Speaker 1 (01:21):
Man, I just heard the sound bite that Isaac long
Crown played of Howie Roseman and how perfect, how how
great to take a negative and turn it into a positive.
I bleed for this city. Yeah, that scar and Ian
Rappleport I think was the one, Like, that's a great scar.
Do you have any scars from injuries? Oh?

Speaker 4 (01:40):
I mean my finger doesn't go straight?

Speaker 1 (01:43):
Is that because something happens?

Speaker 4 (01:45):
Yeah? In basketball I was playing. It was high school.
Like my pink my pinky finger on my left finger doesn't.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
It's just like she's showing she's showing them both to me.
I can't tell the difference. It's like, what is wrong
with these s twudents?

Speaker 4 (01:56):
Like you know, it's like ben, oh yeah, okay, and this.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
Is like that one's at eleven o'clock.

Speaker 4 (02:01):
The one's at new it has like a little curve.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
When I was playing basketball, I literally remember saying to
my teammate, don't throw me the ball because I was like,
I don't know, taking a moment or something. And she
threw the mem the ball to my face and I
tried to block my face and it dislocated my pinky.

Speaker 4 (02:16):
And then I still played volleyball. So I think that's
why you didn't well fix itself.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
That's a perfect connection with Howie roseveand because he was
unable to block the beer can from hitting him in
the fourth head but he is bleeding for the city
of Philadelphia. He's not the biggest winner in all of this. No,
the NFL season, to me now has come to an end.
It is officially done. We can put the period end
of sentence. This isn't a new league year sort of thing.

(02:41):
In March Eagles have their parade and rally. It is done.
Everything that is happening from this point on is what's
coming up, what's happening for next season. There is nothing
left to deal with what has happened in the past.
Today period exclamation point, end of sentence. The NFL season
is officially done today If.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
Only most people thought that, because you know it's not
you know, the conversation is going to continue about what happened.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
Yes, the conversations will continue, but I also think they'll
continue about what's going to happen next year. Sure, who's
going to sign, who's going to shine at the combine,
who's going to be in the draft. But really, for
all intentsive purposes, the NFL twenty twenty four season came
to an end today.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
I agree with that, especially because of the parade right
like that was the bow on it, of the bow
to the season.

Speaker 1 (03:32):
And just when you thought things couldn't get any better
for Saquon Barkley or the Philadelphia Eagles. I mean truly,
this dates back to the Hard Knocks conversation and seeing
how the Giants handled him. It wasn't as much of
a conversation until those episodes came out during the summer
and then just spread like crazy. When he took off

(03:55):
during the season opening game in Brazil, you immediately saw
the benefits of Saquon Barkley. They have been bearing the
fruits of his labor throughout the regular season into the postseason,
and then in Super Bowl fifty nine and then as
the cherry on top. It isn't Howie Roseman's scar across

(04:15):
his forehead. It isn't quin Yon Mitchell Mitchell being drunk
off as you know what and talking to reporters in
the parade. It isn't the Eagles offensive line cussing during
the rally. It is Saquon Barkley being the story, giving
hugs the fans, grabbing them, celebrating kids.

Speaker 4 (04:36):
And taking pictures just with them. The ball boy that
he literally lifted off.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
Of that that is that is the cherry upon cherries.
On top of this Saquon Barkley story, there is so
much made of Slick Rick in Buffalo, Yes being mentioned
by Josh Allen and he gets a new vehicle because
he took the bus to work. Another great story. But
here's Saquon the maximized like this signing just keeps saying

(05:03):
getting better for the Philadelphia Eagles. Sees a team employee
in the stands, hugs him, recognizes him, and then says, no,
I'm pulling you over the fence and you're walking like
it just does not get any better. It's the best signing.
It went one hundred and twenty percent better than the
Philadelphia Eagles could have ever imagined.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
I mean, I think it's safe to say that Saquon
Barkley won the twenty twenty four NFL season.

Speaker 4 (05:25):
Right, Yeah, Like he won.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
And it's not just because of the super Bowl, which
is the cherry on top, but like you said, the
entire season we were talking about Saquon Barkley for positive
reasons as to how he effective he was in year
one in Philadelphia. I don't know how the Giants sleep
at night right now. I don't understand how they watched
these videos of not just an amazing running back, but

(05:49):
an amazing guy in and out.

Speaker 4 (05:52):
Like his comments about Taylor Swift being booted, I mean.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
Like literally, he's winning everyone over, including the Swifties.

Speaker 1 (05:59):
Everybody didn't He also bring on the offensive line and
Jalen Hurts on his late night I don't know if
that is fact or fiction, if that was an internet
rumor or not.

Speaker 2 (06:09):
They were both together, correct, So the rumor is that
he brought him on with him.

Speaker 1 (06:13):
Yes that that it was Jimmy.

Speaker 4 (06:15):
Fallon, so they weren't about to be together.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
He brought him that he wanted the offensive line to
be a part of it as well.

Speaker 2 (06:21):
That's so sweet, and I feel like it's true based
on everything we have seen of Saquon this entire season.

Speaker 4 (06:29):
Don't you remember early on that they were blowing.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
Out a team and Nick Sirian is like, Hey, you're
about to reach your career high in a game. I
don't know if you want to go back out there,
and he's like, nah, let the young guys get some
Like the whole season, we have seen how incredible Seguon
Barkley has been to the organization on and off the field.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
It's it's the it may be the signing that has
had the most positive.

Speaker 2 (06:55):
Impact and immediate positive yes right in sports, yes, probably.

Speaker 1 (07:01):
And then you take the coin and you flip it
in the air and it lands on the other side
and you have Aaron Rodgers. And that's where all of
this led my mind to today, is how amazing this
is for Philadelphia. And then, in a week where the
New York Jets had to release a statement to say

(07:23):
that they didn't want Aaron Rodgers after Jay Glazier broke
the news on Super Bowl Sunday that Rogers wasn't going
to be coming back, the Jets actually release a statement.
There's a graphic made for it on Twitter like that's
the other side of the Saquon coin. Everything has worked
out magnificently well for the Philadelphia Eagles with Saquon Barkley,

(07:43):
more than you could expect. Aaron Rodgers is the opposite
where you had all of this hope, all of these dreams.
In fact, Monci, I don't know if we'd call it
a meme, but anything that I've seen on Twitter in
the last six months that has had to do with
great expectations falling flat on your face is a meme

(08:05):
of Aaron Rodgers running out of the tunnel with the
American flag on his opening night of the New York Jets.
That signifies whatever you had hopes and dreams of you
could do it for your Valentine's Day plans tonight really
hand my Valentine's Day, you know, start of the day,
it's Aaron Rodgers running out of that tunnel with the flag.
Because of how much of a failure it was not

(08:26):
only for Rogers, but for all of the Jets fans
and all of the expectations that they have this season,
and that.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
Just the Aaron Rodgers side of the coin is incredible,
how quickly it fell flat. It did not last at all,
even coming into this season. But that meme, that gift
of him running out with the American flag, you can't
help but chuckle because you know what happened thirty seven
seconds later. You can't help but chuckle. And it's like, Ah,

(08:53):
the Terrible And then this year comes around and just
as disappointed. Yeah he played, but just as disappoin It was.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
Even more disappointing because they won a couple of games
at the end of the year. And I know Rodgers
was banged up and beat up, but it's not like
they landed the first overall pick, right, and we don't
know there's going to be a franchise quarterback in the mix.
We have no idea. But you know, they ended up
beating the Jaguars and they beat the Dolphins in the

(09:21):
final week, So they won two o their last four,
dropping them in the NFL draft order for no reason whatsoever. Yeah,
it even got worse for Jets fans at the end
of the year because they started winning. And I think
that when we have this discussion, we'd love to hear
from you. Find me at Dan Byer on Fox on
ex find her at Moncey Belanos We'll also take your

(09:42):
phone calls. Eight seven seven, nine to nine On Fox.
It's very difficult to find someone who has the Saquon
Barkley story. Yeah, but there are more Aaron Rodgers tales
than you would believe when it comes to sports and
how we look at athletics and expectations. And I'd love
to hear your suggestions. Eight seven seven nine to nine,

(10:03):
Non Fox, Jason Stewart's here Iowa, sam Isaac Glowing Crown
along with Monte Belanios and me, Dan Buyer, Infra Cavino
and Rich because I'm living one right now. A bit
in the NBA with the Milwaukee Bucks Damian Lillard, Yeah,
and the signing of what could have been a finally
you have a true not even a number two like
you have a one B to Giannis, and then last

(10:26):
year completely craps out. This year, the Bucks didn't start
off great. They've played much better basketball since their poor start,
but it's not like they're hovering around one or two
in the East. They're sitting there floating in the five
spot right now. Damian Lillard's coming off of a game
where Yannis didn't play and he had ten turnovers, so
so this.

Speaker 4 (10:47):
Is like, this is this is your reality.

Speaker 1 (10:50):
Yeah, and it's not as bad as Aaron Rodgers, but
it's the point of you had the expectations like you
did with the Jets and Aaron Rodgers, or like the
Eagles in Saquon Barkley and I don't even know hire
the egos expectations were, but Saquan has just sprinted past
them like they were a defensive lineman. Like that's how
great it's been. There are way too many other stories.
There are way too many Aaron Rodgers like stories. Then

(11:11):
there are Saquon Barkley stories.

Speaker 2 (11:12):
And absolutely I understand your feelings and frustration with the
Bucks because I was also thinking that that was a
nice one to two combination right between Jannis and Damian Lillard,
because right now with Luca and Lebron, everyone's like, oh,
how's it gonna work.

Speaker 4 (11:25):
They're both they both need the ball.

Speaker 2 (11:27):
But when Lillard Dame Time went to Milwaukee, you were like,
that's gonna be a good one two punch.

Speaker 1 (11:31):
Finally Dan gets another, right.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
Yes, gets a shot at the ring. He's never he's
always been alone. You thought all of that as a
Clippers fan man, the expectation and the highs that I've
been living for three years. Every time Kawhi steps on
the court and then gets hurt, it is unreal.

Speaker 4 (11:53):
It's like, why do I keep thinking it's gonna be
okay Dan whenever.

Speaker 1 (11:56):
He goes on the court, because he's Kawahi.

Speaker 4 (11:57):
Because he's Kawhi. And then he gets flash year.

Speaker 2 (12:00):
Remember he got hurt, then gets better and plays right
up until the playoffs, and then it's like no, no, no,
don't play him yet.

Speaker 4 (12:07):
And then they kind of made him play.

Speaker 2 (12:09):
I think it was Game two against the Maps after
we won Game one, and you were like, he wasn't
ready and it threw a wrench in the mix. And
again it's like the expectation of Kawhi was so high,
so exciting, you know, for Clipper fans, because we really
had high hopes, and especially at.

Speaker 4 (12:25):
One point with Paul George. Not anymore of that guy.
I don't even know what he's doing in Philly.

Speaker 2 (12:29):
But man, the disappointment in not really even getting a
full Kawhi. Not one season did we get a full Kauwhi.

Speaker 1 (12:38):
It's like when you have a glass of kool aid
with ice and you've drank the kool aid, but the
ice is still there and there's remnants of the kool aid,
so you know, you know, you pour more water into
it to try to get more out of.

Speaker 4 (12:49):
It, and then that's literally that's so.

Speaker 1 (12:51):
Good and it's so much less. Yes, So you drink
that and then there's just a little bit like there's
just this hint of redness from your black cherry kool
Aid that that love so much. It's my favorite kool Aid,
the flavor, by the way. And then you drink it
again and then it's just tasting like water and it
never lives up to that.

Speaker 4 (13:08):
That's what I do with my Margarita's, you know, just
so fad.

Speaker 1 (13:12):
It absolutely is.

Speaker 4 (13:14):
But yeah, that's so right, that's so right.

Speaker 2 (13:16):
Even I did, I did think of one in the
NBA dan that I think was probably worse than both
that we just mentioned.

Speaker 1 (13:23):
Were the expectations and then whoa, yes, who's that.

Speaker 2 (13:27):
The big three in Brooklyn James Hard and Kyrie Irving
and Kevin Durant.

Speaker 4 (13:32):
Who played what sixteen games together? Remember that, remember that
it is it is.

Speaker 2 (13:40):
A footnote now when that was supposed to be the
big three.

Speaker 1 (13:44):
Yes, it almost worked out for them against the Bucks
in the NBA championship season because Kyrie was hurt and
James Harden was hurt and they altered, and then then
one got hurt and the other word returned where it
was like, Okay, I'm gonna get hurt. Now, okay, I'm back,
so you can go, but we're not gonna play again.

Speaker 4 (14:02):
And the other one was like I'm gonna get traded.

Speaker 2 (14:04):
I'm like over this like a can literally never it
was just that threesome, that Big three, whatever it was,
lasted just as long as Aaron Rodgers running out with
the fly.

Speaker 1 (14:15):
I think that's fair, and I think even the nets
like in a lesser argument because I don't know how
much you expected from the Kevin Garnett Paul Pierce, but
at least within that organization you were maybe hoping better things.
But they were they were in the later part of
their career, so it didn't have the same effect. I
think that's good. Jason Stewart, that's a good suggestion.

Speaker 6 (14:31):
Let me ask you, guys this, so did the whole
gambling thing with sho hail Tani? Does that take away
from the season he had? Because when I think about
instant impacts and winning a championship of the team over
delivering after being hyped up so much. I would say
on field performance, I think sho hal Tani is kind
of like Saquonaquan was a much more impactful person off

(14:55):
the field, and he wasn't involved in a gambling scandal.
But do you put show he in that category.

Speaker 4 (15:01):
Yes, that's actually a really good example.

Speaker 2 (15:03):
But I do think that for a lot of people,
the gambling situation tarnished his and year even maybe legacy.

Speaker 1 (15:12):
I don't, and the reason being is he didn't pitch. Ok,
he didn't hit the Grand Slam to win Game one.
He didn't you know, like these are like those are
seemingly all the things that I felt like Saquon did,
Like Saquon, you're not wrong, like hit all these marks and.

Speaker 4 (15:29):
Kept yeah, yes, you're you're so honest.

Speaker 1 (15:31):
So and it's not that it's like I feel like
Saquon was maxed out, Like you can't do any more
than he did. Where Otani for as great of a
season as it is, you can actually say, well, he
still hasn't pitched yet.

Speaker 4 (15:44):
He still hasn't pitched yet.

Speaker 2 (15:45):
But I agree with Jason that it was an immediate
impact that we don't tend to see right away.

Speaker 4 (15:50):
When it comes to a player arriving on a new team.

Speaker 1 (15:53):
It's one of the few success stories, immediate success stories
difficult to think of. I would say, Nick, say, been
in Alabama Okay was one that I remember when not
to pat myself on the back, But he didn't ask.
I can't remember what the question was, but I said,
he'll win a national championship within three years of being there, okay.
And it was like it was it was, you know,

(16:15):
first year, mediocre, second year on top of the game
they lost to Florida. The next year they're national champs.
So I thought that that was the case and then
just success, success, success all the way through. But there
are very few others that you can match. And I
think you think of more disappointments, and it's usually players
changing teams or coaches changing places to go different spots

(16:36):
where you have these expectations, where that's where we want
to hear from. You get her at Manzi Belgias, you
could find me at Dan Byron Fox. I'm going to
give you one outside of the sports world. So there
was a song last spring that Post Malone put out
as a as a thirty second clip. Okay and he

(16:57):
put it out on Instagram and it went crazy because
you're like, post Malone is doing country and he's teaming
up with one of the biggest country stars that you
have ever that we've had at that time, Like, how
good could this be? From post Malone and Morgan Wallen? Okay,

(17:17):
so nice. I want you to hear this song, and
I want you to judge it in the first this
first part here, Okay, it's a it's a good song.
It's it's all right, let me let me test it out. Okay,
it's good. It's it's got a little it's got a

(17:38):
little hook. But once you get once you get to
the chorus, which was the only thing that post Malone
posted on his on his Instagram, everybody thought, the whole
song is going to be as good as the thirty
seconds that you're about to hear. And then when the
song comes out, people are like, oh, it's not like
this was the part you heard right here? Yep, so

(18:02):
you can you know, yes, And then you got post
Malone doing this whole thing. We're so excited for this
song to come out, Summer Banger of twenty twenty four.
This is gonna be playing everywhere and then and then
this song came out and you're.

Speaker 4 (18:17):
Like, you're like, okay, yeah, yeah, okay.

Speaker 1 (18:20):
That's what I put to that. I'm saying it's Aaron
Rodgers esque. But in those expectations you can fit it
out if you want.

Speaker 4 (18:26):
Sammy, I have a nonsports one. I mean in food.

Speaker 2 (18:29):
Actually I've went in food, and none of you are
going to maybe you will agree.

Speaker 4 (18:33):
Actually, bacon smells like heaven.

Speaker 2 (18:37):
Bacon smells like the most delicious thing when it's cooking,
And anytime I've ever had bacon, I'm like, all right,
Like it never lives up to the smell. Not once
have I And sometimes I'm sure most most of you.

Speaker 1 (18:53):
Don't agree, strongly disagree. Fourth, she is a vegetarian, But
I'm telling you, if you bring.

Speaker 2 (18:59):
Your bacon right now, I would try it and it
would not live up to the smell. Same thing with
a waffle cone, like for ice cream. The waffle cone
smells so good.

Speaker 1 (19:08):
You know, she's got a point. I used to feel
that same way about coffee. You do have a point.

Speaker 4 (19:14):
Well, there we go. See it doesn't taste the wad.

Speaker 1 (19:16):
How do you make your bacon? Fry it?

Speaker 4 (19:18):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (19:19):
I bake it. We make it though it is.

Speaker 3 (19:22):
He's bacon, Yes, bacon, the bacon.

Speaker 1 (19:26):
Yes, you think frying bacon is the way to go?
Bake it bacon at three fifty on that. Yeah, it's
it's good. It really is. You could get it to
whatever level and it's not all crispy, and it's not
doesn't curl up, so half of it is crunchy and
then the half of it is gristle that hasn't cooked.
You have to bake it because then all that fat
renders in the whole thing is amazing.

Speaker 4 (19:46):
I love fat, you know what I'm saying, Like I I.

Speaker 1 (19:48):
Know, I get it. It's better.

Speaker 4 (19:49):
It tastes good, and it's never lived up to the smell.

Speaker 1 (19:52):
Bigger Bronco fan Brady to the Buccaneers, Peyton Manning to
the Broncos. Living of hitting those expectations, do you think
that the that matches Saquon Brady had the one Super
Bowl in his three seasons. Manning had two Super Bowl
appearances one Super Bowl winn in its four seasons, plus
a season that set all types of NFL records.

Speaker 2 (20:13):
It's like, yes, there was immediate impact, but now I'm
with you on how you how you said this is
different than Otani.

Speaker 4 (20:20):
I see what no like there. I don't think there is.

Speaker 2 (20:23):
A comparison to what Saquon has done to be the great,
now that you really put it into perspective, I don't
think there is one exactly the same. There has been
immediate success in other situations, but no Saquonaquon.

Speaker 4 (20:37):
It was Saquon's year, allright?

Speaker 1 (20:39):
Was Sam?

Speaker 3 (20:40):
So you brought up I had some help with Morgan
Wallen in Post Malone, and you said, it's really the
chorus that sells you, but the rest of the song
is like yeah.

Speaker 1 (20:47):
People got to taste it and the like when is
the song going to be released? How they got released?
And everyone's like, well that was the best part. How
about this?

Speaker 3 (20:54):
People have long told me that this is this song
will hype you up so much to start, but when
it gets to the chorus, it's a letdown.

Speaker 1 (21:00):
I'm We're going here, yes, absolutely, how okay?

Speaker 3 (21:05):
So this is such a a uh I have the
Tiger by Survivor and you're like, okay, So the rest
of the song just has to match this intensity, this
this like this this iconic sound. That's kind of a contradiction.

Speaker 1 (21:18):
But there's a Taylor swift song that is like this
which one, Well, it's it's the one we're gonna done
on a field that I have done the next time.
And then she's like, you got my blue jeans, blue
jeans blued in work or whatever. But the intro is
so much better because it's you're about style.

Speaker 2 (21:36):
You're talking about style, and the intro to style is excellent.

Speaker 1 (21:40):
Yes, you are not wrong about it. I agree, Sam. Yeah,
you get enjoyed. I'm with you.

Speaker 3 (21:44):
And then you're like, this guy's got kind of like
an airy, high pitched voice, and I think the whole
song is great, but it doesn't match that first thirty
to forty five seconds.

Speaker 2 (21:52):
Yeah, yeah, but I do love this song, especially playing
it on Guitar Hero back in the day.

Speaker 4 (21:58):
That died real quick.

Speaker 1 (21:59):
Good work, Iowa, Sam.

Speaker 2 (22:00):
Yeah, but style, Yes, Dan, you're not wrong.

Speaker 4 (22:03):
That's a great song.

Speaker 1 (22:04):
She's Monty Bolano, So I'm Dan Bayer. Ross tweets in

I'm here with a full picture of Margarita's and sga
on his OKC thunder.

Speaker 4 (22:15):
Yeah, man, thanks man, I know i'llsults in.

Speaker 1 (22:19):
The wounds in that Margarita Glass. Yeah, of Monzy Bolanos.

Speaker 4 (22:23):
And he's not wrong. He Sga is phenomenal, phenomenal, and
we let him just buy.

(23:04):
you can find me at Dan Byer on Fox. Yes,
this is the jam. This is a great part of
the song.

Speaker 4 (23:09):
The whole song is great.

Speaker 1 (23:10):
But no, that's wrong. It's really good. In about ten seconds,
it's not gonna be You like the chorus fifteen seconds? Correct?

Speaker 4 (23:19):
You like the chorus.

Speaker 1 (23:22):
So very dramatic, very dramatic, and you got that.

Speaker 6 (23:30):
James, how does this play in the Arena. Manzi, is
this one of her bangers?

Speaker 4 (23:38):
Yeah? Yeah, it definitely. It played out our concert.

Speaker 2 (23:41):
Yes, and it's from one of her big ones from
a certain album.

Speaker 4 (23:45):
You know what I mean, because it was the Eras tour,
so it was all the albums.

Speaker 1 (23:49):
I like it.

Speaker 4 (23:50):
I love this song.

Speaker 6 (23:51):
I think I think I'm maybe uh agreeing with Manzi
on this one. I liked the whole jam here.

Speaker 2 (23:56):
Dan, but I did I'm not when Dan said what
he said, I unto it. I was like, yes, the
intro is really good, but I like the whole.

Speaker 1 (24:03):
It takes a turn. It does. It takes a positive turn,
and so much in music, we just want to wallow
in darkness, and so do.

Speaker 4 (24:13):
You like it when it goes back?

Speaker 1 (24:14):
Yes?

Speaker 4 (24:14):
Yes, okay, okay, yes, I could totally.

Speaker 1 (24:19):
I could totally vibe with this. I'm feeling this and
then it just I could do that song no chorus, no,
just give me just I go on YouTube find Taylor
Swift style with no chorus and I'm like, all right, repeat, repeat,
like Driving Baseline. Yeah, yes, absolutely for sure, and I

(24:41):
think it's I'm glad that Jason is a fan of
that song. I like the beginning of that song, but
it just turned away from me. It was a good
one last night at the Galen Center in Los Angeles.
It was u c l A ranked number one and unbeaten,
go and face their long time I'm Big ten conference
rival USC Big ten. Yes, how poor Pac twelve. They

(25:06):
couldn't even get that game like in their own league.
It had to be a Big ten matchup. But you
had one versus six last night on the ninth channel
that I turned to, and by channel I mean Peacock
streaming service. Juju Watkins was amazing for USC. USC shut
down the Bruins in the fourth quarter. Juju Watkins line

(25:29):
last night thirty eight points, eleven rebounds, eight blocks, five assists. Yeah,
and there isn't a peep about it today.

Speaker 4 (25:38):
Well, maybe it shouldn't have been on Peacock for one.

Speaker 1 (25:42):
For one, yes, ok, I'm game for that. I actually
went into Peacock looking for the game at first. And
we also watched Traders and that was a new episode
on Thursday night that was on the main screen. At
no point did it say live right now UCLA and USC.
I was shocked about that. And it was the fourth

(26:04):
it was the fourth quarter and USC just again ended
up dominating. But with those things, you have to make
them ready made for the viewer when you have that
sort of sort of event. And I'm thinking to myself
again to grab Caitlin Clark and reel her back into
this conversation. If that was Caitlin Clark last night, the

(26:25):
game probably is front and center on Peacock, or it's
front and center somewhere else.

Speaker 2 (26:31):
You're not wrong, because I did watch it on Peacock,
but I had to find it. I had to scroll through.
Want to watch this again? Or you want to check
out these new shows? How about these new movies?

Speaker 4 (26:41):
Do you want it? Did you see this?

Speaker 2 (26:42):
And I go all the way down and then I
found it, and I couldn't believe how hard it was
to find it. I thought it was going to be
right there as soon as at seven fifteen.

Speaker 4 (26:51):
When I was looking for it, you know what I mean.
I couldn't believe it.

Speaker 2 (26:54):
It should have been definitely advertised or promoted, marketed, put
on something else sized Peacock, because the game delivered, and
Juju Watkins delivered. And if you like Caitlin Clark, you
will like Juju Watkins, you know what I mean.

Speaker 4 (27:09):
Like if you if you like that.

Speaker 3 (27:11):
You're going to like her, you mean Juju Swatkins.

Speaker 1 (27:15):
Sure, very good she had like well, I didn't want
to No, you're Chris Berman. Noman's kind of stepped aside.
You should take the uh you should.

Speaker 3 (27:23):
I'm not taking credit for that. That was one of
the broadcasters last night. I was watching. I think she
had like five blocks, shit, eight eight whatever it was
she was and she was blocking like the UCLA center
Lauren Betts's shit, do anything. He's six foot seven, I believe.
And yeah, she had an amazing Juju had an amazing performance.

Speaker 1 (27:40):
Sam. Not to pile on, but you were piling on
the fans last night on X nohow no no, no,
I I the fans showed up for this game.

Speaker 3 (27:49):
I'm saying it's you know, Galen Center's only like nine
thousand seats for basketball games. We're in a county of
ten million people. I've watched other USC women's basketball games
earlier in the season. I guess it's lesser than foes
and people didn't want to show up. How come we
can't find nine thousand people out of a county of
ten million, Okay, I see it. So I am giving
credit to the people that showed up. It was a

(28:09):
good atmosphere and I could see fans all the way
to the top.

Speaker 1 (28:12):
It seemed like it. But this is now, this is
the deviation of when the NFL is on Netflix, when
the NFL is on Amazon Prime. Let's be honest, when
Caitlyn Clark is on Peacock or where she's at, people
will actively go to it. They are not actively going
to see this matchup. And that's too bad considering the

(28:33):
performance that she put on last night. So that is
also then why maybe Peacock And I know people say
that ESPN used to take this stuff and shove it
down people's throats, but now that there does seem to
be an appetite for it, it may it seemed that
Peacock made it too difficult. You had issues in just logging,
you know, having a log in issue like that. It

(28:55):
makes it more difficult for something that you aren't actively
searching out for but want to take part in. They
need to make it super easy for you in a
way to do it. And I know there's no you're
not going to turn on NBC Sports Network anymore because
there is no NBC Sports Network, But that also feels
like a game that should have been on national TV.

Speaker 4 (29:16):
It really should have because there wasn't a lot of
NBA going on.

Speaker 2 (29:19):
The Clippers played in the evening and it was an
interesting game Ben Simmons making his debut against the Jazz,
but there wasn't a lot going on where you could
have if fans I think knew, and it would have
been marketed just to smidge More and not on Peacock.
I think people would have just tuned in even at
the end, you know, because it was like UCLA was
up the entire game, not by a lot, but they
hung in there and then late within like maybe five

(29:42):
minutes is when it got oh, US is is about
to take this? And so I feel like people would
have tuned in even for just a couple of minutes
had they had the opportunity.

Speaker 1 (29:52):
I think Jason Stewart, you know, has pointed out that
there wasn't going to be this sort of Caitlin Clark
fervor of course that we had had last year this
year with college basketball, I thought I mistakenly thought there
would be more of it. I did not realize on
how much the other parties need to bring it out
to us. And this is off the heels of two

(30:14):
versus four. That was earlier this week over the weekend
in women's basketball on Sunday, when Texas and South Carolina
ended up playing. I mean, that's another matchup. It's different
when it's different when it's the two LA schools, USC
and UCLA. And it's also different when you have a
superstar like Juju Watkins, arguably the most known name in

(30:35):
college basketball. Page Beckers would be the other. I think
right now those two. I know there's other great stars,
but name brand, those are the top two. And you
have an unbeaten team. This is where some of that
then has to come to us because I think Caitlin
Clark last year, didn't she break a record on a
game on Peacock.

Speaker 3 (30:53):
Yes, several of her big games last year were on Peacock, so.

Speaker 1 (30:56):
That's not foreign. But what you can say then is, well,
we're going to track it because it's Kaitlyn Clark. What
they have to realize now is, Okay, people aren't actively
watching like they did with Caitlin Clark, So we have
to do a better job of bringing this product, which
was very good and a really good atmosphere and a
legendary performance last night, bringing it to the people, and

(31:17):
I don't think that the broadcast partner in that efforts
did their job.

Speaker 2 (31:23):
Yeah, it's do you think they're afraid of the expression
you just said where it's like some people felt like
maybe women's basketball was being shoved down their throat last
season with Kaitlin Clark, and so maybe they've taken.

Speaker 4 (31:34):
Several steps back.

Speaker 2 (31:36):
But there's games where actually you should shove it down
the throw and this is one of them.

Speaker 1 (31:40):
I think, you know, I think they thought, like me,
that it would be like, oh, if they came out
for Kaitlin Clark, they're going to show up for Juju Watkins. Yeah,
that did not happen.

Speaker 4 (31:47):
No, it's not the same.

Speaker 1 (31:48):
It is not the same.

(32:43):
version of the game coming up on Sunday, a tournament style.
There's the slam Dunk contest on Saturday, three point shootout.
There's not going to be the Sabrina yan Escu Steph
Curry shootout that could have featured Caitlin Clark. There's your
All Star Weekend. What Mancy and I want to do
is we want to review what you may have missed

(33:04):
in the first half of the NBA season with some
NBA First Half trivia. We just kind of go back
and forth and Jason Stewart Iowa, Sam Isaac Glow and Crown.
If you want to take stabs at any of these questions,
go right ahead. I've got some that only I know
Manzy has her questions, So we'll just throw it out there.

(33:25):
See how well you know the first it's not half,
but we'll call it the first half of the NBA season,
all right? True or false that Trey Young of the
Atlanta Hawks was two assist shy of a triple double
in a game this year he had eight assists along
with twenty four points and ten turnovers? Is that true
or false? That his triple double would have been twenty

(33:46):
four points, ten turnovers and ten assists. Wow, if that happened.

Speaker 2 (33:50):
You know, I hate to say true because it's Trey Young.

Speaker 1 (33:55):
Anybody want to differ with Manzy on that one? That
sounds right to me, That sounds factual. Yeah, happened, Yeah,
it sure did. October twenty seventh, against the Oklahoma City Thunder,
Trey Young, who I feel like I pile on a
lot for bad play, had ten turnovers, just like Damian
Theeller did earlier this week. But Trey Young also had
a game where he had eleven turnovers earlier on this season.

(34:17):
So a lot of turnovers for Trey Young, who, by
the way, is in All Star replacing Giannis and Tennekopo.

Speaker 4 (34:22):
Yeah, you know the turnovers from here.

Speaker 2 (34:23):
I never I never dwell on them, especially as somebody
who controls the ball a lot, but he tends to, yeah,
to have some turnovers.

Speaker 4 (34:30):
Okay. I wonder how my questions are different than yours. Okay?

Speaker 2 (34:34):
Is it true or false that three teams this season
have scored at least fifty points in a one quarter?

Speaker 1 (34:43):
I would say that's true.

Speaker 2 (34:45):
It is true three teams this year. The Celtics fifty
one against the Clippers. I don't want to talk about
that one. The Cavs fifty this month against the MAVs
after that trade happened, I remember, yep. And then the
Hawks against the Bulls in December. I scored fifty those
four bulls.

Speaker 1 (35:02):
Four bulls, is right? Yeah, all right, we're off and running.
How about the Washington Wizards. Uh, they fired at coach
Brian Keith? Is that true or false?

Speaker 4 (35:14):
I do no idea. I know they've lost a lot
of games.

Speaker 1 (35:16):
They've got nine wins.

Speaker 2 (35:18):
I'm gonna say yes, because they've lost so many games.

Speaker 1 (35:22):
Did you say, Brian Keith? Yes, I've never heard.

Speaker 4 (35:25):
That name in my life, but somebody's got to be.

Speaker 1 (35:27):
Fired that many games.

Speaker 3 (35:30):
I'm going to say No, I haven't seen that come
across my I haven't seen that tick across my screen.

Speaker 1 (35:35):
Sam's Riots. It's false. One coach dismissed so far in
the first half. Wow, Mike Brown Sacramento Kings came in.
But Brian Keith, it's his first year in Washington so
far has nine wins. Oh, so he actually exists. You
make that name up. Yes, he is still the coach.

Speaker 4 (35:53):
Right, Okay? True or false?

Speaker 2 (35:57):
That the Miami Heat scored just six points in the
fourth quarter against OKAC.

Speaker 1 (36:05):
I'm gonna say that's false.

Speaker 4 (36:07):
It is false. They scored eight.

Speaker 3 (36:10):
Very good, but you had just said only so much
that it sounded very good.

Speaker 2 (36:17):
They scored eight points, eight points against Okay.

Speaker 4 (36:20):
See, just happened like a week and a half ago.

Speaker 1 (36:23):
We were in Super Bowl. That's why if you missed
it Super Bowl, you're in the vacuum in New Orleans.
All Right, last one for me this segment. We may
have some more at the end of the show, if
we've got time. Speaking of the Wizards, tor or false,
The Washington Wizards have had two separate sixteen game losing
streaks this season.

Speaker 4 (36:42):
I'm gonna say that's false.

Speaker 3 (36:45):
Yeah, I think that like, what, Monty, you manipulated this
a little bit. I'm gonna say false.

Speaker 1 (36:49):
You know I'm gonna go true, just to go against
the room here, and you'd be right. Jason Stewart sixteen
game losing streaks, not one more, not one least. The
first one one from November two to December fifth, and
then the next one January third. There was a dry
January for them. January third, January thirtieth, sixteen game losing

(37:10):
streak for the Wizards. The two longest streaks in the
NBA season both belonged to Washington.

Speaker 4 (37:16):
I knew one of them was for sure.

Speaker 2 (37:17):
I just wasn't sure if the next streak was a
little bit less like fourteen like the humanipulated.

Speaker 4 (37:22):
Yeah, two sick y'all send them to the G League.
That's it.

Speaker 1 (37:26):
Don't worry, we got you covered here on the NBA.
