Speaker 1 (00:22):
Before we get into the Hardball Bowl and before we
get into all the CNR, I'm greatness. Mike has stories.
I don't want to give them all up on the
air now. But there's a story involving Gary Coleman Sea
blocking him during a game of scrabble. You don't want
to bring that one up.
Speaker 2 (00:37):
There's there's wild stories about Mike's.
Speaker 3 (00:39):
Past, the stories of Supermarket Sweep.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
He was a contestant as Mike the Bear.
Speaker 3 (00:47):
Fact.
Speaker 1 (00:47):
That is a fact. So he's a man with a
lot of nicknames, a lot of titles. And we bring
you in, Mike because we love you and you run
this place. But we need a doctor Love's advice because Rich,
in my opinion, here's all I'm gonna say. I'm gonna
let Rich speak his mind. But Rich has a really
creepy question from today's perspective you set up as you Yes,
because I want my opinion to be known right away.
Speaker 2 (01:09):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (01:10):
Here at Fox Sports Radio, we are diagonal from the
Galleria in Sherman Oaks, California. That's where the Buffalo Wild
Wings is, That's where the gym is.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
So if you ever want to rob Rich on his
way out the freak stacks. Yeah, if you want ever
mug daddy stacks over here, you know where to get Oh.
Speaker 2 (01:30):
Thanks, Now I got to change gyms. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:33):
Now, every day when I'm walking to the gym every day,
who am I kidding? Three days a week when I'm
walking to the gym, I pass a bus stop and
for the second time I've seen this very attractive girl
at the bus stop, hot Latina girl, business casual. And
(01:54):
my first thought is, not many hawkgirls take the bus.
Speaker 2 (01:57):
Well, that is true.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
Mm, come dude, I've had some fun with some bus
girls back in my day. Yeah, but there's a difference
of when you lived in New York and people take
public transportation by choice.
Speaker 4 (02:11):
Nah.
Speaker 1 (02:12):
If you're in LA and someone's on the bus going
to Van Nye, bro this girl's either broke or has
like a dwy that's my first guess or a woman
of pure character. That's like, I don't have the money,
but I I'm working hard, whatever it is. I see
this good looking girl but a bus stop, and I thought,
if you're a single guy, is there any possible approach
(02:35):
where you could say, what are you taking the bus?
Speaker 2 (02:39):
I'll drive you home.
Speaker 3 (02:41):
Okay, So first off, you're not a single guy. Let's
get that guy.
Speaker 2 (02:46):
I was imagining it with two thousand guy.
Speaker 1 (02:49):
So what he's saying, rich, is that you shouldn't even
be thinking about these things in the first place.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
You creep.
Speaker 3 (02:54):
Yeah, that's number one. Number two, your misogyny is showing.
Oh my goodness, I gotta tell you to equate attractiveness
with somehow being able to have the monetary means to
take a bus, or to have your own car and
not have to take a bus, or somehow or another.
By being attractive, you should gain some sort of magical.
Speaker 2 (03:18):
True you're looking girls don't take the bus byke to
take the bus.
Speaker 3 (03:24):
Well, I'm with Steve because Steve said earlier Cove told
us that he's had some fun with some busgirl.
Speaker 5 (03:30):
I have.
Speaker 1 (03:30):
I have a girl, A few girls in my phone
saved for my single days.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
Of course as bus girl.
Speaker 3 (03:35):
See, so that's really the issue to start off with
your misogyny show.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
But to the question at hands, yes, I'm.
Speaker 3 (03:45):
Actually okay with it. Wow. I actually think that if
you are not a creep and you were to establish
a bit of rapport with this individual before, like if
you were to just roll up never having seen her before,
never spoken to Yeah, that's yeah, get back in your van,
bro and drive on. But if you can manage to
(04:06):
establish a little bit of a rapport, then after a while,
I don't think that would be inappropriate. After a while.
Speaker 1 (04:12):
These are all important elements and switch his creepiness, you know,
in check correct, because he didn't say that he saw
this girl and he had this weird fantasy of driving
up if he was single. Of course, meet me, want
to ride? From today's perspective, got to keep this in mind.
From today's perspective, where ninety percent of relationships begin online
or dating apps and things like that, this is stranger
(04:36):
danger where you're the creepiest guy in town. You have
to be I understand, you have to understand and know
your own creep factor.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
But not everybody does. Not everybody does at all. This
is a fact.
Speaker 1 (04:47):
But then again, how you look plays a factor, because
we all know women will be the first to tell
you a good looking guy and a weird looking guy
could do the same thing, and it's either, oh my god,
he's sweet versus weird.
Speaker 3 (05:00):
It's not yeah, no, no, no, it's not a good looking
guy versus a weird looking guy. It's a well dressed
it's a well kempt guy. Somebody who's taking care of
the well kempt is different. I wouldn't want number one.
Speaker 1 (05:12):
I'm the father of a teenage girl, and my first
I would be like you out of your mind getting
in the car with some stranger.
Speaker 2 (05:19):
What do you think his intention was, Well that you
think he wanted to just take you home and be
a good dude.
Speaker 1 (05:24):
Use your brain and no matter what it is, creep
is creep all the way every day.
Speaker 3 (05:30):
Well, because women these days cannot take that chance, no
matter how nice you look, no matter how good looking
your car is or any of that stuff. There a
strange guy walks up to a woman these days, she's
immediately on her guard. You already lost?
Speaker 2 (05:46):
Yeah, I mean, do I understand?
Speaker 1 (05:47):
I can't play naive to the to the thought process
and to the fact that I think I would be
a good guy to drive this girl home. But I
would be the first to tell you that it wouldn't
be out of the kindness of my heart. It would
be to get to know her right in what way?
Speaker 2 (06:02):
Yeah? And in all kinds of way.
Speaker 1 (06:04):
So here's here's what I came to the this is
my answer. If you're a single guy, and if you
did see an attractive she's all business dress, you're looking good.
And by the way, every day all of us are
gonna be looking at that bus stop right here on
the corner just to see what he's talking about.
Speaker 6 (06:19):
How hot?
Speaker 2 (06:20):
Was this? My meat to inspire all these thoughts and.
Speaker 1 (06:22):
Listen, it was a fun deep thought to start the
show before we get into NFL and Chack Diesel trivia
and all this stuff. My thought was this, Now, if
you were to see the same person every day or so,
let's say the first time you see her and you're like, oh, hey,
I like your I like your Jordan's, or hey, I
like your bag.
Speaker 2 (06:40):
Some small talker, hey how are you?
Speaker 1 (06:42):
If you had small talk a few times, I think
by time three, you could say.
Speaker 2 (06:48):
Hey, by the way, I'm where are you ahead? Because
I'll drive you if you want.
Speaker 3 (06:52):
I still say it. I still don't think it's gonna work.
Speaker 2 (06:54):
I think what about this four? I agree with what
Rich just said.
Speaker 1 (06:59):
Those are four worst encounters, meaning you're setting it up,
but you're letting it play out, like, oh, I know
she's there, I've seen her a few times. Now, I'm
going to force this encounter, build some camaraderie before I
make the move and the gesture. That's fine, that's fair game.
Speaker 2 (07:13):
It sounds like grooming, right.
Speaker 7 (07:16):
I'm just like, if you're like truly like for what
she's probably thinking, like, I don't think that you realize
how wide the river is of why.
Speaker 2 (07:25):
I must give you a ride?
Speaker 1 (07:26):
Like bar Back in the two thousands, Steve Cabino went
to the same store at the mall and meaninglessly bought
like Armani Exchange t shirts because a hawker will work there,
just so he could get the report and finally be like,
let's hang building up the courage. Hey, I'm the guy
to shops here. Hey.
Speaker 2 (07:43):
But that was like out of that trying to be sweet.
Also the year two thousand, right, Also the year twenty.
Speaker 3 (07:50):
Four, totally different error and you're absolutely right, damn barr
One hundred percent.
Speaker 2 (07:54):
Let me guess this then.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
So let's say single guy sees attractive, put together girl
at the bus stop.
Speaker 2 (08:00):
What are you doing at the bus stop?
Speaker 3 (08:01):
Right?
Speaker 2 (08:02):
What if he after a couple times of how do
you do rapport?
Speaker 1 (08:06):
He's like, I see you here all the time, Yo,
what's your Instagram? Let's follow each other, and then he
slides into the DMS like, YO, when you're at the
bus stop, I'll drive you. Now you're walking there today?
Language a little more. You got to get to know
him on social media. Yeah, Like from our old school perspective,
what you're doing, what you're thinking is fine and understandable, right,
But from today's young woman on her come up in
(08:29):
her little business suit, getting ready to go to work
or coming back wherever she was coming from, Yeah, she's
thinking you're a weirdo because they don't even communicate in
person anymore.
Speaker 3 (08:38):
And it's got to be place appropriate to The bus
stop is not the place where somebody's going to be
expecting that kind of behavior. Somebody's not supposed to be
picking up on you, you know, bus Mike, call me judgmental.
Speaker 1 (08:49):
Ninety percent of people the bustop or mutants, I mean
the fact, so this girl probably already feels a little
at a place to begin with.
Speaker 2 (08:58):
You're her white night baby in the movie.
Speaker 1 (09:02):
Rich is like in my Arsel in Distress with the
Diehard references. Man, man, you just made my mind going
a million different directions right there. So Fox Sports Radio Nation,
as they used to say, old school NFL, you make
the call Rich, she's an attractive my meat down the
(09:23):
bus stop. Yea, I ah, yes, me. Oh. He snaps
his neck and he thinks to himself, would it be
creepy if I offered her a ride if I was single?
Speaker 2 (09:35):
Of course, I'm saying yeah.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
But this is you thinking you're the most charming fella
in town. No, no, no, look, I think me at
my best. I think I'm a good candidate to run
this game to back in the day, both of you
and Rich.
Speaker 2 (10:00):
This is Rich coming from I'm the greatest guy. Oh God.
Speaker 1 (10:03):
Not everybody is coming from that place where they would
get the same results, maybe as you would. I would
not recommend this to many. Put it that way, I
would not recommend this move to many people. I was Sam,
I wanted to go outside about four o'clock. There's a
girl at the bus stop. Yeah, I gotta see a
picture now, I gotta see this girl. This is the
(10:24):
same time she brought this up. Today she would say
this to me.
Speaker 3 (10:28):
Wait now we're.
Speaker 1 (10:28):
Taking Now we're taking No, not taking pictures, not doing
any of that.
Speaker 2 (10:33):
I'm just saying.
Speaker 1 (10:34):
It crossed my mind because you know, you have these
hypotheticals in your head because we were all single once. Yeah,
but again in a different time where maybe that was
a little more acceptable than it is today. People do
not really communicate in those same ways. That's how we
met people. We met people out and about walking around
(10:54):
at the mall. You mentioned the mall, at the store,
at the bar. You saw the moving chart just the
other day with a stat the moving you know those
like fun Instagram moving charts. It showed how people meet
each other. And it used to be like friends and family,
church all the now and you know, bars, restaurants, clubs.
Over the last twenty years, online went from the bottom
(11:17):
of the pile to eighty percent of young acters. Yeah,
so young people. A young woman at the bus stop,
attractive man. You're coming from another era with those lines
in your car. I get strategies. Do change life change
is fast. Think think of everything right, I think of
how people meet. Do you want to tie it into sports, Cavino, sure,
(11:38):
think of Think of all the changes we've seen in
the last twenty years in sports. You don't think there's
changes in the dating world. Come on, you know, and
you brought up something about taking pictures. Look at social media.
You said, people just exist in that world more than ever.
Guys in in the middle of contract negotiations, what does
he immediately do wipe his previous team from his Instagram?
Speaker 2 (11:57):
Those those are online baby game. People just have world.
People operate in social media more so than real life. Now,
that's why.
Speaker 1 (12:04):
So when you bring up this real life scenario, I
think ninety nine point nine percent of the people are
going to strike out unless you're handsome Dan or Gaston,
some sort of ladies man. Yeah, the lady man. I
think you're gonna fail miserably and you're gonna come off
as a creep. You make the call eight seven seven
ninety nine on Fox or hit us up at Covino
and Rich. You heard doctor Love's take on it. If
(12:26):
your intentions are good, hey man, you take your shot.
You shoot your shot right, but based on what you're saying,
and we'll move on a second.
Speaker 2 (12:35):
But I do find that you're creeping effect.
Speaker 1 (12:36):
I do find this interesting in twenty twenty four, does
it make it seem like meeting someone at the supermarket, at.
Speaker 2 (12:46):
The store at like out and about at a ballgame?
Speaker 1 (12:50):
Is in person just a weird way to meet someone,
so much so that it would catch someone off guard.
Speaker 2 (12:55):
Yes, especially a young person like what you're talking.
Speaker 1 (12:58):
To me, Jim a football game. I'm a tailgate with
Sunday football watching at the bar. That's not how people
meeting him. And I'm crazy right.
Speaker 3 (13:06):
One of the reasons I am I am qualified to
be doctor Love is a wonderful twenty five year plus
long mariage there it is. Recently we met at a bar. No, Lie,
you know that's how it used to go. We just
had like Joe Biden, No lie, Man, no Lie, I'm
talking to you man, No Lie.
Speaker 1 (13:23):
Yeah, your thoughts and uh we move to the NFL.
We moved to the NBA. But hey, your feedback welcomed
eight seven, seven, nine nine on Fox. And by the way,
that's Mike who runs this place every Mike, Yeah, Mikes
his place.
Speaker 2 (13:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (13:38):
Now, we also talked to Mike about sibling rivalry and
Mike was pretty adamant that what was the expression, you
stomp You stomp on him, you stomp him to the ground.
Speaker 3 (13:50):
Yeah, and you keep stomping. That's what you do to
your brothers.
Speaker 1 (13:53):
Because we read, well, we know that the hardball ball
was yesterday and John is now three over Jim, And
it just brought on the thought of, well, you gotta know,
Jim was really wanting just one wind mean, no, he
will nobody wanted the one that mattered the most.
Speaker 2 (14:11):
Oh yeah, of course when the.
Speaker 1 (14:12):
Forty nine ers lost the super but you still want
to win, right, And they talked about it. They're brothers,
and they're a great example of just really good and
competitive brothers. They don't want any sort of breaks. They
want to go at it as brothers would. But in
real life it got us thinking about the sibling rivalries
and just coming up. We all have siblings, most of
(14:34):
us here. You ever let your brother win? Do you
ever have that mentality? Or do you keep them in
their place? Which is also like a gross mentality. I
have a few stories that make me scratch my head.
I think you gotta give your siblings some grace, but
you still beat them.
Speaker 2 (14:53):
I'm not saying you let them.
Speaker 1 (14:54):
Win unless they're significantly younger, and even that I've never done.
I was eighteen years older than my brother. I still
to this day never let them win. Look at it
this way. I look at letting your sibling win the
same way I look at keeping score and children sports.
There comes an age where it matters, and I've developed
(15:15):
the theory that that's eight to ten years old. My
kids are seven and four. Sometimes I'll tell my daughter, Hey,
your little brother's four, you're seven, give them a chance.
Now you get older, that ideology's out the window. But
when your kids, should you really be that competitive with
your siblings, even professionally? Like, shouldn't you just be happy
(15:39):
for their success? You're not trying to beat them still
in life?
Speaker 2 (15:43):
Are you? Like? In life?
Speaker 1 (15:45):
This is a game we're talking about the hardball ball.
Yesterday again the Ravens. It was a close game till
it wasn't. In the fourth quarter, Ravens pulled away. They
ended up winning thirty twenty three. Ravens eight and four
Chargers now seven and four. People today picking on the
Chargers pretty hardcore on social media. Yeah, but it got
us thinking, and there's a lot of other sibling rivalries
that will discuss and bring up. But do you ever
(16:06):
let them win? Do you ever let him win? And
should you be competing.
Speaker 2 (16:11):
In that way?
Speaker 1 (16:11):
You know, there's a great there's a there's a great
clip if you want to look around. You know the
broadcaster Ben Verlander who works for MLB. Correct, Yeah, he's great.
I love I love the stuff he does on social media.
Speaker 2 (16:21):
Ben Verlander. It's uh, Justin Verlander's brother.
Speaker 1 (16:27):
He played ball himself, younger brother never made it to
obviously the levels of Justin Verlander. But I believe it
was a spring training game and he got one at
bat against his brother. Ever ever, and his brother is
already you know, big time established cy young award winning
World Series champion.
Speaker 2 (16:43):
And Ben Verlander hit a home run off his brother
his one at bat. I thought it was so cool.
Speaker 1 (16:47):
But you see that here's what makes that different. Justin
Verlander is like a legend. So Ben finally getting one
chance to shine in that moment. That's like Seth Curry
beating Steph just one time where it mattered, you know,
like it doesn't matter, it's just a feel good story.
(17:08):
Should you really want to beat your brother? Do you
just root for your brother, it's Scott in Missouri online one.
He wants to chime in, what's up? Scott Hey?
Speaker 8 (17:17):
Scott Hey? All right?
Speaker 6 (17:19):
So with the move here is you ride the bus
and sit close enough to her and take a fake
phone call saying what my car is going to be
in the shop for a week, and that gives you
five opportunities to kind of chat her up and get
her DM And then.
Speaker 2 (17:34):
Rich ends up in the Mario asking me to pick
him up. I'm here, I'm lost in I'm in downtown.
Speaker 1 (17:43):
Yeah, help help, Let's go to Saga Saga in Oxnard.
Speaker 2 (17:49):
What's up, dude, day?
Speaker 8 (17:51):
What's up?
Speaker 2 (17:51):
Fellas? What's up?
Speaker 4 (17:52):
I'm trying to just get my head out of the
gunner here really quick.
Speaker 8 (17:56):
I think that I think that, Yeah, this generational is different.
Speaker 9 (18:01):
I think the creasiest thing you could do is actually
what the last guy said is to get on the
bus and follow us where she's going.
Speaker 3 (18:09):
Yeah, figure out.
Speaker 2 (18:10):
Dahn, I was stalking just innocantly.
Speaker 10 (18:12):
Give me.
Speaker 1 (18:13):
I'm doing a recon green bow. Thank you, Broay. Now
now back to the They make Netflix shows about people
like that.
Speaker 2 (18:21):
It's called The You.
Speaker 1 (18:22):
They ever see the show you? Joe Goldfer so last night,
be a gentleman. Everybody hard bomb ball, hardbomb ball. John's
got the upper hand three to nothing so far. One
the most has Lamar Jackson one hundred and seventy seven yards.
Two Tuddies Henry ran for one hundred and forty yards.
(18:43):
But you know it was a close game until until
Justice Hill ran for fifty one yards.
Speaker 11 (18:48):
Yeah, that's really what a nice nice uh backup, running
back to Derrick Henry.
Speaker 1 (18:53):
He did get the upper hand in the Super Bowl
New Orleans. Last time it was there, forty nine Ers
lost to the Ravens. Remember that game was twenty eight
to six and then uh my head knocked out the lights.
Remember Beyonce's halftime show, and then the Niners had that
big comeback but fell just short. Come on, Crabtree still
bent about that. But yeah, Harbaugh, John owns Jim. So
(19:16):
we're talking about letting your siblings win. Like when it
comes to sibling rivalry, if you're the youngest of the oldest,
I'll tell you what, I'm the oldest. My siblings probably
hate how many WWF wrestling moves I put them in.
Speaker 2 (19:28):
My brother has every right to.
Speaker 1 (19:29):
Punch me in the face when he sees me because
I mostly given him Sharpshooters, figure four leg lock Suplex's ddts. Danny,
g you got those battles with your siblings.
Speaker 11 (19:39):
Oh, my older brother used to test out all of
his boxing and wrestling moves on me.
Speaker 2 (19:44):
I mean they're in.
Speaker 11 (19:45):
One time in the backyard, there was like a little
rock pile because my mom had this project she wanted
to get to like I'm gonna put the rocks down.
Speaker 2 (19:53):
Man.
Speaker 11 (19:53):
No, it served as something my older brother would just
slam me on top of and he one time he
yelled rowdy roddy piper, and he like slammed me on
my back onto the pile of rocks.
Speaker 2 (20:05):
I used to get didy with my brothers and uh
and the soils in the streets of New York, and
we worked tired a white todd for my mother's attention. Guys,
I killed them both, guys like me and you. Vick
was not built for me and my brother. So I
killed the penguin. Go into your head the penguin, man,
all you want to do that is penguin.
Speaker 1 (20:25):
Let's just say didn't have a good relationship with his brothers.
Brought up, Danny, All I want to do is talk
like Colin Farrell is the Penguin Danny G.
Speaker 3 (20:34):
Guys like you and me.
Speaker 2 (20:35):
We got to work hard.
Speaker 1 (20:36):
But the world's not built me and you, VIC, Me
and you VIC, It's not set up for successful guys
like you want to.
Speaker 2 (20:41):
I mean, I love my brothers.
Speaker 1 (20:42):
I love them, but you know, let's go no, no, no,
But I want to bring it one more story.
Speaker 3 (20:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (20:47):
Yeah, I feel like the Harbom brothers have a really
healthy relationship like a lot of You see a lot
of brothers in sports. They probably motivate each other and
they're rooting for each other. The Kelsey brothers right rooting
for each other. Ripkins always felt like they were retired. Yeah,
and even though you know Cow was a legend, they
seemed to be tight. Jason speaks so highly of Travis.
He was saying how it sucked to play them because
(21:09):
Travis was so good, right, and that Travis had the
best of them.
Speaker 2 (21:13):
But you know, I'm so proud of his brother.
Speaker 1 (21:14):
You see a lot of healthy relationships, but then you
see like unhealthy relationships. I saw him, or at least
they appeared to be that way. I saw Eric Spears,
remember comedian Aery Spears he used to be on our show,
Good Dude. I saw him interviewing Tony Rock and he
said to Tony Rock, and I used to say this
to Charlie Murphy all the time, Eddie Murphy's your brother.
Speaker 2 (21:37):
How come you're not in any Eddie Murphy movies?
Speaker 1 (21:39):
Man?
Speaker 2 (21:40):
And you know Charlie would have no answers for that.
She goes. So I asked you, Tony, Chris is your brother.
Speaker 1 (21:46):
Chris is your brother, why aren't you in any Chris
Rock movies? There's so many movies where Chris Rock has
a brother, it's never Tony Rock. And Tony Rock is
also a hard working comedian looking for a break. And
Tony shrugged his shoulders because he doesn't want to disparage
his brother. But he basically said that he thinks Chris
(22:07):
wishes he wasn't in the business. And Chris, in a
weird way without saying it, wants to keep his brother down.
It's as simple as that. He wants to be the
top dog. And no if he wants to keep him down,
but he just does want to help him.
Speaker 2 (22:20):
I was gonna say, I don't.
Speaker 1 (22:20):
Know if he wants to keep him down, but he's
not want to help in the business of help. He's
not in the business of helping him. He and Tony
Rock's like he made it very clear, like I don't
want to ask my brother for favors.
Speaker 2 (22:29):
I love my brother.
Speaker 1 (22:31):
There's been moments where I've been crushed because I thought
he was gonna look out for me.
Speaker 2 (22:35):
And he didn't.
Speaker 1 (22:35):
You know, when you think of a movie set, think
of how many ancillary characters are there.
Speaker 2 (22:39):
You can't fit your brother into it.
Speaker 1 (22:42):
It's like, it's like when Danny g wasn't getting help
from Warren g Right. Thankfully your brother Kenny helped you out. Yeah,
he got you in radio.
Speaker 2 (22:49):
Let's go to Stuart and Waco Line four. Sibling rivalry.
Do you let your do you look out for your siblings?
Do you let him win?
Speaker 1 (22:57):
Or let him win just for the confidence bill there?
How do you handle that?
Speaker 3 (23:01):
Right?
Speaker 12 (23:02):
So you know John owns Jim and Stuart owns Brian.
I grew up in Fargo, North Dakota, and when i'd
come home from college, I'd bring colleague soccer teammates with me,
and even before that, I'd play mercy with my little brother.
I'm seven years older than him, and I remember being
home one time, he's like fifteen, I'm in my early
twenties and you going at it, trying to flex each
(23:22):
other's hands back and forth, and I finally get him
to give and I walk away with a buddy going, man,
I don't know if I can do that against him again. Well,
he goes on to be a professional bodybuilder and west
Side blocks, you know, student of that that approach, and
I think you just got to appreciate even if you're
not holding him down, you want to stay on top.
And I've never played mercy with him again. He's a
(23:45):
he's a big dude. So I'm happy to get to
share that story.
Speaker 2 (23:48):
No, I'm glad you did for shared.
Speaker 1 (23:50):
I think it's like the coming of age, you know
when the first time you're like, I think I really
genuinely beat my dad in a race, or I played
twenty one at the school yard, and like, how about.
Speaker 2 (23:59):
Kick I beat that? Did I beat that for real?
Or did he let me win?
Speaker 1 (24:02):
But there's so many other people in the world that
you could beat on and and humiliate, and you know,
gain confidence over your brother shouldn't be that you're supposed
to lift each other, Like the Klitchko brothers, the Klitschko
brothers brought brought the best out in each other, and
they refuse to fight for their mother. They're like, we're
never gonna fight each other, all right, Who's Who's that
a cool way to handle it, Like, Yo, we're gonna,
(24:24):
we're gonna, we're gonna sc scramble, we're gonna, we're gonna
spar but we're not gonna fight each other because we
love our mom and we root for each other.
Speaker 2 (24:32):
Right, answer this then and there we'll go for great
and we'll go to the both side. We'll go to
the rest of.
Speaker 1 (24:35):
The phone calls once you tell me all right, because
I don't think it's an easy answer. Kill my brothers.
I killed them. See, while you're giving away potlines, I'm
not there. I'm only up to episode five.
Speaker 2 (24:46):
VIC. There's guys like you and me and the world's
I'm made for us, you know.
Speaker 1 (24:49):
The I'm speculating about the pain hanguin on HBO Max
Special on TV. Anyway, Logan or Jake Paul is very
clear that's the more popular successful brother or do you
look at them as like man, pretty pretty lateral, but
you know there's a sibling rivalry, but they root for
each other. For as dysfunctional as that relationship could be,
(25:09):
I think it's pretty it's pretty great at the same
time because they got each other's back.
Speaker 2 (25:14):
I mean, Jake Paul it's fighting.
Speaker 1 (25:19):
Mike Tyson in the ring. But then again, Logan Paul
fort Foot made where the Joe. We say Logan was
the more successful until the past year plus. Now Jake's
really making a name for himself. All right, So the
hardball ball, do you ever let siblings win? John has
not taken it easy on Jim. He's three and zero.
We'll take your phone calls. But we got to hear
(25:40):
from Dan Byer. DB's hanging out with the updates.
Speaker 6 (25:42):
D me.
Speaker 2 (25:42):
What's up guys?
Speaker 7 (25:44):
Some college basketball that gets you caught up on right
now and Maui. Yesterday Yukon was upset in the quarterfinals.
Today they're in a dog fight with Colorado second ring.
Kusky's up seventy to two seventy one, which just seconds remaining.
Colorado does have the basketball, and in fact, Colorado has
just taken a seventy three seventy two lead, So Danny
(26:07):
Hurley will be taking a time out.
Speaker 1 (26:09):
I was gonna say, we all I thought we were
about to see the final five seconds.
Speaker 2 (26:12):
Yeah, they called the time out. They'll have to talk
it over.
Speaker 7 (26:15):
Seventy three seventy two buffs over the Huskies right now
in Maui. Earlier today, San Diego State took out number
twenty one Creightons seventy one to fifty three. I love
this week because of all the college basketball. We get
number twenty Texas A and M on top of Oregon
right now as they play in Las Vegas at the half,
thirty two to twenty nine.
Speaker 2 (26:34):
Now on to the NFL.
Speaker 7 (26:35):
The traffic citations given to Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill
prior to kick off of their opening game in September,
we're dismissed today after the officers involved in the incident
did not show up in court. Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers
says he hasn't made a final decision on his future
just yet, making these comments to the Pat McAfee show.
Speaker 2 (26:53):
I've really enjoyed my time in New York.
Speaker 5 (26:54):
I mean, obviously we haven't had success that we've all
wanted to have, but you know, I've made some great
friendships on the team, and I came here to win here,
So I'm not jumping off ship, you know, like, oh,
I definitely want to play and not in New York,
Like I don't even know if I want to play yet,
but New York will be my first option.
Speaker 1 (27:11):
Demanda here, do you ever let your other siblings win?
Do you take it easy on them?
Speaker 2 (27:24):
Brother?
Speaker 11 (27:26):
Speaking of brothers, rich, wasn't that one of the Murphy's
was that Eddie Murphy?
Speaker 2 (27:31):
Yes, Norbit and had that dollar in my pocket made.
Speaker 1 (27:38):
Terry Crews was one of the brothers and he served Norbit,
the nerdy brother Turkey ass. It's the best part they
gave him because they picked on their goofy brother.
Speaker 2 (27:47):
That's all they left for him. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (27:49):
So yeah, John is three and oer over Jim and
the hardbam ball. Do you ever take it obviously not
in the NFL and at this level? Do you ever
take it easy on your brother in life? But you
always root for your brother? You still deep down trying
to compete and.
Speaker 2 (28:04):
Beat your brother.
Speaker 1 (28:05):
Not to not trying to make light of this, but
I just speaking of brothers. The top story on TMZ
Sports today is that the Menendez brothers are gonna be
watching all the games in jail on Thanksgiving like it's
they're treat. They're allowed to eat all the fixings, and
they get access in prison to all the NFL games.
You know, maybe it's a prospective thing, meaning I'm the
(28:28):
older brother, right, so same, I just always beat my brother.
Maybe if you're the younger brother, you always have that
drive and desire the one day I'm gonna beat them.
I'm gonna get him. I want to beat them. Maybe
it's the younger brother theory, maybe where you always just
want to beat your older brother. I think a lot
(28:48):
of times the older brother is in the head of
the younger brother, right, because even if my younger brother's
better than me at something, if I play him a
lot of times, I'll win pool, darts, an you know,
anytime you get ping pong at my dad's house. Because
my brother, we'll get into the mindset of like I'm
a little brother. Yeah, right at this stage of the game,
I think my brother he's such a monster. I think
(29:08):
he probably beat me in most things. But that's it
sucks for him because I retired, you know, before he
got too good. No, I'm not playing it on anything.
Byron in Mississippi will take two quick phone calls and
then have a thought on Aaron Rodgers based on Dan
Buyer's update.
Speaker 2 (29:21):
What's up Byron? What's up? Man? Hey?
Speaker 8 (29:24):
How we all Dan?
Speaker 2 (29:25):
We're good man? What's tell you mine?
Speaker 9 (29:27):
So I just want to talk about sibling rivalry. I'm
an old miss Rebel and it's not brother, but my
little sister is a Mississippi State Bulldog. So the ultimate
sibling rivalry in our household is the egg ball. And
so we talk about, you know, letting the other team win.
The past three years that's gone. We've won and then
State took it home, and then we won last year.
So I'm winner in based oning how the old miss
Rebels football team has been performing these past few games. Unfortunately,
(29:51):
probably not going to make the playoffs this year. If
they're gonna let State win this game. You know, I'm
super excited for this game coming up on Friday. You know,
my sister's doing a right at State, and I'm blessed
to call home Miss my home. But ultimately, at the
end of the day, this is the biggest sibling rivalry
and probably the biggest rivalry in college football.
Speaker 8 (30:08):
I said it.
Speaker 9 (30:09):
I don't think Michigan and Ohio State hold a candle
army namies up there. But this really defines rivalry in
our household.
Speaker 1 (30:15):
By the way, speaking of Mississippi, thank you buddy. The Mannings,
do you look at them as a rivalry or do
you look at them as like two guys at set
of poke fun of Tom Brady together for you guys.
Oh yeah, Arch Manning. Yeah, I think you know they so,
I know, Cooper Manning, Cooper Manning. They all wanted to
keep that family name going. And Eli paved his own
(30:36):
way and has his own legacy. Two Super Bowl MVPs,
beating Tom Brady, all those things. So look, he's not Peyton,
but he still did his own thing. He did his thing,
and I think that's all you really want. Harley in Virginia,
what's up?
Speaker 13 (30:49):
Man?
Speaker 2 (30:50):
Wrapping up? Hey Harley?
Speaker 4 (30:52):
He god's how you doing? Thanks for taking my call,
No problem, I just had a different perspective. Order brother.
I was born in nine one. I got a brother
that was born in ninety three and then ninety six.
In twenty twenty one, I lost my you know, closest
in age brother. So now it's like, thank you guys.
(31:14):
Now it's like, you know, when he was with me,
it was two of the Now we you know, we
were fighting about everything and always trying to get the
upper hand on him. Now I just have a different perspective,
you know, wishing I would have had that older brother,
you know, sometimes let him win.
Speaker 2 (31:32):
But of course that's a really cool story.
Speaker 3 (31:37):
You know.
Speaker 1 (31:37):
I'm sad to hear that, man, but the perspective was
great to hear. And it's really interesting because even if
you have a healthy outlook on everything, John still has this.
Speaker 2 (31:49):
I beat Jim three times, he still has that and Jim.
Speaker 1 (31:52):
No matter what I mentioned, think you mentioned that before
the Kelsey brothers facing each other. Yeah, I was think
of the boss, Like, you know, is there a competition
like yo which Bosa is better?
Speaker 2 (32:03):
Exactly?
Speaker 1 (32:04):
There, there's can't lunder lying just because when you're cut
from a competitive cloth and your siblings, it's always going
to be there. So hey, hopefully you enjoyed your Monday
night football and thanks for the phone call, man, I
appreciate you. Now coming up, we got Shack Diesel Trivia
and a thought about Aaron Rodgers. There's two shows on
TV right now. I know it's not weekend hobnob in time,
(32:24):
but if you need a little something extra to watch
the night because it's a Tuesday, and you're not feeling
the NBA Cup Penguin on HBO Max, And I'm really
digging the Ted Dancing comedy on Netflix. Man on the inside.
He's undercovered an old folks home trying to find like
a criminals.
Speaker 2 (32:43):
As I always say, it's cute. I watch cute shows.
I'll stick to the penguin. It's funny.
Speaker 1 (32:48):
Let's be cute about that guy. Sorry, so you're so tough. Yeah,
I'm not a big Ted Dancing fan. Dance talk about
this show.
Speaker 2 (32:56):
I don't not like t.
Speaker 3 (32:57):
No, no, no.
Speaker 2 (32:57):
Maybe it's trending them on Netflix.
Speaker 1 (32:59):
I might, it doesn't matter what I think. He's been
on TV since I was three years old.
Speaker 2 (33:03):
Sorry, do you not like Ted Dancing?
Speaker 1 (33:04):
I don't know Cheers, Curb, Good Place, anything he's ever done.
I'm not saying I don't like him. I just never
heard anything good about this show. I'll take your word
for it. When you say it's cute makes me want
to stomp on it.
Speaker 2 (33:16):
You guys talking right now? Is a scene from Curb
You're in He's with Ted Dancing.
Speaker 1 (33:19):
Here's he uses the lamest words to describe the show
and expects me to be fired up about it. I
was cute and not a good words sweet, cute, charming.
Speaker 2 (33:26):
I'll watch it.
Speaker 1 (33:27):
Your girl, your girl, she must be the most miserable
trash TV like the van.
Speaker 2 (33:35):
You're making fun?
Speaker 1 (33:36):
Yeah, I don't ted dancing comedy, but you're gonna watch
like blow Deck or something. I don't watch any of
those shows, to be honest, I don't any of them.
So that's why when I find a penguin, I get
excited about it because I don't just jump on every
goofy show like you do, and then you run your
own reputation promoting garbage shows, dance, gritch.
Speaker 2 (33:56):
What show don't you watch? Does you talk about them?
Speaker 1 (33:58):
All?
Speaker 2 (33:59):
God? Yeah, let's fight nice. I don't.
Speaker 11 (34:01):
We're fighting like brothers. What do you guys think about
fair Weather fans?
Speaker 3 (34:05):
Don't way?
Speaker 1 (34:06):
Fox Sports Radio just posted a clip about that. Rich
and I were fighting about Fairweathered fans yesterday. It's at
Fox Sports Radio on social media. We posted it on
our ig story and to wrap up our sibling rivalry.
Speaker 2 (34:19):
You know, I play.
Speaker 1 (34:21):
I play Rob Zombie every night on Turbo Right, Turbo
forty one, on Syrias XM.
Speaker 2 (34:25):
Who cares?
Speaker 1 (34:26):
You know a lot of people don't know that Spider
One is his brother of power Man, and I always say, hey, man, throw.
Speaker 2 (34:33):
A song' a song.
Speaker 1 (34:36):
I'm a bigger fan of his brother, Rod Zombie. I
don't know if you know him, dude, Marky Chavez of Edema.
His brother's Jonathan Davis of Korn. That's his half brother,
so Yo Jonathan. Throw them a song like like like
the brothers GiB did to Andy, throw a song.
Speaker 2 (34:53):
Give him a song, Give him a.
Speaker 1 (34:55):
Song, give him an opportunity, have a healthy relationship. Want
what's best for your sibl don't try to hold them down.
As we wrap up the Hardbomb Bowl yesterday.
Speaker 2 (35:05):
So I hope you enjoyed it.
Speaker 1 (35:07):
Ravens did, John did, and we got one more phone
calls here and then we talk about Aaron Rodgers and
Shack Diesel Trivia. This hour your chance to win a
swiggy so beat Diland eight seventy seven ninety nine on Fox.
Speaker 2 (35:20):
Uh Bruno in Brooklyn. What's up now, top gentlemen?
Speaker 8 (35:24):
Good evening. Hey, anybody listening. They came from a big
family like I did. Six boys. Okay, Wow, you.
Speaker 1 (35:30):
Like you're the opposite. You're the opposite of the Jason Kelsey.
Jason Kelsey announced his fourth daughter this week.
Speaker 8 (35:37):
Blake six six boys, and I just want to tell
you this every day was King of the Hill. Now
here's how it starts. You start out trying to beat
your older brothers, and then you have your younger brothers
that are basically trying to come up. So it's either
going to be beat him in one on one in
the driveway, beat him in one on one in arm
(35:59):
wrestling or pink on whatever. But as they start to
get a little older, you don't block that shot. You
let them have their move, man. You let them. You
don't go for the for the stuff you lem. You
let them hit that shot because you know what. You
see them coming up and you said to yourself, he's thirteen,
I'm sixteen. Let him hit the note. And that was
really a very special time in our lives because there's
(36:21):
a time when you stop flexing. There's a time when
you basically give them their their time. And you know
what it does. It creates a bond. You can never
recreate this beautiful thing.
Speaker 1 (36:32):
You're lifting them, you're not holding them back, and you're
building their confidence and you played a part in it,
and you're in it together. It's like that that Chris
Rock and Tony Rock story I told before. You know,
Chris never put Tony in a movie and Airy spears.
The comedian was like, you keep it in the family, man,
keep it in the family. Well, what's best for your siblings?
Speaker 2 (36:53):
You know?
Speaker 1 (36:55):
Not only do that an awesome story. By the way,
not only do I do this show with Cavino as
much like golf as we do a million podcasts and
show his brother, I do a parenting podcast.
Speaker 2 (37:05):
But it's really not about parenting. Who cares have kids?
Speaker 1 (37:09):
They said, And I recently was talking about an article
where if you do have kids, and it goes along
with the theory of siblings, if you're playing against your
kids board.
Speaker 2 (37:20):
Games, trivia games, basketball.
Speaker 1 (37:22):
In the driveway, they say, the best thing to do
is always have it the kids against the parents, Like,
don't pin them against each other, have them work as
a team, and it'll do wonders for their self esteem,
everything about their camaraderie.
Speaker 2 (37:36):
Like it's it should be the way we can smoke
the kids all at once.
Speaker 1 (37:39):
No, and then if you do smoke the kids, then
they're like, let's work hard to beat dad.
Speaker 2 (37:43):
Like it's actually great advice.
Speaker 1 (37:44):
Hey, listen, cause how many jo dads pin the kids
against each other? Yeah, right, and they're trying to win
their parents' approval and be the best.
Speaker 2 (37:52):
I beat them, right that you love me? Right, you
might be the best? Right that.
Speaker 1 (37:55):
So the ideology is always tell you kids like, hey,
you know, you know little Man and little Johnny, you
guys are going against dad, and then you know, then
it's up to you if you let them win or not.
But always pin your kids against the parents. That's a
healthy way to teach them lessons.
Speaker 2 (38:14):
It is.
Speaker 1 (38:14):
And you're not competing with your siblings. I never have five.
There's five of us, right, Cavinos. I never felt like
I was competing with anyone in my family, let alone
my siblings. You got so many other people in the
world you're competing with, right, I'm competing.
Speaker 2 (38:28):
Yeah, have each other's back, man, that's it. They'll use
that teamwork later to slash dad's tires.
Speaker 1 (38:32):
Yeah. You know what, if someone's gonna slash the tires,
let it be your kids working together.
Speaker 2 (38:37):
Right. I've ben Aaron Rodgers thought, let's hear it.
Speaker 1 (38:41):
And his brother didn't have man many nice things to
say about back in the day. We are, like, you know,
unintentionally just tying this whole show together today. Yeah, talk
about brothers not all great. Remember Jordan Rodgers was like, yeah,
Aaron doesn't talk to us.
Speaker 2 (39:00):
That was awkward for a minute. Think they like hanging out?
Speaker 1 (39:03):
I think yeah, I think it's gotten better. And I
did like what Dan Bayer brought up before in his
update where Aaron Rodgers said that he'd like to stay
with the Jets. I like what he had to say
about it, because you hear all these rooms polease. He
just likes the Italian food and he enjoyed Back to
the Future on Broadway. But he said he formed some
great bonds and that would be his first choice. He
said the right things. So, based on the Dan Byer update,
(39:25):
and it is funny how we transitioned from the brothers,
they did not get along. Aaron Rodgers saying if he
does continue and he does have one year left on
the three year deal he signed with the Jets, correct
me if I'm wrong. I'm pretty sure that's accurate. Right,
then they own the way they structure the contract. It's
not a killer. It's not like there he's not sucking
(39:47):
fifty sixty million dollars out of the cap.
Speaker 2 (39:49):
It's in the twenties.
Speaker 1 (39:50):
So if Aaron Rodgers comes back for year three, I
got to ask because when it comes to relationships on
the field, off the field relationships, I'm even going to
compare it to death two analogies you Steve Covino have
brought up in the past. I'm gonna pull in number one. Sadly,
(40:10):
when someone has a heart attack or or coach Lou
Brown harder and they declare the person sorry, time of
death three ten Pacific. You always wonder what if they
would have worked on this guy for two? More like compressions,
(40:32):
Oh it's my death and artwork theory. How do you
know when you're done? Like when you're trying to revive someone.
It sounds terrible, but how do you know you've done enough?
I don't know, a few more pumps you would have
game back to life, right? How do you know a
song is done? How do you know a few more
brushstrokes the painting would have been better? Maybe it went
too far? You never quite know. You've talked about in marriage,
(40:57):
A lot of people give up real quick and are
very very quick to bring up the D word divorce.
So yeah, today's world, it's like, because you're flooded with options.
Speaker 2 (41:08):
Weren't we in this to win?
Speaker 1 (41:10):
It wasn't until death do us part? And I get it.
Divorce is a part of life, but a lot of
people are quick to be like, maybe we should get divorced.
And Cavino, I'll give him credit, you would have done
anything to try to work out your marriage. And eventually
he was like, listen, you did everything you could. Yeah,
pretty much, But what if you worked.
Speaker 2 (41:31):
A little harder, could you have made it work? I
don't think so. Maybe too little, too late.
Speaker 1 (41:36):
So basically I started earlier based on the dead guy analogy,
the dead marriage analogy.
Speaker 2 (41:42):
After the miserable year and a half that Aaron Rodgers
has had in New York.
Speaker 1 (41:48):
And he's saying, I really enjoyed my time in Bonds here.
They're gonna have a new head coach. They're gonna have
a new GM Rex Ryan bro By the way, I
oddly love that idea. I know it's like he's put
it out there and I need to see those chompers
on the sideline. I don't know how real it is,
but we're forgetting that. The last time the Jets had
a little glory. It was Mark Sanchez's tattoo on Rex Ryan. Right,
(42:11):
I let's see good old Chompers back there. So is
there a world in which next year they mix it
up and Aaron Rogers runs it back one more time
with the Jets and they have completely different results or
is that unrealistic? Because they have some great weapons in place,
(42:32):
they have key members that could be built around, and
this was a team that everyone thought playoffs, maybe super
Bowl and the fact that they say so.
Speaker 2 (42:42):
It's just not impossible. That's what makes a great story.
Speaker 1 (42:44):
How many times, and that's why you love sports because
there's always these stories of worse to first and man,
just a year ago they sucked and now they're slaying.
I mean, we talked about Donald awesome, we talked about
culture changes.
Speaker 2 (42:58):
My buddy Rob hit me up last night.
Speaker 1 (42:59):
He's like, yea, even though they lost, can't you just
tell that the Chargers have such a different vibe with Jim.
Speaker 2 (43:04):
Harbaughs, Like they would get that last name, he goes.
Speaker 1 (43:07):
They were the most boring blase the la charges who
cares and he goes. They have an identity now and
you saw Harbaugh did that with the forty nine Ers.
They took a team they're still seven and four and
they're still doing good. He took a forty nine Ers
team that won a few games in the next year.
His first season, the Niners were thirteen and three.
Speaker 11 (43:25):
It always feels like the players that he's coaching buy
into what he's selling.
Speaker 1 (43:29):
Yeah, so, Danny g when you have Aaron Rodgers, who
will have by then fully recovered maybe from what still
may ail him. You know, he's a little slow out
of the pocket. These days, they have Breis Hall, they
have some good defensive components DeVante Adams. Is there is
there a way that we just call this season a
(43:52):
bust refresh and could the Jets be highly competitive next year?
Speaker 2 (43:57):
And it's an amazing story.
Speaker 1 (43:58):
Can you run say man and we all counted Rogers
out and look at that. Is there a way this
is run back with any success or Is that such
silly talk?
Speaker 2 (44:09):
I believe it's silly talk. But it's not impossible.
Speaker 1 (44:12):
You know, There's been too many times we've seen that
and too many amazing stories in life and in sports
where you know it's possible. But with the Jets, it
just seems unlikely. But if you get a new Harma,
you get a new coach in there. That does change
the I feel like they have an identity, but it
changed the culture of the team. Then, yeah, I think
(44:34):
you're talking some sense. I think it's possible dbe s
maximum sense into me or not. Could a culture change
and some moves make the Jets suddenly real competitive next year?
Speaker 2 (44:46):
Is that a wild thought? It's not wild. But Aaron
Rodgers wouldn't be there. You think he is just not
part of the answer. Yeah, he is not.
Speaker 7 (44:54):
Jets correct for that culture changed to happen, and he's
part of that culture and he's made it his culture.
He would need to leave, he would. They've got talent
you just mentioned a bunch of names. Probably have to
do better on the offensive line again, but they have
a defense that we think is pretty good. But if
you want to change the culture, Aaron Rodgers can't be there.
Speaker 1 (45:16):
Yeah, that's the theo Epstein Garcia Para theory.
Speaker 2 (45:19):
Remember, like he's like, yeah, at least Garcia Para was
liked by the fans.
Speaker 1 (45:23):
Yeah, but he knew and had the wherewithal to say,
but we're not winning with him. Yeah, so they had it. Yeah,
they had it. I guess they get rid of them.
By the way, if you watch that documentary The Comeback
on Netflix about the four Red Sox, it is wild
to think that we forget you gotta get rid of
the main You forget that the a rod to the
Red Sox deal was practically done.
Speaker 2 (45:45):
You forgot that whole thing.
Speaker 1 (45:46):
There's so many things you forgot, but most of all
that theo Epstein, who has now looked as a genius
because he brought a world series to Boston and Chicago
at the time change to change that culture, which he
had to remove the star of the team. But for
theo Epstein in that time to be like, no, ma
oh yeah, the guy that's like synonymous with that team
(46:07):
at that time, he's gotta go. Sometimes it takes a
ballsy move and Dan saying that's that's Aaron Rodgers also.
Speaker 2 (46:14):
Think about it.
Speaker 7 (46:15):
Would any coach of GM that goes in there, would
they want Aaron Rodgers in the building.
Speaker 1 (46:19):
Yeah, they're thinking fresh, here's my chance. They're thinking, here's
my chance to come into New York and for the
first time since Rex Ryan and Mark Sanchez to have
any success. Do you think they want to be like
and you got Rogers for one year?
Speaker 2 (46:33):
No, it doesn't make any sense at all. Yeah, Damn
Bayern just swayed me.
Speaker 1 (46:39):
Yeah, when you when you, when you put it in
perspective like that, I'll stand by grand say, is not impossible,
but it's really like, because you're right, the culture change
involves getting rid of getting rid of him, dB.
Speaker 2 (46:52):
What if the Jets go out and get like a
Davante Adams.
Speaker 7 (46:57):
The funny thing with the clip, you know what, this
reminded me of him talking like this was how he
handled his achilles injury last year. There was no chance
he was going to come back. But we saw, we
heard updates, we saw him on the sidelines, we saw
him throwing, Hey, if we're in the hunt with Zach
Wilson as our quarterback, we could we could maybe I
could maybe come back. That really wasn't realistic. And so
(47:21):
this whole thing is now, let's talk about me. I
don't know if I'm going to retire. And I think
that the pushback he's going to get from this opposite
of what they had hoped last year.
Speaker 2 (47:31):
I think he's going to realize that he's not wanted
in New York.
Speaker 1 (47:34):
You know, Dann Bayer another great when he nails it
that was another great play. I forgot about that drawn
out he might come back last year. Nonsense, think he
should just drop his mic and goal.
Speaker 2 (47:44):
Yeah, honestly, TB have a good night man, you guys.
Letter doctor Love will be here taking over for me
perfect did he know? But that's so true? Is this
feels reminiscent of that? It really does. It's kind of
gross man, he did so about that.
Speaker 1 (48:00):
Our buddy Wes in Vegas, who you know well as
nowadays Wes a longtime listener and friends of the.
Speaker 2 (48:06):
Show, Wes hell of a must theres.
Speaker 1 (48:09):
Wes was saying, Danny j culture change could happen, but
if the roster of talent's not there, that culture change
lasts for so little. Like you went from Gruden and
I'm sorry McDaniel.
Speaker 2 (48:21):
To McDaniels to Antonio.
Speaker 1 (48:23):
Pierce and at first it was a culture change, but
then at some point it's like, well, you need you
need the talent as well, so the roster also needs
yeah place.
Speaker 11 (48:32):
I also think that you need a clean sweep because
part of the problems inside the Raiders' facility right now
they have leftover McDaniels guys, and now they have pierced guys.
Trying to coexist. As much as that could be a
temporary thing, it can't work in the long run a
lot of times, and we're seeing that play out right
now in Vegas.
Speaker 1 (48:51):
Could I give you the most real life silly analogy,
Kavino and I before Fox Sports Radio. You know, we
worked at ESPN NBC Sports in New York s and
Y for the longest time though, and we still worked
there Serious XM before it was Serious ExM if you remember,
it was Serious satellite radio and XM satellite radio before
(49:14):
they merged, before Pandora came in, before all that stuff.
In the satellite streaming world, there were clearly like XM
guys and Serious guys, XM girls serious girls, And there
was a sense when that merger happened, well, think about it.
They had separate channels that had to merge. It was
a you know, a rock channel on XM and a
(49:36):
rock channel on Serious. So everybody had to coexist. It
was and figured it out. It was very weird. Hey,
there's two seventies channels, right, so who we keeping? Well,
keep that person from XM, that person from Serious. There
was a sense that awkward. There were people I'm speaking
out of my opinion, not officially, but there were people
that I think couldn't stick around because they were hung
(49:58):
up on like, well an ExM guy, I'm a serious guy,
and they were just they couldn't understand the culture shift.
Speaker 2 (50:03):
Was it's a company like they were like, I'm I'm
ex them to the moon.
Speaker 1 (50:07):
It's holding out to old philosophies. Yeah, that was like
what Danny G's getting there.
Speaker 2 (50:10):
It's like, why they why they change the name of
the channel.
Speaker 1 (50:13):
If you want to stick around, you got to be
able to adjust, adjust to new philosophies and really buy
into it. Otherwise it's never gonna work. And that's actively that's.
Speaker 2 (50:21):
A true story. It's hilarious to think about how people
were like, well, we're next, I'm got.
Speaker 1 (50:26):
It was, and I was like, Oh, I'm gonna be
whatever pays me kind of guy. Let's go, I'm a
pays me I'm a pays me type of guy. Well, no,
you know what, I'm gonna in it to win it
kind of guy.
Speaker 9 (50:37):
Man.
Speaker 1 (50:37):
And some people aren't willing to make those adjustments. And
you see that in life and in sports.
Speaker 2 (50:45):
All let's see the Shags's ol come on.
Speaker 14 (50:47):
Whenever we say not to name drop. That means we're
about to name drop.
Speaker 2 (50:52):
Oh my goodness.
Speaker 14 (50:53):
Not only our CNR friends with Tyson and mahomes hey man,
they're also buddies with the Big Interest.
Speaker 13 (51:02):

Speaker 3 (52:29):
Here you go.
Speaker 11 (52:30):
The first contestant with two correct answers is the champion.
If there's a tie, we have a tiebreaker. I'm bringing
the boom. They'll be the other rules. I'm gonna make
the rules. We have a tie breaking book question. If
we need it, your name is your buzzer. You do
have to wait until all three possible answers are read, though.
If there's two wrong answers in a row, we move
on to the next question. Are you ready? Let's get
it on.
Speaker 13 (52:49):
Let's get this big Arristotle Party started Sports team has
the worst record so far in the Boring ass NBA
switch team has the worst record so far, the Pelicans.
Let me give you the be the Wizards or see
the Sixers.
Speaker 11 (53:05):
Run Ron quick on the buzzer Wizard the Wizards, Yes,
thirteen yeah, two wins.
Speaker 2 (53:14):
They should magically figure it out. National Boring Association, so boring,
so boring.
Speaker 7 (53:20):
You need more drama, more storyline for the Emeralds NBA
cop and I'm excited to make some wagers on them
as well.
Speaker 2 (53:26):
They better bring the boom. Yes, tied. Round two? Round
two we go run on the board.
Speaker 3 (53:33):
So far?
Speaker 2 (53:33):
How many everyp awards did the Great Cream jabar win?
What kind of awards? Every peer awards? Okay, how many
every per awards the Great Cream jabbar win? A six?
B five or C four? Rich oh Rich got in there?
Speaker 3 (53:49):
Four?
Speaker 11 (53:51):
No six, guys, man, the Great Cream had six? All right,
So Ron the only one on the board still is
we moved around three?
Speaker 2 (54:05):
All right? Round three.
Speaker 13 (54:06):
Shaquille O'Neal, who was the first player to be drafted
straight out of high school. Hey, Sean kemp Be, Moses
Malone or ce dal Dawkins.
Speaker 2 (54:15):
Ron Ron for the win. Quick, Yes, where to go
drafted by the six years. I love a high school
with seventy four, I love nineteen seventy Shack trivia, nineteen
seventy four. Good year.
Speaker 1 (54:30):
Moses Malone also shouted out in what song that would
be basketball?
Speaker 2 (54:35):
Yeah, Moses Malone, any other brainbusters?
Speaker 11 (54:40):
Ron, we are gonna mail out a shiny new sea
in our swiggy to Saint Louis for you.
Speaker 2 (54:45):
Thank you so much. Yeah, thank you for regulations, thank you,
thank you for being excited. You know the NBA ratings.
Wait can I go now? Yeah, Shack, have a good day, man,
it's really quick. Shock. I came here for what we
waited to see you. I'll see you next week. Four minutes. Buddy.
He is huge.
Speaker 1 (55:06):
He didn't chashits. I mean he does those like general commercials.
You think he really fits in that little car.
Speaker 2 (55:10):
He is huge. But he says the NBA is real boring. Now, yeah,
you know he said. He said the NBA. I was
talking to him in the lobby.
Speaker 1 (55:16):
Said NBA needs more storylines and more drama in that
the finals last year really set up for low expectations
this year. But I've been excited about Danny G's Lakers.
It's ramping up a little bit. At least Connect four
gave us a little bit of excitement. Yeah, that's been fun.
That was a cool moment where he got he got
a you know, a little hot. But I do have
(55:37):
to ask, do we all buy into the heaven up
three pointers? Softer NBA game really does translate to weaker ratings?
Or is it ratings or could it be but weaker
ratings because old people. We already said this, We established
this yere on the show. I'm sure other people said
it too, though, but we said, younger people aren't watching TV.
(55:59):
They're the ones that love three point shots. Go to
any playground, it's young people throwing up threes. Go to
any gym, young people throwing up threes. That's the game
the love, that's the game they play. But they're not
consuming the sport the way old people do. So it
depends who you're trying to appease here. Old people want
to see you, you know, driving to the basket. They
don't want to see your three point show. Or could
it be that in eighty two game schedule where players
(56:23):
sort of play when they want to play, and no
one's playing back to back games if they're a star
and it's on the road, and you do see that
there is an insignificance in the regular season when not
only do eight teams automatically make it, now they got
the other teams playing for the playing round, Like you
got to be awful to not have a chance at
the postseason. Do you think there's a layer of that.
Speaker 2 (56:45):
I think it's actually a very good assessment.
Speaker 1 (56:47):
Right, I mean, when there's ten teams in each conference
that have a shot at the postseason, what significance is
it put.
Speaker 2 (56:53):
On eighty two regular season games.
Speaker 7 (56:54):
I also felt back in the day seating mattered. Of
course it was only top to Now you're like, okay,
I want to face this team, but I'd rather be
a you know, a four seed than a three seed
because this team didn't care as much, so they're.
Speaker 2 (57:09):
Not the one seed that they should have been the
one seed.
Speaker 8 (57:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (57:12):
Yeah, Like back then, it was just like, man, I
hope we don't have to face Boston in the semi finals.
Like that's that was as simple as it was.
Speaker 1 (57:19):
But I do agree with Shaq shak Fu who thinks
we need more drama and storyline like we had rivalry pack.
Speaker 2 (57:25):
But there's also a part of it.
Speaker 1 (57:26):
Now you get a little buddy chummy in every on
every court, but you got to also say, well, to
be careful what you're saying then, because the minute like
a guy with Draymond Green brings the boom and he's
fighting people and being a little feisty. That's that's shutdown
real quick. I care you don't got to knock your
teammates out. Say you want drama. Right Tomorrow, we'll get
(57:48):
some contestants on the phone. We'll get some swiggies up
for grabs, give away some extra prizes. Danny, it is
the Thanksgiving week. We're thankful for everybody. I think we
should play a little game of does Rich's mom know?
Will Rich's mom know? We'll figure it out tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (58:06):
How would your mom say it? Really?
Speaker 1 (58:07):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (58:08):
How is your mom Richie? Oh, Richie? I don't know?
Will gee, Richie. I'm not sure about this one.
Speaker 1 (58:16):
And listen, my mom's very East Coast, so she sounds
a little like Edith Bunker.
Speaker 2 (58:20):
Oh high, they will Rich's mom no. So we'll play
around to that tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (58:25):
And it's gonna be all questions from the eighties until now,
the extent of my life. It could be questions like
will Rich's mom know who did Rocky fight in Rocky for?
Speaker 2 (58:39):
I don't know, mister t wrong, Mom, Drago nice?
Speaker 3 (58:43):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (58:43):
It could be questions like, mom, what year did your
Raiders in Jim Plunkett win the Super Bowl in the eighties.
That's tomorrow on our hump days. I see what mom
knows heading into the greatest party night of the year.
Speaker 2 (59:00):
The kids do that anymore?
Speaker 6 (59:01):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (59:02):
Sure, I don't know, man of college kids come home.
Speaker 1 (59:06):
Based on the conversation earlier today, we made it seem
like kids only communicate on social media. You really think
the night before Thanksgiving has the same pizzazz.
Speaker 2 (59:13):
It had back in the kids don't party.
Speaker 1 (59:16):
Tell that to Arizona State, who's punished for storming the
field during the BYU win.
Speaker 2 (59:21):
You know that's what you know?
Speaker 1 (59:23):
Our video producer Spot, Yeah, I feel like there's very
few things I'm jealous of when.
Speaker 2 (59:28):
It comes to him. Kids still party, man, But one
thing I'm gonna tell him.
Speaker 3 (59:31):
You said that.
Speaker 1 (59:31):
By the way, Hey, can we isolate that clip and
send it to Spot? You know, our video guy, Spot.
Very few things I'm jealous of when it comes to him.
But he was at the University of Maryland when they
won the NCAA tournament and he said the party on
campus in three it was his senior year.
Speaker 2 (59:49):
He said that place was wild.
Speaker 1 (59:52):
And I've never been at a championship winning game college
or the pros where everyone stormed the field.
Speaker 2 (59:59):
Well, this is a truth.
Speaker 1 (01:00:00):
Sorry, Arizona State punished. The Big Twelve Conference announced a
twenty five thousand dollars fine, which is peanuts in the
grand scheme of college money. But they stormed the field
during the by win. They stormed it twice twenty first times.
Really got him in trouble. Yeah, and just recently, Danny
g shared a clip where your son stormed the field
in Oklahoma upset Alabama.
Speaker 11 (01:00:21):
Yeah, Sooner pride man, he was down there filming it.
I sent the video clip to you guys.
Speaker 1 (01:00:27):
Nowadays, college is really the only place you could really
get a weight. Well, they're not getting away if they're
getting getting fined. But when you see these old highlights
of like Chris Chambliss trying to barricade his way or
Reggie Jackson barrel and fans over trying to get back
to the dugout because the fans storm the field.
Speaker 2 (01:00:45):
You're not gonna see that anymore. You just don't. I
would love to do that, though.
Speaker 1 (01:00:49):
I think if you had the opportunity to do that
in college or like your son did, Danny g.
Speaker 2 (01:00:54):
You're really living it up, man, that must be a
great feeling. Nothing makes me laugh more. I've never done it?
Speaker 10 (01:00:58):
Have you ever done There's still plenty of court and
field storm and going on the problem with Alabama and
Oklahoma is there were still twenty four seconds left in
the game. Yeah, kids haven't even done it though, Sam
I did Iowa upset undefeated Penn State and Jill's name. Oh,
is it as cool as I was cool? Save it
for those top five upsets. Don't do it for like
number fourteen. B Yu, I've never done it. Rich Have
(01:01:19):
you ever done it?
Speaker 1 (01:01:20):
I've never done it, but I think everyone's thinking the
same clip I am. Do you remember the girl that
went to jump on the field and she jumped into
the bushes the best?
Speaker 2 (01:01:29):
I love that clip. She disappears into a bush, she
just jumps and it's like, where'd you go? She jumped
in some some hedges
