:11):
might get the big screen? But you know what, if
you really want to know what game I'm actually intrigued by,
it's Jaden Daniels and the Washington Commanders at the Cardinals,
Kyler Murray, Jadan Daniels, two young, fiery quarterbacks. And we
saw the rebroke Kyler Murray and you saw and you
saw Jayden Daniels coming to his own last week. So

(42:32):
got the Jayden Daniels coming off one of the best
games of his career, the best game of his career,
see what he does now versus the.

Speaker 2 (42:38):
Speedy Kyler Murray. I love that matchup.

Speaker 1 (42:41):
So that's sort of a game that maybe a year
ago you'd be like, who wants to see the Commander's
Cardinals now?

Speaker 2 (42:46):
And it gets his own screen.

Speaker 1 (42:48):
Nice and then of course the game that gets his
own screen Sunday night because it's the only game. They
have a great Sunday night game this week Buffalo Bills
at the Baltimore Ravens. That to me is another telling
game because on the road you're going to Baltimore. Does
Josh Allen.

Speaker 2 (43:06):
Got the goodies to go for? And oh what does
Lamar Jackson say? Not so fast. We're still the Ravens.

Speaker 1 (43:11):
We're still the team to beat in the ASCA because
very quickly they could get back to two and two
and the Bills could get their first loss.

Speaker 2 (43:18):
So that's a great Sunday night game.

Speaker 1 (43:20):
Ravens need it more, all right, And as you know,
open door policy in my house, come over whenever you
want to ask. Rich's big TV game of the weeks.
We're talking about how sad it was to see that
last game at the Coliseum. So cool that they won,
they had to win, but it started making you think,

(43:41):
even if you weren't a fan of all the legends
that came through there, how many great games you saw
the World Series in eighty nine, like from our lifetime,
the highlights the legends of the seventies, you're like, man,
this is sad. Generations of families and friends that had
moments there like it's all gone, and you know, it

(44:03):
just made us all think, is it okay to feel
that level of sadness if your team leaves. Not everybody
experiences that, but I think we all felt that a
little bit watching that yesterday. Is it okay to cry
in those moments? Danny G said he had friends that
had admitted it. Yeah, they were crying, man, they were sad.
I've only cried when my team lose this.

Speaker 2 (44:23):
But no, I've never no, no, no.

Speaker 1 (44:25):
But because that's the thing, right, I think you're really
lame if you cry if your team loses.

Speaker 2 (44:30):
Thanks, I really do.

Speaker 1 (44:31):
I think if something special happens and you get emotional,
I think that's fair. I think if your team's leaving
after watching that yesterday, I get that.

Speaker 3 (44:40):
I think a lot of it, too, has to do
with family and strong family bonds. You grow up going
to the game with family members, maybe your dad, maybe
your mom, your brothers, your uncles, and some of those
people aren't with us any longer, but they were there
to see the bash brothers with me when I was
a little kid. Yeah, and so those are the memories
tied to that ballpark.

Speaker 1 (44:59):
I agree with your completely man. I want everyone to
close their eyes. Actually, most people are driving, don't do that.
But if you were to close your eyes, and I
say Oakland, A's what do you picture like if there
was a montage? I picture Reggie Jackson wearing the green
as jersey, like the seventies Reggie and Green. I picture
the Besh brothers giving their like they're like like a

(45:22):
forearm bump.

Speaker 2 (45:23):
Don't forget the gimbino era.

Speaker 1 (45:24):
And I picture Eckersley's mustache. Yeah, I pictured the rolly
fingers mustache. Yeah, Catfish Hunters must.

Speaker 2 (45:30):
What about Ricky Henderson holding the bag? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (45:33):
And jose Canseco forty forty holding the bag over his head.

Speaker 1 (45:36):
So many great moments, and again we're from the East Coast,
so many great moments. Makes you feel bad that it's.

Speaker 3 (45:43):
Over our very own Lincoln Kennedy holding the AFC title
trophy over his head as he runs into the tunnel
there at the coliseum.

Speaker 1 (45:51):
So let's take one quick phone call and then Iowa,
Sam's got something and I'm gonna tell you something sad
that I'm gonna do right after the show. Uh, speaking
of sad Oh, Mike and Chico, you're on Casino and
Rich Hey man, love you guys.

Speaker 7 (46:07):
We're an affiliate for you guys. So we're also in
an AA's affiliate. And my brother, my buddy, and I
happened to be there Sunday. I'm originally from New York,
so every year the Yankees come in, I get the
tickets and we go down. So we were there Sunday,
and my buddy had only ever been to the Giants
Stadium because he's a Giant fan, so he was like,
those are as bad as the reputation said. Inside the stadium, dude,

(46:31):
the stadium was great, but the atmosphere was different. You
could feel something was different. It was packed for that
Yankee A's game on Sunday, and it just did feel different.
And I was sad we got lost on the way
back to our car after leaving the stadium.

Speaker 1 (46:46):
I know it is.

Speaker 7 (46:47):
We ended up having to walk through back through and
all the posters of all the players that you guys
were talking about. It was different, man, it just felt different.

Speaker 1 (47:00):
Well it's that it's the fact that yeah, it's over right,
but it's like you ever been in a relationship or
maybe it's just an apartment or a house and you
know you're leaving and you just stop caring about it,
right and you start but you know, because you know
you're moving soon.

Speaker 2 (47:15):
You got to stay in on the carpet and you're like,
well were this apartment?

Speaker 1 (47:18):
You stop caring about it, you know, but all those
memories are still there, but you know you're leaving. It's
that weird feeling. Hey, thanks for sharing. Thank you, Mike.
And speaking of said that was sad to watch, but
after this, after the show, I mean, it's not that sad,
but I have to go to the collision place, I guess,

(47:38):
like the Junkyard portion of it. Oh tell the Junkyard dog,
I said, huh, I will. My car was totaled right
by some jerk who hit me making an illegal turn.

Speaker 2 (47:48):
I'm going to the junk yard this weekend.

Speaker 1 (47:49):
No, but I have to go, and you know, I
have to go and retrieve all my personal belongings from
this awesome car that I only had for a year.
So I have to go there and retrieve all my
personal belongings. I was like, you know, that's only second
to like, remember when I got divorced and I had
to go and get all my stuff out of the house,
and you guys helped me.

Speaker 2 (48:06):
I remember that was really sad.

Speaker 1 (48:07):
That was miser Your ex wife was like, it's all
in the garage. Yeah, I said, spot and I heren
carrying like cases of like CDs and it wasn't all
in the garage. Some of it disappeared. But dude, it's
like so sad. Some of it ended up in a
pawn shop. I think that's kind of how it was,
Just that sad feeling of you gotta go, that's time,
it's time.

Speaker 2 (48:28):
But you know what, listen, worst things could happen. It's
all perspective, right, Yeah, of course, do.

Speaker 3 (48:34):
You guys think that maybe sports could come back and
lead the charge to revive that area, Like if a
bomber type owner was able to go in there and
it was like, I'm gonna spend a couple of billion
dollars to re energize this city right here in Cleanao.

Speaker 1 (48:49):
They got to fix that city before they do anything,
you know what I mean, Like, because nobody wants to
go there. You know, That's how I feel about it.
You're saying that maybe a team could cities have neighborhoods
and surrounding suburbs and cities that My example would be,
we're from the East coast, that downtown Brooklyn.

Speaker 2 (49:07):
Area where they build Barclays.

Speaker 1 (49:08):
You can say Nowork too, Newark, New Jersey's you know,
they try to revamp vamp that area. There have been
some dicey areas that you put a stadium, an arena,
clean it.

Speaker 2 (49:19):
Up a little bit, try to add a little law
enforcement gentrification.

Speaker 1 (49:25):
The minute you see Starbucks and a Jamba Juice pop up,
you know we're head in the right direction. I mean,
it's happened in other cities, but it seems like it
seems like Oakland's going It's gonna be a minute.

Speaker 2 (49:36):
I think it depends on what comes first. What's up dB.

Speaker 4 (49:39):
The toughest thing that I think is you talked about
the city is this is now the third team that
has left Oakland. So now how there's not going to
be another NBA team that would join a baseball team.
There's not going to be another NFL team that would
want to the point of expansion out west. I mean
with Major League Baseball. Portland's got a lot momentum to

(50:01):
it in that aspect. It's just yeah, it's really tricky.

Speaker 2 (50:05):
I think you have abandonment issues, like in general, right,
do you want to d.

Speaker 3 (50:10):
Be to your point, though, it's a huge media market there.
The population is vast and it's a great media market
to work in. Yeah, it just stinks that now there's
such a huge void there.

Speaker 2 (50:24):
Yeah, you would know better than me. I've never been
to Oakland ever, so I was I was a ten
year season ticket holder for the Oakland Raiders. Okay, I've
only been once.

Speaker 1 (50:33):
But it's really just crossing the Bay Bridge, right, yeah,
cross the bridge, you know, you just cross the Bay
and you're in Oakland.

Speaker 2 (50:39):
But it's very it's always been very blue collar.

Speaker 3 (50:43):
Yeah, it's always where you know that that was the grit,
that was the identity of the old school Raiders.

Speaker 1 (50:48):
So that happened yesterday. But again, at least they won.
They got there and now they got to clear their
stuff out and beat it. So that was yesterday. Any remorse.
Let us know, back in the nineties, didn't you hang
out with mc hammer and Oaklander?

Speaker 2 (51:02):
Now I wanted to. I never did, though, Well look
at my eyes, man, wouldn't that wouldn't that be great?

Speaker 3 (51:09):
If Hammer still had his multi million dollars in his
bank account. Say he was a billionaire right now, Like
doctor Dre wouldn't be great if he said, I'm gonna
fix Oakland myself.

Speaker 2 (51:21):
Headphone hammer, headphones, beats by Dre to better than any
billionaires in the Bay Area.

Speaker 1 (51:28):
It's not like there's a whole industry based out of
the billionaire desert out there.

Speaker 2 (51:32):
Jeez yeah, man, it's weird you hearing us tech people.

Speaker 1 (51:37):
Thank you dB, thank you Danny G. In fact, let's
go to dann buy for an update. Don't get it
gets a weekend, hobbobbin.

Speaker 2 (51:43):
It's time for this week's Pro of the Week? Are
we giving? Are we giving it to show he Tani.
I think we have to do it too.

Speaker 1 (51:55):
Reluctantly. Judge, you didn't even let me do the the
belly drummon all please, because I was leaning towards Judge.
You know he hit his fifty eight.

Speaker 2 (52:06):
You know the pro of the week.

Speaker 3 (52:07):
The best player in baseball is Showy was very clutch
in these last two Dodger w's over the.

Speaker 2 (52:17):
Pots having the best year.

Speaker 1 (52:19):
I'll stop the We're not talking about the Express Pros
Player of the Year, but we're talking about.

Speaker 2 (52:23):
The week just three week goes to show.

Speaker 1 (52:25):
Hey, Tani, this should go to Cavino for defending Aaron
Judge all week on social media.

Speaker 2 (52:32):
Congrats to every comment on you know for.

Speaker 1 (52:35):
Being our Express pros Pro of the week.

Speaker 2 (52:37):
That's funny, I was feaking of baseball.

Speaker 1 (52:39):
I got a quick parley for you guys for tonight,
being that the steaks are high steak.

Speaker 2 (52:46):
Steaks, high stakes.

Speaker 1 (52:47):
Get a little That was my class show rich, so
have to pass off the st Let me let me
hear you with a quick parlay and then we'll get
into weekend hob nobbing. This is a twenty dollars parlay
that pays out one hundred, So bet twenty win one
hundred Draft Kings code see our show. Other than football,
you could get involved. You don't have to bet what
I bet. As Rob Parker would say, but this is
what I'm gonna do. He says something like that, three

(53:09):
teams that are in the wild card chase in the
National League, and I like some of the pitchers that
are going tonight that are on the hill.

Speaker 2 (53:19):
The Mets are playing the Brewers. Brewers are locked into
the three seed. No matter what.

Speaker 1 (53:25):
The Brewers can't get a buye the Brewers are the
third first place team, which means they have to host
in the wildcard round. That will not change Cavino. So
the Brewers, if anything, are positioning for the start of
the Wildcard on Tuesday. Okay, And the Mets are playing
and pitching their ace this year. I'll call the ace Manaia.

(53:46):
He's been the Mets best pitcher. So Manya throws for
the Mets and night. So I like the Mets money line.

Speaker 2 (53:50):
Nice ace.

Speaker 1 (53:51):
The Braves. I hate to say this because I want
them to lose, but Max Freed is pitching tonight and
they're playing the Royals, who are not They're not high
right now, so I'm going Braves, Mets. And you gave
him props the other day and he's been on my mind.
The Padres are pitching you you Darvish. He became, by

(54:13):
the way, this week he was in contention, Yeah, the
first Japanese born player, Japanese player to record two thousand shrinkouts,
and you Darvish is pitching for the Pods as they
take on the Arizona Diamondbacks. And as a Mets fan,
I want the d Backs to lose. So you got
the Mets. Braves hadres three team parlay MLB twenty bucks

(54:38):
pays one hundred. What's twenty bucks? Right?

Speaker 2 (54:40):
All right, there you go. It's time for weekend hob nobbin.

Speaker 5 (54:43):
For the weekend, you're winning bets for talking points. If
you get stuck socialize You ever done anything dangerous?

Speaker 2 (54:50):
You ever dance with the devil in the panel line?

Speaker 5 (54:53):
Friday brings us.

Speaker 2 (54:55):
Weekend hob nomin All right, I'll kick it off. UFC
fight night.

Speaker 1 (54:59):
We're not Oh moy Kano in a lightweight battles Ben Wah,
Saint Dennis, so Moikano, Saint Dennis. Look out for that
UFC fight Night. Enjoy some fights. I don't know what
you said before Glass just started levitating moy Kano. I'll
leave American Sports story for Danny g I'll say this.
I got someone's password for Paramount. I mean Tulsa King

(55:21):
season two. Right, I'm gonna catch up on that. Season
two's out and it's doing well. People are saying that's
like one of the big hits for Paramount. Absolutely yes,
Sylvester Sloan doing his thing. And of course I gotta
watch my Yankees against the Pirates Recess.

Speaker 2 (55:36):
Who cares?

Speaker 1 (55:37):
Because I want every game matter. Every game matters positioning,
like you said, but I want Aaron Judge to hit
his sixty itth going for sixty eight is fifty eight
last night? But can you set up with alert on
your phone like Judges about the bat next time?

Speaker 7 (55:51):
You enjoy it?

Speaker 2 (55:53):
Man, I enjoy it. Get ready for the postseason. He's
not gonna hit three home runs in one game, I'll
tell you that much. How he will go to bet
on that right now?

Speaker 1 (56:01):
All right, let me give you a couple of Netflix things.
Some people are trashing it. I watched it and listen
maybe because I like her and I like her sarcasm.
I enjoyed the Ellen Degenerous stand up special. I'll watch
it real for sure. It's an hour And if you
like Ellen's like snarky, supposed to be her last one
it is.

Speaker 2 (56:18):
And you know what you realize? Yeah, she's witty and
fun and so who cares what you mean?

Speaker 1 (56:23):
You know?

Speaker 2 (56:24):
Come on, I like Allen. I watched it. I thought
it was good.

Speaker 1 (56:27):
Nobody wants this. I wanna watch this with the wife
if you need like a little rom commish type of thing.
It's a series and it's Kristin Bell, who I love
and it's Adam Brody. If you're ever from the OC
back in the day, he's a rabbi and followed me
that sounds like weird. And she's a sex podcaster. Yeah,
she's a sext a match. She's a sex podcaster. He's

(56:48):
a rabbi, and everyone's like, you shouldn't be together. And
it's like sound of like an R rated rom com
series on Netflix at debuts this weekend. So there you go,
Kristen Bell, Adam Brody, that's called Nobody Wants And of
course most of all you're fiyo. Mister McMahon on Netflix
is so freaking good. I can't rave about it enough.

Speaker 2 (57:11):
Listen.

Speaker 1 (57:12):
I was a big wrestling fan as a kid. Then
I dipped away when I discovered I don't know women.
You know, solidified for me Rich Like I'm not saying
he's a he's a good guy. He's a terrible guy,
amazing businessman, he's a genius. But he's solidified for me
that he's the greatest wrestling heel of all time.

Speaker 2 (57:25):
Oh, Vince McMahon. It might be a piece of trash,
but he is a genius. Yeah. And you know what,
if you watch wrestling in the eighties or nineties. There's
a lot of people.

Speaker 1 (57:33):
The only criticism is if you're a wrestling fan, I
didn't learn anything I didn't know.

Speaker 2 (57:39):
It doesn't doesn't matter. It's just so well done.

Speaker 1 (57:42):
And they got all the talking heads, Hogan, the Rock,
Brett Hart, like every superstar.

Speaker 2 (57:48):
Is in this as a talking head. Yeah, Paul Hogan,
not Paul Hogan. Crocodile g what you got all right?

Speaker 3 (57:58):
Streaming wise, bad Monkey on Apple can't say enough about it.
And the Aaron Hernandez story. Josh rivera who you guys
interviewed on over Promise. What a spectacular performance so far.
You're digging it right, Yeah, that's on Hulu.

Speaker 2 (58:10):
I'm so pumped because episode three just came out right.

Speaker 3 (58:13):
So, and we talked a lot of NFL today. Let
me hit the college really quick. Week five. Minnesota at
number twelve, Michigan number twenty, Oklahoma State at number twenty three,
Kansas State number fifteen, Louisville at number twelve, Notre Dame
number two, Georgia at number four, Alabama number that'd.

Speaker 2 (58:28):
Be Georgia Alabama number.

Speaker 3 (58:30):
Nineteen, Illinois at number nine, Penn State. That's where Jonas
Knox and LeVar Errington were broadcasting live at the Graduate
this morning, so yeah, you could hear more from them
on Two Pros and a Cup of Joe's podcast after
you listen to our podcast. And by the way, tomorrow
morning at six am Eastern, the best of the week
from Covino and Rich drops on all podcasting platforms.

Speaker 1 (58:52):
Now before we go to spot and I was Sam,
I just want to point out that Georgia Alabama game
so tight that in Vegas a lot of places.

Speaker 2 (58:58):
It's a pick them.

Speaker 1 (59:00):
I mean, we're talking two undefeated teams, the legacies Georgia
at Alabama. Even if you're a casual college fan. That
game is on four point thirty out here on the
West Coast, all right, real quick, because you can't get
enough of them, gotta check out on Hulu.

Speaker 2 (59:14):
I guess it's FX on Hulu.

Speaker 1 (59:15):
Grotesqueree with none other than Travis Kelcey, Oh, your favorite actor.

Speaker 2 (59:19):
Apparently he's a bad boy.

Speaker 1 (59:21):
So if you have this image of Travis Kelcey, please
and in theaters, if you get into the theaters.

Speaker 2 (59:25):
I think we mentioned this.

Speaker 1 (59:26):
Megalopolis is hitting theaters. That's the new Francis Ford Coppola film,
which apparently is supposed to like answer all his critics
from throughout the year. I don't know, but looks it's
got a pretty all star cast, so check it out. Cole.

Speaker 2 (59:38):
And now that Caitlin Clark's out, what are you watching this?
Watching her twitter feed?

Speaker 1 (59:42):
I'll be watching I'll be watching a lot of college football,
not a college football. And you like Alabama or Georgia,
I don't know. Thanks for the great analysis. We'll see
you guys on one day. Have a great weekende guys,
