Speaker 1 (00:00):
Another amazing week with you and Covino and Rich enjoy
the best of the best of the best of the week.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
The post super Bowl blues.

Speaker 3 (00:11):
But now we're in the middle of things that made
you go, hmmm, super Bowl addition, any of your observations
from the game or this weekend, but mostly the game,
you know, other other than you know, I know, we're
showing a lot of Left to the Rocket ad take
Me Home Country Road, the Pringles.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
With the mustaches and before that Little Little Caesars.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
Prior to that with the eyebrows flying. Oh wait, eyebrows,
that was Little Caesars. And then Pringles did the mustache flying. Okay,
so they did Eugene Levi's eyebrows.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
I was like, who bit who I think they like?
Is it lev?

Speaker 3 (00:48):
I think it was a callback, you know what I mean,
Like it was a callback of comedy kind of like
I think it was meant to Yeah, I think. I
mean I've seen both speculated in articles about Super Bowl
ads again, much like the overall feeling of the game
and the performance kind of a mid the commercials.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
Some decent ones. The Michelob Michelob Ultra was good. The
pickleball I thought.

Speaker 4 (01:16):
The McConaughey one was funny, but they've all conspiracy.

Speaker 3 (01:21):
The age of being excited for Super Bowl ads is
just kind of done simply because we've seen all these
on social media. They get leaked ahead of time, so like,
is just not there?

Speaker 2 (01:32):
Does that have to happen? It's strategicy, I know, but
they they need to change that.

Speaker 5 (01:37):
Well.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
They want to get it out there, right Danny Soll like,
for instance, the Hellman's Male one, where was Billy Crystal
and Meg Ryan reenacting when Harry met Sally and then
Sydney Sweeney's I'll have what she's having. If I had
seen that for the first time yesterday, I would have
been like, oh hell, you know it was cool. But
I saw it on like TikTok to. You just explained
why the company shouldn't leak exactly like we had Seal

(01:59):
on the show last week. We watched the ad before
he came on and.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
Knew about it. But if I had seen the like,
oh my god, I can't believe they made Seal a seal.

Speaker 3 (02:08):
Other observations, any commercial takeaways, let us know at eight
seven seven ninety nine on Fox.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
We'll get your feedback.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
I realized last night made me say, hmm, I guess
I'm gonna have to invest in some flare bottom jeans.
I guess they're coming back as of as of yesterday.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
Those bell bottoms were ugly on swing. The bell bottoms
like more of a flake bottom.

Speaker 6 (02:29):
I you know.

Speaker 3 (02:29):
Either way, I'm wondering, Wow, is this the comeback? Does
this mark the start of I wanted.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
To see his shoes. I wanted to see what shoes
he's wearing.

Speaker 3 (02:37):
Ok they look like he was wearing platform shoes like
cap we hear, okay, platform nikes.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
Yeah, you know what. I thought it was interesting too.

Speaker 3 (02:44):
I noticed these things a lot, and I immediately noticed it.
And I'm shocked at like half the people at my
house were like, oh yeah, I guess so you didn't
immediately notice the lower third graphic the score. It was
the most simple, very very basic.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
I hate it. You saw more of the field. It
was the most.

Speaker 3 (03:02):
Basic, simple Phi and Casey, no super much bold and
easy to follow, craft hest package like a high.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
School av package. Yeah, I noticed it, it said.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
I saw a funny tweet it said, who let Gronk
design graphics package?

Speaker 2 (03:19):
But you know, it.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
Seemed it seemed very simple and of course people were
talking about that.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
Oh speaking of Gronk, remember Tom Brady running out of
the batteries. Oh that was yeah, and she's like, oh boy,
Gronk again and she walks off to change his batteries.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
Dur Cell commercial.

Speaker 3 (03:34):
So again, any of your takeaways from the game from
last night, you know, let us know at eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox and if you can't call
at Covino and Rich it's your super Bowl edition of
things that made you go hmm. By the way, I'm
seeing the turning point of the Super Bowl. You know,
you think about when did it go from like, oh,
can Mahomes make a sweet come back? To you know,

(03:55):
this came stinks and it's over with a minute forty
left in the half, when Philly was up seventeen to nothing,
and you're like, all right, they got a minute forty something,
they get a field goal, that it's seventeen to three,
two score game, they get the ball, or even if
Mahome scores a touchdown, it's a ten point game. When
he threw his that when he threw that interception and
then Philly scored like a play later or so, when

(04:17):
I was twenty four to nothing that was it?

Speaker 2 (04:18):
That was the to me. That's when you're like, oh,
this is not happening.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
How about when Hopkins dropped that wide open pass and
he had all that green in front of him.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
Oh is that when Chris Jones like fell to his the.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
Yes, God, And I think all Chiefs fans must have
felt like that. Anyone who gambled on the Chiefs must
have felt like that. And their body language after that
it was like they were done.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
How about this?

Speaker 3 (04:40):
You know what made me say, hmmm, how Jalen Hurts
won in grand fashion because Sequon Barkley wasn't much of
an impact player during the game. What do you have
fifty something yards?

Speaker 2 (04:50):
Yeah, the two yards of carries.

Speaker 3 (04:53):
Yeah, So he wasn't much of a factor here, and
Jalen Hurts was able to step up, make some great
play and really dominate the game. So, you know, props
to him, and happy birthday to Saquon and the Jane
I got. I got two more quickie things that maybe
go and we'll get to your feedback. I just saw

(05:13):
the Gatorade dump again. I think it's a top five
Gatoray dump of all time. You know what they nailed it?
There was no, miss. It was like Sirianna got blasted.

Speaker 7 (05:23):
Headphones flew off his head, his hood came up over
his head and then kind of sat there and cool.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
Was good.

Speaker 8 (05:30):
It was.

Speaker 3 (05:30):
It was a very clear and they did a little
like maneuver to get there.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
That they did it early. Wasn't suspecting it.

Speaker 3 (05:38):
They did little right, They did a little sneak around
and then you saw it was Adre Brown, right, he
was part of that was the DeVante Smith. I'm forgetting
they did it. They did a little sneak around and
it was a good one. And the other observation was,
did you hear if you if you feel like you
need a little Monday a Monday cry? Did you hear

(06:00):
the voicemail the message that Saquon's daughter left him before
the game? Have you got kids, especially a daughter? You
might cry after you listen to this.

Speaker 9 (06:17):
Hi daddy, yay, thank you for your kay. Yeah, I
really really fairly hope you when and that Emil, I'm
really thankful that you've been caring.

Speaker 10 (06:35):
For your whole family.

Speaker 9 (06:37):
And I know you're gonna win, but if you don't,
that is okay. I'll always always love you. And if
you always love you, your family would always love you, and
your mother and father would aways love you. Our hope
family would always love you no matter what you do.
I love you so much, Sady for taking care of

(06:58):
me and ski beat Black Kid.

Speaker 1 (07:08):
What they had that drone behind, I thought that was
you playing organ underneath of it.

Speaker 3 (07:13):
Rich, I was Rich trying to play like sentimental music
in a house moment.

Speaker 10 (07:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (07:18):
The only thing that makes me want to cry about
that is the fact that it eventually turns into them
rolling their eyes at you. And they're teenagers, so yeah,
that makes me want to cry. But no, speaking of kids,
that was a sentimental moment, but you already mentioned Sirianni's
kid and Bradley Cooper's kid. I was impressed that they
knew how to spell eagles and yet their own mayor

(07:39):
did not spell eagles.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
So I thought that was kind of made me say hmm.

Speaker 1 (07:42):
For the first time ever in my life, I tried.
I attempted to watch a Super Bowl with a toddler
running around. Oh yeah, lord, sandhelp, yeah yeah. Leave them
in the kiddy room, keep them at the kiddie table.
Let's go to your feedback.

Speaker 3 (07:56):
Things that made you go, whether it's commercials, halftime the game.
Let's start with Ryan and Seattle.

Speaker 2 (08:01):
What's up? Ryan?

Speaker 8 (08:03):
Hey? I totally agree the Hopkins drop and the uh
not getting three points before a half time. But one
play that I haven't heard talked about yet. And I'm
not a Chiefs hater or a Kelsey hater, but I
think it was early third quarter. I thought it wasn't
over yet, and then Kelsey had that. It was about

(08:25):
third and fourteen. Kelsey got about ten yards and then
he didn't fight for the four more yards. Do you
guys remember that play?

Speaker 3 (08:32):
Yeah, it's a play where there are times where Kelsey
was like, somehow found a way, But yeah, it did.

Speaker 2 (08:37):
It wasn't their day, man, It's just again I said it.

Speaker 3 (08:40):
He came in with a really bald outfit. I don't
know if you saw that get Disco star. He looked
like he was, you know, in a seventies throwback sort
of shaft kind of mode.

Speaker 2 (08:50):
He had on some seventies gear. It looked like with
some cool shade. Looked like a Saturday Night Live skit.

Speaker 3 (08:55):
Yeah, when you roll in like that, you gotta play
big act. I didn't match the vibe, so it just
was more embarrassing. Take a look a lot of Tailor
Swift shots either. That made me saying NFL Network replaying
the game, now, take a look at the lower third.

Speaker 2 (09:11):
Is it clean or too elementary?

Speaker 3 (09:13):
Like when you look at it clean, it's not blocking
much of the game at all. And I think, you know,
sometimes the graphics get a bit you know, intrusive where
it's taken up like you know, a portion of the screen,
like really simple clean. I like it, no complaints for me.
What was the over under on shots to Taylor Swift? Well,
the under hit because I feel I was We saw
her just in the beginning. She got booed and that

(09:35):
was it.

Speaker 2 (09:36):
And what did they catch her saying? What is happening?

Speaker 11 (09:39):
Something like that, what's going on?

Speaker 2 (09:40):
What's going on?

Speaker 11 (09:43):
Yeah, well, yeah, they're booing you because you're dating the
chief And it.

Speaker 2 (09:47):
Was seventy five Eagles fans. Yeah, oh yeah, well we
knew that because of opening night. Yeah, we were there
all weekend, Danny.

Speaker 3 (09:54):
Danny pointed out, he goes, yo, look up everyone and
everyone in that Superdome, with the exception of a couple
Chiefs fan there was a lot of green.

Speaker 7 (10:03):
Yeah, and they were allowed to and you remember this
is the same fan base that you know decades ago
through snowballs at.

Speaker 2 (10:11):
Santa Claus'll never live that down. Huh. They're gonna boo
Taylor Swift. That's just that's totally part for them, no doubt.

Speaker 3 (10:18):
So here here's my question, based off of everything we
saw yesterday. We talked about the halftime show, we talked
about the commercial shows, we talked we covered it all
like everyone else has. Jalen hurts when you went into
this postseason storylines, Will Mahomes three, Pete Josh Allen, MVP

(10:39):
Hallie Steinfeld engaged. Is this his year that the Bill's
Mafia finally get one? Lamar Jackson having one of the
best runs of quarterback ever had was this year He's
gonna get over the hump the Lions fifteen and two?
Is Campbell take them all the way Minnesota with with
Sam Donald? Like the Eagles are like the sixth storyline,

(11:01):
and I think because.

Speaker 2 (11:02):
Of that, they were like under the radar so much
of the season.

Speaker 3 (11:06):
Saquon was a big storyline, was a big story. Yeah,
maybe it was just I feel like you knew they
were a solid team and there was not a lot
of drama around them. They were just consistently solid, and
then Jaden Daniels emerging. I really think that there was
a sense of the Eagles. For as big of a
market team they were, I think they were really sort
of under the radar. So now you got to ask

(11:26):
yourself when everyone talks about the greats and who's the
elite quarterbacks, that eye rolling conversation, who's elite? Guess who
doesn't have a Super Bowl Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, Justin Herbert,
Joe Burrow, Oh mind you, Jalen Hurts has been at
two of them. Yeah, so now you got what twenty six.
You gotta say to yourself, Well, where does Jalen Hurts

(11:47):
fit into the conversation? If he's been to two Super
Bowls and he won one, who's in the conversation If
he wasn't before, now he is, And he's got a
win where they don't and he beat what we were
calling the next goat, So major bragging rights for the guy.
If that's how you get in the conversation, if you're
judged on winning and losing. We had this conversation in
the beginning of the season. Remember we named all the

(12:07):
young quarterbacks in the league, and we're like, you think
they'll win one, and we're like, well, guess what we
just named like twenty young quarterbacks, maybe four of them
will win one. Mark Jalen Hurts down.

Speaker 1 (12:19):
I don't think anybody was in Unison saying that they
thought Hurts was going to win one. And now there
were topics on TV today is this the start of
a new dynasty in the NFL? Will the Eagles do
it again? And honestly, except and I got to give
our show props. We goof on ourselves all the time
when we're wrong, and that's often the case more than

(12:39):
being right. But all the way back to the weekend
prior when we were in Vegas for the Benavitas fight,
we were talking about Jalen Hurts and who has more
motivation and you guys were arguing about it a lot,
and that kicked off the week in New Orleans as well. Yeah,
because the storylines were Mahomes, mahomes, mahomes, Chiefs three Pete
and we talked about that Rich, remember, because you were saying, hey, man,

(13:02):
it's history, it's history. And Covino's argument was, well, the
Eagles are hungry, or remember Hurts sitting at his locker
room emotional saying I dropped the ball in that last
Super Bowl. I'm going to be back. I'm going to
have revenge. And we said that we thought the Eagles
had a lot to play for, especially Hurts.

Speaker 2 (13:19):
We were not hearing that.

Speaker 1 (13:21):
We weren't hearing the Jalen Hurts storyline as much as
I thought we.

Speaker 2 (13:24):
Would at all.

Speaker 1 (13:25):
And then every day suddenly this morning it's Jalen Hurts
as the headline. And of course he should because he's
the MVP. But how many of these media dudes pivoted
so quickly when they were slobbering all over Mahomes the
last couple of weeks.

Speaker 2 (13:38):
They absolutely were so right about that.

Speaker 3 (13:42):
Can we play a post NFL season round of do
you think they'll ever win?

Speaker 2 (13:49):
Because we got Jalen Hurts winning one? Manti.

Speaker 3 (13:52):
I want you know this, okay, because we did this
at the beginning of the season and everyone's like, oh yeah,
oh yeah. The answer was yes to too many, And
you got to remind yourself, dynasties happened.

Speaker 2 (14:01):
Guys win more than once.

Speaker 3 (14:03):
You know, there's been legends like Dan Marino that walked
away with zero, right, I mean, let's start and I'll
name some people.

Speaker 2 (14:11):
You tell me, will they ever in a super Bowl?
So ever? In ok career? Win?

Speaker 3 (14:16):
Because you saw I got like Philip Rivers right, like
whole season, whole career, Josh Allen.

Speaker 2 (14:23):
No, I've changed my stance on him. You think he'll
never win. Ever, they're the quintessential.

Speaker 3 (14:28):
Like really great, really good, never get their kind of team.

Speaker 2 (14:33):
Damn. You would think though, because he's so great, I
get it.

Speaker 11 (14:36):
I thought he was done and he changed my mind
to yes.

Speaker 1 (14:39):
Okay, I think he would have gave the the Eagles
a better game yesterday.

Speaker 2 (14:45):
I agree with you. I do think Alan's going to
get one super Bowl ring at some point. Yeah, yes,
Sam spot anyone, Yeah.

Speaker 7 (14:53):
Great, yeah, yeah, yeah, just because he's athletic enough and there.
But it's like when you're in the AFC and you
have to getting rid of the Chiefs just to get
to the super Bowl to then beat the NFC team.
That's actually harder to do than being the NFC team.
Just getting one shot against the Chiefs and then your
Super Bowl. But didn't we all think that this was
the year for them to do it and he didn't.

Speaker 2 (15:13):
But I hate to say it. I hate to say it.
I'm a Carino, how many of those opportunities? Yeah, great
window to do it.

Speaker 1 (15:20):
This we actually heard in the preseason, Oh the Bills
are taking a step back.

Speaker 2 (15:24):
Remember that was a narrative of that. Yeah, that was.
That was and they surprised a lot of people with
how great of a season they are.

Speaker 3 (15:30):
Yeah, I got one for you ready, Well, hold on,
let's keep this in mind. As he gets older, he's
going to have to adjust his game. He can't be
reckless like that forever forever either, so, but he could
he make those adjustments. Joe Burrow, Yes, I think because
they were there and he played well, I think they'll
get back. I think he's a guy that could carry

(15:51):
a team through the postseason if he's hot and he
has that team though.

Speaker 2 (15:56):
That's the thing the owners around him.

Speaker 11 (16:00):
And whether he can do it. He can do it,
but it's a team of sport.

Speaker 3 (16:04):
Right, Lamar Jackson, Yes, there will be a year he
gets over the hump.

Speaker 2 (16:09):
What do you think of Yes?

Speaker 3 (16:12):
I think so, man, Yes, if there, if there is
a god, yeah, he had he has to win, man,
he's too good to not win one. But they got
Derrick Henry. If they if they continue to build around
him and this team. Yeah, I think they could do it.
The funny part is we keep thinking of the same
big guys, right, but then as they get older, the
bow Nixes of the world.

Speaker 11 (16:33):
Theniel, but are you talking about AFC.

Speaker 2 (16:37):
Takes Strouds of the world. There's gonna be other guys
that star Levis's of the world.

Speaker 3 (16:41):
That's right, cute, you know, Sanders Drake, Yes, so.

Speaker 2 (16:47):
You never know. How about this one, Jordan's love in
Green Bay.

Speaker 7 (16:52):
I'm gonna say I'm just as a Packer fan, I'm
gonna say no, Wow, yeah.

Speaker 3 (16:56):
Good too early, So I'm saying no. If you're a fan,
you're supposed to say yes.

Speaker 7 (17:00):
But I'm being I look at him and I'm like
out of far of Rogers in love and I haven't
seen enough of him yet. Not a big sample size,
not a big enough sample size. I just feel like
it's not gonna happen.

Speaker 3 (17:11):
And not to name drop, but we talked to Drew
Brees about all these young quarterbacks on Radio Row.

Speaker 2 (17:15):
Drew Brees, my boy.

Speaker 3 (17:17):
We talked to him last week and he was just
going on and on about how much great talent there
is in the quarterback position. So you know it is
interesting to think about that not everybody's gonna win one.
Speaking of your boy, Drew Brees, he spoke highly of
Jaden Daniels.

Speaker 2 (17:33):
Was this year the oh my god.

Speaker 3 (17:35):
Shocking, like they surprised us, but back to like, you know,
good team, but well, Jaden Daniels and the Commanders win
a Super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (17:44):
Bro, He's so poised.

Speaker 11 (17:45):
He is so poised that I think he has a
real chance. I actually don't even see a sophomore slump
coming from him.

Speaker 2 (17:54):
But you know, you got to ask yourself.

Speaker 3 (17:56):
A guy, like a guy that's a quarterback in the
NFL usually has a a good tennish years, right, So
that means all these other people somehow you will you're
fitting in a Commander super Bowl win.

Speaker 2 (18:09):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (18:09):
And we spoke the same way about CJ. Shroud too,
so you got to throw him in the conversation.

Speaker 2 (18:13):
There's a lot of guys in the waiting line, right.

Speaker 11 (18:15):
A lot of.

Speaker 3 (18:17):
Compare it to the coniest thing you'll ever hear me say, So,
you ever watched The Bachelor and he's got like twenty
hot chicks, and it's like, yeah, some hot tricks just
go home and never get the rose. Some of these
quarterbacks name is analogy but so good at the same time. Yeah,
it's like some got yo in my hometown on The
Hottest Chick. Well, guess what, You're not getting a rose
on The Bachelor. I'm sorry, sorry, Jessica, it's so you know.

(18:41):
And by the way, a new episode tonight. Something to
help me get over this super Bowl blues. I haven't
started the season, so we're too intimidated. That's like eight
hours of catching up because too much Bachelor.

Speaker 1 (18:53):
Richie Davis, really quick, I got a name for you,
rock Prety. Yes, you think he's gonna win a suit?

Speaker 2 (18:59):
Like true fan. I didn't even think about.

Speaker 11 (19:02):
A true fan.

Speaker 3 (19:02):
By the way, we got a big scoop over this
past super Bowl week. We had the most random combo
of Seal, the singer, the artist, Seal and Deebo. Samuel
and Deebo spoke so highly and Seal the spokesman for
the same guy.

Speaker 2 (19:21):
I thought you were talking about Flex Seal.

Speaker 3 (19:22):
No, but I promise you ever see flex though not
Phil Swift, the inventor of Flex seals.

Speaker 2 (19:27):
Sam the singer Seal.

Speaker 3 (19:29):
We had him and Deebo Samuel on the show and
we saw firsthand and you heard firsthand that Diebo had
nothing but wonderful things to say about playing with Brock Purty.
So that's coming from a guy that's probably never gonna
play with him again. The fact that he says he
wants to trade, you know, from hearing this on Fox
Sports Radio, that had nothing to do with the quarterback

(19:50):
situation or what he thought of Brock, because he seemed
to really really admire him. He talked about his poise. Yeah,
talked about like he's the guy. Remember he even defended
him when you said they got lucky with him.

Speaker 1 (19:59):
He's you know, he was really yet talked about his
command in the huddle and how amazing of a leader
he is.

Speaker 3 (20:08):
Yeah, he went on and he was gushing basically over
block party. So the fact that he requested a trade
goes to show you that he doesn't like where the
team directions going and where the leadership is aside from
quarterback situations. So based on that, Rich, I think brock
perty is not in a good situation. Has it dawned
on anyone in this room that I may have thrown
the last pass to Deebo Samuel as the forty nine

(20:29):
er Threebo to debo goes down in history Tobo.

Speaker 2 (20:33):
To devot that was good?

Speaker 11 (20:35):
Did you write that ahead of time comedy?

Speaker 2 (20:39):
That was good?

Speaker 3 (20:41):
If you go to kevinon Rich on Instagram, I threw
him a pass for good. I saw yeah, and I
dawned on me like, oh my god, he might not
even been on the team.

Speaker 2 (20:49):
Did I throw the last tuddy? Oh well? Well again?

Speaker 3 (20:54):
To answer your question Brock Party, though, to me, it
just shows that something's not stirring the kool aid, or
something's not right.

Speaker 2 (21:02):
In San Francisco? Is it your head coach ri Right?

Speaker 1 (21:04):
Like, why would you want your general manager who's rubbing
Deebo the wrong way?

Speaker 2 (21:07):
I think you know.

Speaker 3 (21:08):
Listen for every Greade organization, right, there's someone unhappy you
could talk about, Like Fox Sports Radio. I really do
feel like we have great leadership, but it's gonna be
I'm sure there's one or two hosts.

Speaker 2 (21:17):
Or are like unhappy.

Speaker 3 (21:18):
No matter what, you're not gonna have fifty three guys unhappy.
Just sucks that one of those unhappy are your stars.
Let me give you two more names than we'll take
your feedback stars Stars Dash dar Prescott, well Jack Prescott, everyone.

Speaker 2 (21:33):
Super Bowl No think so not as long as Gara
who's alive. That's true.

Speaker 3 (21:39):
And by the way, I would never root against any
of these people. These are all great stories if they
were to win. But no, I don't think so. Add
curtains to the stadium. Only if they have curtains, that's
good to the Stdamn.

Speaker 2 (21:51):
Sh keeps skinning in my eyes. Yeah, no, they I'm
a monkey fay Be Rich, Caleb Williams.

Speaker 4 (22:04):
Uh shut up about the sun?

Speaker 2 (22:08):
Too soon to.

Speaker 3 (22:09):
Tell with Caleb, Yeah, you can't make that assessment yet.

Speaker 2 (22:13):
I didn't. How about uh, he said c J. Stroud.
Let me see Kyler Murray. We say no way, but yeah, no,
I haven't felt I don't think so.

Speaker 3 (22:23):
No, But then again, you didn't think the Eagles would
be back so soon.

Speaker 2 (22:29):
Are some of these.

Speaker 4 (22:30):
Younger names going to be given enough time to grow
or are they going to be in and out like most.

Speaker 2 (22:34):
How about the quarterback of Monzie's team, Justin Herbert?

Speaker 11 (22:38):
Justin Herbert?

Speaker 2 (22:39):
How do you beat him out?

Speaker 11 (22:41):
I want to say yes, I think with the coach,
I see we have a back to Rich's analogy.

Speaker 3 (22:47):
Not everybody gets That's what's crazy. I thought it was like, yeah,
most of these quarterbacks will retire with that one.

Speaker 2 (22:55):
And wow, just such talent.

Speaker 3 (22:57):
Justin Herbert, he gets a hometown date, but it's after
that he's going home.

Speaker 2 (23:02):
He gets a hometown days.

Speaker 3 (23:04):
He'll pick the playoffs, he'll go in some runs, but yo,
he's uh, he's not going to.

Speaker 11 (23:08):
The fantasy waiting to show you that he goes to
the fantasy suites.

Speaker 2 (23:11):
He's not doing that.

Speaker 3 (23:11):
Say, you know, based on that conbo man, it really
does put Jalen Hurts in perspective because he's got something
that none of those dudes have. Major and he beat
Mahomes to do it, so major props to him.

Speaker 7 (23:23):
Got bad news too for all these other quarterbacks waiting
in line. Guess who's won five at the last last
eight Super Bowls? The Eagles and the Chiefs. So it's
like there's such a little room to get in there.

Speaker 3 (23:35):
Yeah, and you know what Burrow Allan, Lamar, Love Purty,
Dak Jayden, Daniel c J. Strad, Kyler Murray and then
I'm not even naming like the you know, like the
Caleb Williams of the world and Justin Herbert and Trevor Lawrence.
Did we just say he's done on it? Can we
assume that that's just a done story. Yes, none on
that team.

Speaker 2 (23:54):
Yeah yeah, so we shall see. It's time to play
Last one Standing.

Speaker 7 (24:03):
You have five seconds to battle for your sports trivia.

Speaker 12 (24:06):
Love dam.

Speaker 3 (24:14):
Put your electronic devices down and pick your sports knowledge.

Speaker 2 (24:18):
It's CNRS Last one standing, Last one standing.

Speaker 1 (24:23):
All right, boys, have four categories ready to go if
needed a tiebreaker. Each contestant gets five seconds to stay alive.

Speaker 2 (24:30):
In the round.

Speaker 1 (24:31):
If you run out of time or you answer incorrectly,
Iowa Sam will scort you out with his big bad buzzer.
We keep battling until you are the last one standing.
If you win two of the rounds, you're the top dog.
Here are the contestants. Five time winner Steve Covinoudy he
actually won La to.

Speaker 2 (24:50):
The right of him.

Speaker 1 (24:51):
Eight time winner Rich Davis's analogy sucker, He's got a
weird head, the leader in the clubhouse. Twenty three time
winner Dan Byer. Love that, And we're gonna go to
the studio lines right now to see who's playing for
a CNR stainle the Steel Swiggy.

Speaker 2 (25:06):
It is Cameron in Fort Wayne, Indiana. It's up, Bud,
Hey buddy.

Speaker 13 (25:11):
Hey Cam, really quick.

Speaker 2 (25:13):
What do you do for a living?

Speaker 13 (25:14):
There, so I actually spurning up.

Speaker 2 (25:20):
His own business in Fort Wayne. All right, and by
the way, Spot, does he manufacture excitement.

Speaker 1 (25:25):
At least hopefully we can hear I know we've got
to hear his answers in this game. Spot is the
fact checker. I hate it when I say your name.
The clock is going to begin. Here is the first category.
I'm going to two parades. You have five seconds to
name an NFL player who was named Super Bowl MVP
in the past twenty years. All right, super Bowl MVP

(25:45):
in the past twenty years. Covino, You're gonna be up
first as soon as the clock goes now.

Speaker 2 (25:50):
Jalen Hurts, Oh, come on, I gotta go there. How's it?
Give me? All right? Rich cheap? Thomas Brady never heard
of a good but go buyer.

Speaker 1 (26:03):
Patrick Mahomes never heard of a good one go Cameron
Peyton Manning good back back to coven uh Eli Manning,
Eli Manning on the list, Fire Drew Brees, Brees on
the list, Cameron, what about me?

Speaker 2 (26:20):
I'm sorry, Rich Rich.

Speaker 3 (26:20):
I'm sorry, big Ben Roethlisberger, Big Ben Roethersberger not on
the list in the last years.

Speaker 2 (26:29):
Oh, sorry about that. I guess we skipped you for
a reason. A rich Fire Drew Brees, Yeah, who said that?

Speaker 14 (26:38):
Know what happened is I think they went Coveno to
me and I said breeze and then they went.

Speaker 1 (26:41):
Our bad our bed. So it should be the caller's turn, Cameron.

Speaker 8 (26:49):
Russell Wilson, So I gotta got no.

Speaker 1 (26:53):
Yeah, okay, Now buyer Malcolm Smith correct good pull Covino
three two one. Buyer is the last one standing in
that round?

Speaker 14 (27:13):
Wow?

Speaker 2 (27:13):
Was Peace Mode of Super Bowl MVP?

Speaker 8 (27:15):
No no, no.

Speaker 3 (27:17):
Rogers Aaron Rodgers, Cooper cup San Antonio Holmes, Antonio Holmes eight.

Speaker 2 (27:22):
Uh, Julian Edelman, Edelman was on there. Flacco, Heinz Ward Rogers,
Von Miller. That's right, all right.

Speaker 3 (27:32):
Second category money man, I does get. It's a category
that's tricky because I could you know, even if you
could know every single winner, loser score where it.

Speaker 1 (27:40):
Was, You're so yeah, you're so good with Super Bowls
and the scores. And he's an MVPs. But the von
Miller one that got that one?

Speaker 2 (27:48):
All right?

Speaker 1 (27:48):
Second buyer's on the board. Second category, now blank checks.
You have five seconds to name an MLB team who
is top fifteen and free agency money spent so far
in twenty twenty five. All right, Cameron, you're gonna be.

Speaker 2 (28:02):
A first go Dodgers. Dodgers on the list.

Speaker 1 (28:06):
Yeah, number two on that list, right, yes, Matt Buyer,
mats me's on the list, number one, number one or
what do you think?

Speaker 2 (28:14):
Right into Rich that's his favorite. Let's go to the
lost Yankees.

Speaker 3 (28:18):
Lost Yankees on the list. Coveno, Yes, top fifteen Giants.

Speaker 1 (28:26):
Giants on the list.

Speaker 2 (28:28):
Back to Cameron, uh Tampa raise raised, No, none of the.

Speaker 1 (28:35):
Less, sorry, Cam, Buyer, Diamondbacks. Diamondbacks are on the list.

Speaker 2 (28:41):
Rich this year. It's money spent this year off the Geese,
Red Sox.

Speaker 4 (28:51):
Red Sox nonethless just yeah, sorry, sorry about that. Cove
Blue Jays, Blue Jays on the list. Buyer Tigers, Tigers.

Speaker 2 (29:05):
Are on the list. Good one, Padres, Padres, none of
the less.

Speaker 3 (29:13):
Just like that.

Speaker 2 (29:14):
By why the Braves are feelings? The Braves were on
the list, they signed though this is such a Braves
spent They were on the They spent ninety six million
in the off season. You know, you know, some of
it is the eyes of contracts, to which not just
the amount of players. The Angel's astros.

Speaker 3 (29:34):
I'm not saying it's I'm not saying it's a bunk category,
but it's such a tricky one because like game no.
But what I'm saying is like meaning not meaningless signings,
but like if they re signed five middle infielders and relievers,
that adds up, So it's really matter what teams contracts
are all up. I'm at note the Dodgers got Kershaw
coming back. Huh yeah, why.

Speaker 2 (29:54):
One year deal? He's a clubhouse guy at this point
and one of their leaders. I know that Hayden on
the guy, but is he getna pitch or what?

Speaker 3 (30:04):
We'll see how healthy he is when they have a
nine man rotation and they went one hundred and thirty games.

Speaker 2 (30:10):
Actually he's kind of cool, but you surprised. Yeah, he
could fill some innings. Rich is right.

Speaker 3 (30:14):
Can I tell you what I feel about the Kershaw thing.
It's very much like you know, Peyton Manning gave so
much the football and then he won a Super Bowl
where he had no business really winning like that, he
was done and the defense carried him.

Speaker 2 (30:26):
You know, Clinton Kershew deserves to be carried. Oh man,
I'm not distant on the guy at all.

Speaker 3 (30:30):
I'm just surprised he's sticking it out one more year
because he barely hung on last year.

Speaker 1 (30:34):
I thought that's good for him. Yeah, him is right, Cameron,
thank you for playing the game there in Fort Wayne.

Speaker 2 (30:39):
Thank you, buddy. That was my weakest showing. I did
not like that. Byer just slaps us around like we're
a little baby boys. I only thought four people signed
this offseason. To be honest with you, it's gone so
under the radar.

Speaker 3 (30:54):
I'm being serious. I was like, who even signed Soto?
The Yankees had some big signings the Dodgers. Then I
was like, you said, Padres, that was wrong too, Yeah,
it's wrong. I thought, maybe you know cricking money.

Speaker 2 (31:06):
All right, let's go to Dan Buyer for an updated
b what'st man? You guys mentioned the Clinton Kershaw deal.

Speaker 15 (31:12):
He's gonna be thirty seven next month, but this will
be season eighteen for him in a Dodgers' uniform. Signing
a deal that's crazy. He feels like an old thirty right. Yeah, yeah,
it started when he was twenty thirty seven. The Dodgers
just gonna make it official once he passes his physical.
His former teammate with the Dodgers Kenny Jansen has found work.

(31:35):
Thirty one year old Relievers signed a one year deal
worth ten million dollars with the Angels.

Speaker 2 (31:41):
The GM's getting death threats, kill Nico. Like, it's terrible.

Speaker 3 (31:46):
I feel about even saying that, Like I feel like
it's wrong, like I'm I'm perpetuating it or something. I'm not.
We're just telling you the story. It's horrible, Like get
a grip, Aerosmith style, Get a grip.

Speaker 2 (31:59):
I get it.

Speaker 3 (32:00):
Losing your franchise player sucks, but I think this one
stung a lot. Let me compare it to a breakup,
because we're good at that. Rich I've lost a lot
of relationships, but you know which one's destroyed me the most,
Like destroyed my soul. I'm serious. Where I didn't see
it coming. Oh yeah, right, Like sometimes you're thinking things
are great. She's obsessed with me, she loves me, she'd

(32:23):
never leave me, she's the best girlfriend ever. All of
a sudden she's dating some other professional athlete, not to
be oddly specific, And you didn't see it coming, and
you're just destroyed because your ego thought you were the
greatest thing going. You thought she'd never leave you, and
she left you like overnight out of nowhere, and you're like,

(32:44):
what that kills me?

Speaker 2 (32:46):
This is oddly specific, I know, but that's how it
was for Dallas. You coming. You mean when like your
longtime girlfriend you love ends up with a New York ranger.

Speaker 3 (32:54):
I mean, like you know, but dude, that's what hurts
the most, right, Like when you don't see it coming,
when you have no idea what you were prepared for that,
And that's how the fans are and that's why they're
reacting this way.

Speaker 2 (33:05):
There was no whispers, no murder. No one thought this
was this is a gripping off the band aid, right.

Speaker 1 (33:10):
He was like, what you're like, no way, That's why
everybody thought Sean's got packed.

Speaker 3 (33:15):
Right, So based on that and all the crying we're seeing, Yeah,
Crossfire baby come back? Who left you feeling super sad
when they left your franchise?

Speaker 2 (33:25):
What's up? Player?

Speaker 3 (33:26):
All right, let's go to Derek and Alabama. Derek, who
comes to mind the coach player who left your team
and it left the fans in tears?

Speaker 2 (33:34):
What's up? Derek?

Speaker 10 (33:36):
Hey, guys, oh gosh, that song that's perfect for mine.
But give me two, give me two one. It's just
oh gosh, man, when I had two calls at three
point thirty in the morning, Derek Jordan's retiring. Oh my gosh,
I just I can't tell you all, guys.

Speaker 2 (33:54):
Yeah, oh it was.

Speaker 10 (33:55):
Horrible, horrible, And then you know, in ninety eight, what's
his hand on own? We're letting them, you know, team
fall apart?

Speaker 5 (34:00):
Are you kidding me?

Speaker 10 (34:02):
One three in a row?

Speaker 8 (34:03):
That was.

Speaker 10 (34:03):
But yeah, anyway, being the biggest anti Lakers fan in
our country, when Shack got traded back in what was
it ninety seven, ninety eight or whatever, I just here,
I've gone a decade title free from the Lakers, and
I was like, oh my gosh, hey, Derek, you're.

Speaker 2 (34:20):
Not very rapid fire, but I love the call. Yeah,
great call.

Speaker 3 (34:23):
Call another time when we have more times, David and
Seattle rapid fire go.

Speaker 12 (34:29):
Uh five ten and three quarters buck fifty eight. I'm sorry,
I thought this was dam Patrick Alx Rodrigo.

Speaker 2 (34:37):
Yeah, from U left for the Bag? Yeah, from Seattle,
bag of Bag. Yeah, no doubt.

Speaker 3 (34:43):
I can imagine a Mariner's fam being bummed about that one.
Nate the Great in Las Vegas, what's up?

Speaker 2 (34:47):
Nate?

Speaker 10 (34:48):
Hey, what's up?

Speaker 6 (34:51):
I think?

Speaker 13 (34:51):
Okay, see was a pretty salty one during it.

Speaker 3 (34:54):
That's a good one. That's a good one because he
was your guy. Yeah, Derek in Washington State.

Speaker 2 (35:00):
What's too soon, bro? What's up? Derek?

Speaker 5 (35:03):
There's there's not a lot of love in Carolina, Carolina Panthers,
but the joy.

Speaker 13 (35:09):
When Christian McCaffrey left, just all joy in the building
just vanished, evaporated.

Speaker 6 (35:15):
We had nothing left.

Speaker 3 (35:16):
Yeah, you know what, I I reaped the benefits as
a Niners fan, and speaking of the Niners, it was expected.
But when the Niners finally moved off of Joe Montana
in lieu of Steve Young, most of the fan base
were Montana guys. Like it took everyone a minute to
warm up to Steve Young. You're like, who, whoa you
moving up with Montana? He's healthy?

Speaker 1 (35:35):
That was big in My favorite Raider Marcus Allen left
to the Chiefs, just like how Montana went to the Chiefs.

Speaker 2 (35:41):
Yikes. Curtis and Shytown wrapped us up.

Speaker 13 (35:44):
Hey a lot, guys, I love my DAEs, Danny Spot,
I was Sam Rich, make.

Speaker 2 (35:51):
It stappy, you got ten seconds?

Speaker 13 (35:54):
I got Rizzo from Chicago.

Speaker 2 (35:56):
Oh good one.

Speaker 3 (35:57):
You know I have a buddy whose dog's name is Rizzio.
He was love the big Cubs fan.

Speaker 2 (36:01):
He wouldn't they didn't want to pay them.

Speaker 3 (36:03):
I know, it's better be good if you forget to
make a reservation for Friday that in times day, just
go to the restaurant that you want and be like,
oh yeah, cannot party of two, sir, We don't have
you here. What do you mean if you don't think
I made a reservation? And they might be like, oh
my god, I'm so sorry right this way, sir.

Speaker 11 (36:22):
Yeah, because nobody's doing that.

Speaker 2 (36:24):
That's your like wild trick.

Speaker 11 (36:25):
Everyone's doing that.

Speaker 2 (36:26):
Rich You're a frore gonna take you.

Speaker 11 (36:28):
They're not gonna take your word for them. They be like,
cirking out of my face.

Speaker 2 (36:31):
You don't think I've had a reservation?

Speaker 11 (36:33):
Cir get out of my face.

Speaker 2 (36:34):
That's ridiculous. That was your dirt bag tip.

Speaker 4 (36:36):
I mean, here's what you do. You go on like
a rezie or an open table. You make a reservation
for like, let's say a month in advance, and then
you photoshop the date so it looks like you made
it for February fourteenth. Then you show it to them
and be like, I have this confirmation see.

Speaker 11 (36:50):
Damn, that's good.

Speaker 2 (36:52):
You think that's good show, but you make us think
you have to you have to show old timer. See
why would they want to argue my table? You wouldn't
want to argue with an old time or like they
don't want to argue Dick Tracy exactly. Yeah, a reservation.

Speaker 1 (37:12):
Yeah, don't be a sucker and go out to a
restaurant that night. It's I agree, but but.

Speaker 3 (37:19):
Then again, reminder, there are some people, and I'm not
saying they're a pain in the y as, but there
are some women and men that need to do things
on to day. One of our best friends, uh, one
of our friends, Shannon, my my wife's best friend, Shannon
is one of those, like, it's my birthday, dinner tonight.
We're like, it's Tuesday or Wednesday?

Speaker 2 (37:37):
Can't we go Friday?

Speaker 3 (37:38):
And she's like, but today's my day? Like some people
want to do it on the day. Feel like your
exes like that.

Speaker 1 (37:43):
Well, that's why Valentine's Day is made up. Anyways, Jesus
wasn't born on that day.

Speaker 3 (37:48):
Carino's ex wife wanted him to skip Spot's wedding because
it was on like someday.

Speaker 2 (37:51):
Wasn't it it was on her birthdays. Nice keeper, looking back,
I maybe should have.

Speaker 3 (37:56):
I don't know any weak just kidding spot spots on
the videos at Coino and Rich Danny G super producing,
What up?

Speaker 2 (38:03):
Danny G?

Speaker 8 (38:04):
What up?

Speaker 2 (38:05):
Man?

Speaker 3 (38:05):
He got that Barry White voice ready for Valentine's Day? Yeah,
you gotta sing some power ballants up.

Speaker 2 (38:11):
Brought some mall loco home.

Speaker 3 (38:12):
He's gonna be like sing some boys to men. The
love I have run next to me is here, Rendo,
ways will be you be seeing some boys to.

Speaker 2 (38:24):
Never let go hold you in my arms for risk
getting ready.

Speaker 3 (38:31):
So Danny G and his buttery voice is on stand
By ninety nine on Fox IOA, Samuel, What up?

Speaker 2 (38:37):
Iowa? Sam He's on the ones and two, which Rich
I believe I met Shannon at your party. Yeah, good lady.

Speaker 3 (38:43):
A lot of the guys were asking I met all
three of them. Yeah, Shannon and her friends and MONSI
is here. We're gonna get to one of your Yankees Cano.
How is Devin Williams gonna change baseball forever? Well, today's
a special day, not only two days away from Valentine's Papa,

(39:03):
but it's pitchers and catchers reporting.

Speaker 10 (39:06):
Man.

Speaker 2 (39:06):
I thought that was Friday. Yeah, no catchers. Pitchers and
catchers are reporting, So we're getting.

Speaker 3 (39:14):
Closer and closer to baseball now, which always helps the
post Super Bowl blues.

Speaker 2 (39:19):
So I'm excited about NBA Laker updates.

Speaker 3 (39:22):
We're going to talk about Robbie Cano, but I got
to give us a quick update on a really fun
conversation we had yesterday. We were talking about Aaron Rodgers
and we spent a good amount of time having a
really funny yet informative conversation. Well, we went over every team. Really,
where could he possibly end up if he doesn't retire.

(39:45):
It really was a team by team breakdown of well,
he can't go there next, can't go there next? All right,
that's a possibility. Dan Bayer was weighing in, Danny g
We all had our thoughts and we said twenty seven giants.
There was a few possible raiders. There was like five
or six teams. We narrowed it down that twenty six teams.

(40:05):
It's just impossibly. It was talking to my dad on
the way in, Oh, I haven't talked to you super
Bowl week? Sounded great.

Speaker 2 (40:12):
Caught up with my dad. Oh, hi, Rich is your father?

Speaker 3 (40:15):
And by the way, every voicemail he leaves me starts
with high Rich, it's your father, high Rich is your father.
I know, I know what you dad, And he said
that was a great conversation, and we talked about it
even more, and by talking it out even more with Dad,
it's like, you know what, I see it going totally different.

Speaker 2 (40:36):
I go, what do you mean?

Speaker 3 (40:37):
He goes, Oh, Aaron Rodgers is such a peculiar yet
intriguing dude that in the world that all you guys
living today can't this guy team up with someone and
just do a podcast to make a ton of money.

Speaker 2 (40:50):
And then.

Speaker 3 (40:52):
The season starts and inevitably, unfortunately, there will be a
top tier quarterback that goes down.

Speaker 2 (41:01):
Happens all the time, unfortunately.

Speaker 3 (41:03):
Yeah, and Danny g you ever thought yesterday, We never
even thought about the idea of that team doesn't exist
yet because it could be a top tier team that
loses QB one and all of a sudden, Aaron Rodgers
is the answer to come in and save the team.

Speaker 2 (41:17):
Yeah, we didn't go over that.

Speaker 3 (41:19):
That was like the one blind spot we had in
that conversation, Like there could be any top tier team
the forty nine ers, you know, the Eagles, the Bucks.
There could be any team that's a good NFC team
or AFC team where QB one goes down and the
quick fix is, man, we have so much talent, we
can't just throw the season away. Aaron Rodgers. And I

(41:43):
think that's the answer, because I don't think there's a
very clear one. So since there's no clear fit, we're
trying to put a square peg in a round hole.
Why not just say he doesn't play and then the
minute unfortunately, someone will get hurt. That's where Aaron Rodgers
steps in be a great possibility and a great solution.
But would he be mentally and physically ready and prepared

(42:07):
to jump right back into the NFL after in shape?

Speaker 2 (42:10):
Yeah? I mean you would have to hope and assume he's.

Speaker 1 (42:13):
Got a big ego so to sit around and be like,
oh my wait, I don't know if he's that kind
of guy rich, But he.

Speaker 3 (42:19):
Would also love to be the guy that comes in
and saves the day. That part is true to what
goes down unfortunately. Knock on wood, Mike McDaniel, Yo, Aaron
Rodgers one, he goes down to South Beach, saves the day.

Speaker 2 (42:34):
There is a he hero Joe Burrow, you know, high
ankle sprain out for eight weeks. There go my hero.
Aaron Rodgers comes running in justin Herbert oh Man, rotator cuff.
He can be a hero. Baby. We're off to find

(42:54):
the hero the day Aaron Rodgers. It could be anywhere.
And yet we can't get this guy to do karaoke
at listener events. No, no, only when I want yeah yeah,
when he comes out organically.

Speaker 3 (43:06):
Yeah, when you put pressure on me, I don't want
to sing. We need to be some Metallica. Oh yeah,
let's do it, me and you sam Ooh yeah, yeah,
well you mean next year's halftime performers. Let's hope because
it's in San Francisco. You know what, rich I think
that is a strong possibility. But only if he's like

(43:27):
mentally prepared in that way. I'm not saying that he
falls off, but what if he really makes a solid
mental decision that he's done. Sometimes when people make that decision,
it's hard to come back from it. Then again, there's
so many pro athletes and one of the fighting and
football where they get that itch, you know, they say.

Speaker 2 (43:44):
They're done, but they want to play again.

Speaker 3 (43:45):
I know he is, you know one of one, the
guy you know went to ten Super Bowls, one to
seven of them. There's a part of me that thinks
Tom Brady can step on the field tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (43:57):
But then again, he's.

Speaker 3 (43:58):
Conditioned TB twelve, that's his You know, he looks better
now than he did coming out of the combine twenty
five years ago. But you don't look at Tom Brady
and say, yo, if he wanted to at what forty
six next year? You don't think Tom Brady, if he
wanted to, could be the quarterback of your Raiders.

Speaker 1 (44:13):
Danny j oh Just this past postseason, there's the video
of him throwing the nice tight spirals to Gront pregame,
and the internet blew up, like, see, this guy could
join a team right now. He could suit up for
the Raiders if maybe he signs his ownership shares to
his son.

Speaker 3 (44:29):
Did you happen to see that clip of Colin? When
Tom Brady was on the Herd, tom Brady talked about
how when you hit a certain age, your football knowledge,
like Tom Brady' football IQ is unmatched. He said that
Super Bowl, he went into it against the Chiefs, he
knew what every defenders like, little ticks and movements, were

(44:54):
he knew by looking at a linebacker, are they gonna
come at me? Or are they going to drop back?
Because he he studied so much film, like when their
arms move, like I could tell that you know they're
not gonna rush me. Tom Brady so studied and so
disciplined that I think, just based on his football IQ
and the fact that he stays in shape, could still
be a quarterback. So if you don't think Aaron Rodgers

(45:16):
could take a six month little break come back mid
season if a team needs him, no doubt. Yeah, Tom
Brady was still playing well in his last season. Aaron
Rodgers hasn't played well in two years now.

Speaker 2 (45:26):
Yeah, but he turned it on towards the very end.
He sucked.

Speaker 3 (45:30):
Aaron Rodgers also did come back in like record time.
He didn't come back as they didn't need him, but
he was on pace to come back in record time
from an achilles injury. So it's not like he's a
old man winter. It's not like he's Bartolo Cologne trying
to get back on the mountain, Okay, but his focus
is in a cave somewhere on a darkness retreat, playing
the bongos. Tom Brady's focus was on football. There's a

(45:53):
big difference there. Where's your mind at, where's your head at?
As the basement Jack said. And by the way, since
you brought it up, if you think Tom Brady could
get back out there, and if you think in this
hypothetical Aaron Rodgers would just step out of the podcasting
booth to jump right back into football, this brings up
the Robinson Cano story today. Yeah, Robin Cano thinks he

(46:13):
could very well just hop right back on an MLB team.
And I'll tell you this, every sport's different, right, I
don't know if I buy into that, man, every sport
is different. Of course, that's a very blanket statement.

Speaker 2 (46:25):
Let me explain.

Speaker 3 (46:27):
The downward curve at the end of someone's career is
steeper in all sports. Like you fall off that cliff
at different heights in different sports, like the NBA you
go from averaging twenty six to twenty two to eighteen,
and you know, production goes down. You're a little slower football,
you know, wide receiver gets a little slower nine hundred

(46:48):
yards instead of twelve hundred. I feel like in baseball,
some of these sluggers, it's just over. I don't know
what happens. You go from hitting thirty forty bombs, hitting
two sixty two seventy, and then all of a sudden,
it's like eighteen home runs batt in two.

Speaker 2 (47:02):
Oh one in baseball, it happens quick.

Speaker 3 (47:05):
And Robbie Cano, you saw him go from a guy
that was batting three hundred something with a lot of
home runs but knocktting it a ton of Ribby's. He
still ended his major league career seventeen year major league
career batting three to ozho one, so he's still over
three hundred.

Speaker 2 (47:19):
Great hitter.

Speaker 3 (47:20):
He was so slick and so good in his prime
at second base that he got a lot of criticism
for being lazy because he looked slazy. He looked like
he was playing lazy because he played so smooth and
so effortless. Give me a year like a prime year
for Robbie Cano as a Yankee or a Mariner. Give
me like just a home run RBI average stat line

(47:40):
like in like a Robbie Cano All Star year. I'm
gonna have to look it up because I was looking
up his Mexico stats. You are in Mexico Reference dot com.
I was on Mexico Reference dot com. That's where he
played last, and that's why people think that he still
got some juice. If you don't know, he played in
the Mexican League, and before that, he think he played

(48:02):
on the SpongeBob SquarePants team.

Speaker 2 (48:04):
And I'm not even making that UPO wait to go Canoe.

Speaker 3 (48:10):
The point I was gonna make was, but he he
lit it up in the Mexican League, batting like four
sixty something or four thirty something, and he was hitting
bombs and he was on his major streak. So people
were like, he's still got some juice. But Robbie Cano, Yeah,
his best years were with the Yankees, for sure.

Speaker 2 (48:26):
I got it right here. It took you too long.
Here we got it. Wasn't long.

Speaker 3 (48:29):
I was telling you about the Mexican League. Robbie Cano
a great example of a typical canoe year. Let's say
twenty thirteen with the Yankees, his last year before he
decided to go to Seattle, before he.

Speaker 2 (48:41):
Went for the bag and ruined his career.

Speaker 3 (48:44):
Forty one home runs, I'm sorry, no, twenty nine hole,
hold on, here we go one second, I'm sorry, twenty
seven home runs, one hundred and seven Ribi's that of
three fourteen the year before that, thirty three home runs,
ninety four RBI three thirteen.

Speaker 2 (49:01):
And then you go from that to like you already referenced.
I was gonna say, you're.

Speaker 3 (49:06):
Playing on a minor league team on SpongeBob SquarePants Night
and there's like, you know, six hundred people in the
stands and you're and.

Speaker 2 (49:13):
They're like, yeah, that used to be Robbie Cano like.

Speaker 3 (49:17):
To quote, uh, you know one of my favorite movies
that you've never seen because you're too cool. Angels in
the outfield, your boy Tony Danza, remember the kid goes
you used to be Mel Clark and a kid I
used to be. I'm still Mel Clark ale. Oh wait,
he plays the aging pitcher and I'm still Mel Clark.
Oh great cast. I mean, how is it not Danny Glover,

(49:38):
Christopher Lloyd, Tony Danza. Cano's too cool for that, As
he would say, what would the when did that come out?

Speaker 2 (49:43):
The nineties? I was too busy getting ass.

Speaker 7 (49:45):
I mean, it's true what Matthew McConaughey. Matthew McConaughey's in it.
McConaughey plays center field. Now he gets lifted up and
catches a ball. Mon So you know what else he
hasn't seen Mighty Ducks. You know what, because I was
too busy out chasing ass.

Speaker 11 (49:58):
Okay, I get that you were chasing ass. Then you're
not doing nothing now, so you can watch them now,
I am. You already got the ass to stop.

Speaker 7 (50:05):
You could have taken all these girls on a date
to your home to watch his movies, I know, and
then gotten what you want.

Speaker 11 (50:09):
You can watch them now.

Speaker 2 (50:11):
I watched them now with your daughter, Yeah, to watch
sports now she's scrolling on social media. Mighty Ducks is
so far classic.

Speaker 3 (50:19):
I mean, he's I made a Gordon Bob Bay reference
recently and he's like, I don't know what you're talking about.

Speaker 2 (50:24):
Break up with him.

Speaker 3 (50:25):
But much like Mel Clark I used to be I
used to be Mel Clark, Robbie Cano, he used to
be Robbie Can. He also used to be on steroids.
And he also used to make bad decisions for leaving
the Yankees.

Speaker 1 (50:35):
What if some of his bombs in Mexico came off
with Trevor Bauer that changed her mind?

Speaker 3 (50:39):
Oh that would be good because they ever know they
never fail, because is better than according to Bower, Yeah,
so based on this though, because there's a common thread
going on. Could Aaron Rodgers say, yeah, I'm gonna continue
as a broadcaster and host of Sports Jeopardy all of

(51:00):
a sudden come back in the league if someone gets hurt?

Speaker 2 (51:03):
Can Tom Brady still play? Can Canoe still play?

Speaker 3 (51:05):
Because Canoe said that today it's pitchers and catchers, everyone's
talking baseball. Canoe says that he could still play at
a high level. He could play major League baseball. What
are or are there other athletes that come to mind
realistically where you think I bet they could still play.
Dwight Dwight Howard comes to mind because the Lakers needed

(51:26):
a big man right and he's always chirping like yo.
Terrell Owens was always in the conversation because he kept
his body fit.

Speaker 2 (51:32):
But now a lot of.

Speaker 3 (51:33):
Time has passed. I'm glad you said the Begause the
Kaepernick stuff. For years, te O was the guy where
I was was the answer. I remember thinking, like, man,
is he that much of a pain the ass that
no one wants to take a chance on him? Because
remember he would show his own combine videos and he
was ripped and he'd sleep in you know, the the
chamber where he would reverses aging, and I thought t
O is the answer. Oddly enough, I made fun of

(51:55):
him moments ago, but I really think.

Speaker 2 (52:00):
Pun intended. I think Bartolo colomb could still eat innings.

Speaker 3 (52:04):
I maybe not now, but a couple of years ago.
Bartolo Cologne is just a guy. Well he now threw
one hundred. I wouldn't downplay it because he had that
that rubbery arm, and he's a crafty pitcher. You know,
he probably still has some heat because he's got a
lot of weight behind it, So I wouldn't I wouldn't
say no to that.

Speaker 2 (52:25):
How old is he?

Speaker 3 (52:25):
I mean, now spot age check me on Bartolo Colomne.
I know it's also your favorite fragrance.

Speaker 16 (52:32):
Bartolo Cologne cologne by Bartolo fifty one rich.

Speaker 3 (52:36):
I mean, obviously he can't do it now, but I
really think if you rewinded a couple of years, there
was video of him like throwing BP and Bartolo Cologne
was never a guy that overpowered you. He just threw
eighty eight to ninety and knew way to place the ball.
Who could still compete at a high level, if not professionally,
doesn't matter to the sport because even in the world

(52:58):
of fighting, I know if you saw this Rich but
Keith one time Thurman is saying he's making a grand
comeback in twenty twenty five. You see it in fighting
all the time because they get the itch and fighters
never know when they're done. Yeah, you know what, there's
a guy that played for my team last year and
played for monse you and Denny Geez Dodgers. Is there

(53:21):
any gas left in the tank for j D Martinez?
He looked lost at the playball I was gonna say
last year. I mean, I know he's adventuring into pickle
ball now, but j D Martinez, there were rumors like yo,
his veteran presence is so he's a great clubhouse guy exactly.
But there were times last year where I knew the

(53:41):
pitcher was throwing an outside slider and he would just
chase and miss by five feet like I got hot?

Speaker 2 (53:46):
Take ready?

Speaker 3 (53:47):
Has anyone said this based on this conversation, I truly
think Gronk could have been more productive if he played
this season than Travis Kelce. As lazy as Kelsey looked
in the Super Bowl. Have you seen some of the
tape of this dude? He wasn't even moving on half
of those there are some embarrassed. There's some isolated place
from the super Bowl, super Bowl. There's some isolated place

(54:09):
from the super Bowl that made Travis Kelsey look like
he was the last guy off the snap every time,
not blocking on Mahomes.

Speaker 2 (54:16):
No, he's nouting.

Speaker 1 (54:18):
He's never been a big blocker. I've seen video on
him before where he's no George Kittle. Yeah, I mean
his mo is get down the field fifteen yards and
stand around kind of in wait for Mahomes to scramble
and throw to you.

Speaker 2 (54:30):
You see him throwing his hands off, like what Yeah,
he's looking lazy. And I'm not hating. I'm just stating.
I like Kelsey was extra pouty as well as Mahomes
was in the super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (54:39):
And if you don't believe me, I didn't notice it
during the game, watch the tape. There's a lot of
clips that are surfacing on social media and you're like, Wow,
that dude didn't even block anybody, and the guy he
was supposed to block ended up tackling either the running
back or Mahomes.

Speaker 2 (54:52):
I damn.

Speaker 3 (54:53):
I know it's slow mo on Instagram at TikTok, but
there are plays that they're showing where the ball, and
he's a he's a good like second behind everyone else
as far as reaction, and the defender is getting two
steps before Kelsey's reacting like Gronky could have been Gronky
more productive. I think I think he could still play

(55:14):
a little bit.

Speaker 2 (55:15):
Sucks when you don't have the refs on your side.
Huh yeah, who.

Speaker 3 (55:18):
Else comes to mind? Fox Sports Radio Nation eight seven
seven ninety nine on Fox. There's a difference between he
looks like he could still play and then really believing
he could still play. Like we just interviewed Drew Brees.
Dude looked like he could still play. He was in
great shape, he looked young.

Speaker 2 (55:32):
What did he say to you? He said that he
thinks he could if he didn't have arthritis in his shoulder.

Speaker 3 (55:36):
He said the last year that he played his football
IQ and he was giving himself props.

Speaker 2 (55:41):
He said, I I could.

Speaker 3 (55:43):
He said I could still play today mentally mentally, but
and it is physically his whole body.

Speaker 2 (55:49):
He just said his shoulder.

Speaker 3 (55:50):
He's like, yo, anything beyond thirty or forty yards, I
just couldn't do it anymore. Even his last season, he
was just you know, short passes here and there, couldn't
couldn't throw it deep.

Speaker 2 (55:59):
He said. He said he couldn't throw past forty five yards.

Speaker 3 (56:01):
He said, if everything was under forty yards, he could
be elite right now in the NFL.

Speaker 4 (56:06):
He said, if he could use his other arm, Yeah,
trade his other arm because it's fresh that he could
definitely play.

Speaker 2 (56:11):
So who else do you think is sitting around that
could still play?

Speaker 3 (56:18):
I as we get to the phone calls, we're going
to talk about those retired players, NBA, NFL. A lot
to get to today, but as now a coach of
you know, my daughter's softball team and my son's baseball team.

Speaker 2 (56:29):
If you're the manager, make up your mind. Well, when
I say manager, you make fun of me. So what
do you want? I want the truth? Rich, I'm the manager.

Speaker 11 (56:36):
Transparency.

Speaker 2 (56:37):
Yeah, so it's a bummer. Still.

Speaker 3 (56:40):
I got that feeling of like, oh man, it's raining outside.
Practice is canceled, like today was supposed to be my
son's first t ball practice.

Speaker 2 (56:47):
It's supposed to rain all week here in LA. Did
you cancel it? That also makes you the general manager?
I had to be.

Speaker 3 (56:53):
They said fields are closed today. Yeah, I'm with the
GM and the manager. Ye're a coach. Wow, I'm just
fun in things. That's awesome. Shout out to my buddy
Jeff soup On, former baseball pitcher, is the guy that
runs my kid's pony ball, So.

Speaker 2 (57:05):
Get him out there.

Speaker 3 (57:06):
What a league they got Jeff soup On and the
softball king of the Valley, Rich Davis.

Speaker 16 (57:10):
I mean, do you think soup On could still throw
in them majors? You know, he looks trim and good
for you, no offense, no for you.

Speaker 3 (57:20):
He's been retired for a while and Sam, but you
know what, that's what we're asking Sam play it's dead.
Who do you think could make that sweet comeback and
still be able to play and compete at a professional level.
There's a lot of stories in the news. We brought
up Tom Brady. That's an obvious one. Aaron Rodgers. If
he were to retire, he'd be on standby for any

(57:42):
team that would need him in an emergency cause. And
there's always a star QB one that goes down in
the beginning of the season. He'd be the guy that
would be able to jump in. Robinson Cano. As of today,
pitchers and catchers. Robinson Cano in the News saying that
he could still play at a professional level.

Speaker 2 (57:57):
He's forty two years old.

Speaker 3 (57:58):
Though, who else I told you in the world of
fighting fighting one time, Keith Thurman wants to get back
in the ring at that one forty pound division and
compete with these young guys and one of my favorite fighters,
not because I like him personally, because he was just exciting.
Anytime someone says, oh, Connor McGregor, I'm like, I don't
want to see it anymore.

Speaker 2 (58:19):
Because that's a perfect example. Father time.

Speaker 3 (58:22):
My friends and I would never talk smack. I would
love to see it, but I don't believe it at all.
As far as I think he's washed, and I would
love for him to prove me wrong. I would never
say it to his face. I'm a fan, but I
don't think he could do it. Go buddy, Remember Joe
Bimel was trying to do that, yo. Joe Bimel former
baseball pitcher when weber Dodger Danny, he was real close

(58:42):
to making a professional comeback. He does baseball clinics for
kids in high school and college and young pros. Joe
Bimel in his early forties was throwing more heat than
he did in his big league career and he actually
got a minor league deal and I was hoping it
worked out. Yeah, because there was new methods of training.
He actually got bigger and stronger as a result, got
more heat on his fastball. But again father time won.

(59:05):
But he was real close to making it back to
the big leagues after retiring. So who do you think,
just based on the eye test, I guess and how
people take care of themselves, could actually still play. I
do think Gronk could still play. He's in good shape.
He's thinner now, but I think you know, he could
have still played if you wanted. He could bulk up.

Speaker 2 (59:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (59:23):
And by the way, let's bring it back to the
original thought. And then, Danny, I want to hear your
thoughts and we'll go to the phones. The original thought
was yesterday we at length we talked about where on
Earth could Aaron Rodgers land, and it never dawned on
us to think, well, maybe nowhere he doesn't retire, but he,
you know, chills out and then inevitably there will be

(59:44):
a top tier team that loses a quarterback due to
injury and incomes Aaron Rodgers to save the day, and
Cavino saying will he be ready?

Speaker 2 (59:52):
And I think the answer is yes. Yeah. Not too
long ago.

Speaker 1 (59:55):
I remember seeing Marshawn Lynch being interviewed and he said
he felt like he could still run over some players.

Speaker 11 (01:00:00):
That's so weird that you said that, because that's who
I had in my mind. I was like, am I
crazy to think Marshall Lynch can still go out there?

Speaker 2 (01:00:09):
We all felt.

Speaker 1 (01:00:11):
Those last couple of seasons with the Raiders. He obviously
wasn't as fast, but he still could bold defenders.

Speaker 11 (01:00:15):
Over right, That's what I'm thinking. It's like, I'm not
expecting him to be quick, but I think he could
be effective way.

Speaker 2 (01:00:20):
You know, he's in a movie. I saw him in
a trailer or something for a movie. Either that or
I dreamt it. Guy. He's also got a podcast with
Gavin Newsom.

Speaker 3 (01:00:29):
Does anyone listen to I may have had the weirdest dream,
but I'm pretty sure in a movie.

Speaker 2 (01:00:34):
I think we're all dreaming. I don't know what we're
talking about.

Speaker 3 (01:00:37):
Marshall Lynch has been several movies. What's more likely to
him playing in the NFL? Gatto for anyone to listen
to a podcast? Love Hurts? That looks pretty good. Oh yeah,
there's a Billboards offer right now. That came out last Friday,
so I was ready. So he might be able to
still play, but he's got a whole other career sort
of taken off as an actor. Ain't that wild? Marshall Lynch.

(01:01:00):
So we'll wrap it up with your phone calls? Who
do you think still has the juice?

Speaker 2 (01:01:04):
Roger? Hey, Roger Vermont.

Speaker 8 (01:01:06):
You're on, Hey, what's happening?

Speaker 2 (01:01:09):
What's somebody? I said, Roger, and you said, what's happening?
How about that? What's up? Buddy?

Speaker 12 (01:01:13):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (01:01:13):
Well, yeah, it's yeah, Roger works up. So this is
not really current, but I think into his late forties,
personal Walker could have still helped the team.

Speaker 2 (01:01:27):
Yeah, he was ripped it in shape.

Speaker 1 (01:01:28):
Yeah, he was training while he fought in the UFC,
right right, he did. Yeah, he was the answer to
this question a decade or say, fifteen years ago. He's
like sixty sixty one, kept himself in great shape.

Speaker 3 (01:01:41):
That's the thing not all athletes do, because they live
and eat the way they used to and they don't
make those adjustments post their career and either get way
out of shape or they just stopped lifting.

Speaker 2 (01:01:55):
Like Gronk did. Co You know what about what about
a wide receiver.

Speaker 3 (01:02:00):
We said to O, But I mean after he retired,
Ocho Cinco still seemed like he was.

Speaker 2 (01:02:06):
Taking care of himself doing you know, media stuff.

Speaker 3 (01:02:09):
Do you think Ocho Cinco a couple years later, if
he wanted to, could have pushed or I think, like
the end of his career, he was fading even when.

Speaker 2 (01:02:15):
He was on a team. I always got that that vibe.
Let's go to Joel in since he what's up, Joel?

Speaker 10 (01:02:24):
He'll henybody hold on?

Speaker 1 (01:02:27):
So one guy thinks that nobody's talking about recent and
I think he would still ball out and probably be
top five in his position at pro level.

Speaker 2 (01:02:36):
Andrew Luck, Oh yeah, if he wanted to take the chance. Yeah, he.

Speaker 7 (01:02:43):
Retired in his body, didn't go through a full, you know,
full full career of NFL play, So maybe he could
come back.

Speaker 2 (01:02:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:02:49):
It made me think of does he even belly now
though I'm portraying and Andrew Luck. Yeah, but he had
such skill, he's a skillful player. What happened to Victor Cruz?
Why did he retire? Too much salsa dance? Too much
salsa dancing? I think turned a salsa dance instructor, isn't
it isn't that true? You know, like Gurley got hurt.
I'm like one of one of these guys that were
sitting around like a Todd Gurley was sitting around, but

(01:03:11):
then he realized, you know what, man, I still could play.

Speaker 2 (01:03:14):
I rested off the injury or something. Some of these
guys are so young, man.

Speaker 3 (01:03:17):
Some of them retired early, like McAfee retired early to
do a podcast he could. Victor Cruz retired early to
do salsa dancing. I mean the Cruise is only thirty
eight now and he's been out in the league.

Speaker 2 (01:03:30):
How many years? What's up? Nick and Cincy? I was
saying Jamie Moyer, I think it's still uh one hundred
and forty seven when he retired.

Speaker 3 (01:03:41):
Jamie Moyer could collect uh Social Security and still don't
just stuck around. I put them together in my brain.
Darren Oliver, Remember how long that guy played? Darren Oliver,
That dude, I keep like he was playing forever. I
feel like Darren Oliver if we were, if we would
have played on the road again. I think Darren Oliver
played for every Major League Baseball But but Jamie Moyer,
he looked like he was at least fifty five when

(01:04:02):
he was still playing. Well you look up Darren Oliver.
Let's go to Mansi for an update.

Speaker 11 (01:04:08):
Yeah, yeah, guys, that's right. Think And in the NBA
Bucks Star Damian Lillard will be out for tonight's game
against the Timberwolves to allow a full recovery. Damian Lillard
the team Bucks Star.

Speaker 2 (01:04:21):
The other team Minnesota, Minnesota.

Speaker 11 (01:04:25):
I'm gonna keep saying all the words.

Speaker 2 (01:04:28):
Standing around the timber what Timberwolves? What wolves? Are timber Wolves?

Speaker 11 (01:04:32):
I really don't hear it, Like every everyone tells me,
where's your hell wolves? Did you get confused or did
you know who I was talking about? Okay, great, thank you.

Speaker 2 (01:04:41):
Being incredibly rude reached all the time.

Speaker 11 (01:04:45):
Yeah, the club back to Cavino.

Speaker 2 (01:04:50):
Thank you, I love you. Happy Valentine.

Speaker 11 (01:04:53):
Valentine.

Speaker 3 (01:04:54):
Okay, Cavino and Rich on Fox Sports Radio Live the Time,
IRAQ dot Com Studio appreciate you hanging out. We'll take
the rest of your feedback at Covino, Rich at Fox
Sports Radio. Who do you think still has the juice?
Who do you think could still play? Dannyg's on the

(01:05:15):
phones at eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox.

Speaker 2 (01:05:17):
Sam is here. He has your updates.

Speaker 3 (01:05:20):
But we're doing old school win fifty hits, our throwback
Thursday conversation again fifty to fifty. When it came to
the reactions of halftime this year, So if you were
in rock Nation, if you were part of jay Z's crew,
who would you have lined up for next year San Francisco?

Speaker 2 (01:05:41):
And and what was your favorite from back in the day?

Speaker 3 (01:05:44):
Could I I'm gonna shell you how this is done
so we don't have bird brains going on and on
and on.

Speaker 2 (01:05:51):
Meanwhile, is that what I'm doing? I think so?

Speaker 3 (01:05:53):
Right, here's how it goes. What's your favorite? Who do
you suggest? Here's my answer? My favorite everybody? Prince in
the rain silhouette, unbelievable Prince is my answer? My favorite
old school halftime show? And who do I think should
perform in the bay Area Super Bowl sixty And we
said the one rub. You can't say Metallica, it's too

(01:06:15):
obvious an answer. They're from the Bay Area and we're
due for a rock show. I'm going a combo show
post Malone featuring Miley Cyrus.

Speaker 2 (01:06:25):
I like it. I like it post Malone and Miley.
That's a good one.

Speaker 1 (01:06:31):
Actually, Yeah, I've seen the past couple days since the weekend,
people saying post Malone would be a good idea, but
because they're like, oh, he could bring out country stars
now and rock stars, and obviously he had hip hop
back in the day book, You've made the point, Covino,
it gets kind of corny when things are staged like that.

Speaker 3 (01:06:50):
It could, but I like, look, I hate Rich's music taste,
let's be honest about it. But I think it's a
pretty decent answer. I really do, because post Malone's so versatile.
Postmolone could bring out a tree artist and then a
hip hop artist, and then he.

Speaker 2 (01:07:02):
Could But then what does he look like like? Does
you know?

Speaker 1 (01:07:05):
Does he keep going back and changing to what he
looked like in White Iverson to now what he's doing
the way he looks with his country music.

Speaker 2 (01:07:12):
Now you know what changes. I'll give you this, Danny J.
That's why I think it could be kind of corny.

Speaker 3 (01:07:18):
I think that he's also the answer that because he's
mainstream enough, he has about five songs like your aunt
Nancy would recognize, he's a big star post Malone.

Speaker 2 (01:07:30):
Let's go to Trip in Vegas.

Speaker 3 (01:07:32):
Trip you're on with Covenon Rich Old School, and then
who do you think Mick Neely.

Speaker 12 (01:07:38):
Hey, gentlemen, first, uh, real quick. I know I don't
even be long, but hey, I just want to say
to the nation your people, thanks a lot Danny G
for setting that up to come out and meet you
guys as a fight. You guys could not be two
of the more nicer people I've ever met in my life.

Speaker 2 (01:07:52):
Trip.

Speaker 12 (01:07:52):
I just want to say that it.

Speaker 2 (01:07:53):
Was a pleasure.

Speaker 3 (01:07:54):
And by the way, Trip, thanks for the Tito's vodka
you bought me. I remember those things I owe you
next time.

Speaker 2 (01:07:59):
Trip.

Speaker 3 (01:07:59):
You were taller than I expected. Yeah, trips like Trip
could plain in the NBA something four?

Speaker 2 (01:08:03):
Who's this guy? Seven?

Speaker 12 (01:08:06):
The best part about it was when uh he ordered
his drink. He goes, don't forget my straw. I'm like, no,
I'm just kidding.

Speaker 16 (01:08:13):
Me.

Speaker 2 (01:08:13):
Give me your old school Trip, And who do you
think should be in the bay next year?

Speaker 12 (01:08:17):
You said what I was going to say, Prince is
two thousand and seven. That was insane in the light
and he said the show is going on And then
I'm gonna say post Malone, unbelievable.

Speaker 2 (01:08:25):
Look at that? Am I that on the right show?

Speaker 3 (01:08:27):
Why? Because the criticism with Kendrick lamar Is or the
show was it was. It was so Kendrick that if
you don't know his music like then you really weren't
entertained that much. And he didn't play any of his
any of his hits for money reasons.

Speaker 2 (01:08:42):
He's the room.

Speaker 3 (01:08:43):
He left off some hits, and you could argue was
more artistic than for the messes, and and you could
argue that post Malone gives you a little bit of
everything where that would eliminate the controversy, right, we would
include more people.

Speaker 2 (01:08:58):
So I do like that answer. I don't hate post
them alone.

Speaker 3 (01:09:02):
I think you know where I changed During COVID he
did a rock a live rock concert from like his house,
and he did Nirvana tribute.

Speaker 2 (01:09:11):
He won you over with Travis Barker and everybody. Yeah,
I thought that was awesome. I was like, man, this
guy's great. I didn't realize he was that versatile. How
about Huey Lewis in the news.

Speaker 3 (01:09:20):
You know, Huey Lewis and Joe Montana were great, great friends.
When you know what here, Let's that sounds like you're
being facetious, right, But you could do a tribute like
an eighties that would be cool featuring Huey Lewis, Lionel Richie,
like you know what I mean, like an eighties like

(01:09:41):
whoa no Way?

Speaker 2 (01:09:42):
Gotcha goo go? Yeah, because we just did. We just did,
why George?

Speaker 8 (01:09:47):
No Way?

Speaker 2 (01:09:47):
Three or four contemporary artists in a row, So that
would make sense, yo, But how fun would that be?

Speaker 3 (01:09:52):
You know?

Speaker 2 (01:09:52):
And that's back to fun? Like you know what?

Speaker 3 (01:09:54):
You know what Kendrick Lamar lacked in my opinion, and
this is no criticism. It is just my stupid opinion
opinion like podcast, everybody has one. Most of them think
it lacked fun. It's the super Bowl. There was no
fun had, right imagine boy George comes out after Lionel Ritchie,
after Huey Lewis. But what if it was all like

(01:10:16):
and by the way, I'm just naming random eighties doesn't
say a criticism?

Speaker 8 (01:10:19):
Is that?

Speaker 2 (01:10:20):
Also?

Speaker 3 (01:10:20):
Do you like it when they tie the artist to
the city. That's why everyone thought it was gonna be
Lil Wayne this year because it's New Orleans. I think
they should because it's the Bay Area. Do you say,
all right, a compilation of Bay Area artists or do
you say that's not who cares? I like the whole
you just hey, it's an eighty celebration. You have eighties
pop stars out there. There's so many pop stars. Cindy

(01:10:41):
Lauper comes out. Dude, you're trying to appeal to a
younger audience. You go, Kendrick Lamar, you don't go. You
don't appeal to our dads in next year.

Speaker 2 (01:10:50):
If you did each generation represented, like Bay Area musician. Yeah,
you could be creative.

Speaker 9 (01:10:54):
I like that.

Speaker 14 (01:10:55):
I like that any ideas. Dan byer Well, I was
gonna say one thing and I'll then I'll give you another.
The performance by Kendrick Lamar, And I know I'm one
of the fortunate and the few that was in the
dome during the performance, and I was critical of it.

Speaker 2 (01:11:08):
So I watched it when I got home, and it.

Speaker 14 (01:11:10):
Was a better TV viewing experience as you likely would expect, yea,
than being there. But my experience from being there, it was,
you know, the crowd wasn't super into it, but I
could see why people really enjoyed it, and I enjoyed
it more watching it on TV than being in the dome.
So maybe that's why there weren't a lot of loud cheers.

Speaker 3 (01:11:28):
Super creative camera angles and yeah, you know, imagery and
everything else.

Speaker 2 (01:11:33):
Yeah, I mean I could see that completely. What about
the killers, Well.

Speaker 3 (01:11:37):
You said you said mister Brightside had the stadium going crazy. Well,
mister Brightside, I think I always say this when I'm
on the serious six M channels. I think mister Brightside
is the best bar song and stadium song in the
last twenty five years.

Speaker 2 (01:11:52):
You're thinking of you need five songs. Six songs.

Speaker 14 (01:11:55):
It's thirteen minutes is basically what you gotta fill portions
of each of them.

Speaker 3 (01:11:59):
I think they close with and I'm the man I
like that one. That's all right, So let me give
me my answer before we go back to the phone. Sorry,
eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox. You're gonna say
I'm being facetious, I'm not. If you really want my
super Bowl halftime pick, there's not many. I'm not like
blown away by super Bowl halftime shows. I'll say Bruno
Mars for the heck of it, because he's impressive, Like

(01:12:20):
that was your favorite, I mean recently, like he went
on the drum kit. He's like a he could do
it all.

Speaker 2 (01:12:27):
So I'm impressed by the guys.

Speaker 3 (01:12:29):
I think Creed two thousand and one Thanksgiving game in
Dallas Creed because they did that My Sacrifice higher mixed.

Speaker 2 (01:12:36):
There was an aera list floating around guy like on
the of the scar. It was like it had the
essence of a real halftime performance. Can you take me?
And dude?

Speaker 3 (01:12:46):
They had a major successful run last year. So when
when I'm saying my favorite, it's almost a joke at
this point, but when you watch it now, it's sort
of magnificent. It's the two thousand and one Thanksgiving Dallas
game Creed, right, so I'll say that's my favorite. That
are Bruno Mars. But as far as who who could

(01:13:06):
they do? Let's balance it out. Kendrick Lamar was very
Kendrick Lamars, Kendrick and Sissam. Why can't they do an
angry divorced dad rock combo? Right, like, Hey, you know what,
we're gonna rock out this year. Switched up his rock
Nation and we're gonna bring it not too far back
but to the early two thousands.

Speaker 2 (01:13:26):
The butt rock.

Speaker 3 (01:13:27):
I gotta say this because I'm synonymous with Turbo forty
one on seresix smyeah, I'm on every night, But you
bring out system of a down and corn who is
not going to rock out? To that people that don't
like rock music. I like the answer, but I get
potential newsquash. Not everybody loves rap music, so they didn't
care about you.

Speaker 1 (01:13:45):
Then, Yes, so con a little compromise because my answer
is food Fighters. I love who Fights who I saw
in Tennessee a couple of years back. And I say
that because our fourteen year old who's been sick at
home all week bumping our music show No No, plays
Food Fighters from her playlist. She likes a couple of
their songs. We her parents like the song. So I'm

(01:14:05):
trying to think of a rock group.

Speaker 7 (01:14:07):
Wait, here's hold on, hold on, parents and the still
here's the problem with the Killers system of down corn
and uh what do we just say?

Speaker 2 (01:14:17):
Food Fighters? They're not They're like not the most relevant
they've ever been. Right now, Okay, I got one was dead.
All right, let's be real.

Speaker 7 (01:14:25):
There's no big rock band in the top of Imagine this, right,
Rock needs to come back to life.

Speaker 3 (01:14:29):
Sam, imagine this laid on me. You hear the sweet
bass line kicking in, right, just imagine, and all of
a sudden you see like a red Yankee hat popping
out and you hear.

Speaker 8 (01:14:39):
You don't know what sum it is.

Speaker 3 (01:14:41):
Oh my god, it's where the thurse. But he brings
out Wu Tang Clan and Method Man. So Limp Biscuit
up with Corn know because they did a song together
and together. Now, so what if Limp Biscuit comes out
and they're all angry dads with beards and everything.

Speaker 2 (01:14:57):
Yeah, and then you had to cap Method Man's doing
his thing. So you got hip hop, rock and rap.

Speaker 7 (01:15:04):
If you are going on bro, if you want to
sign me up, if you want to capture like what
they did with Snoop and Eminem and wasn't Mary J.
Blige all those people in LA and kind of the
nostalgia thing. But again it's like you're kind of like
Olympiskuit was like twenty five years ago.

Speaker 2 (01:15:18):
Hey, I was, sam, let me take it back. They do,
they do.

Speaker 3 (01:15:21):
That's why if you're going to go for that, Okay,
I was saying, I like it, let me take you
back because before before they've gone more relevant. Right recently,
it's been about who's hot now, right It's true, Yeah,
but you know it's not about who's hot right now,
because then you would say choppl Rone should be in
the halftime show.

Speaker 2 (01:15:38):
You've got to have a resume.

Speaker 3 (01:15:39):
What I'm saying is, lately it's been a star that's
currently peaking. The Patrick has a resume, he's been doing
it for over ten years. But you say hot right
now is different. No, you're not letting me finish my sentence.
I was sam Is saying, these other artists are not washed,
but they're their best days behind them. Recently they've gone

(01:16:04):
with artists who have a current big smash, not like
Us was the most decorated song of all time at
the Grammys a week before he did halftime Rihanna Beyonce.

Speaker 2 (01:16:15):
You know.

Speaker 3 (01:16:17):
We've done retro acts back in the day. It just
recently it feels like they've gone to the current artist.
I mean there were years when they had Paul McCartney
comes out there and then who they had Bruce Springs
for decades past. So to say that to Super Bowl
halftime shared never goes retro. The food Fighters is a
great answer, because I don't know who doesn't like Dave Grown.

Speaker 2 (01:16:35):
The Food Fighters.

Speaker 3 (01:16:36):
So if you said food Fighters but then also brought
out a Miley or a Post Malone, and I keep
bringing them up because I think they're mainstream enough.

Speaker 2 (01:16:44):
But Miley, who doesn't like by this, I got it.
I got it. A rock star that.

Speaker 3 (01:16:53):
Even your most like urban hip hop guy could appreciate.
Lenny Kravitz comes out and brings out everybody. He brings
out rock stars and hip hop stars.

Speaker 2 (01:17:03):
He's like, but he should.

Speaker 3 (01:17:08):
He's a rock star. He, in my opinion, is the
epitome of rock star. That could bring out a little
Wayne and that could bring out of Dave Grohl. Yeah,
he's right there in the middle man. For me, it
collaborates with a lot of people. I don't trust anyone
with a six pack when they're sixty years old. And
Lenny Kravitz has the what's the word? Just a word
I'm thinking of. But he has that rock star ability,

(01:17:30):
the easy that's a good one. He has the moxie
to be He's got the uh, the star of a
super Bowl halftime show.

Speaker 2 (01:17:38):
I don't think anyone would argue Lenny Kravitz.

Speaker 3 (01:17:40):
I don't think anyone would argue the Foo Fighters, Post
Malone and Miley. I keep bringing that up. I'm gonna
give you one more and then again. Then it's all you.
Phones are hot, every line is lit. They're so lit.
There's an artist that I personally love and I just
can't under I don't know if the temperature of the
room would agree that. I mean, you would know ten
of their songs immediately. Ed cheer he's fantastic. He does

(01:18:02):
stadiums around the world. It's not like he's I mean,
he's as big as any of them. And Ed Sheeran,
he does that thing where he'd play, he does the
repeater pedal and he could do like a whole song
by himself, like Ed Cheran if he brought out like
Ed Sheeran and friends. Because he's worked with post Malone,
He's worked with Miley and stuff. He's He's worked a
lot of these artists. So is Ed Cheering a bad choice?

Speaker 2 (01:18:21):
I love it.

Speaker 7 (01:18:22):
Do we give international stars like the super Bowl stage
a lot? I feel like we don't. I feel like
we always go with like a domestic product. If you
make it a big star here he is, I'm saying
he's not American though he's he's Irish whatever, Scottish short
of his English.

Speaker 2 (01:18:35):
You just don't like Gingers. Huh. Well, people, you want
to tell us how I approve of that, Sharon, because
people say you look like Ed Cheering. It sounded very gingerous. Yeah,
you're gingerous man.

Speaker 3 (01:18:45):
By the way, Well, I don't think it was I
don't think it was a compliment when that girl said,
oh my god, you look like a cheering.

Speaker 2 (01:18:50):
He's known for his talents. But let's go. Let's go.

Speaker 3 (01:18:54):
We'll start with Big Burt in Georgia and we'll go down.
What's up Big Bert?

Speaker 12 (01:18:58):
Hey, guys, thank you for having me again.

Speaker 5 (01:19:00):
Hey, great New York minds thinking like prints in the rain.

Speaker 12 (01:19:03):
You can't beat that man.

Speaker 6 (01:19:05):
He's the man back in the day.

Speaker 12 (01:19:07):
But here's who you need to bring for the next
super Bowl, Drake back to Cali.

Speaker 8 (01:19:12):
Think about that.

Speaker 3 (01:19:14):
You're after Kendrick. My only criticism has hits for days.

Speaker 10 (01:19:18):
I get it.

Speaker 3 (01:19:19):
My only criticism for Drake is he's too low energy
for Super Bowl. That's my only criticism.

Speaker 2 (01:19:25):
Big Birch just wants to see the battle continue. Yeah,
but yeah, I get it. He gets his uh, you know,
his chance to clap back.

Speaker 3 (01:19:32):
I felt that way about Usher if he had not
brought out, if he had not done Yeah, a lot
of Usher songs fl were very too r and bish
for that that stage.

Speaker 2 (01:19:40):
And I love Usher. Bobby in Mississippi. It's up. Bobby, Hey,
Bobby Guy.

Speaker 12 (01:19:45):
I love the show.

Speaker 10 (01:19:46):
I'm gonna say my favorite was Michael Jackson back in
the day. I'd like to see Carry Underwood at the
next one.

Speaker 2 (01:19:53):
She's fantastic. I saw her with guns and roses in Nashville.

Speaker 3 (01:19:57):
Kerry Underwood is deserving of and she got the tie
in because he does this Sunday in a football.

Speaker 1 (01:20:01):
She's got a song with Papa Roach right now too,
So does that is true? There's on Janity's to bring
you have some other acts out.

Speaker 3 (01:20:08):
Michael Jackson quick fun fact. Do you know the story
behind him doing the Super Bowl halftime show?

Speaker 2 (01:20:13):
Did you hear? You ever see that? How he wait?
He made the director wait, yes, do.

Speaker 3 (01:20:16):
You see lund? It was floating around TikTok and Instagram apparently,
Michael Jackson. You know how the halftime show is timed
to the second because they can't delay it. The game
has to pick up. Michael Jackson said, don't don't you
dare hit the song until I take my sunglasses off.
He's standing there, remember, just still, and like Michael, you're
ten twenty thirty seconds over a minute over. And he

(01:20:37):
wouldn't take the glass off because he was waiting for
the right moment to build the suspense, and the director
was losing his mind because the halftime show. You can't
you can't be fiddling around with two minutes and it's hilarious.
The guy's the guy almost lost it. Dave in Missouri,
what's up?

Speaker 6 (01:20:53):
Hey, guys, think you're making my call?

Speaker 2 (01:20:55):
No problem? What's up us?

Speaker 6 (01:20:57):
The most memorable there. I remember several good ones, but
that's most memory to me. Also Blink w I do too.
They're from California, not San Frantis, from San Diego.

Speaker 12 (01:21:07):
But you can't tell me.

Speaker 6 (01:21:08):
No one's going to be sitting there. No, everyone's going
to be going crazy if all the small Things comes on,
you know.

Speaker 2 (01:21:13):
I think it's got to be a Blink slash Green
Day performance at that point. Green Day is from that area.

Speaker 3 (01:21:19):
Yeah, well they're they're all from California, and I think
that they're on the Chili Peppers while you're at it. No,
because they're both considered punk in their own way, mainstream punk.
So I think you combine them too, and you have
a massive performance. But yeah, I think, man, there's so
many people that love Blankwinity too. These are all pretty
good answers to be honest, I don't hate any of them.
I think we could all agree that this year's halftime

(01:21:40):
show will lean rock or mainstream. I just think only
because I think so many of the bigger R and
B and hip hop names have done the show in
the past five to ten years. I can't think of
a top tier hip hop artist that is we're itching
to say, Steven Minnesota, what's up?

Speaker 12 (01:22:00):
Rich? How's going?

Speaker 3 (01:22:01):
What?

Speaker 2 (01:22:01):
Buddy?

Speaker 5 (01:22:03):
Just one, Let's just know that it's important to remember
Dan Byer's wife.

Speaker 2 (01:22:07):
Please, what a tool back? Yes, Da Virs? This guy
wants your wife? Or what did you steal your wife
from him? Is that? I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:22:17):
I don't know what's going on. She's a little uncomfortable.
It's my wife's birthday. Man, Well you can talk about
my wife. Leave dam Viyer's wife out of Marcel.

Speaker 2 (01:22:26):
Let's go to Marcel and La. What's up Marcel? What's up? Man?

Speaker 7 (01:22:33):
All right?

Speaker 13 (01:22:34):
So for my favorite old school one, I'm gonna keep
it old school because it was my mom's favorite singer
was Prince Yep, So I gotta say Princess Show is
the greatest ever because one he played in the in
the Rain, he says, you know, screw all that, I'm
gonna do my show, and it was an amazing performance,
played all his best hits. And for my choice for
the Super Bowl show this coming year, I'm gonna have

(01:22:56):
to say keep it old school again. I'm gonna stay Journey.

Speaker 2 (01:22:59):
I think that would he'll to our parents too much.
It's not a Journey, could be part of that generation.
Make a mix. We were talking about.

Speaker 3 (01:23:06):
Journey with the Filipino guy or with Steve Perry. That's
the controversy here. What are you gonna do?

Speaker 2 (01:23:12):
Combine them? Last call, We'll go to Tom in Rochester,
New York. What's up Tom?

Speaker 8 (01:23:17):
Hey? Thanks thanks for taking me.

Speaker 12 (01:23:19):
Love the show, Jo.

Speaker 13 (01:23:20):
I think everyone's missing the most obvious one.

Speaker 5 (01:23:23):
It's all of our ratings anyways.

Speaker 12 (01:23:25):
And anytime there's a Chiefs game on, there's an over
under on Swift. So why not put Taylor Swift out
there and you'll draw the.

Speaker 13 (01:23:33):
Women and if you want to like combo it just
for laughs throwing at Sharon.

Speaker 2 (01:23:37):
Thanks, guys, love that would be the good combo.

Speaker 3 (01:23:39):
If you're gonna go with Taylor Swift and bring out
somebody else, bring out as that would be cool.

Speaker 2 (01:23:44):
But again, yeah, I think that would be huge, and
if you just joined us.

Speaker 3 (01:23:48):
It was aside from Metallica, because we've gotten so many
hip hop and R and B artists in the past
few years, and because Kendrick Lamar has played, and because
it's going to be in San Francisco next year, the
obvious thought is Metallica. Right, yeah, Metallica. They're on tour again, Metallica.
So we said, minus Metallica, who would you choose if
