And m Thank you guys for rocking out with us,
for joining us wherever we go. We're here in Miami
for Raiders at the Dolphins, just to watch some football.
Sort of a bruise weekend. I mean, that's what it
is like. The Dolphins.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
Raiders have become a backdrop to just a weekend getting
together with good friends.

Speaker 1 (01:23):
Yeah, we did one of those things where hey, let's
get together at least once a year, check out a
new stadium, go to a game, catch up with buddies.
But not only do we go to the game on Sunday,
we're watching the fight tonight, and I think that's what
everybody should be doing. This is your opportunity to reconnect
with those buddies you abandoned from the nineties. Family members
you really don't talk to as much. But remember when

(01:45):
you used to get together, order pizza, order the pay
per view, get together to watch Tyson to knock your
knock his opponent out in ninety seconds and you'd still
love every second of it. You get to see that
again tonight. It might not go that way, but that's
what we're going to break down today on the caven
Know and Rich Show. We want to hear from everybody.
We're gonna talk about it. We're gonna go over Rich's
big TV game of the week. Get you ready for

(02:06):
the NFL Week eleven and weekend hobnobbing. Aside from the
fight tonight, what else do you need to watch? There's
a lot, There's a lot, but we got I was
Sam in the house, what's up?

Speaker 2 (02:16):
I was saying, guys, Sam for Danny g Yo, Jase Stu,
get to see my friend Hello everybunday.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
There is the hooper of the party, Jay Stu, who
we love. But my goodness, Jay, I heard you with
Gottlieb talking about the fight tonight. You sucked all the
fun out of one of the most awesome nights of
the year. I can't even believe it. We're gonna get
to that. Of course, d B is on your I know,
hanging out with Jay Stu.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
Socially, the guy's a fun time, his girlfriend's beautiful.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
They're sweet and but this is that the worst take
he's ever had. I can't wait to talk about it.
We've got to get everybody involved. Dan Byer's got your updates.
But let the wild rump is start. We've waited for
this since since what nine months ago? It was supposed
to be in July. We were actually, you know, maybe
thinking about going then it got rescheduled. So we're just

(03:09):
here trying to make the most of it, watching like
everybody else under the moon tonight, wondering what's gonna happen.
And Jay, dude, you gotta tell us what you told Gottlieb.
I heard a little bit here and there I was
listening in we were having some cocktails. You were hanging
out in this airbnb we got in Miami, and all
I heard was you being really negative about what I'm

(03:30):
so pumped about. So I want to hear explain yourself.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
I hate to be a buzzkill, I really do, because
it's all good man. There's a different there's a different
energy on the show with you guys, and I try
to bring a different energy what Doug I could kind
of be my my comrudgen self. But I will say
this about tonight, I'm not gonna watch. I'd have no
interest in watching. I'll see all the clips afterwards, I'll
see the Twitter reaction, but I just have no I

(03:55):
don't have any interest in seeing a young athletic person
beat the hell of an old man.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
I know yours. No, I can't see that, but we're
just hoping that isn't the case.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
It doesn't go against my brain, Jayson, it goes against
my heart. In fact, I want to here's what I
want to do. I want to discuss, but I want
to play a couple of clips that might change your
thought process a little bit. Let's start. I was sam
with Mike Tyson. You saw him slap Jake Paul.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
A lot of people are like, oh, it's a fake slap.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
He stepped on he slept on his stepped on his feet,
and Mike Tyson has a real particular problem with someone
touching his feet.

Speaker 1 (04:37):
It wasn't fake, this was not stage. There as a
lot of speculation on that man. This is right out
of the WWE playbook. No way, And I'll tell you why.
Jake Paul steps on the stage, steps on his gold toes.
He'll step on another man's gold toes. That's the premiere
sock in all the sock industry gold toes. No way,
no how, And he reacted accordingly accordingly to that. Take

(05:00):
a listen to Mike talking about his feet.

Speaker 4 (05:02):
I don't know what I would do in you because
I watched the UFC a couple of times, and I
watched the guys step on people's feet. And I have
the worst feet in the world, right and if somebody
step on my feet, I would totally tap out.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
I would just give up. It would be a no brain.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
No, he does not like his feet being stepped on
or touch So that reaction, Buddy, was genuine in fact.
Ariel Howane, who we've worked with great Dude friends of
the show, Arieljwane said the face Mike Tyson made after
his foot was stepped on and he slapped Jake Paul

(05:37):
was that of like a madman.

Speaker 1 (05:38):
Fury reaction there, And it's definitely if that's what gets
that old Mike Tyson out. Man, he showed up just
in time. Look, you have to realize he has a
foot thing. Clearly you just heard that. It's weird. Yeah,
I mean I do too, Yeah, I do too. A
little bit. Then he comes out in his brand new,
crispy clean, very fresh gold toes, like I said the

(06:02):
premiere sock in all the Land, I rock them. You
step on them, It's like someone coming out and stepping
on your brand new nikes, you know, what I mean,
like he stepped right on his toes, my good teeth,
so he got a smack in the face, and I
think that that woke the animal up. Man, I think
he woke them up inside maybe a little bit.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
Now I was saying, Mike Tyson said something that might
change your mind as well.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
He talked about what this means for his kids. Take
a listen, family, everything but my kids. Not to my children,
I'm nobody. And then that night they're gonna find out
their faults. Every special.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
I mean, why would you say that about your kids
if you don't plan on whooping Jake Paul's as tonight.

Speaker 1 (06:45):
My kids are gonna find out that's special. No, And
he was like very special, Like he put a lot
of heart into that. He meant it. So we're playing
these clips for two reasons. Everybody saw the slap heard
around the world last night at the Way in did
you see Mike Tyson this junk too. He grabbed this
junk at the way and like my junk, Like he's
getting in that Mike Tyson like angry, you don't know

(07:08):
what to expect, sort of zone, like anything could happen,
sort of zone, which is kind of cool. You saw
the slap. Now we're playing the clip that pretty much
solidifies what people are wondering about, like does he have
a lot to fight for? Is he going to give
up in the ring? You're fighting for your children's respect.
You can't embarrass your kids in this moment. His kids
are living as social media life too. They're teenage kids,

(07:30):
they're young kids.

Speaker 2 (07:30):
If he was going to take a fall for Jake Paul,
then you don't bring up your kids in it, right, Yeah,
I agree, that's one thing. Now, people around the sports world, listen,
we've been talking about it, reacting.

Speaker 1 (07:40):
We'll just go over a few people that think Tyson
has no chance.

Speaker 2 (07:44):
A guy we respect, a guy we be Like Dave
Portnoy from Barstool thinks betting on Jake Paul might be
the easiest bet he's ever made.

Speaker 1 (07:51):
Take a listen to this.

Speaker 5 (07:52):
I've been wrong before, so I'll preface it with that,
and I may be wrong again. Jake Paul might t
I didn't even know you could bet it. I didn't
even know you could bet it. I thought it was
an exposition of farce. Netflix give these guys money. Get
the curious, like seeing a circus. Tune in and watch
the fight. Didn't think it was Samson that you could

(08:13):
actually bet it.

Speaker 1 (08:15):
I go on DraftKings, you can bet this fight.

Speaker 5 (08:18):
Jake Paul is minus two hundred two to one favored
over Mike Tyson.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
Are you kidding me? Listen?

Speaker 5 (08:25):
I'm a Mike Tyson historian.

Speaker 1 (08:27):
I grew up on Mike Tyson, watch all his fights.

Speaker 5 (08:30):
Couldn't wait for press conferences. Mike Tyson PUNCHO. I know
Mike Tyson. I grew up on Mike Tyson. I love
Mike Tyson. Mike Tyson has no shot in this fight.
Mike Tyson, Yeah, I get it. Was a bad man
when his heavyweight champion in the world and David Rod mcgibbns.

Speaker 1 (08:46):
And spinx and things like. I get it. I watched,
I lived it.

Speaker 5 (08:51):
The Mike Tyson after prison was a shell of himself.

Speaker 1 (08:53):
He wasn't even a good fighter. You could come there
last four fights, there's there's port and I now makes
a loto points. But for him to not know it
was a sanctioned fight means he's been not tuning in
at all. For a minute. Seriously, he didn't know he
could bet on that fight. That shows me he has
been paying close attention to what's been going on recently.

(09:14):
He's dead on and saying that even towards the end
of his career, Yeah, he had nothing really in the tank.
You remember his famous quote, I did, though, have the
fighting guts, And you do have to wonder it's a
long time, does all of a sudden he have the
fighting guts again? Look? Man, he was a master at
the craft. Are you gonna say that a master at
the craft is going to lose to a dude's who's

(09:36):
only strapped on the gloves. What for the past four years,
is it's father time versus Mike Tyson. That's what's going
on here. You know, we all know he could beat
Mike Jake Paul any other time, but portnoy I respect
his decision, but he's saying there's no chance. There's always
a puncher's chance. I know, but this is Mike Tyson.

Speaker 2 (09:54):
Before we discuss on the show, let me point out
a point two more quickies.

Speaker 1 (09:58):
Pauli Malanaji a buck sure you love hey? Pauli melan Naje,
eh boy mel Nae an underrated fighter from back in
the day. Yeah, man, he's a champion. Take a listen,
what PAULI.

Speaker 6 (10:09):
Had to say, I'm gonna be straight up. I'm gonna
be very clear about this. Jake Bawl stops Mike Tyson tonight.
All right, there's no two ways around it. I know
everybody's getting excited with the forty years ago highlights of
Mike Tyson all over the Instagram and all over the
social media.

Speaker 1 (10:22):
Wake up, guys, wake up.

Speaker 6 (10:23):
Most of you guys weren't even around, weren't even alive
during that era.

Speaker 1 (10:26):
All right, stop with the crap.

Speaker 6 (10:27):
All right, that's fifty eight years old.

Speaker 1 (10:29):
All right. He's he's on shrooms and weed every.

Speaker 6 (10:32):
Day prior to this camp, and then he went to
camp for a couple of months, and all of a sudden,
he's gonna beat this twenty seven year old guy who's
not a novicet. By the way, nobody's ever gonna say
Jake Paul's world Let's fighter, but he's not a novice.

Speaker 1 (10:41):
Guys.

Speaker 2 (10:42):
Yeah, these are great takes, and I feel like we've
been bringing our takes for the last months and months
and months on this.

Speaker 1 (10:48):
Even saw andre Ward, another great fighter, sg Ward, a legend,
spoke about it. Here's what he said. He that's just
a quote there was no audio. His quote was simply,
it's impossible to call this. Oh he's been talking about it, yeah,
for weeks. It's impossible because you just don't know what
Mike Tyson has left in the tank. You don't know
how a fifty eight year old former legend sizes up

(11:11):
against a strong, hungry, twenty seven year old guy who's
only been in the ring but active, but only been
boxing for four years. So I will tell you this, man,
and I said this, and I say this reluctantly. I
think Jake Paul's gonna win, But that doesn't mean I
don't think Tyson has a chance. That's where I disagree

(11:31):
with Portnoy, and that's where I disagree with Pauli Malanaji.
Mike Tyson is a heavyweight fighter man. He's fought bigger guys,
more intimidating guys, far more scarier than Jake Paul. He
fought Lennox Lewis you think he cares about stupid Jake Paul?
Does he take Jake Paul serious? Absolutely? But is he
intimidated by this moment? Not at all? You know, I

(11:52):
think he has a legitimate shot, and I hate to
say the same thing over and over again. We've seen
it before with George Foreman, We've heard it many times.
Is just a boxing fact. The last thing to go
is the power Tyson still has.

Speaker 7 (12:06):
That.

Speaker 1 (12:06):
Here's my fear, Rich that Tyson gets in there and
he looks real slow against a young Crisp Quick in
comparison to Mike Tyson, Jake Paul. You know, Mike Tyson
could look real good and highlights, could look real good
warming up and training, but is that going to translate
in the ring against his young dude. That's what makes
it intriguing, So to tune out. Here's why I have

(12:26):
a problem with jay Stu. By the way, jay Stu,
who we love, he's poo poohing this like he doesn't
even want to watch I don't know if it because
it makes him sad or he's just not interested. But
he sounds like my old far uncle Tommy, my uncle
Tommy who like goes to sleep on New Year's Eve
because watched the ball drops. That sounds that's exactly what

(12:49):
he sounds like, the old guy who just doesn't want
to stay awake because this who cares? Who cares? Even
if Tyson gets knocked out? And our childhood dreams are
crushed forever. Got to be part of the history and witness.

Speaker 2 (13:02):
Now, if you've told me, hey, listen, I'm not spending
seventy nine or eighty nine ninety nine dollars for this,
I understand.

Speaker 1 (13:08):
He's on Netflix. So and everybody knows. So you always
say everybody has Netflix, doesn't have not everybody has Netflix?
Come on, but everybody knows. Come on, there he is
who doesn't have Netflix?

Speaker 2 (13:20):
My grandmother who my grand I don't even have a
grandmother who doesn't have Netflix?

Speaker 1 (13:25):
You're great, You're a grandkid. Orphan. You don't have any orphan, Dicky,
no more grandparents. So everybody knows somebody that has Netflix.
That's a fair state. So all right here here's my thought.
And Jay stew and Sam and Dan Bayern. Are you
guys under the feeling of we just love Mike Tyson

(13:46):
and we are really hoping for something that's not going
to happen. Do we have blinders on?

Speaker 8 (13:51):
So?

Speaker 2 (13:51):
Like, you know, everyone thinks their kids the cutest, and
everyone thinks their kids the best athlete.

Speaker 1 (13:55):
You know, like when people went on.

Speaker 2 (13:56):
American Idol back in the day and their families like,
you're great, go do it.

Speaker 1 (14:00):
I don't think so, are we. Dude. We're being very
real about it. Tyson could go down. He could, he
could just I just don't have it anymore. He could
embarrass himself. But we gave you reasons to believe the
kids angle the shape he's in. But what about this
let me punch slip it.

Speaker 2 (14:16):
People saying Tyson has no chance. I mean, we forget
in all these Jake Paul highlights. I'm not the guy
that downplays Jake Paul. A lot of people like to
downplay Jake Paul and oh he's inch wincer.

Speaker 1 (14:27):
Jake poll can be Tommy Fury. He takes it serious.

Speaker 2 (14:31):
But he did lose to Tommy Fury. And because he
lost to Tommy Fury, we forget that he fought one fighter.
The one fighter he fought he lost. Everyone else he
beat was some type of mixed martial artist. People he
fought were, you know, former UFC champions, Like he hasn't

(14:54):
fought anyone where I've been like impressed.

Speaker 1 (14:57):
Like picked, just like Tyson, who's fifty eight. So did
we see Mike Tyson take his training serious? Absolutely, That's
why they postponed it to tonight. So the night is
finally here. This is like Christmas morning for like any
sports fan, you don't need to be a fight fan
or boxing fan. Tyson transcends all of that. He's a
cultural icon. You're like I said, your granny's coming out

(15:20):
of her room. You know how your granny sits in
her room all night. She's coming out of her room.
The kids are getting off their computer, off their tablet,
a grandparent orphan. I just told her they're all coming
to watch this fight. It's here tonight. We gave you
everybody's take, We told you ours. I think Jake Paul's
gonna win, but Tyson, if he gets them before the
fourth round, has a shot after the fourth round. Father

(15:42):
time wins, not Jake Paul. We go to you Fox
Sports Radio Nation. We go to the phones at eighty
seven seven ninety nine on Fox. What do you think?

Speaker 2 (15:50):
Let's chop it up? And I still want to hear
more from Jay stew What is Jaseu watching though the
pistons in the.

Speaker 1 (15:55):
You know rap? We also need to figure out and Jay,
you could be his curmudget you want. It's all good.
We love you, We know you're a cool dude. We
love hanging out with you. I really want to hear.
What else is more important than this tonight? Are you
and Christina not cut up on the Golden Bachelorette.

Speaker 3 (16:10):
Yeah, here's the crazy thing, guys, here's a crazy thing.
Christina and I will probably be watching Netflix, That's what's
funny here. We've been binging The Lincoln Lawyer. I'll probably
be watching that as Mike Tyson is being played on
the same streaming network. How else cuckle is that?

Speaker 1 (16:25):
But dude, as a sports guy, how could you want
to sit out on this anyway? Like you think it's
just such a farce and such a clown show, or
do you think it's fake or do you think that Yeah,
Tyson has no shot, so why even bother.

Speaker 3 (16:36):
If this was a one on one basketball game, I
would tune in. But there is always the fear or
the possibility that somebody could get very hurt. And I'm
not the audience for that. I know there's a lot
of people that want to see somebody get hurt. I don't,
so I'm going to tune away and then I'll catch
the clips.

Speaker 1 (16:56):
But you're saying that someone's probably going to be Mike
if anybody correct you see? Yeah, dude, what if what if?
Hold on? That was a compassionate answer, and I really
can't argue that if that's how he feels. I do
kind of understand that. I mean, kind of lame, I mean,
but I do understand.

Speaker 2 (17:13):
I think there's a chance there's that Paul, he's fifty eight.
I think he Apollo Creed Dragos to Mike Tyson.

Speaker 1 (17:20):
I mean, he had a postponus because he had alser problems.
He's an older guy, you know, but he is Mike Tyson.
If he dies, he dies, I'm not gonna die.

Speaker 3 (17:31):
You know.

Speaker 1 (17:31):
That would be crazy. You know. And here's another thing
I want to open up the phones to. You have
to factor in this. This first hour is pretty much
going to be about Mike Tyson. What sort of chaos
are we going to see? We saw a little bit
of that craziness yesterday, as anyone. Is there an unexpected
celebrity that walks one of them down? Is a holy
field in Lewis Lennox Lewis, Are they walking out? Does

(17:51):
Tyson come out with someone else famous? Does something crazy happen?
Are there crazy antics? Does it go the distance where
we get a rematch and and people are like, oh, Man,
this was stage. Does the streaming service go out because
it crashes and it can't handle all the eyes on this?
Does it become the most watched fight ever? Look, you

(18:12):
also got Cobra Kai the final season tonight, so Netflix
is going to be packed with eyes and people and speculation.
I think this will be one of the biggest fights
of our lifetime, and our job here is to hype
you up about it and to get your opinion. But also, man,
this is coming from a real place of intrigue, and

(18:34):
like Portnite said before, we grew up with this. Dude,
how can we tune out now? No way? No how?
What if Jake Paul is escorted out by James Buster Douglas.
Buster Douglas wouldn't do that? You think he would like
go against Tyson? Every boxer wants to see Tyson winning.
I'm just saying, like, I mean, who was the one

(18:54):
guy about the douglay through the wonderful man Heath in
my corner until Jake Paul, until Ke Pulkins. I'm like
twenty grand talking about right, Yeah, Jake Paul might pull
some weird antic to get under the skin of Mike Tyson. Yeah,
what other sort of circus. Antics. Do you think we'll see?
What is your side of the story? What do you
think will happen? Let's chop it up, as they say,

(19:16):
and let's get to you. Fox Sports Radio Nation live

Rich and rate review and follow the podcast. We appreciate
it to get hyped up for the fight tonight. Yeah,
the guys were hanging with They brought an old school

(20:45):
NES simulator. Yeah, and we're playing Tyson's punch out earlier.
Remember you ememver had to beat King Hippo. Yeah, you
hit him in the mouth, in the gut. That's how
it works. Yeah, I know how to beat the whole
game in fact, to prove that we're lifelong Tyson guys.
And it's a generational night. That's what makes this fun.
Bring Michel, you remind me of von Keiser. Uh So,

(21:08):
it's a generational thing bringing people together tonight so much
so that I remember the code double O seven three
seven three five nine six three. That's the code to
fight Mike Tyson Invincible. That's what we thought growing up.
We had the pleasure of meeting him and interviewing him,
going to his ranch several times, knowing that this dude
could sort of snap at any moment. He's that type

(21:30):
of guy. He's real friendly, a guy with going.

Speaker 8 (21:32):
Now.

Speaker 2 (21:32):
You know the last time we saw Iron Mike when
we were Blue Wire Studios in Vegas. Oh yeah, and
he was report he was recording his hot boxing podcast
and he was running late.

Speaker 1 (21:42):
So we he Afterwards, he goes, there's there's pictures of
this right in our Instagram story at Covino and Rich.
He goes, so, sorry guy for making you wait. You
guys are good guys, like the Iron Mike for you. Yeah, So,
I mean anything a guy we've grown up with and idolized,
and therefore we can be jaded. But it is boxing.
I admitted, anything could happen. And you know Jay Stu,

(22:04):
who's choosing not to watch, He's saying, look, there's an
old guy in the ring. I don't want to be
part of something bad that could potentially happen. Dude, watching
our heroes fall is a part of all of sports.
That's just part of it, especially the fight game. And
regardless of how old you are and who's getting in
the ring, you're always putting your life at risk. That's

(22:25):
that's what fighters are willing to do. And Tyson even
said in the recent Docuy series on Netflix, I want
to I want to die in the ring because he's
got that fighter's mentality. What do you think he wants
to die in an old age home or in a wheelchair.
This is the way these guys think. And if you're
a fan, you know that's always a chance. What do

(22:46):
they say in your favorite movie, Blood In, Blood Out?
Life's of risk are now it is? Everybody knows that
I was Sam jay Stu. Let's go to the phones.

Speaker 2 (22:54):
But any any uh, any last minute it takes from
you guys. I mean, I know Jay Stu's not watching,
but I was saying, you're you're bunger. You're a kid
of the nineties and two thousands less than the eighties. Nineties,
when were you born? I was saying, if you don't
mind me asking, eighty six, all right, so you were
a great year. Mets were world chair Series Champions and
I was Sam was born.

Speaker 1 (23:10):
What a great year, what a year?

Speaker 2 (23:12):
So Sam, you think you hit think of Mike Tyson,
You're thinking, like, post jail Mike Tyson.

Speaker 10 (23:17):
I remember him being I remember him being at his peak,
and you know I was, I was pretty young, but
I do remember it. To tell you the truth, I
don't really remember anything about his life like after he
got out of jail. I couldn't tell you, but I
do remember him just his name being mentioned a lot
and him being on TV.

Speaker 2 (23:34):
And so his whole reputation changed because for a while
it was, yeah, Mike Tyson's not a great guy.

Speaker 1 (23:40):
And then he became a deeper thinker in philosopher, almost
deeper thinker. You know what happened? The hangover helped. He
had that interaction with a toad, which sort of enlightened
him a lot too.

Speaker 2 (23:51):
No, but honestly, the hangover and he did the cartoon
network stuff. He had like a Mike Tyson cartoon with pigeons,
and he started doing the weed stuff. Everything about Mike Tyson,
like his perception, his image just a bit.

Speaker 1 (24:03):
Pauli Malanaji pointed out, too before a guy who smoked
weed and mush rooms for years on end, is all
of a sudden gonna just beat this hungry young fighter.
Oh man. I hate hearing those things because it does
bring a large reality pack to you. We're all excited.

Speaker 2 (24:24):
I know we're I know we're in a professional setting
Fox Sports Radio, but I gotta tell you one of
my one of my big regrets in broadcasting, teaming up with.

Speaker 1 (24:31):
This guy now one of my bit We were at.

Speaker 2 (24:33):
Mike Tyson's ranch and he was smoking as he walked
over to us, and he handed his joint to his
to his pal and was like, let's go Covino and
Rich and I so badly want to be like hand
it Aver. I just wanted to say I smoked.

Speaker 1 (24:47):
I wanted to say to say I smoked it Mike
Tyson and I chickened out. I was right, let's start
the interview, Mike. But we were working for ESPN at
the time, Disney, that might have might have been inappropriate.
So Fox Sports Radio Nation, Jason, Iowa, Sam jump in
whenever you want. Dbat Dan Byron's got your updates. In
a few minutes, we're going to you your thoughts. We

(25:07):
gave you all things to think about. We're playing all
sides here, well, nowhere we stand. You know who we're
rooting for. Anything's of possibility. Let's see what you have
to say now at eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox.
Who do we got?

Speaker 3 (25:22):
Thank you Covino and Rich. I'll take it from here.
Let's go to Dwayne in Texas. Dwayne, you're on the air.

Speaker 1 (25:27):
Thanks Jase, dude. What's up to right?

Speaker 7 (25:28):
What up to?

Speaker 9 (25:30):
Hey?

Speaker 11 (25:30):
Greetings from Odefa, Texas. Hey, just like you, guys, I
had a chance to meet Mike Tyson, had a meet
and greet at the Venetian over in Vegas. And his
hands are huge. I don't know if you all shook
his hand, but it was like a normal person shaking
somebody's pinky. Yeah, you know, somebody hits you. That's gonna hurt.
Thanksful lot.

Speaker 1 (25:51):
Heavy hands for sure.

Speaker 7 (25:52):
Man.

Speaker 1 (25:52):
But here's the thing. They say, big hands, big feet,
No that big gloves. That's when he stepped up my
toe the ov my toes are and look at those
hands are they small?

Speaker 7 (26:02):
Hole?

Speaker 9 (26:02):
No?

Speaker 1 (26:03):
You know, he brings up a good point and that
is something that I think guys recognize. You shake a
guy like that, you shake his hand, you take it
in right, it's Mike Tyson and it is you know,
a big hand, a big, firm, strong hand that knocked
so many people out. And man, he's so intimidating. He
got to you got a factor in Jake Paul's lack

(26:25):
of Look, he's going up in the bright lights, but
he still has a lack of experience when it comes
to something like this. Dude thirty years thirty years of
youth on his side, all right, who that's what makes
it intriguing any any more? Feedback?

Speaker 3 (26:38):
We want to go to Jay Still, Brian and Florida.
You're on Covido and Rich Hey Brian.

Speaker 7 (26:43):
Hey, guys, how we doing.

Speaker 1 (26:45):
What's up?

Speaker 7 (26:46):
Great?

Speaker 11 (26:47):
Hear me?

Speaker 7 (26:47):
So you know, I know the thirty year age difference
is certainly a big thing, but let's kind of related
to this. If it would, say a twenty year age difference,
would it be that much of a difference, because if
you remember George Foreman, he want for the heavyweight title
at forty five years old. I know that out of shape,

(27:10):
slow George Foreman. He thought a real fighter. He bought
Michael Moore and he beat him. You guys remember that.

Speaker 2 (27:19):
No, of course, I don't know what that's the point.
He caught him, and Mike Tyson could catch Jake Paul.

Speaker 1 (27:24):
And that's that's that's the all. That's really what it
comes down to, right, Will Mike Tyson be too slow
to catch Jake Paul because they asked him, Hey, Mike,
if you do knock him out, what do you what
are you gonna knock him out with? He's like whatever, whatever,
land whatever, land. So if he could catch him, of
course he could knock out Jake Paul, if he could
catch him. My fear is that Mike Tyson just looks

(27:48):
too slow in the ring with this young man.

Speaker 2 (27:51):
You know, my my favorite bet of the night. And again,
don't do what as Rob Parker says, you don't got
to do what I do. But I'll tell you what
I'm betting. Portnoy's betting his house on Jake Paul. I
like one hundred wins, twenty five hundred Mike Tyson. Fourth round.
I don't know why I'll do that right now, I'm
just feeling it. I'll venmo you one hundred bucks.

Speaker 1 (28:11):
Yeah, I don't know why I'm loving it like that.
I feel Yeah, fourth round one, I'm gonna veno you.
You got this. You can make it happen. I'll make
it happen here, all right. I'm gonna Venmo Rich one
hundred fourth round because here's why. I think if he
doesn't tag him by the fourth round, he doesn't have
a shot because when he'll be too tired and too wigged.

(28:31):
But early on he's there feeling each other out right,
And keep this in mind, guys, they're using fourteen ounce gloves.
I talked to this guy, Chris yesterday on the Haymaker
Combat podcast, and he was saying, that's advantage both of
them because bigger gloves means bigger more defense, you just
block the punches more. So advantage there. But as far
as two minute rounds, advantage, Mike, I'd say advantage Mike, Yeah,

(28:54):
you know, because and it's gonna go Those rounds are
gonna go quick, so he has to get it done
by the fourth round. I'll take that, all right.

Speaker 2 (29:01):
Let's we'll take two more quickies and we'll go to
our boy Damn Buy for an update.

Speaker 1 (29:05):
Who do we got Jay, Stu? Gentlemen, let's head out
to the Rockies.

Speaker 3 (29:09):
Sam and Colorado.

Speaker 1 (29:11):
Sammy, Oh golly.

Speaker 8 (29:13):
Golly, no, Danny g but Stu you're doing.

Speaker 1 (29:16):
A great job and I love you guys. Thanks bro.

Speaker 8 (29:20):
I want to call in hey, But my my only
take is, does Jake Paul not look like Glass Joe.

Speaker 1 (29:27):
I've seen those memes. I've seen those memes. It's a
fun meme. Yeah, yeah, you know what, but it's not
a it's not a far off comparison. Here's why Glass
Joe was a professional fighter in the video game Stop
It No, No, no, serious. But has Jake Paul fought
anyone of real credibility? That's that's what you need to
keep in mind. Yeah, he's knocking people out. Yeah, he's strong. Yeah,

(29:49):
he's taking a series. I gave him all the credit
in the world for that. Dude, you love it. But
the dude is delusional. He said a few things in
the past few days that he feels he could have
beaten Mike Tyson at any state his life's confidence, big
dreaming bra as they say. And what else did he
say that was ridiculous? Recently? You see what his brother said,
Oh that he's gonna go after Canelo, Like, yeah, okay, Canelo,

(30:11):
first of all, weys more than forty pounds less than you,
and he'd still light you up. Because they're real fighters.
I've never and I'm not saying he's not. I'm saying
he's not at that pedigree now at all.

Speaker 2 (30:21):
I've never been one to discredit what Jake Paul's put
into his boxing.

Speaker 1 (30:25):
Dude. You know the penal though, But every every sport
there's levels to it. Right. He's really good and he's
getting better, and I'm rooting for that, and that's great,
but he's not at that level.

Speaker 2 (30:36):
To any other sport, right, Yeah, what happens as you
go from amateur to pros like even college to the
big leagues two from you know, there's always that step
that commanders sort of show you yesterday that they're not
at the Eagles level. Yet Hey, they're really good. It's
all about levels, levels. One more phone call?

Speaker 3 (30:55):
Who do we got, Michael Florida?

Speaker 1 (30:57):
Mike, what's up?

Speaker 7 (30:59):
Hey?

Speaker 8 (30:59):
What's up? I was born in nineteen seventy nine, so
I totally remember Mike Tyson. I did the whole punch out,
the whole thing. My question is, does Jake Paul benefit
from winning this fight because Mike Tyson is so beloved.
If he wins, does it hurt his brand or does
it benefiting brand?

Speaker 1 (31:19):
You know, I don't think it hurts his brand, you know,
even if he loses, and I get I get where
you're getting at. Even if he loses, he got out.
He got knocked out by Mike Tyson, I mean, and
he put his wave hos on the line, and it's
probably great publicity. As we go to Dan Byer, can
you just read the tweets our buddy Spot, our video
guy Spot sent us something Jake Paul. This is from Logan. Sorry,
Logan Paul said about his brother. Yeah, he just posted

(31:41):
on social media, my brother got slapped by Mike Tyson.
Fing iconic but a grave error. This fight just became
personal for Jake and personal for Mike. Yeah. I think
tomorrow's outcome will be utter devastation for Mike. The new
face of boxing will be crowned tomorrow. And that's Ache Paul.
That's a Logan Paul at his brother. Yeah, that's Logan. No, no, no,

(32:04):
he tagged Jake. I'm just reading. That's Logan talking about
his brother Jake, and man, this is a great trauma.
As Triple G used to say, drama show, drama show.
We love a drama show.

Speaker 9 (32:17):

Speaker 1 (32:30):
This welcome back to the show. This is my favorite part.
Is my favorite part. Everybody plays the air drums to
this bad boy.

Speaker 2 (32:37):
Yeah, I mean, Rich really brought Mike Tyson back into
the spotlight. To be honest, that's a fact.

Speaker 1 (32:43):
That's a fact. His only regret was I would throw
out of shape, but then he got in shape. But
now he's in great shape. Does that translate in the ring?
I mean, it doesn't hurt, but it doesn't necessarily mean
he's gonna win.

Speaker 2 (32:53):
Listen, we're gonna talk a lot of NFL for the
rest of the show, but to sort of rap on
the Tyson stuff.

Speaker 1 (32:58):
We don't even have to wrap this is It's huge
and we're leading right into it.

Speaker 2 (33:01):
No, no, no, I'm saying, yeah, we're going to continue
to talk about here and there. But I'm saying I'm
thinking about any other sport, right, Yeah, Well, I know
fighting is different in the octagon, in the ring, it's
a different world.

Speaker 1 (33:13):
It's a different world.

Speaker 2 (33:14):
But like you could see a young star player like
a Jayden Daniels or Bryce Young or a or a C. J.

Speaker 1 (33:21):
Stroud.

Speaker 2 (33:22):
You could say they're half the age of like a
Tom Brady, But Tom Brady is just a veteran that's
been there, a champion. Like I don't want to I
don't want to compare fighting in football, but I'm just saying, like,
are we downplaying the idea that Mike Tyson was one
of the most feared boxers ever even though he's fifty eight.
That's why I agree with Andre Ward, one of your
favorite fighters back in the day. This is impossible to predict.

(33:45):
I don't know how, Like, like every outcome I could
see happening. If you told me Mike Tyson knocks him out,
and be like, I could see that, if you told
me Jake Paul knocks out an old Mike Tyson, I
could see that.

Speaker 1 (33:54):
I could see every possible outcome. And that's why it's
interesting and that's why I were pumped. And we'll see
you see Rob Parker's take later tonight. He thinks, yeah,
he thinks this should never happen in first place. Rob
Parker went viral with his take yesterday. He he might
be right about that, but again, who are we to
stop Mike Tyson from doing what he wants to do.

(34:16):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 2 (34:17):
Rob Parker and Kelvin on the Odd Couple, they wolves
like over the last twenty four hours, like a million
hits on his take, which was this this fighttion happened,
and he thinks it's a shame that the boxing world
is letting it happen. And he hopes Mike Tyson gets
knocked out just to prove the point.

Speaker 1 (34:37):
That would be heartbreaking and could very well happen our hero.
Do you remember in our childhood we should say may
fall tonight? But I said this on our Patreon rich
and I'll say it again. I may have mentioned it
on Fox Sports Radio. You know, this is kind of
like saying, what do you mean, Michael Jordan's gonna play tonight? Yeah,
you know, we're seeing a legend do it. Maybe one

(35:00):
last time. If it's a good fight, we might see
it again. Who knows.

Speaker 2 (35:02):
Thinking of legends at the end, I'm thinking of like
seeing Joe Montana get hit badly for the last time,
or Jeter not being himself, or or like even in
your own life, do you remember the time where you
could easily whoop your dad's asking a sport or a game,
and you're like, oh, wow, we've.

Speaker 1 (35:18):
All seen our heroes fall. There goes my hero.

Speaker 2 (35:24):
All right, let's let's go rapid fire on the calls.
And then we got a lot of NFL fun together.
We got to do your big TV game of the week.

Speaker 1 (35:29):
Let's do that for sure. I was saying, who we got,
Jay Stu? What's up Andy?

Speaker 3 (35:34):
And Arlington says he's on his way to the game. Andy,
is that correct?

Speaker 1 (35:40):
The way you're on the way to fight?

Speaker 7 (35:42):
Oh yeah, me and my fiance is actually her birthday.
She actually was so interested in wanting to come out
to Dallas as it was.

Speaker 8 (35:48):
And the fight falling on her birthday.

Speaker 7 (35:50):
I planned it up perfectly. She's excited.

Speaker 9 (35:53):
I'm excited.

Speaker 8 (35:54):
It's you know, I'm Team Titan all the way. I'll
never forget ninety seven.

Speaker 7 (35:58):
I was only ten years old, so I'll try versus Holyfields.
My dad had ordered a pay per view. We had
a bunch of people at the house. It was amazing.
And one more thing too, Hey, Rich, don't tell me
he was at Steve Kabino's house kissing ass.

Speaker 8 (36:12):
Okay, he wasn't doing it.

Speaker 2 (36:13):
Oh, I was at Camino's family's house, kissing as why
kissing as he's trying to butter up my parents. Me,
that's a whole story in itself. Let me tell you this,
this guy he hit on something. I'm very interested what
the crowd breakdown in Arlington will be tonight. Is it
gonna be like a total Mike tizing crowd? Like when
they announced the fighters, like who's going to get the boots?

Speaker 1 (36:34):
Were recently we were.

Speaker 2 (36:35):
Recently at the Canelo Berlanga fight. Yeah, and it was
like eighty five fifteen, Yeah, Canelo.

Speaker 1 (36:41):
It's going to be mostly Mike. I don't know. There's
a lot of young influence. Is a very villain type
of guy. He's a heel if you will, but he
does have his fans, he does have his support. I
mean he's got millions of followers, super successful, but now
people are rooting for the old guy here for.

Speaker 2 (36:56):
Sure, it'll be my prediction, Rich seventy third good week
for older guys and guys especially in their forties. Is
he John Krasinski sexiest man? Maybe gives us hope Post
forty Coavino Rich live from retirec dot Com Studio. Who
do we got next?

Speaker 3 (37:13):
Let's see Matthew win Louisiana.

Speaker 1 (37:14):
Matthew, matt make it snappy. What's up man?

Speaker 8 (37:17):
Hey, how's it going?

Speaker 1 (37:18):
What's up?

Speaker 8 (37:19):
So two quick things.

Speaker 9 (37:20):
I'll just say, Uh, as far as Mike Tyson after
bugles Buster Douglas beat him, he pretty much never won again.

Speaker 7 (37:29):
I mean I kind of provided the roadmap.

Speaker 1 (37:31):
For how to beat him.

Speaker 8 (37:32):
So I'm assuming if Jake Paul competent and uh can
watch right, well we're.

Speaker 1 (37:37):
Gonna get to point two next. So Hank Tight, look,
he did win again, but was he ever the same again?
That's a fair state. That's a good one and a
lot of NFL. I promise you great Week eleven coming up.
Hank Tight could be known Rich
