We did, by the way, we did the Christmas gifts
for your favorite NFL team. We got a few tweets
on that, so maybe we'll revisit that at the top

(01:32):
of the next hour.

Speaker 5 (01:34):
Well that said, though, v Yes double duty man back
to back, back to back four hours of Torres and
VJ Husky here.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
But let's start with what is obviously the big story
of the day. Two NFL games here on a Christmas Wednesday,
the Kansas City Chiefs in Game one took care of
the Pittsburgh Steelers' final score in that game. It was
a lot to a little twenty nine to ten is
the final. Russell Wilson did have a touchdown run, but

(02:02):
also through an interception in the red zone. That touchdown
run was the only time the Pittsburgh Steelers crossed the
goal line with the victory, Kansas City clinches the number
one seed in the AFC. Obviously, that means they will
have not only home field advantage but also that first
round by they need it. They have played a three
games in eleven days, but the Kansas City Chiefs vj Husky.

Speaker 3 (02:25):
Will be the number one seed in the AFC this seay.
And you know what you gotta do.

Speaker 5 (02:30):
You gotta go through Arrowhead And I listen, I got
one team in an AFC that's got a shot.

Speaker 3 (02:35):
That's it.

Speaker 5 (02:36):
I might you might as well go ahead and pencil
and glad excuse me, you can, sharpie. You could permanent
marker the Chiefs definitely in the ANFC Championship game because
no one's gonna come in there and beat them in
a divisional round coming off of restling during the Wildcar
weekend that they're not quotes you have to participate in
and then you almost could scribble them in the Super

(02:56):
Bowl Kansas City at home.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
Who's been able to do it one time? Joe Burrow.
You know who won't be in the playoffs to do
it this year, Joe Burrow.

Speaker 5 (03:06):
So good luck to everybody else, including Josh Allen MVP
sympathetic guy.

Speaker 6 (03:11):
This year. Fine.

Speaker 5 (03:12):
Even my man Ol Jackson was just telling Aaron during
the break, that's my guy. It's one of my favorite players,
might be my favorite NFL player, but I love it.
But in the cold Arrowhead, all the freaky things that happened,
whether it's a push out of bounds or whether it's
a tug of a jersey, just things just seem to
go right for them there. You know, whether it's to
tackle lining up in the backfield for ninety five percent

(03:34):
of the snaps, I don't know, but you gotta go
there and you gotta deal with it. Man, and I
just today you can see the relief on it. It
didn't they look happy talking to whoever. I'm sorry, this
outline reporter was doing the game, but you know they
had this look like a like, okay, we know over
the next month we're home, yep.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
Wearing Arrowhead.

Speaker 5 (03:57):
You gotta come deal with our loud fan, our cold weather,
our crappy field, our crafty quarterback, our legendary coach. You
can get some good barbecue, why you hear, But that's
the only thing good get when you get here, because
when you come through here, you get your ass handed
to you.

Speaker 3 (04:12):
And I think that's gonna happen to most teams.

Speaker 5 (04:13):
I might give the Ravens a shot, man, but to
me sitting here today Christmas Day, man, you could pin
the Chiefs and AFC Championship game.

Speaker 3 (04:20):
You can damn it put him in the Super Bowl. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
Well, I mean keep in mind the way the Seeds
would hold. If the Seeds hold, they would be playing
Houston in Arrowhead, who they just beat last Saturday. Houston,
of course banged up all sorts of injuries. We know
about the Tank Dell injury that happened last week, so
it's hard to see.

Speaker 3 (04:36):
Yeah. No, I think it was funny.

Speaker 1 (04:37):
They were showing some postgame locker room stuff on you know,
you can find it on social media, and I think
exactly what you said is it's relief, but not in
like the traditional sense that you would think like there
was never a doubt. They've been there, they've done it,
they've won ever, they've whatever. But I think it was
they saw and Patrick Mahomes talked about it the whole team.
Did they saw this stretch on the schedule. When the

(04:58):
schedule came out, It's like, oh, we got to play
on a on a Sunday and then a Saturday and
then we play on a Wednesday. And it's like and
these are the crucial games that are gonna determine exactly
what you just said.

Speaker 3 (05:09):
Black Friday two weeks prior before to Stretch Friday.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
Yeah, like you're a football coach, you know, Like, Bro,
that routine is so and it's not just a one
Thursday game.

Speaker 3 (05:18):
It's not just a Monday night game here or there.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
It's three games at eleven it's playing on Black Friday,
and then it's playing again three day, three games in
eleven days. I hate to keep harping on it, but
to go from a Sunday to a Saturday to a Wednesday,
and so you could just see in that locker room
just the relief from that team of like, like you said,
it's not only just that we get to host everything
and say, hey, we can rest guys next week. Patrick

(05:43):
Maholmes doesn't have to play on one ankle if he
doesn't want to. They're hosting the Bronx, or they're they're
traveling to Denver.

Speaker 3 (05:50):
What would you do?

Speaker 5 (05:51):
Just real fast, because it's at Denver, they're still fighting.
It's a good defense, are you telling Pat?

Speaker 3 (05:58):
Listen?

Speaker 7 (05:58):
Man?

Speaker 5 (05:58):
I know you want to play your and but I
would it's out of your hands.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
You know what I would do sitting you this week?
I would do the old Popovich like people forget like.
So this is one of my big NBA things that
drives me crazy, the load management stuff.

Speaker 3 (06:11):
Right, load management, Oh my god.

Speaker 1 (06:13):
Well, the doctor say this, and the analysts analytics say
that load management started as Greg Popovich just telling his
veterans on the back end of a road trip, Hey,
just just go home, get your rest whatever. We'll see
your practice the day after exactly. And I don't want
to be hyperbolic because this isn't gonna happen. I'd say, Pat,
stay home, don't even get on the flight. Now, that's
not gonna happen. But I would tell him. I would

(06:33):
tell him, put up, yeah, grab a nice warm hoodie,
grab a nice warm sideline jacket. If you want to
come support your guys, that's fine, but don't even bring
your pets.

Speaker 3 (06:42):
You're not playing. So the equipment guys don't pack his
stuff exactly. Do you agree with that? Do you agree
with that?

Speaker 6 (06:47):
Man?

Speaker 1 (06:48):
Keep it my real quick out of me and cut
you off. But no, no, it's that week off. And
then they would get a bye, so you're talking about
three weeks that they wouldn't play where everybody else stays
in a ros.

Speaker 5 (06:56):
That's my issue though, is having him three weeks out.
That's the problem.

Speaker 3 (07:01):
I think. I think this week you play I do.

Speaker 5 (07:06):
I think because they're a pride that, hey, we want
to we want to sweep the division.

Speaker 3 (07:11):
We want to sweep the division.

Speaker 5 (07:12):
Like there's a pride of we want to sweep the
division again, like we want to let the AFC West know,
Like yeah, yeah, yeah, Jimmy Burgers, you got something going
out there in Inglewood. But two close games this year,
but what happened at the double Zeros. We have more
points and you want to send a message to Denver.
Plus I'll be honest with you, I need them to
beat Denver. So the Dolphins still got to shout out

(07:33):
and we played Cleveland, so I need him to beat Denver.

Speaker 3 (07:35):
But if i'm them, you play them.

Speaker 5 (07:37):
Andy Reid has historically played as guys when he's in Philly.
The Stars played in the preseason in Kansas City, the
Stars playing the preseason.

Speaker 3 (07:45):
I'm all for that.

Speaker 5 (07:46):
And football is not a game you could just roll
out of bed man and grab your Cleeds, bag of
Doritos in the juice box and go play.

Speaker 3 (07:52):
It's football, is don't it? Don't rock like that?

Speaker 5 (07:55):
And once you stop playing like a guy that comes up,
I all right, takes him a few weeks kind of
get going. So three weeks is almost close to IRS four.
So I think I think you take them, think you
play them in Denver. It's still it's still a message
you want to send. There's still a professional a professionalism about,
and there's still a competitiveness about, like, hey, now we're
not just gonna get We're not just gonna give Denver

(08:16):
a division win over us. No, we're gonna go out
here and play hard. But I think after that, you
know you'll be good. But I think you still playing here.

Speaker 1 (08:24):
By the way, really quickly, you don't mean to change
the subject completely, But the Celtics Sixers game has just
tipped off, the third NBA game. Celtics with the green
unis and the guys are wearing red stockings, so uh,
you know, like the the red like leggings, so very
much in the Christmas spirit.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
Over there in Boston. I'm good on that. Why I'm good.

Speaker 5 (08:44):
God, there's such a screw good on that. First of all,
See this is something that the NBA does. Then when
they're trying to be cool and they're trying to be different,
why are we wearing dark unis at home? Like, why
it's never been that, it's the white jerseys, it's the
white unis at home.

Speaker 3 (09:01):
Why are we wearing dark unis at your own? The
dark unis are for the road, the red thing.

Speaker 5 (09:06):
It's like, I see, like, I think that's well, who
there's porks out there that's got one And I get
that kids, you know, guys want to wear one sleeve
on one leg or something like that.

Speaker 3 (09:14):
I get the I'm not with it, man, I'm cool
on it.

Speaker 5 (09:17):
I get it's the Christmas colors, but they don't have
none of the red on the court other than was
that Emirates is now you pronounced that Emirates the sponsor
that you have down there.

Speaker 3 (09:25):
If anything, if they kind.

Speaker 5 (09:26):
Of would have decorated the court with a bowl or something,
make it made that Christmasy, then I can get it.
But just everybody coming out with these red stocking kind
of socks on. Tatum's got like one on Porziggi's got
one on. I get it, But nah, I'm cool.

Speaker 1 (09:39):
By the way, Kris STAPs porzingis sit and I don't
mean to be sarcastic, but in the least surprising news ever,
looks like he is coming up lame with some sort
of twisted ankle or whatever.

Speaker 3 (09:48):
He's trying to walk it off. Hopefully he's fine.

Speaker 1 (09:50):
Celtics, by the way, three and a half games back
in the Eastern Conference, the Cleveland Cavaliers are just pacing
the entire entire league. Guy, I saw donovanch'll tweet out
yesterday Christmas coming soon or something like that, basically insinuating, hey,
give me another year. I'll make sure that we're playing
Christmas steak going for so.

Speaker 5 (10:07):
I feel you I'll get a chance to see them
up close in person. I'll be Monday, I will be
Lakers Caps fantast.

Speaker 3 (10:12):
I'll be there covering that game. So I definitely want
to see them up close and personal with the gaps.

Speaker 1 (10:16):
Let me ask you back to football, sure, Obviously the win,
Casey clinches the number one seed. Pittsburgh three straight losses
during this brutal stretch to kind of end the back
half of the year. By the way, it does not
get easier with their one final game. They of course,
are playing Cincinnati at home to close out the regular
season next week. Pittsburgh ten and six now half a

(10:38):
game back from Baltimore. Baltimore currently against the Houston Texans
up ten to nothing. Have we seen, let mean, we've
seen the best of Pittsburgh. R Like yes, yeah, okay.

Speaker 5 (10:51):
No no, no, no door closed, yeah yeah, door close.
So yeah, they get to it. They're not gonna win
a division. They'll have to go on the road and
they're not going to Buffalo and winning, and they're not going,
now wow, going to Houston and winning with all the
injuries and the stuff they got going on their CJ.
Stroud and I said this last year when people were
banging on Bryce Young, I'm like, Bryce Young has a
very very bad and horrific situation he's in. Stroud's situation

(11:15):
is much better for a rookie quarterback to be in.
But you're starting to kind of look and go, Okay,
I don't think he's topped out. But I didn't know
if Stroud was the number two pickers high as everybody
else loved them last year.

Speaker 3 (11:27):
That's not Ohio State thing. That's just me putting on
the tape. I called the kids.

Speaker 5 (11:30):
I called two of his high school games when he
was living out here in Rancho. When he's out here
in Rancho living in San Bernardino, Valley called two of
us high school games out there. So going into Houston,
maybe Pittsburgh's because defense travels, right, defensive running game travels,
so their defense is gonna show up. It's just can
they run the ball and not turn the ball over.
Remember they're about to score early in the game. Rush

(11:50):
doesn't look off the safety. He throws it right to him.
He throws it right in double coverage, and throws a
pick in the end zone. You would think they're getting
three out of that drive. Now scores twenty nine and
the ten don't make that much of a different in
the final score. But it doesn't make a difference at
that point of the game as far as momentum goes.
And then you're giving the ball back to them. It's different.
If you put points on the board, you have to
kick off and get back to them. But to give
the ball back to the opposing team in the end zone,

(12:13):
that's where you're backing yourself up. And now you're chasing
points and chasing possessions. An the NFL. So cool year,
they're gonna have to figure out what quarterback they can't
move forward him next year. I think this is a
one year thing even with Fills. Fields is a free agent,
if I'm not mistaken this last year deal, So Fields
is a free agent. So Pittsburgh was gonna be resetting
completely again from the quarterback position what they've been seemingly

(12:34):
doing for the last three to four years.

Speaker 3 (12:36):
But yeah, they're done really quick.

Speaker 1 (12:37):
With Casey getting that number one seed, we assume it'll
probably be either Baltimore or Buffalo going in the arrowhead
for the AFC Championship game. Yeah, who would you like
in that hype? Who would you like more to take
down Kansas City in that hypothetical match?

Speaker 3 (12:51):
More? Okay, be more.

Speaker 5 (12:53):
I need Lamar Jacks to do it. I need because
I've said this to you and I have said to everybody
else on Fox Sports Radio anytime people to hear me
talk about it. The Buffalo Bills windows closed to winning
a Super Bowl. Yes, still winning eleven or twelve games, Yes,
still win a playoff game. Yes, Josh Allen will score
forty points a couple of times a year. Yet they
will do all of that but I'm talking about holding
the Lombardi. That's different. Their window closed that last shot

(13:16):
they had. I go back to the divisional game, the
thirteen second game you blew and Josh Allen played tremendous
that day.

Speaker 3 (13:22):
That game got Gabe Davis paid four touchdown catches that day.

Speaker 5 (13:26):
Right, he wanted a free agent elect But when he
became a free agent, what Jacksonville give him?

Speaker 3 (13:29):
How much we heard from Roim Jacksonville this year?

Speaker 5 (13:31):
Right, Okay, one game got that man paid and he
ain't done nothing with that money since he's been down
in Jacksonville.

Speaker 3 (13:37):
But that was the year.

Speaker 5 (13:39):
That was the year, they think, because they would have
beat everybody else in the AFC and got into.

Speaker 3 (13:42):
A super Bowl.

Speaker 5 (13:43):
If you still just have to go through Pat Mahooney
in the postseason, Josh Is shown you he could beat
you in October. He could beat him in November, he
could beat him in September, he could beat him in December.
You know when he can't beat him, He can't beat
him in January. So I would much rather see a
rematch of last year because I don't know what the
play call it was for the Ravens. Last year an
AFC Championshi game, number one running team in the last

(14:05):
twenty four months at that point in the AFC Championship Game,
last twenty four months, last two years, and you wanted
to try to prove that you had a pocket.

Speaker 3 (14:12):
It almost was like it was almost like Ohio State
Michigan this year. Right like Ryan Day saw that tweet.
I saw that tweet that you put out.

Speaker 1 (14:19):
Yeah, you said, oh yeah, no, yeah, but I didn't
even equate it in my head until right now. But
that's now thinking about it, it's like it felt like
they were trying to like they were trying to prove no, no, no,
we could do this, just like you could do that,
rather than and it completely got away from who they
were and it was the same.

Speaker 3 (14:34):
I'm just using the Ohio State Michigan No, no, that
was tweet when you tweeted it, Yeah, because it was.

Speaker 5 (14:38):
It was perfect cause I dude, I'm sitting there thinking, God,
they keep throwing to the perimeter. We're gonna get killed,
killed because we don't have Will Johnson. We don't like
our secondary was in. But they wanted to prove we
can line up with you, and we can, dude, we
have two first round draft picks at the strength. Mason
Graham is going top six. I know that's that's the
guy you're running. That's the guy you do.

Speaker 3 (14:59):
You want to prove with the center that ain't making
it to the NFL.

Speaker 5 (15:01):
Okay, fine, go ahead, yeah, god running.

Speaker 2 (15:05):
I know.

Speaker 3 (15:05):
I'm with you. They want to prove lamarket No exactly.
Let Lamar be.

Speaker 5 (15:09):
It's the AMC Championship game, if any game, just go
to him and say, hey, man in the locker room,
you just smiping on to say, hey, get trust.

Speaker 3 (15:16):
You you'll get this today.

Speaker 1 (15:17):
I remember, I feel I believe I was filling in
for Mark Willard that day because I think Willard was
covered Willer guy. And I just remember because yeah, the
Niners were playing the late game, and I just remember
being on air and it was more of a last
year to me. It was more of a Todd Monken
than a Lamar Jackson thing, of course, and it was
just you know.

Speaker 3 (15:37):
You hope they've learned.

Speaker 1 (15:38):
I think Munkins said something about I can't even remember
he said something recently about the things that they learned
from that game, and.

Speaker 5 (15:45):
Aaron go ahead, no, yeah, I mean we'll see uch,
We'll get to that game I Aaron watch We'll get
to that game and Derrick henriill have thirteen damn carries.
Better not watch AFC Championship game in Arrowhead. You go
to Derek in the locker room and you look him
in the eye as man the man, and go, hey,
big dog, we ridey twenty five today. Can you give

(16:06):
me twenty five not twenty twenty five times? Sure, we're
turning and handing it to you and then Lamar ten
to fifteen. You can win. But if you go in there, oh,
we can throw the zaying, we can throw the bateman,
and we can throw to Andrew. Now mind you they
have Andrews for that game last year. He was already
with knee injuries, already out. But if you turned, you
handed that guy bro and Lamar does his thing RPO,

(16:27):
you can get you can you can get it. How
how much are you worried about the Chris Jones is?

Speaker 3 (16:32):
We haven't talked about that at all with today's precautionary
or could it beat something there? With this?

Speaker 1 (16:36):
Tell you what? Why don't we come back? We talk
about just that. This is the Coveno and Rich Show.
Covino and Rich are out eron Torres and j Husky
are filling in until seven pm Easter Time. Will come
back talk a little bit about the Chris Jones injury.
There are a couple college football topics I do want
to get to. Oh, we'll discuss all that next. This
is Covino Richard.

Speaker 6 (16:55):

We are broadcasting live for the tyreck dot Com studios
tyrack dot com. We'll help you get there an unmatched election,
fast free shipping, free road aser protection, and over ten
thousand recommended installers tirerack dot com the way tire buying
should be Again Covino and rich in for Dan Patrick tomorrow.
We are taking you till seven pm Eastern. The Odd

(17:43):
Couple obviously follows us. I should mention, by the way,
Merry Christmas to everybody listening. We appreciate you making us
a part of your day. Yeah, tweet us, let us
know where you're at. We have live.

Speaker 3 (17:56):
Sports up that you know what.

Speaker 1 (17:58):
The Celtics are trade by five sixty one fifty six
right before half against Philadelphia at home. This is the
third NBA game San Antonio and the New York Knicks
played earlier in the day forty two points eighteen rebounds
for victor Winbinyama. Also the Dallas Mavericks and Minnesota Timberwolves

(18:18):
played earlier in Dallas. Minnesota gets the win there. In football,
as Monzi just told you, Kansas City Chiefs twenty nine
to ten. They clinched the number one seed in the AFC.
If you missed us talk about it, you could download
the podcast after the show is over. And Baltimore now
up seventeen to two, still late in the first half
against the Houston Texas.

Speaker 3 (18:39):
All right, VJ.

Speaker 1 (18:40):
So it is Christmas Day and if you listen to us,
we have been on. We filled in for Doug Gottlieb
of the Doug Gottlieb Show earlier in the day at
about two hours ago, round four pm Eastern.

Speaker 3 (18:52):
What we did was we gave out some.

Speaker 1 (18:54):
Christmas gifts to some NFL teams so I gave the
gift of self awareness to Jerry Jones, hoping that he
will actually, uh, you know, be smart about how he
moves forward. In the off season with Mike McCarthy, Ian
planted some something negative about Woody Johnson, you know, hoping

(19:15):
to get him out as the New York Jets. Owner
Chris Purfett wished health and happiness upon his Detroit Lions,
who desperately need it. You talked a little bit about Dolphins,
Monzi talked about the Los Angeles Chargers. Chris, give us
a little music, and I want to do round two
of Christmas Gifts. And by the way, I will say
this too, if you want to call in share your

(19:37):
Christmas gift. Uh to the Covino and Rich Show one
eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox one eight seven
seven nine nine six six three six nine.

Speaker 3 (19:48):
So my first Christmas gift here an hour two. Okay.

Speaker 1 (19:53):
One of our callers mentioned this last episode, and so
I'm just gonna steal it. I would the Los Angeles
Raiders I give for them? Is that they I say,
Los Angeles, Las Vegas. I said, Los Angeles.

Speaker 3 (20:07):
I'm just talker gifts.

Speaker 1 (20:09):
Yeah, they need gifts. They need Sanders because here's the
thing about Shador. It's not only that he's clearly the
best quarterback in the draft. As you said earlier when
we were filling in for Doug Gottlieb, I don't believe
that Dion is following him to the NFL. But Chador
not only gives you the best quarterback in the draft,

(20:29):
he gives you immediate relevancy where people care like no
disrespecting tenant, but like bo Nix has been really good.
I don't know that people are tuning in just to
watch bo Nix. Good for him, Broncos are playing well.

Speaker 3 (20:43):
Whatever.

Speaker 1 (20:44):
Shador gives you credibility interest to your point, even if
Coach Prime isn't coaching that team, Coach Prime is kind
of in that orbit. Yeah, you don't think they're gonna
be asking Coach Prime questions about it every time he
does a media availability as the coach the Colorado Buffaloes.
So that is my wish for the Las Vegas Raiders,
toughest division in football right now, get your future quarterback.

(21:07):
That also makes you instantaneously one of the most interesting
teams in the league.

Speaker 5 (21:12):
If he leaves Colorado, that would be the only situation
I would want him to go to because I don't
trust the Raiders with his son, neither shall he. My
second gift in the second round, go of giving away presence,
goes to another team back east that I'm connected with,
got family members live in this city, and they have
a young quarterback there that I am just totally enamored with.

(21:33):
Covered in high school, called two of his state championship
games one one one he lost here in Solcal for
a modern day, and that is my guy, former Heisman
Trophy winner number one overall. Pick my man, b Why,
mister Bryce Young, I got a gift for you, my man.
I'm gonna give you the receiver from Arizona. Oh okay,
this is McMillan. This guy eighty four catches thirteen nineteen

(21:55):
eight touchdowns. I mean six, five, two twelve. I could
just stop talking right there. Eighteen yards of catch. You
need a bonafide guy. You need a bonafide wr one
that you could say, hey, go get one on third
and twelve, even with a safety playing over top of
shadow coverage and the Viper rover back shading over in

(22:15):
his area. Just put it up to this young buckaroo
and let this little young whipp a snap of go,
get you one. You need one of those, man, because
your best weapon is an over thirty receiver that's not
very fast and it's pretty still competitive decent, but he's
got two lower extremity injuries that cost them parts of seasons.
You need something young, fresh, shiny, something new to play with, man, and.

Speaker 3 (22:36):
Just toss that pigskin too.

Speaker 5 (22:38):
I would think a rookie year, he could probably have
about ninety catches, thirteen hundred yards, seven eight touchdowns.

Speaker 3 (22:43):
That should help out that offense.

Speaker 5 (22:44):
You just page your running back into but giving him
some bread so you know what you're doing there. They
know what they're setting up there for you. You got
blamed for everything last year. I used to sit and
fight with my co host, Martin bro you're bugging your
hay and you just want to go against VJ. I
get it because I said he was gonna beat them
wrong pig and he was and I said it was
going to be a beast, and he will be. But
you got to fix things there in Carolina. So my

(23:05):
gift second round goes to mister Brice Young. How did
chance to meet his mom and dad before?

Speaker 3 (23:09):
Too?

Speaker 5 (23:10):
Very lovely people comes from very good cloth, human beings.
I'm gifted you the receiver from Arizona, mister Mick Millan
as your Christmas gift this year.

Speaker 3 (23:20):
Enjoy. You guys are gonna win some games together. Four
very quick things. One his dad's a therapist, so my
wife's a therapist.

Speaker 1 (23:25):
So I've literally sent my wife quotes from his dad
when he does interviews because he speaks like a therapist
and it's like brilliant guy.

Speaker 3 (23:35):
So that's one. Two.

Speaker 1 (23:37):
I almost went with wide receiver one for Drake May.
So I'm glad that you hit on the okay. And
then three yes, it is one bad and I get
I forget what the third what the fourth point was,
But the third point was we were just talking about
coach Prime Shador. They just posted pictures from Sea World
in San Antonio on Twitter. Remember they are they are
playing in the Alamo Bowl this weekend. We talked about

(24:00):
at last hour Travis Hunter Shadoor Sanders as the maybe
number one and number two overall picks in the draft
will be playing in that bowl game.

Speaker 3 (24:08):
Chris Purfet, real fast before we go, because you just
threw something that was great.

Speaker 5 (24:11):
Please, Drake May needs a number one, Okay, I think
you and I talked about this last week. If you're
the number two pick, Schador goes one, you don't need
a quarterback. You're taking Travis and you need a receiver.
But Travis wants to play both ways. You feel you
feel out the dynamics. You can't pass on this kid.
But do you say, listen, we want you, but we

(24:32):
want you to play receiver. And if you're Travis, you go, no,
I'm playing both and don't draft me.

Speaker 3 (24:36):
That's that way. If the Patriots end up at number two,
they're not taking.

Speaker 5 (24:39):
A quarterback, of course, and if you're trade out, you're
giving up a chance of a generational type player.

Speaker 3 (24:45):
And a player too.

Speaker 1 (24:46):
By the way, we're just talking about relevancy with Shador Sanders,
some instantaneous relevance.

Speaker 3 (24:50):
I mean the Patriots.

Speaker 1 (24:51):
I know they're the Patriots, but there, yeah, they're they're
they're TV screen number three most Sundays, when you know,
especially in the early window, there's a bunch of games
going on on.

Speaker 3 (25:01):
So in defense to watch they play tough, They play tough,
they play tough.

Speaker 1 (25:05):
They need some talent. Yeah, Chris Purfett, By the way,
I should mention you real quick. One eight seven, seven
ninety nine on Fox one eight seven, seven, nine nine
six six three sixty nine. Feel free to call in.
Tell us what you want your favorite team to get
as a Christmas gift this year. Chris Purfett, you got
another one for us?

Speaker 3 (25:24):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (25:25):
So am I going back to the Lions or I'm
just kind of going wherever I'm I'm torn here between
two teams that could definitely use you know what, let's
do the Jaguars.

Speaker 3 (25:34):
Let's talk about the Jaguars.

Speaker 2 (25:35):
This has been this has been almost impossible for me
watching the Jaguars. This is a team that's had like
Trevor Lawrence, the first overall pick, who should be playing
a lot better than he has, but the injuries have
bugged them down. The pole over this entire franchise is
kind of bugged them down. Doug Peterson is still as

(25:56):
a coach for I don't know how much longer this
is going to be. You've got the the owner kind
of making overtures. I don't know what the path forward
did is for them. I think if I'm gonna give
them anything, it's it's a fresh start. It feels like
at some point you just need some talent a lot
of these positions.

Speaker 3 (26:15):
You fire Peterson. I don't like firing guys.

Speaker 2 (26:18):
I don't like firing guys, but I don't think he's
the right coach moving forward for them to start. So
maybe they just need to nail a good Maybe a
brand new coach, a new front office would do great.
Just a whole new organization for them.

Speaker 3 (26:31):
Just real fast. You fired, you fired. My whole thing
is that?

Speaker 1 (26:35):
And I think you've been on the Trevor Lawrence thing
earlier than most. It's like, at a certain point, it's
like he's the one commonality here. It's like Doug Peterson
won a super Bowl, you know, cause it folds. Yeah,
Because when when Urban got fired, it was oh, I mean,
well that's a clown show and Doug Peterson's gonna come
in and clean everything up. It's it's like no, no,
it was like, oh, look at what Trevor Lawrence had

(26:55):
to overcome. And it's like, well, now we're starting to
realize that some people got to overcome.

Speaker 3 (26:59):
Trevor Lawrence is there, yeah, and he's been banged up.

Speaker 5 (27:02):
And I always say it is people want to talk
about Oose, they want to talk about OOS's injuries. Just
make sure we talk about all these other high priced
quarterbacks that gets hurt too, that's been getting hurt too,
and Trevor's one of them.

Speaker 2 (27:13):
Well, that's the other one I was going to hand
out for the Cleveland Browns, another team that has had
so much promises out here a release from the that
was Deshaun Watson contract.

Speaker 3 (27:22):
Let me let me jump out on that really quick.

Speaker 1 (27:24):
No, no, no, it's just I mentioned in an hour two
I want to give credit where it's due. I did
just swipe this segment from Colin Cowherd and Jason mcintyron
on Tuesday, and that was one of the gifts that
Colin Cowherd gave out, was like an immunity pass or
something like that to get out of DeShawn Watson. I
worry the gift is almost too little, too late at
this point we're talking. I mean, I know Colin was
talking about trading Miles Garrett. I disagree with that. I

(27:46):
think you don't let go of a piece like Miles Garrett.
But the same time, it's starting to feel like by
the time you finally find a way out from beneath
this Deshaun Watson debacle, that age is going to be gone. Like,
this is an O line that's probably age out for
the This a defense in an NO line that's probably
aging out for the for the Browns. You've had other
injuries that hampered your offensive weapons, Like that's why it

(28:08):
feels like the door's already closing.

Speaker 3 (28:10):
Yeah, and that's why.

Speaker 5 (28:11):
And I was on that three weeks ago, like before
whatever the deadline was, I predicted that they would move
I was wrong, but they would move on Miles Garrett.
People called on after that, but I've been on that training. Yes,
you do give away a piece like him because you
let him go play somewhere where he can win. Bro,
He's not gonna win there, So I just you almost
do it as a favorite to him, Like why would

(28:31):
you do that? Why would you keep him there? Saying
with Mason Crosby, Because even if you get your door,
that's still two or three years away from it really
meaning something. I thought I called uh Lashawn Marshall Lattimore.
I hit on that he got traded to the skin
to not the skin. Excuse me, the commanders, everybody back
in the DNV.

Speaker 3 (28:47):
I mess up.

Speaker 5 (28:48):
I still called him the skins because I got all
these friends back in the d ANDV I still called
him this kid, but the commanders and I think it
would have been I think it would have been good
business by the front office to move on from him.
You know, Key, what are they gonna do with him?
What do you mean lose a piece like him? You
need a whole lot more. It's not just the Sean
all right, Trump's coming back off an a cl We
don't know what that's gonna look like next year. It

(29:10):
takes a year and a half or two they really
get back to yourself from an ACL.

Speaker 3 (29:13):
So I'm definitely I was.

Speaker 5 (29:16):
I was ahead of the curve on that one, but
I'm went Colin, Yeah, get Garrett. They should have got
him out there to trade deadline. Why are you holding
on to that guy? I thought the Raiders should have
done it with Max, Like, why are you holding on
to him? You're not gonna win nothing, no time to
even if you get your door. This guy's put in
his time. Let them Let send him somewhere to go
win bro, send them to a contender.

Speaker 3 (29:34):
Yes, very good.

Speaker 1 (29:35):
By the way, we have officially hit the Beyonce halftime
say portion of.

Speaker 3 (29:41):
The UH Texans Ravens game.

Speaker 1 (29:44):
Mazi is the update Studio. So her Christmas gift to
herself is Beyonce. We're trying to give Christmas gifts to
these NFL teams.

Speaker 8 (29:55):
Ian.

Speaker 1 (29:55):
I think we got a couple of people on the phone.
How about Ralph and Queens? Ralph and Queen's your on
Cavino and Rich Show, Aeron Torres, VJ Husky filling in?
Who is your favorite team? What gift are you giving?

Speaker 3 (30:06):
Queens Bridge? What up?

Speaker 9 (30:07):
How you doing?

Speaker 7 (30:08):
Yeah? What up?

Speaker 9 (30:09):
Long Island City? Hey? Great, great show, Mary, Christmas, Happy holidays. Uh,
mister Mara, if you're listening, please give the Giants fans
a new GM. This has been embarrassing. Man. He was
on Hard Knocks before they let go Saquon. Oh yeah,
this would have been the most embarrassing year for a
GM ever with the quarterback. Running back, Saquon's like all

(30:29):
time great elsewhere.

Speaker 1 (30:31):
He's gonna division division rival, division rival. By the way,
it's like he went to It's like he went to
the Seahawks and is doing this. It's a team that
you face twice a year in the division.

Speaker 5 (30:40):
And he said on Netflix he was gonna He's gonna,
you know, something bad is gonna happen to himself.

Speaker 3 (30:44):
If he if they heave you went to the Eagles,
that he did.

Speaker 1 (30:46):
Real quick, Ralph, are you in on bringing back Dable
without the GM?

Speaker 9 (30:52):
Oh, it's okay, you know it's whatever. But hey man,
we cannot trust the GM to make more decisions going forward,
you know, Dave all you know I don't.

Speaker 3 (31:00):
I don't like to fire people either, but fire people Christmas.
You know you can have a little a little coal
at your heart.

Speaker 9 (31:06):
Yeah. Hey, I'm in enough state of New York, so
day Balls. You know we like day Ball up here too.

Speaker 3 (31:10):
Very good, Ralph. We appreciate the call.

Speaker 1 (31:12):
Merry Christmas, Okay, I want to get you a couple
more Dick in Dayton.

Speaker 2 (31:17):
You're on.

Speaker 9 (31:19):
Merry Christmas, guys, Rich show Dick.

Speaker 3 (31:22):
Who's your team and what gift are you giving?

Speaker 7 (31:25):
My team was but this year was the Cleveland Browns
when Stefanski went last year, they need to get a
new They get one quarterback this year, baby, And I
say that Vanski goes and I say they've used the
too many quarterbacks. I would give them maybe a Garth

(31:45):
Rooks tape. But if I'm going to do anything, I
would support Joe Burrow and the Bengals they got. You know,
they've done pretty good with him and Chase. That's my opinion.

Speaker 1 (31:55):
Well, thank you for the call, Dick. That is Dick
in in Dayton. He just wants mabe, you know. Yeah,
Dick must have a pretty big budget because he was
he was just changing everything with.

Speaker 3 (32:06):
None of the rules. He's changing teas and stuff. Dick.
We love you man. He's got money from the bluegrass acts. Yeah,
we love you, homie. But yeah, bro, you gotta stick
to the playing bro. That was Dick and Dayton. We
are the Covino and Rich show. Covino and Rich are out.

Speaker 5 (32:21):
I gotta top for one more quick. Yeah, let's do it. Man,
I'm gonna switch sports. I'm gonna I'm gonna show my range,
my sports range here. I'm gonna give my beloved New
York Rangers and hockey spelling saut.

Speaker 3 (32:33):
I'm gonna give them some swallow salt.

Speaker 5 (32:34):
Sitting at number twelve in the Eastern Conference right now,
a team that was actually picked to go to the
Western Eastern Conference finals last year came up a little short,
but had a lot of promise going into this season,
which is stirking where Egors just Sterkin getting a deal,
and then as the net miner there sixteen and seventeen
a minus six gold differential, three and seven in the
last ten after we started the year nine and two

(32:57):
started nine and two. It since then we are seven
and fifteen. Wake the hell up, blue shirts, what's going on?
We're supposed to be way better than this. We don't
have a bunch of injuries to blame this on. We're
not playing good hockey. We're not getting the pucks off
the board and getting the puckets to the zone, checking
off the backboard, and not winning on power play like

(33:18):
we did last year. Some smelling salt, a whole case
offer from Amazon. Here you go, everybody, take five at
the ease, and let's wake up man and get back
to the hockey that we're supposed to be playing this year.

Speaker 3 (33:28):
And let's go hoist Lord Stanley.

Speaker 1 (33:31):
And that that was hockey talk with VJ Pucks.

Speaker 5 (33:35):
First ever hockey sef like that. VJ Pucks, Yeah, J Yeah,
the Big Vanilla and the big Vanilla netminder. Ha, you're
just we're just branding stuff, baby van Okay, keep them coming,
hey really quick.

Speaker 3 (33:53):
You know I'm the nickname guy Ian Ian has more
gifts to give out.

Speaker 1 (33:58):
He's a Jets fan, he already basically just he just
wants a whole new franchise. But what other gift you
got this holiday season for your for any NFL team?

Speaker 8 (34:07):
Yeah, not not for the Jets. This one's for the
Patriots because you guys mentioned giving Drake Mayo wide receiver one.
He also needs a franchise left tackle. It's been a terrible,
terrible offensive line there in New England. So I'm gonna
give him Calvin Banks junior from Texas.

Speaker 3 (34:19):
Yeah. Yeah, this is this is the way of the NFL.
I'll say this is that.

Speaker 1 (34:25):
It is a little crazy how little talent Bill Belichick
left in that organization. Like it's just yeah, I remember
many years not many years ago, but you figure out
the exact date.

Speaker 3 (34:36):
I was on air with Arnie Spanier.

Speaker 1 (34:38):
In my Saturday shift the night that the Patriots lost
to the Titans in the divisional round. That that's Saturday,
and it ended up being Brady's last game, And I
remember sitting there with Arnie, Oh, Brady's cooked, he's done.
And then he goes to Tampa and you're like, oh,
he just had literally no help.

Speaker 3 (34:55):
No help those last few years.

Speaker 1 (34:57):
And by the way, this is not a conversation that
we can do in the next two minutes. That's also
why I have a lot of doubt about Bill Belichick
in the college game. I love this whole well, he
was a GM for It's like, yeah, and.

Speaker 3 (35:06):
I heard that, I heard that I.

Speaker 5 (35:08):
Call strange in the first round. Yeah, forgets you exactly.
But no, no, I'm not gonna ran on it. But I
listened to you and your Saturday co host talk that.

Speaker 3 (35:18):
Man. I one disagree. I think Belichick is gonna do
very well.

Speaker 5 (35:22):
Really, yes, yes, I think he's going to do very
well in Chapel Hill. Absolutely absolutely. The money's there, man.
We college football is about the money. The money's there.
He can get what he needs.

Speaker 3 (35:33):
I'll tell you what.

Speaker 1 (35:34):
We're gonna come back when we do another former Super
Bowl winning head coach. He wants back in. We'll discuss him,
and we gotta do some Christmas stuff. But out of
this sports talk, yeah, man, my movies and music, Yeah,
we'll we'll we'll talk about gift, good gifts, best gifts,
best movies. Best this You guys are the best audience.
This is Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 6 (35:55):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Foxsports Radio
dot com.

Speaker 1 (36:04):
Welcome back, everybody. This is the Covino and Rich Show.
Coveno and Rich are out er towards.

Speaker 3 (36:09):
VJ. Husky are in you want to get into the show?

Speaker 1 (36:11):
Tweeted us Aaron Underscore torres at Big Vanilla Funny. You
know what, I'll tell you what VJ. We could do
a we could do a Pete Carroll segment. He wants
to come back. Adam Schefter tweeted it, but you just
told me that you have some awful Christmas experiences. So
everybody wants to be all jolly and I don't want

(36:31):
to be negative. But because we were talking about before
and this is another one, we could bring in the
guys and Manzi as well if if anybody has any
stories to share, but you you had slated worst Christmas
gifts as a topic. I don't know that I've ever
got a terrible Christmas gift. Now I got a really
bad Birthday gift one time, so maybe I'll share. But

(36:52):
you you want to share a bad Christmas gift slash experience?

Speaker 3 (36:55):
Yeah, I do.

Speaker 5 (36:56):
Because this is here's the thing, man, when somebody gives
you a good gift, you tell and it's you know
you mean it. When someone gives you a bad gift,
you should be able to tell them this is a
bad Yeah, that's not fair for me to lie to you.
Don't want me to lie to you. And sometimes experiences
don't match up. It's not a gift, it's experienced. Christmas
eighty nine, and this comes to anybody in here a
middle child. I'm a middle child, Okay, So for all

(37:17):
my life I've.

Speaker 3 (37:18):
Been like this. You're holding off the olders, you're holding
off the youngest.

Speaker 5 (37:20):
But Christmas eighty nine, my mom sends us the Gaffne,
South Carolina with my dad, my brother Terrence, and I
to go to my grandmother RP.

Speaker 3 (37:30):
She passed away this year.

Speaker 5 (37:31):
Mister Grandma Roberts, see you when I get up there,
go down to her house.

Speaker 6 (37:34):
Right.

Speaker 5 (37:35):
And my dad was always like really enamored with my
little brothers.

Speaker 3 (37:39):
Not to say it, loves his son VJ. Lee loved VJ.

Speaker 5 (37:42):
Vernon too, But my brother was the baby. I remember
getting a basketball, a sweatsuit and like a Swatch. You
guys remember Swatch watches? Are you guys old enough to
remember Swatch?

Speaker 8 (37:53):
All?

Speaker 5 (37:54):
Right?

Speaker 3 (37:54):
I know the young bucker.

Speaker 5 (37:55):
I know Ian probably has never heard of Swatch, So
that's all I got. I sat on it and I
watched my younger brother open up every damn Ninja Turtle
action figure in every vehicle that was available, plus clothes,
plus sneakers. Dude, I was almost in tears. This is
a true story now. It was almost in tears. And

(38:16):
I can remember my brother. The more gifts he got,
he kept saying, oh look look look, Vernon, I got Michaelangelo.
Look I got Dona Tello. Look I got Yasakia Jumbo.
He was the rabbit who gets the rabbit. No one
gets the rabbit. My brother, Yeah yeah. My brother called
me my brother. My family calls me Vernon.

Speaker 3 (38:37):
And I can remember.

Speaker 5 (38:38):
Sitting there being like in tears, like I want to
go home. This is not fair. A basketball, a swatchwatch,
and a sweatsuit and I'm sitting here watching my baby brother. Dude,
it was like thirty gifts and I'm sitting there with
like these few gifts. It was one of the words
Christmas experience. I remember calling my mom and crying on

(38:58):
the phone, like oh goo.

Speaker 3 (39:00):
She's like, no, it's not about that, It's about being
around your familyah blah blah.

Speaker 5 (39:03):
But Bro, I'm sorry, man, that's a pops. We talked
about this. I ain't mad at you, man, but I
get it. He's the baby. But Bro, you could have
hooked me up with a little more than that.

Speaker 3 (39:13):
Man. So Christmas eighty nine, I'm sorry, dogg, y'all we
always go down? Is that Christmas?

Speaker 5 (39:17):
I cross sitting on that chair in my raft Mouth
living room watching Terrence open all those Ninja total action figures,
the good ones too, not the cheek on was like
the real ones.

Speaker 3 (39:25):
I think I've told this story. This wasn't a Christmas gift.

Speaker 1 (39:27):
I think I've actually told this on air, probably in
a very similar segment my eighteenth birthday.

Speaker 3 (39:31):
Okay, so eighteenth, big one. Yeah a man. Yeah, couldn't
list in the army if I wanted to. I'm a man.

Speaker 1 (39:38):
Good buy cigarettes, good buy cigarettes, and gamble in some places.

Speaker 3 (39:43):
My sister bought me a build a bear? What and that?
So here's the thing. So there's two things. One in hurt.
In her defense, it.

Speaker 1 (39:54):
Was like like the first like a couple of years
of what build a bear was, and so like I
didn't even know.

Speaker 3 (40:01):
I was like, what is this teddy bear, Like, why
did you get me?

Speaker 1 (40:04):
It's She's like, no, it's freaking because you have this
and it has that and it wears that.

Speaker 3 (40:08):
I'm like, it's still a freaking teddy bear.

Speaker 1 (40:12):
And I, like you said, I don't feel like I
should feel bad for acknowledging that it was a weird
gift to give somebody that's eighteen. I wasn't seven. I
was eighteen, but I remember sharing this story, and I
forget if I was working with Dan Byer whoever. He's like, wow,
you're just a terrible brother. And I don't know if
it was Dan. I don't want to put it Dan
on the spot here, but somebody was just like, wow,
you're just a mean person. And listen, by the way,

(40:34):
big picture, we're all blessed, we have great families. We're
getting gifts. But and so I'm not sitting there saying like,
you know, I have the worst life in the world.

Speaker 3 (40:42):
But I was like, I open it. I was like
a teddy bear. A teddy bear bear your sister too.

Speaker 8 (40:50):
Means that you can actually be honest and be like
what the hell, Like, what is this? Yes, God, you
don't know if it's someone you don't know. You can't
really be like, why did you give me a Teddy
Bear at your sister?

Speaker 3 (41:00):
Exactly? Exactly exactly, So I just I it always sticks
with me.

Speaker 5 (41:04):
And if you tell us what the building bear looked like,
because I got to know now, No, it was like
a sports themed building bear, but it just to me,
it just looks like a teddy bear with a hat on.
I'm like, oh cool, he's in a jersey. Yeah, he's
got a baseball hat and a glove. That's that's you know,
that's that's okay.

Speaker 3 (41:19):
See that's not me right, like that's and everyone listened
to trusts me. Everyone receives a gift, you just go
wtfl like exactly everybody does.

Speaker 5 (41:28):
Don't act like you all get perfect gifts, bro, you
don't please. There's a few more I can name that
over time, you just look and go. You didn't put
any thought in this, did you. You just remembered it
was my birthday like an hour ago. Just say that
or they.

Speaker 1 (41:41):
They got you the gift that they wanted for themselves,
you know what I mean? Like like, I hate to
put people on the spot, but that's a very common wife.
Things like oh I think that you need to have
like a new pair of shoes.

Speaker 3 (41:53):
So I got you these shoes.

Speaker 1 (41:55):
That I don't even think that you'll like, but I
like them for you, so I'm gonna get them.

Speaker 5 (41:58):
So yeah, bro, I can't and I like them for you. Yeah.
Have you ever seen me wear galoshes? Have you ever
seen me wear pro cads? Then why the hell is
there sae thirteen of them in my hand right now?
You've never seen me wear these? Why did you think
I would like these?

Speaker 1 (42:13):
I will say really quick and we'll get to the
other guys in mansie in a minute. But that is
the worst part of being an adult as opposed to
a kid. Like today, you were showing me all the
things that you got your kids, and I got them this,
and I got them that. When you get to be
an adult, people just get you things that you wouldn't
get for yours. Yeah, and it's like, no, but I
if I wanted that, I literally get it. By the way,
Lamar Jackson is just running a touchdown, Josh. He's beasting

(42:37):
twenty four to two extra point pending. Baltimore is leading
the Houston Texans. Oh yeah, that's the worst part of
being adult. You just like if I wanted the apron
that said kiss the cook.

Speaker 5 (42:46):
Guess what, guys, Amazon, Oh yeah, I got a bit.

Speaker 3 (42:50):
I would have been.

Speaker 5 (42:50):
Oh no, I was waiting for my birthday for someone
to get me apron that says kiss the cook with
a matching damn hat I was I need. That's what
I wanted on my birthday.

Speaker 3 (43:00):
Thank you, pet, you got anything? This is good, It's best.

Speaker 2 (43:05):
I don't think I have anything here. This is usually
a spiritual holiday for me.

Speaker 3 (43:09):
Okay, so yeah, you got anything. I can't think of
gifts much.

Speaker 8 (43:12):
I mean, I generally have some level of appreciation for
we almost you're in this now. I mean more of
the worst gifts I've received. I mean, I feel bad
even saying it, as you guys have said you feel
bad saying it. But it's like one time I got,
you know, from from my sister as well, ironically Aaron,

(43:32):
which she all she got me was like a bracelet,
like like a wristband, like a rubber, one of those
cheap rubber.

Speaker 3 (43:39):
It was just a vineyard violet.

Speaker 8 (43:41):
But even more in her defense than for your sister,
she she was like a freshman in high school, so
it's not like she makes money to like got buy
me all this stuff. But it really was like Okay,
she like you know, opened her drawer and was like this,
that's what I see.

Speaker 5 (43:54):
My dad gave her money to get you a gift
at the ball because then she kept most of it anyway,
and our mom will go, okay, this is for your
brother and this is for grandma. Did you guys go
find them a gift.

Speaker 3 (44:05):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (44:05):
I didn't have a job in the eighth grade either,
but I didn't give someone a bracelet that comes with
the paired nikes that rubber day.

Speaker 3 (44:12):
Oh man, that's bad that. I'm gonn get.

Speaker 8 (44:14):
What's worse if she'd gotten me nothing or the or
like like comically, you know it's a comic.

Speaker 3 (44:21):
Yeah, give me a hug and a kiss to say,
Mary Christmas, that's cool. I got other gup comment, especially
if she's eleven years old. Don't don't force it. Don't
force it, Mazi really quick.

Speaker 1 (44:30):
Do you have any bad gifts because you're gonna do
the whole Oh my god, I'm just so grateful.

Speaker 10 (44:35):
No, I know it's my mic up that we got.

Speaker 3 (44:37):
Sorry, I can't hear it. I'm sorry. It's probably because
I was blasting. Yeah, we'll talk about.

Speaker 10 (44:43):
Beyonce in a second. I'm with VJ.

Speaker 3 (44:45):
I think most gifts are actually.

Speaker 10 (44:47):
Mid like to be honest, like we'll tak yeah I
and it's not it's like your I buy.

Speaker 3 (44:53):
What I want for a reason.

Speaker 10 (44:54):
I have a specific taste, and every now and then
my friends give me something, I'm.

Speaker 3 (44:57):
Like, wow, this is right on the money. Most of
the times it's like oh cool, thank you.

Speaker 10 (45:01):
Like sure, yesterday, for example, I my two my two besties,
we do our little Christmas Eve celebration and we both
like we all died laughing three because I picked out
one of the gifts and I.

Speaker 3 (45:12):
Swear to god you VJ.

Speaker 10 (45:14):
My boyfriend Sean could wear this, like you've seen how
big when I when I lifted this up, I was like,
this is for.

Speaker 3 (45:20):
Me and we just died laugh fiend, she.

Speaker 10 (45:25):
Just she was it was a Disney villain shirt. She
knows I like villains, and it's like, yes, I I
like villains. Wear this to sleep.

Speaker 3 (45:33):
Maybe I might I might die in its.

Speaker 10 (45:35):
Swimming because literally I was just like, this is for
me and we just died laughing, like we had a
good moment.

Speaker 3 (45:40):
But I agree like most they're fine. But it's like
hardly ever, she remembered she when was you got what
was the gift change? Last night?

Speaker 10 (45:47):
So hopefully she's not listening, but we had a great
laugh of.

Speaker 3 (45:49):
You remember Monday afternoon? Yeah, oh my god, I got
to oh my god. Okay, and you know what, here's
the thing.

Speaker 10 (45:56):
She might have bought that like a week ago, but
the fact that she saw and she's like, yeah.

Speaker 3 (46:00):
Right, let's give this.

Speaker 10 (46:03):
Yeah, this is gonna He gave me an extra inch,
thank you.

Speaker 3 (46:06):
Yeah, okay. But the point you're making is like, I
don't really get what you like. You know what I
wanted for Christmas this year? All right? You know what
forgets you?

Speaker 5 (46:13):
Sam?

Speaker 3 (46:13):
You know what I wanted a golden Victor watch, asked
me if I got it? Did you get it? You
just no? No, friend got it for me?

Speaker 6 (46:20):
Right?

Speaker 8 (46:20):
No?

Speaker 6 (46:20):
Friend?

Speaker 3 (46:21):
I want to pair Kobe Grinches thirteen. For years I told.

Speaker 10 (46:25):
My friends, put your money together and get me a
pair of Grinches and they've.

Speaker 8 (46:29):
Never done it.

Speaker 3 (46:29):
But did they get you a kiss the cook apron?
That's the real quest.

Speaker 5 (46:32):
Listen, man, that thing is That thing is in a
closet somewhere.

Speaker 3 (46:35):
I literally just looked at the girl was like no,
because you like to cook and you like the kiss. Yeah,
and you just thought that that was gonna mend each
other together. Awesome. You thought that that I was waiting
a full year since last year, for this year, for this,
for this, for this gift.

Speaker 5 (46:50):
Now I've gotten some dope gifts too, of course, like honestly,
the one I'm wearing this was a gift today. This
is Woodson, my pit bull, did not share this.

Speaker 3 (47:00):
Woodson died in my hands. It is these are too sweet?
See that who get got you that? If you picture
of my kids mother? That is a very thought yeah
for you? This is and that probably when I opened
this morning.

Speaker 1 (47:13):
And you know that could have been a gift that
was twenty bucks, fifty bucks, whatever it was. And that's
exactly it. This is a gift and it's what you
said earlier. It's the thought. Whoever got that for.

Speaker 3 (47:22):
You, they put a lot of thought into that.

Speaker 5 (47:25):
I literally held it up and I looked on the
sleeve on Once I saw that, I was like, because
I missed him. That was my guy man, And like
I said, he he passed in my hands. Very traumatic,
but anyway, good stuff. But this is so there's dope.
Guess I once got a college football almanac. Cool, that
was like the best. It's Steve Hartman right there. Yeah, no, no, no, no,
that's what he does time he's putting college football. Best

(47:47):
gift ever to ALF Talking Doll and g I Joe
Conquest X thirty. It was the jet that had the
backwards wings on it. I specifically asked Santa for that
and got at the year my alf talking dog. My
mom still teaches me how I used to have it
at the dinner and breakfast table would be.

Speaker 3 (48:01):
I used to love ALF. I've seen every I've seen
all five seasons. I loved ALF.

Speaker 1 (48:04):
I've told I've told this story on air many times.
I think Matzi were in for one of them. But
best gift I ever got, I was probably ten or
eleven years old. My generation. Everyone's favorite athlete was King
Griffy Junior, of course, and I got the cut, like
the literal, like the like the stitch, everything like stitch
Griffy twenty four. So I've told this story, but I

(48:26):
vividly remember War to School. The first day of school,
Rave reviews whatever, second day I wear, whatever, third day,
go back to Griffy. Fourth day, go back to Griffy.
Fifth day go back to Griffy Bye. About midweek of
the second week, my mom was like, you can only
wear that once a week because I can't wash it
every day and you can't be the smelly kid at school.

Speaker 3 (48:46):
Yeah, but I freaking loved that jersey so much.

Speaker 1 (48:51):
I think it was the Teal bro. I think it
was like the alternate teal. Oh, it was so good.

Speaker 3 (48:56):
Yeah it was. It was right in that run when
they were right in the middle. Everyth Let me see
if I can find it real quick.

Speaker 5 (49:01):
Griffy to me, I always say, best five tool player
I ever saw my own eyes, and I mean that's
still to this day, even with show Hey, even with
Mike Trout, best five tool player that I've ever.

Speaker 3 (49:10):
Seen with my own eyes. Ken Griffy Jr.

Speaker 5 (49:14):
Number one draft pick didn't take long to get to
the Mason Majors, Ununanimous if I'm not mistaking Unanimous, Hall
of Fame, and Ductee.

Speaker 1 (49:21):
It was the dark blue. Yeah, this one doesn't have
the stitchy on the back, but it was this one.

Speaker 3 (49:26):
So yeah.

Speaker 1 (49:27):
So I think that's a good way to end, because
we can laugh about the worst gifts, but we're all
so grateful to everyone who has given us amazing gifts as.

Speaker 3 (49:35):
Well, or just any gifts. I'm grateful, but I'm allowed
to talk about Christmas eighty nine.

Speaker 5 (49:39):
I worked this out in therapy. My therapist talk doctor
Finkelbaum told me, I'm allowed to talk about this, all right.

Speaker 3 (49:45):
Well, take no feelings out of it.

Speaker 1 (49:46):
I'll tell you what. We'll save, doctor Finkelbaum for the
final segment. We gotta get it to the news desk. Manzi,
let us know what's going on in the world of sports, guys.

Speaker 10 (49:54):
It is all Ravens against the Texans. I double checked
because I was like, I don't think the Texans have
cross midfield once.

Speaker 3 (50:01):
They did it once. Yeah, I got stuffed on the goal. Yeah, CJ.

Speaker 10 (50:07):
Stroud through an interception. Recently, Ravens get the ball. Lamar
Jackson scrambles extending plays doing this, take the hand up to.

Speaker 2 (50:15):
Henry, comes to the right side, across the forty.

Speaker 3 (50:18):
He's gone twenty time bark touchdown, Lamar Jackson a forty
eight yard run. And if Beyonce didn't wow you, Lamar Jackson, just.

Speaker 10 (50:30):
Let me tell you those Texans fans at least had
Beyonce at least because excid Oh of course, but you're
not rooting for Lamar. If you're a Texans fan watching.

Speaker 3 (50:39):
It, you're in chipping it.

Speaker 10 (50:40):
But you could be rooting for Beyonce, you know what
I mean. It's a little bit different.

Speaker 3 (50:44):
You could be rooting for somebody like Beyond.

Speaker 5 (50:46):
I can tell you doesn't. You're not gonna got saw
you jamming over there. But this is just my Beyonce
tay for the last ten years, all her performances looking
sound the same. I don't understand why you guys get
hyped for her over and over again. It all looks
it sounds the same to me. Now dis on me Monci.

Speaker 3 (50:59):
Now it's to a party pooper.

Speaker 10 (51:00):
Twenty four to two is the score Ravens against the Texans.
Early in the third quarter, the Chiefs secured the number
one seed in the AFC after beating the Steelers twenty
nine to ten. In the NBA, the Celtics were down.
Not anymore. They're beating the seventy six ers now eighty
seventy six. Late in the third quarter, Spurs lost at
Madison Square guarding too. The Knicks wins seventeen one fourteen,
and the Timberwolves took down the Maps one of five

(51:21):
to ninety nine back to you.

Speaker 1 (51:23):
Thank you very much, as this is the Cafino Rich Show,
Covino on Richer out, Aeron Torres and VJ Husk, can

couple coming up next, but we got one final segment.
