pretty sweet predictions over the years. You've been on fire lately,

but not a good weekend. Specifically, one game that my
read on was dead ass As.

I was Sam You, Dan Bayer, Danny g everyone in
the studio argued with all of us. I said, you
guys were all clowns of the ass ass clowns, and
I am the ass clown who believed in Aaron Rodgers
and the Jets.

What was I thinking? I don't know.
Speaker 2 (03:58):
I mean, I just I got that gut feeling that,
you know, maybe it was just in suggestion. I thought
that Aaron Rodgers and the Jets would turn it around
to give New York fans a little something to feel.
And you my prediction was they'd be good enough just
to tease the fans. I liked that theory because it
felt like it felt possible, just knowing how Jets seasons

usually work and how the fans are pulled in. But
this team had nothing going for it, and you know
what my into the Rogers thing this year at all.
It was a double doozy for me as a forty
nine Ers fan, because not only was I calling for
the the rise of Aaron Rodgers and Yo, this guy's done,
He's gonna bring it. I was also downplaying the Cardinals,

probably because as a Niners fan subconsciously, I'm like, man,
I hope the Cardinals think, but it looked like the
Cardinals our team that's getting better and better. And not
only that, did you hear Kyler Murray had to say
after the game about getting hit because he got hit
right head was in that helmet. I was like, oh
my god, did he get it decapitated? Helmet went flying off?

No, It's like it's like a remember a naked Gun
when they show the highlights and the guy goes up

Yeah, I mean it looked like that because he was
hit so hard from behind.

But they asked him about it after the game and
he said that sort of was a good thing because
it just woke everybody up. If you missed it, this

was at school once. I'm guessing like tenth grade. I

I am a little bit of a muddy day on
the East Coast, you know, I sluddy banks from the Wishcock.
I slipped on my ass into the mud in front
of like the popular girls outside the school. And that

I think you gotta do that pop up like you said, like,

But the way he described it was, you know, I
compare a lot of things to prize fighting. It's just

this is the NFL. We better, you know, wake the

and then also Mike Tyson like that, you see the

Danny g you were right. Jet stink they do to
the high heavens. I thought this was gonna be a

you know, Darren Rodgers three hundred though three tuddies and Nope,
I was I mean, I was dead wrong.

If you're a Jets fan, can you you don't want
to put that funnel nail on the coffin or that
you don't want to put the stamp on yet? But
can you say, Aaron Rodgers, the experiment with the Jets
is done?

Or do you feel like, well, we got maybe.

One more year and maybe you know it's it's forty
nine million dollars in dead cap space next year, whether
he retires or not. Right, did they go back? Do
they go back to think about both New York teams

Giants came back. We all turned that game on early yesterday,
right because here on the West coast, a lease it

can have Jets are down. I'm sorry, Giants are down.
They make a sweet comeback only to fun on the
first possession of overtiming. You're like a week anyway, the Jets.

I was wrong. You guys are right, But where does
that lead?

It's not that you were wrong. You created a storyline
felt that felt fun and believable, Like, yeah, confident, I
could see that happening. I think Rich was more confident
in his storyline than the actual Jets. Like there are
times where you're like, man, this storyline would be so good,
and that's the storyline ended up.

You know, I'm right, that wasn't the storyline.

Instead of having a veteran QB at the very end
of his run, though, could this be like a blessing
in disguise maybe for the Jets, because they could possibly
potentially get one of the best quarterbacks up at the
top of the draft.

I mean it's it's possibly. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (10:46):
Sometimes again, I got to give life analogies. You got
to hit rock bottom now under that scenario, start building
all over again. Under that scenario you speak of, Danny
j I'm sure local New York reporters and Jets people
are are thinking of those possibilities. Is there a world
in which the Jets draft a high pick and that
person sits behind one more year of Aaron Rodgers to

learn and Rogers tries to go all out like I
won last year because this is not.

I ain't going down like that. Do you think he's
going out like that?
Speaker 2 (11:16):
No, you know what, I could see that rich. Yeah,
And if you were, I don't know, on vacation or
you just woke up. The Jets they got destroyed by
the Cardinals. It wasn't even close. Thirty one six, thirty
one six, Kyler Murray just doing what Kyler Murray does,
looking good, fast, quick, and Connor hard to tackle. But

again thirty one six, the Jets showing nothing and Aaron Rodgers.
You could tell he's upset. You could tell he didn't
want to say the wrong things too. After the game,
he wanted to sit on before he actually spoke his
heart and spoke his mind. He actually took a breath,
which I thought was a little refreshing and smart, because
I think he would have said some things he regretted yesterday.

Good thing Robert Sala is still there so they can

I mean, the game itself was great. We're gonna obviously
talk about that. But for someone that always talks about uniforms,
I loved the Texans uniform last night.

I thought it was cool. Did you like it or no? Different?
Speaker 2 (13:25):
I like it that I feel like you have, like,
like a stronger opinion on these. I love alternate uniforms,
and I think the Texans they have a cool young quarterback.
I think they have a cool coach, they have cool
uniform matches, more of the young vibe, young quarterback. I
like the look. Hey they fell short, but I thought
they looked cool with those uniforms. Danny g was like,
they look like jolly ranchers.

I listen, I know, oh, And I said, I wasn't
mad at it.
Speaker 6 (13:50):
They've been They've been accused in the past of having
a boring uniform.

Yes, it was nothing boring about that. Yeah, I would
like some XFL sort of uniform. It's all takes, I said.
Is always a winning attitude. A couple of star players,
and you can make a previously boring team cool, pretty good.
You and dB are the first guys always to bring up. Ah,
they're they're busting out these uniforms. You didn't even mention those,

Jags had a white helmet. You know, teams are being
able to experiment a little more as long as they
don't go crazy like the NBA, where every day seems
like a different jersey.

I think the NFL has a pretty good right now,
and it's noticeable.

it did look good.

some of the bigger storylines like the forty nine Ers,
the Chiefs.

So you know your your phone calls with feedback at
eight seven seven, nine to nine on Fox. So story
number one, Rich was wrong about the jet. I'll give
you a light one because I'm like, how did this happen?
Just when you thought they couldn't get worse bringing a
new interim coach, and you.

Bring the Riz And how did the Falcons lose to
the Saints? The Falcons I thought were ready to just roll.
Speaker 2 (15:07):
Dude, not only that night to the post, Saints would
have beat them even worse if Kamara didn't dropped that pass.
I don't know if you saw it, but dude, Carr,
he made some nice passes that were dropped. The score
would have been even worse. So the Saints would have
won by a lot more if that didn't happen. So
I look at that and say, he just played a
good game, don't I don't know how it's it's made

me say that team confused the hell out of me, because, right, Danny,
remember in the beginning of the season, we all said
worst team of the league, the Saints.

They started out to and O and put like forty
spots up. You and Bayer said that, yeah.

And then dude, it would have been twenty seven to
seventeen had those passes been they lose seven in a
row and then they win yesterday, but against a team,
like we said, there were people talking about the Falcons
are about to take that next step to the elite
of the NFC, and they kind of just taking your
foot off the pedal Division game. Rizz Saints step up.
The Falcons don't step on it. They don't prepare the

same way, even if it's subconscious, right, they're going through
all the motions on it. We take every game series.
Of course, styles make fights and styles make games. But
you got to imagine that the Falcons just didn't expect
the Saints to bring it the way they did.

because so many of the games were close and exciting.
Game management in the fourth quarter was so important yesterday.

wrapping up around the same time.

Ending after although Andy Reid was one of the guys
standing there having a nervous stomach because the Broncos had
the last drive that was of the game and I'm thinking,
I swear to god, I said this out loud.

You better get that into the end zone, and instead
it felt like they were just lining up the field
goal to be in the center there.

That's the great things that make you go.

All the final plays and endings of these games were
pretty exciting. Yesterday, Yeah, South Quarter was exciting. Just back
to the Saints for a second. The big win for
reporters everywhere because the headlines and puns using RIZ or
out of control. Nobody beats the Riz. The Rizzler comes
out in New Orleans like everyone, so hey, you know what,

got to get props to Darren Rizzy his debut, a
win over a team that people thought was about to
really take that next step. People were saying, well, the
you know, the Falcons weak division with and that especially
with Tampa losing a lot of their wide receivers and
you know Carolina being bottom of the barrel and the
Saints same thing. People thought, now is the time where
the Falcons were just going to take off.

Not so fast.

I mean, geez, Saints, they're not going anywhere. But what
an odd win. In my opinion. You brought up coach
Andy Reid and the Chiefs and the ability for Denver
to try to punch that in. Does this just set
up for what I'm hoping is the ultimate let down.
I'm pulling for this to be like the Brady undefeated

Patriots where everything's so perfect from a homes and Kelsey
and I hope come playoff time, someone spoils their perfect
season because.

it was such a trap game for them, short week
off the overtime win. They got Buffalo next week. Yeah,
and no disrespect like Denver. It sucked that they lost yesterday,
but that defense is legit, so it was all there,
but except the special teams.

Oh Man and I felt like there were five guys

like honestly, it seemed so outmatched, Like how they get

Wow, it did feel like there were four Chiefs that
could have been in there. That was amazing, just amazing
to see the street continues for the Chiefs. But again

team that, like oh, we forgetting that it was a

team in the NFC, you know, before we get to
far ahead and past the Lions game that we just
talked about. I'm guilty too, Covino, because as a Niner, say,
what do I say? Oh, when the Nines are healthy
and clicking, the only two might worry about is the Lions.
Check that maybe the Eagles too, So I think Eagles

are overlooks. So if you're a Philly fan, I feel
you you're getting overlooked. But again, back to the Lions game,
Jake Bates brought the boom again right at the end
with that field goal. We saw like a lot of
field goal moments like barely make it come through, get blocked.

was this Patrick Mahomes story of him speaking to the
refs on the sideline asking asking for a heads up.
Patrick Mahomes was caught on a hot mic asking a

ref if they could let him know when a defender
is close to him. That was sort of the online
twitter gossip. It goes along with the narrative of like
the refs are on mahomes side, and you read stuff
like that and it circulates quickly on social media and
like no way.

Then you hear the sound bite and you're like, no way.

The new starter for the Broncos comes from the Dolphins
game of two flank thrown on the play the guys.

Clearly he's talking about Taylor lining up like this is
not about defenders getting too close to him in that
way and asking the rest for a heads up. So
you're like, that's misleading because he did say that. He
said that, and he heard it.

On the instantly taken out of context.

But it's completely taken out of context and again a
misleading headline. And then there was a story about Mike
McCarthy and the Cowboys Michael Parsons. The headline reads, Mike
McCarthy can leave and go wherever he wants. Sounds aggressive, Allah, MICHAEH.
Parsons like, damn man, that's cold. He's just he's just

saying it like that he could leave and go whenever
he wants. And of course you read that and you
make this assessment or assumption, and that's not really what
he was alluding to at all. I don't know if
you heard it, but uh, take a listen, this is
what Mike Michael Parson's actually said.

That's what both of my pay grade about. If Mike
is coaching again next year. But you know, all coaching
side coaching, you know, Mike can leave and go wherever
he wants. But the guys, I, you know, I kind
of feel bad for his guys like Zach Martin and
guys who might be on their last year, on our
way out, you know, because that's what I want to
go hold the trophy for. You know, you want to
win games and do great things with those type of

that I have so much sympathy and hurt for it.

the studio argued with all of us. I said, you
guys were all clowns of the ass ass clowns, and
I am the ass clown who believed in Aaron Rodgers
and the Jets.

What was I thinking? I don't know.

I mean, I just I got that gut feeling that,
you know, maybe it was just in suggestion. I thought
that Aaron Rodgers and the Jets would turn it around
to give New York fans a little something to feel.
And you my prediction was they'd be good enough just
to tease the fans. I liked that theory because it
felt like it felt possible, just knowing how Jets seasons

usually work and how the fans are pulled in. But
this team had nothing going for it, and you know
what my into the Rogers thing this year at all.
It was a double doozy for me as a forty
nine Ers fan, because not only was I calling for
the the rise of Aaron Rodgers and Yo, this guy's done,
He's gonna bring it. I was also downplaying the Cardinals,

probably because as a Niners fan subconsciously, I'm like, man,
I hope the Cardinals think, but it looked like the
Cardinals our team that's getting better and better. And not
only that, did you hear Kyler Murray had to say
after the game about getting hit because he got hit
right head was in that helmet. I was like, oh
my god, did he get it decapitated? Helmet went flying off?

person sits behind one more year of Aaron Rodgers to

he made some nice passes that were dropped. The score
would have been even worse. So the Saints would have
won by a lot more if that didn't happen. So
I look at that and say, he just played a

remember in the beginning of the season, we all said
worst team of the league, the Saints.

to the Saints for a second. The big win for

out in New Orleans like everyone, so hey, you know what,

got to get props to Darren Rizzy his debut, a
win over a team that people thought was about to
really take that next step. People were saying, well, the
you know, the Falcons weak division with and that especially
with Tampa losing a lot of their wide receivers and
you know Carolina being bottom of the barrel and the
Saints same thing. People thought, now is the time where
the Falcons were just going to take off.

I mean, geez, Saints, they're not going anywhere. But what
an odd win. In my opinion. You brought up coach
Andy Reid and the Chiefs and the ability for Denver

far ahead and past the Lions game that we just

what do I say? Oh, when the Nines are healthy

Check that maybe the Eagles too, So I think Eagles

are overlooks. So if you're a Philly fan, I feel
you you're getting overlooked. But again, back to the Lions game,
Jake Bates brought the boom again right at the end
with that field goal. We saw like a lot of
field goal moments like barely make it come through, get blocked.

I do want to get to the conflict on the sidelines.
I want to get to that and ask your opinion

on that. Retche to a forty nine ers guy. But
I had something that made me say this weekend, it's
misleading headlines, and that's always a thing, but there was
two that really stood out to me. One of them
was this Patrick Mahomes story of him speaking to the
refs on the sideline asking asking for a heads up.
Patrick Mahomes was caught on a hot mic asking a

ref if they could let him know when a defender
is close to him. That was sort of the online
twitter gossip. It goes along with the narrative of like
the refs are on mahomes side, and you read stuff
like that and it circulates quickly on social media and
like no way.
Speaker 1 (28:49):
Then you hear the sound bite and you're like, no way.
Speaker 8 (28:55):
The new starter for the Broncos comes from the Dolphins
game of two flank thrown on the play the guys.
Speaker 2 (29:10):
Clearly he's talking about Taylor lining up like this is
not about defenders getting too close to him in that
way and asking the rest for a heads up. So
you're like, that's misleading because he did say that. He
said that, and he heard it.
Speaker 1 (29:26):
On the instantly taken out of context.
Speaker 2 (29:28):
But it's completely taken out of context and again a
misleading headline. And then there was a story about Mike
McCarthy and the Cowboys Michael Parsons. The headline reads, Mike
McCarthy can leave and go wherever he wants. Sounds aggressive, Allah, MICHAEH.
Parsons like, damn man, that's cold. He's just he's just

saying it like that he could leave and go whenever
he wants. And of course you read that and you
make this assessment or assumption, and that's not really what
he was alluding to at all. I don't know if
you heard it, but uh, take a listen, this is
what Mike Michael Parson's actually said.
Speaker 4 (30:03):
That's what both of my pay grade about. If Mike
is coaching again next year. But you know, all coaching
side coaching, you know, Mike can leave and go wherever
he wants. But the guys, I, you know, I kind
of feel bad for his guys like Zach Martin and
guys who might be on their last year, on our
way out, you know, because that's what I want to
go hold the trophy for. You know, you want to
win games and do great things with those type of

legends who put in more time and work than Mike
McCarthy ever did. So those are the kind of guys
that I have so much sympathy and hurt for it.

I mean, it does sound like a dis the more
it goes on, But I don't think he meant it
like he could even go wherever he wants. The way
you read it, you know, it's more like he could
go and do his thing. He still has time in
this league. I feel bad for guys that don't have
a lot of time in this league that we're trying

the quote, it's like, yo, he could go anywhere he wants.
That sounds like almost like yeah, he can leave and
go wherever he wants, almost like beat it. Yeah, And
that's not necessarily what he was saying. There was a
compliment saying like if it doesn't work out here long term, hey,
Mike McCarthy could go coach anywhere. I feel bad our
season is disappointing. I feel bad for the veterans that
this might be exactly so again, nothing.

New, right, but but this headline, could McCarthy go coach
anywhere in the NFL? He wanted to.

You can leave here and go wherever the hell you want.
Now say it's bad. How do you interpret that, like

look at them and say, what, what's doing well?
