it's gonna be a lot of fun. We have lots
(00:38):
to get to. We got Rich's big TV game of
the week. We'll get you ready for the weekend. Weekend hobnobbing.
We got to talk about the game last night. Have
some thoughts on Aaron Rodgers. But how did the Jets
pull that off? I thought it was gonna be a
terrible week for the Errands, but I guess not. No,
just judge again. Covino Rich live from Seattle. It's good
to be here, and you know it's gonna be in
(00:59):
it since I've been here, and it feels very much
like Seattle right, sort of a gloomy Seattle day, like
just the image that I have of Seattle. Last time
we were here was a road trip, what like eight
years ago. It feels like it's been a minute as
a show. As a show, I know you've been here,
No way longer, way longer, yeah was it? Yeah, So
when we do our West Coast road.
Speaker 3 (01:20):
Trip that was in twenty sixteen, I believe, Oh damn,
you were right.
Speaker 1 (01:27):
Steve Camino, smartest guys. I just lives to try to
prove me wrong. I'm just having a conversation. So anyway,
that's Rich Davis. I'm Steve Cavino. Thank you, guys, Thank
you everybody for being here middle of the day to
hang out with us. We appreciate it very much. We're
gonna get you involved, give away some prizes. Danny g
has games and prizes. Give it up for DANNYGJ. Yeah, yeah, crazy, yeah, Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:52):
We're gonna talk about that because that parade, I feel
like you're missing nothing.
Speaker 1 (01:56):
I've thoughts on parades. We're gonna get to that.
Speaker 4 (01:58):
I haven't thought about tricky life hacks. There's a Bob
Costas story. We're gonna talk NFL week nine, but I
gotta tell you and I actually have to start calling
each other like teenage girls before we go somewhere.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
Yeah, because the last two times we've done an event.
Speaker 4 (02:14):
You know, you go away for one day, you pack
one thing, Yeah, you pack one thing. And we must
share a brain because we are together, what twelve hours
a day.
Speaker 1 (02:22):
I think we share the same cycle and same thoughts. Yes,
and yeah, sometimes the same clothes, apparently, because this guy
comes down from the elevator and he's wearing basically the
same sneakers. We're wearing jeans, and he's wearing a camo jacket,
and it's like, what are the chances that we're both
wearing camel? Do you think it like Seattle Green? Like
I don't know, Well, mine's great camo, Yours is green Canda,
(02:45):
black T shirt and a camo jacket. I'm like, man,
we really do have to call each other. Let me
explain to why I'm wearing this. I'm very proud of
this jacket. I don't necessarily love it, but I'm wearing
it to get my money's worth, because if you listen
to our Patreon, we're else on Patreon Monday through Thursday,
our own thing where Rich gets raw and uncensored. I
told the story about how you get these advertisements on
(03:08):
your social media right, people just hitting you up. It's
always like the same stuff, the same clothes, but people
just slap their own brand name on it, and you
don't know if it's legit or not. I ordered this
from China, probably like China five months ago, and I
thought I'd never get it, and I was about to
hit up the credit cards to be like, cancel this.
I got scammed. This showed up in the main I'm like,
(03:30):
what it's from nowhere? It looks nothing like it was
supposed to look. But I was so thrilled that I
got it. Is so cheap compared to what I thought
I was getting. And then I got this. You're gonna
be like, oh my god, what a piece of junk.
But I had to wear it because I paid like
one hundred and seventy and by the way, only one
(03:51):
of two items. Yeah, one hundred and seventy five bucks
for that. No, no, no, no, this was one of two.
I'm wondering if I'm still gonna get the other item.
But you know, you get something new, you wear it
to an event. We're here at the Graduate Hotels and
by the way, I gotta say they're not joking when
they say each one is unique, because this one is
so cool here in Seattle's got such a vibe to it.
(04:12):
There's a fireplace over there. We were in front of
a live studio audience. So thank you again, guys, Thanks
Graduate Hotels for having us.
Speaker 4 (04:19):
But now when you talk about getting that on social media,
I mean we've talked about buying things off of like
Instagram or TikTok ads.
Speaker 1 (04:26):
We've such cheap material.
Speaker 4 (04:27):
We've all been scammed, and I'm so tempted to buy something.
Speaker 1 (04:31):
I keep saying.
Speaker 4 (04:32):
Am I the only one that keeps getting these foot
massage or ads where it's like like someone's on a
couch and they.
Speaker 1 (04:38):
Got their feet in this like cool apparatus works with
your algorithm. You're the guy going getting weird massages all
the time. Not weird massages, say weird. I don't mean
like X rated weird, meaning he goes to the mall
and he gets massages, like he goes to tickle my tutsies,
like once a week, once a week, tender tutsies. I'm sorry,
once a week. So of course you're going to get
(04:59):
those ads. I kept getting these stupid shirt ads. I'm like,
you know what, I'm gonna get one. I think that's
oddly how people shop now.
Speaker 4 (05:05):
You did that with jerseys, yeah, back in the day,
Back in the day, but like, uh, that was a
long time ago.
Speaker 1 (05:10):
I'll tell you how long ago was.
Speaker 4 (05:12):
I got a Vernon Davis jersey for the forty nine
ers and it was like twelve dollars.
Speaker 1 (05:16):
From Kaepernick and a Kaepernick one two. Yeah, that was
all if you take your chances nowadays, I didn't think
I'd ever get this one. I got it, so I'm
wearing it. And Rich had something similar on he had
to change. But but that's I mean, it's not just us.
So what happens in that scenario, Just to put a
little bowl out of the game.
Speaker 4 (05:35):
You go to the bar, you meet your friend for dinner,
and you guys are like wearing the same thing.
Speaker 1 (05:40):
Does some guy have to go change? You just point
you yeah, no, whatever, it doesn't matter, you know. I
know women get real mad about things like that, but
we got to be better. We got to be better later. Sorry,
What I do want anyone.
Speaker 4 (05:51):
Ever seeing that that prank on social media where all
the women buy their boyfriends and husbands the same shirt
and they all show up to one event and every
dufe is guy. It's like twenty guys wearing the same shirt.
You gotta look at it this way.
Speaker 1 (06:03):
With men, I think there's just less options. Men they'll
take that many fashion risks. So of course we're gonna
be wearing the same Jordan's or the same looking boots
or the same sort of overshirt nowadays, you know. But
we're happy to be here. We made it to Seattle.
We got here early this morning. We left at like
five something am from LA to get here to hang
(06:24):
out with you guys, not only to do a live broadcast,
but also to hang out. We're gonna hang out. And
believe me, I need a drink. I need to hang out.
The street is staring at me. So hey, cheers, everybody cheers.
Let's get the weirdest started. Jesse. Jesse got me cheers.
Thank god, man, I appreciate it. Some old faces. When
I say old man, you guys like, oh, not just kidding.
(06:47):
Some familiar faces. And it's great to see you guys.
But let's get into it. Last night, man, Thursday night football.
I don't know how the Jets won. You said it before,
we all said it all week. How is it two
and sixteen gonna beat a six two teams, especially when
that two and six team is the Jets, the underwhelming,
underproducing Aaron Rodgers Jets. I just didn't see that happening.
(07:08):
But somehow Vegas knew, somehow, some way they were favored, and.
Speaker 4 (07:13):
We talked about it yesterday. What Vegas is never wrong
like this? In fact, you know, we call new Brandon.
Speaker 1 (07:19):
One of the editors at Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 4 (07:21):
Yeah, he's like, the Jets are gonna win, by the way,
But you love new Brandon.
Speaker 1 (07:27):
It's a good gut. Every time I'm like, where's Rich,
him and Brandon are are chest pumping in the hallway.
So that's what it is. He's a right like that commonality.
Speaker 3 (07:36):
Yeah, he's one of the only other Niner fans in
the building.
Speaker 1 (07:38):
Yeah, and he likes baseball too. He's a good dude.
It's a it's a great way to, as my dad
would say, kiss a mass or get on someone's good side.
You find that common ground. New Brandon's new guy at
Fox Sports Radio. He's a great dude. But him and
Rich are always yapping it up about the forty nine ers.
Speaker 4 (07:54):
Well, he was saying that ninety of the bets coming
in were for the Texans, So it's like you felt that.
It's like if ninety percent of the bets are coming in,
Vegas knows something. This is a big night for books
to make money.
Speaker 1 (08:06):
What did they know that Daron Rodgers is due or
did they buy into that fountain of youth story that
I'm going to talk about in a few minutes, Cause
it looks like maybe he had a little something. You
had Garrett Wilson stepping up. He had two one handed grabs.
That one catch is a highlight. I think we're going
to see for years. I think that's like Odell Beckham
junior level catch.
Speaker 3 (08:26):
No sure, I saw memes made out.
Speaker 1 (08:29):
Of it already. Yeah, honestly, what put OBJ on the
map I think really solidifies Garrett Wilson here as like
one of the catches. He's the guy that will never
forget like that's that was a great catch.
Speaker 4 (08:43):
But there was one play last night that we've seen before,
not the first time.
Speaker 1 (08:47):
We set it in college. We sit in the NFL.
Speaker 4 (08:49):
What is it with guys when they're about across the
goal line dropping the football? But you know, someone asked
me this show bo and I think the answered truly
is they're trying to look cool? Yeah, yeah, yeah, there's
no other answer. It's not like, you know, he crossed
the goal on and you know he was pumped up.
It is a simple goal lines there, I beat my guy.
(09:11):
I feel so covered. I drop the ball and these
guys do it's so cavalierly.
Speaker 1 (09:16):
You're putting some flair on it, right, but like, but
that's what Aaron Judge was trying to do and he
dropped the ball. Yeah, maybe it didn't work the same way.
But there's just such a sense of it's really just
to look cool.
Speaker 4 (09:29):
So is there a punishment if you, like, if you're
if you're the head coach of the Jets or any
team for that matter, where your guy.
Speaker 1 (09:35):
This is not a regular fumble, This is not a y.
Speaker 4 (09:38):
Know, I you know, I was trying to bust through
the wae of scrimmage and some guy punched it out.
Speaker 1 (09:42):
I was trying to look cool so much so that
I was like trying, Yeah, that's worthy of a fine,
you know, discipline, You run the tape back, you embarrass
him a little bit. Make sure they never do that again,
just like what happened to the Bears last week. Like,
you know, that's worthy of a fine, it's worthy of
an embarrassment, of a punishment of something, you know, like,
can't make those mistakes in the NFL, Dude, that's embarrassing.
(10:03):
Oh I saw a meme. It was that defender on
the Bears.
Speaker 4 (10:07):
It said Yankees and it was then the Commanders were
fifth inning. Ah, horrible, so many means I know, but hey,
last night, somehow what the Jets have done now though,
well they've they've now gone from two and six to
three and six and they beat a good Texans team,
(10:27):
a Texas team that was hurt, but still.
Speaker 1 (10:28):
You would have thought they would have won. But now,
what does that do?
Speaker 4 (10:31):
Does that give Jets fans this odd hope of like,
all right, that's like because Aaron Rodgers did say he
found the Fountain of Youth and it's on. So is
that now game one of the Jets are gonna go
on around? Or is that just such a bunk story
that you can't even buy into that?
Speaker 1 (10:44):
A little matter of Danny g correct us if we're wrong. Anybody,
you know, Hey, live studio audience, step on up. Yeah,
it's the Jets gotta win. It's like you playing blackjack.
Eventually Black's gonna hit, Like the Jets gotta win something.
Speaker 3 (10:59):
What did I tell you of when we were getting
on the Alaska flight this morning and you were talking
about the Jets game. I said, it just felt like
they were due.
Speaker 1 (11:06):
Yeah, exactly, like they got them. That's a Vegas sentiment,
like heys for the Texans, but hey, Jets are favorite,
their due.
Speaker 3 (11:15):
But that's what it felt like.
Speaker 4 (11:16):
Though, Well take it, you know, not to be nerdy
about the Jets, but they're three and six and I
want to punch myself or even buying into this thought.
Speaker 1 (11:24):
Now we're in front of a live studio audience. Let
someone else punch you someone else, Yeah, I believe, punch
them in the face. Yeah, hey, emmy your price.
Speaker 4 (11:36):
I'm mad of myself for even buying into this. But
the whole narrative was the Jets would have to go
eight and one to be ten and seven, big dreaming,
and that's like big yeah, as young kids say, big Dreamer,
Brook dreaming.
Speaker 1 (11:47):
Toilet one. They're the Skibby negative one thousand riz so stick.
I don't care if they beat the Texans or not.
I'm never buying into the Jets, so just hear me
out though. The next five games. Okay, all right, all right,
I like this, this is fun, all right, you adult,
you'll don't play long adun't just stupid. Okay, okay, next
(12:07):
five games. Cardinals, Okay, possible. Cardinals are frond the sneaky
ways to win, but they're not great. No Colts who
don't know what their quarterbacks are. Okay, so maybe they
get two wins. So where are we at now? Five
and six? Yeah? Okay, Seahawks, but they have to go
to New York. No, no, yeah, I mean you have
(12:30):
to like the Seahawks are four and four, you're act
to like they're great. Four and four. Gino Smith, I
think he leads the league in passing. He's still solid.
I beat them by himself. Dolphins, Yeah they get that one. Jags,
I think they get that one. So now you're buying it.
So yeah, I guess you know it's possible. And Aaron Yeah, improbable,
(12:52):
but not impossible. Rogers had two hundred and eleven yards yesterday,
three tuddies and C. J. Stroud one hundred ninety one yards,
zero tuddies. Somehow Vegas knew and that's the mystery. Or
Vegas was buying into what we said, They're just due
or Vegas really brought into this stupid story of Aaron
Rodgers found the Fountain of Youth. I think that starts
(13:14):
with a little just for men and getting that gray
out of his beard. No play for mister Gray makes
a book sophistic. Yeah, that's my secret, guys, And I
don't know if anyone cares, but let's.
Speaker 4 (13:23):
Let's go back to the studio because we got Jay
stew and I were Sam. Any thoughts first of all
on Melachi Corley dropping the ball because I know you
say you have audio of Kirk Kurbstreet talking about I
was Sam.
Speaker 5 (13:37):
We just talked about this on the Doug Gottlieb Show.
Speaker 1 (13:40):
Guys.
Speaker 5 (13:41):
I want to know what the reason is. And I
think you speculated on it. Rich. I think it's because
he wants to look cool. God Gottliebe thinks that it
was accidental like that that he got so wrapped up
in the moment that it just fell out. But this
happens too often. But the problem with this is no
one's ever I ask these guys, why do you do this?
(14:02):
I need to know why, as stupid as it might sound.
Speaker 1 (14:04):
Then quote quote me and I'll back up Rich when
Rich and I agree, it's fact. We live in a
highlight culture and an Instagram culture and a TikTok world
where people want that moment and they want it to
go viral, and that's what they're thinking. They're like, this
is for the gram. Everything is done for the GRAM.
I beat my guys, stupid things. You're doing it for
the GRAM.
Speaker 4 (14:23):
I look at it as I beat my guy, I
beat the secondary.
Speaker 1 (14:26):
Ta da. That's what I think, Jase, Do I really do?
I think these guys subconsciously, like not even consciously, just subconsciously,
are just such hot dogs by nature, such look at
me guys, such flashy dudes that they they know that
this is gonna be seen over and over again on
highlights and social media, and just naturally that's just their instinct.
Speaker 4 (14:48):
It's the equivalent of how it used to be a
few guys here and now.
Speaker 1 (14:52):
It used to be a few guys here and there.
Speaker 4 (14:54):
If you watch the baseball playoffs, which were fantastic, right
every home run came with a ridiculous bat flip and
a walk.
Speaker 1 (15:01):
It used to be no offense, that goofy hip flex
that Dodgers were doing. You're just jealousy. You can't. I
don't like it. Yeah, but no, think about it.
Speaker 4 (15:08):
It used to be because we used to say Joey Battista,
and you know, some of these guys were known for it.
Now every home run hit is a bat flip. They
stare at it, they walk, which is fine.
Speaker 1 (15:20):
I love flair and flash, and that's fun for the fans,
but not at the detriment of the team, and not
when you're gonna cost the team. Not when you're making
a bozo of yourself, you know. So I'm all for it,
but not when this happenst had some thoughts, what's up, Chris?
Speaker 6 (15:34):
Hey, guys, I'm I too, am like baffled, but that
this keeps happening. I don't know if it's for a highlight,
because I feel like there's gotta be like eighteen different
better ways to celebrate. And I don't think dropping it
near the goal line is anything anyone's ever going to
remember on a on a highlight. But I mean, it
just feels it just feels like this keeps happening, right,
(15:56):
This is the DeShawn Jackson thing.
Speaker 1 (15:58):
Like, all right, picture this right, Yeah, someone's shooting a
three and they think they got it. They turn around.
It's for the look of it. If you're bowling, you know,
I grew up bowling, right, you know, right, But if
you know it's hitting the pocket and you're you not
necessarily turn around. Yes, it's just for the flash and
(16:24):
the flare of it. So when you're crossing the end
zone there and you're like, that's just part of the Like,
I'm such the man.
Speaker 5 (16:31):
Yeah, I can see that. I just wonder why not
every wide receiver coach out there has to drill in
these guys. I just don't know why this keeps having
because every wide receiver out there coach has to be like, hey, guys,
hold on to it before you well across the goal line.
Every last one has to say that.
Speaker 1 (16:48):
It's man, it's the NFL equivalent of the mic drop.
And I don't think you know there's intent of this.
It's just you're just so in that moment of looking
cool that that that's what happened. It's uh. Jay Stu
brought up a great point.
Speaker 4 (17:03):
No one's ever asked him like it's an embarrassing thing,
but you're right, we're like, I haven't heard any feedback
of Malachai Corley.
Speaker 1 (17:10):
Hey, dude, great run. Why why did you drop the ball?
Speaker 5 (17:14):
No, in fact he was he was made unavailable for
an interview last night. But I would love just one question,
why do you do that? And I brought up the
exact example Kovino, like when I got when a basketball
player lets the ball loose and then turns around and
runs down the other court. I guess the way the
analogy here is when the ball bounces off the rebound,
(17:36):
it comes back towards the shooter. If he would have
followed up the shot, he could have got the rebound.
That's kind of what this is.
Speaker 1 (17:42):
Just that's called that's fundamentals, and people put flash before
fundamentals sometimes and it works against him. He just feels,
and let's be real, showmanship is part of it, and
that's what gets fans excited. So we can't really hate
on it too much. We can't say we need more
flash and fun things. They get mad when it happens.
It's just you got to prioritize fundamentals.
Speaker 4 (18:02):
Things have happened before our very eyes over the last
couple of years, and we love it all.
Speaker 1 (18:06):
I guess said.
Speaker 4 (18:07):
The bathlips another thing that was not all the time,
anytime there's a turnover in the NFL.
Speaker 1 (18:12):
Now what happens.
Speaker 4 (18:14):
Every defensive member runs to the end zone and they
do like like a pose like a school picture, like
a group of Oh yeah, that wasn't have you rewond
five ten years they weren't doing.
Speaker 1 (18:23):
That, No, not at all. So those are for the highlights,
for the highlights, highlights for kids.
Speaker 4 (18:28):
So hit and pick your thoughts. Goofis and Gallon.
Speaker 1 (18:32):
We will bring you live here from Seattle eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox. If you want to chime in,
the most interactive show on radio, the most inclusive show
on radio, according to us Covino and rich Or. Hit
us up at Covino and rich at Fox Sports Radio
again live from Graduate Hotels. The other side story and
maybe the real reason the Jets had the mojo yesterday
(18:53):
was this fountain of youth. Aaron Rodgers is the Ponce
dalle oone of the NFL. Now, I guess him and
punter Thomas Morstet. Apparently we're thriving on cayenne pepper and
water like this water mixture, and I'm wondering if you're
buying into that too. I'm serious because they even post
(19:15):
coction like we told you you know, this is it.
This is their go Go juice, right, this is their
They're ron Ron juice, is their ron Ron juice. This
is where it's at right now. So my second question,
aside from you know, the football, Mike drop and all
these antics we saw last night, how do you think
they won? Is have you ever seen a celebrity endorsement
(19:36):
or just like a TV twelve sort of mentality that
you said, you know what, if it's working for them,
I'm gonna try it. I want to know if you're
down with cayenne pepper and water now just because Aaron
Rodgers says it's to go to I have a couple.
Speaker 4 (19:49):
Examples of where I've seen someone do something and they're like,
or maybe I want to try it. Yeah, it's embarrassing,
we're you're following someone else's lead. But that's sort of
what the whole endorsement world is based on.
Speaker 1 (19:57):
It could be just a random celebrity entertainer. It could
be anything or anyone that actually sold you because you
trust that guy, like and that's why they picked certain
people to endorse products. Obviously. Have you ever wondered why
Dennis Haysbert are you in good hands was the guy
for All State. We asked him, so we asked the
good questions. We do ask you as a reason why
(20:20):
you know saved?
Speaker 4 (20:21):
Saved, and I'll tell you who has inspired me in
an embarrassing ry.
Speaker 7 (20:25):

who I see Steven, I see Danny.
Speaker 1 (21:58):
I was more of a pinwheel kind of a kid
growing up, but I digest I Uh.
Speaker 4 (22:03):
I want to get back to this conversation. We got
phone calls. We're live from Seattle Graduate Hotel. We're talking about, uh,
whether or not you've been influenced by an athlete and
ed you see on social media? Have you seen someone
do something where you're like, you know, maybe I should.
And I'll be honest. As we all get older, it's
no denying. We're not twenty years old anymore. Speak for yourself. Broule,
(22:24):
get a couple aches and pains here and there, and
I always think about how I used to never stretch,
and every so often now going to the gym playing sports,
I'm like, oh my need my leg And I think
of guys like each Hero and Tom Brady and all
these guys that have longevity, and what do you always
see them doing?
Speaker 1 (22:43):
Like stretching and doing and always stretching her wrists out,
and yeah, especially.
Speaker 4 (22:48):
Every time I go to the gym now, I do
a little stretching because I'm like, you know, I guess
that's how each you and Tom Brady and guys like
that are playing pro sports and they and they last.
Speaker 1 (22:57):
I learned from the best for sure. I mean, there's
a reason why they're great and the reason we bring
this up. And we'll go to the phones and we'll
pass the mic around eight seven, seven ninety nine one
Fox at Covino and Rich Aaron Rodgers, who got the
win last night somehow over the Texans twenty one to thirteen.
Aaron Rodgers and Thomas Morristad posed with their quote unquote
(23:18):
Fountain of Youth, which is basically water and cayenne pepper,
And wasn't there some weird mixture with lemon that Robin
Quivers took and she lost all this weight. Right, dude, everyone,
I know what.
Speaker 4 (23:30):
I've tried a lemon tree on the side of my
house and I was like, all these lemons are going
to waste. I tried to be like, maybe I'll have
warm lemon water every morning, and I felt no difference,
you know. But you know, let's let's start with Stefan
Stefan Arkel in Ohio. You're on with Covino on retro's up.
Speaker 1 (23:45):
Man, Hey, Boddy, hey buddy.
Speaker 8 (23:47):
Hey. First off, my uncle Ben trying to get me
to move out to Seattle for a number of years
because y'all progressed it well nice out here.
Speaker 1 (23:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (23:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (23:57):
My thing is this, this is where comes from, and
you gotta you gotta understand where I'm coming from. Back
in the nineties, the late ninety two thousand, the living
on the edge doing pranks that risk your life, that
was real popular. Those guys are growing up watching it,
(24:18):
and then they started running the risk with football, living
on the edge, touchdown or not, trying to style in profile,
living on the edge, and it has moved forward in football,
and then I'm here in Ohio, Chado. I mean, I
think though.
Speaker 4 (24:35):
I mean, he's a tribute to get to guys, who's
trying to be risky? Is that weather dropping football's of
the goal line? He's going back to the old, the
old thought. I thought he was courting Arrowsmith the whole time.
I don't know what was going on.
Speaker 1 (24:46):
But I appreciate it. Yeah, all right, so yeah, it
makes sense. You're just trying to be risky, live on
the edge, stand out a little bit again. Flash and
Flare something we were talking about before. Who else do
we got? We got Kevin in Oregon? What's up? K Kevin?
Speaker 9 (25:00):
Hey there, how you doing, guys?
Speaker 10 (25:02):
What's up?
Speaker 9 (25:04):
Appreciate your show. I like listening to it on the
way home from work every day, just on the Flash
and Flair. I'm even older, I go back further. I'm
big Red Machine Miami Dolphins, you know, seventies kind of
hard work and whatnot. I think that the fumble last
night will be a much bigger deal if the Jets
(25:25):
is lost by less than six, right, I think that
would have been a much bigger deal, and we're not
making as big a deal of it. But but I
think fans they as much as they'd like the Flash,
they'd like to touchdown and just score more than the flash.
So that's mine.
Speaker 1 (25:39):
It's also generational, yeah, although I agree with you completely.
I think a lot of older school guys just care
about fundamentals. Young kids want the flash younger. It's generational
as well. Thanks for the call, man, we appreciate it.
So we're now transitioning to again this celebrity superstar athlete
endorsement thing. Aaron Rodgers found the fountain of youth, his
(26:03):
ron Ron juice, his go go juice, whatever you want
to call it. Now, it did plant some seed in
me where I'm like, well, maybe I'll give it a try.
Can't please do it right?
Speaker 10 (26:14):
Right?
Speaker 1 (26:14):
Why not? But I did leave you on a little
bit of a cliffhanger, absolutely Rocky Bauboa style cliffhanger. Absolutely,
I left you a cliffhanger. And I said, all, there's
a reason that certain celebrities and athletes get these endorsements,
and ninety nine percent of the time is because they're trustworthy.
And I remember Dennis Haysbert was on our show. Who's
(26:35):
a lot of people don't realize this Pedro Serrano from
Major League. You know it's the same guy, right, what
was he the president twenty four spot. Yeah, so the
president on twenty four was Pedro Somurano, who was a
Dominican ballplayer, fictional ballplayer in Major League. Most people don't
realize it's the same guy.
Speaker 4 (26:52):
You don't think no, But then again, I was the
guy that didn't realize.
Speaker 1 (26:56):
Jenny from Forrest Gump was on House of Cards.
Speaker 4 (26:59):
Yeah, everybody knows that sometimes you don't connect the dots.
Speaker 1 (27:02):
I get it. So we eat them on our show
and we asked them, man, how do you get that
All State thing? Are you in good hands? Because he
was raking in the dough with that, And it turns
out because he was the president on twenty four after
all these research studies, Americans found him to be extra trustworthy.
So whatever he said, they bought into and they bought
(27:25):
into All State as a result. So, for whatever reason,
certain people are a little more trustworthy than others. You
buy into these people and that's how they get these deals.
Do you trust Aaron Rodgers after that performance on trying
his cayenne pepper water thing. You know, sometimes you got
to ask yourself is it an endorsement or something that
they're just saying, Oh this works for me, Like I'm
(27:46):
not buying sketches because Joe Montana. Did you know some
people do? Man? Look, my dad watches enough Fox News.
I guess where you ask him? Hey, man, he's buying
Sean Hannity jeans. He wears Sean Hannity jeans, sneakers and
go lo like that, looking good man? You lost some weight?
Yeah taking go Lo. You never saw that. I don't
(28:07):
even know what that is. I don't know either, But
every time I'm at their house, I see their commercials.
I mean, what is that a my pillow? Because that's
all these day buy whatever they seek. They trust Mike
Lindell and his patented fill of pillows? What are you
wearing my slippers? Like? You know? Because they see these
things all the time. So people get suckered in and
they buy into that every once in a while. So
(28:29):
what was that for you? Is what we're asking here?
Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox they went two
more in a row.
Speaker 4 (28:35):
I'll start investigatingne Pepper Maxture of Youth was the story again,
and even posed with it. Yes, I feel like the
trend today is me bringing up dumb things I see
on social media. But I mean, isn't that the trend
every day, But I just feel like there's things I see, Yeah,
and I do want to pull the trigger and be like, oh,
(28:56):
should I try that? Has anyone else seen that? They
you put your feet in, not the massager, but it
like sucks out feet. It sucks out all the toxic feet.
You got feet issues?
Speaker 1 (29:06):
Maybe maybe I got it? Why don't have so many
feet in? You've never seen that?
Speaker 3 (29:12):
Where I don't know.
Speaker 1 (29:12):
I don't want to see your search history.
Speaker 4 (29:14):
You see, Yes, guy's got a foot fetish, Hey your
thoughts At eight, seven, seven, nine to nine on Fox. Hey,
let's we're gonna talk week nine of the NFL. We're
gonna play game. We're gonna get you guys involved here,
but let's go to prefet for an update.
Speaker 1 (29:27):
What's up? Chris hey cao?
Speaker 6 (29:28):
Hey Rich?
Speaker 1 (29:29):
Uh?
Speaker 6 (29:30):
Yeah, catching you up on some NFL Hey, getting you
cut up on some injuries since you're in Seattle. DK
Metcalf is going to miss Sunday's game against the Los
Angeles Rams because of a spring mcl However, Rams wide
receiver Pukinakua is questionable to play. Lamar Jackson says he
is one hundred percent to start on Sunday, he does
not bear an injury designation, even though he's been juggling
(29:52):
back in knee issues through the week, and Packers head
coach Matt Lafleur says quarterback Jordan Love is questionable to
play for Sunday's NFC bout against the Detroit Lions. He's
questionable with a groin injury. We wait to see if
it will be him or Malik Willis. In the SEC
and College Commissioner Greg Sankey has notified all members of
the conference to stop faking injuries during football games. Sankee
(30:16):
said schools we find for feigning injuries of violating the
policy once or twice, with the head coach being suspended
for one game if there is a third violation, so
the laws coming down there. In the NBA, the Pelicans
will be without CJ. McCollum and Herb Jones for at
least two weeks because of injuries. McCollum himself is dealing
with a right abductor strain and for the fifth straight game,
(30:38):
Joel Embiid and Paul Georges will not play on Saturday
versus the Memphis Grizzlies. Joel Embiid got in it with
seventy six ers reporters on Friday. Let's take a sample
of that.
Speaker 10 (30:51):
I've been way too much. I've done way too much
for this city, putting myself out with for people to
be saying I saw I do think I like that dude,
he's not here, Markers, whatever his name is. I've done
way too much for this city to be treated like this,
So don't wait way too But like I said, I wish.
Speaker 1 (31:13):
I was lucky.
Speaker 10 (31:14):
I don't want my dad doesn't mean that doing whatever
he takes be out there, which I'm going to be
here pretty soon.
Speaker 6 (31:20):
I'm sure that's going to go over very well in
the City of Brotherly Love. Back to you guys, Yes, yeah,
thanks chrisy.
Speaker 1 (31:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (31:26):
You brought up faking injuries in college sports and they're,
you know, they're going to crack down on that. Do
you feel like it's easy to do? And how could
you really call someone.
Speaker 1 (31:36):
Out on it?
Speaker 4 (31:37):
We talked about it earlier this week when Anthony Richardson
on the Colts took himself out of the game because
he was tired, and we're like, why didn't he just.
Speaker 1 (31:43):
Like you know's teaking injury, Like why started?
Speaker 4 (31:46):
Why didn't he just do a little like, oh ho,
I need one play and like hold his hamstring or
something like oul pulling a Bobby the brain heen in
is what it's called where the neck brace cowboy Bob
Barton were cast for ten years.
Speaker 1 (31:59):
You guys, we use that reference a lot. Does everybody
remember Bobby the brain heening with his neck brace. He
was a wrestling manager and he wore that for years.
That's so funny to be but think about it, like,
how can you really enforce that? I don't know, wide
receiver catches a ball, goes down to a knee, Yeah,
(32:20):
and then what are they gonna be like you're faking it?
Like it seems sort of like a BS thing to
try to enforce. I mean it's sports, so you could
get away with it. You ever take an injury when
wasn't injury? Get away with it and other professions, But you.
Speaker 4 (32:36):
Ever fake an injury with like a girlfriend or some
of your dating, like she accidentally needs you when you're
like horsing around and wrestling.
Speaker 1 (32:43):
You're like, you play it up. No, yeah, I think
every guy has done that. Yeah, Like it's all fun
and games until you pretend to get hitting and junk
and then you use that for sympathy love daddy you Okay,
I think, oh my god, what can I do? I'm
(33:05):
so sorry.
Speaker 4 (33:06):
Yeah, I know that one, just saying it's hard to enforce.
Thank you prophet. All right, now coming up, there's a
few things I want to get to. Danny J answer
me this, and then we'll come back and talk to
everyone about this. Today's the Dodgers parade. Deep down inside,
you feel like you're missing anything.
Speaker 1 (33:23):
No.
Speaker 3 (33:24):
I watched it a little bit of it on my phone,
so I felt like I was there in spirit.
Speaker 4 (33:31):
I just feel like there's something so I get the
fun of it. I don't want to be a you
know me, I'm not a party pooper. I'm down for
a fun time no matter what. By the way, major
turnout over two.
Speaker 1 (33:40):
Millions, I know.
Speaker 4 (33:41):
I just feel like nothing good happens in parades, and
then it's just an odd sense of like I'm gonna
stand around just to get a glimpse when they pass.
Speaker 1 (33:49):
It feels like a weany thing to do.
Speaker 3 (33:50):
You know what I would argue back on that a
little bit, rich is you always talk about core of moments,
especially with your kids, and I went to a Laker
Championship parade and it's something I'll always remember.
Speaker 1 (34:03):
Yeah, but it wasn't your favorite the one at Disneyland.
I do love the DISNEYLFE parade. It is great. Makes
me cry every so you can't hate it out praise
and be like, yeah, but that one because I see
to look on my kid's face and it's magical.
Speaker 4 (34:15):
I got a funny story about Cavino on a float
in a parade that he had no business being in.
Speaker 1 (34:20):
So we'll get to that and more.
Speaker 4 (34:22):
Your thoughts on the sports parades? Is it worth taking
a day off of work? Do you want to be
part of that? And I thought about the Yankees Dodgers.
One final thought in the World Series before we totally
turned the page of football and basketball. We'll do that
next right here, Covin on Rich live from Seattle Graduate Hotel,
doing it live more next.
Speaker 1 (34:44):
So one of the best feelings in sports is that
electric buzz of gain day all you and when you
look with that same vibe, you have to check out Graduate.
Speaker 4 (34:53):
Okay, we're here Graduate Hotels, A state graduate's like stepping
on the field in those call in those college towns.
Speaker 1 (34:59):
No doubt.
Speaker 4 (35:00):
We are here live as we speak Seattle, Washington, forty
five seven, Brooklyn, av Come swing by, say what'sab have
a drink, hang out with the show, getting pumped up
for Huskies Trojans tomorrow. And don't forget the new Auburn location.

Speaker 1 (35:19):

Speaker 4 (35:39):
Book your state today at Graduate by Hilton dot com
Graduate Hotels.
Speaker 1 (35:43):
Because at Graduate we're all students. We are Cavino.
Speaker 11 (35:47):
Enrich live from Seattle Graduate Hotels, entire rack dot com studio.
It's always a pleasure to be at Graduate. I look
forward to this so much. Guys, So thank you again
everybody showing up. Appreciate it. John showed up. Good to
see you.
Speaker 1 (36:02):
John, Jesse, thanks for the drinks. Appreciate everyone being here.
And again after the show we're partying, so hopefully you
get to hang out a little bit drinks on rich
So no worries. Now we're getting ready for Richard's big
TV game of the week. But Iowa, Sam, I got Seattle,
and you play the song that changed my life for
a good ten years. Seriously, you're playing in Bloom For
(36:24):
most people, pit traumatic change, no change your life. You're
playing some Nirvana. Okay, a lot of people. It smells
like teen Spirit. It wasn't that one for me. It
was this one. It was in Bloom Nirvana, and that
was it. I was. I was doing the running man
to boys to men. I was like an R and
B kid. I heard this song, I went right back
to rock and it changed my life. I built a
(36:46):
career in rock radio and now we do sports on
Fox Sports Radio. But still this song was the soundtrack
to so many years of my life. And then to
be here in Seattle, it's just it's just really cool
to see where that music came from. So thank you
guys for hanging out with us. Funny cry about it,
Hey man, I have passion. I like It's like, I
don't listen to the bare naked ladies like you, bro,
(37:07):
That's what I love. Rich has claimers on repeat. It's
fair he has the best of Chumble Wamba on his mix.
Well this is fair. You do have better musical taste.
I'm joking. But we are going to get to uh
parades a little bit.
Speaker 4 (37:21):
And there's a really funny story about Cavino that has
to do with parades and just in general, Like it
sounds ridiculous, but parades are one of those things that
you can even look at, is like what a fun
time or they're the lamest thing in the world.
Speaker 1 (37:33):
Did your mom used to read the parade when it
was in USA? Today? Right? Parade? Right, the parade. But
right now we've got to go over our big TV
game of the week. Let's do it.
Speaker 5 (37:48):
You should hear I got nextra.
Speaker 1 (37:50):
TV the game game that I will have Riches big
TV game of the week.
Speaker 7 (37:56):
It's Rich's Big TV Game of the week.
Speaker 1 (38:01):
Oh, there's a lot of games every Sunday, but only
one deserves the big screen. But you got the Husky's Trojans, right,
That's why we're here this weekend? Yeah, yeah, two four
and four teams. Who's gonna be under five hundred we
find out, So well, we'll get to college in a
little bit. But NFL Sunday, the early games, there are
some stinkers, and there's some TV love that I'm gonna
(38:24):
give to a few games here. And by the way,
if you're new to the Coveno and Rich show on
Fox Fox Sports Radio, Rich has two TVs now and
he's super proud of it. So, yeah, which which one
game gets that one TV?
Speaker 4 (38:37):
I'm not proud of it as much as just shocked
how cheap televisions have become like everything solid, it's everything
else in life. Inflation televisions is like seventy inch TV
three hundred dollars. It's wild how it's a thing in
life that got cheap. Though, So I wheel out the
second TV. One TV gets a split screen Sunday ticket,
but one TV gets not only the screen.
Speaker 3 (38:59):
We were at your house last weekend. You roll it
out in a red wagon.
Speaker 1 (39:03):
It'll get out like the nerd and av class in
high school. Yeah, but I could figure I know how
to operate it, un like your teacher who was always
like the didn't know how to use a VCR.
Speaker 4 (39:11):
All right, So here are your big games, Dolphins, Bills,
and you don't have to worry about that one. Chargers, Browns,
not interested, Saints Panthers.
Speaker 1 (39:19):
If you want to see who was the worst? Raiders,
sorry Danny playing the Bengals.
Speaker 4 (39:23):
They'll probably get their ass kicked. To watch the Giants Commanders.
Maybe someone wants to watch in NFC East Battle. But
here's what you got to look out for. Some might
say Cowboys at Falcons. All the Cowboys done, they're three
and four. They can drop two games on the five hundred,
which I think they will. They're playing in Atlanta. That's
an option.
Speaker 1 (39:41):
But for the early games, I like Broncos at Ravens
because the Ravens are coming off a really tough loss
against Cleveland that was unexpected. Jameis Winston lit it up
and it was like, wow, Lamar Jackson, I didn't think
they were gonna lose again.
Speaker 4 (39:54):
No, They're playing the Broncos, who are surprisingly five and three,
and it's like, is this team for real? I think
it's a real good test for Sean Payton, Bo Nicks
and the Denver Broncos. They're five and three. The Ravens
are five and three. Meanwhile, it's almost a double digit
point spread. So I like Broncos Ravens as a game.
I want to focus in on to see if the
Broncos are for real at all. Okay, now later in
(40:16):
the day, again a couple snoozers, but two games I'm
deciding between. I want to see if the Bears can
recover from that embarrassing Hail Mary loss that took them
out of the division. In my opinion, they're four and three.
They're at the Cardinals, who I said keep sneaky winning
at four and four. That might get a little screen time,
but the big TV at the end of the day
(40:36):
late games.
Speaker 1 (40:38):
Pro Federal like this because he's a Lions fan. Lions
at Packers.
Speaker 4 (40:41):
I know Jordan loves questionable looks like he'll play, but
Lions and Packers not. That is the game that is
so telling that division's the best in the NFL. So
Lions Packers your big game of the week, big TV
game of the week, and we got more. Covine on
Rich Live from Seattle Graduate Hotel.
Speaker 1 (40:59):
Covine on Rich
