A Happy Tuesday unless you're a Tiger Woods fan. Oh
well today, Monty.
Speaker 4 (00:26):
Oh, it's a tough day for you.
Speaker 5 (00:27):
I know, you know.
Speaker 4 (00:29):
I think even if you're not a Tiger Woods fan,
did you hear the news? It might dan for your Tuesday,
But you can have tacos and make it all better.
Speaker 2 (00:37):
Also, happy anniversary five years covid today.
Speaker 4 (00:40):
See that like to the date?
Speaker 2 (00:43):
This is when the NBA suspended their season.
Speaker 4 (00:46):
Oh I see. I feel like when the world turned
upside down? Wasn't it like March seventeenth?
Speaker 6 (00:51):
Here?
Speaker 2 (00:52):
No, I No, I think it's today. It's the NBA
suspended their season and then everything else followed after that.
Speaker 4 (01:01):
So maybe I just took it seriously on March seventeenth.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
But I do feel that if you're going to use
a tweet to commemorate today works because it's five right,
it's a five or a zero. Ten works when you
do it on seven years. I feel that.
Speaker 4 (01:15):
That's seven people like seven low hanging fruit.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
It's six six years ago.
Speaker 4 (01:21):
Six years is not.
Speaker 2 (01:23):
Adam Schefter took time today to tell us that one
year ago, at two forty two Eastern time, Saquon Barkley
had agreed to terms with the Philadelphia Eagles. I feel
that's low hanging fruits. Okay, I feel that's just a
reason to get to get retweets and likes.
Speaker 7 (01:42):
Oh.
Speaker 4 (01:42):

gonna always get this because this is when the new
league year starts. Isaac lohing Cron is here. Jason Stewart,
our executive producer, Hello everybody, and welcome back Iowa, Saam.
Speaker 4 (02:20):
I was Sam, thank.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
You very much, good to be back, good to see you.
You were gone for a couple of days. Yes, I
was in Iowa honoring your late.
Speaker 1 (02:29):
Grandmother, tending some family matters with Carl Winslow and Erkele. Yes,
I was saying goodbye to my ninety four year old grandmother.
She had a great life. She was born about a
year and change after the stock market crashed, wow, and
the Great Depression started to put things into perspective.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
Well, we're glad that you were able to speak at
her ceremony and then have a great time. Therefore, there
was something that happened while Sam was gone, Manzie, that
I do want to bring to your attention and everyone's attention.
I know Sam, like Sam's going back home. It's bittersweet
because of the reason why he's coming back home, but
there is like a bit of a bit of an energy.
(03:04):
You're going back home, seeing people you want, seeing your girlfriend, right,
the whole deal. Yeah, absolutely, absolutely So I say to Sam,
give me a picture of Iowa. I want to see it, Like,
let me see what the Midwest is right now? And
not a nothing nothing, nothing picture, nothing, Not this was
he flew out on Wednesday or was it Wednesday or Thursday? Thursday,
(03:27):
very early Thursday morning. Okay, So nothing on Thursday because
we had said the day before Sam, at twenty four
hours from now, you're going to be in Iowa. Yeah,
And so he didn't. He didn't send any picture to
Jason or I and so I'm like, well, maybe he
just wasn't in a good spot.
Speaker 4 (03:43):
Sure, okay.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
And then the next day he did send a picture okay,
and it was a dandy I'll tell you so much.
So I actually have tweeted it. I want people win
today or just now. Okay. So when you go on
vacation or you go somewhere. This is no disrespect to
what it was. But I just thought maybe you'd be
like maybe the maybe Kinnick Stadium, Maybe you'd be outside
(04:07):
Carver Hawkeye, being like, hey, I'm back in Iowa City.
Maybe be where the Cedar Rapids Kernels play. Instead, you
just took a step out on a back porch and
took a picture and said this is Iowa. This is
the exact opposite a field of dream. I thought you
wanted a picture of like the weather. I didn't know
you wanted a landmark there. This is the least vacation
(04:28):
picture I have ever seen in my life. Yeah, you
can see it at Dan Byer on Fox someone's backyard.
Speaker 4 (04:35):
It's like he was annoyed and was like, oh, I
have to dig this picture. I'm just gonna go outside
click and walked right back in. That's what it seems like.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
Sam. I love this picture for so many reasons. Grass color,
the shed at the garage. Jason, you got this picture
the same time that I did, because we were on
the same group text.
Speaker 5 (04:54):
And for those that can't access Twitter right now, if
you're driving around, I don't know if you saw the movie.
It was called a Room by Brie Larson. She won
an Oscar for playing an abducted woman who was put
in the shed of a backyard in a Midwestern backyard.
And I think this is what Sam was sending us.
That shed that was her Yeah, free breeze. She was
(05:15):
in that shed.
Speaker 4 (05:16):
She was Yeah, Sam, it just looks like you were
annoyed and just stepped outside and took a picture.
Speaker 2 (05:20):
I can't I can't pick out if it's the shed,
or if it's the turnover basketball hoop that doesn't have
enough water or blew over in the wind. Yeah, but
we just see the bass and basically I would say
a seventy eight degree angle. Manzi has got it full screen,
Yeah on her.
Speaker 4 (05:38):
I just want to see up close.
Speaker 2 (05:39):
You could tell me this was Eastern Europe in nineteen
forty three, and I would say, yeah, okay.
Speaker 1 (05:47):
Sure, photo of history right there Belarus, since well that
Bellarius didn't exist back then. Hey, the Soviet Union somewhere.
I also noticed that your girlfriend wasn't in this picture.
I still have not seen her as.
Speaker 5 (06:00):
She by the way for a peak behind the curtain.
Speaker 3 (06:03):
I walked into this conversation midstream because I was heating
up my lunch, and when I saw Buyer tweet this,
I thought that didn't a few years ago, you visit
the scene from the movie A Christmas Story, Yes, where
the bandits were climbing over the house.
Speaker 7 (06:20):
That's what I thought it was.
Speaker 2 (06:21):
It was that this could be Cleveland, That's where they
filmed the Christmas Story. This could be Cleveland, Yeah, it
could be. Maybe people will let us know where they
think this is.
Speaker 1 (06:31):
So you're saying that whoever owns this house, uh may
need may need renovate data.
Speaker 2 (06:39):
It looks like what am I saying.
Speaker 4 (06:41):
You're saying that when you asked, it's very generic. Correct,
It does not show that you were in Iowa. Like,
it does not show that at all. Literally, it's like,
where is this?
Speaker 1 (06:52):
Well, Okay, I thought Dan just wanted a snapshot of
like what the weather's like in March and Iowa because
it's very I was just talking to Doug about this.
Speaker 2 (06:58):
It's very muddy, it is it's bleak, it's it's give weather.
Speaker 1 (07:03):
The way this was a little bit of snow in
the shadows you could see, so that kind of gives
you a little little hint to this would look.
Speaker 2 (07:08):
Like my backyard in Wisconsin in March. That's what it
would look like. The hoop was was bolted to our garage,
like to the top of the garage, so it wouldn't
have been tipped over. There's something to it. If you
could see there's a little dusting of snow next to
the garage that is there. But it's just the point
of you had twenty four hours and that's where you're
(07:29):
just like, well, I'm just gonna go out into the
backboard I and just grab a picture of a shed
with a fence.
Speaker 1 (07:34):
I was very the previous day when you texted me,
You're like, show me Iowa.
Speaker 2 (07:38):
I was very tired of taking a nap.
Speaker 1 (07:39):
I had a very early flight that morning, so I
slept through the text and it was already dark when
I you know, woke up. And so the next day
I thought I'd make good and sent you a very
ambiguous picture of somewhere Midwest USA.
Speaker 2 (07:53):
Ryan bersching Er sweets in by the way, is going
to join the show. This is the picture your cousin
shows when he says, this is where the above grown
pool is going to go. Yeah, that's very Midwestern too,
very very accurate. Oh man, So check it out at
Dan Byer on Fox if you will. I I just
got such a kick out of it.
Speaker 1 (08:14):
That's like your average I mean, it's a little small backyard,
but it's kind of like your average Midwest backyard.
Speaker 2 (08:19):
Absolutely, absolutely, one hundred percent. But I thought maybe maybe
even just you know, empty cornfield, you know, getting ready
for the for the upcoming season. But it has to
make a trip for that.
Speaker 1 (08:30):
I had to make a trip to Carver, make a
trip to Kinnick and get a landmark in there, maybe
the Nile Kinnick.
Speaker 2 (08:37):
Statue. Outside of that I would have been sufficient. Hey guys,
look back home. I'm back home to work. Oh man,
tell us your thoughts get her at Moncey Belagias. You
can find me at Dan Byer on Fox, at Iowa
Sam ninety nine, at Jason Stewart, and at Isaac lowing Kron.
You heard Isaac say it off the top, and I
mentioned it as well. Tiger Woods ruptured his left achilles
(08:58):
tendon and out for the When I say foreseeable future,
that can mean a lot of stuff. But here's the deal.
He's not going to be playing in any golf tournaments
this year. And now here's the question. Will Tiger Woods
be playing in golf tournaments again? Period? Yeah, And Mancy,
I feel like there's this portion of the audience because
(09:20):
I know that there's another side of it, But one
portion of the audience is saying, oh geez, this is
the end. This is absolutely this is the end. And
then I feel that there's this other side that is
not saying this is the end. They've said it's been
over for a while, it's been over.
Speaker 4 (09:36):
And then I think there's a small, you know, a sad.
Speaker 2 (09:39):
Market in a shed in a backyard in Iowa.
Speaker 4 (09:41):
Does exactly. They're like, it's not over. It's Tiger. He's
going to get through this.
Speaker 2 (09:47):
When he wins. He wins the Master's at fifty one.
Speaker 4 (09:50):
I want to remind you that I said it. Yes,
I will remind you that he wasn't ready to hang
it up. I feel like there's a small small sample
of people like that, and then yeah, I'm in the
sample where I'm like, oh man, it is over, isn't it?
Because I did not think it was over. I really
did it. And I don't know if it's because it's
Tiger Woods and he is greater than the sport of golf,
(10:12):
you know itself for people you don't even have to
be a golf fan, you know who Tiger Woods is.
And so I don't know if it's like part of
me always wanted to be like, no, he'll bounce back,
and he will end on his terms, not on terms
like injuries or the car accident.
Speaker 2 (10:25):
You know, I completely understand that, and I can empathize
with that feeling. When Tiger won the twenty nineteen Masters,
the topic of conversation was not now that he's got
to fifteen majors to try to catch Jack Nicholas as eighteen.
There were people who are saying, all right, now he's
on to nineteen and not even talking about number sixteen, right,
(10:47):
not taking everything that had to go into play and
taking into account would allow him to just win one
more championship or one more major championship, So twenty nineteen.
And I felt this way. I actually felt the way
that it happened. This was Jack Nicholas's nineteen eighty six Masters,
This was going to be the one off, This was
going to be his final, last hurrah. But there were
(11:09):
a lot of people, I'm not saying a majority, but
there were a lot of people, Manci, that were in
that small group that you talk about now, that felt
like this was going to be that was going to
be the start of a run for him. Now then
everything changed again with the car accident, with him almost
losing his right leg. And that's what's so damning in
the information that Tiger put out today is that he
(11:30):
popped his left achilles. And it shouldn't be surprising since
that leg probably takes on so much more of what
Tiger needs to do to get in shape. And in
his statement that he released, he said, as I began
to ramp up my own training and practice at home.
I felt a sharp pain in my left achilles, which
was deemed to be ruptured. He had surgery and they
(11:50):
expect a full recovery. We've seen Tiger play on the TGL.
We have not seen them tee it up this year
and walk eighteen holes, let alone seventy two holes in
a major championship court, with absolutely no prep. That's how
far away it is. He can play simulator golf yep
and be fine, and even admitted that he was rusty.
But even as he started training and starting building up,
(12:11):
something catastrophic like this happens. He's gonna be fifty in March.
In December, excuse me, it's gonna be fifty in December.
And if you didn't believe it before, I think that
this is the final. This is the final one. There's
no way that you can really come back from this.
The point is, Manci is it takes everything to get
(12:31):
back yep. And now he suffers the injury in training
and just trying to get ready for his first tournament,
let alone playing a bunch. If you don't believe it now,
I don't know what to tell you, but this shuar
feels like the end, it really.
Speaker 4 (12:45):
Does, and I didn't believe it. I didn't believe in
the end. Yeah, I do believe it now, But just
because I believe it, I don't think Tiger believes it.
I don't think Tiger at least, he's not gonna admit it.
Like I don't think he's gonna say, all right, I
think this is the end of my professional competitive golf career.
I don't see that happening. And I don't blame him,
(13:07):
like how this isn't how you want to go out,
so for him, I just I don't think he sees
it that well.
Speaker 2 (13:13):
Do you think that golf, because of the sport that
it is, would make Tiger Woods think that he can
do it. I've heard the story from Mark Slerath a
couple of times where Shlerev talks about when he was
late in his career, he was watching film and noticed
somebody on film that was just awful and getting beat
by everybody. Then he realized that that was him. Yeah,
(13:33):
he was the one that was getting beaten by everybody.
Said that's my time. You can play to your ninety
if you want to, But at the highest level. I
don't know if that comes into play in the competitive nature.
But football players kind of seem to know. Peyton Manning
couldn't throw the football ten yards it seemed like at
the end, so you know that the end is near.
I don't know Tiger may have that problem because of
(13:54):
the type of sport that golf is that doesn't necessarily
give you that answer.
Speaker 4 (13:58):
I don't know if it's that. I think it's just
he wasn't expecting to go out this way. Sure, and
you could go back to, you know, the car accident,
it's not this moment. I think it's just like everything
that has happened, that's not how he was expecting to
go out, and I think it's hard for him to
get over that mental hurdle. I don't think it's that
he thinks if other NBA players, you know, we've got
(14:21):
pictures that have Tommy John late in their career and
then they come back and then they're successful again. I
don't think it's that he thinks it's easier because it's
golf and he should be able to do it. I
think it's just like, this is not the way I
was expecting to.
Speaker 2 (14:33):
Go out, Sure, And I'm not saying that it's easier.
What I'm saying is like in the NFL, you can
see when other guys are beating.
Speaker 4 (14:39):
You, right, because it's more physical, though it's more obvious
to the eye. Correct in this situation, like it's hard
to hit a damn golf ball and you really like
you see someone swing and it doesn't look like it
can't be that hard. It can't be that hard on
your body. When you see a different sport where it's
more physical own there's more contact, right, golf looks on
it looks easy, but it's not correct. It's not. It's
(15:01):
very difficult to hit that stupid little ball.
Speaker 2 (15:03):
And to do everything that Tiger needed to do to
get ready. It is not easy on his body, which
has been through the ringer. The other point in this
is golf is a different game because of Tiger Woods.
And it's one of the things that I've pointed out
what I find so tricky with Tiger is if Tiger
(15:23):
didn't have the Tiger Woods effect, he was almost a
victim of it because of all the young people that
he inspired. So now golf has gotten incredibly younger.
Speaker 4 (15:32):
Yes, and popular and cool yes, cool, yep.
Speaker 2 (15:36):
And if you even look at the lifespan of current
PGA Tour pros, forty is starting to be old because
of how far some of these kids can hit the ball.
And I say kids because they're in their twenties and thirties.
But when you get into forty, like the PGA, the
life of a PGA Tour player would go into the
forties and even into the early fifties to some players.
(15:56):
So that's why you thought, Hey, Tiger Wood's good. Phil
Michelson won the PGA Chanchampionship at you know, a month
shy of being fifty one in twenty twenty one. But
there's to go out and consistently do it. And now
to face the quality of young players when they're they're
making forty year olds extinct, let alone somebody who's about
to turn fifty in December. Yeah, that's tricky.
Speaker 4 (16:16):
I didn't even think of that. But if you're Tiger,
do you still like do you rather go out trying
till the very end or do you just go out now?
I don't know what's better for him.
Speaker 2 (16:30):
I think he wants to play in a tournament with
his son, Okay, all right, little Lebron James. I think
he would like to play in a Master's with his son.
Speaker 4 (16:38):
Okay, So if he's not playing in this year's Masters.
Speaker 2 (16:41):
Yeah, correct, and his son's you know, still in high school.
But so like I think that Tiger will. I don't
know if you'll have a full schedule. I'm sure that
he hopes that he can. I think the TJL actually
has been successful. I think that will carry in the
next year as well. I know it got some rough
reviews early on, but I think overall it's been a
good product. Maybe you focus on that. I think his
(17:02):
ultimate goal would be to play in the Master's if
his son was able to get to that level and
play in the Masters, which is a long way off,
but I think that would be his goal. And I
just don't know if keeping your body ready for that
point eight years down the line is sick.
Speaker 4 (17:17):
That's a ways a way it is, Okay, it is,
And he could get probably an invitation no matter what.
Speaker 2 (17:23):
Well, he's all he would go every year because you want.
Speaker 4 (17:25):
It, okay, right, so he can go whenever he wants.
Speaker 2 (17:28):
There's a point where they start cutting off the old guys.
Now he used to let anybody play, and I'm like, okay,
move on. So guys are kind of leaving in their
in their late fifties and sixties, but to give Tiger
one go around if that were to happen, And by
the way, that's not a given. That's not a given
that Charlie Woods would be able to make the PGA Tour.
And you're just I would think that that would be
his ultimate goal with it, which would be a reason
(17:49):
and maybe want to keep in shape and want to
keep doing all of that stuff. But it took him
a lot. He would see and he'd have a morning
tea time, he'd be up at three am to start
to get ready to see off at seven o'clock.
Speaker 4 (17:59):
But he could realistically still do that and not do
it in a competitive way like he could participate. He could,
you know, and just not be the Tiger Woods that
I guess most of us have hoped to come back.
Speaker 2 (18:12):
It's getting fewer and fewer.
Speaker 4 (18:14):
It's just it's just like there have been.
Speaker 2 (18:16):
More statements that he's announced from his Twitter handle that
he isn't playing than that he is.
Speaker 6 (18:22):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 2 (18:23):
I mean that's so anytime it pops up, I'm like,
is it something about his gear or what happened?
Speaker 7 (18:27):
Now?
Speaker 2 (18:27):
And as you heard Isaac say, and we told you
Tiger Woods ruptures his achilles, wiping out his twenty twenty
five season before even teeing it up in an event
this year, and puts even into more question on how
much more we will see if Tiger Woods I do.
I'll say this final parting shot. I do think he
wants to win a US Senior Open. Okay, now the
Senior Open fifty and older, and that would add to
(18:50):
his USGA when the US Am obviously when the US Open,
this would be a Senior Open. I also think that
he has another maybe a mid Am to go along
with that. It's very inside golf, but I do think
Kim playing in the US Senior Open is something that
he would want to do so that could allow him
to come back and that's usually played in June, to
try to come back and be competitive again. But there's
(19:12):
just no way he's going to be competitive on the
PGA Tour or in the four majors that aren't you
know that are the Master's PGA US Opening.
Speaker 4 (19:20):
It seems that way just because of all the other
stuff that he's gone through. Yeah, there's no you're not
fully recovered from the car accident. You've shared that with
us and now you're going through this.
Speaker 7 (19:31):
It's Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup

Speaker 2 (19:47):
Well, if you didn't get your Texas Rangers cap by now,
it's too late. It is way too late. Monte Belanos
is just seeing the Texas Ranger alternative cap put out
by New Era. That's a new area that was pulled
off the shelves.
Speaker 4 (20:04):
It's it's it's already been pulled.
Speaker 2 (20:06):
Yes, can you get the other twenty nine clubs, even
the Astros one that looks like ash Oh's. Yeah, they
put a logo over the team name, and what did
the Texas Rangers? There's said you can say it?
Speaker 4 (20:21):
Can I say that? It says it looks like it
reads yes, which is Spanish for boobs.
Speaker 2 (20:28):
Which I did. I did not know. I did not
I did not know.
Speaker 4 (20:32):
You guys, it's.
Speaker 2 (20:32):
MANSI saw it because Big Mike walked in here, the
guy who doesn't run this place, and goes, you are
you your two coach hirt? And Mantis like what? And
I was about to go to HR and so then
she saw the hat and lost her mind.
Speaker 4 (20:47):
I didn't know. I cannot believe this was printed, approved,
put on the shelves at all. This is one hilarious.
But who saw this and was like, yep, that's the one.
Move forward, Make a million of them.
Speaker 2 (21:03):
Jack looks good, looks looks good, looks good, looks good,
looks good. Yep, ship them out.
Speaker 4 (21:09):
Ship them out, put them on the shelves, put out
those tatus.
Speaker 2 (21:12):
Maybe maybe somebody who took German and Ice school like myself.
I did not know what tetas meant. Honestly I did not.
Speaker 4 (21:19):
Also, Texas, you know speak people speak Spanish there, Texas,
What are we doing?
Speaker 2 (21:24):
I guarantee that would have sold like crazy and everywhere, all.
Speaker 4 (21:28):
Of a sudden, everybody would be wearing a Texas Rangers hat.
They should have kept them on the shelves. This would
have sold this. I was gonna buy one. You guys
like this is hilarious. It's so good because it's so bad?
Speaker 2 (21:42):
What major League Baseball putting the kabash on it? Yes,
ending oh, I.
Speaker 4 (21:48):
Will say, all the other ones also look terrible, but
for different reasons. This is this isn't work.
Speaker 2 (21:53):
That's odd though, because sports companies usually don't make ugly
looking hats that forcing their fans to wear the NFL. Yeah,
they never make ugly looking hats. Championship hats, They're never ugly.
I am being totally facetious. I haven't seen a league
produced hat that I've wanted to wear, probably in over
a decade.
Speaker 4 (22:11):
I would not wear this Dodgers hat if you gave
me money, like I would not. Are you kidding me?
None of them are good? That one is just hilarious.
That's the one you should have kept on the shelves
that you should.
Speaker 2 (22:21):
Hitch you rather, would you rather wear the Dodgers hat?
Or vacation in Iowa, Iowa? Sam was able to just
don't search titas on any work computer, just search Texas
Rangers hat on the work computer because.
Speaker 4 (22:36):
Now there's been the stories on it so you can
see it.
Speaker 3 (22:37):
And by the way, this is just another example of
Major League Baseball discontinuing something very fun because of a
graphic exchange on NBC Philadelphia. Previously, when the Phillies had
played the Pirates, the score bug on the TV telecast
would show the P for the Phillies zero zero for
(22:58):
the score and the P for the Pirate's logo. So
it's spell out poop, oh, keep it clean, eyes thinking
right right, Yes, none of that anymore, not fun anymore
in baseball.
Speaker 2 (23:09):
No more poop on the TV and the Keystone States,
and no more taitos. Hats man, They're not gonna want
us back here on Cavino and Rich. This Iowa backyard
is the only thing to save us so far. The
only wholesome thing we've discussed it truly is I want
to get into this Celtics docu series produced by Bill Simmons.
I started watching some of it last night and it
(23:30):
really just kind of started to get the wheels turning
of do we need a Celtics docuseries? And if we don't,
what sports team, college or pro I'm even for? Would
you be willing to think that could produce a docuseries
where there'd be enough content that you would be interested
in the last thing that I want to see is
(23:53):
another story about a Boston sports team. I feel we
get so many of them, but there are stories that
I still need to be told in sports. So we
put that question to you, if there was one team
in any sport, in professional or college that you wanted
to see a full DOCU series of who would be
sufficient what would be that team? Hopefully it's not the
(24:16):
Boston Celtics, because there already is one of that. I'll
give you my thoughts on it in a second, but
I do want to mention this when we posted the
picture of Iowa Sam vacationing in Iowa. If you're just
tuning in, I put it up on Twitter at Dan
Byron Fox Fox Sports Radio has retweeted it. Monzi, You've
retweeted it. So is Jason Stewart at Jason Stewart at
(24:37):
Manzi Blanio's. And we're getting replies. We're getting replies from this.
I asked Iowa Sam, when he went home to Iowa
for a few days, give me a picture of Iowa.
I waited twenty four hours only for him to send
me back a picture of an overcast sky backyard with
a shed like that's what it was in a fire
pit man. There's many details you're leaving out here, and
(24:57):
a tipped over basketball hoop, a line of unraked leaves
on the fence line, and also a strip of snow
by the garage. I've also noticed there's a piece of
paneling off of the garage. And by the way, as
we found out, this was garage number two. But where
in the world could this place be if it isn't Iowa,
That's what I want to know. I'm getting a lot
of Wisconsin replies, no, that it is not Wisconsin. Chad
(25:20):
tweets in Oklahoma.
Speaker 4 (25:22):
Nice.
Speaker 2 (25:22):
Jason and I were just there in November. I think
the dormant grass would fits. Yes, that could be Oklahoma.
Speaker 1 (25:28):
That's why I said Texas kind of like that yellow,
dead dead grass.
Speaker 2 (25:32):
You know. I I think it's a little too far south.
Another person Milwaukee my backyard. That's from will It was
not my backyard. Kevin Short I love Kevin Canada absolutely.
How about Eric Landrum. I love Eric's Toledo, Ohio could
totally This could totally be Toledo, Ohio, very specific fifteen.
(25:53):
It could also be Warsaw, Poland. I think it could absolutely.
I think it could be. There are a lot of options.
Check out Iowa of Sam's vacation picture. Mind you, that
was the vacation picture that he sent to us. My
goodness for twenty four hours, nothing with nothing with a
Kinnick Stadium or Carver Hawkeye or what else is there
(26:15):
in Iowa? City or Cedar rapids.
Speaker 1 (26:17):
Yeah, you have the cornfield pancrast, you have the old
Capitol building onto your old high school and taking a
picture different places on campus. It's just a random backyard
with a shed in a neighbor's backyard.
Speaker 4 (26:27):
Or even just like a wide open field. It's just
like this. This is a stop photo from the internet.
You didn't even take this. You just went to Google
and said generic photo.
Speaker 2 (26:39):
Backyard looks like the backyard that that guy kept those
girls in that house in Cleveland. Nice, that's what it
looks like, exactly right right.
Speaker 1 (26:46):
I was gonna say it's like Buffalo Bill's backyard or
something like Away the Lambs.
Speaker 5 (26:52):
It definitely has abduction or it's a it's a picture
sent to Homeland Security. This is where the immigrants are,
score like sixty immigrants.
Speaker 2 (27:03):
What is in this planter that's next to this shed?
What is there something that's planted in that well?
Speaker 1 (27:08):
There were there was sweet corn growing in So this
is my girlfriend's back here. She bought a house in
the summer of either twenty twenty three or twenty twenty four.
Speaker 2 (27:16):
Ageah girlfriend not pictured.
Speaker 1 (27:17):
Yeah, no, I know, And you guys still don't even
know Manci matter actually when she was here visiting, but
it was she bought this house and she really hasn't
done anything with the backyard yet. But there were sweet
corn growing in there. No, and neither did the previous
owners either or the previous owners. I don't think anything's
been done to that backyard since it was built whenever
that was in the sixties or whatever.
Speaker 2 (27:38):
But now this garden, I mean we're talking about it's
at least two feet by two feet.
Speaker 1 (27:43):
Get a really good sun, like all day north to
south or east.
Speaker 2 (27:47):
What am I saying whatever? North to south, east to west.
Speaker 1 (27:51):
I was just thinking, like the sun gets so I
was like, you should plant some sunflowers there, you know.
But there were sweet corn growing there last year. And
here's where Auntie Tomato plants. The gardens pinned between a
shed and a garage. How can it get good sun?
It does though, the way that the house is facing
this picture facing west, so it does get worse vacation
(28:15):
photo I have ever seen. It gets east to west
sun and it and honestly probably gets in the summertime
ten to twelve hours of lights.
Speaker 3 (28:21):
Actually, Sam, we apparently are connected with someone who actually
thinks it's actually a beautiful place. Let's listen, is this
heaven No.
Speaker 7 (28:32):
Siowa.
Speaker 3 (28:34):
So at least one person out.
Speaker 2 (28:35):
There likes it. I would turn around and go right
back into the cornfield if I saw this you wanted,
you wanted a photo of a cornfield with nothing in
it but old silage and you know, just dirt over this.
Speaker 1 (28:47):
This beautiful little backyard American homeowners Dreams backyard. This thing
is not that different of the backyard that I grew
up in. It's just the point that it's March. There's snow,
it's claws, there's no leaves on the ground. The whole,
the whole deal. That's the whole.
Speaker 2 (29:04):
I think it really sums up life in the Midwest.
Just this is why people are like spring, please get here,
right right? Okay.
Speaker 1 (29:13):
So honestly, though, that was from Thursday that I went
back to Iowa.
Speaker 2 (29:18):
Did she send us an updated pick with her in it? No? No,
did I send you one? They never take pictures together,
No we do.
Speaker 1 (29:27):
I just didn't, you know, I just didn't. I just
I send you the picture just to show you what
the weather was like and what the girl like. The
grass color very important. You can tell what month or
season it is in Iowa and the rest of the Midwest.
By what color the grass is?
Speaker 3 (29:40):
By the way, is it me or did you just
use a word called silage? What is that?
Speaker 1 (29:47):
Silage is basically everything on a corn cob, but the
corn cob. So there's an ear, there's the ear ears
of corn that grow out of the stalk, and the
silage is like everything that's kind of charted, churned up
and torn up and you know, either fed to animals
or it's just kind of regard recycled into the ground.
Speaker 2 (30:07):
I learned what taitos means in Spanish, and you just
learned what silage means there. It is teaching people here
on Cavino and Rich on Fox Sports Radio, educating. I
learned a little about the Boston Celtics last night and
watching the first episode of the docu series produced by
Bill Simmons, and it starts with the early days of
the Boston Celtics nineteen fifties Boston Celtics. And when I
(30:30):
heard that there was a docu series, I said to you,
Manzi said to Jason as well, I have zero desire
in watching this. And the reason I have zero desire
in watching this is it's twofold. Number one never was
a Celtics fan, so number one that has me eliminated
on a fandom sort. I'm a sports fan. I can appreciate,
(30:52):
but I'm not gonna watch everything. If there are certain
teams that maybe I'm not a fan of or didn't like,
didn't care for, or if their success was to my detriment.
Like the Fab five documentary The Knact to Ohio State
out in the Elite eight in nineteen ninety two. I
have never watched that. Thirty for thirty I will never
watch it. I have not seen it. I don't want
to see the Patriots documentary from when they beat the Seahawks.
(31:15):
I have no desire, but I'm not a Celtics fan,
so I'm not into this sort of documentary. However, I
can appreciate the history of sports. But the problem is
I just mentioned the Patriots. I feel like we had
a Patriots documentary that you could go watch. I feel
like I've seen nineteen documentaries on the two thousand and
four Boston Red Sox. How many more documentaries or docuseries
(31:37):
do we need about Boston sports teams?
Speaker 4 (31:40):
Not the same stuff, yes, because.
Speaker 2 (31:42):
It's not just about the team. It's also about the people,
the fans, the community, what it's like, and I feel
we're just always talking about the Boston fans and how
great the Boston fans were with the Red Sox or
what they went through the Patriots. Again, haven't the documentary,
but I don't feel like I need to see this documentary.
(32:03):
I did watch the first episode last night, so I
felt I could be educated to talk about this topic.
And if you love history, then it's for you because
the whole first episode is about Bob Coosey and Bill Russell.
But do I want to go back and then watch
another another hour long episode.
Speaker 4 (32:23):
I didn't even know this thing was a thing. I
didn't know this documentary was out. It is not for
me either. I have no interest. In fact, like you
mentioned those other two, I rather watch a documentary on
the FAB five on the Patriots. I think the Patriots,
it's like, we don't want to watch that because that
just happened. We feel like it just happens, yes, and
I don't want to watch it. I'm just saying I will,
you know, over the Celtics. And maybe it's because I'm
(32:44):
not a fan of the Celtics, but I also I'm like,
I don't know if you're really gonna teach me anything
or show me something where it's gonna I'm gonna be like, Man,
I really learned something that I didn't know, and I'm
glad I learned it. I'm being honest, I don't think
I'm gonna get that. And then when you said that
they're releasing one episode per week, I'm like, oh, no,
you're really losing me. They're coming to sit down every
one and you better get it all in in ninety minutes.
Speaker 2 (33:06):
There's and yeah, that's exactly it. There was two There
were two episodes available. This is on HBO Max. There
are two episodes that were available, both an hour long
and the first one, as I said, it was about
Bob Cousey and Bill Russell. And then I read the
description of the next one, which is about Bill Russell
taking over as they head coach of the Boston Celtics.
Haven't gotten to it yet. But again we're two episodes in.
We haven't gotten to any point of Again I'm not
(33:29):
against history, but of a time that that I remember.
And again it's the Boston Celtics who just won everything.
Speaker 4 (33:35):
HM.
Speaker 2 (33:36):
So where's the Where's the fun in that. So that
got me to thinking if there was a docu series
that you could put forth about one team and Jason
you pointed it out, This is Bill Simmons love affair,
right that this is is? Isn't that how you described
what this project?
Speaker 5 (33:51):
Was?
Speaker 2 (33:51):
It true?
Speaker 5 (33:52):
Seems like it right? He and his uh A production company.
I forget what it's called. They've done a couple of
really good documentaries and by the way, I'm a docu
file Is that a word? I love me some documentaries.
I'm doing the Lacy Peterson right now on Netflix. I've
seen like three or four others and I'm still riveted.
But no, I think this is definitely a passion play
(34:13):
for Bill Simmons. He talked Max into doing six or
seven hours of this and it's definitely his thing. But
my question for you is this, if it goes back
all the way, there is something interesting that happens at
some point, right, because Boston is a very complex city racially,
is it going to get into.
Speaker 2 (34:34):
All that it started? Yeah? It did in the first episode.
Speaker 5 (34:37):
See that interests me. I think the social aspect of
that I think interests me. If that's the case, I
might watch.
Speaker 2 (34:43):
It I feel that. And again that's the part where
it's like I'm not against history, but it is I
feel like it's just always about Boston and Boston, the
city and these dynamics. I don't know why, I'm just
I just I'd rather see something about a team.
Speaker 4 (35:03):
That we know nothing about, that doesn't get attention, that
doesn't have a storyline every year and under you know understandably.
So it's like Boston, you have had so much success
in sports, like we get that. But I think it's
because we talk about it, we hear about it. It's nothing.
It doesn't feel like anything is new, even though I'm
sure I don't know the history like that, it just
doesn't feel like anything is new because we talked so
(35:24):
much about Boston.
Speaker 2 (35:25):
Yeah, they dive into the Celtics being the first team
to have a black player in the NBA, Bob Coozy's
relationship and there was there's just it grabbed my attention.
I watched it. I was not not entertained because it
was providing information and to hear Bob Coosey talk about
(35:48):
his time they had read our box daughter on there,
she you know, had some It was it was interesting.
It wasn't bad. It's just not what I need as
a sports fan. And I don't know if I'm gonna
go back when there's a new episode launched and a
new episode launched and a new episode launched, and I think,
but I do think that there are teams across the
whole gamut of sports, and that's what we call on
(36:11):
you to let us know what team you think should
be a focus where if you look over their whole history,
you'd be like, Wow, that was a roller coaster ride.
And I don't know if it's the Boston Celtics.
Speaker 4 (36:20):
Yes, it's a good way to put it. And I
think its a lot that you just said I watched
it so that I could talk about it. You didn't
watch it just because you were like, oh, I want
to sit down and watch this, Because you're right, like,
if I go to someone's house and they put it on,
I'm gonna watch. I'm gonna sit through it. This isn't
something on my I'd be like, I don't want to
watch this, But in my free time when you go home,
is this what I'm gonna put on? Absolutely not.
Speaker 2 (36:40):
So we ask you the question eight seven seven nine
nine on Fox eight seven seven nine nine six six
three six'. Nine what team do you think would be
worthy of a docu? Series professional or. College i've got
one off the top of my, head and we're not
gonna Iowa sam this and give three. Each okay if
you have, One Sorry, sam but you know it's. True
(37:01):
if you have a, team let us. Know that's what
we want to. Know eight, seven seven nine nine One
fox eight seven seven nine nine to six six three
sixteen at six.' nine the team that you want to
know the history about that would be worthy of. A,
docuseries Listen The jacksonville jaguars have been around for almost.
Thirty years it's not worth the documentary so much that
(37:22):
is that is not. The case there IS an nfl
TEAM that i think. Is worthy i'll give you my nomination,
right now, all right go. FOR it i Think the
raiders would. Be WORTHWHILE why i.
Speaker 4 (37:32):
Don't disagree i'm just wondering what sells it?
Speaker 2 (37:34):
For you Because Of Al DAVIS and i know there
Was An al davis documentary or thirty for thirty put
out with his hologram and the, whole DEAL and i
actually thought it, was entertaining but just more of the
ins and Outs of OAKLAND to la to what it
meant TO the, la community Back, to oakland than Ultimately
To las vegas and all of the different characters that
(37:57):
were on, that team whether It Be kenny Stabler And
jack tatum in, the seventies whether it be in the
Eighties With, Lyle Alzado howie Long And, marcus allen what
transpired now, MOVING forward i Think the raiders would carry
enough cachet where you would step away from that and, Be, like.
Okay Wow and i'm Not a, raiders fan Just like
i'm Not a, celtics FAN but i at least think
(38:18):
That the raiders would give a. New perspective and you're
dealing with a fan base that is so unique THROUGHOUT
the nfl that would be a huge part, of it
WHICH is i feel like What these boston documentaries are also.
BASED in i Think the raiders fan base would give.
Speaker 4 (38:30):
You enough there's a lot of intrigue With the raiders and,
their HISTORY and i think that's what's missing here With.
The celtics there's not There's.
Speaker 2 (38:37):
No celtics, win, again, yeah exactly.
Speaker 4 (38:41):
Good. For, you like there's just no introg there's no
mysterious like side Of, the CELTICS and i feel like With,
THE raiders i would actually learn some things because they're
not in the news like the Like. The celtics, but
Yeah the, celtics like oh yeah they. Won, again, okay, great, yeah, no,
no there's. No intrigue there's intrigue With. THE raiders i give.
Speaker 2 (39:00):
You That, jason stewart you have a nomination for, A team.
Speaker 5 (39:03):
I do i do So the a's when they Moved. To,
oakland yeah if you think, About, it okay in, the
seventies they were owned by a Guy Named. Chuck Finley
chuck finley was a major player in the early days of.
Free agency he sold All his a's To the yankees
and all. That stuff And Then billy martin came in.
(39:24):
The eighties then they became the best team in baseball
in the, late eighties and then They had moneyball and
now they're Playing. IN sacramento i think there's an. Arc
there there's an Arc the a's since they Got.
Speaker 2 (39:35):
To oakland that is, a really really good suggestion because
also of The Personalities reggie jackson and others in that nineteen.
Seventy team you would know, the names you would know.
The faces the, nineteen eighties Just with Kinseko and.
Speaker 4 (39:49):
Maguire themselves like the decades Of, The a's they're all their. Own,
stories yes and.
Speaker 2 (39:55):
That's interesting some are great and some aren't they exactly
and then now this ultimate finish hear of them. Leaving
town oh what a, Great Nomination. Jason, STEWART yeah i
almost have to say in. First, PLACE yeah i know
that is. First, place, yes, yes great.

it could take a Variety Of eastern. EUROPEAN countries i
(41:10):
think that that could.
Speaker 1 (41:11):
Fit in it definitely feels like you're Living In eastern
europe sometimes when you live In the Midwest.
Speaker 2 (41:15):
In march how about how About, like scotland Maybe. Even
scotland it's it's the overcast sky that you pretty much
experienced through the entire Month. Of march We Asked iowa
sam of a Picture. Of iowa it took him twenty
four hours to produce what he produced on, social media
which is a picture with a scant covering, of snow
a shed and a tipped over. BASKETBALL hoop, i, mean.
Speaker 4 (41:37):
Like really that Could. Be, la okay like that it Could,
be yeah that.
Speaker 2 (41:41):
Could be the Middle of la maybe some cold temps and.
Some rain there would be a palm tree that.
Speaker 4 (41:48):
Is such A close the palm tree is just a
little off to. The side it could definitely. BE there
i feel like it's so just not Specific.
Speaker 3 (41:55):
Because western usa was that thing in the middle of,
the yard like a well.
Speaker 5 (41:59):
Or something.
Speaker 2 (42:01):
Is that? A well.
Speaker 7 (42:05):
Go.
Speaker 2 (42:05):

Speaker 1 (42:07):
Fire pit yes. It is it's a it's a cinder black.
Fire pit about as simple as it gets, economically good.
So Good but isaac seems to think that we seem
to think that we have open wells still In, the
midwest like we're living in the eighteen.
Speaker 4 (42:20):
EIGHTIES and i thought it was Well, to isaac is
that where.
Speaker 2 (42:23):

excuse to go to? Spring training especially in a Town,
like scottsdale which is a very, active town a lot
(43:54):
of different things, to do and, quite, frankly uh, you
Know if i'm going to try to get, my fiance
my bride to be to go on a weekend trip,
with me it's hard to sell spring training as an
option there's a lot of places that she would, rather
GO so i might as well take advantage of it
and use that as.
Speaker 2 (44:13):
MY bachelor i THINK it's i think it's a really.
SMART move i don't think you're the first one to,
do It but i'm glad that you. Did, it now

Two games we originally were going to See the Rangers
and Rockies on, friday night but, ironically enough that game was,
rained out as every other game In The cactus league Was,
on friday which is funny because that's all the whole
point of spring training Being in phoenix And in florida
is because the weather doesn't typically. Disrupt. It, yeah yeah so.
Speaker 2 (44:56):
As have played it in a Backyard in iowa and
exactly so we did not get to go. To that.

my Information to sky to include me in?

contact LIST and i guess he just kind of kind
of drew some names out of. A.
Speaker 2 (46:30):
HAT listen i know it sounds like, he's joking but
the guy does love a, nice beer, he does and
he does. Love baseball He's a. Dodger fan you Guys.
Talk dodgers how close was he to the cutoff of
making it or in, this case not making it to
your spring training? Bachelor party? You know was he even
(46:54):
getting consideration THAT maybe i Could Ask? Jason stewart but
and you, be like now we want to keep it
to like ten? Or? Twelve, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 6 (47:03):

we were still a bed short in, the airbnb so

Great, airben no.
Speaker 5 (47:13):
You're right they don't have blow. UP beds i couldn't
have brought my owner stop in. The car now here's.
My issue ryan and his his, Beautiful. Fiance audrey they
take up pretty like valuable real estate in. My home in,
my home when visitors, come over they go to the
refrigerator to grab a drink. Or something they see a
Picture of Ryan and audrey embracing with a save to save, the,
(47:38):
Date Right and, i'm thinking at the, very Least if
i'm going to take up that kind of real estate in,
MY home i could have been included in the. Bachelor
party but, that's fine Or the, Burschinger party, Burchelar party. Birchelor,
party yeah who else did you invite?
Speaker 2 (47:55):
FROM work i think a baseball? Podcast? TOGETHER yeah i.
Speaker 4 (48:00):
TOLD him i, was like WHY was i? NOT invited
i said it to his FACE though i didn't put
him on, the RADIO and i just said it in front.
OF bow i, was like WHY am i? Not invited?
Speaker 6 (48:08):
Too?
Speaker 4 (48:09):
MUCH people i FEEL like i would fit perfectly in
on this.
Speaker 2 (48:11):
First broadcast episode should be about. This trip. It, should
yeah it will just sits THERE.
Speaker 4 (48:16):
And i just sit there and not have any OPINION
because i. Wasn't there.

Thank You bo benson, was, there, yes.
Speaker 4 (48:23):
Yeah yeah that's what makes, it worse, saying, yeah yeah.
Speaker 2 (48:26):
He, was yeah. That's baseball you guys. Are boys you
stood up in, his, WEDDING right.
Speaker 6 (48:30):
I was i was actually an. Alternate, groovesman, okay yeah
so it.
Speaker 2 (48:35):
Wasn't neat you're on the forty, man, roster yeah twenty
five on. The, squad, YES yes i wasn't at, the
wedding so it was obviously just a wild shot in.
The dark so you're going to get off my back.
For this i'll. SAY this i didn't have like a true.
BACHELOR part i got MARRIED when i. Was forty BUT
what i did do with a couple, of buddies we
went on a golf trip.
Speaker 4 (48:55):
To that's your. Bachelor party that's very ran.
Speaker 2 (48:58):
For, you yes it ended up like being. That, part
now we weren't any wild and, crazy guys but the,
key is and this IS why i think spring training,
is important is to do the fun stuff in the
morning or, the afternoon so then you could do the
real fun stuff. At, night yeah and that that's that
did work out. That way, of course we were going
(49:19):
to go To that friday, night game but it was rained.
Out instead our plan was still too and you made
it rain somewhere else Right on. Friday, Night, YES dan
i know you would. Appreciate.
Speaker 6 (49:28):
It though we Went on friday Night to popstroke In.
Scotts sdale You Know, Pop, stroke, yes yes IT Is U,
it's TIGER but, i, Know, yeah Tiger it's tiger's a
mini golf courses and it's like it's an elaborate mini.
Golf course it looks like a legit eighteen whole course
that's shrunk down and it's designed to have drinks and
eat and and have a good time playing. Mini golf,
(49:50):
of course that Was the friday night of the. BACHELOR PARTY,
i i, YOU know i had been partaking throughout, the,
day sure and then we get to this the golf
course where there are spots to put your cups on every.
Single hole so uh enjoying that. As WELL and i
will say the the one sort Of odd i'm.
Speaker 2 (50:09):
Talking about pop stroke here people tuning in, just now
he's talking about playing a post In The greater.
Speaker 6 (50:15):
Phoenix AREA, UH i i, will say the the odd.
Design flaw maybe it's not. A flaw maybe they do it.
On purpose they they encourage you to drink a plenty
on this mini. Golf course it is, very hilly. You
know it is like there's a lot of a lot
of bumps and and and and real bunkers and things.
(50:35):
Like THAT AND I i i felt quite A.
Speaker 2 (50:38):
Fet yeah that's FUNNY because i never thought. OF that
i HAD never I don't i don't, drink ALCOHOL but
I so i never thought, of, it like, oh, great
yeah that you don't want to be tripping over things
on whole fifteen and then hitting your head on. A.
Speaker 6 (50:53):
Rock YES when I when i woke up the, NEXT
morning i genuinely thought my foot. Was broken my right
foot was in some of. Your PAIN but i had.
A blast it was a. Great Time and i'm sorry
to my BROTHER because i choked away our lead on the.
LAST hole i proceeded to five put the, last hole
which you know kind of makes sense given THE way
i was handling the.
Speaker 4 (51:13):
Entire course That's, a yes.
Speaker 2 (51:15):
That's a good sports bachelor. Party, Weekend YES like i
think it works. WITH golf i don't know if you're a,
hoops fan like what you? Would do maybe maybe, next
WEEK maybe. Ncuaa tournament THAT'S what i used to do in.
High school, my buddies we would go to the first
and second rounds of the NC double. A tournament if
you're a, baseball fan what better way to? Do, it
yeah and Be in phoenix when it doesn't rain.
Speaker 6 (51:39):

upcoming nuptials and any Apologies To jason stewart.
