This is the third NBA game San Antonio and the
New York Knicks played earlier in the day forty two
points eighteen rebounds for victor Winbinyama. Also the Dallas Mavericks
and Minnesota Timberwolves played earlier in Dallas. Minnesota gets to
win there. In football, as Monzi just told you, Kansas
City Chiefs twenty nine to ten. They clinched the number

(01:37):
one seed in the AFC. If you missed us talk
about it, could download the podcast after the show is over.
And Baltimore now up seventeen to two, still late in
the first half against the Houston Texas. All right, VJ,
So it is Christmas Day, and if you listen to us,
we have been on. We filled in for Doug Gottlieb

(01:57):
of the Doug Gottlieb Show earlier in the day at
about two hours ago, round four pm Eastern. What we
did was we gave out some Christmas gifts to h
to some NFL teams. So I gave the gift of
self awareness to Jerry Jones, hoping that he will actually uh,
you know, be smart about how he moves forward In

(02:18):
the off season with Mike McCarthy. Ian planted some something
negative about Woody Johnson, you know, hoping to get him
out as the New York Jets. Owner Chris Purfett wished
health and happiness upon his Detroit Lions, who desperately need it.
You talked a little bit about Dolphins, Monzi talked about
the Los Angeles Chargers. Chris, give us a little music,

(02:40):
and I want to do round two of Christmas Gifts.
And by the way, I will say this too, if
you want to call in share your Christmas gift to
the Coveno and Rich Show one eight seven, seven ninety
nine on Fox one eight seven seven nine nine six
six three six nine.

Speaker 1 (02:59):
So my first Christmas gift here an hour or two.
One of our callers mentioned this last episode, and so
I'm just gonna steal it. I wish the Los Angeles Raiders.
My gift for them is that they I say, Los
Angele Las Vegas. I said, Los Angeles Raiders gifts. Yeah,

(03:21):
they need gifts.

Speaker 3 (03:23):
They needs Because here's the thing about Shador.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
It's not only that he's clearly.

Speaker 3 (03:28):
The best quarterback in the draft. As you said, earlier
when we were filling in for Doug Gottlieb. I don't
believe that Dion is following him to the NFL. But
Chador not only gives you the best quarterback in the draft,
he gives you immediate relevancy where people care like no
disrespecting ten but like bo Nix has been really good.

(03:49):
I don't know that people are tuning in just to
watch bo Nix. Good for him, Broncos are playing well. Whatever,
Shador gives you credibility interest to you point, even if
Coach Prime isn't coaching that team, Coach Prime is kind of.

Speaker 1 (04:04):
In that orbit.

Speaker 3 (04:05):
Yeah, you don't think they're gonna be asking Coach Prime
questions about it every time he does a media availability
as the coach of the Colorado Buffaloes. So that is
my wish for the Las Vegas Raiders. Toughest division in
football right now, get your future quarterback. That also makes
you instantaneously one of the most interesting teams in the league.

Speaker 4 (04:23):
If he leaves Colorado, that would be the only situation
I would want him to go to because I don't
trust the Raiders with his son. Neither shall he My
second gift in the second round go of giving away
presence goes to another team back east that I'm connected with,
got family members live in this city, and they have
a young quarterback there that I am just totally enamored with.

(04:45):
Covered in high school called two of his state championship
games one one one he loss here in Solcal for
a modern day and that is my guy, former Heisman
Trophy winner number one overall. Pick my man, b Why,
mister Bryce Young, I got a gift for you, my man.
I'm gonna give you the receiver from Arizona. Oh okay,
this is McMillan. This guy eighty four catches thirteen nineteen

(05:07):
eight touchdowns. I mean six, five, two twelve. I could
just stop talking right there. Eighteen yards of catch. You
need a bonafide guy. You need a bonafide wr one
that you could say, hey, go get one on third
and twelve, even with his safety playing over top, with
shadow coverage and the Viper rover back shading over in

(05:27):
his area. Just put it up to this young buckaroo
and let this little young whipp a snaper go get
you one. You need one of those, man, because your
best weapon is an over thirty receiver that's not very
fast and it's pretty still competitive decent, but he's got
two lower extremity injuries that cost them parts of seasons.
You need something young, fresh, shiny, something new to play
with man and.

Speaker 3 (05:47):
Just toss that pigskin too. I would think a rookie year,
he could probably.

Speaker 4 (05:51):
Have about ninety catches, thirteen hundred yards, seven eight touchdowns.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
That should help out that offense.

Speaker 4 (05:56):
You just page your running back into but giving him
some bread so you know what you're doing there. They
know what they're setting up there for you. You got blamed
for everything last year. I used to sit and fight
with my co host Martin bro you're bugging your hey
and you just want to go against VJ. I get
it because I said he was gonna be the Moro pig,
and he was. And I said he was gonna be
a beast, and he will be. But you gotta fix
things there in Carolina. So my gift second round goes

(06:17):
to mister Bryce Young. How did a chance to meet
his mom and dad before?

Speaker 1 (06:21):
Too?

Speaker 4 (06:21):
Very lovely people comes from very good cloth human beings.
I'm gifted you the receiver from Arizona, mister Mick Millan
as your Christmas gift.

Speaker 1 (06:30):
This year. Enjoy. You guys are gonna win some games together.

Speaker 3 (06:33):
Four very quick things. One his dad's a therapist, so
my wife's a therapist. So I've literally set my wife
quotes from his dad when he does interviews because he
speaks like a therapist and it's like brilliant guy.

Speaker 1 (06:46):
So that's one. Two.

Speaker 3 (06:48):
I almost went with wide receiver one for Drake May,
So I'm glad that you hit on.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
Okay, And then three two yes it needs one bad.

Speaker 3 (06:56):
And I get I forget what the third what the
fourth point was, but the third point was, you're just
talking about coach Prime Shador. They just posted pictures from
Sea World in San Antonio on Twitter. Remember they are
playing in the Alamo Bowl this weekend.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
We talked about it last hour.

Speaker 3 (07:12):
Travis Hunter, Shadoor Sanders as the maybe number one and
number two overall picks in the draft will be playing
in that bowl game.

Speaker 4 (07:19):
Chris Purfet, real fast before we going there, because you
just threw something that was great. Please, Drake May needs
a number one, Okay, I I think you and I
talked about this last week. If you're the number two pick,
Shador goes one. You don't need a quarterback. You're taking
Travis and you need a receiver, but Travis wants to
play both ways.

Speaker 1 (07:37):
You feel you feel out the dynamics.

Speaker 4 (07:39):
You can't pass on this kid, But do you say, listen,
we want you, but we want you to play receiver.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
And if you're Travis, you go no, I'm playing both.
It don't draft me. That's that way. If the Patriots
end up at number two, they're not taking.

Speaker 4 (07:50):
A quarterback, of course, And if you're trade out, you're
giving up a chance of a generational type.

Speaker 1 (07:55):
Player and a player too.

Speaker 3 (07:57):
By the way, we're just talking about relevancy with Shador Sanders,
some instantaneous relevance.

Speaker 1 (08:01):
I mean the Patriots.

Speaker 3 (08:03):
I know they're the Patriots, but they're yeah, they're they're
they're TV screen number three most Sundays, when you know,
especially in the early window, there's a bunch of games
going on. So my defense to watch they they play tough,
they play tough, they play tough.

Speaker 1 (08:16):
They need some talent, yeah, Chris Purfett.

Speaker 3 (08:19):
By the way, I should mention you real quick one
eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox one eight seven
seven nine nine six six three sixty nine. Feel free
to call in tell us what you want your favorite
team to get as a Christmas gift this year, Chris Purfett,
you got another one for us?

Speaker 1 (08:36):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (08:36):
So am I going back to the Lions or I'm
just kind of going wherever I'm I'm torn here between
two teams that could definitely use you know what, Let's
do the Jaguars.

Speaker 1 (08:45):
Let's talk about the Jaguars.

Speaker 2 (08:47):
This has been This has been almost impossible for me
watching the Jaguars. This is a team that's had like
Trevor Lawrence, the first overall pick, who should be playing
a lot better than he has, but the injuries have
bug them down. The pole over this entire franchise is
kind of bugged them down. Doug Peterson is still as

(09:07):
a coach for I don't know how much longer this
is going to be. You've got the the owner kind
of making overtures. I don't know what the path forward
did is for them. I think if I'm gonna give
them anything, it's it's a fresh start. It feels like
at some point you just need some talent. A lot
of these positions.

Speaker 1 (09:26):
You fire Peterson. I don't like firing guys.

Speaker 2 (09:29):
I don't like firing guys, but I don't think he's
the right coach moving forward for them to start. So
maybe they just need to nail a good Maybe a
brand new coach, a new front office would do great.
Just a whole new organization for them.

Speaker 1 (09:42):
Just real fast. You fired, you fired. My whole thing
is that?

Speaker 3 (09:46):
And I think you've been on the Trevor Lawrence thing
earlier than most. Is like at a certain point, it's
like he's the one commonality here. It's like, ye, Doug
Peterson won a super Bowl, you know, because folds. Yeah,
Because when when Urban got fired, it was oh, I mean,
well that's a clown show and Doug Pearson's gonna come
in and clean everything up. It's it's like, no, no,
it was like, oh, look at what Trevor Lawrence had

(10:07):
to overcome. And it's like, well, now we're starting to
realize that some people got to overcome Trevor Lowris.

Speaker 5 (10:11):
Now.

Speaker 1 (10:11):
Yeah, and he's been banged up.

Speaker 4 (10:13):
And I always say it is people want to talk
about Oose and want to talk about OOS's injuries, just
make sure we talk about all these other high priced
quarterbacks that gets hurt too, that's been getting hurt too,
and Trevor's one of them.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
Well, that's the other one I was going to hand
out for the Cleveland Browns, another team that has had
so much promises out here a release from the that
was Deshaun Watson contract.

Speaker 1 (10:33):
Let me let me jump in on that really quick.

Speaker 3 (10:35):
No, no, no, it's just I mentioned in an hour two
I want to give credit where it's due. I did
just swipe this segment from Colin Cowherd and Jason McIntyre
on Tuesday, and that was one of the gifts that
Colin Cowherd gave out, was like an immunity pass or
something like that to get out of.

Speaker 1 (10:49):
To Shawn Watson.

Speaker 2 (10:50):
I worry the gift is almost too little, too late
at this point we're talking. I mean, I know Colin
was talking about trading Miles Garrett. I disagree with that.
I think you don't let go of a piece like
my Garrett. But the same time, it's starting to feel
like by the time you finally find a way out
from beneath this Deshaun Watson debacle, that age is gonna
be gone. Like this is an O line that's probably

(11:11):
aging out for the This a defense and a NO
line that's probably aging out for the for the Browns.
You've had other injuries that hampered your offensive weapons. Like
that's why it feels like the door is already closing.

Speaker 1 (11:21):
Yeah, and that's why.

Speaker 4 (11:22):
And I was on that three weeks ago, like before
whatever the deadline was, I predicted that they would move
while I was wrong, but they would move on Miles Garrett.

Speaker 1 (11:30):
People called on after that.

Speaker 4 (11:31):
But I've been on that train, and yes, you do
give away a piece like him because you let him
go play somewhere where he can win. Bro, He's not
gonna win there, So I just you almost do it
as a favorite to him, Like why would you do that?
Why would you keep him there? Saying with Mason Crosby,
Because even if you get your door, that's still two
or three years away from it really meaning something. I
thought I called, uh Lashawn Marshall Lattimore. I hit on

(11:55):
that he got traded to the skin to not the skin.
Excuse me, the commanders, everybody back in the DV I
mess up. Still call him this kids cause I got
all these friends back in the d V. I still
call him this kid. But the commanders and I think
it would have been I think it would have been
good business by the front office to move on from him.
You don't keep what are they gonna do with him?
What do you mean lose a piece like him? You
need a whole lot more. It's not just the Sean

(12:17):
all right. Trump's coming back off an A c L.
We don't know what that's gonna look like next year.
It takes a year and a half or two they
really get back to yourself from an ACL. So I'm
definitely I was. I was ahead of the curve on
that one, but I'm went Colin, Yeah, get Garrett. They
should have got him out there to trade deadline. Why
are you holding on to that guy? I thought the
Raider should have done it with Max, Like, why are
you holding on to him? You're not gonna win nothing,

(12:38):
no time to even if you get your door. This
guy's put in his time. Let them Let send him
somewhere to go win bro, send him to a contender.

Speaker 1 (12:46):
Yes, very good.

Speaker 3 (12:46):
By the way, we have officially hit the Beyonce halftime
say portion of the UH Texans Ravens game. Mazi is
exammin out to the update studio. So her Christmas gift
to herself is Beyonce. We're trying to give Christmas gifts
to these NFL teams. Ian, I think we got a

(13:07):
couple of people on the phone. How about Ralph and Queens.
Ralph and Queens, you're on Cavino and Rich Show, Aeron
Torres VJ Husky filling in?

Speaker 1 (13:14):
Who's your favorite team? What gift are you giving? Queens Bridge?

Speaker 6 (13:18):
What up?

Speaker 7 (13:19):
How you doing? Yeah? What off?

Speaker 1 (13:20):
Long Island City? Hey? Great great show?

Speaker 7 (13:22):
Mary Christmas? Happy holidays, mister Mara, if.

Speaker 1 (13:26):
You're listening, please give the Giants fans a new GM.
This has been embarrassing. Man. He was on Hard Knocks
before they let go Saquon.

Speaker 7 (13:34):
Oh yeah, this might have been the most embarrassing year.

Speaker 1 (13:37):
For a GM ever with the quarterback.

Speaker 5 (13:39):
Running back, Saquon's like all time great elsewhere.

Speaker 1 (13:42):
He's gonna division division rival, division rival.

Speaker 3 (13:45):
By the way, it's like he went to It's like
he went to the Seahawks and is doing this. It's
a team that you face twice a year in the division.

Speaker 4 (13:51):
And he said on Netflix he was gonna he's gonna,
you know, something bad is gonna happen to himself if.

Speaker 1 (13:56):
If they heave you went to the Eagles that he did.

Speaker 3 (13:58):
Real quick, Ralph, are you in on bringing back Dable?
Without the GM.

Speaker 1 (14:04):
It's okay, you know, it's whatever.

Speaker 7 (14:06):
But hey man, we cannot trust the GM to make
more decisions going forward, you know, Dave All you know
I don't like to fire people either, but.

Speaker 3 (14:13):
Fire people Christmas. You know you can have a little
a little coal at your heart.

Speaker 7 (14:17):
Yeah. Hey, I'm in enough, say New York. So day Balls.

Speaker 1 (14:20):
You know we like Dave Ball up here too.

Speaker 3 (14:22):
Very good, Ralph. We appreciate the call. Merry Christmas. Okay,
I want to get you a couple more Dick and Dayton.

Speaker 7 (14:28):
You're on y Merry Christmas, guys.

Speaker 1 (14:33):
Show Dick, who's your team and what gift are you giving?

Speaker 7 (14:36):
My team was but this year was the Cleveland Browns
when Stefansky went last year, they need to get a
new They get one quarterback this year, baby, And I
say that Levanski goes and I say they've used it
too many quarterbacks. I would give them maybe a Garth

(14:57):
Rooks tape. But if I'm going to do anything, I
would support Jo Burrow and the Bengals they got. You know,
they've done pretty good with him and Chase. That's my opinion.

Speaker 3 (15:07):
Well, thank you for the call, Dick. That is Dick
in uh and Dayton. He just wants babe, you know. Yeah,
Dick must have a pretty big budget because he was
he was just changing everything with none.

Speaker 1 (15:18):
Of the rules. He's changing teas and stuff. Dick.

Speaker 2 (15:20):
We love you, man, He's got money from the bluegrass acts.

Speaker 1 (15:23):
Yeah, we love you, homie. But yeah, bro, you gotta
stick to the playing bro that was Dick and Dayton.
We are the Covino and Rich Show. Covino and Rich
are out. I got top for one more quick. Yeah,
let's do it.

Speaker 6 (15:35):
Man.

Speaker 4 (15:35):
I'm gonna switch sports. I'm gonna I'm gonna show my range,
my sports range here. I'm gonna give my beloved New
York Rangers and hockey so stelling saut.

Speaker 1 (15:44):
I'm gonna give them some swallowing salt.

Speaker 4 (15:46):
Sitting at number twelve in the Eastern Conference right now,
a team that was actually picked to go to the
Western Eastern Conference finals last year came up a little short,
but had a lot of promise going into this season,
which is stirking where Egors just stirkin getting a deal
and then as the net there sixteen and seventeen, a
minus six gold differential three and.

Speaker 1 (16:04):
Seven in the last ten.

Speaker 4 (16:05):
After we started the year nine and two, started nine
and two, and since then we are seven and fifteen.
Wake the hell up, Blue Shirts, what's going on. We're
supposed to be way better than this. We don't have
a bunch of injuries to blame this on. We're not
playing good hockey. We're not getting the pucks off the
board and getting the puckets to the zone, checking off

(16:27):
the backboard, and not winning on power play like we
did last year.

Speaker 1 (16:30):
Some smelling salt, a whole case offer from Amazon.

Speaker 4 (16:33):
Here you go, everybody, take five of the ease, and
let's wake up man and get back to the hockey
that we're supposed to be playing this year.

Speaker 1 (16:39):
And let's go hoist Lord Stanley.

Speaker 3 (16:42):
And that that was hockey talk with VJ Pucks.

Speaker 1 (16:46):
First ever hockey set like that. VJ Pucks, Yeah, VJ
puy J Yeah.

Speaker 4 (16:52):
The big Vanilla and the big Vanilla netminder. Ha, You're
just we're just branding stuff, baby Vanilla.

Speaker 1 (17:00):
Pi.

Speaker 4 (17:01):
Okay, keep him coming, hey really quick. You know I'm
the nickname guy.

Speaker 1 (17:07):
Ian Ian has more gifts to give out. He's a
Jets fan.

Speaker 3 (17:10):
He already basically just he just wants a whole new franchise.
But what other gift you got this holiday season for
your for any NFL team.

Speaker 5 (17:19):
Yeah, not not for the Jets. This one's for the
Patriots because you guys mentioned giving Drake Mayo wide receiver one.
He also needs a franchise left tackle. It's been a terrible,
terrible offensive line there in New England. So I'm gonna
give him Kelvin Banks junior from Texas.

Speaker 6 (17:31):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (17:31):
This is this is the way of the NFL. I'll
say this is that it is a little crazy how
little talent Bill Belichick left in that organization. Like it's
just yeah, I remember many years not many years ago,
but you figure out the exact date. I was on
air with Arnie Spanier in my Saturday shift the night
that the Patriots lost to the Titans in the divisional round.

(17:55):
That that's Saturday, and it ended up being Brady's last game.
And I remember sitting there with Arnie, Oh, Brady's cooked,
he's done. And then he goes to Tampa and you're like, oh,
he just had literally no help.

Speaker 1 (18:06):
No help. That was last few years.

Speaker 3 (18:08):
And by the way, this is not a conversation that
we can do in the next two minutes. That's also
why I have a lot of doubts about Bill Belichick
in the college game.

Speaker 1 (18:14):
I love this whole well, he was a GM for
It's like, yeah, and I heard that. I heard that
I call strange in the first round. Yeah, it gets
you exactly. But no, no, I'm not gonna ran on it.

Speaker 4 (18:24):
But I listened to you and your Saturday co host
talk that. Man, I one disagree. I think Belichick is
gonna do very well. Really, yes, yes, I think he's
going to do very well in Chapel Hill.

Speaker 1 (18:37):
Absolutely. Absolutely.

Speaker 4 (18:39):
The money's there, man, Well, college football is about the money.
The money's there. He can get what he needs.

Speaker 1 (18:44):
I'll tell you what.

Speaker 3 (18:46):
We're gonna come back when we do another former Super
Bowl winning head coach he wants back in. We'll discuss him,
and we gotta do some Christmas stuff. But out of
this sports talk.

Speaker 4 (18:56):
Yeah, man, my movies and music, Yeah, we'll we'll we'll
talk about it.

Speaker 3 (18:59):
Gives good gifts, best gifts, best movies, best this You
guys are the best audience.

Speaker 1 (19:05):
This is Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (19:20):
Welcome back, everybody. This is the Covino and Rich Show.
Coveno and Rich are out error towards VJ. Husky er
in you want to get into the show, tweeted us.
Aaron Underscore torres at Big Vanilla Funny. You know what,
I'll tell you what VJ we could do. We could
do a Pete Carroll segment. He wants to come back.
Adam Schefter tweeted it, but you just told me that

(19:42):
you have some awful Christmas experiences. So everybody wants to
be all jolly and I don't want to be negative.
But because we were talking about before and this is
another one, we can bring in the guys and Manzi
as well, if anybody has any stories to share.

Speaker 1 (19:58):
But you, you.

Speaker 3 (19:59):
Had slayed in worst Christmas gifts as a topic. I
don't know that I've ever got a terrible Christmas gift. Now,
I got a really bad Birthday gift one time, so
maybe I'll share. But you you want to share a
bad Christmas gift slash experience?

Speaker 1 (20:13):
Yeah, I do, because this is here's the thing.

Speaker 4 (20:15):
Man, when somebody gives you a good gift, you tell
him and it's you know you mean it. When somebody
gives you a bad gift, you should be able to
tell him this is a bad get. That's not fair
for me to lie to you. Don't want me to
lie to you. And sometimes experiences don't match up. It's
not a gift, it's experienced. Christmas eighty nine, and this
comes to anybody in here a middle child. I'm a
middle child, Okay, So for all my life I've been

(20:36):
like this. You're holding off the olders, you're holding off
the youngest. But Christmas eighty nine, my mom sends us
the Gaffney, South Carolina with my dad, my brother Terrence,
and I to go to my grandmother RP. She passed
away this year. Miss your Grandma Roberts. See you when
I get up.

Speaker 1 (20:51):
There, go down to our house.

Speaker 6 (20:52):
Right.

Speaker 4 (20:53):
And my dad was always like really enamored with my
little brothers.

Speaker 1 (20:57):
Not to say it, loves his son VJ. Lee love VJ.

Speaker 4 (21:00):
Vernon too, But my brother was the baby. I remember
getting a basketball, a sweatsuit and like a Swatch. You
guys remember Swatch watches? Are you guys old enough to
remember Swatch?

Speaker 6 (21:11):
All right?

Speaker 4 (21:12):
I know the young bucker, I know Ian probably has
never heard of Swatch.

Speaker 3 (21:15):
So that's all I got. I sat on a chair and.

Speaker 4 (21:18):
I watched my younger brother open up every damn Ninja
Turtle action figure in every vehicle that was available, plus clothes,
plus sneakers.

Speaker 1 (21:29):
Dude.

Speaker 4 (21:29):
I was almost in tears. This is a true story now.
It was almost in tears. And I can remember my brother.
The more gifts he got, he kept saying, oh, look look, look, Vernon,
I got Michaelangelo. Look I got Donna Tello. Look I
got Yrsakia Jumbo. He was the rabbit who gets the rabbit.
No one gets the rabbit.

Speaker 7 (21:49):
Brother.

Speaker 4 (21:50):
Yeah, yeah. My brother called me my brother. My family
calls me Vernon, and I can remember sitting there being
like in tears, like I want to go home.

Speaker 1 (22:00):
This is not fair.

Speaker 4 (22:02):
A basketball, a swatchwatch, and a sweatsuit and I'm sitting
here watching my baby brother. Dude, it was like thirty
gifts and I'm sitting there with like these few gifts.
It was one of the words Christmas experience. I remember
calling my mom and crying on the phone. Oh come,
She's like, no, it's not about that, it's about being
around your family, blah blah. But bro, I'm sorry, man,

(22:23):
that's a pops. We talked about this. I ain't mad
at you, man, but I get it. He's the baby.

Speaker 1 (22:28):
But bro, you could have hooked me up with a
little more than that.

Speaker 7 (22:31):
Man.

Speaker 3 (22:31):
So Christmas eighty nine, I'm sorry, dog, y'all we always
go down?

Speaker 1 (22:34):
Is that Christmas?

Speaker 4 (22:35):
I cross sitting on that chair in my craft Mouth
living room watching Terrence open all those Ninja total action figures,
the good ones too, not the cheek on was like
the real ones.

Speaker 3 (22:43):
I think I've told this story. This wasn't a Christmas gift.
I think I've actually told this on air, probably in
a very similar segment my eighteenth birthday. Okay, so eighteenth
big one.

Speaker 1 (22:52):
Yeah, my man.

Speaker 3 (22:53):
Yeah, couldn't listen in the army if I want you,
I'm a man. Goodbye cigarettes, buy cigarettes and gambling some place.

Speaker 1 (23:01):
My sister bought me a build a bear? What and that?
So here's the thing. So there's two things. One in
hurt in her defense.

Speaker 3 (23:12):
It was like like the first like a couple of
years of what build a bear was, and so like
I didn't even know.

Speaker 1 (23:19):
I was like, what is this teddy bear? Like why
did you get me? It's She's like, no, it's freaking
because you have this and it has that and it
wears that. I'm like, it's still a freaking teddy bear.

Speaker 3 (23:30):
And I, like you said, I don't feel like I
should feel bad for acknowledging that it was a weird
gift to give somebody that's eighteen. I wasn't seven, I
was eighteen. But I remember sharing this story, and I
forget if I was working with Dan Byer whoever. He's like, Wow,
you're just a terrible brother, and I don't I don't know.

Speaker 1 (23:45):
If it was Dan.

Speaker 3 (23:46):
I don't want to put it Dan on the spot here,
but somebody was just like, wow, you're just a mean person.
And listen, by the way, big picture, we're all blessed,
we have great families, we're getting gifts. But and so
I'm not sitting there saying like, you know, I have
the worst world life in the world.

Speaker 1 (24:00):
But I was, like, I open it. I was like
a teddy bear, a teddy bear, a teddy bear.

Speaker 5 (24:06):
Lady. The fact about your sister too means that you
can actually be honest and be like what the hell, Like,
what is this?

Speaker 1 (24:11):
Yes, you don't know.

Speaker 5 (24:14):
If it's someone you don't know, you can't really be like,
why did you give me a teddy Bear?

Speaker 1 (24:17):
But it's your sister.

Speaker 3 (24:18):
Exactly, exactly exactly, So I just I it always sticks
with me. And if it tell us what the Bility
bear looked like, because I got to know now, No,
it was like a sports themed building bar, but it
just to me, it just looks like a teddy bear
with a hat on. I'm like, oh, cool, he's in
a jersey. Yeah, he's got a baseball hat in the glove.
That's that's you know, that's that's okay.

Speaker 4 (24:37):
See that's what I mean right, Like that's and everyone
listened to trusts me. Everyone receives a gift, you just
go WTF, like exactly everybody does. Don't act like you
all get perfect gifts, bro, you don't please. There's a
few more I can name that over time, you just
look and go. You didn't put any thought in this,
did you? You just remembered it was my birthday like
an hour ago. Just say that or they you the.

Speaker 3 (25:00):
Gift that they wanted for themselves, you know what I mean.
Like I hate to put people on the spot, but
that's a very common wife thing. It's like, oh, I
think that you need to have like a.

Speaker 1 (25:10):
New pair of shoes. So I got you these shoes.

Speaker 3 (25:12):
That I don't even think that you'll like, but I
like them for you, so I'm gonna get them.

Speaker 4 (25:16):
So yeah, bro, I can't stand I like them for you. Yeah.
Have you ever seen me wear galoshes? Have you ever
seen me wear pro cads?

Speaker 6 (25:24):
Then?

Speaker 4 (25:24):
Why the hell is there sae thirteen of them in
my hand right now? You've never seen me wear these?
Why did you think I would like these?

Speaker 3 (25:31):
I will say really quick and we'll get to the
other guys in mansie in a minute. But that is
the worst part of being an adult as opposed to
a kid. Like today, you were showing me all the
things that you got your kids, and I got them this,
and I got them that. When you get to be
an adult, people just get you things that you wouldn't
get for your self. Yeah, And it's like, no, but
I if I wanted that, I literally get it. By
the way, Lamar Jackson has just running a touchdown. Josh,

(25:54):
He's beaston twenty four to two extra point pending. Baltimore
is leading the Houston Hexans. Oh yeah, that's the worst
part of being adult. You just like, if I wanted
the apron that said the kiss the cook. Guess what, guys,
Amazon A bit I would have been.

Speaker 4 (26:08):
Oh no, I was waiting for my birthday for someone
to get me apron that says kiss the cook with
a matching damn hat I was. That's what I wanted
on my birthday.

Speaker 1 (26:17):
Thank you, prefet you got anything? This is good best.

Speaker 2 (26:23):
I don't think I have anything here. This is usually
spiritual holiday for me.

Speaker 1 (26:27):
Okay, so yeah, you got anything. I can't think of
gifts much.

Speaker 5 (26:30):
I mean, I generally have some level of appreciation for
we almost Yeah, don't do that.

Speaker 1 (26:39):
You're in this now.

Speaker 5 (26:40):
I mean more of the worst gifts I've received. I
mean I feel bad even saying it, as you guys
have said, you feel bad saying it. But it's like
one time I got, you know, from from my sister
as well. Ironically, Aaron was she All she got me
was like a bracelet, like a like a wristband, like
a rubber, one of those cheap rubber. It was just
a vineyard violace. Yeah, but even more in her defense

(27:00):
than for your sister. She she was like a freshman
in high school, so it's not like she makes money
to like get by me all this stuff. But it
really was like, Okay, she like you know, opened her
drawer and was like this guy, that's what I say.

Speaker 1 (27:12):
My dad gave her money to get you a gift
at the ball because.

Speaker 4 (27:16):
She kept most of it had money anyway, and our
mom will go, Okay, this is for your brother and
this is for grandma.

Speaker 1 (27:21):
You guys go find them a gift.

Speaker 3 (27:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (27:23):
I didn't have a job in the eighth grade either,
But I didn't give someone a bracelet that comes with
the pair of nikes that rubber day.

Speaker 1 (27:30):
Oh man, that's bad that I'm.

Speaker 5 (27:32):
Give what's worse if she gotten me nothing or the
or like like comically you know, it's a comically nothing.

Speaker 1 (27:39):
Yeah, yeah, give me a hug and a kids to
say marry Christmas. That's school. I got other stuff comment.

Speaker 3 (27:43):
Especially if she's eleven years old. For I don't force it.
Don't force it, Mazi really quick. Do you have any
bad gifts because you're gonna do the whole Oh my god,
I'm just so grateful.

Speaker 8 (27:52):
No, I know it's my mic up that we got. Yeah, sorry,
I can't hear it.

Speaker 1 (27:56):
I'm sorry. It's probably because I was blasted.

Speaker 3 (28:00):
Yeah, we'll talk about.

Speaker 8 (28:01):
Beyance in a second.

Speaker 1 (28:02):
I'm with VJ.

Speaker 8 (28:03):
I think most gifts are actually mid like to be honest,
we'll talk, yeah, I and it's not it's like your
I buy.

Speaker 1 (28:11):
What I want for a reason.

Speaker 8 (28:12):
I have a specific taste, and every now and then
my friends give me something, I'm.

Speaker 1 (28:15):
Like, wow, this is right on the money. Most of
the times it's like oh cool, thank you.

Speaker 8 (28:19):
Like sure, yesterday, for example, I my two my two besties,
we do our little Christmas Eve celebration and we both
like we all died laughing three because I picked out
one of the gifts and I swear to god you VJ.
My boyfriend Sean could wear this, like you've seen how big.
When I lifted this up, I was like, this is for.

Speaker 1 (28:38):
Me, and we just died laugh Feen she just she
was it was a Disney villain.

Speaker 8 (28:45):
Sure, she knows I like villains, and it's like, yes,
I I like villains.

Speaker 1 (28:49):
Wear this to sleep.

Speaker 8 (28:51):
Maybe I might, I might die in it's swimming because literally,
I was just like, this is for me, and we
just died laughing, like we had a good moment.

Speaker 1 (28:58):
But I agree like most they're fine, But it's like
hardly ever is, she remembered. She when was you got?
What was the gift exchange last night?

Speaker 8 (29:05):
Solly, she's not listening, but we had a great laugh
for you remember on Monday afternoon?

Speaker 1 (29:09):
Yeah, oh my god, I got to get Oh my god. Okay,
and you know what, here's the thing.

Speaker 8 (29:14):
She might have bought that like a week ago, but
the fact that she saw she's like, yeah.

Speaker 1 (29:17):
Yeah right, let's give this to her. Yeah.

Speaker 8 (29:22):
He gave me an extra thank you.

Speaker 1 (29:24):
Yeah okay.

Speaker 4 (29:25):
But the point you're making is like, I don't really
get what you like. You know what I wanted for
Christmas this year?

Speaker 6 (29:30):
All right?

Speaker 1 (29:30):
You know what? Forget you sad?

Speaker 4 (29:31):
You know what I wanted a golden Victor watch, asked
me if.

Speaker 1 (29:33):
I got it? Did you get it? No? No, friend
got it for me? Right, no friend? I want to
pay Kobeches thirteen knows.

Speaker 8 (29:42):
For years I told my friends, put your money together
and get me a pair of grinches and they've never
done it.

Speaker 1 (29:47):
But did they get you a kiss? The cook apron?
That's the real.

Speaker 4 (29:50):
Listen, man, That thing is. That thing is in a
closet somewhere. I literally just looked at the girl was like,
because you like to cook and you like the kids. Yeah,
and you just thought that that was going to mend
each other together.

Speaker 1 (30:02):
Awesome.

Speaker 3 (30:02):
He thought that that I was waiting a full year
since last year, for this year, for this, for this,
for this gift.

Speaker 6 (30:07):
Now.

Speaker 4 (30:08):
I've gotten some dope gifts too, of course, like honestly,
the one I'm wearing.

Speaker 1 (30:12):
This was a gift today.

Speaker 4 (30:14):
This is Woodson, my pit bull, well and I share
this put Woodson died in my hands.

Speaker 1 (30:21):
These are too sweet? See that? Who get got you that?

Speaker 3 (30:23):
If you don't picture my kid's mother, that is a
very thought. Yeah, this is probably when I opened this
this morning, and you know that could have been a
gift that was twenty bucks, fifty bucks, whatever it was.
And that's exactly it. This is a gift and it's
what you said earlier. It's the thought. Yes, whoever got
that for you, they put a lot of thought into that.

Speaker 4 (30:43):
I literally held it up and I looked on the sleeve.
Once I saw that, I was like, because I missed him.
That was my guy man, And like I said, he
he passed in my hands. Very traumatic, but anyway, good stuff.
But this is so there's dope gifts. I once got
a college football almanac that was like the best it's
Steve Hartman, right.

Speaker 1 (31:00):
That yeah, no, no, no, no, that's what he does time.
He's literally putting college football. Best gift ever to.

Speaker 4 (31:05):
Alf Talking Doll and g I Joe Conquest X thirty.
It was the jet that had the backwards wings on it.
I specifically asked Santa for that and got at the
year my alf talking dog. My mom still teases me
how I used to have it at the dinner and
breakfast table would be. I used to love ALF. I've
seen every I've seen all five seasons I loved ALF.

Speaker 3 (31:22):
I've told I've told this story on time on air
many times. I think Matzi were in for one of them.
But best gift I ever got. I was probably ten
or eleven years old. My generation. Everyone's favorite athlete was
King Griffy Junior, of course, and I got the cut,
like the literal, like the like the the stitch, everything
like stitch Griffy twenty four. So I've told this story,

(31:43):
but I vividly remember War to School, the first day
of school, Rave reviews whatever, second day, I wear whatever,
Third day, go back to Griffin, fourth day, go back
to Griffyth. Fifth day, go back to Griffy. Bye about
midwek of the second week. My mom was like, you
can only wear that once a week because I can't
wash it every day and you can't be the smelly

(32:03):
kid at school.

Speaker 1 (32:04):
Yeah, but I freaking love that jersey so much.

Speaker 3 (32:09):
I think it was the teal. I think it was
like the alternate teal. Oh, it was so good.

Speaker 1 (32:14):
Yeah it was. It was right in that run when
they were right in the middle of everyth Let me
see if I can find it real quick.

Speaker 4 (32:19):
Griffy to me, I always say, best five tool player
I ever saw my own eyes, And I mean that's
still to this day, even with show Hey, even with
Mike Trout, best five tool player that I've ever seen
with my own eyes.

Speaker 1 (32:30):
Ken Griffy Jr.

Speaker 4 (32:32):
Number one draft pick didn't take long to get to
the Mason Majors, un Unanimous if I'm not mistaking Unanimous,
Hall of Fame, and Ductee.

Speaker 3 (32:39):
It was the dark blue. Yeah, this one doesn't have
the stitchy on the back, but it was this one.

Speaker 1 (32:44):
So yeah.

Speaker 3 (32:45):
So I think that's a good way to end because
we can laugh about the worst gifts, but we're also
grateful to.

Speaker 1 (32:50):
Everyone who has given us amazing gifts as well or
just any gifts.

Speaker 4 (32:53):
I'm grateful, but I'm allowed to talk about Christmas eighty nine.

Speaker 1 (32:57):
I worked this out in therapy.

Speaker 4 (32:59):
My therapist talk the finkel Bomb told me I'm allowed
to talk about this, all right, Well, take no feelings
out of it.

Speaker 3 (33:04):
I'll tell you what. We'll save doctor Finkelbaum for the
final segment. We gotta get it to the news desk. Manzi,
let us know what's going on in the world of sports, guys.

Speaker 8 (33:12):
It is all Ravens against the Texans. I double checked
because I was like, I don't think the Texans have
crossed midfield once.

Speaker 3 (33:19):
They did it.

Speaker 1 (33:20):
Once, Yeah, and that was when they got stuffed on
the goal. Yeah.

Speaker 8 (33:25):
CJ. Stroud through an interception.

Speaker 1 (33:27):
Recently, Ravens get the ball.

Speaker 8 (33:29):
Lamar Jackson scrambles, extending plays doing this.

Speaker 2 (33:32):
Take the hand up to Henry, comes to the right side,
cross the forty He's gone twenty.

Speaker 3 (33:37):
Ten bomb touchdown, Lamar Jackson, forty eight yard run.

Speaker 2 (33:44):
And if Beiance didn't wow you, Lamar Jackson.

Speaker 8 (33:48):
Let me tell you those Texans fans at least had
Beyonce at least because excuse oh, of course, but you're
not rooting for Lamar If you're a Texans fan watching it,
you're in shipping it. But you could be rooting for
you know what I mean, It's a little bit different.
You could be rooted for somebody like being.

Speaker 4 (34:04):
I can tell you this, and you're not gonna lives.
God saw you jamming over there. But this is just
my Beyonce Tay for the last ten years, all her
performances looking sound the same. I don't understand why you
guys get hyped for her over and over again. It
all looks it sounds the same to me. Now dis
on me, Monci, No, you're just.

Speaker 1 (34:18):
A party pooper.

Speaker 8 (34:18):
Twenty four to two is the score Ravens against the Texans.
Early in the third quarter, the Chiefs secured the number
one seat in the AFC after beating the Steelers twenty
nine to ten.

Speaker 1 (34:27):
In the NBA, the Celtics were down. Not anymore.

Speaker 8 (34:29):
They're beating the seventy six ers now eighty seventy six.
Late in the third quarter, Spurs lost at Madison Square
guarding too the Knicks one seventeen one fourteen, and the
Timberwolves took down the Maps one of five to ninety nine.

Speaker 3 (34:40):

Speaker 3 (35:45):
I know it's coming out Torres's favorite Christmas song blasted
for all of America Chris Purfetts.

Speaker 1 (35:55):
All she wants for Christmas is you? Christmas song? Ever?
What is rotten? She wants for Christmas? You? She doesn't
even want no get she just all she wants for
Christmas is no. I don't believe it. I don't buy it.

Speaker 4 (36:08):
She wants me, and she wants a seven carrot ring,
and she wants a Bugatti, and she wants a Lamborghini
Private and.

Speaker 1 (36:15):
Shit whatever know make her wish come true for each other?
Oh God, I finished it off man hit that note.

Speaker 3 (36:20):
All O well for Christmass you, By the way, all
the Ravens woke all the I think about it. All
the Ravens want for Christmas is the end Zone thirty
one to two over the Houston Texans. By the way,
I want to get back to Christmas movies and music
very quickly. But we talked about this earlier. Casey clinches
the number one seed. If seeds hold, they will be

(36:40):
playing the Houston Texans in their first playoff game. Uh,
that could be a bloodbath. And basically it's gonna come
down either Baltimore or Buffalo to keep Casey out of
the super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (36:51):
But with that said, v uh, you can go movies music.

Speaker 3 (36:54):
But we got about nine minutes before we toss it
over to Rob Parker and and he from salam So
what what gets you juice this time of year?

Speaker 1 (37:02):
It's my Christmas movies? Man?

Speaker 4 (37:04):
Yes, And I've actually moved some movies out because I'm thinking,
as time goes on, we can't just keep saying the
same thing because it is what we've been saying.

Speaker 1 (37:10):
So get the breaking news. When, when?

Speaker 5 (37:14):
When?

Speaker 6 (37:14):
When?

Speaker 4 (37:14):
Whatever you got going? Man, I don't care, play me
something on this right here. I've officially now removed Home.

Speaker 1 (37:20):
Alone one, WHOA and Home.

Speaker 4 (37:22):
Alone two now my top five Christmas movies of all time.

Speaker 1 (37:27):
Now I've remembered it.

Speaker 4 (37:28):
Because we can't just keep saying it just because we're
just so there we go there?

Speaker 1 (37:32):
When when?

Speaker 5 (37:33):
When? When?

Speaker 4 (37:34):
So, just because it's been the popular thing to say,
I find myself watching both those now and it's just like, Okay,
I've laughed enough. You know what's coming, even though we
know what's coming in all of these, but these new
top five.

Speaker 3 (37:45):
And I ask you a question, really, before you get
to your new tough five, do you feel like you're
only moving them out because you've seen them so many times.
Let me explain, because last night we were at my
wife's aunt's house. We had a great time, and Home
Alone was playing at eight o'clock on TV, and we
put it on, and there was an audible difference between
the people who, like myself, watch it two or three

(38:07):
times every year during the holidays versus the people that
hadn't seen it in like ten or twenty years. And
like my wife's aunt clearly had not seen the movie
in forever, and she was laughing at everything, and I
was still laughing. It's just but I I know the
paint cans are coming. Yeah, I know he's gonna step
on the ornament. So do you think and you could
get to your list because we only got.

Speaker 1 (38:27):
Two minutes uffo, I'll go. But do you think it's.

Speaker 3 (38:30):
But do you think it's just because you've seen it
so much that it's like it's like Lamar Jackson is
there fatigue? Is their voter fatigue like the MVP in
Vj's list.

Speaker 4 (38:38):
It's also it's that, but it's also a little bit.
I'm almost fifty, so just the same thing just doesn't
get me. But this new top five Ian peep this man.
This is great, Okay, number five for Christmases with Reese
Witherspoon and Vince von Dude.

Speaker 1 (38:52):
It's super under it's funny, it's up to date.

Speaker 4 (38:55):
It's now we're all adults in here now, so now
this is adult.

Speaker 1 (38:59):
Ain't nothing there about the other.

Speaker 4 (39:00):
Than when the kid takes the pregnancy test for reaches wispoo,
it goes to the jump jump Thats the only thing
about The kids.

Speaker 3 (39:05):
Are so very relatable really quick. It's like super relatable. Oh,
you don't want to spend time with my family. I
don't want to spend time with your family. Let's just
go away.

Speaker 4 (39:11):
And both our parents are divorced, so now we gotta
go to your dad's, your mom's, my dad's, my mom's.

Speaker 1 (39:15):
Four Christmas is good.

Speaker 4 (39:16):
Number four, bast Santa, guys, come on, Billy Bob Thorton,
Rip Bernie Mack.

Speaker 1 (39:21):
This movie is hilarious.

Speaker 4 (39:23):
It's Billy Bob Thornton's best role in my opinion, just
how rude and crude and funny hilarious. This movie is
number three Friday after Next. If you can't get with money,
Mike and you can't get with a hood, Santa Claus
in this movie. You Get Pinky, You Get Money, Mike.
This introduces Kat Williams to the world. This is classic
