Speaker 2 (00:43):
You're fired.

Speaker 4 (00:44):
Get out.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
If you're just watching that Braves Blue Jays game, it's
organic and jovial. The booth dudes were daring him on
to ask her for a number, basically classic peer pressure.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
I do think that's what happened.

Speaker 5 (00:56):
I don't think this guy was planning to do that,
and then all of a sudden he was.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
Like, oh can I do this? Is this my moment?

Speaker 2 (01:05):
He then asked their drink order and didn't write it
down and just went and got their drinks. Encompassing our
first hour here on Fox Sports Radio doing the Nico Harrison.

It's dead byer.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
Thank you very much.

Speaker 4 (02:26):
Don't worry about the crowd clapping press. We got this,
and in the other corner.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
Of a live studio audience.

Speaker 4 (02:33):
She loves her volleyball on Tuesday nights and her tequila
every night.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
Yes, MONSI, Hello, Hello, happy to be here.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
Shower's optional.

Speaker 4 (02:50):
This is also the game that former employee John Ramos
was asked if he wanted to participate, and his answer was,
I'll have to ask.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
Oh, good stuff.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
I do have to give us some background on this.
We started this a couple of years ago when Moncey
and I get together, and we've had variations of sometimes
it's me and I with Sam, sometimes it's it's me
and you doing this. Ryan Hans was a part of
the first one, first ever episode when we did it
with John Ramos, he did need clearance from Suzanne. Jason

(03:26):
is not lying to make sure that Suzanne did not
think that he and Monsey were actually not only a
couple but also newly West.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
Exactly, Yes, Ramos.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
That's we. We just used the game because it works
in this format.

Speaker 3 (03:43):
Absolutely, yes, all right, so.

Speaker 4 (03:44):
This is how this works. By the way, this is
my favorite game on this network. This is how this works.
We're gonna ask Dan Bayer a question previewing the NBA Playoffs.
Moncey has already pre recorded these answers.

Speaker 3 (03:59):
That is his not answering what is incorrect.

Speaker 4 (04:02):
That's what I meant. It's the exact ope, that's the
exact opposite. So I'm going to ask Monsey.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
That is correct.

Speaker 4 (04:11):
Damn Fire has recorded answer.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
They're already there. I already know what they are.

Speaker 4 (04:16):
Ye, here we go.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
This is previewing the NBA playoffs right by the way, and.

Speaker 3 (04:20):
Dan is supposed to try and guess what I.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
Am going to say, Yes, yes, not what my answer
would be.

Speaker 3 (04:25):
Well, yes, he's answering thinking for me, and that's how.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
You know if these newlyweds are compatible.

Speaker 3 (04:30):
Right right?

Speaker 4 (04:33):
Mancy? First question is multiple choice? Okay, how far will
the Golden State Warriors advance in the NBA Playoffs? Will
they lose in the play in tournament, will they lose
in the first route, lose in the semis finals, NBA Finals,
or they will win the title.

Speaker 5 (04:50):
I don't know if it's my belief in Yimmy Butler
as I'm wearing a Jimmy Bucket's Miami Heat shirt, and
my belief in.

Speaker 3 (04:57):
Steph Curry as the greatest shooter of all time.

Speaker 5 (05:00):
But I think the Warriors will lose in the conference finals.

Speaker 4 (05:05):
Wow. Interesting, what did Dan say?

Speaker 2 (05:09):
I think Monty's going to pick a happy medium. You
don't want to take the Warriors too far, but they're
not going to get bounced. So I'm going to say
Warriors lose in the conference semifinals.

Speaker 3 (05:21):
Now you're yeah, you're on it. You were right on it.
I believe in those I do believe in them.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
Same neighborhood, just not same street.

Speaker 4 (05:29):
Yeah, all right, a swing in the miss yeahounds to
me like Lisa's got nothing to worry about it.

Speaker 2 (05:38):
I think if they win tonight, they can beat the Rockets,
and then you're like, okay, maybe they face the.

Speaker 3 (05:44):
Lakers, and I think they can think they could beat.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
The Lakers, and I just thought there was somewhere in
between there.

Speaker 3 (05:50):
Yeah, I think they could beat the Lakers totally.

Speaker 4 (05:53):
Hey, Manzi, Yes, the best first round series in the
East is going to be And these are your options
Cleveland verse seven, eight, nine, ten, Indiana verse Milwaukee, the
Knicks versus Detroit or Boston verse seven or eight.

Speaker 5 (06:12):
I think there's two options here. Even though I'm not
very excited about the East. I'm not gonna lie, but
in this first round, the best series is going to
be the Knicks and the Pistons.

Speaker 4 (06:29):
Looks like Chris already weighed in on his answer. What
did Dan Byer say?

Speaker 2 (06:34):
No doubt, it's going to be a complete bandwagon. Everybody
is going to be wrapped up in the big markets.
Manzie is going to fall victim to it as well.
She's gonna pick Nicks Pistons.

Speaker 3 (06:48):
Alright, yield it nicely done.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
Yes, I think the Bucks could surprise some people.

Speaker 3 (06:55):
We'll see, hey Monsey, Yes, tell me, by.

Speaker 2 (06:59):
The way, it's one that's one one correct?

Speaker 3 (07:02):
Yes?

Speaker 4 (07:03):
What higher seeded team one through four should be on
upset alert in the first round of the playoffs?

Speaker 5 (07:12):
In the first round of the playoffs? Okay, let me,
I gotta visually see this for a second. Oh thank
you, you printed it out even better?

Speaker 3 (07:20):
All right? I think?

Speaker 2 (07:25):
And this is any high like, yeah, one through four
seed up.

Speaker 5 (07:30):
So I do think the upset is the Houston Rockets
should probably be the one that that is.

Speaker 3 (07:40):
Should be on upset alerts. My final answer, yes, what
did Dan say?

Speaker 2 (07:46):
Not only will she say the Denver Nuggets is the
four seed because they're playing her Clippers. She's gonna say, duh,
Denver Nuggets. I thought I was so sure on that
that she would look on that and it would be biased.

Speaker 5 (08:00):
Mancy, Listen, you're not wrong because the Clippers are Clippers
and five, but I think that your heart is.

Speaker 3 (08:09):
Bigger upset. Two seed is a bigger upset. The understand
who is higher than four? Who is the bigger upset?

Speaker 4 (08:17):
Dan's right, there literally is a heart surrounding the newlywed game.

Speaker 2 (08:22):
Literally, it's not a brain. It's not an outline of
a brain, Monsey.

Speaker 4 (08:28):
So you guys are back underwater one and two.

Speaker 3 (08:31):
Right, We're good. We're chilling, hey, Manzi, Yes, yes.

Speaker 4 (08:34):
Who will be the best player in the Lakers t
Wolve series?

Speaker 2 (08:39):
All right?

Speaker 5 (08:40):
So his if history repeats itself, Anthony Edwards tends to
lock up Luka Doncic. And that's why I'm going to
take Anthony Edwards to be the best player in that
Lakers Timberwolve series.

Speaker 4 (08:54):
And what did Dan say?

Speaker 2 (08:55):
The best player in the Lakers Timberwolve series is really
only down to three. It's too obvious Anthony Edwards would
be a stretch. Lucas the popular vote. Luka Dancic, What
are you talking about? Anthony Edwards was gassed in the
Western Finals last year. He stuck a knife in his
cart twice in that series.

Speaker 3 (09:17):
That series. Let's talk this year. Let's talk this year.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
This is the playoffs.

Speaker 4 (09:22):
Wow, so we've got three losses.

Speaker 2 (09:25):
Actually, this should be called the divorce game because that's
where we're headed right.

Speaker 3 (09:28):
Now, filing the paperwork as we see.

Speaker 4 (09:34):
Next question on the annulment game.

Speaker 6 (09:36):
What did you say listening to Vince McMahon yell at him.

Speaker 2 (09:41):
Okay, all right, how big Mike serve you?

Speaker 4 (09:47):
Hey Manzi? How many first round series will go seven games?

Speaker 3 (09:53):
I'll tell you right now, there's eight total.

Speaker 5 (09:58):
Yeah, I'm going to say in the first round there
will be three series that go to seven games.

Speaker 2 (10:05):
And wanted Dan say this is a good question because
we don't know all of the first round series. But
I know she's going to pick a number not too high.
We're going to say two series number two, same neighborhood,
not same street. Big swing a miss, Gosh, I don't
think it was a big swing in a miss.

Speaker 4 (10:28):
I've got one right for wrong than you need to
get the next three.

Speaker 3 (10:33):
We got it.

Speaker 4 (10:33):
We got it just to get to five hundred.

Speaker 2 (10:35):
Sam and I did way better. I feel on college
football like we were we were we were like Sonny
and Cher like we were like we were on Yeah,
we were together, we were in the whole deal.

Speaker 4 (10:47):
It was by far the most romantic game we've ever done.
All Right, Question number six, who will get the most
technicals in the NBA playoffs?

Speaker 5 (10:57):
Monci Oh, This one is tough because I want to
say Dylan Brooks, but I think the Rockets won't get
past the first round. And so if we get logical
here as to who was going to play more games?

Speaker 3 (11:20):
Anthony Edwards.

Speaker 5 (11:22):
Anthony Edwards, Well, that kind of goes flies in the
face of your logic.

Speaker 3 (11:27):
Yep, no, because I think you just picked.

Speaker 2 (11:30):
Five questions ago. You picked Golden State to make it
to the conference finals.

Speaker 5 (11:33):
But I think that game is going to go to seven.
I don't think the Rockets.

Speaker 4 (11:37):
Goes to I'm sure Bob you Banks would have not
allowed this kind of talking out of an answer before
the answer was revealed. What a Dan Byer side.

Speaker 2 (11:45):
No doubt about it. Draymond Green, even if they don't
make it as far.

Speaker 3 (11:49):
Iechnic, No, Draymond's not gonna do that. This year.

Speaker 2 (11:52):
He's not gonna do that, definitely won't that. Does we
have this year thirteen tied for seventh best in the NBA?
How many does nineteen?

Speaker 6 (12:02):
But if Thenthey Edwards is only playing six games because
they're losing six to the Lakers in the first round,
and Draymond's got a playing game and according to you,
three more playoff series, he'd probably have more technical fouls.

Speaker 3 (12:15):
I bet you Draymond doesn't even get one.

Speaker 2 (12:16):
I appreciate your thought process on it. I just don't
think you think you're thinking this all through. That's that's all.

Speaker 3 (12:23):
That's what happens when you do this on the spot.

Speaker 4 (12:25):
So just like the Charlotte Hornets, you guys have no
chance of getting to five hundred, thank you without Cooper
Flack number seven. MONTI, Yes, what time zone or zones
will the NBA Finals be played in?

Speaker 2 (12:42):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (12:42):
They will be played in What are mountain? Was the
one not between A but between us and not Eastern
mountain time? What mountain time?

Speaker 1 (12:51):
You got Eastern, Satral Mountain and Pacific.

Speaker 3 (12:55):
It's gonna be mountain?

Speaker 2 (12:56):
Well, there's there's what's that It's gonna be.

Speaker 5 (12:59):
Mountain because it's Eastern Central Central is that Mountain?

Speaker 1 (13:03):
No, there's Eastern Central Mountain Pacific.

Speaker 4 (13:06):
Now, now let's think about this. Hold on before you answer.
So there's going to be two teams participating, So the
option to give two, right, So if you're thinking Mountain
for one, that only includes the West, right, So you
have to give an East if you do Mountain.

Speaker 3 (13:20):
You know, but I feel like Pacific would be too
late for the East.

Speaker 2 (13:26):
Well, if.

Speaker 1 (13:29):
All of the teams from the Easter are either on
the Eastern or Central time correct, that was my point.

Speaker 3 (13:33):
Right, But I'm saying they're not.

Speaker 5 (13:35):
We're they're not going to wait to play, like even
the Pacific teams are not going to play that late.

Speaker 2 (13:41):
Because we're not talking about the actual tip off of
the game. We're just talking about where the teams are located.

Speaker 3 (13:45):
Oh I miss.

Speaker 1 (13:47):
Question, was representing with like where their city is?

Speaker 4 (13:49):
That's the time?

Speaker 3 (13:50):
Oh, you guys, I misunderstood the question.

Speaker 5 (13:52):
I apologize. I misunderstood the question. The NBA Finals will be.

Speaker 3 (13:57):
Played in.

Speaker 5 (14:01):
Pacific because the Clippers are going to the finals and
and the East.

Speaker 4 (14:08):
And what did Dan Byer say?

Speaker 2 (14:09):
Monty's going to say the Eastern time zone and the
Central time zone I'll tell you what. I am crying
tears as a newlywed of sadness over that explanation of
a question. I am crying tears of joy as a
question writer, because that is exactly what I thought would

(14:31):
happen in the the confusion of the time zones, like
Mountain Nuggets are the only team that play in Mountain
that are still in the postseasons, right, we wouldn't keep that.

Speaker 5 (14:41):
But again, I thought it was like, when are the
games going to start?

Speaker 3 (14:44):
Most likely that's what I missing.

Speaker 1 (14:46):
That's wait, are there any West teams in the Central
time zone?

Speaker 4 (14:51):
Is Memphis?

Speaker 2 (14:52):
Central, Minnesota?

Speaker 4 (14:54):
Central?

Speaker 5 (14:54):
Ye?

Speaker 2 (14:54):
Houston?

Speaker 4 (14:55):
Yes, Houston, Antonio? Yeah, I knew Houston. Yeah, so you
think that Oklahoma City and Cleveland? Is that what you're
going for? Dan, we'll find out, oh the next new game.
Hopefully those newwods will be better at this than you
guys are. Okay, number eight, you guys are one and six.

Speaker 3 (15:17):
Yeah, we're really good. We're really good.

Speaker 4 (15:19):
I'll tell you what I'm gonna make this. I'm gonna
make this last one worth four points, all right, and
you'll still be under a five.

Speaker 3 (15:26):
That's all right, that's right.

Speaker 4 (15:28):
Who wins the NBA title in June.

Speaker 3 (15:31):
Monse, you guys are gonna call me crazy.

Speaker 5 (15:33):
The Clippers are going to beat the Celtics in the finals. Really,
that's the Clippers are going to beat the Celtics in
the finals.

Speaker 2 (15:39):
Stop it, get some help.

Speaker 3 (15:42):
Yeah, I know, but it's it's happening. It's happening, is
what to dance.

Speaker 2 (15:48):
I think your head probably says to pick Boston, but
her heart's going to say Oklahoma City. So she's going
to pick the Thunder to win the NBA title in June.

Speaker 5 (15:55):
Ye, Clippers will bounce Thunder. They're going to go to
Western Finals and then they're going to go to the finals.

Speaker 2 (16:03):
At least it makes sense with your time zone answer.
Oh yeah, that's at least. What I'm happy is you
picked East and Pacific.

Speaker 5 (16:10):
Absolutely because I didn't think Thunder we're gonna get there, correct,
So that's where yeah, yeah, yeah, Clippers are going.

Speaker 3 (16:16):
Guys, I'm going to the finals.

Speaker 2 (16:17):
We are the Washington Wizards of newlywed couples. When it
comes to an NBA Playoffs preview. Why out of every eight,
we're gonna we're gonna get right.

Speaker 4 (16:28):
You guys will have the most balls in the NBA Water. Yes,
it that way perfect.

Speaker 3 (16:35):
Dallas Wings if they don't move to Buffalo, remember that.

Speaker 2 (16:41):
If they don't move to Buffalo, I'll say this. I
think that your Warriors guess was fair. Is it talked about?

Speaker 3 (16:50):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (16:51):
First round series. I think a lot of people are
looking forward to Nick's Pistons. Yeah, totally good with that
upset alert. I think there could be a lot of
I think so too.

Speaker 3 (17:00):
And I went with Houston just because they were the
two seed. Do you go what up?

Speaker 5 (17:03):
I gets the Clippers are going to upset the Nuggets
if you just went with the higher seed.

Speaker 2 (17:07):
I think Lakers Timberwolves is the best series in the
first round. It's the one that I'm most excited to
watch that doesn't include my Milwaukee Bucks. And the most
technicals again here right. Anthony Edwards led the NBA with nineteen,
Dylan Brooks at eighteen, But your point about Dylan Brooks
not advancing far would would make sense. Jason Tatum and
Isaiah Stewart, Shack's favorite piston center, tied for third with

(17:30):
fifteen technicals.

Speaker 3 (17:32):
Oh, I didn't think about him.

Speaker 2 (17:34):
But with Draymond going you know far, that's where I
thought that it could could play.

Speaker 5 (17:38):
Out he can't do it, or else they're not going
to be successful. If Draymond gets any technicals and gets suspended,
then you got to you gotta get rid of that
guy after the season, because then he just doesn't understand
how important he is to their success.

Speaker 4 (17:53):
I think for years people are going to be breaking
down Monsey's mentality during the time zone question. What was
she going for? What was she thinking? For years are
going to be discussing that one.

Speaker 3 (18:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (18:06):
Well, you know, as someone who's only lived on the
West Coast, I don't think of time zones like that literally,
but I misunderstood the question, and then once I got it,
I thought it was going to be Boston and La.

Speaker 2 (18:18):
You have now got to experience this from both sides.
This is my first time recording answers when we do this.

Speaker 3 (18:23):
Game, right, Yeah, ive never.

Speaker 2 (18:25):
It's a lot more comfortable just trying to guess what
someone's going to say than trying to guess what someone
thinks you're going to say. Yeah, and in her spot,
even though we have the questions beforehand, you're still in
the moment trying to think at that time of what
you have and you may have had preconceived notions, but
then you start thinking of a process. It's a lot different.
Me sitting back and hearing my answers was great, but

(18:47):
when you're in your seat, completely different experience.

Speaker 5 (18:50):
It is a different experience, and you feel like you
got to answer quickly.

Speaker 3 (18:54):
You feel like there's a timer on you. Yes, like
there's a timer.

Speaker 5 (18:57):
On you, and you're like, oh my gosh, I'm gon
run out of time to not give an answer.

Speaker 2 (19:01):
You Well, our washer and dryer will go to Isaac
and Chris Perfett. So we hope that you guys enjoy it,
and very much for u.

Speaker 3 (19:08):
Welcome.

Speaker 4 (19:08):
I'll take the washer, you take the dryer, Chris.

But yeah, things starting to starting to bubble up. Exactly
get a little more than a week away from what
is a great, great night.

Speaker 5 (20:45):
Yeah, I'm looking forward to it because I think we
think we know what's going to happen, but I don't know.

Speaker 3 (20:50):
There may be some surprises.

Speaker 2 (20:52):
It's kind of like the NBA Playing Tournament. That's a
perfect segues. I think that the NBA had an idea
of what they wanted with the play in tournament, and
I don't know if it's turned out to be that exactly.
I think that they wanted to add excitement, but I
don't think people are excited about tonight's games or tomorrow's games.

(21:14):
But I will say this, I think it's better than
just having a week off or ending the season on
a Tuesday and then starting the playoffs on a Saturday.
I do think that it gives some just something throughout
the week for us to be locked into. I don't
mind the expansion as much. I am not a hater

(21:36):
on the playing tournament as some are.

Speaker 5 (21:38):
I'm with you, I'm not a hater. I'm not just
fully for it either. Like for example, if you look
at the Western Conference, if I'm the Warriors and I'm
the Grizzlies, I'm annoyed that I have to do this
when the Kings are eight games behind me, When the
Mavericks are more than that ten games behind me on

(21:58):
the East.

Speaker 3 (21:59):
It's like the records are a little bit close, closer.

Speaker 5 (22:02):
So I guess like in theory, I wouldn't maybe be
as annoyed, But if I'm Warriors or Grizzlies, I'm like
annoyed that I have to go through that.

Speaker 2 (22:09):
It's funny and I understand what you're saying, and I
don't think that you're wrong. I look at the Warriors
being annoyed because of where the teams above them are,
and the same thing obviously with the Grizzlies, because it's
similar now they ended up with identical records and they
were a game back in Minnesota. Who's the sixth seed
and the rules of the rules, and that's the way

(22:31):
it is. And if Golden State can win tonight, then
they'd be where they would have been if the playoffs
would have started at this point, and that's in the
seventh seed facing Memphis. What I find interesting about these
conversations is what does the league want and what do
fans want? Because if you're a fan of this, yeah,

(22:54):
I wouldn't love that my Warriors team would have to
play tonight just to get into the postseason. Understand all
of that, but as a fan of basketball, I think
it adds value if you're the NBA. I actually think
this is the part that contradicts what the NBA tries
to do, and the NBA really hopes that their best

(23:16):
teams can make it to the end, and it's why
they expanded. They didn't expand from five games to seven
games for more TV revenue in the first round. Sure,
they like the extra games, but they're also on cable
and game seven is more pizaz than a game five,
so that helps. But it's also the fact of you
want to make sure that your number one seed is

(23:37):
the best opportunity to come out of each round, or
give your better team, whether it be a one seed
or a two seed, the most opportunities to make it
through so you have a strong playoffs. Now, it doesn't
always happen that way. We've seen upsets before. We saw
the Key as an eight seed a couple of years
ago make it all the way to the NBA Finals.
That was a unique run for Miami and each of

(23:58):
their games was unique. And then when they got to
the NBA Finals against Denver, it was a bit of
a clunker, but This kind of flies in the face
of that Maazi that they're putting Jahn Morant and Steph
Curry at risk not only of injury, but just of
being bounced from the playoffs with two bad nights this week.
That that's what contradicts the league's portion of this. I
think when you're looking at the play in tournament.

Speaker 5 (24:19):
Yeah, because it does get competitive at the end of
the regular season. But then okay, here we are, it's
actual the play in tournament, and you're right, Okay, let's
say I think the Warriors win tonight, but let's say
the Grizzlies have a bad game in the next one
and they get bounced that. I don't know if the
league or the fans of the NBA necessarily want to
see the Kings or the Mavericks, who obviously are not

(24:41):
at full strength over the Grizzlies, you know, and so
it might backfire on them. But they what they want
is more competitive games, which is what the fans want.
And it does you do get that at the end
of the season. I mean, the Western Conference was a
mess until the very end. Sure, so we got it there,
but then the play in tournament, it's like, I don't
I have mixed feelings, like I'm not against it, but

(25:03):
I don't always love it.

Speaker 3 (25:04):
And I think that's what's happening.

Speaker 2 (25:06):
I feel that they're robbing Peter to pay Paul essentially
where your regular season. That's how it turned out this year.
This year, so the regular season was the benefit, but
now maybe this week isn't the huge benefit exactly.

Speaker 5 (25:18):
And it changes year to year, you know, like it's
not always like this, but right now kind of sucks.

Speaker 2 (25:24):
That's the important part of it is it isn't always
like this. And I think what the NBA did do though,
they did accomplish something because the NBA had a problem
with the middle of the league, the eight seed. If
you remember in years past, and your Clippers were one
of the teams that actually said, screw it, we're going
to go for the playoffs, even though we're likely to

(25:44):
get bounced in the first round. But teams were having
the decision, do we really want to make the playoffs?
Do we really want to be an eight seed? Or
would we rather be put in the lottery. And even
if it's a zero point five chance of having the
first over pick, it's a better chance than having a
zero point zero percent chance, and teams also in the

(26:06):
middle of the NBA were really getting squeezed because they
were in a spot where they liked. They weren't landing
the first overall pick, so then they're picking thirteenth. So
they're not necessarily improving their team via the draft because
of the depth of talent in these drafts, but they're
also not as marquee or maybe a desirable of a

(26:27):
location for players to go to. So you're just sitting
there in forty one and forty one land it feels like,
and I know that the West is obviously stronger than
the East, and forty one and forty one is seventh
seed right now in the Eastern Conference, but I do
think that it gave them a battle in the regular
season to fight for that. When you look at the

(26:47):
line of demarcation, it's pretty significant. Especially in the Eastern conferences,
teams are either saying we're gonna mean the playing tournament
or we're just gonna crap out. And that gives you
basically ten teams each year that are saying at the
end of the year they're tapping out and they really
don't care. I mean, that's how you explain a seven
game gap between the tenth seed and the eleventh seed
in the East, and it sure seems like in the

(27:09):
West that Phoenix tapped out for a while. Portland maybe
played some good ball at the second half of the year.
Chauncey Billups has got a contract the extension. They're a
younger team, and if they made the play in tournament, great,
But realistically I do think that they're at that ten
spot now. Teams are like, okay playing tournament. Sometimes you
just get there by default because they're the other five

(27:31):
teams in their conference don't feel like competing. So that's
that's a unique aspect of it as well as I
think we're just getting some a lot of teams kind
of mailing it in at the end of the year
because they just don't have any interest even being in
the play in tournament.

Speaker 5 (27:46):
But that was happening before the play in tournament too,
I felt like very early on. Again, I think if
I had it, like if you told me pick right
out play in tournament or no, like take it back,
I think I would keep it in. Because before the
play in tournament, I out that several teams threw in
the towel way early in the season, at least now.
Maybe they're throwing the towel in closer to the end

(28:08):
of the season, so I don't feel it as much.

Speaker 3 (28:10):
I feel like.

Speaker 2 (28:11):
Fourteen teams as opposed to ten.

Speaker 3 (28:13):
Yeah, maybe, yeah, I feel like I would.

Speaker 5 (28:17):
I still i'd keep it, even though there are flaws
to it. I think i'd keep it. It's given us
some good matchups, some fun games. Yeah, throughout the how
long has it been around four years, five years?

Speaker 2 (28:31):
Yeah, something like that. I could have just said yeah
and been good with it, but it has been around
that time, and we've seen Lakers Warriors games, We've seen
stuff be bounced, We've seen John Morant have a breakout
game in a in a playing tournament game, and I
think that's that's what this week is about. On the
grand scheme, I don't think that it affects the NBA
as much, but in the regular season and in the

(28:53):
grand scheme of how the playoff bracket shapes out, like
the Heat didn't go on their run because they played
in the playing game. Sometimes you think that happens at
the NCAA tournament when you play in the first four
and you're one of those eleven seeds. We've seen UCLA
go to a final four. We saw VC you do
it fourteen years ago. That it gives teams momentum heading
into the tournament. Does not do that for the NBA,

(29:13):
not in the seven game series and not how it's
laid out. But it does at least give us interest
to watch Steph Curry and John Morant go ahead to head.

Speaker 5 (29:20):
Absolutely, And you know it's funny because I do think
the Warriors ending in the plan in the situation, they're
in a better position playing the Rockets, I think than
if they would have had to deal with another team
the first round. Like, I think the Warriors control their
destiny for sure in the first round against the Rockets.

Speaker 2 (29:40):
It'll be a fun series. Jason Sewart says, this version
of it started in twenty twenty. Full time, it started
in twenty twenty two.

Speaker 3 (29:47):
Okay, yeah, so we've about you know that makes sense,
that makes sense.

Speaker 2 (29:50):
Yes, So the fourth year of this version, in the
sixth year of the adopted because the twenty twenty season
was the bubble, right right right, Yeah, she's want to belanio.
So I'm dan Byer for a look ahead to the
playing tournament and so much more. Let's go to the
news desk live from the tire X dot Com studios.
It's like me paying for Paramount plus just for the

(30:10):
two extra hours of Masters coverage on Saturday and Sunday.

Speaker 1 (30:14):
She really not. Yeah, both were fully worth it.

Speaker 2 (30:19):
But you didn't see one shot that the leaders hit
because they weren't on during that window. They were on
when CBS took over, which I was fully aware of.
I knew what happened. I still wanted to watch anyway.
But she bought twitter x Premium for that reason. We
all have her own reasons for making purchases.

Speaker 3 (30:39):
Did you also fall to your knees when Rory McElroy
won it?

Speaker 4 (30:43):
No?

Speaker 2 (30:43):
But it was very emotional, and I said that I
felt bad for Justin Rose. I think golf fans felt
bad for Justin Rose. Yeah, I know. Jason Stewart was
cheering for Justin Rose. There were some loud collaps, there
was some excitement. I didn't cry, but like you like
you get that like an emotional act, sort of like

(31:04):
you know, like all right, this is gonna happen, and
then yeah it was.

Speaker 5 (31:08):
And the best shot was when he's on the floor
and the people are cheering, no phones, just cheering and
like they can't believe it.

Speaker 3 (31:16):
That was such a good shot.

Speaker 2 (31:17):
Everybody's done the no phones topic. By the way, I
think even Camino enriched it. I did. Yeah, that's the
way of talking about golf, going back to no phones.
It's the masters end.

Speaker 3 (31:26):
Up loving I love that shot.

Speaker 2 (31:28):
Do you see Ken Graffy Junior's photo?

Speaker 3 (31:30):
Yes, I did.

Speaker 5 (31:30):
Yeah, it wasn't the one with the people in the background,
but yes, Ken Griffy Junior.

Speaker 3 (31:34):
I mean, listen, don't quit your famer Hall of Fame photographer.

Speaker 5 (31:38):
Don't quit your day job, or do as Ken Griffy
did and found another one.

Speaker 1 (31:42):
If I had a nickel every time a Hall of
Fame Baseball player became a sports photographer, I'd have two nickels.
It's not a lot, but it's kind of funny that
it's twice. It happened twice.

Speaker 2 (31:51):
Randy Johnson, Yeah, yes, yeah, he's at NFL games. If
that was trying to up me, like like we wouldn't know, so.

Speaker 4 (31:56):
Then we would be like, no, I was trying to.

Speaker 2 (32:00):
Was that And then you would say, well, guys, it's
Randy Johnson. You didn't think most people know who Randy Johnson.
They knew that he was a photographer, though I don't
think Bones might have.

Speaker 1 (32:10):
Brought over by a football player at a game one time.

Speaker 2 (32:13):
Maybe maybe Bones. Mackay, Filmmakers's former caddie, has also done
stuff running film back and forth. Yeah times think in
Arizona at the Fiesta Bowl and maybe Super Bowls. He's
done that as well, but photography and sports becoming one.
She is Monty Blagos. I'm Dan Bayer. Tonight I do
something that I haven't done I think in a decade.

(32:35):
We'll tell you what it is next year on Cavino
and Rich on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 7 (32:39):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Doug Gottlieb
Show weekdays at three pm Eastern noon Pacific on Fox
Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 2 (32:49):
It's Cavino and Rich here on Fox Sports Radio. I'm
Dan Byer. She's Monty Belangos in Forgiving and rich or
in for Dan Patrick. We'll be back in I believe
again tomorrow morning. I'll be here for the guys tomorrow
to me and Ryan Hollins. Tomorrow night, you're gonna be
at the news desk for a while during the Odd
couple then you and Jason Smith is Mike Carmen's off for.

Speaker 1 (33:11):
A few nights.

Speaker 3 (33:12):
I get to be the best friend.

Speaker 2 (33:13):
Yes, you can be the best'll be.

Speaker 3 (33:14):
The best friend.

Speaker 5 (33:15):
I also think I am an ass man, but I
don't think I'm the well dressed hobo.

Speaker 3 (33:20):
So I'll take the other two.

Speaker 2 (33:22):
Though, well, I uh, I wish you well. He just
walked into.

Speaker 5 (33:29):
It a man, and that I'm not a well dressed
I don't understand.

Speaker 2 (33:33):
He's good. What's the well dressed hobo?

Speaker 3 (33:40):
That's It's what Mike Harmon.

Speaker 5 (33:42):
Mike Carmon is the best friend, the well dressed hobo,
and he's an assman.

Speaker 3 (33:46):
There you go. Those are the things that are dropped
all the time on the show.

Speaker 2 (33:49):
He's just Harmon to me.

Speaker 3 (33:51):
Yeah, so he's all those other things on the show.
And I'll take two of the three.

Speaker 1 (33:54):
Sure, I'd like to spank your bald head and wicked
there we go.

Speaker 3 (33:58):
See, so I'll be taking over for that, gentleman.

Speaker 2 (34:00):
I could do that with Jason Stewart, but Jason as Harry,
he doesn't have a bald head. Because he's very kind
to me, offering me up a ticket for tonight's game
between the Dodgers and Rockies at Dodger Stadium on Jackie Robinson.
I know, going with Jason Stewart SI to Chavez Ravine

(34:21):
and it was a process a few days in the making.

Speaker 4 (34:24):
The greatest place on Earth, my favorite place to be,
my happy place, and I want to share it with
Dan Bayer. And we're going to get out there real
early so we could get the giveaway, which is the jersey,
of course, and then I'm going to have a couple
of Bruskies in me. Dan, I'll have a couple of
Mountain Dews, and I'm to take our seat.

Speaker 2 (34:41):
Have Coker Pepsi products at Dodger Stadium.

Speaker 3 (34:44):
I don't know. I don't drink so of there.

Speaker 2 (34:47):
Well, you would know if it would say I think,
Isaac says coke.

Speaker 4 (34:51):
I think it's pepsi. Sounds familiar.

Speaker 3 (34:53):
Why does it sound familiar?

Speaker 4 (34:54):
Okay, I think it is a pepsi product.

Speaker 2 (34:56):
I told Jason I wanted to do the pepsi challenge
here on the show. Someday we're eating.

Speaker 3 (35:00):
Pepsi and coke and you tell us the difference.

Speaker 2 (35:02):
That's correct, That's as simple as it is. Okay, maybe
next week.

Speaker 3 (35:06):
I would I yeah, I would like to partake in that.

Speaker 2 (35:08):
Okay. Point being we're going to a ball game tonight, and.

Speaker 4 (35:11):
You're not a you're not really a baseball fan per se.
You've lived in this market for a long time and
you've been to maybe one or two games total. I
think because what you were saying, I've.

Speaker 2 (35:20):
Been to a I would say I've been to about
ten Dodger games. I just haven't been in like ten years.

Speaker 4 (35:24):
Oh okay, But as Monci will attest the renovations of
the stadium, it looks completely different. You're gonna love it.

Speaker 6 (35:31):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (35:31):
I told him.

Speaker 5 (35:32):
I was like, well, when you were there, there was
a smoking section full of dirt, so things are going
to look different for him today.

Speaker 2 (35:38):
Here's the deal. I don't want to deal with traffic.
What you're going to do and alp and then you
add on to what you deal with traffic going to
the game. I just accepted, Jason says, not the biggest
baseball fan, so the game doesn't matter to me. Yeah,
I mean, and the Rockies are in town, so okay,
you know, so obviously it doesn't matter to me. Uh,
I wouldn't. You're not saying like, man, I'm not gonna
go to that game because I went for the Rockies

(35:59):
to come in down like that. That doesn't happen. But
tonight is Jackie Robinson Night, and you're there to go
see the Dodgers, the home team play. But I made
my top five reasons for going for ending what I
think is a decade drought. I've gone a bunch of
different ballparks. Actually, you know what, I think. The last
game I went to was a Pirates game in twenty sixteen,
Pirates and Giants. Who's the week of the US Open?

(36:20):
And I left in the sixth inning.

Speaker 3 (36:22):
Nice.

Speaker 2 (36:23):
Top five reasons for me going tonight. Number five was
why not?

Speaker 3 (36:26):
Why not?

Speaker 2 (36:27):
Why not?

Speaker 3 (36:28):
Sure?

Speaker 2 (36:29):
Number four? I like that we have pretty good seats, right, Jason,
pretty good seats.

Speaker 4 (36:32):
It's very good seats. Not mine, a good friend of
mine who's got a little bit of cash.

Speaker 3 (36:36):
Nice.

Speaker 2 (36:37):
It was also a Tuesday, which was twofold. Number one.
Maybe it'll be a little bit easier at the ballpark
to get around, I'm not sure. But also it doesn't
take up my weekend day like going on a Saturday
or Sunday. I feel like I'm free. Number two Jackie
Robinson Night. I like sports moments in history, and I'm
what better place to be than Dodger Stadium on Jackie Right.

Speaker 4 (36:56):
I invited you. I said, would you like to go?
If you say know it's racist.

Speaker 2 (37:01):
And number one, just having a good time with Jason.

Speaker 3 (37:05):
Yes, so the romance. Yes, night out for the fellas.

Speaker 2 (37:09):
We could sit there's Can you believe MASSI didn't understand
the time zone question?

Speaker 3 (37:12):
Yes, exactly, Mountain thank you.

Speaker 2 (37:15):
I did not know that only the Jazz, Suns and
Nuggets would be Mountain time in the NBA. Well that's
for another day though.

Speaker 3 (37:25):
That is for yeah, geography not my suit. Let's go Dyers,
