in peace. We have thoughts as we lose. Pete Rose.
You look up and they're doing a oh.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
Tani judge prop bets. I thought, I thought it's ironic.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
It's wild Card time and DeVante Adams is a sad
pand we got to talk about all that more plus

and Rich. Hope you had a Titans Lions sort of Monday.
Hope you're enjoying the games today. We'll go over a
lot of the baseball games and all the action going
down as we speak. But you mentioned Pete Rose, I
do got to shout out John Amos eighty four years old,
(02:21):
good times, good Times. That dude was a g and
owner and founder of McDowell's. So you know, I'm hitting
the golden arcs tonight. And dude, if you're an American
History fan, History Channel fan, I should say American Pickers.
Frank Fritz, Mike and Frank. American Pickers, one of my
favorite shows, passed away at the age of sixty. If
you ever watched American Pickers, he's the dude with the
(02:43):
beard and he had I think stomach issues a while back.
They move forward with Mike's brother and he had a
stroke about two years ago and passed away today at sixty.
So man, celebrities going down. It's been a bad week
for celebrities, everyone from John Amos to Pete Rose to
Maggie Smith. Yeah, between last week and this week, Christompersfferson,
(03:06):
I mean there's a ton of people, unfortunately, a lot
of our childhood legends.
Speaker 1 (03:11):
John Ashton, the Captain from Beverly Hills Cop That's right, yeah, yo.
Speaker 2 (03:14):
I was saying, maybe I got some good times when
you get a chance, because I want to pick the
brain of one dan Byer, Ain't you lucky we got him?
You know, the best update guy in the game. Ain't
you lucky we got him?
Speaker 1 (03:26):
dB?
Speaker 2 (03:27):
Last night You're Seahawks putting up five hundred and sixteen
total yards.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
It was the Lions defense, little sus last night?
Speaker 2 (03:35):
As a kid, say, or do the Seahawks have a
legit offense going there in the Northwest?
Speaker 4 (03:41):
I think that they're a legit offense. I think that
Gino Smith has proven his worth. And now when you
have a new offensive coordinator and Ryan Grubb now four
games in, when you look at their team, they actually
have weapons everywhere that way, kay, Yeah, whether it's Kenneth Walker,
the third Zach Scharbernell's field in for him when he's injured.
Speaker 1 (03:59):
N weapons everywhere, but you can't use them. We're all
still throw a flag on ye sorry, Wizard. Yeah, it's
they were just playing catch up.
Speaker 4 (04:08):
But with DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett and Jackson Smith
and Jigbot, they got plenty of guys to throw.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
It seems like that the whole time I'm watching, I'm like,
I'm so confused because the Lions, it felt like they
convincingly won, but Seattle threw up twenty nine points Gino
Smith three hundred and ninety five yards ball.
Speaker 1 (04:26):
It's just Dino Might. It's a high scoring game. dB.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
You called it in the beginning of the year, when
I was saying, yeah Niners, who else in that division?
You did call your Seahawks might be a little better
than people think. And the Rams certainly look like they're
struggling without wide receivers.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
Yeah, yeah, you can't count on that, you know.
Speaker 4 (04:43):
I think the Cardinals are a team that plays tough,
but they were kind of outmatched by the Commanders this
past weekend.
Speaker 1 (04:48):
So so you say we're going back to the twenty
teams where it's Niner Seahawks or what we could be.
Speaker 4 (04:53):
I think the Seahawks can get one against them. They'll
go as far as they are in the playoffs, but
I think they could they could get win this year.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
Well, as I said yesterday, the Niners just seem to
not finish strong, even when they hold on.
Speaker 1 (05:08):
Wilson Phillip style. I know your favorite song spot.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
Someday somebody's gonna make it want to turn around and
say goodbye.
Speaker 1 (05:15):
Thanks.
Speaker 2 (05:16):
I do think that the Niners need to figure it
out how to be ahead in the third quarter and
say finish him and really just step on the throat
of their opponent. They let teams hang around, and I
think if you let a team hang around, you will
you will bump into a couple of opponents to take
advantage of your lackluster finishes. It's been a lackluster. That
(05:37):
would be the Dolphins last night, oh Man Titans with
the big win over them. But again, I hope you
enjoyed your football. Some great baseball today, Like you mentioned
DeVante Adams, got to talk about him and other sad
and unhappy players. But any other thoughts on Pete Rose
to really get it going. I want to get into Pete.
But one last thought you to wrap up last night's
Monday night doubleheader. Seahawks Lions both look good. It just
(06:00):
seems like the Lions just outplayed him right a little bit,
and they were at home. They were fired up in
their new uniforms, which did look sweet. I thought, so
I thought they were cool. They you know, Jared Goff
was looking crispy. My thought about the other game not
interesting on the field. But Danny, you hit us up
with this article and I saw it on barstool and
a couple other places. Some dude in the crowd was
(06:22):
showing how Mason Rudolph was dming his girl, and he's like,
not only is this guy messing up and beating my team,
he's dming my girlfriend. It's like about a terrible night
for a Dolphins fan there in that crowd.
Speaker 1 (06:36):
You did not see this. Here's a dude, a Dolphins fan.
He's like, not only they beating me.
Speaker 2 (06:40):
He goes, look, honey, he guess his girl's and Mason
Rudolph is dming his girlfriend.
Speaker 1 (06:45):
But that's Legit seems like.
Speaker 4 (06:47):
Well this is here's the thing, and we can probably
grab the audio. By the end of the segment, Mason
Rudolph joined Doug Gottlieb on The Doug Gottlieb Show just
prior to you guys coming on and addressed the whole situation.
Speaker 2 (07:01):
So answer to this, I recogne, yes, yes, I want
the tea. Doug Gottlieb, an entertainment journalist. Now Mason had
to break it down at a head coach, tell us
what happened, give us the scoop, where.
Speaker 1 (07:16):
Are you the emin or what let us know? I
want I want the scoop on that. That's juicy, as
Rich's dad would say.
Speaker 2 (07:24):
So before we get into unhappy star players in football,
primarily Pete Rose. We said it here on the air,
we said it on our Patreon. I don't want to
take any sort of credit there, but it's just coincided
with the recent documentary that came out on HBO Max, Like,
you gotta acknowledge people when they're alive, the dudes in
(07:46):
his eighties. You got to get him in the Hall
of Fame. You got to be able to separate the
man from the athlete, the man from the artists. We
do it all the time with music and movies, but
we don't do it with Pete Rose because he gambled.
Speaker 1 (08:02):
Give me a bread with that.
Speaker 2 (08:03):
The weird part is if you go to the Hall
of Fame, his stuff's in the Hall of Fame, right,
He's just not enshrined in the hall.
Speaker 1 (08:11):
And here's what irks me.
Speaker 2 (08:13):
I get that, But you got to acknowledge him in
the sense of putting him in officially because his numbers
are ridiculous. What he did and meant for baseball is
unheard of, unprecedented. He was a player manager, he was
in the league forever. He was baseball he played hard
every game, Charlie hustle, So to hold that over his
head all those years when life had evolved within his lifetime,
(08:35):
to me was hypocritical and ironic. And when we learned
in that documentary that the Hall of Fame could have
independently done whatever they wanted aside from baseball, meaning Baseball
could have said, hey, you broke the rules and your
band for life and rules or rules and tough. The
Hall of Fame still could have said you're in the
(08:57):
Hall of Fame, but they chose not to, and they
chose to follow the Baseball's league, like the Commissioner of
Baseball had even said, Hey, we don't care if the
Hall of Fame puts them in. We just can't do
that with baseball. It's very clear in baseball you can't
bet on baseball. So I do find it to be
sort of ironic and hypocritical, and I think it's gross
(09:18):
to Ie rolling that the Hall of Fame, even through
a post on social media anoledging I was gonna say,
that was gross to me. Yeah, that's that's like when
you hate someone and then they die and you're like, yeah,
rest in peace.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
Rest in peace.
Speaker 2 (09:29):
You don't even like the guys everybody, all these dudes
that we honor till this day, guys like ty Com.
You always hear terrible things about all these dudes, but
they're in the Hall of Fame. You mean to tell
me all those dudes there were great guys. They're all
in the Hall of Fame. And you know the guys
that we admire in Hollywood, the artists we moonwalk to.
You know, we're able to separate that. But when it
(09:52):
comes to Pete Rose, no, no, no, rest in peace
to Kemiam with Tamba.
Speaker 5 (09:57):
We're not consistent with the music thing though, like R
Kelly's not on radio or TV anymore as far as
his music goes, you know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (10:04):
And so if you're if your jams are banging enough,
then we make it.
Speaker 1 (10:07):
Kind of like hell from radio. Pete Rose should be
the Michael Jackson of baseball then, because look at those
stats and good those numbers. It's insane. Second in second
place is what is Ty Cobb? And is by a lot.
Speaker 2 (10:21):
So he broke crazy records. He's the hit king. Was
he the best guy? No one's saying that, But was
he one of the greatest hitters? The greatest hitter of
all time. Probably his stats proved that, and I think
it's kind of whacked that they didn't acknowledge him when
they had the chance, when he was alive. And the
moral point that you and I came to Rich on
our Patreon this morning was you got to take these
(10:41):
life lessons and use them to your advantage. Like if
there's someone who's around and you had a falling out,
you know, piece that up before they're gone, before it's
too late. Because if they put Pete Rose in the
Hall of Fame, now, who cares he died already. If
there's someone you hadn't say I love you too, where
I miss you or I'm sorry to you, do it
now while they're here. Honor people while they're here, not
(11:03):
when they're gone. I don't I want to be careful
making this analogy because they're different people. But I feel
like as we dig in and learn more about certain
quote heroes of ours and legends, there's a lot of
people that have a great side and a dark side.
You saw that with Vince McMahon. If you watch McMahon,
(11:23):
if you watch mister McMahon, you're fired what he provided.
And you know all these old school wrestlers looked at
him like a father. Meanwhile, he was doing a lot
of bad thing. But you could separate the mogul the
businessman from the actual man and Pete Rose saying he's
a great guy saying he's a great businessman. I heard
(11:43):
Matt doc Grousso he was taking phone calls, and there's
people telling stories, and the consensus was Pete Rose was
great to the common man, like if he met fans,
blue collar guys in Philly or Cincinnati. He's also very
victim of being a generational sort of guy. I bet
you as a guys guy, people got a kick out
of him. But in today's world, as an old man,
(12:04):
he just stayed around too long and probably got in
his own way based on the things he said and
how he handled the whole gambling controversy. And you know,
there's some other suspect things about Pete Rose, But there's
a lot of people that said, like a lot of
heroes and a lot of legends, there's the good side
and the mad side, right, and if you stick around
long enough, you probably get both sides exposed.
Speaker 6 (12:25):
Right.
Speaker 1 (12:25):
For every guy that says.
Speaker 2 (12:26):
It's a tragic story, though, that that guy didn't get
what he wanted most. Look, that means the world to him.
Guys like like a rod you know, the Hall of
Fame needs everything to those Listen. I get it's a
different time, and I get there's still no gambling in baseball,
but you know how there's some dude that probably got
locked up for having a joint. And now like everyone's
smoking weed and buying gummies and edibles and oh my
(12:48):
drinks with THC and them. The way weed is just
so accepted in society, and there were people that got
locked up because they had a little bag of marijuana.
Speaker 1 (12:56):
Peter Rose did his time.
Speaker 2 (12:57):
Essentially there there's something about Pete Rose and gambling. And
then you look at a me I so this morning
and it's like, yeah, how funny the day Pete Rose dies,
all the all the gambling sites are putting up Judge
Versus Otani playoff special parlays. By the way, who do
(13:20):
you think Otani to hit more home runs than Judge?
Minus one oh five When it comes to Otani and Judge,
you combine for more eight more than eight home runs
in the postseason plus plus plus two hundred.
Speaker 1 (13:34):
That's that's a lot. But they see there's all these
prop bets and then you're like, look at us. We
live in a world. We live in a world of.
Speaker 2 (13:40):
DraftKings code see our show, you know, fandels, bet MGM,
all these different things, and it's and it must be odd.
Speaker 1 (13:47):
It's it will breat Pete Rose when it is. It's sad.
It's probably sad to us.
Speaker 2 (13:52):
It's obviously sad to his family because they all know
how much baseball meant to him. And off the air,
we were discussing in our pre show meeting that Baseball
MLB did give him his opportunities to sort of work
things out, you know, in that All Star Game in Cincinnati,
and they opened the door up a little bit, and
instead of making it right and owning up and taking accountability, Yeah,
(14:13):
he was Pete Rose and got in his own way.
I acknowledge that. But it is sad still and tragic
that this dude didn't get into the Hall of Fame
before he passed. You know, at least he got to
see the documentary though, John Madden style. He got his
documentary on HBO Max and if you haven't seen it,
it's definitely worth the watch. Was he a flawed guy, Yeah,
(14:35):
seemed that way. Was he a generationally different guy? One
hundred percent. You mix those things together. He's an old guy.
He said a lot of inappropriate things. He behaved inappropriate
in today's world, for sure, there's no question about it.
Speaker 1 (14:51):
Was he the all time hit king? And did he
give over twenty years twenty plus years to baseball? Yes?
Speaker 2 (14:57):
Now, listen, you could say everything I'm saying is not
mutually exclusive. Just because gambling is legal now doesn't mean
it was okay for him to bet, but again on himself.
Speaker 1 (15:05):
He never bet. We can't treat it.
Speaker 2 (15:07):
We treat his gambling rich like he murdered somebody.
Speaker 1 (15:10):
But bet on your as.
Speaker 5 (15:12):
Bob cost As famously said, he didn't bet on every
Reds game, So what did he know about the games
he didn't bet on. And he was the player manager
at the time, so that could change some things. About
pulling a picture or keep or putting a picture in
you normally you don't know.
Speaker 1 (15:27):
If you're always trying to win, betting on yourself is
not illegal. In my mind, if I would be like Danny,
I bet we're gonna have a great show today, I'm trying.
I'm trying.
Speaker 2 (15:35):
If I said Danny I understand bet that we have
a bad show today, and then also I just doze off.
Speaker 5 (15:40):
Yeah, and I get the culture of gambling and all
that not being fair right now as far as your
point about Otani versus Judge and the way things are
now with sponsors, but that's for the fans of the game,
not the players. We still obviously care about the integrity
of these games.
Speaker 1 (15:54):
Agreed. Agreed to Danny's point.
Speaker 4 (15:57):
What about if you're you didn't bet on them on
the night game, but you liked tomorrow because the other
team is throwing the number five starter, so you hold
back on who you put in from your bullpen.
Speaker 1 (16:07):
I guess there are little rubs and captain.
Speaker 2 (16:10):
But again that's fair. Then fine. Baseball could hold him
accountable for as long as they want. MLB could say, hey,
you're one of the greats, but your ban from baseball
for life. The Hall of Fame still had the opportunity
to say true, but we still accept you into the
Hall officially if they wanted to.
Speaker 1 (16:28):
And now we'll never get that.
Speaker 2 (16:29):
He'll never get And you know what, I'll wrap it
up by saying this, because we are going to talk
Devanta Adams NFL Wild Card games going on right now?
Speaker 1 (16:38):
Don't you dare? Whoa hall of Fame? Whoa put Pete
Rose in?
Speaker 6 (16:44):
Now?
Speaker 2 (16:45):
It's dad, It would be in the most gross taste
in my opinion, Wait till the guy dies and put
him in. No, he is forever not in the Hall
of Fame, And I hope he's remembered for this silliness
if you in two years.
Speaker 1 (16:57):
Like h've sloaded to pull Pete Rose in. Hey, dopes,
what are you doing?
Speaker 7 (17:02):
You know what?
Speaker 2 (17:03):
The silver lining to this story is years from now,
let's say one hundred years now. Maybe there's some crazy
mystique when people talk about him and they only know
him from a movie starring Ray Liota and Kevin Cosner
or something right, and they're like, ye, the whole Pete
Rose scandals, and kids remember and only know the legend
(17:23):
of how he gambled and didn't make it into the
Hall of Fame, the same way we think of shoeless
Joe Jackson and legends who never got their due because
of what they did. You know, maybe in the future
he's remembered more as a result of what happened and
his tragic career, great baseball career, tragic sort of ending.
Speaker 1 (17:40):
As far as Hall of Fame's concerned, we have secured
the Mason Rudolph audio. Deal with it what you will
if you know it now, We've got it perfect if
you want to push it.
Speaker 2 (17:49):
What was Mason Rudolph kicking it to some girl in
the stands while he was whooping the dolphins ass.
Speaker 1 (17:56):
We'll get to that.
Speaker 2 (17:57):
And coming up sad Devanta Adams is on the move
from the Raiders. We'll break that down. We got some
insight on that, and of course we got wild Card
games going on. It looks like the Tigers are about
to shut down the Astros in game one, so we'll
keep in the loop on everything going on. Mets Brewers
about to be first pitched in a few minutes, So

Speaker 1 (20:37):
Yeah, all these people were losing.
Speaker 2 (20:39):
You know who turns one hundred years all today, Former
President Jimmy Carter Onreal RA. But it's also Lie Dunn's birthday.
She's twenty two. Paul Sken's living the life. He wanted
to shout her out, you see, he surprised her in
bed this morning with cake and she posed it, of course,
weighing like a little something.
Speaker 1 (20:56):
You surprised me with that birthday announcement. You're from death
announcements to birthda announced just like that. I mean, all
these people are losing as Rich Davis's pop radio instincts
right there. Jimmy Carter one hundred years old. That's an accomplishment.
Speaker 2 (21:07):

to one second and third one out a base hit
ties the game, and historically I just pop up teams
that are trailing in the ninth by more than three
or more one and five hundred and thirty eight. Wow,
Detroit fans have to be nervous right now. This is
a big game to take from Houston. But Houston battles
(22:13):
in these situations. And the Royals, I believe, are off
to a nice start. They're up one and yeah, Baltimore.
So we'll keep you posted on the wild card games.

Speaker 2 (22:29):
We do have a few calls on Pete Rose and
John Amos and everything perfect. And by the way, I
hope this trend stays alive.
Speaker 1 (22:35):
It seems like.
Speaker 2 (22:37):
All the traveling teams are on the board first, so
that let's go Mets. Let's go Mets all the road.
Tosh I held up two outs, no tag, Ye, no tag.
That was too shallow to tag. Good move, but you
could drop. I thought it was gonna drop, but yeah,
two outs. Detroit up three to one on the Astros.
(22:57):
We'll keep you in the loop. But let's say, what's
up to Bruno and Clent Bruno, what's any thoughts on
Pete Rose, rest in peace and the Hall of.
Speaker 1 (23:04):
Fame and all that was up?
Speaker 10 (23:06):
We love you guys. Man, Hey, I just want to
say this is the adviceive as the character, as the
man was. I do believe that there's going to be
some sort of a push to get in in after
the fact, and I don't want to see it. I
thy keep him out. I don't want to see this
guy go win posthumously because it's not only not fair
to him, but to all the people that have been
(23:26):
pushing to get him in all these years. To put
him in now because they think it's the right thing
to do is completely upside down.
Speaker 2 (23:34):
I agree, let him rest in peace. No hall of fame,
it's his legacy. No hall of fame.
Speaker 1 (23:39):
Yeah, I mean.
Speaker 2 (23:41):
Again, can't state it enough. He was an imperfect guy,
got in his own way, but still belonged in the
Hall of Fame. That's how I feel about. That's my
personal feeling on Pete Rose. Growing up as an eighties
kid and just studying the back of baseball cards, thinking man,
what he did is insane.
Speaker 1 (23:55):
What's that crazy stat? Rich?
Speaker 2 (23:56):
If someone hit two hundred hits for twenty years, they
still wouldn't have that. If you got two for twenty
you'd still be shy of the amount of hits. Pete
Rose has some Major League Baseball. Oh yeah, but anybody gambled,
I know, and it was wrong at the time, but
he did his time, and he lived in a world
to see a change where they could have accepted it.
Speaker 1 (24:15):
Let me make something else clear.
Speaker 2 (24:18):
Only two players in Major League Baseball this year hit
two hundred hits, So you'd have to hit more than
two hundred a year for twenty years to catch Pete Rose.
Speaker 1 (24:27):
Imposse Blaze, Blaze.
Speaker 10 (24:29):
You know what.
Speaker 2 (24:29):
There are two strikes, two outs, bottom of the ninth.
Let's see if Detroit could finish off Houston. And then
we'll talk, said DeVante Adams. Oo h fell ball and
of course we'll talk some more wild card. And I
do want to play this Doug Gottlieb audio about Mason
Rudolph kicking it to a girl in the stand.
Speaker 1 (24:51):
So why don't we cueue that up?
Speaker 2 (24:53):
Iowa, Sam, and we'll wait one more pitch to see
if I know we can't do play by play, but
we'll wait one more pitch to see if Detroit you
could finish out game one. Because in these best of threes,
you win game one, it's a major advantage. You're like,
it's this is not like, oh, you drop game one.
It's okay, you drop game one. You can't lose again.
Speaker 1 (25:10):
Two and two? What if he watch the bases loaded
with two outs? Oh, nerve racking. That's why playoff baseball
is so great.
Speaker 2 (25:17):
You know, after we you know, hold the hold the
Gottly body a second, because I do have thoughts about
playoff baseball all over the place, having fun here on CNR.
Speaker 1 (25:29):
Do you think the pitch foul? Again? Do you think too?
While the Major League?
Speaker 2 (25:34):
While the NFL season's super exciting, while the NBA has
a cast of characters and personalities and they're very social
media driven and always in your face and a lot
of fun after you get through the one hundred and
sixty two games, fair to say that baseball postseason is
as good as any sport. I mean, I think so
you're talking to a baseball fan, Yeah, full count call
(25:56):
me old school. I'm like an eighty five year old
white guy like baseball and boxing. Baseball eighty oighty five
year old white guy caught forty year old Latino guys
by Yah, you asking a wrong, dude.
Speaker 1 (26:08):
I love baseball. He is great.
Speaker 2 (26:09):
Did you see who's in the on deck circle? Former
Dodger Jason Hayward.
Speaker 1 (26:13):
Oh, that's great.
Speaker 2 (26:16):
Hayward's on deck. It's a full count if you walk
some bases loaded again. The scores three to one, Detroit
over Houston.
Speaker 1 (26:26):
Game one.
Speaker 2 (26:26):
Yeah, so second and third, Dawn Bier right now, second
and third, full count and he walked for almost a
wild pitch.
Speaker 1 (26:35):
Jason Hayward. Jason Hayward up bases loaded, talking about you
mean the guy, the guy that the Dodger said, you'll
peace out. We don't need you.
Speaker 5 (26:43):
Well, Rich, remember what we talked about when you asked
which team do you think would get him? Or why
would you grab him for your roster? And I said,
because he's a vet, he's got that experience.
Speaker 1 (26:52):
And that's probably exactly what Michael ka' is saying right now,
and this is why they got him.
Speaker 2 (26:57):
Yeah, we can't hear any audio, but I know Michael
of the Yankees is calling this game.
Speaker 1 (27:01):
Yeah, so bass is loaded. This is for Houston. This
is fun.
Speaker 4 (27:07):
What's up, dB, I'll tell you what Michael Kay said
in the stat that you mentioned of the three plus runs,
he said that the that Jason Hayward was a member
of the Cubs team in twenty sixteen that got the
loan victory.
Speaker 7 (27:22):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (27:22):
So that's what.
Speaker 4 (27:23):
Michael Kay was saying, And that's that was since nineteen
ninety in postseason.
Speaker 1 (27:26):
Game, they just showed it again. One and what five
thirty eight?
Speaker 2 (27:29):
Yes, if you're trailing by three or more runs in
the ninth in the postseason, you can't write this man,
one and five hundred and thirty eight basses, juiced basses
are just I think the I think the fact that
it is Jason Hayward makes up for the fact that
it's the astros Ooh Like, it's almost like this a
good point.
Speaker 5 (27:47):
You're balancing it out. You're like a damn ash, I know.
I find myself charing for Hayward.
Speaker 2 (27:51):
Yeah, he was done dirty, no question, so to him
come through it would be really awesome. Detroit, such a
good story, right, I hit it. They're the they're the
sixth seed, you know, the fighting Tigers. Come on, here's
the pitch. Oh but he takes it ball won.
Speaker 4 (28:08):
I will say this because we're getting the visual and
I know, if you're likely listening to the show, you
don't have the game in front of you. The helmet, logo,
stickers of the advertising completely distracting.
Speaker 1 (28:19):
They are enormous. It is I noticed that too. It is. Yeah,
there's there's no hide to get it.
Speaker 2 (28:25):
That also added a hypocritical feeling of yeah, but Pete
Rose gambled on his team baseball, trying to cash in
any sleazy way they can give me a break.
Speaker 1 (28:35):
So yes, And there's a big strauss on the side
of his helmet and on his sleeve. OX he's on
his sleep. I thought it was going to be on
the back. Yeah, not like on the side of the
football helmet. And you know what, dB, if it's.
Speaker 2 (28:51):
A switch hitter, Wow, I'm telling you man, Look, these
are your if the pressure is getting to Detroit right now,
you got a two in one count. If it's a
switch hitter, dB, they have both sides of the helmet
for that guy, so that there's no way the ad
could be.
Speaker 4 (29:06):
Sure lost right now. They're like the Steelers. There's just
the logo on the one side.
Speaker 1 (29:12):
All right, we got and two cats.
Speaker 2 (29:13):
Well, you know what, in the meantime, I want to
go to Dan Bai for an update and we'll interrupt it.
Something happens, dB, what's going on?
Speaker 4 (29:19):
You better not interrupt me during my updates. So it
is three to one Tigers on top of the Astros.
Bottom of the ninth inning. Tigers are a strike away
from getting this game one and they oh getting out
of it. Tigers, go ahead, do you want to take it?
Speaker 3 (29:36):
No?
Speaker 1 (29:36):
Go ahead, o Jaz. They were lined out the first base,
but it was like a nice line.
Speaker 10 (29:42):
Yes, it was.
Speaker 1 (29:43):
So the Tigers survive what a scored two, could have
scored three and ended it. It looked like he got
a single there, I thought off the bat, off the bat,
I thought.
Speaker 6 (29:52):
He had it.
Speaker 4 (29:53):
Yes, But in the end the Tigers have it, winning
three to one over the Astros. Now a final in Houston.
As for what's happening in Baltimore, Royals upon nothing heading
to the seventh inning, Bobby Witt Junior doing the damage
with an RBI single in the sixth. So the Royals
right now lead the Orioles by a score off one
(30:14):
nothing heading to the seventh and the Mets and Brewers
artist underway in Milwaukee. Later on tonight, Braves and Padres
eight thirty Eastern Time, Braves leaving Chris Saale off their
wild card roster as he deals with backspasms. A bunch
of news in the NFL. It started today when the
Las Vegas Review Journal so the Raiders reached out to
other teams about their interest in DeVante Adams. ESPN came
(30:35):
out and said that the Raiders are asking for a
second round pick in more for Adam's services. The NFL
Network says Adams told the team that he does prefer
to be traded and not stay in Las Vegas. The
Cowboys are placing defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence on ir with
his foot injury. Bill's Edge rusher Von Miller suspended four
games for violating the league's personal conduct policy, stemming from
(30:55):
an incident last November. Browns defensive tackle Mike Hall Junior
suspended five games for violating the league's conduct policy. Steelers
head coach Mike Tomlins says quarterback Russell Wilson's activity will
pick up at practice this week. They've got the Cowboys
on Sunday night. In Week five, Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers
told the Pat McAfee show. He's dealing with a swollen knee,
admitting that he's a little banged up right now. They're
(31:17):
in London to face the Vikings on Sunday, and gonzeg
has officially made their commitment to join the PAC twelve
effect of July first of twenty twenty six, competing in
all sports except football. UTEP is going to be joining
the Mountain West Conference. Guys, back to you, thank you,
Damn Bayer. You know what I want to play This
audio from the Doug Gottlieb Show. He caught up with
(31:38):
Mason Rudolph and this was viral last night. There's a
dude in the crowd and during the game, he's looking
at his girlfriend's phone and he's like, yeah, not only
is this guy beating my Dolphins, he's dming my girlfriend.
And Mason Rudolf addressed this. Take a listen.
Speaker 6 (31:55):
I was responding actually to whoever the girl was few
messages my way. I believe he was a Steelers fan,
and so I was responding back. But you know, water
under the bridge. It's it was a response, and it
was about eight months ago. It was definitely not in
between second down going to third down, put a good
(32:16):
frame job, a good frame job for a little fifteen
seconds of same. I guess you know that's all. Yeah,
that's what these kids are going for.
Speaker 1 (32:22):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (32:23):
You know what if if I'm Mason Rudolph, I would
I would have been like, yeah, you know what I was.
Speaker 1 (32:27):
I was in such a zone. I was dming girls
in between downs. I'm that good bro.
Speaker 2 (32:32):
So there you go, Doug Gottlieb, Doug Gottlieb, thank you
for clearing that up with Mason Rudolf.
Speaker 1 (32:38):
You de man all right?
Speaker 2 (32:39):
Now coming up right here on Covin on Rich DeVante Adams.
You've been hearing all about him. Is DeVante Adams definitely
on the move? And if so, where where does DeVante go?
Speaker 1 (32:51):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (34:24):
I got three hits to start the game. That is awful.
Speaker 2 (34:29):
Nothing, brew You gotta take Sevy off the mound for
a minute, come to breathe. But then but the bummer
was at the first ground ball. Yeah, you could argue
as an error by Ventas at third.
Speaker 1 (34:42):
But it was hard. It was hard hard. It was
misplayed though.
Speaker 2 (34:46):
So the Brewers up one nothing early lead, three straight
hits and it's playoff baseball man wild card Taco Tuesday,
in fact, this National Taco Day.
Speaker 1 (34:59):
And that's why I'm We're my l hefe shirt. You
see this.
Speaker 2 (35:02):
He has a plethora of pignatas and tacos and a
taco too.
Speaker 1 (35:06):
He had a great three amigos reference. Why George say,
you have a plethora of talking. You see a planthada,
and we have a plethora of things to get to.
We haven't even talked about Deavante Adams. Yeah, let's let's
get to DeVante right now. He seems unhappy.
Speaker 7 (35:24):
Huh.
Speaker 2 (35:24):
I's an understatement. I mean, listen, what's with all the
poudy attitudes? Even Aaron Rodgers seemed a little poudy. He
took accountability, but I don't think him and solid are
getting along that well based on some of the body
language and things.
Speaker 1 (35:37):
He said, Well, you didn't need to.
Speaker 2 (35:40):
Be an investigator to see during the show Receiver on Netflix, Danny,
I know you were a little bit of denial of this.
You gotta be honest, because I'll give you the props
when you get it right. But it wasn't denial Rich,
it was watching the entire series. You made it seem like, yeah,
I think he's old right.
Speaker 7 (35:55):
No, no, no, no.
Speaker 5 (35:56):
What I said was he got along with Antonio Pearson.
He was one of here's his biggest supporters. That's what's changed, right,
But early on he was unhappy. Pierce may have kept
DeVante happy for a second, but it seems like that's
gone sour now.
Speaker 2 (36:08):
Yeah, exactly. He did not like Josh McDaniels, and that
was the case for a lot of players, No doubt
with that one. But he was on the k Adams
Show DeVante Adams no relation, by the way. I don't
know if Kay Adams Devanta Adams like when they do
you a little Adams family thing though that's Adams A
two d's. They talked about his relationship and everything that
(36:32):
has to do with Antonio Pierce and Devanta Adams.
Speaker 1 (36:35):
Take listen. A lot of people think you're you may
never play another down as a Raider. What would you
say that all I.
Speaker 3 (36:41):
Can control is this this talk we're having right here,
and then after we're done with this, all I can
control is the next thing that I'm nting. So I'm
gonna get up in a minute and go get a
nice workout in, and that's all I can control.
Speaker 1 (36:55):
So this big story happens where they think your coach
or the your coach. Jed, I actually don't know, likes
this post about you getting traded.
Speaker 8 (37:04):
How soon did you hear from coach?
Speaker 3 (37:05):
Yeah, I haven't heard from it. I haven't talked to him,
so I've been uh, yeah, I don't know. I don't
really know exactly what that was about. Obviously I got
you know, social media as a beast. So it's a
lot of people out there that saw it and you know,
wondering what's going on own and people reaching out and yeah,
I haven't I haven't spoke to them.
Speaker 1 (37:22):
Wow, these are social media baby games. This is where
we're at now in the NFL.
Speaker 2 (37:27):
It's like when the public where following Brittany Mahomes and
how many political Trump posts she liked.
Speaker 1 (37:37):
Oh, it must mean she's voting for Trump she liked
the post.
Speaker 7 (37:40):
What is it mean?
Speaker 1 (37:41):
I listen?
Speaker 2 (37:41):
But then again, when you're like when your wife when
you're just says to you, why are you liking this
girl's photos all the time? But you know what, can
you know a lot of times? How did you know
that you would be shocked at the lack of communication?
Speaker 1 (37:52):
This has happened.
Speaker 2 (37:52):
I've seen with friends of mine and their ex wives
and girlfriends and wives. Hey, what does your wife think?
Speaker 1 (37:57):
I don't know. I haven't talked to her. You haven't
asked her.
Speaker 2 (37:59):
The fact that there's even rumblings and him and Antonio
Pierce haven't had even a slight text message or conversation
about it at all. Doesn't that just speak volumes? No,
it does, absolutely, especially in today's world. You know, it
didn't even have to be in person or face to face.
It could have been through a text or social media DM.
You know, speaking of social media.
Speaker 1 (38:21):
So the messages you know, we good, yeah, exactly, like yeah,
does nothing?
Speaker 2 (38:26):
You know, it's so easy to communicate in today's world.
The fact that they had none, I mean, it does
speak fine. This is like a documentary where it's a
sports back in the day in the fifties or even
seventies or eighties, where it's like I tried to call them,
but they weren't home, like before.
Speaker 4 (38:40):
We explore it.
Speaker 2 (38:41):
Who seems the unhappiest. There's probably Adams Adams Aaron Rodgers
based on again his eye, rolly body language, the disconnect
that I feel and I think I've seen with him
the coach, or Travis Kelsey, who's been like the poster
boy for a sad player for the past week plus.
Speaker 1 (38:58):
Well, I'll tell you this.
Speaker 2 (39:01):
Look at DeVante Adams and hear how he spoke to
Kay Adams, very desponding, very leah whatever.
Speaker 1 (39:08):
I haven't talked to Antonio Pierce.
Speaker 2 (39:10):
All of this to me adds up to we can
make all the people that you just said happy if
you ship Devonte Adams off to the Jets. Now, some
will say wide receiver is actually not a top need
of the Jets right now. There's other issues brun in
New York. But could you deny the chemistry that Aaron
Rodgers and DeVante Adams had for years and that would
(39:31):
probably pick up in New Jersey right away? So do
you think the Raiders made deal DeVante to the Jets.
I've heard the Chiefs for the second it was the
second round pick, right, you're not going to go in division. Yeah,
I don't think the Raiders and Chiefs would be having dealing.
Speaker 10 (39:47):
No.
Speaker 5 (39:48):
I think that's the last team the Raiders would want
to send him away to. The Raiders do have youth
at that position. They have Turner and Tucker and Bowers.
Of course, you guys know, well, Jacoby Myers had a
great season last sharing a big game this past Sunday,
So maybe that's why the Raiders are suddenly open at
least to talk about moving him if the two sides
are unhappy. But just a couple of weeks ago against
(40:10):
the Ravens, Adams had a huge game in that fourth
quarter comeback. So it makes it more upsetting because after
that Ravens game, I thought, Okay, those rumors can go
to bed. Well, there's obviously deeper problems there in Vegas
with the two.
Speaker 1 (40:24):
Dude, you guys are two and two. It's not dooming.
Speaker 5 (40:27):
Uh yeah, I mean against the Panthers, they played flat
after that big Ravens win. Their O line was in tatters.
They fixed that by putting two young guys in the Powers,
Johnson Kid and DJ Glaze played really good this past
Sunday against the Brown so suddenly the Raiders had a
running game and it looked like, Okay, they're getting things
(40:48):
figured out, and now this mess happens.
Speaker 1 (40:50):
Yeah, and I get it.
Speaker 2 (40:51):
You want to have a good relationship with your head
coach too, right in all these circumstances, but you still
want to do your job and play your best. And
what I'm seeing is a little bit of a trend
of unhappy players and they're letting that trip into their
own personal performance. And I don't think that's a good
look at all. And I think you got to have
that Ricky Henderson mentality too, of you know, I'm too
(41:13):
rich to be unhappy. I'm too rich to be sad.
Like these guys are living the life you don't get
along with the coach. Hey, man, I get it. It's
not the best situation, not the best scenario for you,
but you still got to step up and stay as
positive and hungry as possible.
Speaker 1 (41:29):
The one thing that I.
Speaker 4 (41:29):
Would say, I don't think it's the worst thing for
the Raiders to do a deal if they can get
what they want for him. He's going to be thirty
two years old in December. I don't think his value
is going to go up after this season. For who
he is, you may have to worry about leverage on
who wants him, and that's where you can maybe get
your max value. But I don't see the Raiders' best
(41:50):
days with Devanta Adams on their team. I don't think
they're as close as.
Speaker 1 (41:56):
Maybe.
Speaker 4 (41:57):
I mean, being two and two is in the NFL,
as he said, half the lead is, but I wouldn't
consider them a team that's knocking on the door.
Speaker 2 (42:03):
No, I, Dan Byer, one hundred percent agree with you.
In fact, I think every week that passes DeVante Adams
value goes down. As you see these young receivers get
better and better. Davante is just starting to talk older
and older and unhappy and and Danny, I think your
team is on the They're.
Speaker 1 (42:19):
A young team, they're on the rise. The Raiders, you know,
have some things to be excited about.
Speaker 2 (42:23):
Maybe it's just not a good fit, right, Like have
you ever dated someone where you're like, Yo, she's hot,
I'm all about her, and then you just don't have
that chemistry're like yo, we have bad conversation and the
bedroom's not as fun.
Speaker 1 (42:34):
As I thought.
Speaker 2 (42:34):
That's a mutual sort of feeling, And I guess if
he's unhappy, there's what are they supposed to do about it?
Then I guess it is a pass for everybody to
just part ways.
Speaker 5 (42:42):
You know, we know him joining Derek Carr was a
big part of him coming to Vegas, and so everything
after that has been a little downhill.
Speaker 2 (42:49):
Yeah, sometimes it is amicable, all right. We got more
Covin and Rich action packed Tuesday.
Speaker 8 (42:54):
Next
