We're gonna talk about brothers and letting your brothers win
in real life clearly in the NFL that's not happening.
And we're giving away prizes on the show today Shack Diesel,
Whack Diesel, stopping by Shack Diesel trivia, your chance to
win a Swiggy with the Swaggy plus random injuries. We

(01:36):
have lots to get to today again, I'm Covino, that
is rich. Let's hear it for super producer Danny je Hey,
I'm busy. Hey, how's it going. I'm mailing out older Yeah,
I got sweetees so Iowa. Sam is also here. Hello,
Hey Samuel, how are you? Danny's the Sweiggy Santa, Yes
he is, and Dan Byer the greatest in the game,

(02:01):
which your updates. Just hanging out. But as much as
we love you guys, we have a guy who runs
this place in the studio, but he also goes by
doctor Love true story. Who yeah, doctor Love. That's a
low gentleman, Big Mike Mike who runs this Mike runs
this place of him. I had to bring Big Mike
in because there's a question of love, and we know

(02:24):
that Mike dann Bayer' it's romance, right when you think
big Mike, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
I'll tell you what I don't think running this place,
that's what I don't think. But maybe love.

Speaker 1 (02:33):
I mean, when we started here about three years ago,
he let it be known that he ran this place.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
That was just be clear, just if you're tuning in
for the first time, he does not because he has
no authority whatsoever, well over anybody on these microphones right now.

Speaker 1 (02:47):
That was before he ran this place. He told us
he did a late night love show and he was
doctor Love. So we figured before we get into the
hardball ball and before we get into all the CNR
Greatness hast stories, I don't want to get them all
up on the air now. But there's a story involving
Gary Coleman Sea blocking him during a game of scrabble.

(03:07):
You don't want to bring that one up.

Speaker 3 (03:08):
There's there's wild stories about Mike's past.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
There are stories of supermarket sweep. He was a contestant
as Mike the Bear fact, that is a fact. So
he's a man with a lot of nicknames, a lot
of titles, and we bring you in, Mike, because we
love you and you run this place. But we need
a doctor love's advice because Rich in my opinion, it's
all I'm gonna say. I'm gonna let Rich speak his mind.
But Rich has a really creepy question from today's perspect

(03:35):
you set up you, yes, because I want my opinion
to be known right away.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (03:42):
Here at Fox Sports Radio, we are diagonal from the
Galleria in Sherman Oaks, California. That's where the Buffalo Wild
Wings is, That's where the gym is.

Speaker 3 (03:52):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
So if you ever want to rob Rich on his
way out, Yeah, if you want ever mug Daddy's stacks
over here, you know where to get Oh. Thanks, Now
I got to change gyms. Yeah. Now, every day when
I'm walking to the gym every day, who am I kidding?
Three days a week when I'm walking to the gym,
I pass a bus stop and for the second time

(04:16):
I've seen this very attractive girl at the bus stop,
hot Latina girl, business casual. And my first thought is
not many hawt girls take the bus. Well that is true.
M Come dude, I've had some fun with some bus
girls back in my day. Yeah, but there's a difference

(04:38):
of when you lived in New York and people take
public transportation by choice. Nah, if you're in LA and
someone's going to van, nice bro this girl's either broke
or has like a DWY that's my first guess, or
a woman of pure character that's like, I don't have
the money, but I I'm working hard, whatever it is.
I see this good looking girl but a bus stop,

(04:59):
and I thought, if you're a single guy, is there
any possible approach? What you could say? What are you
taking the bus? I'll drive you home.

Speaker 3 (05:12):
Okay, So first off, you're not a single guy. Let's
get that. Not a single guy.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
I was imagining it with two guy. So what he's saying, rich,
is that you shouldn't even be thinking about these things
in the first place. You creep.

Speaker 3 (05:25):
Yeah, there's that's number one. Number two, your misogyny is showing.
Oh my goodness, I gotta tell you to equate attractiveness
with somehow being able to have the monetary means to
take a bus or to have your own car and
not have to take a bus, or somehow or another
by being attractive, you should gain some sort of magical.

Speaker 1 (05:49):
True you looking girls don't take the bus Mike said,
you have to be a troll, okay to take the bus.

Speaker 3 (05:55):
Well, I'm what Steve, because Steve said earlier cove Cove
told us that he's I had some fun with some
bust girl.

Speaker 1 (06:01):
I have, I have a girl, a few girls in
my phone saved for my single days of course as
bus girl.

Speaker 3 (06:07):
See, so that's really the issue to start off with
your misogyny, your shop.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
But to the question at hand, yes, I'm.

Speaker 3 (06:16):
Actually okay with it. Wow, I actually think that if
you are not a creep and you were to establish
a bit of rapport with this individual before, like if
you were to just roll up never having seen her before,
never spoken to her before, well yeah that's yeah, get
back in your van, bro and drive on. But uh,

(06:37):
if you can manage to establish a little bit of
a rapport, then after a while, I don't think that
would be inappropriate after a while.

Speaker 1 (06:44):
These are all important elements. Yes, and switch his creepiness,
you know, in check correct, because he didn't say that
he saw this girl and he had this weird fantasy
of driving up if he was single, of course, meet me,
want to ride? From today's perspective, got to keep this
in mind. From today's perspective where ninety percent of relationships
begin online or dating apps and things like that. This

(07:05):
is stranger danger where you're the creepiest guy in town.
You have to be I understand, you have to understand
and know your own creep factor, but not everybody does.
Not everybody does. All this is a fact. But then again,
how you look plays a factor because we all know
women will be the first to tell you. A good
looking guy and a weird looking guy could do the

(07:27):
same thing, and it's either, oh my god, he's sweet
versus weird ass.

Speaker 3 (07:31):
Yeah, but yeah, no, no, no, it's not a good looking
guy versus a weird looking guy. It's a well dressed
it's a well kempt guy. Somebody who's taking care of
well kempt. It's different.

Speaker 1 (07:42):
I wouldn't want number one. I'm the father of a
teenage girl, and my first I would be like you
out of your mind getting in the car with some stranger.
What do you think his intention was? Well, you think
he wanted to just take you home and be a
good dude. Use your brain no matter what.

Speaker 4 (07:58):
Its creeps creep all the way every day. Well, because
women these days cannot take that chance. No matter how
nice you look, no matter how good looking your car
is or any of that stuff. There a strange guy
walks up to a woman these days, she's immediately on
her guard.

Speaker 3 (08:16):
You already lost?

Speaker 1 (08:17):
Yeah, I mean, do I understand? I can't play naive
to the thought process and to the fact that I
think I would be a good guy to drive this
girl home. But I would be the first to tell
you that it wouldn't be out of the kindness of
my heart. It would be to get to know her.

Speaker 3 (08:33):
Right in what way?

Speaker 1 (08:34):
Yeah? And in all kinds of way though. So here's
what I came to the This is my answer. If
you're a single guy, and if you did see an
attractive she's all business dress, you're looking good. And by
the way, every day all of us are gonna be
looking at that bus stop right here on the corner
just to see what he's talking about.

Speaker 3 (08:50):
How hot?

Speaker 1 (08:51):
Was this? My meat to inspire all these thoughts and listen,
it was a fun deep thought to start the show
before we get into NFL and Chack Diesel trivia and
all the stuff. My thought was this, Now, if you
were to see the same person every day or so,
let's say the first time you see her and you're like, oh, hey,
I like your I like your Jordan's or hey, I
like your bag. Some small talker, hey, how are you?

(09:13):
If you had small talk a few times, I think
by time three you could say hey, by the way,
I'm where are you ahead? Because I'll drive you if
you want.

Speaker 3 (09:23):
I still say it. I still don't think it's gonna work.

Speaker 1 (09:26):
I think what about this, and I agree with what
rich has said. Those are forced encounters, meaning you're setting
it up, but you're letting it play out, like, Oh,
I know she's there, I've seen her a few times. Now,
I'm going to force this encounter, build some camaraderie before
I make the move and the gesture. That's fine, that's
fair game. It sounds like grooming, right.

Speaker 2 (09:48):
I'm just like, if you're like, truly like for what
she's probably thinking, like, I don't think that you realize
how wide the river is of why I.

Speaker 1 (09:57):
Must give you a ride, Like back in the two thousand,
since Steve Cavino went to the same store at the
mall and meaninglessly bought like Armani Exchange T shirts because
a hawker will work there, just so he could get
the report and finally be like kill, let's hang building
up the courage. Hey, I'm the guy to shops here. Hey,
but that was like out of that trying to be

(10:17):
sweet the year two thousand, right, also the year.

Speaker 3 (10:21):
Totally different error and you're absolutely right, dann bar one
hundred percent.

Speaker 1 (10:26):
Let me guess this then. So let's say single guy
sees attractive, put together girl at the bus stop. What
are you doing at the bus stop?

Speaker 3 (10:32):
Right?

Speaker 1 (10:33):
What if he after a couple times of how do
you do rapport? He's like, I see you here all
the time? Yo, what what's your Instagram? Let's follow each other,
and then he slides into the DMS like, Yo, when
you're at the bus stop, I'll drive you. Now you're
speaking there today language a little more. You got to
get to know him on social media. Yeah, Like from
our old school perspective, what you're doing, what you're thinking

(10:54):
is fine and understandable, right, But from today's young woman
on her come up in her little business suit, getting
ready to go to work or coming back wherever she
was coming from, yeah, she's thicking you're a weirdo because
they don't even communicate in person anymore.

Speaker 3 (11:10):
And it's got to be place appropriate to the bus
stop is not the place where somebody's going to be
expecting that kind of behavior. Somebody's not supposed to be
picking up on you, Mike.

Speaker 1 (11:20):
Call me judgmental. Ninety percent of people the bus stop
or mutants. I mean the fact. So this girl probably
already feels a little at a place to begin with.
You're her white knight baby. In the movie Rich is
like my Arsel in distress with the Diehard references. A man, man,

(11:41):
you just made my mind going a million different directions
right there. So Fox Sports Radio Nation, as they used
to say, old school NFL, you make the call Rich,
she's an attractive my meet down the bus stop. A yeah, yea,
I ah, yes me. Oh. He snaps his neck and

(12:01):
he thinks to himself, would it be creepy if I
offered her a ride if I was single? Of course,
I'm not saying yeah. But this is you thinking you're
the most charming fella in town. No, no, no, look,
I think me at my best. I think I'm a
good candidate to run this game to back in the day,

(12:22):
both of you.

Speaker 3 (12:24):
And Rich.

Speaker 1 (12:31):
Rich. This is Rich coming from I'm the greatest guy.
Oh God, not everybody is coming from that place where
they would get the same results maybe as you would.
I would not recommend this to many Put it that way,
I would not recommend this move to many people. I
was Sam, I wanted to go outside about four o'clock.

(12:51):
There's a girl at the bus stop. I gotta see
a picture. Now, I gotta see this girl. This is
the same time he brought this up. Today, she would
say this to me.

Speaker 3 (12:59):
Wait, now we're we're taking pictures.

Speaker 1 (13:02):
No, not taking pictures, not doing any of that. I'm
just saying. It crossed my mind because you know, you
have these hypotheticals in your head because we were all
single once. Yeah, but again in a different time where
maybe that was a little more acceptable than it is today.
People do not really communicate in those same ways. That's

(13:23):
how we met people. We met people out and about
walking around at the mall. You mentioned the mall, at
the store, at the bar. You saw the moving chart
just the other day. What were the stats the moving
you know those like fun Instagram moving charts. It showed
how people meet each other and it used to be
like friends and family, church all the now and you know, bars, restaurants, clubs.

(13:45):
Over the last twenty years, online went from the bottom
of the pile to eighty percent of youngsters. Yeah, so
young people. A young woman at the bus stop, attractive man,
You're coming from another era with those lines in your car.
I get strategies. Do change life changes fast? Think think
of everything, right, I think of how people meet. You

(14:07):
want to tie it into sports, Cavino, Sure, think think
of all the changes we've seen in the last twenty
years in sports. You don't think there's changes in the
dating world. Come on, you know, and you brought up
something about taking pictures. We get social media, you said.
People just exist in that world more than ever. A
guy's in in the middle of contract negotiations, what does
he immediately do wipe his previous team from his Instagram?

(14:29):
Those those are online baby games. People operate in social
media more so than real life. Now, that's why. So
when you bring up this real life scenario, I think
ninety nine point nine percent of the people are going
to strike out unless you're handsome Dan or Gaston, some
sort of ladies man. Yeah, the lady man. I think
you're going to fail miserably and you're gonna come off

(14:50):
as a creep. You make the call eight seven, seven
ninety nine on Fox or hit us up at Covino
and Rich. You heard Doctor Love's take on it. If
your intentions are good, hey man, you you take your shot,
You shoot your shot right, But based on what you're saying,
and we'll move on a second. But I do find
that you're creating fact. I do find this interesting in

(15:10):
twenty twenty four. Does it make it seem like meeting
someone at the supermarket, at the store, at like out
and about at a ballgame? Is in person just a
weird way to meet someone, so much so that it
would catch someone off guard. Yes, especially a young person
like what you talking to the gym, a football game,

(15:32):
a tailgate with Sunday football watching at the bar. That's
not how people meet anymore.

Speaker 3 (15:36):
That's anymore. And I'm crazy right. One of the reasons
I am I am qualified to be Doctor Love is
a wonderful twenty five year plus long mariage there.

Speaker 5 (15:45):
It is.

Speaker 3 (15:45):
Recently we met at a bar. No lie, you know
that's how it used to go. He just had like
Joe Biden, no lie, man, no lie, I'm talking to
you man, no lie, Yeah, your thoughts and we move
to the NFL.

Speaker 1 (16:00):
We moved to the NBA, but hey, your feedback welcomed
eight seven, seven, nine nine on Fox. And by the way,
that's Mike who runs this place every Yeah, Mikes his place.

Speaker 4 (16:11):
Now.

Speaker 1 (16:12):
We also talked to Mike about sibling rivalry, and Mike
was pretty adamant that what was the expression you stomp,
You stomp on them, You stomp them to the ground.

Speaker 3 (16:22):
Yeah, and you keep stomping. That's what you do to
your brothers.

Speaker 1 (16:25):
Because we read, well, we know that the hardball ball
was yesterday and John is now three and zero over Jim,
and it just brought on the thought of, well, you
got to know Jim was really wanting just one wind mean, no,
he will nobody wanted the one that mattered the most.
Oh yeah, of course when the forty nine ers lost

(16:46):
the super but you still want to win, right, And
they talked about it. They're brothers and they're a great
example of just really good and competitive brothers. They don't
want any sort of breaks. They want to go at
it as brothers would. But in real life it got
us thinking about the sibling rivalries and just coming up.
We all have siblings, most of us here. You ever

(17:09):
let your brother win, do you ever have that mentality
or do you keep them in their place, which is
also like a gross mentality. I have a few stories
that make me scratch my head. I think you gotta
give your siblings some grace, but you still beat them.
I'm not saying you let them win unless they're significantly younger.
And even in that I've never done. I'm eighteen years

(17:31):
older than my brother. I still to this day never
let them win. Look at it this way. I look
at letting your sibling win the same way I look
at keeping score and children sports. There comes an age
where it matters, and I've developed the theory that that's
eight to ten years old. My kids are seven and four.

(17:52):
Sometimes I'll tell my daughter, Hey, your little brother's four,
you're seven. Give them a chance. Now you get older,
that ideology's out the window. But when your kids, should
you really be that competitive with your siblings, even professionally, Like,
shouldn't you just be happy for their success? You're not

(18:14):
trying to beat them still in life? Are you?

Speaker 5 (18:16):
Like?

Speaker 1 (18:16):
In life? This is a game we're talking about the
hardball ball yesterday again the Ravens. It was a close
game till it wasn't. In the fourth quarter, Ravens pulled away.
They ended up winning thirty twenty three. Ravens eight and
four Chargers now seven and four. People today picking on
the Chargers pretty hardcore on social media. But it got
us thinking. And there's a lot of other sibling rivalries

(18:37):
that we'll discuss and bring up. But do you ever
let them win? Do you ever let them win? And
should you be competing in that way? You know, there's
a great there's a great clip if you want to
look around. You know the broadcaster Ben Verlander who works
for MLB. Correct, Yeah, he's great. Love I love the
stuff he does on social media. Ben Verlander. It's Justin

(18:57):
Verlander's brother. He played ball himself. Younger brother never made
it to obviously the levels of Justin Verlander, but I
believe it was a spring training game and he got
one at bat against his brother. Ever ever, and his
brother is already you know, big time established cy young
award winning World Series champion, and Ben Verlander hit a
home run off his brother his one at bat. I

(19:19):
thought it was so cool, but you see that, here's
what makes that different. Justin Verlander is like a legend.
So Ben finally getting one chance to shine in that moment.
That's like Seth Curry beating Steph just one time where
it mattered, you know, like it doesn't matter. It's just
a feel good story. Should you really want to beat

(19:43):
your brother or do you just root for your brother?
We'll take your your brother examples. We'll talk a little
bit about last night's Monday Night football. Chargers and Ravens
likely both AFC playoff teams, so we'll talk litle NFL.
We'll talk brothers, and if you have thoughts on bus girl,
I would love to hear you. I guts to see
this girl. So the numbers eight, seven, seven, nine to

(20:04):
nine on Fox. You got more Covene on Rich Live

We tire buying should be standing on a bus stop,

(21:15):
sick at a second a lollipop whoa ll licking his lips,
rich sawing around the way girl and thought he could
be her hero, her savior. Oh dude, I was walking
back for the gym. I saw a good looking girl
at the bus stop and I said, if I was,
if I was a single guy, is there a way
to go to the girl at the bus stop and

(21:38):
be like, you know, what are you taking the bus
for I'll drive you without being creepy. Was she wearing
a new addition Bobby Brown button on her sleeve. No,
she was not, but shating around the way girl. We
got calls about that, and then we talked hardball ball
last night, mothernight football. So we got calls on ball.
So let's go rapid fire. Let's talk busgirl first. Your
buscro question is interesting, but it's a generational difference if

(22:00):
we were living in the year two thousand or in
the late nineteen hundreds. There's no shame in your game
from today's perspective. Rich, I think it's a little outdated
and you have to be an exceptional person to make
this move and half success. Oh that's my point, agreed,
I think the current move again we came to the

(22:21):
conclusion of but again to tie back to sports, Wayne
Gretzky said, you miss one hundred percent of the shots
you don't take true, So shoot your shot true. See
that that angel at a bus stop. My point the
final point was in twenty twenty four, the move might
be small talk somehow, get the Instagram or what's your snapchat?
Snapchat or something right, and then if you see her again,

(22:45):
there you go, but it is a little weird, like, listen,
I'm a girl, dad, you got sisters. I have a sister.
You wouldn't want her get in some random dude's car.
Back in the day. I would have pulled that move
today if I was a single guy. No way, Scott
ms hurry online one he wants to chime in, what's up?
Scott hey?

Speaker 3 (23:02):
Scott hey?

Speaker 6 (23:04):
All right?

Speaker 7 (23:04):
So with the move here is you ride the bus
and sit close enough to her and take a fake
phone call saying what my car is going to be
in the shop for a week, and that gives you
five opportunities to kind of chat her up and get
her DM and then.

Speaker 1 (23:20):
Rich ends up in the Mario asking me to pick
him up. I'm here, I'm lost in in downtown l Yeah,
help help. Let's go to Saga, Saga in Oxnard. What's up, dude, day?
What's up?

Speaker 3 (23:37):
Fellas?

Speaker 1 (23:37):
What's up?

Speaker 8 (23:38):
I'm trying to just get my head out of the
gunner here really quick. I think that I think that, yeah,
you want this generational is different. I think the creepiest
thing you could do is actually what the laft guy
said is get on the bus and follow ups where
she's going to figure out I'm stalking.

Speaker 1 (23:57):
Just innoctantly gives up doing a recon green boat. Thank you, Brow.
Now back to the They make Netflix shows about people
like that. It's called You. They see the show You,
Joe Goldberg. So last night, be a gentleman. Everybody, Hard
bomb Bowl, Hard bomb ball. John's got the upper hands
three to nothing so far, one the most has Lamar Jackson.

(24:22):
I am one hundred and seventy seven yards two tuddies.
Henry ran for one hundred and forty yards. But you
know it was a close game until until Justice still
ran for fifty one yards. Yeah, that's really it went
a nice nice uh backup running back to Derrick Henry.
He did get the upper hand in the Super Bowl

(24:42):
New Orleans. Last time it was there, forty nine Ers
lost to the Ravens. Remember that game was twenty eight
to six and then uh my head knocked out the lights.
Remember Beyonce's halftime show, and then the Niners had that
big comeback but fell just short. Come on, Craptree still
bent about that, but yeah, yeah Harbaugh, John owns Jim.
So we're talking about letting your siblings win, Like what

(25:05):
when it comes to sibling rivalry. If you're the youngest
of the oldest, I'll tell you what, I'm the oldest.
My siblings probably hate how many WWF wrestling moves I
put them in. My brother has every right to punch
me in the face when he sees me because I
mostly giving him sharpshooters, figure four, leg lock suplex's ddts
Danny g You you got those battles with your siblings.

Speaker 9 (25:24):
Oh, my older brother used to test out all of
his boxing and wrestling moves on me. I mean there
in one time in the backyard, there was like a
little rock pile because my mom had this project she
wanted to get to, like I'm gonna.

Speaker 1 (25:37):
Put the rocks down, man.

Speaker 9 (25:39):
No, it served as something my older brother would just
slam me on top of and he one time he yelled,
I'm rowdy, roddy piper, and he like slammed me on
my back onto the pile of rocks.

Speaker 1 (25:50):
I used to get didy with my brothers and uh
and the soils in the streets of New York and
we worked yet a white todd for my mother's tension. Guys,
I killed them both, guys like me and you vic
guys is not built for me and my brother So
I killed penguin. Go into your head, penguin man, all
you want to do that Penguin, let's just say, didn't

(26:12):
have a good relationship with his brothers. I brought that up, Danny.
All I want to do is talk like Colin Farrell
is the penguin. Yeah, Danny, g Guys like you and
meet we got to work hard. But the world's not
built me and you, vic, me and you Vick. It's
not set up for successful guys like you want to.
I mean, I love my brothers. I love them, but
you know, let's go no, no, But I want to
bring it one more story.

Speaker 3 (26:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (26:32):
Yeah, I feel like the Harbam brothers have a really
healthy relationship like a lot of you see a lot
of brothers in sports. They probably motivate each other and
they're rooting for each other. The Kelsey brothers right, rooting
for each other. Ripkins always felt like they were tired. Yeah,
and even though you know Cow is a legend, they
seem to be tight. Jason speaks so highly of Travis.
He was saying how it sucked to play them because

(26:55):
Travis was so good, right, and that Travis had the
best of them. But you know, I'm so proud of his.
You see a lot of healthy relationships, but then you
see like unhealthy relationships. I saw him, or at least
they appeared to be that way. I saw Aery Spears,
remember comedian Aery Spears. He used to be on our show,
Good Dude. I saw him interviewing Tony Rock and he

(27:16):
said to Tony Rock, and I used to say this
to Charlie Murphy all the time, Eddie Murphy's your brother.
How come you're not in any Eddie Murphy movies? Man?
And you know Charlie would have no answers for that.
She goes, So I ask you, Tony, Chris is your brother.
Chris is your brother, Why aren't you in any Chris
Rock movies? There's so many movies where Chris Rock has

(27:38):
a brother, it's never Tony Rock. And Tony Rock is
also a hard working comedian looking for a break. And
Tony shrugged his shoulders because he doesn't want to disparage
his brother, but he basically said that he thinks Chris
wishes he wasn't in the business. And Chris, in a
weird way without saying it, wants to keep his brother. Damn.

(28:00):
It's as simple as that he wants to be the
top dog and wants to keep him down, but he
doesn't want to help him. I was gonna say, I
don't know if he wants to keep him down, but
he does not want to help him in the business
of help. He's not in the business helping him. He
and Tony Rock's like he made it very clear, like
I don't want to ask my brother for favors. I
love my brother. There's been moments where I've been crushed
because I thought he was gonna look out for me

(28:20):
and he didn't. You know, when you think of a
movie set, think of how many ancillary characters are there.
You can't fit your brother into it. It's like it's
like when Danny g wasn't getting help from Warrangy. Right, thankfu,
your brother Kenny helped you out. Ye got you in radio.
Let's go to Stuart in Waco. Line four sibling rivalry.
Do you let your do you look out for your siblings?

(28:42):
Do you let him win? Let him win just for
the confidence builder? How do you handle that? All?

Speaker 3 (28:47):
Right?

Speaker 6 (28:47):
So you know John owns Jim and Stuart owns Brian.
I grew up in Barboro, North Dakota, and when I'd
come home from college, I bring college soccer teammates with me.
And even before that, I'd play mercy with my little brother.
I'm seven years older than him. I remember being home
one time. He's like fifteen, I'm in my early twenties,
and you know, going at it, trying to flex each

(29:08):
other's hands back and forth, and I finally get him
to give and I walk away with a buddy going, man,
I don't know if I can do that against him again. Well,
he goes on to be a professional bodybuilder and west
Side blocks, you know, student of that, that approach, and
I think you just got to appreciate even if you're
not holding him down, you want to stay on top.
And I've never played mercy with him again. He's a

(29:30):
he's a big dude. I'm happy to get to share
that story.

Speaker 1 (29:33):
No, I'm glad you did. I think it's like the
coming of age, you know, when the first time you're like,
I think I really genuinely beat my dad in a race,
or I played twenty one at the school yard, and like,
how about can did I beat that? Did I beat that?
For real? What did he let me win. But there's
many other people in the world that you could beat
on and humiliate and you know, gain confidence over your brother.

(29:55):
Shouldn't be that you're supposed to lift each other. Like
the klitsch brothers, the Klitchkow brothers brought the best out
in each other, and they refuse to fight for their mother.
They're like, we're never gonna fight each other, all right,
Who's Who's that a cool way to handle it, Like, Yo,
we're gonna, we're gonna, we're gonna sc scramble, we're gonna,
we're gonna spar but we're not gonna fight each other
because we love our mom and we root for each other. Right,

(30:17):
answer this then, and they'll vote for great and we'll
go to the side. We'll go to the rest of
the phone calls once you tell me all right, because
I don't think it's an easy answer. Kill my brothers.
I killed them. See, while you're giving away potlines, I'm
not there. I'm only up to episode five.

Speaker 3 (30:31):
VIC.

Speaker 1 (30:32):
There's guys like you and me and the world's I'm
made for us, you know the I'm speculating about the
pain hanguin on HBO Max Special on TV. Anyway, Logan
or Jake Paul is very clear that's the more popular
successful brother or do you look at them as like
man pretty later, but you know there's a sibling rivalry,
but they root for each other for as dysfunctional as

(30:53):
that relationship could be. I think it's pretty it's pretty
great at the same time because they got each other's back.
I mean, Jake Paul, it's fighting Mike Tyson in the ring.
But then again, Logan Paul fort Foot made where the drie.
We say Logan was the more successful until the past
year plus. Now Jake's really making a name for himself.

(31:15):
All right, So the hardball ball, do you ever let
siblings win? John has not taken it easy on Jim.
He's three and zero. We'll take your phone calls. But
we got to hear from Dan Byern DB's hanging out
with the updates.

Speaker 5 (31:27):
D me.

Speaker 1 (31:28):
What's up guys?

Speaker 2 (31:29):
Some college basketball that gets you caught up on right
now and Maui. Yesterday, Yukon was upset in the quarterfinals.
Today they're in a dog fight with Colorado second ring.
Kusky's up seventy two seventy one with just seconds remaining.
Colorado does have the basketball and in fact, Colorado has
just taking a seventy three seventy two lead, so Danny

(31:52):
Hurley will be taking a time out.

Speaker 1 (31:54):
I was gonna say, well, I thought we were about
to see the final five seconds. They call the time out,
they'll have to talk it over.

Speaker 2 (32:01):
Seventy three seventy two buffs over the Huskies right now
in Maui. Earlier today, San Diego State took out number
twenty one Creightons seventy one to fifty three. I love
this week because of all the college basketball. We get
number twenty Texas A and M on top of Oregon
right now as they play in Las Vegas at the half,
thirty two to twenty nine.

Speaker 1 (32:19):
Now on to the NFL.

Speaker 2 (32:21):
The traffic citations given to Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill
prior to kickoff of their opening game in September. We're
dismissed today after the officers involved in the incident did
not show up in court. Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers says
he hasn't made a final decision on his future just yet,
making these comments to the Pat McAfee show.

Speaker 10 (32:38):
I've really enjoyed my time in New York. I mean,
obviously we haven't had success that we've all wanted to have.
But you know, I've made some great friendships on the team,
and I came here to win here, So I'm not
jumping off ship, you know, Like, Oh, I definitely want
to play and not in New York. I don't even
know if I want to play yet, but New York
will be my first option command here.

Speaker 2 (32:57):
Yeah, Commander's place kicker Austin Vibert uninjured reserve Chiefs kicker
Spencer Schrader misspractice today with a hamstring strain. Remember they've
got a short week as well, with the Raiders coming
to town on Friday, so his status up in the air.
Mac Brown will not return next season as the head
coach at North Carolina fired today, but the seventy three
year old is expected to coach in Saturday's game against

(33:20):
NC State. TarHeels are six and five, but it's not
known if Brown would coach the bowl game if the
tar Heels accept one and bollsguard Lonzo Ball could play
tomorrow for the first time in a month against the
Magic as he tries to return from a wrist injury.
Hawks fined one hundred thousand dollars for violating the league's
player Participation policy two weeks ago. I tried to get
as much in and have this timeout be over, but

(33:43):
it's now finally over in Nali, So five point nine.

Speaker 1 (33:46):
We have five seconds on dB. I mean, we're gonna
wait to see what happens in these five seconds. Colorado
up seventy three, seventy two. We'll see what happens here.
They're inbounding, so we'll see what happens. And Danny Bayer
mentioned Danny Hurley, brother of of Bobby right, So that's
some sibling rivalry there. It's ova it over, ime.

Speaker 2 (34:05):
Over, Yukhon missed. The three could not get the rebound,
goes out of bounds. They're zero and two in Molly,
Colorado improves to five and one. Overall, we leave is over.
Thank you, Dan Buyer, Thanks you're the man.

Speaker 1 (34:18):
Thank you dB. We'll take the rest of your feedback.
Next on sibling rivalry, a La the Harbhall Ball. We'll
get to Shack Diesel trivia and more NFL fun. Next
right here on Covino and Rich getting some holidays shopping

(36:49):
we're gonna do some whack Diesel Shack Diesel Trivia your
chance to win a Swiggy and we're gonna talk random
injuries if we have time, but we're talking sibling rivalry.
But the question here, based on the Harbor Ball, is
do you ever let your other sibling win? Do you
take it easy on them?

Speaker 3 (37:08):
Brother?

Speaker 1 (37:10):
Speaking of brothers, rich, wasn't that one of the Murphy's
was that Eddie Murphy? Yes, Norbit g and had that
dollar in my pocket made Terry Crews was one of
the brothers, and he served Norbit the nerdy brother Turkey ass.
It's the best part they gave him because they picked
on their goofy brother. That's all they left for them.

Speaker 7 (37:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (37:33):
So yeah, John is three and oer over Jim and
the Harbor ball? Do you ever take it? Obviously not
in the NFL and at this level do you ever
take it easy on your brother in life? But you
always root for your brother? You still deep down trying
to compete and beat your brother. Not to not trying
to make light of this, but I just speaking of brothers.
The top story on TMZ Sports today is that the

(37:56):
Menendez brothers are gonna be watching all the games in
jail on Thanksgiving like it's their treat. They're allowed to
eat all the fixings and they get access in prison
to all the NFL games. You know, maybe it's a
prospective thing, meaning I'm the older brother, right, so same,
I just always beat my brother. Maybe if you're the

(38:19):
younger brother, you always have that drive and desire the
one day I'm gonna beat him. I'm gonna get him.
I want to beat him. Maybe it's the younger brother
theory maybe where you always just want to beat your
older brother. I think a lot of times the older
brother is in the head of the younger brother, right
because even if my younger brother's better than me at something,
if I play him a lot of times, I'll win pool, darts,

(38:40):
and you know anytime you get ping pong at my
dad's house, because my brother will get into the mindset
of like I'm a little brother. Yeah. Right at this
stage of the game, I think my brother he's such
a monster. I think he probably beat me in most things.
But that's it sucks for him because I retired, you know,
before he got too good. No, I'm not playing it anything.
Byron in Mississippi will takewo quick phone calls and then

(39:02):
have a thought on Aaron Rodgers based on Dan Buyer's update,
what's up, Byron?

Speaker 3 (39:06):
What's up?

Speaker 1 (39:06):
Man?

Speaker 5 (39:07):
Hey Horry?

Speaker 8 (39:08):
All Dan, we're good man.

Speaker 1 (39:09):
Let's tell you mine.

Speaker 5 (39:10):
So I just want to talk about sibling rivalry. I'm
an old Miss Rebel and it's not brother, but my
little sister is a Mississippi State Bulldog. So the ultimate
sibling rivalry in our household is the egg ball. And
so we talk about, you know, letting the other team win.
The past three years, it's gone. We've won and then
State took it home, and then we won last year.
So I'm wonder in based on how the Old Miss
Rebels football team has been performing these past few games. Unfortunately,

(39:34):
probably not going to make the playoff this year, if
they're gonna let State win this game. You know, I'm
super excited for this game coming up on Friday. You know,
my sister's doing great at State and I'm blessed to
call Ole Miss my home. But ultimately, at the end
of the day, this is the biggest sibling rivalry and
probably the biggest rivalry in college football.

Speaker 4 (39:51):
I said it.

Speaker 5 (39:52):
I don't think Michigan and Ohio State hold a candle
army namies up there, but this really defines rivalry in
our household.

Speaker 1 (39:59):
By the way, speak to Mississippi. Thank you buddy. The
Mannings do you look at them as a rivalry or
do you look at them as like two guys at
set of Poke fun of Tom Brady together, three guys.
Oh yeah, Arch Manning. Yeah, I think you know they.
I know, Cooper Manning, Cooper Manning. They all wanted to
keep that family name going. And Eli paved his own

(40:19):
way and has his own legacy. Two Super Bowl MVPs,
beating Tom Brady, all those things. So look, he's not Peyton,
but he still did his own thing. He did his thing,
and I think that's all you really want. Harley in Virginia,
what's up? Man? Wrapping up? Hey Harley, Hey guys, how
you doing.

Speaker 12 (40:36):
Thanks for taking my call.

Speaker 3 (40:37):
No problem.

Speaker 12 (40:39):
I just had a different perspective.

Speaker 8 (40:41):
Older brother.

Speaker 12 (40:42):
I was born in ninety one. I got a brother
that was born in ninety three and then ninety six.
In twenty twenty one, I lost my you know, closest
in age brother. So now it's like, thank you guys. Now,
it's like, you know, when he was with me, it
was two the now we you know, we were fighting

(41:05):
about everything and always trying to get the upper hand
on him. Now, I just have a different perspective, you know,
wishing I would have had that older brother, you know,
sometimes let him win.

Speaker 1 (41:16):
But of course that's a really cool story.

Speaker 5 (41:20):
You know.

Speaker 1 (41:20):
I'm sad to hear that, man, but the perspective was
great to hear. And it's really interesting because even if
you have a healthy outlook on everything, John still has this.
I beat Jim three times, he still has that. And Jim,
no matter what I mentioned, always think it. You mentioned
that before with the Kelsey brothers facing each other. I

(41:41):
always think of the bosas like, you know, is there
a competition like yo, which BOS is better? Exactly? There's
there's under lying just because when you're cut from a
competitive cloth, h and your siblings, it's always going to
be there. So hey, hopefully you enjoyed your Monday night
football and thanks for the phone call, man, I appreciate you.
Now coming up got shacked diesel trivia and I thought

(42:02):
about Aaron Rodgers that I think you might disagree with,
So hang tight. Mor Covine and Rich Fox Sports Radio Tuesday.
