As you said before Fight Eve, we got a great
Thursday night football game, but we got Tyson, Jake Paul tomorrow.
You got great NFL Week eleven. So hey, allant to
look forward to over the next few days and I

(01:01):
can't wait. We'd be rocking out. Thanks for hanging with us. Seriously,
when you think about the fight tomorrow, I mentioned that's
like Jordan lace it up just for one night. You're like,
what it's like Gretzky getting on the ice because he says,
you know, he's giving it one more shot, and you're like,
no way, I mean, maybe Gretzky's too old, but dude.

Speaker 4 (01:21):
Tyson's fifty eight.

Speaker 1 (01:23):
He fifty eight fighting pretty good when he did his
final face to face a little stare down when Jake
Paul had his diamond encrusted ear guards on his little
ear covers.

Speaker 4 (01:35):
Yeah, I think Tyson looked in shape. I did. I
did not think he looked soft. I think he looked
really good.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
I'm in the best shape in my life. Hey.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
By the way, I said Gretzky like, he's so much
older than Tyson.

Speaker 4 (01:48):
Gretzky's sixty three, so it's not that far off, you
know what I mean.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
But that's how absurd it is that Tyson's getting in
the ring. You're like, what does our childhood coming right
back to us tomorrow? So make the most of it.
We'll have lots to talk about. And of course, thank
you for hanging out with Covino and Rich. Play along
at home at Covino and Rich at Fox Sports Radio
if you want to chime in on this too. Eight
seven seven ninety nine on Fox is the number Danny
G's on standby.

Speaker 4 (02:14):
Now.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
Rich is in New York, New.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
Jersey actually at the moment at my parents' house, and
he saw Back to the Future the musical yesterday.

Speaker 3 (02:24):
And I feel like you liked it.

Speaker 4 (02:26):
You didn't love it, you like us a lot.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
Listen, I got two little kids, so the chance of
me and my wife getting out to see this not likely.
So I was by myself seven o'clock. No one was
around for early dinner or drinks. So I said, you
know what, I'm going to go one ticket orchestra. Like
we said yesterday, when you're paying only for yourself, you
realize how cheap things are.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
Yeah, it's not that bad.

Speaker 1 (02:47):
And a lot of people are hitting us up, not
even realizing that it was a Broadway show. Yeah, it
has been. The first time I heard about it was
on Hard Knocks. We discussed that yesterday. The entire Jets
team went to see it and they were raving about it.
Jets on Hard Knocks were saying how much they loved it,
So that inspired Rich to go see it. And coincidentally,

(03:07):
today in the news on TMZ, Bob Gail was saying
how there's never gonna be a fourth installment of the movie.
Robert Zemeckis also chimed in and said it's never gonna happen. However,
he has pitched or thought about making a movie out
of the musical, but movie studios don't seem to dig

(03:28):
that idea. But it seems that we're never going to
fourth one and probably shouldn't ever get a fourth one. Well,
co mean, I thought the Jets can't be wrong about everything,
so I was like, I'll take that word on the
Broadway musical.

Speaker 4 (03:39):
My takeaway, you know, my old.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
School Siskel and Ebert, my rotten the potatoes as you
call it. Yeah, My review is the special effects were
like something I've never seen.

Speaker 4 (03:49):
I really did.

Speaker 1 (03:50):
I think the way they made it look like that
DeLorean was moving and the clock tower, Yo, it was
on point, like really really good. But other than Johnny
mcg dude and Earth Angel, Earth Angel, other than the
songs you know and Power Love and Back in Time,
they had to fill it with like ten other songs,

(04:10):
and those other songs were like mediocre originals. So other
than that, I think it was worth watching. If you
need a date night out and there's a you know,
it's coming to your town or your city.

Speaker 3 (04:22):
It's gonna be I recommend.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
Me seeing Biff singing about being a butt heead and yeah,
it's gotta be weird to see these these weird renditions
that go along with the movie you know and love
so well. It was solid, though, it was solid, but
it got us thinking about what never should be redone.
What movies did they remake and you're like, yeah, they
shouldn't have done it, and uh, let's let's Danny g

(04:46):
said the phones are hot. But I want to say
Bob Gail, the guy that was one of the writers
behind Back to the Future, which many say is one
of the most perfect movies ever.

Speaker 3 (04:54):
Right, Yeah, he's in the news today.

Speaker 1 (04:57):
Correct me if I'm wrong, which is unlikely a I'm
mister perfect. Bob Gail, the writer, came up with the
concept of Back to the Future because he saw an
old picture of his dad in high school and he thought, Hey,
I wonder if I would have been friends with my dad.

Speaker 4 (05:16):
Yeah, that's that's exactly correct.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
I forget if Bob Gail was the nerd or we
can't think Bobby l can we? I think Bob Gail
felt like, man, I was not a nerdy. My dad
was cool. And it's a reverse with George McFly and
Marty where Marty's like cool and he's like my dad
was a nerd and it's a legendary franchise. Three movies
were made. Some people think the third one shouldn't have
been made. I'm one of those people. I didn't like

(05:40):
the third one. Oh come on now, I really didn't, man,
And I'm a huge fan.

Speaker 4 (05:43):
Of Come on Bard. I mean, I was not a
big fan of Mad Dog tennon.

Speaker 5 (05:48):
But hold on, and I fact check you guys. You
guys are both right. Bob Gaile's idea, he said, I
wondered if me and my dad would have been friends
had we attended school together. He said he realized that
he could test this story by traveling back in time.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
Now say before we go to the phones and I
thank you guys eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox.
I also want to say that sometimes we're wrong. Because
when I heard about Cobra Kai, and by the way,
not only does Tyson fight tomorrow, but the final season
of Cobra Kai continues on Netflix. Season six, Part two

(06:23):
continues tomorrow, I thought they should have pulled the Johnny
Lawrence and leave well Enough alone. I'm like, yeah, leave
those movies alone, and we got that show reboot Cobra
Kai and it's been a great series ever since. So
sometimes taking a chance if you if you do it
the right way, it could work.

Speaker 4 (06:42):
But I haven't you ad On go ahead Cobra Kai.

Speaker 1 (06:46):
Yes, but you're forgetting the Will and Smith and Jada
the Jaden Smith.

Speaker 5 (06:50):
Kara whoahah back up before that, Rich, you're forgetting Hillary
Swank in the next Kari.

Speaker 1 (06:56):
Yeah, Cano Skip skipped a couple stinkers and went right
to Cobra KAII that's not how it works, Cove.

Speaker 3 (07:04):
Well, look that.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
I like Krawte Kid the og Karate Kid two was good,
Hillary Swang was and Jade Smith was weak, you know,
but they came back. I thought, you leave that franchise
alone with Daniel LaRusso and Billy Zapka and you know,
Johnny Lawrence. They brought it back and it worked out.
So if done right, I think there's a possibility. But

(07:26):
what are the ones that come to mind to you, like,
don't ever touch it sacrilegious. It's a huge mistake. You
got to realize, Hollywood, you know, I think running out
of ideas, people are like no, because it's just familiarity.
That's why they make these movies. It's easy to get done.
I think they're running out of ideas. I think there's
ideas that just it's easier to make something people are from.

(07:47):
Guess what, it's bound to happen. So let's make our
protests now. Which should never be touched?

Speaker 6 (07:52):
You know?

Speaker 5 (07:52):
I'll bring it to sports the first one that came
to mind. We all love the first one so much.
We reference it all the time on the show Major
League two. What a stinker?

Speaker 4 (08:04):
Oh yeah, yeah, they should have left that one.

Speaker 3 (08:06):
I w how not.

Speaker 6 (08:11):
Exactly.

Speaker 5 (08:12):
I feel like without without Willie Mays Hayes, they should
have just left it alone.

Speaker 3 (08:16):
That that that's always the case too.

Speaker 1 (08:18):
When you don't have the full cast back, it just
doesn't feel the same. And you needed Wesley Snipes in
the second one. So which ones should be left alone?

Speaker 3 (08:29):
And rich?

Speaker 1 (08:29):
I can't help but think too though, some of these
movies that we think are great, they look so old
and dated to a next generation that you know, sometimes
it just has to be redone to get their attention,
because there are great stories that should be told. I
feel like my changing, my feelings are changing a little
bit on those but I'm ready to go to the phones.

Speaker 5 (08:48):
All right, let's start in Huntington Beach, California, and Jerry.

Speaker 1 (08:52):
Hey, Huntington Beach, Jerry was up What's Happening. What's Happening
was actually rebooted. They did What's Happening? Now?

Speaker 3 (08:58):
Do you remember?

Speaker 7 (09:00):
I'm thinking what should be probably can be remade in
blazing saddles.

Speaker 1 (09:06):
Okay, it shouldn't right, you're saying it shouldn't be made,
and there's.

Speaker 6 (09:09):
No way that would be okay in today's climate.

Speaker 1 (09:12):
It would never fly in our PC world. Right, So
I actually agree with you. But if you wanted to,
let's say we go back. Let's say we were pushed
so far that the world just becomes un PC again.

Speaker 4 (09:26):
Right, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (09:28):
Don't you think that you would have to remake some
of these movies because no one's gonna watch those old movies?

Speaker 4 (09:33):
Dude.

Speaker 1 (09:33):
I can't get my girlfriend's a little younger. I can't
get here to watch anything that looks slightly made in
the nineties.

Speaker 4 (09:39):
She's like, it looks so old.

Speaker 1 (09:43):
So that's why I'm starting to feel like maybe some
of these need.

Speaker 3 (09:46):
To be redone.

Speaker 1 (09:47):
I don't know throughout your girlfriend or daughter, no like
Rich the Sandlot, Right, Yeah, it's a classic sports movie.
It's great one and done leave it alone. But you
don't think that with a newer cast we would hate it.
I get it, we would hate a reboot in a remake,
both the younger, newer cast, fresher cast, fresher effects. You

(10:08):
don't think it would translate better to a younger group
of kids that would be ready to accept that for
a new generation.

Speaker 3 (10:15):
I mean, listen, there have.

Speaker 1 (10:17):
Been reboots and revamps of some of our favorite TV shows,
and I think they've all been pretty good for the
most part.

Speaker 4 (10:25):
Like let me give you a couple cheesy ones.

Speaker 1 (10:27):
And I'd be willing to see a sequel of the
old crew and where they are now and their kids
are friends. Maybe I'd be willing to see a sequel
of that. And that's kind of what we're talking about,
because there will be no back to the future, for
there will never be. According to Za mecchasan Gail, Now,
we've been tricked by fake trailers, and you know what,

(10:49):
also the reality that Michael J. Fox got sick and
Parkinson's if he you know, that's all question itself. If
he had not ever got sick, we probably would have
got the rebirth of Martymn Fly at some point. Doc,
hey Rich, how about the you so talked about being
fooled by trailers? Just this week there was one, a
fan made trailer of Forrest Gump too. I felt for you.

(11:12):
Do you know that there was supposed to be a
Forrest Gump too? Do you know this story?

Speaker 4 (11:16):
No?

Speaker 3 (11:16):
I don't think so.

Speaker 4 (11:17):
Tell me.

Speaker 1 (11:18):
They had a script and everything, and it was around
two thousand and one because nine to eleven was the
reason they cut the script because it was the continuation
of Tom Hanks's story as far as Gump. And after
nine to eleven they're like, yeah, just scraped the project.

Speaker 4 (11:34):
Look it up.

Speaker 1 (11:34):
There was a there was a script and everything in place,
and it sort of picked up where Gump left off.
Just this week it was a fan made trailer of
Tom Hunk.

Speaker 4 (11:44):
Tom Hanks, Tom Hunk, I mean he looks great, man.

Speaker 3 (11:47):
I don't know if you've seen him lately.

Speaker 1 (11:48):
Now, Forrest Gump's son, played by Timothy Shallome. And this
made up trailer and it garnered so much attention that
people were freaking out.

Speaker 4 (11:58):
Like, don't make a sick one? How could they do this?

Speaker 3 (12:02):
So?

Speaker 1 (12:03):
Yeah, any other ideas come to mind. Let us know,
let's go to the phones. Who do we got Danny.

Speaker 5 (12:07):
Let's travel to Ohio and keV is on the phone.

Speaker 4 (12:11):
What uv Hey, how's it going guys? What up?

Speaker 6 (12:16):
Buddy?

Speaker 8 (12:18):
Hey?

Speaker 6 (12:18):
First off, really.

Speaker 7 (12:23):
Fish Lion, that was awesome. But the two movies that
cannot be remade unless they are a Muppets Our Princess Bride.

Speaker 1 (12:33):
And you know Goonies. Okay, the Princess Bride and you
know Goonies. Yeah, but maybe you don't remake Goonies. But
you wouldn't want to see They've been teasing them now
doing it about their kids?

Speaker 6 (12:48):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (12:49):
And that's always Hollywood spin right when a lot of
time has elapsed, Like, Okay, we'll have the main characters,
but it'll be about their kids.

Speaker 4 (12:57):
Dude.

Speaker 6 (12:57):
The older actors can appear as the parents.

Speaker 1 (12:59):
You wouldn't want to see key he Kwan as Data
who just won an Academy Award. He's on his comeback. Want.
You wouldn't want to see Short Round as a goony again.
You wouldn't want to see Sean Aston. You want to
see Corey Feldman and in Josh Brolin in Goonies and
their kids are goonies now and Kavin don't want to
see Chunk come.

Speaker 4 (13:20):
Out of retirement. I would's it's Chunk's I think, isn't
Chunk skinny?

Speaker 1 (13:24):
Now he's a lawyer, He's Key he Kwan's lawyer. Yeah,
so agent. Yeah, the bonds that were made in nineteen
eighty five. By the way, in September, two months ago,
the New York Post reported, Hey, you guys, Gooney sequel
is happening. Within forty eight hours, it was shut down
by Martha Plimpton and your dude, Corey Feldman said, Hey,

(13:47):
it's simply not Sue, there's no script in place. They
were all like, for a minute, we were tricked again.

Speaker 5 (13:52):
Corey Feldman did say though, that he'll he'll be on
the movie soundtrack for it.

Speaker 4 (13:56):
Yeah, great performer.

Speaker 1 (13:58):
I think he wrote the Back to the Future soundtrack
that Rich saw yesterday. But yo, guys, I very as
this one before we go back to the phone calls.
I'm sort of torn on this one because there's multiple
versions of this. Okay, how do you and this is
not to sound sexist, but.

Speaker 4 (14:15):
You're so good at it. Rich, let's hear it.

Speaker 1 (14:17):
How do you feel about the all female cast of Ghostbusters,
and then when they followed it up with the reboot
of the remaining real Ghostbusters from eighty four, because there's
layers that they did the like the Melissa McCarthy.

Speaker 3 (14:32):
Ghost by sexist answer.

Speaker 1 (14:34):
I didn't like the female reboot, and I kind of
liked them bringing back the original Ghostbusters. Yeah, yeah, but
I think, you know, Cavino, when you changed the sexuality
or even the race sometimes of people, it it's not
even a reboot or remake then, So why not just
make a new movie, like was it the honey They
made the Honeymooners.

Speaker 3 (14:53):
With like Cedric the Entertainers. Yeah, that really the Honeymooners.

Speaker 1 (14:58):
I'm with you, man, just rename is something else, you know,
create a different franchise. I'm with you on that, man.
I don't know what else should be well and left alone.
Let's just put it that way. Well, all right now,
in the Netflix world, they've done this quite a bit.
And I'll admit it, it's as cheesy as humanly possible.
But I actually thought Fuller House was done well the

(15:19):
late great Bob Saget like that was like it was
designed to be super cheese. And I watch it with
my wife and we we enjoyed it enough now I think, hey,
by the way, you can't bring that up and not
say we're saying the best out to Dave kol Yer,
who announced he has cancer this week.

Speaker 3 (15:35):
Dave cool Yer cut it.

Speaker 1 (15:36):
Out fresh Prince of bel Air on Peacock. They did
that serious spin on it where it was like more
of a drama, and I thought that was pretty good.

Speaker 4 (15:44):
I'll be honest, I thought it was good.

Speaker 1 (15:45):
That was a good spin, though a different twist. Right now,
we're we're all saying, hey, man, some things should be
just left alone and leave it alone, don't do it.

Speaker 3 (15:54):
But if I would have told you that they're going
to make.

Speaker 1 (15:56):
A Gladiator too, you'd been like, oh man, I'll do
a Gladiator too. And everybody's saying that the second movie
that's coming out now with Denzel Washington, Pedro, Pascal, Paul Mescal,
they're saying that this is gonna be like one of
the most epic films of all time, and it's gonna
remind everybody why we love going to the movies, why
we enjoy movies in the first place.

Speaker 4 (16:18):
But if you would have told me, though, this is
why I'm having a little change of heart.

Speaker 1 (16:22):
Because I used to be very adamant about leave it
alone and do something else. If you'd have told me
they're gonna do a sequel to glad Eator, I would
have said, I just don't why why.

Speaker 4 (16:36):
It's so good?

Speaker 1 (16:38):
And I'm hearing nothing but great things and at Denzel's
putting his best performance out there ever.

Speaker 4 (16:43):
Cove Danny J. Would you agree that?

Speaker 1 (16:47):
It's the question at hand isn't really do we like
reboots and remakes. It's if they're good, we love them.
If they stink, that's when we get mad and.

Speaker 4 (16:56):
We're like, would you do that?

Speaker 1 (16:57):
Like, I'll give you two examples. That's a Gladiator too.
I'm hearing Rave reviews as well. We're all excited about
Happy Gilmore too. The same man Christopher McDonald, Dan Patrick's
gonna be in it, Like we're excited. That's in I
think they're saying, maybe March of twenty twenty five, you
know you're gonna watch at day one Happy Gilmour two.

Speaker 4 (17:19):
But you know what you weren't really pumped about.

Speaker 1 (17:21):
And it's on every list of worst ideas to reboot.
Have any of us seen the remake of White Men
Can't Jump?

Speaker 4 (17:29):
No? I heard it was really bad. Yeah, I heard
it was really bad.

Speaker 1 (17:32):
Yeah, I remember when it came out, And so I
do want to point matter that were like, if we
are combining three boots and sequels in this conversation.

Speaker 6 (17:42):
And it is it? Guys?

Speaker 5 (17:43):
Is it much harder as the years go by? Remember
how excited everybody was for a Top Gun sequel. We
got teased about it for years and years. Finally we
all saw it, and I think they did a pretty
good job on it. It seems like once a certain
length of time, then it makes it that much harder.

Speaker 1 (18:02):
Yeah, Danny g Yeah, you have to ask yourself, is
there a need for that or a want for that?

Speaker 3 (18:07):
Like The White Man? Was there a want for like
a remake of that movie?

Speaker 4 (18:11):
I don't know. I don't think so.

Speaker 1 (18:12):
No, But you know, these are all good questions. Again,
I think it's less about do we like and want
reboots and remakes and all that, or is it simply
if it was a great movie that you really yearn for, Like,
let's be honest, Top Gun the second one you might
say the same about after seeing Glady it too. I
thought the second Top Gun was better than the og

(18:34):
listen Happy Gilmore I'm pumped about this because we love
the Sandman and Ben shoota like, why would we not
want more? I'll be honest, I'll tell you why I
do thatdo Happy Gilmour. It's a it's a classic for
our generation. But it's a goofy movie. So even if
it stinks, you're not gonna be mad that it tarnished
the original.

Speaker 4 (18:53):
Right, some movies are just next level epic where you're like.

Speaker 1 (18:56):
Oh, I don't even mess with that franchise in any
way possible. You and I, now you could say, now,
it's easy for us to say, like, well, it wasn't great,
but there's a movie that you and I saw.

Speaker 4 (19:10):
And we both liked it a lot.

Speaker 1 (19:13):
You probably never saw it a second time, but you
and I went to see the second Thumb and Dumber
movie with Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels.

Speaker 3 (19:20):
I thought it was good. Yeah, it was it.

Speaker 1 (19:23):
Never know, no one else really liked it. But I'll
be honest, I was excited to see it. I was
excited to see Rocky Balboa when Rocky six came out. Absolutely,
And I have one more little nugget to think about.
And I know Iowa Sam has a few and then
the rest of your phone calls eight seven nine one Fox.
We don't like when they mess with these movies, but
some movies need to be messed with. When you think

(19:44):
about how far we've come in film and movies, right,
like when you think of goofy eighties movies that we liked,
don't you think there's some movies that could be redone
to be better in today's world, like a Gremlins. Of
course there was a Gremlins too, but I'm saying the Gremlins,
who's want that? No little kid's gonna watch that. No
one's watching it at all. But it was such a

(20:04):
big part of the eighties. If they said, you know,
we're gonna make it with cooler effects and cooler animals
and cooler monsters, you don't think that it would It
would translate more and better for today's eyes, No doubt,
no doubt at all. I like, by the way, Gremlins
is a great like. If they redid that with cool effects,
that would be awesome. Buddy Michael Yo hit us up. Uh,

(20:27):
he's a dumb and dumber. The second one was awful.
Another bad sequel that we don't really talk about. I
don't even know if I've seen it. Have you seen
the second Zoolander?

Speaker 3 (20:37):
I don't think so.

Speaker 4 (20:37):
Yeah, I don't think so.

Speaker 1 (20:40):
That we came out a few years ago, you know,
Michael Yo points out something really interesting, like if the
first one's near and dear to us, we sort of
ignore that they even like tried a second one.

Speaker 4 (20:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (20:51):
Yeah, that's right too, because it ruins the first. All right,
So we'll get to your phone calls. I always Sam,
I know you have one too.

Speaker 6 (20:58):
Why don't we talk about on the other side?

Speaker 4 (21:00):
All right? Cool?

Speaker 1 (21:01):
So, hey, what does Iowa Sam think about it? Stick
around for that your phone, I will say.

Speaker 4 (21:07):
By the way, I said that, what a tease.

Speaker 1 (21:09):
I mean to find out what Iowa Sam fis Iowa
Sam's big reveal.

Speaker 5 (21:14):
I remember he doesn't have Instagram like an old guy,
so he might want to gone with the Win sequel.

Speaker 9 (21:20):
Right, yeah, I mean I want a Wizard of Oz sequel,
The Wins back in Kansas.

Speaker 1 (21:25):
You know, Io Sam, you got me thinking about other things,
and we'll get to it. We're talking reboots and sequels,
like what should be done, what shouldn't be done? Based
on the news today that we'll never get it back
to the future. For and I agree we don't need one.
And Rich's solar power parlay. We get to all that
next on the Cavino and Rich Show, Fox Sports Radio.

(21:51):
Welcome back to the CNR Show on FSR, throwing it
back on a Thursday like we always do, getting you
ready for Thursday night football.

Speaker 3 (21:57):
Rich still has his.

Speaker 4 (21:58):
Solar power parlay.

Speaker 1 (22:00):
And Rich is on the East Coast and he saw
it Back to the Future the play the musical yesterday
on Broadway.

Speaker 3 (22:08):
He liked it like he like, liked it, liked.

Speaker 4 (22:12):
He liked it.

Speaker 1 (22:13):
It was a lot of fun it listen, it was
a lot of fun. I thought the music part of
it sort of stunk, but I thought the special effects
and the actors and if they were great. It was
a fun show. If you're into that stuff, I recommend
it to like go with the wife of your girlfriend.
But today Robert Gile, Bob Gail, and Roberts Umekis both
confirmed that you'll never see a part four. So we're
wrapping up your phone calls. Movies that will never should

(22:36):
never get a sequel. Now I'm actually gonna answer the question,
and then Iowa Sam is going to lead us to
the phone calls. I thought of two movies that should
never be touched. I don't think we'll ever be touched
because they're that great.

Speaker 3 (22:49):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (22:50):
One's a sports movie because it's Fox Sports Radio, Feel
the Dreams.

Speaker 3 (22:53):
I don't think it'll ever be redone. Leave it Alone.
Kevin Parris is the man. Leave it alone.

Speaker 1 (22:58):
If you build it, they won't come if you try again.
No one's gonna watch leave it Showshank. Redemption is the
other one, perfect, almost perfect movie. No sequels necessary, no reboot,
no remake, no nothing is necessary.

Speaker 4 (23:13):
Leave it alone.

Speaker 3 (23:14):
The end. I was saying, what's your suggestion.

Speaker 6 (23:16):
Well, I'll tell you.

Speaker 9 (23:17):
One sequel that did not need to be made was
this second Caddy Shack Caddy Scheck two, which I think
had did not have Bill Murray in it.

Speaker 6 (23:23):
I believe dan Ackroyd was like the lead role. No
Ted Knight. I don't remember. I saw it one time.
It was terrible.

Speaker 9 (23:29):
Did anybody see Beetlejuice Beetlejuice tho, Because that is a
sequel that came out, you know, decades after the original.

Speaker 4 (23:35):
I heard it wasn't great, but it did huge numbers.

Speaker 6 (23:38):
So nostalgia really played into the other.

Speaker 1 (23:41):
Layer to this is people love nostalgia, and uh, the
same way you said Caddy Shack without Bill Murray. I
felt any the minute the minute Steve Gutenberg left Police Academy,
I'm like, I'm out. When Roy Scheider, when Roy Scheider
left Jaws, I'm like, I'm out.

Speaker 3 (23:58):
Not the same, No, it's not the saying.

Speaker 1 (24:00):
But uh, it's interesting because all these sequels are the
ones that are slaying it. Can we know you just
had Beetlejuice. Beetlejuice was the biggest movie over the last
couple of months. But that goes here what Danny g said,
though there was enough time in between where you wanted
it to be nostalgic. Regardless, we're talking about two of
the biggest movies that are coming out in the next
week or so. Gladiator two comes out tomorrow and Wicked

(24:20):
is the prequel to the Wizard of Oz. So the
reality is we love these things. We want to say
we don't, but we love it. Let's go rapid fire.
It's just really it's really touchy. He's got to be
done right, all right, Who do we got, Danny j.

Speaker 5 (24:32):
All right, yeah, we need the callers to fly here.
George in Texas?

Speaker 4 (24:36):
What up?

Speaker 3 (24:36):
George, what's going on?

Speaker 8 (24:38):
I was talking about to tie some fire.

Speaker 3 (24:41):
Hey, what's going on?

Speaker 4 (24:42):
We're talking movies?

Speaker 7 (24:44):
I know I didn't get to Well.

Speaker 5 (24:47):
Hang on for ust, George. We'll try to get you that. Yeah,
I'll keep I'll keep you on the line there, George,
hang on. Well let's go to Chris Kentucky right now.

Speaker 1 (24:53):
Hey, guys, remember our within Hangover and then they did
Hangover too? Yeah. So I every every holiday season I
hate turning on Disney Plus and seeing that they made
more than two Home Alones.

Speaker 7 (25:05):
It irks me.

Speaker 3 (25:07):
Whoa, whoa.

Speaker 1 (25:07):
And a lot of people say that part two is
better than the first one.

Speaker 4 (25:11):
No more than two, he's saying more than after that? Yeah,
really much like my can you know?

Speaker 1 (25:16):
Much like my theory about Jaws without Roy Scheider, no
mcaulay Culkin, no Home Alone?

Speaker 4 (25:22):
Man? Are you how many of those bad boys? Three?

Speaker 7 (25:24):
Half?

Speaker 4 (25:25):
They might be like three or four? Oh? Man?

Speaker 6 (25:28):
You actually I liked Home Alone three? I thought it
was pretty good.

Speaker 4 (25:31):
What I leave the studio?

Speaker 3 (25:33):
Oh okay, yeah, now you're right on?

Speaker 6 (25:35):
All right? Daniel in Virginia, Daniel, what's up?

Speaker 7 (25:39):
Bronson Conveno for the alien Ant Farm song earlier Love
that I got a couple of quick ones for you,
sequels that should have never been made in movies and
super tri terrible no problem.

Speaker 4 (25:50):
Yeah, that's why.

Speaker 1 (25:52):
Man, it's it's You're gonna be so disappointed if they don't,
if they don't land.

Speaker 6 (25:57):
It right, all right?

Speaker 5 (25:59):
Scott in Michigan in Hey, Scott's up, Scott, hang on,
let's see Scottie there he is right there.

Speaker 6 (26:07):
Hey, Scott, Hey, listen.

Speaker 5 (26:10):
I want to get this out of the way quick.

Speaker 8 (26:11):
First of all, I listened to all FSR and you
guys are the best show on it.

Speaker 6 (26:15):
I love your show.

Speaker 5 (26:16):
It makes my.

Speaker 3 (26:17):
Day very nice, very nice.

Speaker 7 (26:20):
That's not why I called.

Speaker 9 (26:21):
I called because this is a passionate topic for me.

Speaker 4 (26:24):
And I can tell you this.

Speaker 5 (26:25):
If they ever attempt to.

Speaker 1 (26:28):
Touch the perfect movie that is The Breakfast Club, I'm
out n it still hits you know what? All those yeah,
let me touch John Hughes movies I've want. I've shown
them to my daughter and they still resonate with with
teens today, which is amazing and so great. But last
six always stand to test the time. Remember that, I
mean that super knowledgeable call. It just based on how

(26:49):
we started the call. Oh yeah, that guy talking about
Breakfast Club could be know would be a movie where
you could see them taking a bunch of different personalities
and being like, we can redo this, right, you told
you can see them doing it. But I haven't seen
any of these John Hughes movies done yet.

Speaker 6 (27:04):
All right, let's go to James in Virginia.

Speaker 3 (27:06):
Hey, what up, James?

Speaker 8 (27:08):
Oh, thank you for taking my call, gentlemen, Happy Thursday? Man,
So Luca Commanders, Washing Jas Oh, helly, all right, man,
So I got three real quick man that they can
never touch. Man, I don't want your life Varsity Blues
all day, every day. Man, I was a high school
Great movie number two man good Fellers, Ray Liota, Peshi

(27:29):
and de Niro in the last one, say hello, but
y'all have a great day, gentlemen, Seluca, commander, Dude.

Speaker 3 (27:36):
Those are all great answers.

Speaker 1 (27:38):
You're not gonna make a You're not gonna remake or
reboot or come out with a sequel for good Fellas.

Speaker 3 (27:42):
This is not happening.

Speaker 6 (27:44):
Kind of tough to make a scarface sequel.

Speaker 4 (27:46):
Yeah no, yes, it's not happening.

Speaker 1 (27:50):
All right, So any more phone calls now, d nyg
or We're gonna just hit you.

Speaker 5 (27:55):
The lines are melting right now, but I know we
got to move on to that NBA topic.

Speaker 1 (27:59):
So guys, thanks for hanging tight hit us at Covino
and Rich at Fox Sports Radio. Remember we throw it
back every Thursday. Old school win fifty hits.

Speaker 4 (28:08):
Now.

Speaker 1 (28:09):
I mean, Mark, we went old school and you said
hanging tight. You should have said hanging tough, hanging tough
man your favorite new kids like NKOTB, We're rough rough.
So DeMarcus Cousins is in the news and he was
talking about ways to boost NBA ratings. Before we get
into the Solar power parlay. We got to tell you

(28:30):
his idea because it's ridiculous and Danny G loves it.

Speaker 4 (28:32):
Yeah, Danny, I'll hand it over to you, Danny G.

Speaker 1 (28:35):
Because I think this is great and it has to
do with getting all rough and tough, like it's like
the bad boy Pistons of the nineties.

Speaker 5 (28:41):
Yeah, I'm gonna pull an Iowa Sam Right now, it's
time for DB's update, and then when we come back,
we'll discuss cousins idea on how to get more eyeballs
on the NBA.

Speaker 6 (28:51):
Right before your power parlay, rich Man, you.

Speaker 1 (28:53):
Know Dann Byer. I feel like they must have got
an email from the boss about teasing.

Speaker 3 (28:56):
What do you think.

Speaker 10 (29:00):
This is Danny G's subtle way of passing along the
message to you. The Kansas City Chiefs, by the way,
will be without Harrison Butker for probably the next month
or so. Likely headed to injured reserve because of a
miniscus issue in his left knee. Had the knee scoped,
but Butker is going to be out. That means he
will not kick against the Bills on Sunday. The team

(29:21):
ended up signing Jets kicker Spencer Schrader off of their
practice squad to handle Kansas City's kicking duties against Buffalo
on Sunday.

Speaker 4 (29:30):
Speaking of the.

Speaker 10 (29:31):
Bills, wide receiver Omri Cooper says he believes he'll be
able to play Sunday against the Chiefs. He missed last
week's game with the Colts because of a wrist injury.
Of course, tonight, Commanders and Eagles starting a great week
eleven Slate Kirk Cousins upgraded to a full practice for
the Atlanta Falcons. While Steeler's running back Najie Harris was
on the practice field today, as was Raven's safety Kyle

(29:52):
Hamilton limited in practice. Lamar Jackson also listed as limited
in practice as he's nursing that knee injury. Cowboys head
coach Mike McCarry theatab Rico Dowdell as the team's lead
running back heading into Monday's game with the Texans. McCarthy
says the team will do away with their running back
by committee approach. Lions said, and Sam Laportam is the
second straight practice today because of a shoulder injury. They

(30:12):
have the Mac Jones led Jaguars coming up on Sunday.
And finally, the Tampa Bay Rays have found a new
home for twenty twenty five after Tropicana Field was damaged
by a hurricane. They will be playing their games at
steinbreder Field, the home of the Yankee spring training Complex.
The eleven thousand seat stadium located in Tampa. So that's
where the Rays will play in twenty twenty five. Guys,

(30:34):
back to you.

Speaker 1 (30:35):
Thank you, Dave, Dan, Hey, Dan, is it true that
Harrison Bucker is like, make sure there's no woman that
does surgery on my knees?

Speaker 6 (30:44):
He joked that he didn't hurt it mopping. We know
that for sure.

Speaker 1 (30:47):
Yes, exactly, Thank you, Dan Bayer. Have a great Thursday,
and I'd enjoy Thursday a football big on guys. Now, well,

this cousin story, the solar power parlay.

Speaker 4 (33:14):
But I gotta ask how.

Speaker 1 (33:15):
You're feeling man about about how you're about to You're
about to lose Soto to the Mets. Glabor Torres took
all Yankee stuff off of social media, like are you
like okay? And I know that, uh, the Golden Bachelorett
didn't choose you, she chose Chuck.

Speaker 4 (33:33):
Well, you gave it away. I didn't even know who
she chose. You blew away. You blew the Golden bat.

Speaker 1 (33:40):
So anyway, thank you guys. It's Cavino and Rich. I'm
feeling good because just so much look forward to Thursday
night football, the Fight tomorrow, UFC three zero nine on Saturday,
Cobra Kai gladiat or two. So much going on, very
pumped to kick off the weekend Manyana with you guys.
But Rich DeMarcus Cousins. He said ratings are low in

(34:01):
the NBA. He has a great way to boost them up.
He says two minute fight sessions would boost the ratings.

Speaker 4 (34:08):
What does he mean by this, Danny g exactly.

Speaker 6 (34:11):
Yeah. So here's his quote.

Speaker 5 (34:12):
He says, if I was running things, obviously I wouldn't
mind little two minute fight sessions something like that. He
made these comments to run it back TV. That gives
guys a few moments to get it off their chest
and get back to the game. I think it's entertaining.
I think it's great for sports. Only the strong survive.
That's part of it.

Speaker 6 (34:30):
For me.

Speaker 5 (34:31):
I think it would be entertaining, and I definitely think
it would boost the ratings.

Speaker 1 (34:35):
And you know what, you know what this makes me
think of. I mean, first of all, funny to think about,
but it takes me back to the Konami days, throw
back Thursday, when you were playing Nintendo. It's like combining.

Speaker 4 (34:45):
Double Dribble with grades of steel.

Speaker 1 (34:49):
It's like playing double dribble, right, and then all of
a sudden you hear fight and instead of the hockey fight,
you're having two basketball dudes fighting, then you go back
to the game. It's kind of like it's kind of
like double Dribble meets Blades of Steel. He wants that
for real life. That would would undoubtedly increase ratings, but
it will probably never happen. I would say there's two ways

(35:12):
to increase ratings, and listen, you're not gonna get guys
to you know what is the analogy would be getting
guys to stop shooting threes would be like trying to
tell baseball players that batting average matters. Don't hit home
runs like the game has changed. It's like, you know,
guys about two twenty and hit forty home runs. Guys
shoot you know, thirty three pointers. It's it's like it's

(35:33):
the game which matter because kids want to see these
highlights on social media. So are there social media ratings
because they're not watching TV. Two ways to increase ratings
always and it's fighting and cheeks.

Speaker 3 (35:47):
So fighting in cheeks.

Speaker 1 (35:50):
I mean, I guess I think about what do I
want to see, and I'm like, well, I'd like to
see some I'd like to see some some hot hot women,
and I like to see some fighting. So those are
those are very easy low hanging fruit things. So like
maybe maybe a little more shot of some of the
Lakers dancers, Laker girls, or maybe maybe more shots of.

Speaker 3 (36:09):
The XFL formula doesn't always work.

Speaker 1 (36:12):
Yeah, yeah, you're right, look something like maybe maybe just
more looking women more.

Speaker 3 (36:19):
Maybe I'm out of here, no, but.

Speaker 5 (36:21):
I mean riches would have to just be like goons
fighting because you obviously you wouldn't want Steph Curry and
lighter weight guys like that having to box it out
for two minutes against you know, somebody else's NBA player.
But imagine if you did have like Cousins, this would
give him a job back in the NBA, because like hockey,
there's certain players where they're the enforcer.

Speaker 1 (36:42):
How about you just switched the rules up with the
they've always talked about maybe a four point shot or
something like that. Like, I mean, I don't want to
change the game around too much, but if we're really
going to speculate on what could increase the ratings, fighting
just it's funny, it's a funny answer.

Speaker 3 (36:57):
It would work, but it'll.

Speaker 4 (36:59):
Never happen, right, I mean, but what what if?

Speaker 1 (37:02):
What if they lessened up on the fines or you
know what what if see because now everything's a foul,
so having to be a little more lenient.

Speaker 3 (37:12):
Well, I'll think.

Speaker 1 (37:13):
About maybe why aside from generational habits, right, people don't
like the whole load management, not necessarily behavior, but yeah,
they just don't like it.

Speaker 4 (37:24):
I don't think. I think it rubs people the wrong way.
So they're like, yes, Scooty's.

Speaker 1 (37:27):
Divas well, load management ain't gonna get better if guys
are swinging, you.

Speaker 4 (37:32):
Know, elbows exactly exactly.

Speaker 1 (37:35):
So I think these are the things that need to
be looked into and you need to ask yourself, well,
wire ratings down and figure it out from there. But
I like where he's going. I like a good fight.
I'll watch anybody fight. That's why we tune into brawls.
I'll watch any anytime a fight breaks out in any sport.
I'm down to watch. I mean, I mean, I did
give the low hanging answer, but I do think, like

(37:55):
when I think what do guys like, they like go
look at women, and they like fighting. So it's like,
you know, you would think that's why that was Vince
mcman's thinking. You're right when he started the XFL was like,
what do you have water people like? But maybe just
like like legalized one thing with clothes lines or something
like one sort of wrestling move, like just one. If
you close line someone, if you close line someone going

(38:15):
up to the basket, you're fine.

Speaker 4 (38:18):
If you can close line him, you're good.

Speaker 3 (38:20):
All right, let's do this.

Speaker 4 (38:21):
I got a Solar Power parlay and a teaser bet.
Let's go. It's time to parlay into your weekend. Rich
Davis loves parlays. You're making money, and he loves his.

Speaker 6 (38:33):
New solar panels solar board.

Speaker 4 (38:35):
Draft my Solar Power parlay. Oh right, you're making money
money and he loves cheeks. Carry on, continue. So here's
what I got.

Speaker 1 (38:47):
I got a parlay that I think you're gonna love,
and I have a teaser bet you might love even more.
Here's the here's the the parlay. We've done it consistently.
Three teams money line. We're not worried about points, so
we take teams that are less than a touchdown favorite,
because otherwise your money line would be not worth it.

(39:07):
I got tonight Eagles money line beating the Commanders.

Speaker 4 (39:12):
Now I hate this because I'm rooting for the Commanders.

Speaker 1 (39:15):
But I got it. You can't bet with your heart.
You gotta bet with your head. So I got Eagles
money line at home. I really love this Ravens at home.
I'm sorry Ravens at Pittsburgh because I think even though
they're on the road, like Ravens are a better team.
So I like Eagles Ravens and they're like a five
point four and a half point favorite, so it's a
it's a big money line. But I like green Bay

(39:37):
at Chicago. So green Bay the Packers, the Ravens, Eagles
one hundred paced two twenty. And my teaser bet two
teams that are favored by six just making a pick them,
and that's Niners hosting the Seahawks and the Vikings playing
the type. So I like Niners Vikings in a teaser
bet and I love it, so lock that in Ta da.

(39:57):
Thank you, DraftKings coach Cursha, all right, enjoy the game
tonight and we'll get you ready for the fights tomorrow.

Speaker 4 (40:03):
I don't even doubt your baby, So you in a
promised lands
