But thank you Fox Sports Radio Nation again. Hit us
up at Covino and Rich. Let's talk Sam Darnald to

(02:28):
get it going. Of course we got to talk Stafford
the whole game. Hope you had an La Rams sort
of night. I had a feeling, WHOA, sometimes I get
a good feeling. I had a feeling that the Rams
had extra to play for and they would play big.
The Vikings had lost a little bit of confidence, but
I did think that they would show up more than that.

(02:51):
This bothers me, and it's not all Donald's fault. I
want to make back Listen, I'm gonna defend Sam Donald,
but we are gonna talk what the heck you do
with this guy moving forward? But oh, when he said this,
I thought it was a beautiful sentiment. So don't get
it twisted. We live in La a lot of destruction,
a lot of sadness. But this is what Matthew Stafford

(03:12):
said after the game.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
We're playing for today. You know it was it was
go get the swim. But man, it's the people in
Los Angeles struggling right now.

Speaker 1 (03:18):
It's been unbelieable to watch the whole community, you.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
Know, the state and the country kind of get behind him.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
It's it's a tough time to be back there, and
we're just happy.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
Then we came out and played like this tonight to
get you know, something to be happy about. Yeah, how
do you think that what's happening back at home maybe
somehow inspired you guys? Yeah, I mean, uh, you know,
we're living it every day, and uh, you know, it
was it was. It was a tough week for us,
a bunch of moving parts.

Speaker 1 (03:42):
Our organization did a hell of a job and taking
care of us, get us and you know, over here
to practice setting it up with families.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
I mean, it's been a it's been a whirlwind.

Speaker 1 (03:50):
And to come out here play like we did and
really all phases.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
I'm really proud of this group. Did you add that
emotional music?

Speaker 1 (03:59):
I did just to prove my point. Okay, everybody was
gonna start singing everything's better with emotional music in the background.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
But listen, you said it yesterday.

Speaker 1 (04:08):
Covino goes they're gonna play for La and I look,
in a game of inches, right, every little advantage helps,
and if they have something serious to play for, they
all want to win.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
I do believe that, but.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
They have that little extra on their mind, like we
gotta do it for the city of La.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
We have to.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
You saw Pookinakua cheering about it. He was all smiles,
almost tears, like we did it for La. Stafford did
it for La. I call it the old do it
for Johnny.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
We'll do it for Joy.

Speaker 1 (04:49):
Now here's what Rich thinks. Rich doesn't believe in the
old do it for Johnny? And I'm like no, And
there's too many examples where it comes into play. People
play with that extra passion, that extra motivation that they
need to push them over the hump. You saw the
Rams playing big last night. The Vikings offensive line couldn't

(05:11):
even stop them. They had nine sacks last night. It
was an offensive line. It was an offensive line. My question,
just to get it going, Fox Sports Radio Nation, do
you believe in the old dude for Janny? Do you
believe in that? Because Ritch, you think what I think
that everyone's trying to do it for Johnny. Everyone's got

(05:32):
a different Johnny. Look at it this way, there are
Vikings players that probably reside in southern California, but they
don't represent southern California.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
Let me give you a dumb analogy.

Speaker 1 (05:42):
You know, when you buy a car and you may
have never seen that car on the road, and then
you get that car and you're like, oh my god,
there's another Rivian, there's another jeep, there's another you know
BMW would one another one, and you don't notice it
until you have it. I think we notice these things
when they happen because they're beautiful stories. But so many

(06:03):
times there's someone playing for someone or something, and when
it doesn't work out, you just move past it. What
Rich is trying to say, and he said it many times.
He thinks that there's no such thing as wanting it more,
and I completely disagree. He's like, they all want it
the same. And here's why you could see it in
the fight game. Everybody's fighting for a championship, everyone's fighting

(06:25):
for the bag or the heavyweight belt. Right. Some guys
are fighting to survive, fighting to put food on the table,
fighting to get their family out of poverty, fighting to
change to family stars. And then there's other people fighting
because it's the sport you're gonna tell me the guy
fighting to get out of the Mario isn't fighting harder

(06:48):
and stronger, wants it more than the guy who was
born with a silver spoon, than just fighting because he.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
Likes to box.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
Did you just give me the storyline of Rocky three
when Rocky got a little too complacent and he lost
the eye of the tiger. Doesn't that prove the point
Rich is saying, there's no such thing as wanting it more.
They all want it, and I'm like boloney, they're pro athletes.
They all want it. Not listen every team. If you
wanted to dig for a sentimental storyline, you could find one.
It just the Los Angeles one is near and dear

(07:13):
to us. We live here, we know people, We've seen things.
It's been a terrible week and a half in Los Angeles.
There's no doubt about that.

Speaker 2 (07:20):
Dude.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
If you don't believe in extra added motivation, then what
Rally cries don't help. Motivational speeches don't help. When they're
getting in the huddle and getting people hyped up, that
doesn't help.

Speaker 2 (07:30):
Yeah, you believed in that OMG song? Yeah that was
the case.

Speaker 1 (07:33):
The Mets would have won the World Series. But that
brought the team together.

Speaker 2 (07:36):
Man. Yeah, and you're Rich.

Speaker 3 (07:38):
You've struck out on this argument before two octobers ago.
Go back in the ceeing our time machine here on
Fox Sports Radio. You argued with us the day Dick
Butkus died and Covino said, do it for Dick.

Speaker 1 (07:52):
That's been his slogan since college.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
And Rich, I was just rereading Rich's tattoo.

Speaker 3 (07:58):
Yeah, Rich, you said, now, Chicago's not gonna come out
with extra effort for that. I don't know if these
young players even know who but Gus really is. Remember,
and then what they scored forty that night won the game. Postgame,
the players were saying that was for but Gus. And
you came in the.

Speaker 2 (08:13):
Next day and you're like, oh, okay, Danny, your.

Speaker 1 (08:15):
Dodgers didn't win the World Series for Fernando Valenzuela.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
They just happen to be a great team.

Speaker 1 (08:20):
And you know what, the fact that a legend passed away,
it adds to the story, but it's.

Speaker 3 (08:25):
Added motivation in Chicago was not a great team in
twenty twenty three, were.

Speaker 1 (08:29):
Got saying this is a full proof plan that's undefeated.
Of course, it's not always gonna work. Some teams are
just better, but I think it could bring teams closer together,
something to rally around. You're doing it for the fans.
That Dick Bucker's story. That was a good one because
Rich did make a point. These young players didn't even
know who he was. But after the game they're like,

(08:52):
we did it for him. We know how much he
meant to the organization to the fans, didn't they say?
They showed us a bunch of his highlights before the game,
So what got them is inspired and motivated. I do
think those little things work.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
They matter.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
You know, the Rams may have just beat them anyway,
but the fact that they were playing for LA in
a time of need, I think added to it. It
adds to the story, no doubt. But I do believe
in the do it for Johnny And as I said
yesterday and I'll say one more time, Rich to me,
one of the greatest examples was Brett Favre playing his
biggest best game the day his father died, just more

(09:24):
to play for It was an escape for him to
be in between the lines, playing for his dad and
put up crazy numbers on a magical night. Listen, I
don't want to be the Joe Montana here, and by
that I mean I don't want to ruin the Rudy story.
You know, Joe Montana is one of my heroes. It's okay,

(09:45):
but this is what you really believe if you believe
is coincidence. No, that's fine, I want to I never
want to be the buzzkill of fun. In fact, I'm
the guy that wants to have too much fun. But
I'm sorry, Charlie Murphy, I was having too much fun.
I am sometimes I don't know how to not you know,
I don't know how to be serious. So the reality

(10:05):
is it's odd for me to have this stance on
it because I don't want to be the Joe Montana
that says, well, you know, guys, the team really didn't
throw their jerseys on the desk for Rudy. You know,
Rudy was it? The movie was really inaccurate. I don't
want to be Joe Montana and ruin the story. But
for every Brett Favre who lost a family member and
had the game of his life, we just don't talk

(10:28):
about the guy who lost a family member and then
had a crap game, you know what.

Speaker 2 (10:32):
Brandon Nimo on the Mets. Remember his grandmother passed away.

Speaker 1 (10:35):
He found out right before a playoff game and ended
up having like the couple hits, game winning hit.

Speaker 2 (10:41):
That's a great story, but if Nimo went oh for four,
we just would never.

Speaker 1 (10:45):
Have really heard the narrative. Again, It's like the oh wow,
I got these new Jordan's. I thought no one else
had them. Then you see like two other people have them.
Let's leave it to the people. Fox Sports Radio Nation,
we're calling on you. You make the call, like the
old school NFL tapes, You make the call.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
Do you believe in the old du it for Johnny?

Speaker 1 (11:02):
The fact that the Elie Rams pulled off a twenty
seven to nine victory over the Vikings Jim.

Speaker 2 (11:08):
Harb On, Wait, so Harbaugh and the Chargers don't care
about La.

Speaker 1 (11:11):
They loved they were doing it for La and you
heard Stafford talking about it. Then there's always that magical
story of d Gordon. I know that's one of your
favorite stories. How do you not factor that story into it?
De Gordon wasn't a home run hitter, but guess what
he was when he let off the game right after
Jose Fernandez died. That was magical. That was what a
tier to everybody in the stadium that was against the Mets.

(11:33):
And I remember even the Mets players were in tears after.
But Rich is saying coincidence, So I'm saying magic.

Speaker 2 (11:40):
So answer me this. I'm saying moments.

Speaker 1 (11:42):
I'm saying added incentive and motivation to get together and
really come together for one cause. Aside from winning, everyone's
there to win. They have that little extra. I don't
want to be I don't want to be Debbie Downer.
What's the mail version of that?

Speaker 2 (11:58):
Again? Negative? Noar Berto, just sid I don't want to
be negative north Berto. Oh, you got to be so negative.

Speaker 1 (12:06):
But to me, if your theory is correct, and Stafford
and pookin the Koua and Kyron Williams and these guys
really were playing for all the people out here in
LA that were struggling, playing for a city, I get it, dude.

Speaker 2 (12:19):
I'm I'm not insensitive. I live in La. I've seen
what's happened.

Speaker 1 (12:21):
I don't think you're being in sent by by that.
You're just taking a realistic approach to it. By that thinking,
By that thinking, the Charger should have whooped the.

Speaker 2 (12:30):
Texans on Saturday. And my parlay was dead after.

Speaker 1 (12:33):
That game, you know, Jim Harbaugh, Wait, are you saying
Matt Stafford's a liar?

Speaker 2 (12:39):
I'm pretty sure what was the first thing he said? Sam?

Speaker 1 (12:41):
Can you play that one just right off the bat? Oh?

Speaker 2 (12:43):
We're playing for today?

Speaker 1 (12:44):
You know it was getting a swim man people Los Angeles.
I guess you're saying he's lying.

Speaker 3 (12:50):
Then, now, Rich, the Charger situation was slightly different because
they went to Houston as scheduled. They didn't have the
bid Wells jet airliners picking them up in that stadium
bending over backwards to help the LA.

Speaker 1 (13:04):
Cause I still think of them as the San Diego
Chargers anyway. Oh okay, so yeah, it's a little different.
I'll give you that. You know why this theory was
put to sleep from me twenty four years ago. The
year was two thousand and one. Dude, Miracles don't always happen,

(13:24):
that is true. I do not like, and I think
I speak on behalf of everyone in this room except Cavino,
Green Eggs and Ham or the Yankees. I do not
like Green Eggs and Ham or the New York Yankees.
The one time in my life I'm a man, I'm forty,
I'm a man, in my forties. One time, as a

(13:47):
grown man, have I rooted for the New York Yankees.
It was when I was living in New York City
after nine to eleven, and that's the one year they
couldn't get it done. The one year they lose to
the Diamondbacks. Let's up a bloop single to Gonzo and
they win. That was a night on the question as
the Yankees say, would you have given up two of
the other World series for that one?

Speaker 2 (14:09):
No?

Speaker 1 (14:09):
I mean things happen as they may. It was a heartbreaker.
Everybody was pulling for the Yankees, except for Arizona fans
at the time. But you can't expect it to always happen, right,
But there's so many moments and so many times where
it does not changing. You're not changing my mind. I'm
just saying I get it. They are you saying Matt

(14:30):
Damon was lying?

Speaker 2 (14:31):
Not Matt Damon. I'm gonna let you figure this one
out where I don't know where you're going? Who hold on? Sam?
Can you play some on hold music?

Speaker 1 (14:43):
Never I got Matt Dylan. Matt dan is a liar
in the movie The Outsiders. The Lesser Known, Yeah, how
do you think the Greasers beat the Sosias.

Speaker 2 (14:55):
Dude.

Speaker 1 (14:56):
I'm again not trying to be a negative nor Burdo.
I'm happy for of course the Rams in Los Angeles.
It's a great story, but I don't think I just
don't think they outplayed the Vikings because they're they're either
got a little heavy harp because of all this said
this yere in La, I think they're just all right.
Let me ask you this. When they were in the

(15:17):
locker room trying to hype each other up, smashing helmets,
hitting each other in the pad, what are you doing
in the locker room right getting each other fired up
for the game? What do you think they were saying
to each other? Hi, George Foreman, Gary on Tee, I,
George Forman guaranteed, what are you doing this for the

(15:38):
city of La?

Speaker 2 (15:39):
Are you selling mufflers? Dude?

Speaker 1 (15:41):
So many people are are are watching this game tonight.
We got to give him something to cheer about. Let's
do it for La or the La Rams. You gotta do.
I guarantee you that's.

Speaker 2 (15:50):
What they were.

Speaker 1 (15:50):
You know what, if it was helpful motivation, I can't
argue that. So anyway you thought.

Speaker 2 (15:56):
You know what? Really quick?

Speaker 3 (15:57):
I wish the Lakers could have taken. Last night, they
lost by what twenty to Wemby in the Spurs On
Cooper Induction night, and JJ Reddick is a person who
lost his home.

Speaker 2 (16:13):
Unfortunately in the fire, Redick lost his home and they
lost by twenty. So again, it doesn't work all the
time lost all.

Speaker 1 (16:18):
I heard his stories, kids lost all their collective balls
and jerseys.

Speaker 2 (16:21):
So sad cove answer me this, Yeah, do you think.

Speaker 1 (16:26):
This goes under the same category as bulletin board material?
Because another layer of the Rams story was that did
you hear how it?

Speaker 2 (16:34):
Uh? It got out?

Speaker 1 (16:36):
Then after the Vikings Lions game two weeks ago, when
during the postgame little handshake, there was the sentiment of
a c in two weeks and that was a insult
to the Rams, like what are they with the Lions?
Just the Lions and everyone things said, Oh, they'll just

(16:57):
match up two weeks from now against all. I still
think it's a matter of the Rams seem to be
clicking at the right time, right.

Speaker 3 (17:03):
I was gonna say momentum in season adjustments made by
Sean McVeigh. He's always good at that, and the Rams
always seemed to click towards the end of the year
when it matters.

Speaker 1 (17:14):
They seem to be clicking, they seem to be pumped.
They made flat.

Speaker 2 (17:17):
Yeah, their d had momentum going into this, and.

Speaker 1 (17:20):
We can't forget the fact that they got a total
momentum call with that forward pass. My oh, I gotta
be PG here. My goodness, that was a ridiculous call.
So again, they had calls didn't come at least intentional ground.

Speaker 2 (17:38):
And don't forget, we got to remember.

Speaker 1 (17:39):
How teams finish an NFL record. I'm not saying means nothing,
but if a team has a slow start, do you
think how they played in September really reflects how this
team goes into the playoffs. The Rams, well, their ricket
only says ten and seven. They finished I'm pretty sure
like seven and one and the last eight games, and

(18:01):
the Vikings were coming off of a knockout. They had
a throwaway game Week eighteen against the Seahawks where they
didn't play their starters. So the Rams have played as
good as anyone for the second half of the year.
So that's something to think about to It's a simple question.
If you don't want to answer it on the phone,
you could always hit us up on social media at
Covino and Rich and you could check out our TikTok
while it's still up for five more days. Again, the

(18:24):
question simple, is it coincidence moments like this coincidence? Or
do you believe in the all? Do it for Johnny?
You know we have extra to play for.

Speaker 3 (18:32):
And then the second part, I'm looking forward to hearing
your guys' thoughts on this. When I'm a fan and
other fans of quarterback needy teams look at free agency,
what is Sam Darnold gonna go for now? Man?

Speaker 1 (18:45):
Did he just end up in the bargain bin with
with all the with all the DVDs at Best Fight?

Speaker 2 (18:49):
Yeah, I wouldn't say bargain bin, but it's changed things.

Speaker 1 (18:53):
He played himself out of twenty million, you know. You know,
I'm sure you have a couple on the top of
your mind, but it's a little different.

Speaker 2 (19:00):
But you know, when a guy, I.

Speaker 1 (19:01):
Think he played himself out of Minnesota for sure, That's
what I think. Didn't JJ McCarthy tweet something cryptic too?
Am I wrong about that? Did I fall for some
bait online? Like he just nothing negative? Just like if
they got JJ McCarthy, they're not going to overpay for
a guy who came up short when they needed it.
You know, he had a good season but didn't win

(19:24):
and didn't really show up when it mattered most.

Speaker 2 (19:26):
Is it all on him? Though?

Speaker 1 (19:27):
That's the thing, It's not all on him. The Vikings
played like ass. He got the sack sacked nine times,
some of those he could not have gotten away from. Yeah, dude,
that was ridiculous. And again the Rams did get some calls.
They got some calls that that that was a straight
up intentional grounding call that they reviewed and still got
it wrong. So moving forward, all quarterbacks on their way

(19:49):
down should just flick the wrist forward because he was
not passing it to anybody.

Speaker 2 (19:53):
He did have the fumble that led to it. Let's
super really touchdown?

Speaker 1 (19:56):
Yeah, that would have been ten ten rich That's that
was a momentum killer right there for the Viking.

Speaker 2 (20:01):
I saw the tweet that.

Speaker 3 (20:01):
Did you see the Latin phrase he tweeted? Yeah, A
more fati means love of fate. You know what what
he's saying, boy, that he loves fatties.

Speaker 2 (20:12):
No, he it's he metter. He likes fat chick. I
thought he loved fat asses.

Speaker 1 (20:17):
A more fat ass no, give me a more fati
translated into like you said, love of one's fate is
that JJ McCarthy subtle way being like Yo, I was
patient and Sam Donald showed who he is the way.

Speaker 2 (20:32):
Yeah, he injured.

Speaker 1 (20:33):
This is not a time to send cryptic messages at all.
A more fat that's his way of saying a more
fatee is not that he wants more fat booties. It's
his way of saying fate, Fate will have it that
Sam Donald showed everyone that he's Sam Donald and the
plan is back. I mean, I'm your guy, JJ McCarthy,
McCarthy for quarterback. Yo.

Speaker 3 (20:53):
The first comment underneath his post, the guy says, does
anyone speak Spanish?

Speaker 2 (20:58):
Ridiculous. We're gonna take your feedback.

Speaker 1 (21:03):
Everybody's coming down on Donald and yeah, he stunk it
up that line.

Speaker 2 (21:08):
It really was the offensive offensive.

Speaker 1 (21:10):
It really was nine sacks and listen, you could argue
there were three or four times I'm like, get rid
of the ball like he does, hang onto the ball
a little longer than I'd like at times, but Stafford
was under constant pressure. But as many people are discussing
today on TV radio podcasts, what does this do to
the future of Sam Darnold as a Viking as a

(21:33):
member of another team, like the last two weeks, two
bad performances in a row at the most inopportune time
when you're fighting for the one seed, and then not
only that, you don't even get past the wildcard round.
When if you beat the Lions last week, you're sitting
pretty think about that. The Lions win last week, right,
they haven't even touched the football field again. The Vikings

(21:57):
are out out the significs of that week eighteen Sunday
night game, and of course Sam Donald lackluster on Sunday
night and then over the weekend lackluster again. Did that
take Sam Donald from multi year contract with Minnesota to hey,
we're moving forward with JJ McCarthy.

Speaker 2 (22:17):
Did that happen in two weeks?

Speaker 1 (22:19):
It seems that way, And that's the feeling we have
a day later. But you know, a bad game where
he got sacked nine times and it wasn't completely his fault.
That erases the great season he had. Man, how fickle
we are as fans say, til you turn the break
I go. They still were fourteen to three, Yeah, exactly,

(22:39):
So how quickly we changed our mind on Sam Donald?

Speaker 2 (22:42):
If that's the case.

Speaker 1 (22:42):
And JJ McCarthy with that cryptic tweet, a more fatigue
And as you said before, I mistranslated that. Cavino thought
it said he just wanted more fat booty snow. I
thought that was his New Year's resolution. A more No,
that's you in Jersey. A more fatis Oh, that just
means essentially love of one's fate. And now you're saying,

(23:03):
is JJ McCarthy cryptic tweeting love of one's fate?

Speaker 2 (23:06):
And Danny, you and I were discussing does.

Speaker 1 (23:08):
That mean his fate of he will end up somewhere
else or the fate of Sam Darnold collapse and it's
my team again?

Speaker 2 (23:13):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (23:13):
And I was thinking about it because a Vikings fan
commented under his post and said, love of fate? Are
you happy that our team lost? And then I was
thinking about it. I forget which talking head it was
on TV. I watched a lot of sports, but he
was saying that he felt like JJ McCarthy is better
than any QB in the twenty twenty five draft coming up.
And we've heard a couple of people say that and

(23:33):
think that. I don't know if I would agree with that,
but JJ McCarthy's a hot commodity right now, right if you're.

Speaker 1 (23:39):
You know you're I saw that same clip, Danny, So
I wish we could give that talk, I know, right,
But someone was saying, how we're so quick to want
to assume that this year's draft class is where you
need to go? Meanwhile, what if a guy got drafted
mid round last year and he just happens to be better?

Speaker 3 (23:54):
Well, and we've been speculating this on the network, We've
heard it on TV. Like I said, so you're telling
me j McCarthy hasn't heard all of this, and he
hasn't seen how his own team has embraced Darnald.

Speaker 2 (24:04):
So maybe that's where some of this is coming from.
More shut up.

Speaker 1 (24:11):
Phones or an update.

Speaker 2 (24:12):
First, let's got the phones. Let's let's a little rapid fire.
Then will he up dB? All right?

Speaker 1 (24:16):
So the old do it for Johnny and your thoughts
on Donald eight seven seven ninety nine one Fox.

Speaker 2 (24:20):
Bob in New York, Hey Bob, Hey, guys, what's up? Hey?

Speaker 3 (24:26):
Do it for Deamar?

Speaker 1 (24:28):
The game? Right after Damorrow's the buff Footbills run back
to kick off for a touchdown. Yeah, don't you see
so many instances where that happens, or it's like, man,
that was that was insane. I can't believe it. I
just don't want to be a buzz kill. There's too
many I don't want to be a buzzkill.

Speaker 2 (24:46):
Don't you take anything away from Hamlin's story.

Speaker 1 (24:49):
But that's a good call. Someone once told me that
it's psychological meaning if your grandpappy died on My grandfather
died on April twelfth. So there was a time in
my life where everywhere I looked at the clock, at
a street sign, anywhere, I just saw four to twelve.

Speaker 2 (25:10):
I was like Grandpa.

Speaker 1 (25:11):
And someone pointed out the reality is your brain will
make you almost over acknowledge that how many times has
something bad happened and someone hasn't run a kickoff back
the next game?

Speaker 2 (25:26):
Like we are we're just you know, taking.

Speaker 1 (25:28):
The these rare moments and making it seem like it's
fate what you want to believe?

Speaker 2 (25:34):
Again, not trying to be a buzzkill.

Speaker 4 (25:36):
Do you guys see New Jersey or New York license
plates all the time out in California. But that's the
same theory, right, Like it's I'm from Wisconsin, Sam's from Iowa.
Like I feel like I will always notice a Wisconsin
license plate and think, like, man, there's just a bunch
of people, But I wouldn't recognize any of the other
forty eight states.

Speaker 1 (25:54):
I know if I see someone, if I see someone
with a Syracuse University sweatshirt on or something out here, now.

Speaker 2 (26:00):
I'm like, oh my god, Joos, how many times do
I pass a gout with a Wisconsin.

Speaker 1 (26:04):
Or Maryland because you're subconsciously looking for it said, We
call it the awareness theory. It's like a word you
never heard before, and then you hear it all the time.
You see it on a billboard. It's a cherp theory.
When when hold on like when I remember when my
ex was pregnant, it seemed like everybody was pregnant those
and everybody's pregnant. It's like you just become hyper aware

(26:24):
of these things, so you're looking for something to hold
on to. H A lot of times when people pass,
they'll see coins or birds and like, that's my grandpa
talking to me. Like you referenced Rich, I get it,
because you want to believe those things. But faith is
believing in something and I'm not saying I'm not saying
don't have those belief in faith. I'm just saying one
Mike chalking up to something else. And the chap theory,

(26:45):
by the way, is years ago. Cavino, I'm such a dope.
We were playing the song cherub rock Yeah by the
Smashing Pumpkins, and I'm an idiot. I'm like, what's a cherub.
He's like, well, like a little cupid thing like a
By the way, Rich was a grown adult. He didn't
know what a cherub was, and he's like, are you
for like a vegetable? So he's like, Sam, do you

(27:06):
know what a cherub is? Vegetable? Well, I know, like
a cherubic face is like an angelic young looking face,
and then yeah, cherub's like a cupid an angel face,
an angel And the minute, you know, pointed out to
me that a cherub is a little like angelic angel
like angel every like for the next week or so
of my life, everywhere I went I heard the word
cheruffs saw something like.

Speaker 2 (27:25):
It's the awareness and he jokes, you're an idiot, it's
all you now you have one in your garden.

Speaker 1 (27:30):
Yeah, we call it the awareness theory because you just
become hyper aware of something that was always there, but
now that you know it. You're like, oh my god,
so your thoughts. We're gonna get to your phone calls next,
So everybody, Bob, Jen, Eric, Dave, Mike, Manny, Moe, and Jack,
We're gonna get to all your phone calls back there.
After Dan Bayer's update, what up.

Speaker 5 (27:51):
dB guys, David Montgomery listed as a full participant in
practice for the Lions and estimated participation list if you will,
if the Lions would have practiced today, but Dan Campbell
had said that Montgomery will return from his knee injury
and play in the playoffs in the divisional round, and
that is this Saturday night against the Commander's on track
to do so.

Speaker 2 (28:15):
You always hear us.

Speaker 1 (28:15):
If you want to see our handsome grills, Danny G
wrote ugly mugs.

Speaker 2 (28:20):
Thanks Danny, you could see the Fox.

Speaker 3 (28:22):
No, I wrote something different to see if cano would
read it again.

Speaker 2 (28:25):
Oh, man, know.

Speaker 1 (28:27):
That you could see our clown makeup with our own
with your own eyes. We're wearing clown makeup as we speak.
So I'm sure to check it out at Foxs radio
tube page. Yeah, Rich just starts going on a blabbermouth rant.
He's not even reading it.

Speaker 3 (28:42):
Rich started ad libbing before you could get to the
copy yesterday, Rich you said he'll read what's ever in
front of him.

Speaker 2 (28:47):
You should write something else. So I did that. Rich.
Well see us in our clown makeup? What do you mean?

Speaker 1 (28:55):
Because I am an ass clown that looks the Yankees.
Fox Sports Radios YouTube page. All of our videos are there,
highlights from the show, including our bonus show over promised.
Be sure to subscribe. He always has have instant access
to our videos at Fox Sports Radio on the YouTube page. Yeah, buddies, Now,
before we get into the three year stink? What is

(29:17):
the three year stink?

Speaker 2 (29:19):
Oh, we'll explain.

Speaker 1 (29:19):
We'll explain. We want to let you know that we
have a game coming up giving away prizes.

Speaker 2 (29:24):
We do it on.

Speaker 1 (29:24):
Tuesdays Showtime Homes Trivia. Stick around for that. Any final
thoughts on Sam Donald before we move on? Did he
you know it's I hate to see a player. It's
not that he bet on himself because he was on
a one year deal. It's different. Sometimes a player bets
on himself in a backfire. Sometimes the player bets on
himself and it works out. This was not this case.

(29:45):
This was a case where Sam Donald was given a
shot and it looked like, oh wow, it's like Baker.

Speaker 2 (29:52):
Mayfield all over again.

Speaker 1 (29:53):
Are you gonna judge Sam Donald on two weeks after
sixteen games? Unfortunately, as the Crystal Method said, that's the
name of the game ye in which.

Speaker 3 (30:06):
They were the two most important games games and they
could have got.

Speaker 2 (30:09):
The number one seed. You could have had the weekend off.

Speaker 1 (30:13):
Like I said, that game had such significance that the
Lions haven't even stepped back on the field yet. They're
chilling Dan Campbell's you know, having a mohito with his
feet up and flipplops waiting for h Washington. That was
not how you wanted to go out after such a
good season for the Vikings. And it's just so sad
for the fans because they really had so much to
cheer for it this year, only to end on that. No,

(30:36):
that was the weakest note to end. That's being a
Vikings fan though. If you have industry for sure, yeah, Skull,
that's why they probably need Skull.

Speaker 3 (30:47):
And I'm not talking to you, Scott our boss, but
Vikings fans probably need twenty four to forty eight hours
to let things kind of calm down before they really
unleash their feelings because online I've been seeing Vikings fans
saying let.

Speaker 1 (30:59):
Them walk, just let them walk, or as they say,
you know the old saying a two fate.

Speaker 2 (31:06):
What's the saying.

Speaker 1 (31:10):
And translation is not I love fat booties. It's what
JJ McCarthy put on social media, which is to trust
fate essentially.

Speaker 2 (31:19):
Which is I love baby games.

Speaker 1 (31:21):
Though cryptic messages is aside from teenage girls on TikTok,
who else does that? JJ McCarthy, Cryptic messages after a
major loss like that prohas that is blame dude, that
is blame as hell. He's a kid, and yeah, it
shows you how young they are. It really is lame, though,
because you got so many moving parts, so many what
IFFs with the Vikings. You just lost a heartbreaker after

(31:44):
a great season and you tweet something cryptic? Wame be
sure to drink your Horble team.

Speaker 2 (31:52):
In a way rich. They were playing with house money.

Speaker 3 (31:54):
We were one of the only shows I didn't hear
on any other show him or her pick the Vikings
to go to the playoff. It's true we did believe
in some of it was how would your dad say
at Covino?

Speaker 2 (32:05):
Yeah, remember the day Shapiro was in here.

Speaker 3 (32:07):
We were previewing the preseason which was about to start,
and Rich and I were like, don't count out Donald.
And of course Rich saw a lot of them in
San Francisco and we said, he's gonna throw a lot
that might lead to the playoffs. Didn't hear that anywhere else?
We saw people predicting the Vikings to maybe have four wins.
They called it a rebuilding year for the Vikings.

Speaker 1 (32:26):
Yeah, they're sort of waiting around for JJ McCarthy to
take over, and you know, Sam Donald had other plan.

Speaker 2 (32:31):
So I wonder if the Vikings will have.

Speaker 1 (32:32):
A short term memory or a long term memory on
how he performed overall this season, and do you put
more stock in the two most important games? Like is
it you know, do you say weeks one through seventeen
mean nothing compared to Week eighteen and wildcard weekend?

Speaker 2 (32:49):
So we shall see. But you know, it's interesting.

Speaker 1 (32:52):
I saw Nick Wright, who's over on the TV side
of things, on Fox Sports one FS one. He had
a really interesting take on how he finds nothing embarrassing
about failed predictions. And I sort of love this take
because he said, if you're gambling in Vegas, if you're
an expert, like we're talking expert where people pay you

(33:13):
for your picks, like top level, top tier guys selling
their picks on social media. I'm so good at gambling.
By my picks, those guys hit between fifty and sixty percent.
No one in sports, radio, TV, gambling anywhere is ever
going to go more than like sixty percent. So of
course you're gonna have terrible takes along the way. It's

(33:36):
just a matter of like do you try to hide them.

Speaker 2 (33:38):
Or own them?

Speaker 1 (33:39):
I mean it's also how you present them. You don't
know anything, but they present them like they do. And
I take great pride in being like, this is just
my opinion.

Speaker 2 (33:49):
I'm not.

Speaker 1 (33:51):
Clairvoyant. You know, I can't predict the future.

Speaker 2 (33:54):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (33:55):
I'm not Madame Ruby. And that's how some of those
people come across, to be honest, the album, Yeah, like
you know, you don't know, I see a bicycle. And
then there's accountability that's often not taken after you just
told me the day before that this was this was
how it was going to be so And now I'm
not calling out Nick right yet by any means. I'm
just saying that's the culture.

Speaker 2 (34:16):
I mean, some of the best, Colin stephen A.

Speaker 1 (34:19):
You know, back in the day, how many times did
Max Kellerman say that Tom Brady was done?

Speaker 2 (34:23):
And he's a great dude.

Speaker 1 (34:24):
So it's just it's interesting. I don't know if anyone
really predicted other than you know, maybe a few. So
we'll own it, Danny. We were one of the few
people that I know that we were saying, don't care
the Vikings.

Speaker 3 (34:33):
And I'll give Colin a shout out. That's why a
lot of people love his segment. Where Colin was right,
where Colin was wrong.

Speaker 1 (34:39):
Yeah, take accountability because the truth is nobody knows, and
that's the that's the reason we watched sports to see
the unexpected, to see cool things happen. Trust me, I
was the last couple of weeks. I'm like, hold his
ice when it comes to picking. Last night, I was like,
Vikings minus two two and a half.

Speaker 2 (34:58):
That was a couple HUDs your college your last two
college picks hit though. Yeah that is true. That was
a good parlay. Thank you, Danny.

Speaker 1 (35:05):
All right, Well, listen, Sam Donald, We'll see what happens.
I'm sure a decision will be made sooner than later.
In fact, our buddy Brandon one of the great editors
here at Fox Sports Radio is a big Niners fan,
and he's thinking that Rock Party. They're gonna get that
deal done in the next week or so, and all
the pieces won unfold.

Speaker 2 (35:23):
It'll before you know, and then you know the other story.

Speaker 1 (35:26):
I'm sure Dan Byer's keeping an eye on Dion Sanders
meeting with Jerry Jones, like all these things. That's why
I remember we said last year the NFL, even outside
the games themselves, all summer, all spring, we're gonna be
talking about this stuff.

Speaker 3 (35:38):
Who would have thought three weeks ago that Sam Donald
may get less money than Party.

Speaker 2 (35:44):
Well, I mean a ton like significantly. Things.

Speaker 1 (35:48):
Yeah, things changed quickly.

Speaker 2 (35:50):
Now.

Speaker 1 (35:50):
Our next discussion has to do with the playoffs, has
to do with Justin Herbert. As I heard on the
odcome Justin Sherbert, Justin Justin Sherbert and your thoughts on
how do you know when someone stinks rich calls this

(36:11):
the three year stink. I take it back to fighting.
I often do, because you could lose an embarrassing fight
like man, did that guy even show up?

Speaker 2 (36:23):
Happens, and you.

Speaker 1 (36:25):
Could lose a fight but still come out with a
moral victory, like when Berlanga, Edgar Burlanga fought Canelo. Yeah,
Canelo won, he beat him, but Burloanga showed how tough
he was, so even in a loss, he got some
respect and showed that he's got what it takes.

Speaker 2 (36:43):
So you can lose with style.

Speaker 1 (36:46):
I think we saw two different versions of losses over
the weekend. Bo Nick's lost, but I think he had
the moral victory of man, that guy's got some game.

Speaker 2 (36:57):
Yo.

Speaker 1 (36:58):
Denver's found their future. Yeah he lost, but you're like, man,
they're not ready. But he's good though. Huh, he could battle.
And then you see guys like Baker Mayfield, like man
came up short, but dude, that guy fights. It's losing
with fight, losing with style, losing with some pride. And
then there's losses like Justin Herbert, And by no means

(37:22):
are we to show to dump on Justin Herbert. But
there's a different feeling in how he lost. It could
be the expectations that are involved. But Rich is saying, nah,
it's the three year stink. I'm not going on a
Dave Portnoy two minute rant about how Justin Herbert stinks
he's the worst ever. By the way, I'm glad you
brought that up. I'm a Portnoy fan, right, He's a

(37:42):
good dude. We used to be on the same channel
with the guy. But guys like him can create a
powerful narrative when really they're just talking about the money
they lost. That's why he's angry about him. And he
did the same thing with Donald. He lost I think
eleven thousand on Sam Donald. So now Sam Donald's the
worst ever, and then people run with that mindset. So

(38:04):
that's also very unfair. Dude, just because you put money
on this guy doesn't mean he's the worst. But there
are guys that come with an expectation and then those
guys that are a surprise.

Speaker 2 (38:16):
It's uh, sort of like the bedroom oh oh.

Speaker 1 (38:23):
Sometimes you're lucky enough to find yourself in an intimate
situation with a girl that's gorgeous, Sam, you need to
pull up some like sexy music or something you need
to have, like a saxophone solo on standby, sometimes.

Speaker 2 (38:38):
Sort of a leptown. You're like, oh, I thought that'd
be better.

Speaker 1 (38:41):
And then there's times you find yourself with a girl
that you connect with but you might not be the
most attractive, but then that was way better.

Speaker 2 (38:48):
Than I thought.

Speaker 1 (38:49):
It's all about the expectations going in and pun intended
and going into every season. There's a couple quarterbacks that
were waiting. We're just waiting for that for to click.
And I'll give you two of them, justin Herbert and
Trevor Lawrence. Those are the number that's number one and
number two. Is there gonna come a point where we
consider either one of these just maybe not what we thought.

(39:12):
And if you want to stick to your own theory,
three years Trevor Lawrence is at four years. Maybe had
a few playoff games, right, but he's at that level.
He's the first guy that comes to mind, too rich
and it does come with expectations. So what do you
guys think about assessing a quarterback?

Speaker 2 (39:32):
Right?

Speaker 1 (39:32):
Some people have a longer shelf life, more opportunities, more
chances than others. But at what point do you just say, yeah, man,
they're good, but they're they're not living up to their
expectations and they can't seem to win when it matters.
I mean, Herbert's numbers are great in the regular season, right,
I mean fantastic. In fact, this year his best statistical year.
But five years now, he's a young man in life.

(39:56):
I'm thinking, can you really start assessing Because we've talked
the other day about how with coach, it's very fair
for a coach for a radio show, TV show, any
any thing in the creative space or performance space, it's
fair to say three years is a fair amount of
time to be like, all right, this show never really

(40:18):
picked up steam. This coach never revamped the program, this
show never got ratings. Like, especially in a world where
we live in a win now culture, results, we want
results immediately, you know, three years is plenty. And it's
also like wow, it's also shocking to see how some
people get more of a chance than others, right, because how.

Speaker 2 (40:39):
Many people would have been out already.

Speaker 1 (40:41):
I also don't want to say that that works for
everyone because Philip Rivers, Dan Marino, there have been great quarterbacks,
but they also played in a different time, and that's true.
We live it a We gave those guys more of
a chance to develop, and I think we should give
these dudes more of a chance to develop. But they
seem to be the exception here. As you said, we

(41:02):
live in a to quote the comedian Ronnie Chen, we
live in a prime now world where you order something,
it's almost not good enough. Sometimes, Oh it's gonna be
here in today orself.

Speaker 2 (41:14):
Day or so prime.

Speaker 1 (41:15):
Now I want it, now, I want but wait, my
quarterbacks are rookie. There were people that were like Caleb
Williams Chicago, we.

Speaker 2 (41:23):
Ready to win.

Speaker 1 (41:24):
Now, slow downe he was hanging at USC three months.
Look at Jayden Daniels, look at Bonicks. You do see
guys they're like yo, they came to ball from the
get go. So it does give you this false expectation
that everybody could bring it that way, and those guys
that didn't even get a chance at the beginning, the
Aaron Rodgers of the world. And then you say, how
many times I know it's old. Now this is the nineties.

(41:46):
You know Peyton Manning stunk his first year. Yeah, but
you know what, it's not nineteen ninety eight anymore.

Speaker 2 (41:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (41:50):
Joe Burrow, you know, he's a guy that's delivering on
his expectations. So when you talk about guys like Trevor
Lawrence and Justin Herbert and young dudes around the NFL,
Kyler Murray, when does the point come where you could
assess that, hey, you know what, maybe they're not what
we thought or Danny g Do. You just have to

(42:11):
accept that sometimes you have a franchise guy, he'll be
your quarterback for a decade, but you just never get there.
Because Bernie Cozar, Dan Marino, I'm just naming Philip Rivers.
There have been guys throughout our life that were good,
it just never won.

Speaker 3 (42:25):
I think inside the building, in your facility, you know
the guys who are working very, very hard during the
offseason to get better because possible MVP for this season.
Josh Allen, he had a bad first two seasons there
in Buffalo. I'm sure they're happy that they were patient
with him. His third season he broke out with thirty
seven touchdowns. But don't forget his rookie year. He had

(42:48):
ten and twelve with twelve picks, twenty and nine a
second year, and I remember hearing the stories that he
was working so hard to improve his accuracy and get better.
In that third season, it took.

Speaker 2 (42:59):
For the stories about Josh Allen. You ain't kidding that.

Speaker 1 (43:03):
Sometimes you under well, I mean, how much work could
you really put in to improve your accuracy?

Speaker 2 (43:08):
Well, guess what, look at Josh Allen.

Speaker 1 (43:10):
There there were times where the Magic Johnson I heard
the criticism free throws right, there were certain layers of
a guy's game, and you, if you have the ability
to work as hard as some of these elite athletes,
you can improve a part of your absolutely no doubt. No,
I'm not married to the three years, by the way,
So if anyone Dan Bayer, Danny g if you have
another thought, like, I'm going to add this to the list.

(43:32):
Rich and I have a few questions that come to mind.
One of them is, like a painter, How does that
painter know when the painting is done? How does he
really know when you're saving someone's life? How do you
know a few more prompts wouldn't have saved it? How
do you know he was done? How do you know
he's dead for real?

Speaker 2 (43:47):
For real?

Speaker 1 (43:48):
How do you know what a song that's the cut?
How do you know, yeah, maybe a few more high
hats wouldn't have made it better a couple more. How
do you know if this quarterback stinks or not? When
you know he has all the potential in the world,
meaning you know, justin Herbert doesn't stink, but he's not

(44:09):
winning when it matters. But then damn by, do you
remember watching Last Dance, Like we all did, like multiple
times during COVID. Do you remember until Michael Jordan won
an NBA title, the narratives started to become can Michael
Jordan not win?

Speaker 2 (44:24):
Yeah? Can he not?

Speaker 1 (44:25):
So? At one point in time, Yeah, at one point
in our lifetime, there was a narrative floating around.

Speaker 2 (44:31):
I don't know if Michael Jordan could finish.

Speaker 4 (44:33):
So we grew up in a time in Canduke win
the Big One. Yeah, they would go to the final
four and they would always lose, or it felt like
they would always lose. But they were there, Yeah, a
bunch of times and fell short and then they break
through in ninety one and the rest is history. Yeah,
there's I would say to answer your question, you know
when you know, and you know when. And that's what

(44:54):
I think hit with Donald last night is you know,
you had all these other questions and everything, but you
just know. And I don't think we do know what
justin Herbert just yet, but you know when you know.

Speaker 2 (45:07):
Dan, you know.

Speaker 1 (45:07):
It's interesting Kavino and I. You could argue it's a
crutch of ours, but I'm fine with it. I feel
like there's so many commonalities with life and relationships because
I feel like, there's two things I feel like I know,
and it's relationships and sports.

Speaker 2 (45:21):
Oh and fake boops.

Speaker 1 (45:22):
I could tell you what type they are if they're
real fake that is another story, which is good at that? Yeah,
can't stump this guy or he used to.

Speaker 2 (45:29):
Be good at them. I'm the swami.

Speaker 1 (45:30):
I feel like he's losing it a little bit. Stop
it gummy bear material anyway, So in a relationship, there
are people you could date for years and you're still
sort of like, I don't know, should I marry this girl?

Speaker 2 (45:44):
Is she the one?

Speaker 1 (45:45):
And then there's other times I met my wife. I
dated a plethora of women that I was unsure of.
I met my wife. Say, I met my wife. We
were engaged within a year. It's she was my she
was my Josh Allen.

Speaker 2 (46:02):
You know, you just knew, No, she was my you know,
what was your Jade Daniels. She was my Jaden Daniels.
I was like, I just know.

Speaker 1 (46:08):
So that's what you were getting at hun d B Like, Yeah,
it's that feeling of when you know you know.

Speaker 4 (46:13):
And I think that's the tough part about last night
for the Sam Donald supporters, as I felt that you're like, nah,
they lost to two teams this year they had four
total losses, twice to the Lions, twice to the Rams.

Speaker 1 (46:25):
And and by the way, I do want to make
this clear too, No one's like not rooting for Justin
Herbert to be the guy he's supposed to be, you know,
but you give people so many chances. It's look, three years,
there's a lot in the NFL. But you know what nowadays,
I made the silly analogy that if you know right away,
you know my wife, she was my Jaden Daniels I

(46:47):
knew right away, Danny G said, Josh Allen took a
couple of years to get there. How many times you
met someone they're like, my wife is my best friend.
We've been together twenty years. You know, we were friends
for years before we got romantic. That there's different ways
as to get there.

Speaker 4 (47:00):
Well, Dan, you know, Danny called the the third season
the breakout year. But when he said he threw twenty
and nine his second year, that tells you something that's
not fifteen and fourteen. Yeah, Like there's like, okay, maybe
he's on the track, maybe things have turned around, and
then you end up taking off and I don't I
don't think three years is enough. And I know Sam

(47:22):
Donald hasn't been in the greatest of situations. But yeah,
I know last night was tough. It's not entirely his
fault either, but I just definitely know that offensive line
didn't help him. But the last two weeks he looked
like the Sam Donald in New York that was seeing ghosts.

Speaker 1 (47:35):
Sure, yeah, it looked like he lost all his confidence.
So Rich is calling it the potential three year stink.
Maybe it's four year stink by how many chances do
you get in the NFL? And poor Poort justin Herbert
Trevor Lawrence and Sam Donald's fresh on the mind. So

(47:57):
it is time for a little Showtime Mahomes Trivia.

Speaker 2 (48:02):
Let's go the mostly lovable Patrick Mahomes.

Speaker 1 (48:07):
Truth is, I want everybody to love me, not just
the reps.

Speaker 2 (48:10):
It's time for some NFL trivia. I'm here, I'm here, Yes,
we know you're here.

Speaker 1 (48:17):
All right, Patrick Mahomes here to play Showtime Homes Trivia.

Speaker 3 (48:21):
All right, f'sr Security walking our broke Patrick into the
main studio.

Speaker 1 (48:25):
Papa, Yeah, you're feeling good.

Speaker 2 (48:27):
Three kids, Congratulations and I'm going for the three Pete.
Let's go. Three is your magic number right now right?
What was the wait? Wait remember offhand now.

Speaker 1 (48:40):
I forget, but her name's Golden Mahomes, which is also
one of my bedroom moves in the early two thousands.

Speaker 2 (48:48):
Yeah, son't picture of you. Pomeon are like a football
Golden Mahomes, let me tell you.

Speaker 1 (48:53):
And by the way, Stafford got a Golden Mahomes call
last night. That was definitely intentional grounding.

Speaker 2 (48:59):
All right. You know what what call bothered you more?

Speaker 1 (49:02):
That or when the packers clearly recovered the ball, That's
what I call weak sausage.

Speaker 2 (49:08):
Put some ketchup on that. Yeah, that was were twelve
terrible calls.

Speaker 3 (49:13):
Don't ask that I like him when he worked for Yeah,
I was gonna say, don't ask him to critique his
boys there, Yeah, that was my boy. We're gonna meet
the contestants. Twenty four time winner Rich Davis right over there,
seventeen time winner Dan Bayer, Hello and looking to win
a seeing our stainless steel swiggy on our studio lines, buyer,
I'll use you for this. Would you love to travel
to man n A R R A g A N

(49:37):
s e t T against d Island?

Speaker 2 (49:39):
Yes, thank you.

Speaker 3 (49:41):
Cape Coral Florida, Glendale, Arizona, Portland, Maine, Denver, Colorado or Dubuque, Iowa.

Speaker 2 (49:49):
Well, we have to go to.

Speaker 4 (49:51):
Rhode Island after the beginning, right, Yeah?

Speaker 2 (49:53):
Andy, Andy, what's up? Hey? Hey, I had to take
you down my home. Yeah, all right, he's a one
time loser. We're looking to win here.

Speaker 4 (50:04):
I must have gone to Rhode Island before and I
did realize it.

Speaker 2 (50:07):
All right.

Speaker 3 (50:07):
Here are the rules for Showtime Mahomes NFL trivia. The
first contestant with two correct answers is the champ. If
there's a tie, we have a tie breaker question. Your
name is your buzzer, but you do have to wait
until all three possible answers are read. If there's two
wrong answers in a row, we move on to the
next question.

Speaker 2 (50:22):
Are you ready? Yeah, let's get it out, all right,
Patrick Mahomes.

Speaker 1 (50:25):
I'm here what active QB has the second most career
passing yards behind the Enigma Aaron Rodgers, A, Joe Flacco,
B Matt Stafford or c Russell Wilson.

Speaker 2 (50:38):
Andy, Andy, I'm gonna go with Matt Staffer. Yes, yeah, Pam,
get in many yards?

Speaker 1 (50:46):
That guy piled up like I would say meaningless second
half yards when he was a lion.

Speaker 3 (50:51):
My goodness, Andy, halfway to a swiggy as we moved
around two?

Speaker 1 (50:55):
All right, round two? What was I once quote say
quoted saying about Andy Reid? A coach Read has made
it possible for me to unlock my NFL potential. B
co Tread is a great teacher. He understands how people learn.
Or ce co Treat is great. But when he tags
along at one of the pref dinners that I host,

(51:15):
it gets really expensive.

Speaker 2 (51:18):
Dan to go, b Yes, all right, co Treat's a
great teacher. He understands how people learn.

Speaker 3 (51:25):
All right, So Andy and Bayer both on the board
as we moved around three.

Speaker 1 (51:30):
All right, I'm here cause you know on Rich what's up?
Best show on the radio. That's what I'm saying. Thank you, Patrick.

Speaker 2 (51:37):
He sounds like a paid guest.

Speaker 1 (51:39):
I'd love an amazing book for the kindergarteners, which former
player wrote, the children's book Little t Learns to Share
a Lawrence Taylor, B.

Speaker 2 (51:51):
Todd Gurley or C. Trell Owens. Rich and Rich did
tell Owens right, then you are correct to boom three
way tie.

Speaker 4 (52:03):
I love a good three way.

Speaker 2 (52:04):
Let's go.

Speaker 3 (52:06):
And if agreed, clearly a C and R fan there
on the phone, Andy Bayer Rich, all on the line,
all on the board, as we move to round number four.

Speaker 1 (52:15):
All right, Round four? Which team holds the twenty six
game record for the longest losing streak in the modern
NFL era A the Cleveland Browns, B the Detroit Lions,
or C the Tampa Bay Bucks.

Speaker 2 (52:30):
Dan Buyer for the win. Jeez, you're not quick enough,
Andy Weave. We gave you a beat, Andy, Tampa Bay, Yes.

Speaker 1 (52:37):
By Bay Tampa Bay Bucks seventy six to seventy seven
again hold the twenty six game record for longest losing streak.

Speaker 3 (52:46):
Congratulations, that is eighteenth. That's the eighteenth win for Buyer
and Andy.

Speaker 2 (52:51):
We appreciate somebody. I got one for you, Andy. Guys
building a clubhouse out of Sweekye thank you for listening
there in Rhode Island. Be appreciate YEA.

Speaker 1 (53:02):
They all right, guys, money on me over the Texans
or what?

Speaker 2 (53:06):
Nope?

Speaker 3 (53:07):
I mean yeah, you're not very good against the spread, Patrick,
Come on.

Speaker 1 (53:11):
Man, it's been a good week.

Speaker 2 (53:12):
Golden Mahomes.

Speaker 1 (53:13):
Golden Mahomes seven and a half eight points is the
current Draftking spread.

Speaker 2 (53:18):
Can I say one thing?

Speaker 4 (53:19):
Because Andy was magnificent, truly magnificent.

Speaker 2 (53:23):
Andy Reid. I agree, Will.

Speaker 4 (53:26):
I want weighted scoring on Swiggy's I know I'm bringing
up this. You have not, but when you bring it
to the show, like there is a responsibility, Like we're
solely basing it on wins and knowledge, but when you
bring it on the show, it adds so much to it.

Speaker 2 (53:43):
He had two singers.

Speaker 4 (53:44):
Yes, he had personality, and I know they're rare, but
to just base it on the win, I'm thinking good personality,
get one right?

Speaker 2 (53:54):
Yeah, I agree. I like that.

Speaker 3 (53:56):
Andy, go ahead, call back and I will get you
on the mailing list first one of the new midnight
black Swiggies.

Speaker 2 (54:02):
I agree. You know what, damn by a good call?

Speaker 1 (54:03):
Now you get like five Andy's calling up and I'm
here one. All right, guys, I got a guy practice Baturday.
I don't know, but I have a new daughter and
a game of prepare for so it's been fun.

Speaker 2 (54:17):
Guys, go back to your end all right later.

Speaker 1 (54:19):
Guys keep saying it, keeps saying it, especially that Covino guy. Yeah, okay, man,
you know of the Home is always so hyped every
time he comes back you know.

Speaker 4 (54:28):
I also just said that if a caller calls in
that if they bring the energy, they should also get
a switch.

Speaker 1 (54:34):
You know, I agree, because you have too many? What
are you building a raft?

Speaker 2 (54:37):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (54:37):
Yeah, I think honestly, Yeah, Andy call back, you were great,
you win. I actually like that rule. Yeah, if you win,
you get one. But if you were the man and
you battled, you.

Speaker 4 (54:49):
Showed up, if you get one, right, like, you can't
just be stunked r Yeah.

Speaker 1 (54:54):
Yeah, it can't be for everybody, but I like that.

Speaker 2 (54:56):
I like it.

Speaker 1 (54:57):
You know, of all the of all the games this weekend,
there's only one that's like, I mean, Philly six and
a half, but they're all touchdown or more points spread differentials.
The only game that Vegas has no clue on is
Baltimore Buffalo Ravens Bills. That is flipped from Ravens minus

(55:18):
one to Buffalo minus one, two, even two, Ravens minus
one to baltim and now it's back to Baltimore minus one.
So essentially that game is a who on Earth knows
pick them essentially, And the other three games were expected
to see Lions Eagles Chiefs versus the winner of that,
and that goes along with Cavino, your narrative of we

(55:39):
could talk all year about things, but it ends.

Speaker 2 (55:42):
Up where we thought it would end up, the usual suspects.

Speaker 1 (55:45):
I mean, the whole AFC really is gonna come down
to those three teams, Ravens, Buffalo and Texans. I'm sorry, Chiefs,
unless the Texans pull them upset. There is rumors about
a Canelo fight. Oh they're saying, here's the rumor there
Canelo Crawford in September. Terrence Crawford Canelo. That is gonna

(56:06):
be a massive fight if that happens in September. I'm
hoping that we're there too, hoping we gotta be there.
And the other updates that Fury retired this week. So
Tyson Fury retired, that's your fight up.

Speaker 2 (56:16):
Until some Saudi guys like, here's fifty million dollars. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (56:20):
Talking about taking the show on the road, we love
doing the Graduate Hotel broadcast. We have a few of
those coming up in twenty twenty five. We don't have
full details yet, but I did want to throw it
out there for our Fox Sports Radio you can plant
a little seed. We'm wanna plant the little seed for
the Fox Sports Radio people and Ioa, Sam and Danny
g hearing this for the first time. In June, Cavino

(56:40):
and I are going to officially have our twentieth anniversary
party as a show where we're gonna work out the details.
But the dates are June twentieth to the twenty second
of Friday to a Sunday, June twentieth to June twenty second,
So the big party will be on the twenty first.
If you can only come for one night, but everybody's invited,
the more the merrier, so block out that weekend. But

(57:00):
like details on events, venue, broadcast, party, you know, all
those things to be announced, TBA to be determined.

Speaker 3 (57:08):
I read all about this on Facebook from your Guys'
is carl super fan page?

Speaker 1 (57:12):
Hell you yeah, I'm sorry with an entire first, there's
just so.

Speaker 2 (57:15):
Many fans on there that were, like, I thought this
would never happen. That's okay.

Speaker 1 (57:18):
When Kavino was going to become a dad, I read
about it on a blog online before he told me.

Speaker 2 (57:23):
I saw a post yesterday, Rich that says you're an
a whole.

Speaker 1 (57:26):
You know someone did do that, and they did it anonymously.
At least if you're going to say I'm an a hole.
Say it to my face, bro, So I.

Speaker 2 (57:34):
Don't think they call you an a I think it
was the same.

Speaker 3 (57:38):
Are they call you a d Yeah, it's similar thought.
Trust me, Rich is actually a nice dude.

Speaker 1 (57:43):
I'm going to tell you the Gottlieb if he's going
to post about Rich, at least to it. So June
twentieth to the twenty second, and I would say, I'm
Danny g you know, we'd make sure you guys are
there for sure, a little Vegas weekend it canveno on
Rich celebration.

Speaker 2 (57:57):
Just mark that takedown again. No details yet and of.

Speaker 1 (58:00):
Course a bunch of fun Fox Sports Radio broadcast between
now and then. But June twentieth to the twenty second,
we're gonna celebrate twenty years. Broadcast, drinks, food, a little
of everything. So Vegas, Baby Vegas, Vegas, and make it
happen now before you get out of here today, I
didn't want to bring up Dion Sanders and I said
this to you off the air, Coveno and we were
talking about how nostalgia's a hell of a drunk.

Speaker 2 (58:23):
I know, I know.

Speaker 1 (58:24):
Rick James said, Cocaine's a hell of a drug. I'm
a nostalgia is hell of a drunk. We love to
reminisce about the glory days of our teams. Dude, we
could sing commercials from my childhood but can't remember what
we ate yesterday. Yeah, get your ski shined up, Grab
a stick of juicy fruit.

Speaker 2 (58:43):
The taste is going to move, y'all. Take a sniff it.
Those lyrics are weird. The taste is Guy Movien.

Speaker 1 (58:51):
You pop it in your mom jusey frut is going
what I mean? But what you eat last night? You're like,
what did I have?

Speaker 2 (58:58):
Turkey? Because we love nostalgia.

Speaker 1 (59:02):
And sports nostalgia is one of the strongest types of nostalgia.
You go to a stadium where the team hasn't won
a championship in a while. I'll be the first to
admit as a Mets fan. You go to City Field
back in the day, say stadium, we're still talking about
Gary Carter's perm and keithr.

Speaker 2 (59:17):
Nanda as mustache.

Speaker 1 (59:18):
Because if your team has no recent glory, you will
always talk.

Speaker 2 (59:23):
Jets fans will talking about Joe Namath still.

Speaker 1 (59:25):
You know, like you know, when you think about your
team and the glory days, you know, Minnesota Twins fans.
They're talking about the late great Kirby Puckin and you
know Dan Gladden's mullet. We always loved the nostalgia and
the Cowboys are one of those teams that we love
to think, you know, America's team, you know, settled down,
but they have not won since many of us were

(59:46):
in Greade school. Since for they they haven't been playoff relevant,
in super Bowl relevant since the nineties, before smartphones, before
you were when you were dialing up with Aoakan silver tabs,
you were rocking Carpenter jeans, the Bob Vila specials.

Speaker 2 (01:00:03):
I might have still cacis.

Speaker 1 (01:00:05):
You were rare and yeah, you wearing your Doc Martin's
and you had a mushroom aircut. Truth be told, I
might have had braces when they believe it. So when
you think of it that way, is the Dean Sanders
thing a play at nostalgia or is it the real deal?
Because I joked with Camino that it's you know, a
lot of teams will have their first base coach and
their bench coach like be former fan favorite players. Primetime's

(01:00:29):
proved themselves in Colorado. But is that a nostalgia pick
or is that well it's a little of both. We
said it yesterday, but Ben Maller, the Great Ben Maller
also said it, which is always fun to see that
we're on the same train track of thought. It's just
a good match, America's team, high profile team, prime time coach.

(01:00:49):
It's just it just seems like it would fit, you know,
he can handle that. Maybe there'll be more developments before tomorrow.
But something to think about primetime Dallas right, fit your thoughts.
We'll get to that tomorrow. Until then, have a great
night a riba there you maybe in the promised goodbye guys,
