Speaker 2 (00:16):
On the iHeartRadio app by searching FSR. Hey, what's up, Buddies?

Speaker 3 (00:24):
Hey, what's up? Man?

Speaker 1 (00:25):
Got a Belanos on the Update today Danny g Ryan
and Mansi. I hear this is like the rude thing
you could say to women you should smile more? Wrong camera, Hi, Manzi, Oh.

Speaker 4 (00:37):
Yeah, I know. That's one of the worst things.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
I've seen so many women on social media be like
the grossest thing a guy could say is you should
smile more.

Speaker 4 (00:44):
I've had that literally, like random men come up to
me that is mind your business. Mind your business, especially
because you guys know me, I'm always smiling, right, So
it's like when a stranger says that to me, there's
something oddly condescending and so rude.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
So guys, just a stranger a lesson learned one minut
it into the show. You could tell me because you
know me, it'll be different.

Speaker 3 (01:03):
But a stranger.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
If you're trying to dick and that's the you know,
what do you say too, rich?

Speaker 1 (01:07):
I always hear they you look tired, like that's something
people want to hear. Ever, but it's like, ugly, shut
your mouth, guys, I'm helping your game.

Speaker 5 (01:15):
Guys, what you shouldn't be saying to women during the
break I'll tell you that it's much worse than that.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
But let me tell you that just a little lesson
learned two minutes into the show. If you try to
kick it to a girl at a bar anywhere and
you try to be kind, it's not flirty, your friendly
to tell a girl you should smile more.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
Now, no, woman, it's not gonna work something.

Speaker 4 (01:34):
If you're saying it with a smile, don't say that.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
Well, you know what I'll say, Manci, you have a
great smile. Always bad when you're here. Sexy Ryan is
sexier than ever and DG sexiest voice in all of radio.
On the phone today seven ninety nine on Fox. Danny
G super producer and we have lots to get to today.
We're gonna talk Kobe and Jordan. What do they have

(01:56):
in common besides their game on the court. Kobe and
Jordan plus Iron Mike Trivia to get the week going.
I was giving away prizes today a little Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
Is he crazy? Can we do around to that today? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (02:11):
Absolutely, there's an Aaron Rodgers sort of update of his craziness.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
But lots of football today, because what's the count?

Speaker 3 (02:18):
Rich?

Speaker 2 (02:18):
Is it like ten days? I don't know. I'm not
good with math. My math isn't mathing. Is it ten days? One, two, three,
four or five, six, seven, eight nine? Ten? Ten days? Days?

Speaker 1 (02:29):
It feels like just a few days ago we were saying.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
Just twenty ten days now.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
So since we're all excited about that, some of us
steal in baseball mode too. And that's okay. I told
my kids yesterday, because you know me, I'm all about
lessons with the kids.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
I'm like kids, if you like sports, like dad.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
You're all about stealing their snacks. This is one of
the best times of the year. You got Pennant races
going on in baseball. Football is about to begin. I
always feel like late September, about a month from now right,
were entering the time where when football is like a
few weeks in and you're also really honed in on
baseball playoffs. That might be my favorite time of the

(03:08):
sports calendar. It's a good one for sure, and you
got some good fights coming up. So it's a great
time for sports.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
So think about it.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
If your team is in the baseball mix, like MANSI
you're a Dodgers fan, right, what better than Dodgers baseball
in the postseason?

Speaker 2 (03:24):
Oh yeah?

Speaker 1 (03:24):
And then when you're not watching Dodgers baseball, the NFL
on and college football. It really is like a great
time for sports fans.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
Is this October? I think like September. October is like yeah,
and the races in.

Speaker 4 (03:35):
Football October for sure, and then NBA even kicks up
and NHL kicks up. October goes by in the blink
of an eye.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
It's awesome. I'm excited. Let's go now, Covino, there's a
story I think we should start with, and it has
to do with sabotage Beastie Boys style.

Speaker 6 (03:53):
Listen to Allly, y'all, This is sabotage. Listen, Allly, y'all,
this is sabotage. You know what's fun about that song?
Rich is like, and I love that Beastie Boys song.
A lot of people forgot they played instruments.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
They started off as a punk band, you know, and
they dusted off those instruments. They came out with that
bad boy And that's what it's all about right now,
the sabotage or is it?

Speaker 2 (04:15):
Is it DS or is it sabotage?

Speaker 1 (04:16):
Before we get into that, I will say Beastie Boys
are in a weird category where their name you're not
sure where it pops up, because when you talk about
great rappers, because they were a group and they were in.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
An odd time, like, I don't, I don't, I.

Speaker 1 (04:28):
Think people don't know where to categorize the Beasties, Danny G.
You worked in hip hop backer the day, don't They
don't feel like the Beasts are in a weird uncharted
No one knows where to put.

Speaker 3 (04:36):
Them for sure, because their early label def Jam had
them as like frat boy rap, and they hated being
in that category. After it got played out, they wanted
to be true musicians, so, like Cove said, they went
in learned even more instruments than what they knew as kids,
and then suddenly they were doing underground rap.

Speaker 1 (04:55):
But remember, Danny G, a lot of people should know
that they're pioneers, dude. They were on run DMC in
the early days. So I don't know if they get
enough credit. Because I heard someone say this, and it's true.
This was true about the Beastie Boys. This isn't my theory.
I saw this on TikTok and I agree it has
to be true. I saw it on Solch.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
I mean, if it was on TikTok, it's true.

Speaker 3 (05:13):
Right.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
It's amazing because it's hard to explain why they're good
because they're not really great at anything. If you're talking
to someone new, they're like, well, were their beats good?
And you're like, were their bars good? Were they great
at instruments?

Speaker 7 (05:26):
Well?

Speaker 1 (05:27):
Did they have great voices? But somehow, collectively they're legends
and they're awesome.

Speaker 3 (05:32):
And we love them.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
So listen, all of y'all. Is it a sabotage?

Speaker 1 (05:37):
I don't think so, but you got to hear this one.
It's about Shador Sanders, who it seems like we can't
stop talking about, and the season it hasn't even started.
Well before we get to this is Kevin Stefanski and
the Browns front office sabotage should or Sanders. Let me
just point out one thing before we get to there's
a clip of RG three. Danny, I know you got

(05:57):
fired up about there's other headlines.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
We gotta remember.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
This guy is a fifth round draft pick. This guy's
also not the top of the quarterback depth chart. I
was just asking Danny Jago, Danny, who's the third string quarterback.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
Of the Raiders?

Speaker 1 (06:13):
Is Cam Miller rookie? I'm a Niners fan. They just
cut Tenor and Mordecai. Imagine if any other team was
making a fuss about the reps a third string or
second or fourth string quarterback got Imagine if any other
team in the league was making a deal about well,
you know, the coach didn't put third string so and

(06:34):
so in a position to succeed.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
You'd laugh at it.

Speaker 1 (06:39):
And can't they all just get along like the Giants quarterbacks?
I wish that was the case. I wish the world
could get along like the Giants.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
That I mean, that team might be destined for trash,
but that Giants looked like to having fun.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
Until they start losing. Right it's fun right now, We'll
see how it all pans out. I want to go
out for dinner with Jamison Russ and Jackson darn. I
feel like everyone's having a swell little time in the
medal ends does look like they're having fun, but not
so much in Cleveland. So again, I think what we
all saw first, Danny, if you were watching some preseason

(07:14):
would you back me up in saying that when they
took out Shador during a potential two minute drill, there
was a sense of a tyler humbley huh who ended
up being cut. Wouldn't have been cool to get a
look at what Schador could do in a two minute
drill game on the line.

Speaker 2 (07:33):
What a cool test.

Speaker 3 (07:35):
There's a little bit of double talking going on because
the stands are also saying, well, the everybody on the
line got cut except the center, but they also wanted
him in for the two minute drill to see what
he could do with the two minute drill. So it's
almost like fans of athletes, and we have some examples
from the past where no matter what goes on with

(07:56):
or around that athlete, they're always going to stick up
for him.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
It's it's wild again.

Speaker 1 (08:02):
This guy was not this We're not talking about cam
Ward or we're not talking about even Jackson Dart. We're
not talking about a guy that was drafted early on.
We're talking about a guy that if his name was
not Sanders, you wouldn't even notice if he got cut.
Not to sound like a jerk, but if if he
was not a Sanders and got cut, it would just
be another unfortunate casualty of Uh, yeah, he didn't make

(08:25):
the fifty three man roster.

Speaker 3 (08:27):
Well, this is yeah, and cove this. We talked about
this during the NFL draft. This is all a product
of that. How many people were screaming that he should
have went way sooner?

Speaker 1 (08:37):
Yeah, I mean, regardless, he was a popular player and
everyone is aware of him. But you're right, how often
do you care about the third string? Was it one
forty fourth pick or whatever it was? Yeah, not that often.
But he has his fans because he earned his fans.
I mean, he was an exciting player in college and
he has a famous name, and he has his fans.

(08:57):
And I saw something. I think I think Danny alluded
to it because it was trending. A lot of people
are comparing should Ar Sanders to Angel Reese, fans calling
him delusional, like dude, he's not that good. He's third string,
but for whatever reason, the fans speak out on his
behalf kind of like Angel Reese, Like, yeah, she's good,
but is she that good?

Speaker 2 (09:18):
Is she like female athlete of the Ye're good?

Speaker 8 (09:20):
No?

Speaker 2 (09:21):
And I don't know.

Speaker 1 (09:22):
The meme went viral. I'll read it says, should Our
Sanders and Angel Reese have the most delusional fans on earth.
Everything is the fault of their teammates or racism, or
the refs or the coaches, their opponents, owners, or racism. Like,
it's never them, it's always something else. So they do

(09:42):
have their fans. Think of it what you will. Yeah,
there's some truth to that, right. It's never like, yeah,
maybe Angel Reese isn't that good, or maybe should Ar
Sanders just really isn't that good. It's always something else,
So keep that in mind when we discuss the story.
That is a great meme, a great analogy. I'll give
you that.

Speaker 2 (10:02):
Now. You did say something that was interesting, though.

Speaker 1 (10:05):
While he is a fifth round draft pick and fighting
for a spot on the roster, he is the number
one rookie selling Jersey, which means you're right, he's not
just a fifth round draft pick. He's a fifth round
draft pick, but that comes with with hype, which comes
with popularity, which comes with again, like jersey sales, people

(10:25):
are rocking this kid's jersey, right, and that's that's the
major difference between him and another fifth rounder or whatever.

Speaker 3 (10:32):
Right.

Speaker 1 (10:33):
No, they're not getting that sort of hype, that sort
of support, that sort of attention. So, I mean, this
is a weird story, and you got to figure is
it sabotage or not? Eight seven seven ninety nine on
Fox eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox, you heard
about the two minute drill. They took him out. We
didn't see what he could do in that moment. Could

(10:54):
he light it up, could he lead a team? Could
he fail in that moment?

Speaker 2 (10:57):
We don't know. We didn't see it.

Speaker 1 (10:59):
But now the story is that Dylan Gabriel got to
play with better talent than Shador did, basically saying or
implying that it's not his fault that he didn't do
that great when he did play. Again, fans defending him,
saying that they're not setting him up to succeed. But
that is that just more delusional fans, delusional cry baby antics,

(11:22):
or well like, can you really I don't know any again,
no other team, no other personnel have you heard complain that? Well,
when you put this quarterback in, you also sort of
threw him in there with your your backup tight end
and your third string line like this just to me,
seems like people love to build a case that Shador
deserves more than maybe he does it at this point,

(11:44):
or do you believe there is sabotage? I mean, well,
you can't deny Dylan Gabriel's stats, right, he went twelve
for nineteen with one hundred and twenty nine passing yards,
one touchdown and one hundred point five QB rating against
the Los Angeles. But again on the flip side, they're
saying it's because he had better protection, he had better

(12:06):
talent with him. Dude, I didn't get that, Saam sort
of love. This is why I had that take last
week when you and I were talking about how I
can't put any stock in the preseason because you don't
know who you're playing against or with or anything.

Speaker 2 (12:16):
It's it's it's odd, you know, let's hear it.

Speaker 1 (12:19):
But you know what, I'm thinking about it from a
personal standpoint, and I like to do this. It makes
it more relatable, right, put yourself in his situation.

Speaker 2 (12:27):
There is some.

Speaker 1 (12:28):
Truth to it. It's happened. It's happened to us. Rich
that's why I have to say, Okay, Like you could
take accountability and say, well, you know, Covino and Rich
had a Monday through Friday daily TV show at night
on ESPN. Right, did we really have the best situation
and the best resources to succeed?

Speaker 2 (12:47):
Negative?

Speaker 1 (12:48):
Did we really or are we just justifying now? Listen,
we hear at Fox Sports Radio. We have been given
the tools to succeed. We have, we have a great
team around us and support. But listen, we were not
set up to succeed. We were very grateful to having
an opportunity, but I know we were necessarily set up

(13:08):
to succeed. Now you have to be I could sit
there and cry about it, or I could say hey
man and take or take some accountability. So when it
comes to Shore Sanders, there seems to be zero accountability.
This is at the same time, you understand there's a mix.
I think a lot of times maybe if you're not
set up to succeed, you got a man up or
woman up and accept it. But you're right. That is
a great personal example. Kavino and I had a pre

(13:32):
tape a half hour TV show with a patch together
cast of like ESPN Deporte's producers who were in Mexico
City covering soccer, and like we were pretty much given
to like the Ragtag crew and be like, hey guys,
here's your opportunity.

Speaker 2 (13:47):
And I'm like an opportunity.

Speaker 1 (13:49):
We worked years together and it's like we're very pumped
four and looking back, it's like, man, I wish I
wish we had better resources. I don't feel we were
set up the proper way. Now there's again two ways
to look at it. We can cry about it or
we could just blamed someone else. When it comes to
Shadora Sanders, do you cry about it or do you

(14:11):
blame someone else? I don't think you cry yet, and
I'll tell you when you cry, you know who had
every right to cry. And I'm not saying he had
the last laugh, but I think eventually, when his career
was done, we all look back and say, you know what,
he got a raw deal and he's better.

Speaker 2 (14:26):
Than we thought.

Speaker 1 (14:26):
Anyone else ever think of Alex Smith. Alex Smith had
I'm just making up a number off the top of
my head. It might as well have been like eight
different offensive coordinators and coaches his first like eight years
in the league. Like this guy was on a trash
Niners team that was given a new playbook, new personnel,
new coaching every year, and then when he finally came

(14:49):
into his own, they're like, yo, later, Kaepernick, come on
in ya. That's a great point, and Alex Smith could
very well make the argument that yo, if I was
given a different set of circumstances, I would have been
a different level QB. So you know, think about this, right,
if we're gonna explore all angles when you open it
up to you Fox Sports Radio Nation eight seven, seven
ninety nine out Fox, is it a matter of sabotage

(15:13):
when it comes to Chador or do you not buy
into it? You have to factor in that certain players
are absolutely given a better situation to succeed. Best example
probably ever is Tom Brady, Right, he comes in, he's
playing for the New England Patriots. I don't know if
that's the best example ever. But then you got the

(15:34):
Trevor Lawrences of the world, who played for the weakest
team of all time. Right, So some players in situations
are circumstantial. So there is there is true to the
theory that some people just aren't set up to succeed.
So we can't discount that as a possibility, But is
it sabotage?

Speaker 2 (15:53):
Like is it intentional? Is the question.

Speaker 1 (15:55):
I think there's no intent here and same I think
if we really think of this a little deeper, there's
something to be said about complaining early on. I mean
we're talking about like rosters haven't been set yet, it's
not even the regular season. We're like not even done
with the preseason, and there's already chattered. Like to me,
that's like ultimately distracting and annoying.

Speaker 3 (16:17):
You know what's crazy is the first preseason game of
the year for them. He went off, remember, and he
was playing with the same backups, but he just had
a better performance I think. And he's not the one
complaining right now, let's make that clear. It's his fans. Yeah,
he has extra fans right now. Because the sabotage goes
all the way back to the NFL Draft where all

(16:39):
the conspiracy theories and rumors about him being blackballed. The
NFL owners and teams got together and wanted to see
block him out of being a top draft pick because
of his attitude and cockiness and arrogance and all that.
So I think this narrative is going to ride with
him for a while.

Speaker 1 (16:53):
I owe it also comes from the fact that he
wasn't he sacked five times in the last.

Speaker 3 (16:58):
He was he lost forty yards cards he was holding
onto the ball on a couple of those. RG three
talks about it. On a couple of those sacks, he
held the ball too long. The other times were just
complete breakdowns with the O line.

Speaker 1 (17:09):
Hey, dude, stats don't lie. They don't always tell the story,
but they don't lie either. So negative forty yards, five sacks,
he's not necessarily building a case for himself, right, And
it's a matter of accountability or blaming it on someone else.
Is he being sabotaged? Is he being set up to succeed?
That's debatable. Is he being sabotaged intentionally? I agree with

(17:29):
Rich no way. Why would they want to do that?
Why would they want to devalue their guy. If Gabriel's
your guy, you're your second string, I should say, then
he's your second string? Who cares? I don't think they're
sabotaging this dude. You know if that becomes the storyline
when things don't go his way.

Speaker 2 (17:45):
Can you know?

Speaker 1 (17:46):
I think that there's a couple things also keep in mind.
If you want to add to this, like, should Sanders
himself we're blaming He's not the one. It's the fans, right,
it's the social media chatter, it's it's it's the fans.
Shubar Sanders is sort of carrying himself in a pro way.
He's answered some questions about Dylan Gabriel and other stuff.
I got no problems with. He didn't necessarily put that

(18:07):
fire out, but I don't he sort of.

Speaker 2 (18:10):
Let it be like, yeah, I don't know what he meant.

Speaker 1 (18:12):
But then again, I don't think Shador himself is doing anything.
I find it to be very likable. Yeah, that's why
I don't get it, So please keep that in mind too.
I know he could be a bit polarizing because of
who his dad is, and some people don't like flashy.
I happen to think he's pretty cool and exciting and
must watch TV.

Speaker 2 (18:32):
I like the kid.

Speaker 1 (18:33):
So That's where I'm coming from, and that's why I
find it hard to believe that as sabotage. I don't
understand or see how they setting him up intentionally to fail. Kove,
You've talked about this before with other cases in different sports.
If an athletes the name of the game is winning right,
And when people call out things like black balling or

(18:56):
racism or all these things, I promise you in a
league that is predominantly after an American where winning is everything,
like the idea of like sabotaging a guy. If you know,
if Kevin Stefanski and that team thought they could take
this trash team out of the basement and make them
a contender, with you are saying.

Speaker 2 (19:15):
Are you watching America's team? By any chance? Danny started?

Speaker 1 (19:19):
I started episode one Jerry Jerry Jones takes out Troy
Aikman for Berlin because Berlin's on fire right, and do
you remember you remember the whole situation a quarterback situation
back then, and it becomes this controversy of are you
going to play Troy Aikman?

Speaker 2 (19:33):
And he's like, I don't.

Speaker 1 (19:35):
Give a Diddley squad about a player's feelings at all.
My job is to win. So he didn't care about
playing Troy Aikman. He wanted to go with the hot
hand because it's not about a player's feelings. It's about
winning and doing what you what you can everything you
can as a as a coach and as a team
to win.

Speaker 2 (19:54):
That's why I think the sabotage conversation is silly to me,
even back in the day. If you want to reference
Bill Walsh, Walsh.

Speaker 1 (20:00):
Who you think of him and Joe Montana like a combo,
like the West Coast offense, Bill Walsh and Joe Montana.
If you watch that cool under Pressure Joe Montana documentary,
there was a point where Bill Walsh openly talked about
how like, yeah, I'm sort of done with Joe bringing
Steve Young and Joe Montana ended up winning two more
Super Bowls for the forty nine ers, but Bill Walsh

(20:23):
was ready to put feelings aside and be like, Steve
Young's my guy, so make money. It is clear, then
Rich again, Cavino and Rich Fox Sports Radio. We're not
saying racism doesn't exist. Believe me, it does. We all
know it does. It exists, But in a situation where
winning is everything, I think you're less likely to find
it because they want to win.

Speaker 2 (20:44):
That's the name of the game. Actually naming game is football.

Speaker 1 (20:46):
But like Rich said, the whole point is to win,
So may the best man win. I think it's less
likely in this situation, but it always comes back to that,
and if not, then why are people screaming sabotage. Well again,
if you just joined us and Gabriel got to play
with the better squad, the better talent. They're saying, shad
Or Sanders wasn't set up to succeed. He hasn't been

(21:07):
set up to succeed in this moment. Five sacks, negative yardage,
sabotage or not your thoughts. You gotta let us know
at Covino and Rich at Fox Sports Radio or call us.
We're timeing live. We're on YouTube line. By the way,
the opportunities now, record numbers of quarterbacks are getting touches, injuries,
little bang ups where a guy misses a week. I

(21:29):
believe there was some ridiculous number of how many qbs
got a chance last year in the NFL. Shoulde Sandsers
will get a chance, and he'll get a chance to succeed.
No one is rooting against him in that organization. That
would be like the most foolish narrative of all time,
unless his dad's working against him. There's a lot of
whispers about that. Well, I mean, listen, let's listen to

(21:50):
RG three, and then when we come back, we're gonna
take all your feedback. The phones are hot your thoughts
on Shador, Kevin Stefanski the Browns. Is it ridiculous to
think sabotage or is there a part of you that's like, no,
I could sue it. So listen to RG three and
then we'll break and come back.

Speaker 2 (22:06):
Take a listen and make no mistakes about it.

Speaker 9 (22:09):
Yes, Shudar Sanders was a fifth round pick, but he
ain't never been a fifth round talent. That's why on
his in his mind, he is saying, I can change
a franchise if you give me the opportunity to. Right now,
Cleveland is not doing that. I looked at the h.

Speaker 2 (22:27):
The snap count chart.

Speaker 9 (22:29):
We'll throw that up for you guys on the screen,
and people were saying, oh, he was playing with the
same guys that.

Speaker 3 (22:33):
Dylan Gabriel was and he wasn't. No, he wasn't. He
was not.

Speaker 9 (22:37):
He was playing with the three fours and five's offensive line.
How many sacks did Shoulder have in the game?

Speaker 3 (22:44):
More than five?

Speaker 2 (22:45):
He had five?

Speaker 9 (22:46):
Yeah, yeah, five sacks in the game playing behind the three,
four and five offensive line. Two of those sacks he
held the ball too long. The other ones he never
had a chance wide receivers. Did he play with the
same wide receivers as Dylan Gabriel did.

Speaker 3 (22:59):
No, didn't.

Speaker 9 (23:01):
When Shadura Sanders was put out there with the proper
talent around him, he excelled two touchdowns, shined on the
big stage. I know it was the preseason, but it
was the most watched preseason game in over a decade.

Speaker 1 (23:15):
To me, RGI three is paid in the picture that
they're Shenanigans and I don't know rich. Two things can
be true, and I hate to say that, but that's
where this debate often comes in.

Speaker 2 (23:28):
It could be true that he didn't have all.

Speaker 1 (23:31):
The talent they're playing with him. In fact, it is
based on what RG three is saying. But can it
also be true that it's not sabotage and that wasn't intentional.
But I don't believe it's sabotage against the guy. But
then in the back of my mind, I'm also hearing yeah,
but then why was he the one hundred and forty
fourth pick. We all thought he was gonna go higher

(23:52):
than that. Yeah, I don't about you know, nobody reminds
me of I'll give you the dumbest analogy. There have
been people that have dude reality shows I don't know
if you know this. There's one particular case where a
woman sued I believe like Idle or the voice, because
they insisted on her singing a song and then when
she sang it, they're like, terrible song choice you goodbye,

(24:14):
And then she's like, we well, you guys told me
to sing that song, so I get it. Sometimes you're
not rich, you know, hold on, I'm sorry interrupt. There's
something in life. Yeah, and we've learned the hard way,
and it's called accountability. It's your career. People could guide
you and suggest or even say you have to, but
at the beginning, middle, end, end of the day, it's

(24:35):
ultimately your choice. Rich and I have been in this
situation where we wish we would have said, no, we're
not gonna do that because our name's on the show,
but we followed people in charge moving forward. What have
we said now if we don't feel right about it,
we're not gonna do it. We're gonna speak up. Shorge
Sanders has to also take some accountability, but also situations.

(24:58):
But also when you're a rookie, if around quarterback, like
you're not in the you're not in the position to
call your shots. Let's go to the feedback, because I do
want to hear from everyone. I do think it's interesting
your quick instinct Ryan Danny g Ormansei, what if some
I know it's not gonna happen, but if he got cut,
which isn't crazy to say. I know they're going to keep,

(25:18):
you know, a big quarterback room. But if he had
got cut, is there another of the thirty one teams
that would have picked him up? Or is this like,
are we overvaluing these middle Colin Kaepernick? What did the
kid do? Of course someone would pick him up. No,
but no, look at the minimum me selling jersey.

Speaker 3 (25:36):
But Vino, look at the noise surrounding him right now.
I think teams would want to avoid that as far
as a backup quarterback goes.

Speaker 1 (25:43):
You know what, I look at it differently and I
and that's true. Again, two things could be true. Danny
g is right, but it also has me tuning into.

Speaker 2 (25:50):
Their bounds where I wouldn't carry to say.

Speaker 1 (25:53):
If you say race, then you could say on the
other side, a guy like Tim Tebow was noise too.
It doesn't need to be you know, racial, Like there
are guys that it's like, hey, they come with a lot, right,
like Tim Tebow came with a lot, should or Sanders
comes a lot. If the talent doesn't equal you know
all that it comes.

Speaker 3 (26:09):
With, is it worth it is? It would make your
team a lot more fun. Like off the air, I
was asking Ryan about the Raiders situation. They need a
backup quarterback right now because aid And O'Connell broke his
wrist in the final preseason game. Ryan, would you rather
have Shador Sanders as the backup or like Ryan Tannehill Sanders?

Speaker 2 (26:27):
Yeah, every day or twice on Sunday. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (26:30):
I think the kid's exciting. The potentials there too. I
mean we got to factor that in. Like you said, Rich,
he's a he's a rookie quarterback. It's his first year
in the NFL. He's gonna make some mistakes. He's not
gonna know how to handle it. He's gonna not be
in control of his situation all the time. But man,
exciting to say the least. So I see both sides,
all sides. How do you feel about it? Fox Sports

(26:51):
Radio Nation, We're going through the phones now eight seven
to seven ninety nine one five. Let's go cross fire
and then we'll get to a Manzi's update start with
market Indiana.

Speaker 2 (26:57):
Mark your thoughts, sabotage or or not? What are we thinking?

Speaker 8 (27:01):
No?

Speaker 10 (27:01):
No, no, no, And again I hope the kid succeeds.
I think he's got an issue because of Let's be honest,
if his dad's name was Cliff, nobody would even be
talking about this today, you know, if it wasn't Dion
And I think Deon's are a great polarizing you know,
you love him or hating him kind of deal. But other
than that, nobody would even care to start with. And
my other question is I didn't see the game, so

(27:23):
with his third, fourth, and fifth string starters, was he
playing against the first string defense or was he playing
against third and fourth?

Speaker 2 (27:30):
Yeah? Exactly.

Speaker 1 (27:31):
Again, like I said, take any other team in the
National Football League when they're second, third, or backup quarterback
is in the game, got any snaps? It's the same thing.
And when guys get cut, it happens all the time.
No one even blinks. And I we're talking about this
guy getting sabotaged. Andre in Miami.

Speaker 3 (27:48):
What's up? Man?

Speaker 7 (27:49):
Hey, my guys listen, No sabotage, quick story, real quick story.
Jimmy Johnson and he got to Dallas Cowboys. He was
the University of Miami coach. He had Steve wallsh as
a quarterback, won a national championship in eighty seven, should
have won an eighty eight. That wasn't a fubble by
Cleveland Garry. They should have went back to back yep. Anyhow,
he goes to Dallas. When he goes to Dallas, Steve

(28:12):
Walsh is his quarterback. But what does he do. He
goes and gets Troy Aikman. He was recruiting Troy Aigman
in University of Miami, but Eiateman went to Oklahoma instead
before he transferred to UCLA. And long story short is
this coaches want to win. Jimmy Jones had a great
relationship with Steve Wall should have won two national championships. Well,
he dumped him for Troy Aikman. Why because he wants

(28:34):
to win?

Speaker 1 (28:34):
Yeah, and John say feelings don't matter, It's about winning.
Andre is so right, and I agree. And I can
never really get with the narrative that like people are
in it for anything other than winning, especially a head
coach Kevin Stefanski, Like, you don't think this guy, this
guy's projected to be trash at the bottom of the
AFC North right like Cleveland's projected what three four five

(28:56):
wins at tops. You don't think he wants to win
in surprise everyone and you think he wants all this
No way, Max in Kentucky.

Speaker 2 (29:03):
It's up, hey man.

Speaker 8 (29:06):
Preseason is not about winning, it's about evaluating. Yeah, you know,
so if you're going to evaluate, you need to keep
the young guy. And they brought Tyler Hunley in for injuries,
so they had no plans on keep it in. There
was no reason to put him in.

Speaker 1 (29:23):
That is one thing I do agree with. I just
think that was a weird call because they cut Huntley.

Speaker 2 (29:27):
Why not see what what what?

Speaker 1 (29:31):
Controversy on a little bit of everything going on here
JP and OKC.

Speaker 2 (29:36):
What's up? JP?

Speaker 11 (29:37):
Hey guys the first time, long time, appreciate you taking it.

Speaker 2 (29:40):
Thank you.

Speaker 7 (29:41):
Like first thing. You got to give credit.

Speaker 11 (29:43):
To shador like not complaining publicly the way he's handled
everything with the media for the most part, he's done
a pretty good job.

Speaker 7 (29:50):
But not sabotage.

Speaker 11 (29:52):
I think either earlier today on the Dan Patrick Show
or j Mack on The Hurt either one saying that
in the third game, I didn't watch it but he
had the same line as Dylan Gabriel. Had Gabriel lit
it up. He didn't took that twenty three yard sack
or whatever. It was just brutal boils down. He's a
fifth round pick.

Speaker 7 (30:11):
That's what he cuts down to.

Speaker 1 (30:13):
I maybe right now now, who's rooting against the guy?
Is anybody rooting against greatness? I mean, I would love
to know. You must have a personal sort of vendetta
if you are.

Speaker 3 (30:23):
I'm not.

Speaker 2 (30:23):
I want to see the guy do good.

Speaker 1 (30:25):
I think it's people that get rubb wrong by the
Sanders family, and I don't. I'm a Niners fan, so
Primetime brought us our left Super Bowl, so I'm a
deon fan. I like, I like the story. I just
think sabotage is ridiculous. Let's go to Mansi for an update.
We'll take the rest of your feedback. Phones are hot,
so we'll keep it wronging. What's up months.

Speaker 4 (30:39):
Yeah, sabotage seems a little bit yeah crazy. I feel
like they took him out of that, and I know
that's weird. But at least he didn't get sacked for
a six or seven times, right, I mean, at least
he didn't get hurt at least.

Speaker 2 (30:49):
Something bad didn't happen. I don't know, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (30:52):
I think the reality is we all know that at
some point in the twenty twenty five football season we
will see Shadoor Sanders.

Speaker 2 (30:57):
Yeah, yeah, I'm with that. What more could yes? Squat right?

Speaker 4 (31:00):
Yeah, And if you're a Bengals fan, then you're gonna
see Trey Hendrickson.

Speaker 1 (31:03):
So this just spat down.

Speaker 4 (31:04):
They reached an agreement on a fourteen million dollar raise
for this year, so it boosted his salary to thirty million.

Speaker 2 (31:11):
That is the deal.

Speaker 4 (31:12):
He is still scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent
after this season, so at least Trey Hendrickson will be
around for this season, at least for the Bengals.

Speaker 2 (31:20):
Another holdout has come to an end in Washington.

Speaker 1 (31:22):
By the way, they needed that because oh oh yeah,
port Choe Burrow in his body. He's like, do I
need to put up forty points a game? Because without
him on the defense it's.

Speaker 2 (31:31):
A meager ye. No, now he needs to put out forty.
He needed to put up fifty without him exactly.

Speaker 3 (31:36):
Now he's gonna to do put up forty.

Speaker 4 (31:38):
The Commanders and wide receiver Terry McLaurin have also reached
an agreement on a three year extension worth ninety six million,
so that holdout is over. Texans announced that running back
Joe Mixon will not be activated from the non football
injury list by tomorrow's four pm Eastern deadline. So for
fantasy football, if you have not drafted him, know that
he is not going to be eligible to play for
the first four games of the regular season due to

(31:59):
that ankle injury. Raiders have signed five time Pro Bowl
wide receiver Amari Cooper to a one year deal.

Speaker 2 (32:04):
Also, Raiders wide receiver.

Speaker 4 (32:06):
Jacoby Myers has requested a trade after contract extension talks
came to a stall.

Speaker 1 (32:15):
Hell yeah, Tricky, Cavino and Rich live from the Fox
Sports Radio studio, and it's time for our ti Iraq
Play of the Day. Stick around, though, because we're gonna
get to your phone calls and wrap it up Shore Sanders.
But the play today sho Hao Tani kept hearing a
heckler in San Diego and he had something for him.

Speaker 12 (32:35):
And now here's Cal Rowley, fresh from setting the major
league record that swey to drive deep the left field
for history.

Speaker 1 (32:43):
Goodbye baseball, Ryan, do you have something against Shoeo Tani
or is it?

Speaker 2 (32:49):
Do you not like Otani?

Speaker 3 (32:50):
Well he's getting the right way.

Speaker 1 (32:52):
Well you know what, cal Raley, he could have the
play of the day criticy if I'm sure. Mariners Radio
Network ti IRAQ has and helping customers find the right tires,
so how what and where they drive fast and free
back by free Road has protection, convenient mobile tire installation,
tirec dot com. The way Tyler pulling away with the
MVP race. Unfortunately he's breaking records left and right.

Speaker 2 (33:16):
And yeah, but you did it at tire Rack.

Speaker 3 (33:17):
You did a great intro Coveno take two on showing
now we don't yeah, yeah, yeah, we got time.

Speaker 2 (33:21):
Right, go ahead, let's go.

Speaker 1 (33:23):
It's worth it again, Shohey Otani kept hearing a Heckler
in San Diego, and he had something for him.

Speaker 12 (33:30):
Fully, it's a rocket's a right field, way back there
and a way gone. The Dodgers with their fourth home
run of this Sunday afternoon in the forty fifth of
the season for the reigning MVP, it's now eight to two.

Speaker 1 (33:48):
I love that's how you went over a hater. I
love how he gave him a little bro hug. Wapped
him up at going to a fan and that Padres
fan gracefully game like a little like yo, respect on
you the man that is a fantastic fan player interaction.

Speaker 2 (34:03):
If you haven't seen that clip show, Hey and Poster.

Speaker 1 (34:06):
It's all about dude. You don't hate the guy, You're
just rooting against him. That almost you almost hate how
good he is. Right, It's like how a Mets fan
feels about Bryce Harper. You can't hate Bryce Harper, you
just hate how damn good he is. All right, back
to your phone calls. We'll take a few more shador
Sanders sabotage or or not. I mean, I feel like
he's a third string quarterback. If he's not a Sanders,

(34:28):
this is even a conversation. Let's go to Doug in Maryland. Hey, Dougie,
Doug Hey.

Speaker 13 (34:33):
Cleveland can keep him, Guys. I'm a Raiders fan. I've
been a Raiders fan for over forty years. I don't
want him on a Raiders'll be JaMarcus Russell all over again.
And you know he's a project. He hasn't played against
any first team defenses. Remember that, So any Raiders fan
out there that wants him that, let's pick a chance
on him. They're crazy.

Speaker 1 (34:52):
Remember what we said about accountability Rich He didn't put
himself necessarily in a position to succeed. Our buddy Drew
Mack hit us up and reminded us word on the
streets was he didn't have that many great interviews to
begin with, so maybe if he handled that differently, he
would be in a different situation to do better. But
also I think we're also there's a lot of potential

(35:14):
talent there, Like if you were the Raiders, right, Like,
with all respect to Doug who just called, if you're
the Raiders and you got Geno Smith and like, you
know O'Connell's hurt now, but like, who's.

Speaker 3 (35:23):
Your backup now, Danny cam Miller?

Speaker 1 (35:25):
Like cam Miller, Like you tell me you wouldn't wash
your door Sanders, Come on, of course you would, because
there's just potential. It may not pan out, but you
tell me, the athleticism and just what Shador could bring,
you wouldn't want more than cam Miller.

Speaker 2 (35:37):
I'm sure you would. It's obvious.

Speaker 1 (35:39):
Speaking of backups, did you see that Carson Wentz went
to the Vikings over the weekend, his fifth team in.

Speaker 2 (35:45):
The past five years.

Speaker 1 (35:46):
Danny g and I were talking about that, like so
crazy how his career went with he went from on
his way to winning a Super Bowl. Nick Foles takes
over and then since then, poor Carson wentz. Hey, listen,
he's made a ton of money and stuff, but just
them crazy to see right, went off the rail. Never
has a fifth rounder had this much like preseason support.

(36:09):
But is he being sabotaged? Let's say two more quick
We'll do like three more quick phone calls, and we'll
move on to more NFL as we are ten days
away Dale and Florida. We'll start with you, buddy, what's up?

Speaker 3 (36:20):
Man?

Speaker 13 (36:21):
Hey guys.

Speaker 14 (36:22):
First, I'll say I saw why they drifted Dylan Gabriel
in the third, and I saw Dylan's career here and
you see he's spectacular. Then went to Oklahoma was spectacular,
but the argon was spectacular. I think when he played
with the second, third, and fourth the lineman like Chad did,

(36:44):
he didn't look as.

Speaker 11 (36:45):
Bad as.

Speaker 2 (36:47):
I think. Because Cleveland is presumed.

Speaker 1 (36:52):
Like dead out the gate, like they're not a playoff
team unless something wildly crazy happens. I think you are
going to see this season. I don't know if Kevin
Stefanski is on the hot seat or is it a
trial by error? Would you be would you be shocked?
I said it the other day that Jason Smith or
Mike Harmon one of them. I know, Covini, you always
mix them up. Harmon hat Smith sleeves. Mike Harmon wears

(37:15):
a hat. Jason Smith wears no sleeves.

Speaker 2 (37:18):
So they could never change that. No, or it'll mess
up Covino.

Speaker 1 (37:21):
But yeah, they were saying on their show here on
the network that they wouldn't be shocked if five different
quarterbacks started for that team, and it just might be
a trial by error. Maybe Kevin Stefanski has been told
like listen, man, you're not on the hot seat.

Speaker 2 (37:34):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (37:35):
He's a good coach. We'll see what happens. But should
nor will get a chance. We know that Jesse in Indiana?

Speaker 2 (37:40):
What's up, Jess?

Speaker 10 (37:42):
Hey?

Speaker 14 (37:42):
How's it going?

Speaker 7 (37:43):
Boys?

Speaker 3 (37:43):
What's up?

Speaker 10 (37:44):
Hey?

Speaker 7 (37:45):
So my opinion is.

Speaker 15 (37:49):
That he's playing with the third stringers because that's where
they that's where they value him. They I mean, he's
had issues with the speeding tickets. Maybe that's where the
Brown seas a third string over a third string quarterback.

Speaker 1 (38:04):
Awten talent will rise above all and a speeding Ticket's on?

Speaker 3 (38:08):
What are you saying?

Speaker 1 (38:09):
The cream rises to the top? Theras macho man Randy
Savage one said, the cream rise to the top.

Speaker 3 (38:15):
Yeah, I don't think they care about a speeding ticket.
But Dylan Gabriel was drafted ninety fourth overall.

Speaker 2 (38:20):
Yeah, they had another quarterback that did some other things.

Speaker 3 (38:22):
Yeah, Sanders, what was it? One for four? So you're
going to be on the field with the guys comparable
to where you were picked.

Speaker 2 (38:28):
Well, hold on, who are the Browns playing? Week one?

Speaker 1 (38:30):
Remind me, do you know if the top of your head,
I could look it up super quick, Browns Week one?

Speaker 3 (38:33):
I remember he ripped it up, Remember and yeah, all
the highlights. Everybody was like, oh man, ever the whole
the rest of the league made a mistake, all right?

Speaker 2 (38:41):
Hold on, Browns.

Speaker 1 (38:43):
They start their season playing the Bengals, Then they played
the Ravens, and then the Packers and then the Lions.
Maybe should our Sanders doesn't want I mean, I know
Flacco is getting the start, but would you want to
be thrown out there?

Speaker 3 (38:57):
Hey, this is why we knew Flacco was gonna get
the start from.

Speaker 1 (39:01):
Welcome to the NFL, you're playing a hungry redemption based
Joe Burrow. Then you play arguably the best team in
the AFC, in the Ravens. Then you have to play
the Packers and Lions. You could argue you're protecting the
guy and letting them learn on the job, like you're
giving them time. The same argument as to why they
took him out during the two minutes, like, yeah, he

(39:21):
got sacked five times, they're just protecting him.

Speaker 2 (39:25):
You could make that argument.

Speaker 1 (39:26):
But again, if you just joined us, was he sabotaged
not being set up to succeed? I think it's a
little of both, but I don't think it's intentional.

Speaker 2 (39:34):
We'll wrap it up with one last phot call. Who
do you got? This is Matt and Georgia. Hi, Matt, Hey, Matt, Hey, guys,
what's going on?

Speaker 8 (39:40):
Hey?

Speaker 7 (39:41):
I love the show.

Speaker 16 (39:42):
Thank you, though Manci is the go of the show.

Speaker 8 (39:45):
But we'll get.

Speaker 7 (39:48):
Racism, throw that.

Speaker 16 (39:49):
Out the wind, or would be option watching all the
white dudes out.

Speaker 2 (39:53):
In these situations.

Speaker 1 (39:54):
I'd say, you know, racism exists, but when you're trying
to win football games, I think that's no.

Speaker 2 (40:00):
This this is not the case here, agreed, what else?

Speaker 16 (40:03):
Matt fought their whole lives for this dream job. Sabotage
is not a thing. Ever, Here's the thing people are missing.
Its round draft picks, third four string whatever. He gets
to see it and learn and let his talent come out.
In two or three years, Thomas knows and say I
told you so to everybody.

Speaker 17 (40:21):
In the world.

Speaker 2 (40:22):
Yeah, dude, let me tell you this does.

Speaker 1 (40:24):
Someone said a quote to me a couple of years ago,
and the reality is, I very really, I very rarely
hear a quote that sticks with me.

Speaker 2 (40:33):
A couple of them create in our life. Someone said,
how about this one? Here's this women with bow lego women.

Speaker 3 (40:37):
No, not that one.

Speaker 2 (40:39):
There's two quotes.

Speaker 1 (40:40):
One was someone once told us professionally personally, whatever you
say yes to, you're saying no to something else.

Speaker 2 (40:48):
I always thought, you know that that was a quote
that stuck with me.

Speaker 1 (40:52):
If you're saying yes to partying with your family, partying
with your friends, you're saying no to hanging.

Speaker 2 (40:56):
With your family.

Speaker 1 (40:58):
And I think that that's one quote. I'm now I
lost my place, but you can't get fooled again.

Speaker 2 (41:07):
Pull me once.

Speaker 3 (41:09):
He didn't even do that on purpose.

Speaker 1 (41:12):
How about this quote? It's not cheating. If you keep
your socks on, that was always when you liked.

Speaker 2 (41:17):
That, that is true, that was a good one.

Speaker 3 (41:19):
Or if you wear a condom because then it's not
really touch.

Speaker 2 (41:21):
Up so close to you.

Speaker 1 (41:26):
Yeah, it was a quote. It was a quote.

Speaker 2 (41:28):
It was famous back in the early today that was
lived by that code.

Speaker 3 (41:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (41:33):
Well, the rest of your feedback, and we appreciate it.

Speaker 3 (41:37):
Man.

Speaker 1 (41:37):
You know what you know who's a big shore Sanders fan?
Me because apparently everybody wants to talk about him. It
makes our job easier. Eight seven seven ninety nine on
Fox eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox, and of
course the rest of your feedback at Covino and Rerich
at Fox Sports Radio. I genuinely want to bang my
head against the wall, I cause I told you it's
a quote.

Speaker 2 (41:54):
I lived by them, Like, yeah, I forgot what it was.

Speaker 1 (41:57):
Oh, I know rich, happy wife, happy life.

Speaker 2 (42:03):
No, No, I'm joke kid.

Speaker 3 (42:06):
Yeah, the worst quote ever.

Speaker 10 (42:07):
I know.

Speaker 1 (42:08):
Everybody says it like like it's the first time you
ever heard it, man, And now I don't know if
you ever heard this one. There's an old saying so anyway, Uh,
I got one Rich for every hot shick out there.

Speaker 2 (42:22):
There's some dude who's sick of getting with her. I
don't know if you ever.

Speaker 1 (42:25):
Heard that though, I don't know what the quote was,
but I will say this to wrap up the Shadoor conversation.
I will say, when you do have a young potential star,
I'll make the analogy to baseball. I always found it
interesting when you pull a guy off the I L
or when you debut a young star pitcher. I always
found it shocking when teams sort of threw them to

(42:49):
the wolves, Like, could you know if you're let's say
you're a you're the Arizona Diamondbacks, right, and you have
a star pitcher that's like lighting it up in double A,
Triple A, like he he's the pro aspect of all prospects.
I feel like, you give that guy his first start
at home against like the Marlins.

Speaker 2 (43:07):
Or at want to kill their confidence. I always found that, Like,
I don't think you're part of it. I think it's
a good managing.

Speaker 1 (43:13):
Yeah, I don't think you give your star minor league
pitcher his debut at Dodger Stadium when the Dodgers are
hot or something.

Speaker 2 (43:20):
I agree I do so.

Speaker 1 (43:21):
I think if anything, you're setting oh I know what
it was. I remember the quote there. It is it
always if you just like let it sit, it always
comes back and it actually makes sense.

Speaker 2 (43:30):
Okay, based on this whole conversation, do.

Speaker 3 (43:32):
You want a drum roll here?

Speaker 2 (43:35):
Because he'll forget.

Speaker 1 (43:36):
But if you do a drum roll, I'm gonna start thinking,
oh drum snare drum based drum?

Speaker 2 (43:39):
What a whole drum?

Speaker 1 (43:40):
And I'll lose my mind. He or she who masters
patience can master anything, because we.

Speaker 2 (43:50):
As a people that get out of here.

Speaker 1 (43:54):
But the reality is, when it when it comes to dating,
when it comes to work, when it comes to making money,
when it comes to sports, when it comes to anything,
we have lost patience.

Speaker 2 (44:03):
You want, as comedian Ronnie.

Speaker 1 (44:05):
Chen says, if you watch his Netflix special, Amazon Prime
isn't even good enough. Now we want Amazon, we want Prime.
Now you want you order something, it's like it'll be
there in two days, like two days.

Speaker 2 (44:16):
We want things about two day? How about now?

Speaker 3 (44:18):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (44:18):
How about now? You tell me a quarterback he'll be
ready in a couple of years. A fan base here
is that we're gonna wait two or three years. Yeah,
you do relax.

Speaker 2 (44:29):
He or she who can master patience can master anything. See,
I knew i'd find.

Speaker 3 (44:35):
It there you go.

Speaker 2 (44:38):
Hey, hey love it?

Speaker 1 (44:40):
Before we get to Mike Tyson, Hey, can I before
we do that? Can I just show you something that's
really funny? What does rich love better than a guy's pompadour?
Like a super sweet pompadour free forks too, Yes, stealing
forks at chot nice Heney. But I just saw something

(45:01):
that made me crack up.

Speaker 3 (45:02):
Dude.

Speaker 1 (45:02):
You know you know money Line Monico, Right, Alex Monico
does weekends here with Martin Waste.

Speaker 2 (45:07):
Yeah. I think Moneyline Monico is a good young talent.

Speaker 1 (45:10):
Go to Alex Monico's Instagram page and do eleven scrolls
to the right. Is this guy serious with his pompadour?
It is out of control. That guy's got a full
on quaff.

Speaker 3 (45:20):
Look at that?

Speaker 2 (45:21):
Just something to break up action.

Speaker 3 (45:23):
He looks like he's one of Tom Brady's kids.

Speaker 2 (45:25):
Yo, dude, you gotta see his hair. He's got a
full on quaff. He's got a pomp i adore, He's
got a pompadour.

Speaker 1 (45:33):
But that's just a shout out and endorsement to money
Line Monico, Alex Monico, him and Martin Weiss are doing
a great job on the weekends here at Fox Sports.
Those guys crack me up. His hair is something to
marvel at. Honestly, dude, it is. It is, and that's
a great well that's a great weekend show, by the way.
Here on that also, it was my way of saying
it is showing love.

Speaker 2 (45:55):
I saw that.

Speaker 1 (45:55):
I was like, man, this guy bring it. Their show
is half as good as his hair. They're in there.
They got some talent, I'm telling you, man, So all right,
Aaron Rodgers. Danny G sets a four minute of timer.
He doesn't allow us to talk about Aaron Rodgers for
more than four minutes.

Speaker 2 (46:08):
So thank you Danny for putting limits on us.

Speaker 3 (46:12):
Just hit the start button on my timer.

Speaker 2 (46:14):
Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 1 (46:15):
He's criticized a lot for being a wackle doodle do right,
for saying outlandish things and cave retreats and darkness retreats
and peyote and pay whatever else he's smoking, ayahuasca, whatever
he's doing, right, He does lots of weird things that
caused lots of speculation, so he brings it upon himself.
Correct years ago, he said something about not wearing airbuts

(46:38):
AirPods because he thinks the frequencies messed with his brain,
and it was brought up again.

Speaker 2 (46:45):
Yeah, how did the story resurface?

Speaker 3 (46:47):
Danyg He was on this Sportico podcast and he was
talking about wearing wired headphones, and so now in our
algorithm that comment from a couple of years ago about
brain frequencies has come back to light.

Speaker 1 (47:00):
Saw it though, Man, I think young people sniff that
out because every once in a while, when I forget
or when I don't charge my AirPods, I feel like
I do get people staring at me for rocking the
old school wired west. Seriously, it's such a look that
dates you. They're like, this guy's from the early nineteen
this guy's from the late nineteen hundreds.

Speaker 2 (47:18):
I think he has wires on his headphones.

Speaker 1 (47:20):
Yeah, they're like wires.

Speaker 2 (47:22):
What happened to this guy? Were you born in the
black and white times?

Speaker 1 (47:25):
Seriously?

Speaker 3 (47:25):
I think some people do it just because they're lazy
and they don't, you know, regularly charge their.

Speaker 2 (47:30):
Say fair, Yes it happens.

Speaker 1 (47:32):
But here's my thought on this, because I think it
brings up a more fun topic. Here on Fox Sports Radio,
Cavino and Rich what are those randoh like? Urban legends
and things your parents told you or things like that
you genuinely are skeptical of, Like like they might tell
you it's safe, but you're like, well, I'm not quite

(47:53):
sure about that, because I caught myself just earlier today
my kids, well, they put something in the microwave and
they were just standing in front of it. I'm like,
don't stand in front of the microwave, and my kid's like, why,
I go, I don't know. It's not good for you.

Speaker 2 (48:05):
Are you supposed to stand in front of the microwave.
I'm not sure I ever heard that one, but I
like it. It makes sense.

Speaker 1 (48:11):
Yeah, well, my mom used to say stand in front
of the microwave. I don't know what I'll give you
one when we were kids. Apparently this is nonsense. Don't
sit too close to the TV, it's bad for your eyes.
Apparently that is not true at all. I've had to
catch yourself saying these things like my mommy stay out
at me, like, don't eat bananas at night, it gives
you nightmares. And I say the same thing to my kid.

(48:33):
I have no idea if it's true or not. So again,
Aaron Rodgers says he doesn't use Bluetooth or air pods
because he believes they interfere with his brain frequency. He
only uses the wired headphones. What are some of those examples?
Are those conspiracies that you live by in your life? Well,
there were the little ones that your parents told you
and you never thought about it. You're like, man, I
believe them. Like you tell me a funny one. Your

(48:54):
mom didn't want you smoking weed as a teenager, so
she told you weed made you break out and convino
so vain that he's like, ohn't on't pimpbole. So yeah, yeah,
I tried. I stayed away for as long as I could.

Speaker 8 (49:05):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (49:05):
Absolutely. And one I sort of made well, I didn't
make it up. It's I believe it to be true.
I believe this to be true. There's a reason I
watch subtitles rich, I wear wired headphones like an old
guy once in a while. Has nothing to do with frequencies,
just laziness. I forgot to charge my airpots, but I

(49:26):
watched subtitles all the time, and I realized I can't
read them anymore.

Speaker 2 (49:32):
You know why, Why?

Speaker 1 (49:34):
Because I got COVID I and I believe it. You
believe one of the conspiracies I live by.

Speaker 2 (49:41):
This is the truth.

Speaker 1 (49:43):
I feel like after COVID, two things happen that a
lot of people don't talk about. Hair loss and my
eyesight was never the same. And here's what happens. You
don't think it's just that you're in your forties and
your eight.

Speaker 2 (49:57):
That's what I'm saying. You did it. Everyone chalks it
up to dude, you're just getting older.

Speaker 1 (50:02):
I'm like, just like that, right after COVID is the
that's the coincidence you want me to accept. Get out
of here, covid ie, covid hairline. I believe that our
immune systems were never the same. I don't know any
scientific proof behind that, but it's my own conspiracy that
I truly believe. I'm not telling you to believe it.

(50:22):
I'm telling you what I've noticed from experience. Here's what
I noticed. My old ast parents are always sick right
ever since, because their immune system was was.

Speaker 2 (50:31):
What's the word was compromise?

Speaker 1 (50:34):
Thank you rich. My hairline was never the same, it
just thinned out. I lost a lot of hair after COVID.
My eyesight never came back. Covid ie is real to me.

Speaker 2 (50:46):
Believe what you want. This is something I believe.

Speaker 1 (50:49):
If Aaron Rodgers believes frequencies messed with his brain, I'm
telling you my belief.

Speaker 2 (50:52):
You're just in your forties now that happens.

Speaker 1 (50:54):
No, dude, it was. It was too coincidental. It was
right after that. You know, my Mommy's just I think
a guy or a woman in their thirties being like
metabol isn't the same.

Speaker 2 (51:04):
You're talking old eagle eye right here. I went from
perfect twenty twenty eagle eye vision. I used to call
you old eagle eye.

Speaker 3 (51:10):
Covino.

Speaker 1 (51:11):
Dude, there wasn't a hidden pictures from Highlights Magazine that
it didn't solve.

Speaker 2 (51:16):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 1 (51:17):
Where's Waldo? I found him every time, not the Moore.
I had a masterful eye lost it immediately after COVID.
I'm not telling you to believe it. I'm just telling
you what I believe. So in honor of Aaron Rodgers
as he begins his journey for the Pittsburgh Steelers to
go all the way, the story of the year, Aaron
Rodgers Super Bowl champ.

Speaker 2 (51:38):
What are the weird?

Speaker 1 (51:39):
I would say, conspiracies or little things maybe your parents
told you, or a little rando things you somehow believe even.

Speaker 2 (51:47):
If you know it's not true, you still live by it.
Or how about this camino?

Speaker 1 (51:50):
How about this some incorrect stuff that you've repeated or
then thought, well, hold on, wait a minute. What I
just caught myself the other day We're driving around at night.
Kid want to put the light on in the car,
and I was like, no, you can't do that, buddy,
Well we'll get a ticket.

Speaker 2 (52:05):
I'm like, will we or did?

Speaker 1 (52:07):
Like that's the weakest one, dude, that because your parents
made it seem if you turn the back seat light
on in the car, couldn't see turn it off. And dude,
that is the biggest line of bs ever.

Speaker 2 (52:19):
I don't even know what the thinking because I've said
it to my kids and I'm like, no, well, we're
gonna go to prison if we know what that made
me think of it? The biggest lie ever.

Speaker 1 (52:28):
Told hey, don't uh don't go number two in the
pool because there's some mystery dyeing there and and how many.

Speaker 2 (52:36):
Times we don't go number two?

Speaker 3 (52:37):
You?

Speaker 2 (52:38):
I mean, I'm sorry, number one's number two? You were
you tempted to go number two in the pool?

Speaker 1 (52:44):
Like, yeah, I get confused sometimes because sometimes the number
two is number one in my life. So you know,
your family would say, don't go number one in the
pool because there'll be a die in the pool. And
you're like, as a little kid, you believe that. I'm
a grown up. I've never seen that ever, is it?
I've tested it out. I've tested out the theory a
few times. Have you tested out on my pool?

Speaker 2 (53:05):
No? Thank you?

Speaker 3 (53:07):
All right? You know what?

Speaker 2 (53:08):
Ohio, Josh, you're on with Covino?

Speaker 3 (53:10):
Rich?

Speaker 2 (53:10):
What's up, Bud?

Speaker 11 (53:12):
Hey, guys, I.

Speaker 7 (53:12):
Had to just chime in.

Speaker 16 (53:13):
I think we all heard it from our mothers when
we were younger.

Speaker 7 (53:16):
If you keep doing that, you'll go blind.

Speaker 17 (53:19):
And I think we all know what that is.

Speaker 2 (53:22):
Dude, Maybe that's why you have covid I.

Speaker 5 (53:27):
Man, that's not true. Right now, that was true? So funny,
Ryan would be Helen Keller, all right, let's go to
Matt and Penn.

Speaker 17 (53:38):
What's up, Matt, Hey, that covid I is for real?

Speaker 2 (53:43):
Oh so you're you're with Cavino on the covid I.

Speaker 4 (53:45):
Huh.

Speaker 1 (53:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (53:45):
I'm not telling people to buy into my theory, but
I believe it.

Speaker 17 (53:50):
I went once like things started to relax and you
could actually go to the doctor again. I went to
the eye doctor for the first time in a long time,
and uh, because I was starting to not see stuff
like up close. And he said, well, you know you're
forty eight. It should have stopped by now, so you're
good to go. Man, it's four years later, it just
gets worse and worse.

Speaker 1 (54:11):
Yeah, but again, that's like, you know, my dad's just
turned seventy ish and he's he has readers.

Speaker 2 (54:17):
Like you as you get older.

Speaker 1 (54:18):
Things, you know. I blame all my old guy amiments
on COVID. Now it's a good guy. I got COVID back,
I got COVID shoulder, COVID elbow.

Speaker 2 (54:27):
No, but seriously, the hair was never as thick.

Speaker 1 (54:30):
Like money Line Monico, and it was never my I say,
it was never the same. After telling you, well, if
you guys have some fun examples the weird conspiracies you believe,
the weird stuff your parents told you that, somehow you
find yourself repeating, well, have some fun with it.

Speaker 2 (54:45):
We'll take your feedback.

Speaker 1 (54:47):
Next, in honor of Aaron Rodgers, who back in the
day said he doesn't wear bluetooth anything because it'll scramble
his brain. Kyle, you're on the show, could you know.

Speaker 11 (54:57):
Rich.

Speaker 18 (55:00):
Back in high school there there was a rumor going
around that somebody got some water in their gas from
a gas station. So I didn't buy gas from that
gas station for about twenty years.

Speaker 1 (55:10):
You know what's so funny. We we all grew up
before the age of the Internet. Correct, not to date ourselves,
but if you were kid of the eighties or nineties,
we grew up without the internet. Cavino, you're from Jersey.
I'm from New York. Danny, you grew up in northern
and southern California. Ryan, where did you grow up?

Speaker 2 (55:25):
Northern California?

Speaker 1 (55:26):
Manse you're from the the area, right, Yeah, we all
heard some of the same rumors, which makes me wonder
how strong the rumor mill was even before the Internet.

Speaker 2 (55:35):
We've all heard of Richard gear Gerbil.

Speaker 1 (55:38):
Right, we all heard, that's true, we all we all heard.

Speaker 2 (55:42):
Oh maybe maybe the dude I heard rich Davis Gerbil.
We all heard.

Speaker 1 (55:49):
We all heard Paul Pfeiffer from The Wonder Years. Is
that really Marilyn Manson? I'm always curious.

Speaker 2 (55:55):
Oh, we heard that Marilyn Manson got his ribber move too.

Speaker 1 (55:57):
So he could Yeah, yeah, how did you all hear
the same rumors, yet there was no Internet.

Speaker 2 (56:03):
How is that possible?

Speaker 3 (56:05):
We mouth It's like it's like that game telephone that
we all were talking kindergarten and it goes from state
to state and every school had a.

Speaker 2 (56:12):
Girl that let's say there was a hot dog involved.
Every every there with all this.

Speaker 1 (56:17):
Kid with a cat or something. When you cook them, yeah,
yeah exactly. So Hey, your your weird stories will take them. Plus,
we need a contestant right now. If you want to
play Iron Mike Trivia, We're gonna give away a cavine

Speaker 2 (57:02):
Yay, what's going on?

Speaker 8 (57:03):
Guy?

Speaker 1 (57:04):
That we having a clear death dye conversation right now? Yes,
I don't mean to found felf and Grand diving. But
I heard about the Tank David Jake Paul fight, and
I'm just I'm here to say I'm very disappointed. Like
it sounds very foolish to me, very stupid. I mean, Mike, you'retho.
They you were in the ring with him a year ago.
What's gonna happen?

Speaker 10 (57:21):
Right?

Speaker 1 (57:21):
I feel if Jake Paul should fight anybody, it should
be a competitive fight, at least with a fifty eight
year old Mike tythan not a one hundred and thirty
five pounds thirty thirty year old little man.

Speaker 2 (57:31):
Well, Mike, let's get into this.

Speaker 1 (57:33):
We we do some trivia, we give away prizes, Iron
Mike Trivia again, multiple choice Danny.

Speaker 3 (57:38):
So yeah, let's meet the contestants. Twenty five time winner
Rich Davis right over there, in for eighteen care about hey,
Monty there? I was gonna say, in for eighteen time
champ Dan Byer, it's Mancy blog and looking to win.

Speaker 2 (57:51):
Great to see you. You're you're way better looking at
Dan Bayer.

Speaker 3 (57:55):
Looking to win and seeing our prize on our studio lines.

Stop telling our business. If a tea cupp with you, Greg?

Speaker 3 (58:30):
Really quick? What do you do for a living there
in Orlando?

Speaker 17 (58:33):
Hour for a non profit junior Achievement. We specialize in
teaching financial literacy to students.

Speaker 2 (58:39):
That is so so important, so important, so important. Good
job man.

Speaker 3 (58:43):
Here are the rules for Iron Mike Trivia. The first
contestant with two correct answers is the champ. If there's
a tie, we have a tie breaker question. Your name
is your buzzer, but you do have to wait until
all three possible answers are read. If there's two wrong
answers in row, we move on to the next question.
Are you ready? Let's get it out?

Speaker 1 (58:59):
Hey, guys, always the pleasure to be here. Mike Tython
on a very special Monday, now Round one. Everybody knows
I love tigers, and I obtained two of my three beautiful,
precious tigers during my horrendous time in prison in nineteen
ninety two.

Speaker 2 (59:16):
Their names were A Kenya Storm and.

Speaker 1 (59:20):
Boris b Lily Lightning and Bruce or c Lorna Thunder.

Speaker 4 (59:28):
And Hobbs Monsy Monsy Is it b No?

Speaker 2 (59:32):
No, I would never name it Bruce. It's hard for
me to say.

Speaker 3 (59:38):
That's what I was thinking, Greg, Greg, You're gonna all right,
Greg for the steal a A.

Speaker 1 (59:45):
Is correct, right, And it makes me sad to think
about Kenya's Storm and Boris all right?

Speaker 3 (59:51):
Greg is halfway to a CNUR prizes.

Speaker 2 (59:53):
They're a beautiful cat.

Speaker 3 (59:54):
Yes, stay were We move on to round two.

Speaker 2 (59:57):
Round two.

Speaker 1 (59:58):
I was once famously I once famously said this about
being a champion. A. To be a great champion, you
must believe you are the best. If you're not, pretend
you are. B I feel like I was the champ
even before I was, because I predicted every last detail
in my mind or C.

Speaker 2 (01:00:20):
I knew I was going.

Speaker 1 (01:00:21):
To be superb, superb champion the moment I walked into
the after party and there were ten models and trades
of seafood.

Speaker 3 (01:00:31):
Greg going for the win, b No, Monty for the steal.
A is correct.

Speaker 1 (01:00:41):
I said to be a great champion, you must believe
you're the best.

Speaker 2 (01:00:45):
If you're not, pretend you are.

Speaker 3 (01:00:47):
All right, So Greg and Monci both on the board
as we moved around.

Speaker 2 (01:00:50):
Three No trades of seafood.

Speaker 1 (01:00:53):
No, but I like seafood. I don't need crustaceans seafood.

Speaker 3 (01:00:58):
All right, Round three?

Speaker 2 (01:01:00):
I'm three.

Speaker 1 (01:01:00):
Okay, let's let's test your tremendous brains. In boxing, which
weight comes between flyweight and featherweight? Is it a cruiserweight?
Is it B lightweight or C bantamweight?

Speaker 3 (01:01:17):
Greg, Greg, We'll just see you're saying bantamweight, and you
are right the winner. Greg wins the game.

Speaker 1 (01:01:26):
Hey, I think you're wondering in between flyweight and featherweight.
Bantamweight is one hundred and eighteen pounds in boxing. That's
pretty much where Tank David is. He's fighting a gigantic
heavyweight Jake Paul, which you're simply foolish because I deserve
a rematch.

Speaker 10 (01:01:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:01:40):
I knew you were going to circle background to that.
All right, Thank you, Greg, you are the winner. Hang
on the line, We're gonna get your info and send
out a prize to you once the footballs arrive.

Speaker 1 (01:01:49):
Just wanted to say thanks to Greg, and I just
want to say by the monthy and hopefully we could ride.

Speaker 2 (01:01:53):
We got Peter Pan's magical flight together. Oh well, definitely
write that sounds like a plan.

Speaker 3 (01:01:58):
Thank you, Mike, thank you, Iron, Mike, appreciate.

Speaker 2 (01:02:00):
You by Guy Tho and Orlando by Guy Fine.

Speaker 1 (01:02:04):
You know, as we get to Monci's updating a seke
at Manzi, what what do you think about that Jake
Paul Tank Davis fight. I mean, he's one hundred and
thirty pounds. Jake Paul's like two hundred pounds. He's like
Jake Paul's six foot, two hundred pounds.

Speaker 4 (01:02:15):
I didn't care about the fights before, definitely don't care
about this one because of what you just said. It's
a it's a listen if you're entertained by it, by
all means, I'm just not entertaining.

Speaker 1 (01:02:25):
I heard you on the Odd Couple, yes, and you
had a similar apathetic stance. You said though you would
watch if you are a friend's house and they had
it on watch, but you just don't.

Speaker 4 (01:02:34):
It's just not for me totally to Like, if my
friends want to hang out and they want to watch, sure,
I'll come over, have some food, have some drinks. But
it's not going to be something I choose to do.

Speaker 2 (01:02:43):
Okay, you know that's fair. Yeah, she's not wasting her time. Yeah,
I don't have to pay for it.

Speaker 1 (01:02:48):
No, it's on Netflix. Oh it's on Netflix.

Speaker 4 (01:02:51):
Well I already paid for that Flix apathetic.

Speaker 1 (01:02:53):
MANSI, mister wonderful. Who do you think of Paul Orndorf?
The rest of Kevin Leary Shark? Kevin O'Leary's in the
news today. You know what he did, Kevin O'Leary, He
told someone to take their idea behind the barn and
shoot it. Yes, that's exactly what he did. He is
now the co owner of the most expensive sports car

(01:03:15):
in the world, the Michael Jordan Kobe Bryant Logo Man
One of One. Just announced that he purchased it for
twelve point nine million dollars his group. So again, it's
a Logo Man one of one and it's the most
expensive sports card now of all time. And that beats
Speaking of baseball, the nineteen fifty two Tops Mickey Mantle card,

(01:03:38):
which I believe sold for twelve point six million dollars.
So this card over twelve point nine million dollars. And
it's a nice card. It's two game worn patches, the logo,
the NBA logo, and on one side is Kobe and
Kobe's autograph. On the right side is Jordan and Jordan's autograph.
And mister wonderful bought that today.

Speaker 2 (01:03:59):
How who was that?

Speaker 1 (01:04:00):
I have the dumbest idea go ahead. Well, first of all,
that's pretty awesome. Kobe Jordan one of one. I don't
want to brush past that. But and a new number
one card in town. Yeah, because when you said Mickey Mantle, No,
my thought was, as kids, we were always conditioned to
think the greatest card of all time was Honus Wagner.

Speaker 3 (01:04:18):
Right.

Speaker 1 (01:04:18):
That was like when you were a little kid, like
for some reason, Honus Wagner was the card that, like
you talked about at the baseball card shop.

Speaker 2 (01:04:26):
Right, Yeah, for sure, Yeah, tobacco card. And what year
is that? In nineteen fifty two? Mickey Mantle.

Speaker 1 (01:04:30):
Yeah, the fifty two Mantle was twelve point six million dollars.
I give you a sci fi plot real quick. We
have two minutes left on the show. What if I
told you, Steve Cavino, I'm sending you back how I
tained fifty two, three years before the Enchantment into the
Sea Dance. Okay, but you had an hour in nineteen

(01:04:51):
fifty two. You had one hour, and then all of a
sudden you came back to twenty twenty five. This would
not be enough time to invest in something or do
something that could change your future.

Speaker 2 (01:05:02):
Stars.

Speaker 1 (01:05:03):
But what if I told you the best bet might
be buy a box of baseball cards, bury them somewhere,
and then when you come back to twenty twenty five,
be like, fine, you know, remember where you'd bury. It
sounds ridiculous, but it's actually a pretty decent idea knowing
the value of telling me if you tell me a
mint Mantle was twelve and a half million dollars if

(01:05:23):
you were back in nineteen fifty two, for like I said,
I but it was I think it was like graded
nine some ninety five or something. I was saying, it
was a pretty remarkable card. But I'm just saying in general,
if you went back there, you wouldn't have time to
go to the bank, open you know, an account, invest
in a stock, or do it. If you were flashback
at time, it would honestly buy boxes of baseball cards
and like bury them somewhere in a bag. Well this card, right, yeah,

(01:05:47):
it says congratulations you received the Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan's
game used trading card with personal autograph from these athletes.
It's like it comes with the whole full on congratulations
and mister wonderful is that guy?

Speaker 10 (01:06:01):
Man?

Speaker 1 (01:06:01):
I hope you enjoy this piece of basketball history and
keep the game close as you can get it pretty cool. Hey, listen,
we'll see you guys back here tomorrow. Until then, have
a great one a ribadrci baby, see you in the
Promised Land. Goodbye, guys,
