Speaker 4 (00:19):
That's right, the world wide leaders of nonsense are not here,
but we are welcome to Fox Sports Radio, Covino and
Rich taking It's not the day off. I'm pretty sure
they worked earlier today, but here we are. I'm Monty
Bolagos alongside all former All Pro safety Carrie Roads, hanging
out with you on this Black Friday, Carrie our four. Yeah,
(00:42):
how did we get here? I don't feel like we
just started.
Speaker 1 (00:45):
This is the start of the show and this is
the first segment we've done today. Right, This is it? Right?
Speaker 4 (00:50):
I cannot believe it. If you have hung out with
us for four hours going on the fourth hour, thank
you so much. We appreciate it. We've been having fun.
Not everyone's having fun though. Out of Chicago, Matt Eberflus
is not having fun. Yes, the Chicago Bears, after losing
six in a row, a very rough one last night
that I think most of us watching were scratching our
heads or yelling at the TV one of the other.
(01:13):
They lost to the Lions in a game where everyone
expected over time and it did not go that way.
For Chicago, Matt eber Flu's malpractice as a coach not
using his final time out to set up his team
for success in a moment that you should have hit
a field goal and gone to overtime. So for the
first time in the Chicago Bears organization, they have fired
(01:35):
a coach mid season. Carrie.
Speaker 1 (01:37):
Yes, this is one that they had no choice but
to do it. And then you know, for it to
be a Thanksgiving Thanksgiving Day game and all eyes to
be on that game, the first one, the first game
of the day, prime time, Turkey time, Thanksgiven time. And
I gonna say turkey because that's that's offending to you none.
Speaker 4 (01:58):
I truly don't care. You eat all the bones. There
you go, I don't care.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
But for everybody to see that in real time, there
was no way around bringing them.
Speaker 4 (02:07):
Back, no, not at all. It really was a very
just tough situation. I mean we all were like, Okay,
so he's gonna get fired. When today tour by the
end of the week.
Speaker 1 (02:16):
Who knows.
Speaker 4 (02:17):
And they did it today. So we'll see what the
Chicago Bears do moving forward. Maybe they make some trades,
you know, trades in sports, carrying most trades, I feel
like it's usually maybe one winner out of a trade.
If not, both are straight up losers in the trade.
(02:37):
Very rarely do we have a win win trade. And
we are literally seeing this before our eyes. The Detroit
Lions just a couple of years ago, trading Matthew Stafford
to the Rams, Rams sending Jared Goff because they thought
he couldn't do it. Rams already won a Super Bowl,
and here are the Lions dominating first for career start,
(03:01):
first ever start in their organization to eleven and one
like this was a rare win win trade.
Speaker 1 (03:10):
It was, and I think that the you know, obviously, yes,
you get Matthew Stafford and you get that immediate return,
and it looks genius, and you look like you're sending
a cast a cast away, a cast off player to
to go to Detroit and perish, And that just didn't happen.
He went there and rejuvenated his career and also got
(03:32):
with the coach that believed in him, and you can
see the you can see how that that energy from
top had you know, GM head coach, quarterback, that synergy
was there with the incordinator, start all of it. And
now you see this team and where they are right
now with the golf. I was so happy for that guy, so.
Speaker 4 (03:52):
Happy for that because imagine being told you're not good
enough for us to win the Super Bowl. Exactly everybody
knew that that was the discourse. You are being sent
away by Sean McVay because he does not believe in you. Yes,
shows up in Detroit and like you said, from top
to bottom, which is why we discussed maybe Dan Campbell
is the coach of the year when there is an
argument for so many coaches. If you didn't hear the segment,
(04:15):
well I'll go back and listen to the podcasts because
it's it's a really great conversation. But Dan Campbell and
what the Lions have done over the last three four
years has been really great to watch. And in a
situation again where you don't see a lot of win
win trades, now, I did think of a few win
win trades because there's not many. And then let's see
what what do you think of this one in two
(04:37):
thousand and four when the Chargers traded Eli Manning to
the Giants in exchange for Philip Rivers. Now, I know
Rivers did not win a super Bowl, he got to
a conference championship game, but I feel like that was
win win. Both of them are Hall of Fame quarterbacks.
Wouldn't you say that win win? And obviously Eli Manning
saying I don't want to play here that pushed the trade.
(04:58):
But that was one of those rare win win win. Okay,
what about the Vikings trading Stefond Digs to the Bills
because in exchange in that trade they got a first
round pick that ended up being Justin Justin Jefferson.
Speaker 1 (05:10):
Definitely win a win win, even.
Speaker 4 (05:13):
Though right now the Bills without Stefande's But that's a
win win. You got to a good player here, they
got a good player over there. Very rarely do you
have a win win. I got another one for you,
and this is my last one. This is a hard win.
This is my last one. If we want to talk
about all the bad ones, unless somebody here has a
win win, I don't know, Martin. If you have a
win win trade in your head, you can jump in,
(05:33):
but we're we are gonna talk about some bad ones.
But the last win win trade I have here when
the Lakers traded Shaquille on the On to Miami in
exchange for lamar Odom, Kron Butler other players. The reason
I said this was a win win is because Miami
wins a championship. Yes, not too far after that, the
Lakers win and won a championship, and lamar Oden was there.
Speaker 1 (05:51):
They had to get another addition though they got.
Speaker 4 (05:55):
Yes, they did bring in Powell, ye, but that ended
up working out for the Lake in the end.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
Yes, for sure.
Speaker 4 (06:01):
And sometimes these trades you do have to kind of
wait right to see what happens. And that's why I
brought that one up. Martin, you have a win win trade. Mark.
Can we turn on Martin's Mike please, And.
Speaker 1 (06:13):
Thank you Stafford for golf.
Speaker 4 (06:16):
Thank you for listening to the second.
Speaker 1 (06:17):
You're not listening at all. I just walked in. That
was the first one.
Speaker 4 (06:21):
That was the first one we talked about.
Speaker 2 (06:23):
I was trying to explain to Mary Mack that the
pie that I bought was actually very good.
Speaker 4 (06:26):
But do you want to share with the listeners what
kind of pie you bought.
Speaker 2 (06:30):
I had never heard of it before, but a chocolate
brownie pea campie. It tasted exactly as you would expect
a chocolate brownie pea campie to taste.
Speaker 1 (06:41):
Like, we're getting a double a double thumb.
Speaker 4 (06:42):
Down from Mary. But I did. Shaye liked it, and
so did Ryan.
Speaker 1 (06:47):
Ryan liked it. So it's it's off the beating past.
But it's an enjoyable journey.
Speaker 4 (06:53):
Is it very rich?
Speaker 5 (06:54):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (06:54):
Yeah, no, it's like a good I have it in
my mouth right now.
Speaker 4 (06:58):
Yes, we can see that.
Speaker 1 (06:59):
I see you didn't hear it. But it's great. It's great.
Speaker 4 (07:02):
Yeah, that's a discussing concept.
Speaker 1 (07:04):
Okay, I get out of here.
Speaker 4 (07:06):
You are losing three to one.
Speaker 1 (07:08):
Get out of here.
Speaker 4 (07:08):
Mary, You're losing three to one, is what I'm saying.
So I don't I don't know if I could take
your word for it. After the show, I'm gonna have
to have a bite.
Speaker 1 (07:17):
Lose trade.
Speaker 4 (07:18):
Yeah, that's that's some way to lose trade right there.
Back to trades carried. There are so many bad ones.
In fact, we can talk right now Timberwolves knicks right now.
Speaker 1 (07:29):
See too early, it's too early, okay, But I'm with you.
I said that early too. I said, is there a
trade where both teams lose and get worse? But the
Knicks have picked it up and they're starting to look
like the team that we think they will be Minnesota. Now,
it may end up being a bad trade for them,
but that's not a lose lose. It's gonna be a
win for the Knicks. They're going to be really good.
(07:50):
The Timberwolves, I don't think so.
Speaker 4 (07:53):
Yeah, And when that trade happened, I actually was like,
did anyone get better?
Speaker 1 (07:57):
I agree, yeah, right, I thought.
Speaker 4 (07:58):
We're just okay, we're swapping in one apple for another apple.
It's how I originally looked at it. But all of
a sudden, Karl Anthony Towns seems to like New York
and seems to like playing next to Jalen Brunson. Yes,
I'm a little bit surprised because the few games I
have watched here at work, because we get all the channels.
Unless it's a national game, it's hard to watch it, right.
But when you're here, I'm like, man like, he does
(08:20):
look very comfortable in this system that they're playing here
in New York. And then you go to the Timberwolves,
where it's like you have Anthony Edwards, you kept Rudy Gobert,
which you know wherever. But they are not playing well
and they look messy for a team that you only
made one swap. Why do you look so messy?
Speaker 1 (08:42):
Well, it's they're not constructed, right, it's not a proper fit. Right.
Randall is a ball dominant guy. Yeah, even in New York, right,
even with Jalen, there will be moments of it's my turn,
your turn. That's not the case in Minnesota. Your identity
last year was defensively, So you can talk about all
(09:03):
the offense in the way the fit was, but defensively,
Randall's not an upgrade. And so you're also putting the
guy that's not a floor spacer the way that kr
Anthony Towns is. Either he can't shoot as well as Towns.
It's streaky, but he's not as solid, solid of a
shooter as Towns is. And he's a defensive liability. And
so Carl Towns wasn't great defensively, but he put an effort.
(09:24):
I don't see that with Randall, and so it's gonna
take a lot more time for them with you know,
Towns has been good in New.
Speaker 4 (09:29):
York it's almost like with Julius Randall, who I think
he's a good player. He's good, but it's also like
he's stuck in his ways, right, It's almost like that,
like you can't teach an old dog new tricks, and
here you are surrounded by a young dog and a
team that like did play high defense and also moved quickly. Yes,
(09:51):
we talked about that earlier. Again, if you missed any
of our show and just check out the podcast. We've
been here for a long time. But we talked about
how like there's a lot of NBA players that just
or a lot of NBA t that are instead of
physic physically, they're trying to be quick and move around
and you catch me, I'm gonna shoot seventy five threes.
They Timberwooves were shooting threes last year, but also playing
(10:12):
defense and also using a little bit of more of
the fundamental side of it. But yeah, how do you
bring in.
Speaker 1 (10:18):
They didn't shoot as many threes as as they're shooting
right now, I'm sure, and that's part of the thing
as well. So at the end of the day, they
have a guy Randall can going to post like towns
occasionally to switch it up to have some type of
flexibility in their offense. But when you have Anthony Edwards,
who your best player obviously is, and he's shooting thirteen
(10:38):
three is a game that's not his strong sooner, so
they're doing things out of character and they're not playing defense,
and so, yes, it looks like a bad trade for
them for sure.
Speaker 4 (10:46):
Early on, like we could be eating our words. Come
you know, for sure, we'll see what happens. But it
does seem like it's not a win win trade, as
most trades are not. And that's the whole point of this.
One of the worst trades that I wrote down in
the NBA. It was, let's go back in time in
the NBA, it was when the Sixers and the Nuggets
and the Lakers and the Magic all did a four
(11:07):
team trade. Dwight Howard went to the Lakers, Andre Goudala
went to the Nuggets, Andrew Binham went to the Sixers.
What happened to Andrew Binam after that, we don't know,
because he lost it. Remember, Yes, Dwight Howard the very
next year left the Lakers because there were rumors he
didn't get along with Kobe Bryant. Yes, Andre Gudala left
the Nuggets the very next year. Yeah, like nobody, nobody,
nobody got anything out of that four team trade except
(11:29):
maybe Orlando being like by Dwight Howard, Yes, but give
us all those picks.
Speaker 1 (11:33):
Yes, And like the Dwight Howard thing is so fun
to discourse around him because he was I mean, the
guy is a Hall of famer. He's a guy that
dominated earlier on in his career, dominated, and people like
almost think about him as like a running joke right now.
And it's actually sad when I talk when I hear
people talk about him in general, it's like, no, that
guy is a top seventy five player probably and a
(11:55):
Hall of famer, and we talked about him like he's
just top liver.
Speaker 4 (11:59):
And you know why I think people talk about him
like that is because he was considered I say this
in a good way, a bit of a goofball. And
when you are a bit of a goofball, I feel
like people think that you can be mean to them
about it. Like if he had more of a stern
type of personality, I don't think he would be getting
this type of like people talking about him. Probably That's
(12:20):
just my guess because he was a bit of a
fun guy, a goofball. And it's like, oh, now I
agree because I think of Dwight Howard back then when
he was superman like legit could not that. That dude
was so fun to watch, and then now you act
like he was not great when he was great for
several years he led or to the championship, the championship
(12:41):
with his own team by himself. Who else was it?
Who was he playing with? Do you remember off the
top of your j.
Speaker 1 (12:46):
Was on that team?
Speaker 4 (12:48):
Redick shooting?
Speaker 5 (12:49):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (12:49):
Probably Nelson, all said, and all those guys on that team.
Speaker 4 (12:55):
He look at you, I can tear you going back
in time, you said, turglu I went back to the
Sacramento Kings. To be honest with you, that's how dupe
I went there. But yeah, we'll see again with Carl
Anthony Towns and the Knicks and the Timberwolves how this ends.
But to get a win win trade like the Lions
(13:18):
and the Rams, I don't know if we're ever gonna
see something like that, So congratulations to them. On the
other side, we got to talk a little bit of
the second year quarterbacks in the NFL. Carrie, I don't
know if anyone has really talked and dove into the
sophomore year for these We're gonna dive right on it.
(13:39):
So don't go anywhere. This is Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 5 (13:42):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at foxsports Radio

Speaker 4 (13:54):
Yeah, welcome to Fox Sports Radio. You are tuning in
to Caveno and Rich, but fellas are out. I'm here
Monty Bilano's alongside former All Pro safety Carrie Rhoads. And
if you've been tuning in for the entire three plus hours,
we appreciate it. If you were just tuning in on
the other side and I told you we were going
to talk about second year quarterbacks, forget that, guys, because
(14:15):
things happen in sports and then you have to just
go with it. So the Raiders Chiefs, that game just
ended in a disappointing, shocking, bad, unfortunate way for the
Las Vegas.
Speaker 1 (14:32):
A series of unfortunate.
Speaker 4 (14:34):
Events, a series of unfortunate events that just kept on giving.
So we'll start with the first initial bad part for
the Raiders.
Speaker 6 (14:44):
Yeah, a fifty eight yuard attempt to try to give
the Raiders the lead. The kick is a line drive tick.
It is way short by Daniel Carlson. He came in
seventeen straight. He's missed three in this game. Fifty five,
fifty six, fifty eight.
Speaker 4 (15:01):
That was Raider Nation radio. As you can tell a
missed field goal. They missed three field goals. The Raiders
were in this game the entire time, had multiple chances.
Missed that one. But then things get worse, Carrie.
Speaker 1 (15:17):
Yes, this has got to be either on the sideline
or quicktoril. They stopped and O'Connor wasn't ready.
Speaker 4 (15:23):
The balls on the turf and the Chiefs Health.
Speaker 1 (15:25):
Of Footballs black down. Please be a false start. Otherwise
this game is over a little shift on the offense.
Speaker 3 (15:36):
Decline.
Speaker 1 (15:37):
It seems good recovered the backers pass and take over
first staff. It was not a false start, Yeah I was.
Actually it was a false start, was it? Yes?
Speaker 4 (15:53):
I what happened, Like we saw the snap even O'Connell
was looking up at the sky. I hits him in
the chest and that's the game.
Speaker 1 (16:03):
You know what's crazy about that? He missed three kicks, right,
But we're at the point now where we expect kickers
to make these really long field goals and make him
look routine, which they have. He missed a fifty five yarder,
a fifty six yard and a fifty eight yarder, like
the expectation. They aren't gimmys. But I mean the Raiders
they always play Kansas City tough, and you know it
(16:26):
was gonna come down to something like this. And what
did I say before the game started? I said, the
Chiefs are three points better than everybody else. Everybody they
win this game by two points.
Speaker 4 (16:33):
The Raiders play tough against all tough teams. That's the
reality of it, Martin.
Speaker 2 (16:38):
Yeah, do you know that the Chiefs for the team
that used the third kicker this season, Andrews Carlson's been
the Raiders guy all year.
Speaker 1 (16:45):
That's right.
Speaker 4 (16:46):
I do agree. Now I agree with Carrie that like
these numbers, fifty eight, fifty five yarders, like they're all
they think it's a gimme, and that is not a gimme.
And then we are putting it on this Danuel Carlson
when it's we're asking a lot of him. Now, Yes,
he has been their kicker for a while. Martin is right.
The Chiefs are on their third kicker this season matthew Wright,
(17:09):
who at the end did hit a thirty two yard
field goal to put them up with ten minutes to
go in the game, so there was plenty of time
for the Raiders to do damage and they were going
downfield trying to get it done, and then somehow the
Chiefs win.
Speaker 1 (17:25):
It's you know, I told you, I hate it. I
hate the Chiefs win by two three points every game.
That's like the Ultimates like more than a gut punch.
It's like a it's like a puncture to the stomach.
Like it's like it's it's painful, it's slow. It hurts,
you know, it bleeds out a little bit and you
can patch it up and then you can kind of
go on to the next play and try to move
(17:45):
on and it just kind of seeps through the bandage. Okay,
I'm going a little graphic, but it I'm trying to
tell you it really hurts. It hurts, and it's a
slow hurt too.
Speaker 4 (17:54):
And listen, I get it, you guy. Hating the Chiefs
is easy. I get it. No, I understand if dynasties
you hate them and you love them, and especially in
the NFL, because we just got out of a dynasty. Yes,
so you were literally in another dynasty, which is kind
of annoying. But as I told you during the break,
blame the teams that can't seem to execute against the chiefs.
(18:16):
In the end, everybody's like, oh, the chiefs are aren't
that good. And I get that as well, because they
haven't looked as good as they have in the past. Yeah,
but they find a way to win. And I'm telling you,
I swear I feel like the chiefs purposely just do
what they need to do, like they don't want to
show all their cards. I agree, they know everybody is
trying to beat them, so I feel like, even though
they're not blowing teams out, it's almost like their own strategy.
(18:38):
We're just gonna do what we need to do. Are
we down by three, great, let's go just at least
get a field goal. They're doing there's no way they're
not doing this on purpose of keeping everything just barely
above water.
Speaker 1 (18:52):
I don't know if it's purpose. They're not that good.
I don't think anybody's that good, so like we're gonna
we're not gonna we're gonna throw some of our cards
out here. But I do agree with what you're saying.
They are definitely holding back some of their their explosive
players and stuff like that, for sure. But again, I mean,
I'm trying to piggyback off that long field goal thing,
the fifty five, fifty six, fifty eight. He has to
(19:14):
make them though, that's his job. I mean, it's his job.
But I'm saying, like, just the people are expecting that
these are easy kicks. They're not.
Speaker 4 (19:22):
They're not, and you're and if you think about it,
you make one of those, you win one and you
missed three.
Speaker 1 (19:27):
Three. He had one job.
Speaker 4 (19:29):
He had one job from our Raider fan here. Uh,
he's very upset.
Speaker 1 (19:34):
He's upset.
Speaker 4 (19:35):
He's upset Ryan, our technical producer, who has been great,
but he's not right now. Do you need a drink
a cocktail?
Speaker 1 (19:42):
Oh, don't worry. That'll be taking care of it after
my shift. Don't worry.
Speaker 4 (19:46):
That's probably how a lot of Raiders fans feel throughout
the season because like the Raiders play tough against tough teams, yep,
every single time. Like give it up to them for that.
You know, you know they're not going to just take
the beating and away. They're gonna they're gonna fight to
the end and it just doesn't always come out in
their favor. But we see them beat teams like Baltimore
and the Chiefs last year during Christmas Christmas even on
(20:09):
those games, and here they had it. They had the
opportunity to give the Chiefs their second loss of the season.
Speaker 1 (20:14):
And they could have backed this. What this win could
have done for them more than anything, is given them
the opportunity to keep going with the Muppet thing that
they had with with with Patrick Mahomes. You know, they
they talked about that earlier. They definitely threw some shade
out there and they could have backed it up today.
Speaker 4 (20:31):
But they could have brought it out a little short. Yeah,
I felt a little short. Listen, I don't want to
just talk. We did have positive talk about the Raiders
earlier when we were talking about Max Crosby. I feel
like we should also give a little bit of love
to Brock Bowers.
Speaker 1 (20:44):
Brock is a beast.
Speaker 4 (20:45):
Barrock is a beast.
Speaker 1 (20:46):
Yes it is.
Speaker 4 (20:47):
Did you know he was going to be this beast?
You felt it?
Speaker 1 (20:50):
Yeah, the way the immediate, immediate impact, immediate impact, immediate,
it didn't matter where you went. I mean, I thought
he was top five talent coming into this draft, and
so you know, you see some times like the Jets.
We talked. We weren't going to talk about the Jets,
but they had that fourth pick and I could have
seen them taken him there, Like that's how good I
thought he was.
Speaker 4 (21:08):
I didn't know he would be this good. But I
will tell you what's funny is we have a Guillotine League.
Speaker 1 (21:12):
Right.
Speaker 4 (21:12):
I know you don't do fantasy, we have a Guillotine
League here. And I was not very familiar with like
the app and whatnot, and I hated it. It was
different than last year. And I put like, you know,
players in a queue, right, and I put rock Powers
in my queue and I wasn't paying attention and it
automatically drafted him like third or fourth round. And I
(21:33):
was like, no, this is supposed to be later. This
stupid app just took it. Why And I was so
mad about it. Let me tell you you are. I
am not mad at ten catches, one hundred and forty
yards and a touch and a touddy rock Powers. If
I win the Guillotine League, it's because of you. I'm
(21:54):
not kidding. Because it was a bad early pick. I
thought yeah, no.
Speaker 1 (21:58):
No, no, it was on you a favorite Manzi.
Speaker 4 (22:01):
Right on the money. Probably the best, no, not, probably
the best tight end of the season so far in
the NFL.
Speaker 1 (22:06):
That's wise. I don't. I wouldn't know. I don't.
Speaker 4 (22:09):
Travis Kelce has been.
Speaker 1 (22:11):
Mid who I'm trying to think it was, Yeah, probably
Dalton Kincaid, mid Mark and Jews thought it slow.
Speaker 4 (22:16):
Started slow, but still has maybe one or two games.
Lions Titan at Sam Laporta last year was super great.
He's fine. He had two touchdowns yesterday, but he wasn't.
He hasn't been doing that all season. Literally. Brock Bauers
has been the Raiders consistent guy game after game. And
it's unfortunate that the Raiders record is to and ten
(22:37):
because they do have certain pieces on their roster that
you know, you're you're like, this is what I want,
this is the type of player I want. And Aidan
O'Connell twenty three of thirty five, three hundred and forty
yards and two touchdowns the chief defense against the Chiefs defense.
Speaker 1 (22:51):
That's pretty good.
Speaker 4 (22:53):
Yeah. I let me say we did see him get sacked,
which you called. Remember that we were watching the game
and Carri's like he's about to get sacked, and literally
he manifested it, got sacked three sacks. I thought it
was gonna be a little Patrick Mahomes sacked five times?
Speaker 1 (23:05):
Oh really? Yes?
Speaker 4 (23:06):
Again?
Speaker 1 (23:07):
How many did Max get in that game?
Speaker 4 (23:08):
Shay doing? How many sacks Max Crosby got in this
game against Patrick.
Speaker 1 (23:12):
Mahomes two seconds?
Speaker 4 (23:14):
Two seconds? Thank you? Sorry putting them on?
Speaker 1 (23:16):
No, he had a half sack earlier. Did he get
another one later? So he got a full sack? Yeah,
he's a full sack. There you go?
Speaker 4 (23:23):
All right? All right? Wow?
Speaker 1 (23:25):
Four QB hits prescuous. Yep, for sure, QB hits four
total tackles.
Speaker 4 (23:29):
Ye, Well, way to go, Max Crosby. Again, we've been
here a while, but you know, if you haven't listened
to the show.
Speaker 1 (23:34):
Yeah, this hour on Covino and Rich is brought to
you by DraftKings. The NBA Cup is back. You can
win big at Draft Kings sports Book, an official sports
betting partner of the NBA, and you can boost your
winnings on tonight's games with Draft Kings NBA Cup double
up promotion.
Speaker 4 (23:49):
That's right, that is right, And now let's chick in
with Morton to tell us what's going on?
Speaker 1 (23:58):
A disaster after disaster for Vegas.
Speaker 2 (24:03):
As I mean, they had so many opportunities to win
this game, namely three of them that were missed field goals,
one blocked, but not even getting a field goal attempt
to end the game. I mean, let's just say it.
It's Ibra Flucian.
Speaker 4 (24:18):
I was gonna say, Walt's worse what the Bears did?
Speaker 1 (24:21):
Or what what the Bears did?
Speaker 5 (24:23):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (24:23):
What was definitely I was gonna let you guys out
of the floor.
Speaker 2 (24:26):
But I was like, definitely so well, last snap of
the game, Aidan O'Connell was not ready for it ends
up hitting him in the chest. Nick Bolton recovers the
fumble and that'll do it. Kansas City nineteen Raiders seventeen
in a game which they missed three field goals and
(24:47):
did not attempt the game winning potential field goal. Aidan
O'Connell had three hundred and forty yards through the air
twenty three or thirty five for two touchdowns.
Speaker 1 (24:56):
Raiders rushed. Raiders out rushed the Chiefs one hundred. We're
in sixteen yards to sixty three.
Speaker 7 (25:02):
Whoa Isaiah Pacheco was the leading rusher for Kansas City
with forty four yards.
Speaker 1 (25:07):
He had thirty four on one carry.
Speaker 2 (25:09):
Patrick Mahomes barely gone over for three hundred yards, passing
only one touchdown, was sacked five times in this game.
Speaker 1 (25:15):
And Vegas goes home losers. Vegas goes home losers.
Speaker 4 (25:19):
That's you want to hear it in Vegas.
Speaker 1 (25:20):
No. I was about to say anybody going home losing
at Vegas.
Speaker 7 (25:23):
Is yeah, most people leave Vegas losers going home to
Vegas is being losers.
Speaker 1 (25:28):
That's that's a tough one.
Speaker 7 (25:29):
Speaking of losers, that's rough. Matti Ebraflus fired by the
Chicago Bears. He lives with a fourteen to thirty two
record as the head coach. Offensive coordonat of Thomas Brown
will take over as the interim head coach. And other
NFL news, Shane Steiken ruled out Josh Downs and Ashton
Doolan for Sunday's game against the Patriots. Jaguars head coach
Doug Peterson says Trevor Lawrence will play Sunday against the
(25:49):
Houston Texans.
Speaker 1 (25:50):
He was almost a month with an ac joint injury in.
Speaker 2 (25:52):
His shoulder, and Bill's Titan Dalton Kincaid will not play
Week thirteen against the forty nine ers.
Speaker 7 (25:58):
In college football result, Colorado beat Oklahoma State fifty two
to nothing. Shador Sanders had five touchdown passes, three of
them were to Travis Hunter. That makes Travis Hunter the
first player of twenty five years of college football to
have three touchdowns from scrimmage as well as an interception.
Deon Sanders said today in his postgame interview that Travis
(26:19):
has locked up the Heisman and shown Shador has shown
why he should be sitting next to him.
Speaker 4 (26:24):
So I don't disagree.
Speaker 1 (26:26):
Yeah, I think he'll be there. Ashton Jating might.
Speaker 2 (26:29):
He had two hundred twenty six yards rushing on thirty
seven carries and a touchdown as Boise State beat Oregon
State thirty four to eighteen, and in the Egg Bowl
Ole Miss and Mississippi State, the Rebels with a twenty
to fourteen lead over the Bulldogs eleven fifty left in
the game.
Speaker 1 (26:44):
Moncei and carry back to you guys.
Speaker 4 (26:45):
Thanks Martin, Appreciate all your work today. Love having you around.
Speaker 1 (26:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (26:51):
Bad for Vegas just in general.
Speaker 1 (26:54):
Vegas is We talked about it. I talked about Pierce earlier. Right,
he'll have those guys motivated to play. Yeah, which they do.
Just can't get over the hume real quick before we.
Speaker 4 (27:04):
Move on to the to the next fun segment. As
we're gonna end the show, How did you feel? I
don't know if you saw I'm blanking on the Patriots.
Gerdmeo a couple of days ago had had comments after
a game and he was just like, I can't do
anything once they go out there.
Speaker 1 (27:20):
The wai lines. Yeah, I saw that.
Speaker 4 (27:22):
Did those comments bother you or do you like? Are
you like, yeah, like once they're out there, they're out there.
Speaker 1 (27:27):
No, I understand what he's saying. What he's saying, Yeah,
you don't say that.
Speaker 4 (27:29):
Though, you don't say that, say that, you don't say
it out loud.
Speaker 1 (27:32):
No, because yes, between the between the lines, they got
to go make the plays. But there are positions as
a coach, as an assistant coach, defensive coordinator, that you're
putting him in the best position to be successful. So
if he if he said that comment would comments with
some nuance, it would be a different conversation. But the
way he.
Speaker 4 (27:48):
Said it, the way he said it kind of deflecting blame. Yes,
it wasn't. Yes, I kind of agree with it because
it's like, I get what you're saying. Yes, and he's
right to an extent, but it was like, I don't
I don't think it. It landed the way he thought.
I don't think. So you are listening to Cavino and
Rich on Fox Sports Radio. We are coming to you
live from the tyreq dot com studios. I am Manci
(28:09):
Bolanyas alongside Form are all pro safety and we have
a new segment happening right now. Let's let's get it going.
Are we ready? Why not?
Speaker 1 (28:20):
He's his co host. We can win you a game.
Speaker 5 (28:23):
She's his co host sometimes and they all work together
on Sundays.
Speaker 4 (28:29):
That's crazy.
Speaker 5 (28:32):
But the real question is who knows fire best.
Speaker 1 (28:35):
Let's find out. I think Month is gonna win. But
I had confidence going in.
Speaker 4 (28:40):
I really don't. I don't know the questions bre handle this?
They so is this like we're just guessing our show?
Speaker 1 (28:48):
So multiple Choice.
Speaker 3 (28:50):
There are going to be three different categories, fun and random, sports,
and then food and drink. I'm gonna start with sports
just because this is a sports show. Sure, but yeah,
it's multiple choice. You tell me what And basically, Mancy
and Carrie just say Monty and Kerry as your buzzer. Okay,
kind of the same thing as a trivia game, but
it's about Dan Bier. Oh Man, here we go, and
I don't know if you guys, if you got Dan
(29:11):
Byer is a good friend of all of ours. He's
also a host and an update anchor at Fox Sports Radio.
You can hear him on Doug Gottlieb and you can
hear him Mancavino and Rich. He's not here today because
he he's getting much deserved time off.
Speaker 4 (29:23):
But trust me, he's bummed that he's not here.
Speaker 3 (29:25):
I'll be sending him the audio still. But let's get
right into it. So who is his favorite athlete? Jim Jackson,
Joannice and to take Toombo or Steve Largent.
Speaker 4 (29:38):
Monty Jim Jackson.
Speaker 1 (29:39):
Nope, oh you got it. She is correct. It is
Jim Jackson. I definitely was thinking, largely because Seattle. So
it's not honest.
Speaker 3 (29:51):
It's it couldn't be honest. So if forced would he
rather wear a Wolverines jersey or a Rams jersey?
Speaker 1 (30:00):
Definitely a Rams jersey and it's not even close.
Speaker 4 (30:06):
That's good.
Speaker 3 (30:08):
Which historical sporting event was the most devastating slash traumatizing
to him. There's one right answer in two wrong answers.
In this one, super Bowl forty nine, Pats defeated the
Seahawks twenty eight twenty four, nineteen ninety two Southeast Regional
Final NCAA Tournament, Ohio State lost in overtime to the
Fab five Michigan Or Super Bowl forty the Steelers defeated
(30:30):
the Seahawks twenty one to ten.
Speaker 1 (30:33):
Carrie Kerry, Yeah, I'll go the first one I can't remember.
Speaker 4 (30:38):
Then, okay, Manti Nazi, I'm gonna go with Ohio State.
Speaker 3 (30:43):
Yep, yeah, in overtime to the Fab five, Big time heartbreak.
Speaker 4 (30:49):
The only reason I picked I think his fandom for
Ohio State is a tiny bit bigger great right then
the Seahawks. That's the only reason why.
Speaker 3 (30:57):
Yeah, Okay, So this one's a little bit more about him,
but it's sports. Would Dan rather win the MVP of
a team or be part of a team championship?
Speaker 1 (31:05):
Carry?
Speaker 5 (31:06):
Carry?
Speaker 1 (31:08):
Knowing Dan is the MVP? Yeah, he's right, a little
selfish of him, but it is right.
Speaker 4 (31:15):
I was gonna guess the other one on that.
Speaker 1 (31:17):
I was gonna guess the championship because let me tell
you why because I know, like he's got like an
affection for like accumulating things. He likes to bring the
hill that's the mini hill men. You're right, he brings
this little participation in trophy that he had in high school.
I mean was it grade school? So he likes those.
Speaker 4 (31:33):
But he's such a team player, you know what I mean.
So that's why I thought. That's why I was gonna
leave the other ways. How funny?
Speaker 3 (31:39):
All right, guys, we're gonna go on to food or
drink or fun and random? Which one did you guys rather.
Speaker 4 (31:44):
Do foot drink? Because'm hungry?
Speaker 1 (31:46):
Food or drink? What is his Starbucks order?
Speaker 3 (31:48):
And remember this is multiple choice venty black iced tea,
venty coldbrew, or a Grande white Chocolate Mocha.
Speaker 1 (31:57):
Carrie the White Mocha Chocolate.
Speaker 3 (32:00):
Yep, No, I really thought would get this one too.
Speaker 4 (32:06):
I really thought it was I thought it was green tea,
and you didn't even have that on your list. So
that's why I had no answer.
Speaker 3 (32:13):
What is his this isn't multiple choice, okay, because you
guys should be able to get this one.
Speaker 4 (32:17):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (32:18):
What is his favorite fast food place?
Speaker 4 (32:20):
Manty Manzi, Popeyes, close Carry?
Speaker 1 (32:24):
Do you have you say you don't have choice. Okay,
it's close though, it's close to pop I'm helping out.
You give me a hit on that. It's not KFC,
is it?
Speaker 3 (32:35):
No Manzi? Lest chance? It's close to Chicken, not KOC
or not Popeyes.
Speaker 4 (32:43):
It's not chick fil.
Speaker 3 (32:44):
It is Since nineteen ninety eight, Dan has love Chick
fil A and will stand by Chick fil A until
he dies. I agree with Dan on now me too,
that Chick fil A sauce is something else.
Speaker 1 (32:54):
All right?
Speaker 4 (32:55):
Three and three?
Speaker 1 (32:56):
You guys are yeah, you are wow.
Speaker 4 (32:58):
I feel like we should maybe last one here.
Speaker 1 (33:00):
We're going to do a fun and random one here,
you guys ready and hold on? Let me stand up.
I'll give you guys.
Speaker 4 (33:10):
I'm nervous.
Speaker 1 (33:10):
Are you ready? You guys are ready. Let's do it.
What would be his karaoke sock?
Speaker 3 (33:15):
Oh my Heart will go On by Celine Dion, up
by Naughty by Nature? Or Operator by Jim Krois all right?
Speaker 1 (33:24):
Carry up by Naughty by Nature?
Speaker 4 (33:29):
Manci Operator.
Speaker 1 (33:34):
It was like, it's not my heart will go on
for soon?
Speaker 4 (33:36):
But how great would it have been if that was
the answer and we both ended in a tie.
Speaker 1 (33:42):
That's let's say it was that so we can end
up in the tie because I feel I'm going to
play operate.
Speaker 4 (33:47):
Please. Oh that was pretty good. That was fun. That
was fun, And you know we have actually more questions
in case we ever sit here again. Yes, we can do.
We will sit here again. We'll do a second round.
Don't go anywhere though, We got a little bit more
to go here at Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 5 (34:06):

Ryan, you're the chipmunks.
Speaker 4 (34:25):
It's a chipmunk. Yes, welcome everybody to Fox Sports Radio.
You are tuning into Cavino and Rich, but the fellas
are not here. I am Monci belongas alongside former All
Pro safety Kiri Rhads, and we are coming to you
live from the tire Rack dot Com studios.
Speaker 1 (34:39):
Yes, this hour on Covino and Rich is brought to
you by DraftKings. The NBA Cup is back. You can
win big at DraftKings Sportsbook, an official sports bet partner
of the NBA, and you can boost Joe Winnings on
tonight's games with DraftKings NBA Cup double up promotion.
Speaker 4 (34:55):
That's right, the NBA Cup the only games that matter.
Apparently they some reason care about those. Uh, Carrie and
I are finishing up here. Thank you all for tuning
in on this Black Friday. If you hung out with
us for the entire four hours, we so appreciated. If
you tuned in for five seconds, thank you. We hope
you enjoyed your time with us. Thank you to everybody. Ryan,
(35:15):
our technical producer, upset about the radars, angry, but he's
gonna have some alcohol very soon, no problem. Shay, our
amazing producer keeping us on our toes, telling us you
need to talk about it.
Speaker 1 (35:27):
Thank you, Shay.
Speaker 4 (35:28):
We love and appreciate you. And Martin. Martin, you're you're
gonna be right here, right, he's moving on over here
or the odd couple. Yeah, he's coming on in so
you heard him doing updates. But he's not going anywhere,
So stick around. We are. I know it's quick, we
don't have a lot of time. But did you have
a sophomore slump in the NFL?
Speaker 1 (35:45):
No, My sophomore year was my all pro year, exclase slump.
Speaker 4 (35:50):
Not a sophomore slump at all. You know, that's that's
always a talk surrounding specifically quarterbacks. If we talk about
the second year quarterbacks, we have CJ. Stroud, Bryce Young
and Any Richardson and Will Levis. But in reality, I
think the expectation was obviously the highest for CJ.
Speaker 1 (36:04):
Stroup.
Speaker 4 (36:05):
Yeah, and it's the biggest slump, Yeah, we've seen so far.
Speaker 1 (36:08):
And I don't think it's a slump.
Speaker 4 (36:09):
You don't think it's a slump.
Speaker 1 (36:11):
And that's the conversation around that. It's very easily put
in that position. His offensive line has been bad has
so you can be as good as you want as
a quarterback. If you don't have the time and you're
rushing things because of the inadequacies of your line, you're
going to look like. He looks a little inconsistent, he.
Speaker 4 (36:27):
Looks uncomfortable, yes, and last year he didn't look like that.
So because you know, a lot of times it's like, okay,
there's tape on him now, so you can watch a
little bit of tape. His schedule is harder than it
was last year because last year they came out of
nowhere a great surprise the Texans what they did right,
but now you have a tougher schedule. But you think
it has specifically to do with his O line.
Speaker 1 (36:46):
Yeah, he's a guy that's been steady. He's a guy
that believes in a higher power. He gives that glory
to that person. And so you can see he hasn't
changed as a human being. So his play on the field,
he still can throw, make every throw through all the
things he's just been inconsistent with has try the press
and trying to make up for some of the things.
Speaker 4 (37:02):
I said, Yeah, uncomfortable is like the best word for
me to describe how he looked this year compared to
last year. And I hope you're right. I hope it's
not a slump. And I hope it is because he's
he's great. When he's great, he's so great, right, Bryce Young,
I am so happy for the happy, so happy you
give him a little break and then now he looks comfortable, Yes,
which is something we didn't see all last season. Didn't
(37:25):
see this at the beginning of the season. Give him
a little break. All of a sudden, he looks like
he's starting to feel comfortable in that spot with the Panthers.
Speaker 1 (37:33):
And all these quarterbacks need that, Yes, you cannot be
thrown in the fire. We saw Peyton Manning when he
was a rookie. He threw the most interceptions of being
the quarterback in the league. It takes time, it does,
and you put a guy like Bryce Song on the
team with the Panthers that has no talent at that
time when it first came in. It's tough. But he
looks great and I'm so happy for him for me.
Speaker 4 (37:51):
Too, and I feel like most people feel that way.
Everyone's like rooting for Bryce Young to get out of
whatever it was, that dark cloud that was over him,
because you see him on the sideline and he just
looked so defeated. He looks like that dark cloud is
not there.
Speaker 1 (38:04):
It's like you want your little brother to do well.
He really feels like everybody's everyone's little brother.
Speaker 4 (38:09):
Anthony Richardson, I thought we would see a bigger jump,
to be honest with you, because last year he was hurt.
When we saw him, he was explosive, he was fun,
and then I feel like he's kind of like flat
lined a little bit.
Speaker 1 (38:21):
Yeah, he's gonna it's gonna be tough. He's the youngest
quarterback out of all these guys and so like, even
now the quarterback's coming out of college and this draft
are older than he is. So yeah, it's gonna take time.
He's talented, he's just he hasn't looked good yet.
Speaker 4 (38:34):
No, not yet, not yet. Will Levis love that.
Speaker 1 (38:37):
Man, the Mayo man. Man.
Speaker 4 (38:39):
It's also like, you know he's gonna throw an interception. Yes,
it just at least you know.
Speaker 1 (38:44):
As a defensive player, I'm like, I want to play
that guy. He's gonna throw me one. He may score,
but he's gonna throw me one as well.
Speaker 4 (38:49):
That's right. Guys, thank you so much for joining Carrie
Rhodes and I as we sat in, not just for
Cavino and Rich, but for Doug Gottlieb. We appreciate it
so much. Happy Thanksgiving, Happy Black Friday, Happy Holidays. Go shop,
go have a drink. Thank you. We'll see you next time.
