I believe the number is of subscribers who thought possibly
they would be without CBS and other paramount channels on

their streaming service if an agreement was not reached. And
this had sports fans going crazy because we are just
a couple of weeks away from March, right, and you
know what that means, March madness. And for me, as
a golf fan, the Masters in April, that would have
been unavailable to YouTube TV subscribers. I am still with

DirecTV old school, not oldest school, but still old school
in that aspect, so I was not affected by this,
but it just got my wheels turning. And if I
was a YouTube TV subscriber and I did not have
those entities and those things, I would probably have to
consider getting into subscription service and going elsewhere because of

what those specific events mean to me and my viewing habits.
And so that's what I want to hear from our listeners.

one channel, So this isn't like I'm gonna take ESPN,
so I get all of ESPNS. If you take Fox,

I think beyond sports, because you know, I like my
trash television Bachelor, I like my silly procedurals, you know,
like the Rookie Year, things like that scandal. So with
with that information, I would take a BC. I still

get NBA games. I would get one football game.

You'd get some Monday night foot football game once every
four years, and get a super Bowl.

I have to think outside of sports too.

I have to incorporate both. So I think it would
be ABC for me.

we do need to include your other TV shows in

a short term agreement. We don't know how long this
short term agreement is, but was there any reconciliation in
your mind to be like, I may need to go
elsewhere because of this dispute between a paramount.

And YouTube No. In fact, if I had to choose,
I would choose YouTube TV over CBS and then find
whatever tournament games. I guess all a cart that I
would need or use inside connections because we're in the
industry to maybe get some free access. So no, no, no,
I'm not going to lose my YouTube TV. I love it.
I'm at BIGG proponent. In fact, when that story came

out last late last year that YouTube TV was raising
their rates, I actually sent out a very controversial tweet
that was like, look, they tried to fool us early
on by giving us a cheaper version, a better version
than cable in sidot and it worked. They could raise
the prices now because it's a great product and everyone's like, yeah,

billionaires are great, and they tried to give me this
very kind of like guilt trip. I love YouTube TV.

Yes it does, And then I have the other question
because that's where my mind is a YouTube TV, non
YouTube TV subscriber, As someone who has DirecTV, that didn't
affect me at all. They just kind of said, all right, cool,
I we'll just watch CBS and all the other properties
and I don't have to worry about it. But as
a DirecTV subscriber, we had a local dispute with one

of our channels in southern California KTLA, which is a
CW network. Some of those channels and other cable network
for a while for I think it was a month.

Was that about it saying it seems about it, but yeah,
but it wasn't.

Enough for me to say thanks, but no thanks. There
was the There was the ESPN Disney one in September.
That one, Yes, I remember that that was a part
of it. Maybe maybe I'm combining the both. That was
a big deal.

That was a big one because there was a like
a game about to start in the playoffs of baseball.

It wasn't that.

It was the NFL season. It was there were NFL games.
Because I don't we even because we had direct TV
at our studios at Box Sports Radio, we had to
look for alternative ways to watch Week two because Week
one was provided on ESPN Plus and other channels, but
the ESPN portion of it was not provided to us.

So I think there was a baseball game though.

The night it happened, I was here and I was like,
what do you mean, I can't watch this baseball game?
And then they came out and they were like, oh,
we're trying to figure things out with ESPN.

Were telling me this ten minutes before the game.

No, I'll tell you what it was us the LSU,
the college football game. That's what it was Las Vegas.

In Las Vegas, the game another game, and I didn't

conversation as we try to figure this out. What network
could you not live without? Manzis like ABC. What I've

all of the entities and the networks that you would need. So,

TV out of the equation. If there was only one
network that you could watch and it's only that network

place on Sunday. We'll watch the Iowa game in two
hours without commercials in halftime, because that's basically what it is, right,

in sixty minutes on the Big ten network from last night,

two and a half hour game. As long as you do.
If you don't want to watch it live, then you
had ten network. Is you would have to be away
from your phone for twenty four hours, because that's how
you would be surprised in watching the Iowa game as
it replays at a random time on a Sunday.

about live a lot of them actually, But then yes,
you can catch those ones.

Number one they happen to have the Super Bowl next
year super Bowl sixty from Santa Clara. And number two
it's flex scheduling, so they more often than not are
going to be the beneficiary of scheduling, and you were
more likely to get a better matchup than getting stuck

with a couple of loser teams in one of the
windows on Fox or CBS on a Sunday afternoon.

so huge. Plus they also have the PGA Championship. And

football with that college basketball, which I love, love March
in this time of year. I'd be missing out on
on NBA, I'd be missing out on Major League Baseball.
But I feel like it would be enough. Fox was
so close because a big noon kickoff, I'd be getting
those great games. You get a super Bowl, you get NFL.

different than leaving work on a Friday at four pm

up to Santa Karita, which will just delay my Valentine's
little bit, and it didn't make the girlfriend very happy.

My wife did get flowers this morning, good job, but
she did not get a card. As I mentioned off
the top, I left the card in my vehicle. I
hit it in my vehicle, and then when I got
the flat tire and I had to get all new
tires because they were all worn, I had to keep
it in the shop and we didn't get it back
until today.

Games this season, and they just once Curry goes to

Butler gets in there. And the best part is Jimmy
doesn't take threes. They don't need that.

This is the perfect team because they have the guys
that are gonna take threes. Draymond Green might take a three,

likes to get to the top of the key and
take these little jumpers, and I think it works perfect
for the Warriors. I don't think they're gonna win or
go to the finals, but I do think that they
can shock some teams in this later half of the season.

I would choose YouTube TV over CBS and then find
whatever tournament games. I guess all a cart that I
would need or use inside connections because we're in the

I'm at BIGG proponent. In fact, when that story came

out last late last year that YouTube TV was raising
their rates, I actually sent out a very controversial tweet
that was like, look, they tried to fool us early
on by giving us a cheaper version, a better version
than cable in sidot and it worked. They could raise
the prices now because it's a great product and everyone's like, yeah,

billionaires are great, and they tried to give me this
very kind of like guilt trip. I love YouTube TV.

because that's where my mind is a YouTube TV, non
YouTube TV subscriber, As someone who has DirecTV, that didn't
affect me at all. They just kind of said, all right, cool,
I we'll just watch CBS and all the other properties
and I don't have to worry about it. But as
a DirecTV subscriber, we had a local dispute with one

of our channels in southern California KTLA, which is a
CW network. Some of those channels and other cable network
for a while for I think it was a month.

it didn't work. So like, if I come back and
say I got a flat tire again, that excuse is
the window when people get flat tires all the time.
Some people do get flat tires all the time. However,
the the PMS, I think, is the one that you

Especially if the boss is a man and he can't

I said sure. And then as the days get closer,
I realized, Oh, it's Valentine's Day, and then I realized

that me and my girlfriend had plans that entail being
somewhere pretty early. So this is an LA specific problem.
Leaving work in Sherman Oaks at two pm to go
up to Santa Criita, it's about thirty miles, is much
different than leaving work on a Friday at four pm

up to Santa Karita, which will just delay my Valentine's
little bit, and it didn't make the girlfriend very happy.
Speaker 1 (33:03):
My wife did get flowers this morning, good job, but
she did not get a card. As I mentioned off
the top, I left the card in my vehicle. I
hit it in my vehicle, and then when I got
the flat tire and I had to get all new
tires because they were all worn, I had to keep
it in the shop and we didn't get it back
until today.

So there goes the card.

She will get the card at about six o'clock local

Yeah, I mean I think the disliking the Warriors is
not necessary, doesn't necessarily go hand in hand with disliking
Stuph Curry, right, Like you could like Steph Curry, but
maybe not like the Warriors in their.

Dynasty and whatnot. Yeah, I'll tune in. I tune in,
you know, even when they're scoring two hundred points. I'm
not gonna lie.

We just want a little bit of competition, and I
do think this might give us that this format. How
long it's gonna last, that's a separate question, right, But
I do think we may actually see a little bit
of competition.

And you like Jimmy Butler. Yeah, well you've always liked

You like him with the Warriors, Yes, so, I know
I know some people out there but like he's being
a devo with Miami and maybe he was, but him
going to the Warrior I think helps Golden State a lot.

I've watched several Golden State.

Games this season, and they just once Curry goes to
the bench, it's like they don't know who's going to
score for them. Their bench is very inconsistent. The last
couple of games they are three and one since the trade,
Curry goes to the bench and then Jimmy.
Speaker 4 (36:16):
Butler gets in there. And the best part is Jimmy
doesn't take threes. They don't need that.
Speaker 5 (36:23):
This is the perfect team because they have the guys
that are gonna take threes. Draymond Green might take a three,
Jimmy doesn't do that. He likes to, you know, pull
up to the to the post or post up. He
likes to get to the top of the key and
take these little jumpers, and I think it works perfect
for the Warriors. I don't think they're gonna win or
go to the finals, but I do think that they
can shock some teams in this later half of the season.
