Speaker 2 (01:28):
I guess you would say what their assessment.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
Yeah, and stick around because this hour we play Showtime
Homes Trivia giving away some prizes eight seven seven ninety
nine on Fox some NFL trivia if we want to
play along. And speaking of Mahomes, I think Travis Kelcey
seems to be very unhappy. There's a lot of speculation
around it too. There's a thought I have about Kelsey
We're going to get to in a second. Devonte Adams
(01:52):
is clearly unhappy.
Speaker 2 (01:54):
Same thought as Antonio bra Yeah, baby.
Speaker 1 (01:56):
The Mets, Jesse Winker line driving down the line. I
think the Mets might score two on this and tie
the game. Vantos around to score.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
Oh yeah, Winker just did the worm.
Speaker 1 (02:06):
Oh Jeff, you got a lot of to score. Oh man, Alonzo,
he was I mean for him to score, you got
to hit to the corner and get the ball caught
under the fence. So again to to slight new game
to two Matt sprewers. Man, this is a crazy game,
crazy day of baseball. This is one of those times
(02:29):
where you know when you have your dumb buddies that
don't have to talk about this for a living all morning.
My dumb Met fan friends were like, why is j D.
Martinez sitting? What do they got winker in there? And
I'm like, maybe Mendoza knows something about pitching matchups. They're
the manager for a reason. How do you feel about
Jady Martinez? By the way, guy hits bombs? We know that.
What's your take on as a Met? I liked Mendoza's
(02:51):
speech when the Mets clinched yesterday.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
When j D.
Speaker 1 (02:54):
Martinez signed with the Mets, he said, I'm I'm I'm
addicted to the playoff and everyone laughed at him.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
Then why would you go to the Mets? And that's who?
Speaker 1 (03:04):
That's who the manager quoted in the postgame celebration saying
that he's a great leader, a veteran, great to know,
but I mean he is like one for the last
forty so I'm saying he seemed a little sad about
the playoff schedule, talking about unhappy players, unhappy athletes. He
vocally expressed his discontent with how it was handled and
(03:26):
how they had back to back games and doubleheaders and
they're playing today and a lot of travel. Seemed unhappy
about it. And you know, he seems unhappy about slumping
a little bit. You look at his body language and
look at Lindor's body language. It's like night and day.
That's why I ask, but agreed. Always rooting for that
dude and rooting for your mets. Rich At the moment,
it's all tied up. But players man, especially in the NFL.
(03:47):
You see how much power an impact player has if
they don't want to be there anymore. Yes, is the
culture we live in. And it's funny because I came
up in a time. Look, we're not superstars. Most of
us listening, hanging out, not superstars. So we have to
suck it up right, We just have to roll through
the motions. I remember, early on in my career, Rich,
I was going through a breakup and I was like
(04:08):
when when every day I was moping around the office
and I was again early in my career of radio,
one of my buddies came up to me, pulled me
aside and they're like, hey, listen, man, whatever's going on
you with you personally? I get it, He's like, but
you don't bring it to the office, and if you're
unhappy whatever, like, don't let.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
People know about it. He crying at the radio.
Speaker 3 (04:30):
Stop.
Speaker 1 (04:30):
But if you're a superstar in today's world, you're unhappy,
especially like your colleagues or the coach or whatever, express
it and you're out. You get what you want. That's
just the way the world works. And I guess it's
like you said, Rich Amicable, if DeVante Adams really is
unhappy for whatever reason, maybe it's Minshew, maybe it's the leadership,
maybe it's maybe it's the coach Antonio peers. Then they're
(04:55):
not gonna get his best so it's bettert and best
for the Raiders to say, well, then all right, we'll
move on to get a number two draft pick and
find something else.
Speaker 2 (05:03):
So I get it.
Speaker 1 (05:04):
It's a mutual sort of agreement. But not everybody gets
that luxury of calling the shots. So when you do,
I guess he answer yourself this covido, when you are unhappy, yeah,
or most regular people just got to suck it up.
In a relationship. If you're lucky enough to be a
professional athlete. Do you think vocalizing your unhappiness is it
(05:29):
good or bad luck? Bad luck unless you're a superstar,
squeak You have been the guy that says, squeaky Wheel
gets the he's earned that. He's a superstar. So that's
the luxury and benefit of being a superstar. When we
were at our a previous job, right, we didn't get
along with some of the bosses there. We didn't, but
you know what we were expected to do every day,
(05:49):
deliver and perform and not bring that into the workplace,
and hey, you didn't get along everybody.
Speaker 2 (05:56):
Hey, that's life.
Speaker 1 (05:57):
I'm just relating it and showing you the intrast and
difference between regular people or an average player and a superstar.
Speaker 4 (06:05):
When you're having problems in your relationship, do you get
more benefit out of complaining about it to every single
one of your friends or do you get more benefit
out of going to your partner and discussing it and
figuring out a solution.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
Yeah, he probably could have worked it out.
Speaker 1 (06:19):
I get what you're saying. He doesn't have to because
he's DeVante. I'm saying, at this stage of the game,
spot DeVante Adams is a just saying Pro Bowl top
ten wide receiver. Him and Aaron Rodgers were one of
the best duos ever when they were in Green Bay.
You think Aaron Rodgers shoots him a text? Do you
think he'll reach out and communicate? He can't imagine him not,
(06:39):
but you think so, right? If betting man, I bet.
Speaker 5 (06:43):
You know Aaron Rodgers is pushing his front office all right,
He's already been texting.
Speaker 2 (06:48):
I mean, if you do it.
Speaker 1 (06:50):
If Aaron Rodgers told the Jets to get Randall Cobb
last year, you don't think they're trying to get DeVante
Adams this year.
Speaker 5 (06:55):
You know, to spots point though, about bleeding your heart
to friends and family people around you, rather than just
trying to work it out behind the scenes with that
one person.
Speaker 2 (07:05):
You're having the.
Speaker 5 (07:06):
Issue with both guys, Ap and Davante, two passionate guys
and two emotional guys. Just a couple of weeks ago,
a lot of people were like, man, maybe Ap should
have took a couple of breaths before the press conference afterwards.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
Already called out the business decisions. Yeah, business decisions.
Speaker 5 (07:22):
Where Jones on the defense didn't make a tackle and
so he sat for the first half of the game
last weekend, and there was some you know, speculation, was
he talking about Davante Adams.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
Because of course everybody went right to that.
Speaker 5 (07:34):
But both guys emotional, so I can see where maybe
they would not get along. But they need to be
talking to each other behind the scenes.
Speaker 4 (07:44):
When you're when you're negotiating with emotions, you're playing checkers,
you're playing baby games.
Speaker 1 (07:51):
Explain how about on social media? Spot the whole thing
was a baby game story.
Speaker 4 (07:54):
To be honest, you're better off, like, you know, keeping
things close to the chest and being a little bit
smart about how you express yourself and when you express
yourself and where you express yourself and who you express
yourself to. If you're just letting it out, it's it's
eventually going to work again.
Speaker 1 (08:08):
Hold on, let me this two layers. I just wrote that,
wrote this down because I didn't want to forget. I don't
want to forget because everyone's making great points and which
is rare for it, and I'm watching the Mets. Winker
uh scored on a sack fly by paying attention to
the Mets Starling Marte. No, I'm writing down my points,
you knucklehead. I wrote down that nowaday compared to the seventies, eighties, nineties,
(08:29):
even two thousands. Social media is a layer of this,
of course, where a guy's unhappiness always in negotiations, he
unfollows his team, he unfollows us.
Speaker 2 (08:41):
These are this, These are just other tactics.
Speaker 1 (08:44):
And when you see the coach and your star player
not talking, oh we haven't talked.
Speaker 2 (08:49):
You haven't talked. You haven't talked.
Speaker 1 (08:51):
About whatevery so every sports talk TV and radio show
is talking about it, but you two haven't even addressed
this Antonio Pierce, DeVante Adams thing. And the other layer
is you're seeing more and more. When we were younger,
good players, great players had this loyalty to a team.
I'm sticking with the team that drafted me. I'm there, yeah,
I'm good to go, regardless of the relationship with the
(09:11):
cold Look at the look at the what I wrote
down there, short shelf life these I was wondering if
you could read that, because you haven't got your glasses yet.
There's also a lot of phallic images you're drawing on
that paper. What's what's going on there? Mind your business?
So what are the initials? PA with a heart around it.
Speaker 2 (09:31):
Short shelf life.
Speaker 1 (09:32):
Devonte Adams, like Dan Byer pointed out, it's not twenty
two thirty two, and DeVante Adams may say, I want
to get to that promised land.
Speaker 2 (09:42):
I want to win a super Bowl.
Speaker 1 (09:45):
You know, outside of Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay and
I how long.
Speaker 2 (09:48):
Has DeVante been there? How long was Devonte?
Speaker 3 (09:52):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (09:53):
Third season? Those I'm saying with the Raiders for a
couple but then yeah Vegas.
Speaker 1 (09:58):
Yeah, maybe he's saying like they may have like three
good more years. I've I don't see myself winning with
Gardner Minshew and Antonio Pierce. Why I have my own
personal goals. I got to look out for DeVante first
and maybe getting dealt somewhere. That's how players look at
it now. And those are superstar players we're talking about,
because not everyone gets to call the shot in the NBA.
Speaker 2 (10:18):
How many times you see players and I'll be like, yo,
I want to I just want to shot.
Speaker 1 (10:22):
He had eight years in Green Bay and three with
the Raiders. Yeah, third with the Raiders, so eleven years
in the league, and well that's it. I mean, you
just realized he just missed out on the Green Bay
Packer Super Bowl year. Yeah, so by missing out, he
doesn't have that one. Aaron Rodgers Super Bowl.
Speaker 5 (10:39):
Rich you mentioned that series wide receiver receiver on what
was it Netflix? Aman Ross Saint Brown, who had man
that toe tapping end zone grab last night, was beautiful.
Speaker 2 (10:52):
He's great. He spotty.
Speaker 5 (10:54):
What's the name of that video show where they eat
the hot sauce hot ones?
Speaker 2 (10:58):
Yeah? Ones.
Speaker 5 (10:59):
It was Saint Brown facing off with Davante Adams and
of course if you don't want to answer the question,
you you eat the wing with the hot sauce that
makes you grab the glass of milk. And their question
for both of them was to answer for the other guy,
what's his weakest part of his game? And they both
are like whoa and a Monroe. Saint Brown said that
(11:21):
Davante Adam's weakest part of his game was he showed
too much emotions on the field in the sideline.
Speaker 2 (11:28):
DeVante Adam was like, oh, I hate to hear that,
but all right.
Speaker 1 (11:31):
Yeah, and I could I could see that, you know.
And by the way, he's thirty one years old. Yeah,
gotta a thirty step point in December. So that's the story.
We're seeing some unhappy star players in the league. Some
of it speculation. I think the DeVante Adams one, it
is clear to say that's true. Your thoughts on that
(11:52):
feel free to chime in. And you know, does the
head coach matter?
Speaker 2 (11:55):
Does that? How much does that matter? I think it
does matter.
Speaker 1 (11:58):
But I think we grew up in a time where
you know, you make the adjustment or you're still expected
to play because he had a loyalty. You know, I'll
give you a leame example. You know, Reggie Jackson did
get along with Billy Martin, but he was still expected
to play his best if he wasn't going anywhere, even
if there was times that you thought they might choke
each other in the dougout.
Speaker 2 (12:15):
That's what I mean.
Speaker 1 (12:16):
And you're like, oh, but he's the manager, so hey,
Reddy Jackson better still play well or whatever. But then
Tay's well, it's way different if you're a superstar, And
that's just really a matter of accepting that it's just different. Now,
before we get to show showtime, mahomes trivia, we'll talk
some more NFL have some fun with that. I have
a question about Travis Kelsey because you jokingly.
Speaker 2 (12:37):
Put him away tie game. No it's not. Yeah, I
think so you sure, Yeah, just got a double. I
thought it was man on Your eyes are bad? Huh,
I thought there was a man. Uh. There'll be the
tie game if they get a hit.
Speaker 1 (12:50):
Now, Travis Kelcey, he seems sad, but then again, that's
the image, the imagery we're seeing everywhere social media. He's
not getting the ball the way he wants Mahomes defend.
You know, maybe we'll ask Mahomes when he gets here
this week. This past week, he had more yards than
the whole season combined so far, and there was speculation
(13:13):
as to why has Taylor Swift not been at his
last couple of games, and they pulled the clip from
when he had his reality show back in the day.
Speaker 2 (13:24):
Was it Chasing Kelsey?
Speaker 4 (13:25):
Chasing Chasing Kelsey?
Speaker 1 (13:27):
Yes, there was a clip where he said, yeah, whoever
I end up with girlfriend wife, I don't expect him
to be at every game. In fact, I don't expect
my family to be at every game. There's eight home games,
eight road games, then you got the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (13:41):
I don't expect it.
Speaker 1 (13:43):
And it got me thinking, do you ever expect your
family to come support you at events or things you do?
Or if you were an athlete would you want them
there all the time, because there are big league players
whose moms still go to all their games, like as
if they're in little league. You work out that doesn't
like that pressure. Your mom has visited the studio one
time and we've been working together twenty years because you
(14:04):
don't want the pressure.
Speaker 2 (14:06):
No, that's not why. I mean.
Speaker 1 (14:09):
She doesn't want to. She gets nervous from me, and
I just don't like her energy. That's that's my side
of it, because I know she's like nervous about something.
So for them, it's I don't know that's on them
to do. It is an added element of pressure when
there's someone close to you there and I get that,
But if they're there all the time, then you're used
to that as a performer. Let's say, Cavino, let's say
(14:32):
life turned out different and instead of a radio tycoon
that you are and broadcasting podcaster of glory, let's say
you played short stuff for the Dodgers. If I play
short stuff for you, do you want Jordan and your
girlfriend at every home game like Steve? Yeah, Well no,
I wouldn't expect it, but I wouldn't deny it either, right,
so I would be okay with that, And as far
(14:52):
as family members, I'm sure they were there for along
the whole journey and going to as many games support
you as possible, So you're just used to it at
that point.
Speaker 2 (15:01):
That's all.
Speaker 1 (15:02):
But there is speculation as to why Tailor's not there.
This regulation is not for me because I don't give
no no. If you follow social media, there's a lot
of it. Not like she's like a schlub, but that
doesn't do anything. I understand, Like you know, you can
carve out time for one game, but like she also
has to live her own life. Yeah, she's a mega
(15:23):
billionaire pop star. She's the most popular global recording artist
and just did a billion dollar world tour. If she may,
maybe she just wants to sit it out on a
Sunday and not travel to where her boyfriend's playing, or.
Speaker 4 (15:35):
Maybe she has like commitments, or maybe she's working on
a new album.
Speaker 1 (15:38):
Who knows, and he's probably not saying it off for
all we know, unless there's something going on they don't know.
Do you think there was ever a conversation of hey, listen,
I'm not having the best year. You don't got to
come to the next few games. It's just going to get
idiots talking more possible.
Speaker 4 (15:52):
I mean, there was already speculation that I thought that's
part of the reason why she didn't show up, because
of the backlashed as she was causing. Sometimes we'll never
decided to take herself out of the equation.
Speaker 2 (16:04):
I don't think even I don't think they've been discussed
that on.
Speaker 4 (16:06):
Maybe it was maybe it was to avoid the narrative
of your distraction. So if you remove the distraction, then
you know, well, it doesn't help. It's it doesn't help
it it's best game exactly. It's a knowledge story because
then it's like, okay, so she is a distraction.
Speaker 1 (16:21):
And you know, just sort of it just sort of
goes to so many other topics, not just your girlfriend
or wife or husband, boyfriend. You you asked the question,
what your daughter is a cheerleader? Do you have to
go to every game because she's cheering? If your kid
do like, do you have to go to every game?
Is that just what a good parent or any as
you can and as long as they know you're there,
(16:42):
You know, I think that's really the rule because a
lot of these high school games, they're happening when most
people are working, so it's kind of tough, so you
do what you can as a parent, but as a
significant other. I don't think it's that big of a deal.
People are just speculating, But I do think it's interesting
to see how, you know, we were and the average
person was taught to suck it up and yeah, you
(17:04):
got a thing with your boss, you don't get along. Yeah,
I mean you're free to leave, but you gotta suck
it up. In today's world, if you're a superstar more
and more and we've accepted it, ye power the powers
like all right, well you know I'm not happy. You
don't want an unhappy guy on your team. Dan. Of
course they're like, no, and we don't very rare. I
guess we'll make that work. In fact, that's when you
(17:25):
brought up the Reggie Jackson example. That was one of
the few circumstances where the player seemed to have some pull.
Speaker 2 (17:31):
Yeah, because it's like, well, who's that?
Speaker 1 (17:33):
Are you going to take Reggie Jackson, who's the star
of your team, or Billy Martin or something? Right, So
that was one of the few times where it's like, wow,
who has more power here? I think you're seeing it
more than ever now. The power is in the hands
of the star player. All right, listen, we got wild
card games going. The Mets clinging onto a three to
two lead. We're in the top of the ninth. Kansas
(17:53):
City's got a one to zero lead over Baltimore, and
coming up next, we're gonna talk some football because we

the leadoff runner on and it's two to zero on
the batter, So Baltimore trying to get something cooking in

the bottom of the ninth.
Speaker 2 (21:55):
Rich you realize how quickly these games are moving. I
love it right. I can't say I hate it right,
It's noticeable. The pace has been great, moving quick.
Speaker 1 (22:03):
So enjoy your baseball, and again, I hope you had
a Titans lion sort of Monday. You know what, I'm
noticing a lot of people on social media loved to complain,
But I'm curious if you think this complaint is a
worthy complaint. Worthy a lot of people saying they're hating
the advertisements on the player helmets in baseball. It's a
new thing. So if you haven't noticed it, you're not
(22:26):
missing anything. It started today.
Speaker 2 (22:28):
It's hard to not notice.
Speaker 1 (22:29):
Well, I immediately think, look at baseball cashing in, But
I'm not like mad at it. When you're looking from
the pitch to pitch, like you know, from the back
of the pitcher, you don't notice it. But every time
they do the close up of the hitter in the
batter's box, you're seeing a big ass logo on their helmet.
Speaker 2 (22:45):
It's noticeable.
Speaker 1 (22:46):
It does seem a little sellout, ith noticeable, but it
like to be mad about it, like social media is reacting.
I'm not mad, but you but social I see the
reaction on social media. People are so mad about everything.
You got unhappy Devanta Adams, unhappy people and social media relaxed.
I mean it does say, you know, you're watching the
the Orioles trying to make a comeback here, and it
(23:07):
says Strauss on their helmet that it is slightly distracting,
but hey, we got some good wildcard baseball, and we'll
keep you in the loop on anything and I want
to bring up one little fun fact that we'll hit
up mahomes trivia on this day. Danny g I know
you're a big you like to bring the kids to
Disney once in a while. Disney World in order of
Mister Toad's Wild Rhyme. Yeah, that was one of my favorites.
(23:29):
I love California Adventure Ario Man. I love when Tiger
Bug was flying across during the fireworks.
Speaker 2 (23:34):
It's all that Danny says that stuff all the time. No,
it's when Buzz was flying cross. So sorry, miss Candy Buzz.
Speaker 1 (23:42):
Disney Today was the day Disney World in Orlando opened up.
And guess how much it costs in nineteen seventy one
to get into Disney World.
Speaker 5 (23:52):
I'm gonna say four dollars and fifty cents, close, three
dollars and fifty cents.
Speaker 1 (23:56):
And if you do one of those inflation calculators, you
know what it should cost now to get into.
Speaker 2 (24:00):
Disney Probably fifty five dollars twenty seven dollars.
Speaker 1 (24:04):
Wow, it's like one hundred and seventy dollars, right, two
hundred dollars, So yeah, inflation. Oh and you know, since
I am an on this day type of guy, I
know you love to say that the model t Ford
was released today. Eight hundred and twenty five dollars for
the premium car. For the premium model t Ford out
of the factory eight hundred and twenty five dollars today
(24:28):
would be a state sh It would be the equivalent
of buying a brand new luxury car now for twenty
seven thousand dollars, picked up my own lady and breathing.
Speaker 2 (24:38):
He's just so damn expensive. All right, let's get into it.
Speaker 3 (24:41):
Showtime of Homes Mike Tyson was a mania.
Speaker 2 (24:47):
I want your heart, I want to eat at children.
Speaker 3 (24:48):
Put an ear to this. If you're a boxing brainy act.
Speaker 8 (24:54):
Starting to rop Mike, no disrespect, Patrick Mahomes. Here, it's
showtime Mahomes Trivia's Tyson Tuesday takeover.
Speaker 2 (25:02):

about this. I'm really sorry, Mike.
Speaker 3 (25:07):
You get the week off, Mike.
Speaker 2 (25:08):
Let's go all right.
Speaker 5 (25:11):
Look who's walking into the main studio FSR security.
Speaker 8 (25:16):
And when I see these wild card games, I'm really
happy I chose football.
Speaker 2 (25:21):
So what pressure in these games? You're a three time super.
Speaker 8 (25:24):
Bowls Yeah, yep, Hey, guys, good to see if Patrick Mahomes.
Speaker 5 (25:27):
Here, got Pater Hey, that was a nice tackle the
other day against your wide receiver.
Speaker 8 (25:32):
Right, that was unfortunate, my head gotten away, but uh yeah,
it takes me back to when my dad was playing baseball,
and man, good games today.
Speaker 1 (25:39):
Rich, I'll tell you what, Patrick Mahomes, I love you guys.
At home against the Saints this coming.
Speaker 8 (25:44):
Monday, not gonna be two and three, will be five
and Oh but even though we'll be undefeated, still got
a lot of.
Speaker 2 (25:51):
Work to do.
Speaker 8 (25:52):
I gotta get Travis de balllmore just to make him smile.
He had eighty nine yards just this week. But uh,
you know, I gotta get him a tuddy this coming week.
But we'll be five and you know we're we're in
perfect but we're winning on experience.
Speaker 2 (26:04):

Speaker 9 (26:35):
I am a supervisor for fans ship.
Speaker 5 (26:39):
What makes you so super sup? Here are the rules
for Showtime Homes NFL trivia. The first contestant with two
correct answers is the champion. If there's a tie, we
have a tie breaker question. Your name is your buzzer,
but you do have to wait until all three possible
answers are read. If there's two wrong answers in a row,
we move on to the next question. Are you ready? Yeah,
(26:59):
let's get.
Speaker 2 (26:59):
It all all right here, Patrick Mahomes.
Speaker 8 (27:02):
Which NFL team has the longest playoff win drought the
most years without a postseason win? A?
Speaker 2 (27:09):
The Jets be the commanders? Or see the Dolphins?
Speaker 1 (27:13):
Right right?
Speaker 2 (27:14):
Oh the Jets?
Speaker 5 (27:19):
No damn Buyer for the steal see yes, the Dolphins.
Speaker 8 (27:24):
Dolphins last playoff win was in the two thousand wild card.
Speaker 2 (27:28):
I I who gonn say it was? With Mark Duper.
It was over the.
Speaker 5 (27:33):
Seahawks when they were still in the AFC. Wow, all right,
we'll move on to round two. Buyer on the board.
Speaker 8 (27:39):
All right, Patrick Mahomes here, who had the second most
passing yards in Week four of the NFL season. A.
Jordan Love B. C. J. Stroud or C Jared gott
Rich Rich Jordan, Yes, wow, damn eighty nine yards. Had
a big game.
Speaker 1 (27:59):
They lost, but you know what, a lot of times
those are those padded stats that Matthew Stafford had for
like a decade where you're always try You're always trying
to come back.
Speaker 5 (28:07):
Yeah, and I love some of the coverage too. Did
the Packers rush him back too quickly?
Speaker 3 (28:12):
Now?
Speaker 1 (28:12):
Did you see mahomes look up? You should be happy
your pals in Kansas City. Just one game one? All right,
we gratulations.
Speaker 2 (28:20):
We move on to round three. All right, Round three?
Wire and Rich on the board so far? All right?
Speaker 8 (28:25):
What was I once quoted as saying about my starting football. A.
I didn't play Pop Warner or anything. B. The referees
even love me and youth football. Or see the first
time I picked up a football, I do a perfect
spiral and my dad smiled his game for my dad
played baseball, all right, I grew up playing baseball.
Speaker 2 (28:45):
Yeah, Ray trying to get on the board. We're hey,
A yes, there go you, shir It's not the one
where the refs love you. I mean they you kind
of love me. We did a jersey swap three weeks
in a row.
Speaker 8 (28:58):
Yeah, it was I and play Pop Warner or anything
that's kind of a natural cool.
Speaker 5 (29:03):
We have a good game going Buyer, Rich and Ray
three way ties. We go to round four.
Speaker 2 (29:07):
All right, round four?
Speaker 8 (29:09):
How many Heisman Trophy winners have gone to be MVP
in the league?
Speaker 2 (29:14):
A five, B seven or C nine?
Speaker 5 (29:18):
Hey, right, Ray, trying to win here? What's your answer?
We'll go with seven? Yes, yeah, you called an audible
because I thought he said at first, let me tell Yeah,
he said seven to seven right on the money, Hornet,
he said, Simpson, Campbell, Allan Sanders, Newton and Lamar Jackson.
Speaker 2 (29:42):
Yeah. I was gonna say, who's the last one. It's Lamar, right, yes, sir,
Evan Heisman Trophy winners have gone to be MVP. And
look at that.
Speaker 5 (29:49):
Tennessee joins our mailing list for a shiny new CNR switch.
Speaker 2 (29:53):
Hey, congratulations, right, thanks for listening, brother.
Speaker 1 (29:55):
Thank you.
Speaker 8 (29:56):
Anyway to go? And uh yeah, guys, I gotta get
ready for the Saints. See, you can't put your money
on me. Let's go five and no Chiefs. Thank you guys. Later,
Patrick Mahomes, thanks all right, guys.
Speaker 2 (30:08):
Later broke Patrick, see later, now goodbye. Now let's kick
it to Damn Buyer for an update.
Speaker 10 (30:13):
What's up, Damn Bayer, guys, It's been a while since
the Dolphins won a playoff game. It's also been a
little while since the Orioles have done so as well.
Swinging a ground ball face hitler field, Bobby Wit.
Speaker 5 (30:26):
Junior drives in Mike cal Garcia and how many times
should we say that?
Speaker 2 (30:30):
In the first half and the Royals lead, won nothing
in the sixth was the only run of the game.
Speaker 10 (30:36):
Royals top the Orioles won nothing on the Royals Radio
network to get game one of their best of three series.
For the Orioles, they haven't won a game since twenty
four to win a playoff game since twenty fourteen in
the Divisional series.
Speaker 1 (30:50):
Earlier, Dan Bayer, we were saying, how Pete Rose, you'd
have to hit over two hundred hits a season for
over twenty years to match Pete Rose. This year in
middle league baseball, only two people over two hundred hits,
and Bobby Wood Junior led the league in hits.
Speaker 2 (31:04):
So no surprise.
Speaker 10 (31:05):
Timely hit in the sixth inning was the only run
of the game, so they're up one game to none
in the best of three series. Tigers are as well
on the Astros thanks to Trek Scoobel.
Speaker 1 (31:14):
Scoo Bull sets three nothing Tigers in the sixty two
swinging a mess.
Speaker 2 (31:18):
I'll pin away with a ninety nine mile an hour heater.
Speaker 10 (31:22):
Scooball was great today six innings, struck out six as
the Tigers ended up winning three to one over the Astros.
On the Tigers radio network, met's on top of the
Brewers right now, top of the fourth inning, three to
two New York as they play in Milwaukee, Braves and
Padres eight thirty Eastern time tonight.
Speaker 9 (31:38):
Now.
Speaker 10 (31:39):
The Las Vegas Review Journal got these stories going today
that the Raiders reached out to other teams about their
interest in wide receiver DeVante Adams. ESPN a few hours
later says the Raiders are asking for a second round
pick plus other compensation as part of a deal. The
NFL Network says Adams went to the Raiders and says
he'd prefer to be traded instead of staying in Las
(31:59):
Vegas Bill's edge rusher Von Miller suspended four games for
violating the league's personal conduct policy. Brown's defensive lineman Mike
Hall Junior was suspended five games for violating the policy.
Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers told The Pat mcavie Show he's
dealing with a swollen knee, saying he's a bit banged
up heading into their matchup in London against the Vikings.
Cowboys plays defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence on injured reserve with
(32:21):
his foot injury. Kenzeg is officially joining the PAC twelve
in all sports but football. The Mountain West is adding UTEP,
putting that league at seven full time members.
Speaker 2 (32:29):
Guys back to.
Speaker 1 (32:30):
You, Davante Adams stand byer, saying that he prefers the trade.
You know what I've always said, compared to like a
reality show, Like that's like on the Bachelorette, when the
guy that you knew she was gonna pick, he's like, yeah,
I'm not in love with you, And then some other
guys she picks, and he's like, she want have picked him.
You don't want to be with someone that doesn't want
to be with you. No, So the Raiders have to
make a move.
Speaker 2 (32:50):
You can't. I've alway said it. These pros ain't loyal.
Speaker 10 (32:53):
Bro Well, I also think Devanta Adams is saving a
little face. Maybe maybe not. But all of a sudden,
this report comes out after the were seeking offers for
the wide receiver.
Speaker 2 (33:04):
I mean that is true.
Speaker 1 (33:05):
I mean, but that would be if Cavino's like, you know,
I prefer to work with someone other than Rich, and
then it's like, Rich, I guess I'll work with you.
I would not be here to work with Kelsey's brothers.
They gotta have sweet contract, you know what. I wouldn't
play that happened. But DeVante Adams. I just read an
article on CBS Sports Steelers, Commanders, and Jets are among
the three teams that are favorite too. Steelers who win,
(33:26):
the Jets, Commanders and Jets. Jaden Daniels with a add
a wide receiver like DeVante, a veteran guy like that,
that could put Washington over the top. And you were
DeVante Adams, wouldn't you want to play again? Familiarity with
Aaron Rodgers, New York, New Jersey. But still the Jets.
I think the answer is the Jets right there. Well,
your thoughts and well, we'll take your feedback. Next, talk
(33:48):
a little more NFL. Would you want to deal with
the questionable quarterback situation in Pittsburgh?
Speaker 2 (33:54):
Not so much. I don't think so. No or Washington potential,
but listen to be the Jets? All right?
Speaker 1 (34:01):

What's up? Man?
Speaker 9 (36:13):
Hey, what's up? What's what's going on? Fellas? How you'll doing?
Speaker 2 (36:15):
G by man?
Speaker 1 (36:16):
You're You're Tigers winning, your Lion's winning? If you having
a good twenty four hours in Detroit.
Speaker 9 (36:21):
Let me tell you something. And then one of them teams. Mind,
I don't claim them. I'm not like a I'm not
a homer, you know what I'm saying. I look at
each league and the do not determine which team I
want to root for. So it's not necessarily guaranteed that
I will root for a Detroit team. So I might roll.
I think I'm roll with the Pistons maybe, but as
far some other two teams, I'm good on them. I'm
rolling with the Ravens all the way. But now let
(36:42):
me say there's two fellas I wanted to talk about
Devonte Adams. Yeah. Uh, and I need to say two fellas.
Give people more time to talk because I want to
see you guys go to the next level. You can't
go to the next run.
Speaker 2 (36:52):
We only have two hours.
Speaker 1 (36:53):
We only have two hours, and you go on and
on and on and on and on and now we don't.
Speaker 2 (36:57):
Have as many interviews on this show because we only
have two hours.
Speaker 3 (37:00):
Do it?
Speaker 9 (37:00):
You exaggerate? May get people in at least another minute.
Speaker 1 (37:03):
Dude, if we had a three hour show, we'd have
more interviews, more callers, for sure.
Speaker 2 (37:07):
I don't even talk that much.
Speaker 9 (37:09):
Yeah, the next level, man, I tell you that I
get to the next level talking to the people. But anyway,
are we talk to.
Speaker 2 (37:14):
The people more than anyone else on this network? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (37:16):
That's maybe other than Ben Maller who's talking to the
late nights, you know, the late Yeah, I mean.
Speaker 9 (37:22):
Come on you, Levante Adams is doing the right things.
Speaker 1 (37:26):
Listen.
Speaker 9 (37:27):
The NFL ain't got no loyalty and those teams that
got no loyalty to African Americans. We don't even have
an African American owned poom.
Speaker 1 (37:36):
What you lost me received? I don't think race has
anything to do with DeVante Adams. And you got a
black guy calling the shots and a black coach, and
it seems like.
Speaker 5 (37:45):
A black president of the team. Yeah, come on, man,
the wrong team to go after that.
Speaker 2 (37:50):
Buying that I'm really neat received.
Speaker 1 (37:52):
But I do like you a lot, man, and I
appreciate your next level comments because that's the plan. So
it's a whole new level where the rhythm is the
base and the the treble. Cavino and Rich on Fox
Sports Radio. And just like that, the Brewers tied it up.
Brewers tied it up. A lot of hitting going off
to the Mess and the brew crew, and speaking of
baseball and hits, I do want to say, and it's
been brought up. You probably saw it on social media.
(38:15):
I think what Luis Ariaz has done is incredible and
such a sign of the times.
Speaker 2 (38:22):
He is the first player ever.
Speaker 1 (38:24):
To win three back to back to back batting titles
three years in a row for three different teams and
no one cares. And I think that's amazing. And why
is that the first time? Because if you were batting
champion years ago, they weren't dishing you the next year.
And if you won again, they weren't dishing you again
to another team because they'd want to keep you on
(38:46):
the team. But it's like we said earlier, these pros
ain't loyal. Nobody's loyal. Three years in a row, batting champion,
three years in a row with three different teams. I
just find that to be such an amazing stat and
no one talks about it.
Speaker 2 (39:00):
Parts of the game. The game's changed so much.
Speaker 1 (39:02):
Parts of the game change, and that's it's not just baseball.
You could say football, basketball, hockey, soccer, whatever the sport is,
what's important changes. Look at what happened to the running
back position in the NFL. That used to be like, yo,
you need RB one running back one that was gonna
make or break your team. Now a lot of teams
are like, yeah, let's running back by committee. We'll see
(39:23):
who we got and keep in mind. In the NBA
it went for evolution of sports for sure. It went
from you know, we need a big guy inside to yeah,
we need we need guys shooters, three point shot, let's go.
Speaker 2 (39:34):
So the game evolves.
Speaker 1 (39:36):
In baseball, you realized batting average means Jack Diddley do
not as much. Yeah, I mean there were only a
few guys at bat over three hundred this year. Dudes
bat on the interstate now and keep their job. You
were lucky if you kept your job batting two thirty
two forty Back in the day we won, he won
with a three fourteen average, by the way, and again,
(39:56):
but three fourteen.
Speaker 2 (39:57):
There was a guy in every team that hit three fourteen.
Speaker 1 (39:59):
And he's in seventies and nineties, three straight batting crowns
with three different teams, Miami, Minnesota and the Padres. But
what they'll say now made his history. You know what
they'll say, Now, what's his war, what's his ops? What's
his on base percentage? Well, the batting average itself. I
heard someone that works in the world of Major League baseball.
(40:19):
But the fact that something like that could even happen
and goes under the radar shows you how different the
game is.
Speaker 2 (40:26):
Someone in the world of Major League Baseball said to me,
and it stuck with.
Speaker 1 (40:29):
Me, who are you talking to? One of our buddies,
former Big league pitcher Joe Bid Who are you talking to?
I was talking to David Conge. Someone brought up the
point and we were talking about this where it used
to be, you know, get on bass draw a walk
with a small ball, A single means nothing because you
(40:49):
know what you need. You need three singles essentially to
score run. That's three hits, right, extra base hits score runs.
I know it sounds like simple math, but the idea
of like single single stolen base single, that's that's old
school baseball.
Speaker 2 (41:04):
You don't. Things don't operate that way anymore.
Speaker 1 (41:06):
Emphasis on the home run and the extra base hits
for sure.
Speaker 2 (41:09):
Yea, there's choice. Uh, Milwaukee up four to three.
Speaker 1 (41:13):
You know, it was like a chopper to Lindora short
and he couldn't go home. So hey, the Brewers, though,
it's it's early and your Mets bats are at least
hot right now, so yes, you're hitting, we'll see so yeah,
I mean, I think that stat just says so much
about the game and how much has changed. Well, and
I still being an old school sort of baseball guy,
(41:35):
I still think that's like I marvel at that this
guy won three batting champions. Well, you know it used
to you know, it used to also matter if you
want to stick to baseball. Since we're watching all the
postgame the postseason games right now. It used to matter
if a starting pitcher could go deep into a game.
Deep into a game means nothing. Okay, they go line
drive to ride field that looked like it was gonna
(41:56):
drop right.
Speaker 2 (41:56):
Both teams are stroking like Clarence Corner.
Speaker 1 (41:59):
So hey, four three As we go to the top
of the fifth in millionwalk, Mets, Brewers are close onand
Brewers up for three and they all have logos on
their helmets and it's making people med. All right, Hey,
uh on tomorrow's cavin On Rich. Let's look forward to
tomorrow midweek major spots got all the big headlines in
the world of sports and entertainment I do. And you
know what, all four of the teams that lose today
(42:20):
will be with their backs against the wall because this
wildcard series, as you know, best two out of three.
So you know, by tomorrow all these teams that fought
could be done.
Speaker 2 (42:31):
So another exciting day.
Speaker 1 (42:32):
Manyana the biggest stories in the world of sports and
pop culture will be breaking them down. And again all
your feedback at Coveno and Rich and remember to search
Covino and Rich to follow, rate and review our podcast. Guys,
we appreciate it. Thanks for being part of this. Well, Hey,
let's go mets. Enjoy your tacos mets. Thereby you and
