So hope all your team's won. We have lots to
get to in the world of the NFL and MLB.
We do it every Monday. We call it Things that
made you go hmmm. We're giving away prizes last one standing.

(01:37):
And as far as today, Richie said, you're exhausted, gonna
be more exhausted with all this action we got going
on tonight. You got a double doozy of NFL football,
you got two great baseball games. So we're gonna tell
you what matters most later today. Lots to get to.
Like I said, before we get into all that, I
just have something I wanted to bring up because I

(01:58):
feel like I'm a pretty casual, laid back guy. When
it comes to like, you know, people go into stores
and places with their pets. I understand you're going to
get takeout you're walking your dog. It's more of a thing.
And by the way, Rich isn't talking yo yo tricks.
Iowa Sam when he says walking your dog, man, we
know we're gonna talk about yoyo's. We know Sam's a
duncan master, he's a champion, but we're talking la which

(02:23):
is next to level different. You don't think it's not. No,
it's way worse here in Los angelescause everybod walks around
their foofye dog and they think they could do whatever
they want. Social media change that everyone's foofy dogs and people, Dude,
when I go back to Jersey, even Jerseys nowhere near
as bad as it is here in California, as far
as people bring their doggie into every establishment because they

(02:48):
think they can. There's signs outside of the mall here,
right right outside of the mall, signs don't bring fluffers
into the establishment. And people don't give a diddley squat,
and they do it anyway that they were gonna use
the phrase mangy mud. They're still getting their mangy mud
in regardless because they think it's their baby. I will

(03:08):
roll my eyes at a lot of people, but I
understand it. Yeah, I love my dog going to get takeout.
You're going to get you know, food somewhere running errand
a oh man, I gotta go get some batteries at CBS. Ah,
but I'm walking my dog. I'm not a jerk about it.
I will roll my eyes at you. But I saw
something at Chipotle that I I can't allow in my mind.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
But I did. You have to get it off your
handsome gentleman's chest.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
If you look on my Instagram story, if you think
I'm BS and you I go to Chipotle last night
after my daughter's softball game. Oh, I believe that, and
down for some Chipotle. Let me get a little burrito ball.
Feel good about myself. The word the best of the
fast food out there? Right, You don't feel bad after
having Chipotle?

Speaker 3 (03:52):
Like?

Speaker 4 (03:52):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (03:52):
I do?

Speaker 2 (03:53):
Actually because heavy? I feel like I eat all that.
I'm like, Oh you feel Heavyerd.

Speaker 4 (03:57):
I think there's a lot of sodium.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
Yeah, after a giant brito bowl taco bell, love it
more sodium.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
Don't get it twisted. I'll house that of all the things,
I feel heavy afterwards. I don't know.

Speaker 2 (04:07):
You asked me, I say brown rish, I'm not saying
it's not the hell that courses, but it sits heavy
on you.

Speaker 5 (04:11):
I think, yeah, I'm the rich. I think Chipotle is
you feel much better after eating that than like.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
Anything, because you know it's not that bad for it.
It's a lot more fresh.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
Right behind them, they're cooking the chicken on the ground.
You got chicken and guak over rice, like that's the same.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
Is a healthy?

Speaker 6 (04:24):
I said?

Speaker 4 (04:24):
It feels heavy and a lot of us a rich
ruin it with forty five chips and gualk and sour creamy.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
For every tortilla chip, for every four tortilla chips, that's
one tortilla case. So don't get all that corn. I'm
in line waiting. I take a double take. The guy
in front of me, did you just chug a monster
energy drink?

Speaker 1 (04:46):
What are you?

Speaker 2 (04:46):
Twenty five? Going to the club? I'm the beacon of health.
Continue he's telling me about Chipotle. This guy is ruining
his insides. His insides are rotting. Sugar free, bro stuff's corrosive.

Speaker 1 (04:56):
Getting that. By the way, if it's if it's sugar free,
what do you think is in there? I don't know.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
I found it in the free If you found in
the fridge huh, somebody, you're probably missing one, right man,
I think they are, So tell me about your Covino's
like finders Keepers. I'm like, dude, he was in the fridge,
losers weepers. So anyway, love story show, we're gonna get that.
This one sponsored by ed Gean stop it Mothers sponsored

(05:19):
by Bo Benson. Mother says not to drink energy drinks,
they're for Jezebels. But I couldn't swear on that that.
Ed Geen is the number one stream show around the
country and world right now, and I've yet to watch
Monsters called Monster. It's It's good for the spooky season
about the guy who inspired Silence of the Lambs, Psycho
Texas Chainsaw a masker. This guy did some crazy things,

(05:41):
but it's more of a fictional story than anything.

Speaker 1 (05:43):
What up Dan is The.

Speaker 7 (05:44):
Where it happened is not too far from where my
sister lives, and maybe about a little more than an
hour from my hometown Mainfield, right yes, smack dab in
the middle of the great state of Wisconsin, and you
could take a short cut on a highway to go
to my sister's town. To go right through Plainfield just
gives me the Willies.

Speaker 2 (06:04):
Has been doing that impression off the air for like
two weeks. Now, I would I didn't know what he's doing.
I didn't even know he had like a very Bobby
Bouchet mother situation going. Let me tell you, Charlie Hanham,
women love that dude. Apparently it's like award winning performance again.
I digress. I metropol in front of me. I posted

(06:24):
on my Instagram story at Rich Davis. If you want
to say, some young twenty something year old kid is
ordering his food and he has a cat on his head.

Speaker 1 (06:34):
He has like a cat crawling from shoulders shoulder over
his head and he's leaning over.

Speaker 2 (06:38):
Like o' get corn and soa cream and gualk and
you know, trying to detract from the fact that you
steal so much from that place with your utensils and napkins.
He's the bad guy for the taken em video.

Speaker 5 (06:53):
Sam, No, he was a legitimate video of Rich stealing
napkins and forks and saw it.

Speaker 1 (06:57):
It was real.

Speaker 2 (06:58):
But my point is, what do you do if you
see someone at a fast food place like a subway
or Chipotle where the food is literally out out there,
exposed and open, and some DRABBRONI in front of you
has a cat crawling on their.

Speaker 4 (07:12):
Shoulders carrier, not in a little kennel.

Speaker 1 (07:15):
I think, I really do.

Speaker 2 (07:16):
If you're a grown adult and you try to do
things the responsible way, you're a good guy. I think
you have the right. They say it takes a village, right.
You see some young idiot doing young idiot things. I
don't think you need to be mean about it and overstep,
but you call him out and just say something that
addresses the fact that you recognize that he's an idiot.

Speaker 4 (07:36):
So agreed, we're.

Speaker 1 (07:37):
Gonna move into the NFL.

Speaker 2 (07:38):
Now hold on, but would I would love for your
thoughts at covin on Rich if you want to hit
us up if you see someone Have you seen the
picture on my Instagram story.

Speaker 5 (07:46):
I saw the story and the cat was, yeah, on
the shoulders, and I don't even know if that violates
health regulations.

Speaker 1 (07:52):
But I went to a movie.

Speaker 5 (07:53):
I went to a movie last Thursday and someone brought
their duction puppy into one battle after another, which is
full of explosions. I'm like, that poor dog just had
PTSD and then on the way out, I'm sorry the
Karen and Meek emerged and I walked up and I said, hey,
did your dog enjoy the movie?

Speaker 4 (08:09):
And there's this young woman. It was a young woman
and her.

Speaker 5 (08:11):
Boyfriend who was got her Sam, who's like in their
early twenties, and the she turns on, she's like ah,
and I'm like, yeah, I don't know, it's a little
loud in there.

Speaker 4 (08:17):
I just walked off.

Speaker 5 (08:18):
I couldn't help myself because that dog just suffered through
three and a half, three hours of explosions.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
That's the adult. What are you doing exactly? You're an adult,
and you addressed it, like why are you being such
an idiot? That's idiotic. That's a young screw up. I
think you don't have to be rude about it. You
don't have to be a Karen or a Darren or
a Salmon. I couldn't help myself, Sam.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
I think that's fine. You know, hey it what's going on?
What's going on?

Speaker 6 (08:41):
Hey?

Speaker 2 (08:41):
Cat Stevens, what's up? And he turns around like what.
I'm like, yeah, I mean I just noticed you here
with a cat, you know, yo, what's up?

Speaker 1 (08:46):
Cool? For cats?

Speaker 4 (08:47):
What up?

Speaker 1 (08:48):
Catman? What a cat man? Don't? Catman? Don't? Why are
you calling me that? Because you're not supposed to do that.
Cat Man don't. Did you cool for cats?

Speaker 3 (08:56):
Not?

Speaker 1 (08:56):
Catman do? Cat Man don't? And then he's like, what
are you doing?

Speaker 2 (08:59):
And it is like nothing, I just don't know why
you're here with a cat, Like you don't need to
be rude about it. But it's like, I see you
with your cat and we're here trying to eat. So
I think you just call them out for being an
idiot cat guy in public, like you call him out,
you address him anyway you want, comes to make it brief.

Speaker 4 (09:15):
And get out.

Speaker 1 (09:16):
You're an idiot and you shouldn't be doing that and something.

Speaker 2 (09:19):
And since everyone's tippy toeing around these situations today because
no one wants to be filmed on social media, you
know I'm recording it that you're cat shaming me you
no one wants to get involved in that. That everyone's
scared to speak up. But if you're a responsible adult
with some sort of wherewithal and head on your shoulders,

(09:40):
you call them out. Yo, man, what are you doing
with a cat? We're eating here? What are you jug zotic? Yo?

Speaker 1 (09:46):
Yeah? Tiger King?

Speaker 5 (09:48):
Can I add something here? I think it's both. Maybe
it's an la a thing.

Speaker 1 (09:51):
Hey cut through Gable Williams.

Speaker 4 (09:52):
People are all eat it.

Speaker 5 (09:54):
People treat their their pets like their babies in la
more than other places.

Speaker 1 (09:58):
But you'll just fading it.

Speaker 5 (10:00):
It's something I've seen more in the last twenty five
years that animals, especially pets, are showing up in places
that they never used to because people are getting very
comfortable with that right, And I think that's something we
need to kind of we need to rewind a little bit,
We need to bring it, call it back and be like,
this is not a place for your pet to be
in the movie theater, at at Chipotle, just hanging on
your shoulders.

Speaker 4 (10:16):
It's just not it's not okay because there's other people
who have objections to that.

Speaker 1 (10:19):
People treat it about.

Speaker 2 (10:20):
People treat it like, oh, don't you think it's cute? No,
and just leave your cat. Your cat's fine. And by
the way, for the record, we're all animal lovers. No
one's here being anti animals. What's aout appropriate? It's appropriate?
And how do you make that point heard without feeling
like a jerk about it? You know, you're allowed to
oppose things, but still be a nice human Like I

(10:42):
got two little kids. Guess where I don't think little
kids belong formal events and weddings and people that bring
their kids like late night to a bar Ace and Roy,
what are you doing? What are we doing? Would you say,
I don't know. You're here with your cats. I don't
know what you're doing.

Speaker 1 (10:56):
What you're doing? Well, let's get into it NFL. Things
made you go hmmm, things that make you go, things
that make you go, boy, what's up? Dan Bayer.

Speaker 7 (11:11):
Julio Rodriguez three run homer on top of the first
inning Mariners lead the Blue Jays, and Rose Arena was
hit by a pitch. Cal Rawley walked and then Jay
rod the three run shot, three nothing. Now there's an outrecorded,
but there was three to nothing, but no watts recorded.

Speaker 4 (11:28):
At one point it.

Speaker 1 (11:29):
Wasn't that the pitcher that schooled the Yankees?

Speaker 2 (11:31):
Yeah, hold on, I'm glad you said that, Dan Bayer,
thank you for the update your thoughts on this too,
because as we get into things that made you go hmmm,
it's usually mostly primarily about football, and we'll continue with
that right Week six of the NFL. But there's a
lot of great baseball that fifteen inning game. We'll talk
about it a lot of things made me say hmm
as a Yankees fan, I find it amazing to see what.

Speaker 1 (11:55):
The Mariners are able to do against the Blue Jays.

Speaker 2 (11:58):
How they're able to shut them down or have these
role players step up when it's necessary, doing things that
the Yankees couldn't do. Yep, is just amazing to it. It
makes me go like, Wow, what sort of magic are
they made of here?

Speaker 1 (12:11):
This is great?

Speaker 2 (12:12):
Well it is only the first, but still a three
spot in the top of the first really is.

Speaker 1 (12:17):
A nice little cushion for Seattle.

Speaker 2 (12:19):
All right, now, Things that made you go hmm, I mean,
I'm in a really good mood today. You wouldn't think
that because the first thing that made me go Fred Warner,
the heart and soul the forty nine Ers defense. One
of the most likable guys in football. Forget that I'm
a Niners fan. Danny g We met him at the
Super Bowl. Just a delight, like just a great guy.

(12:39):
Him and his wife were fantastic. Like everything about Fred
Warner is football, we could all agree one of the
one of the deep probably.

Speaker 4 (12:46):
Was one of the friendliest guys that entire week at
the Super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (12:49):
You know what made me saying hm, I mean, so
many unfortunate injuries this year. Add him to the list.
This sentry you were like you were from monthre Intrey.
You can't stop purees.

Speaker 1 (12:59):
Mother.

Speaker 2 (12:59):
Man, I can't wait for you to stumble on something.
Mother said. The injury they just the part of life.
But I can't thwear on it. What I noticed was
how composed he was. Yeah, after a gruesome injury, like
the guy breaks his ankle, and he's sitting there like
like just chilling, like wouldn't you believe it? Like no

(13:22):
sort of grimacing, at least not when they were carting
them off. He was sitting there just thumbs up, like, hey,
what are you gonna do? Like his whole demeanor and
attitude about the whole thing was just sort of like, hey,
you know, hurt, what's up? What you know happens? Which
is kind of amazing because he had to be in pain,
not not only had to be in pain. They threw
the air cast on right. My thought was, if you're

(13:42):
a Niners fan like I am, and we're gonna get
to every game and every team. But my first thought
when I saw many injuries, bro, when I saw that
was all right, you were trying to overcome the Nick
post Well, you were trying to overcome the Nick Bosa injury.
There was rumors of like, oh, the Niners one of
the teams that might go off to Hendrickson on the
Bengals and maybe trying to fill that void.

Speaker 1 (13:59):
Who who knows.

Speaker 2 (14:00):
But you lose Fred Warner now and your defense, no
matter how effective Robert sala is, no Moosa, no Warner,
no playoff run like you might, you know, have a schedule,
m it's a push when everybody's team has people hurt,
like the Buccaneers. You just got balled out by Baker Mayfield.

(14:22):
Just give him the credit because he had no receivers
and he made something of nothing, food fighter style. He
made something of nothing, made superstars out of the Johnson's
made some great plays. But I feel like it's kind
of a push when you play some of these other
teams down the line because everybody's hurt.

Speaker 4 (14:39):
Yeah, and we've seen all the key positions in the NFL.
As soon as week two, week three, we were having
major injuries. Rich I feel your pain because I haven't
got to watch Brock Bauers catch and run all season.
There's been o linemen down for my favorite team, key
positions we've been seeing. You talked about why you think

(14:59):
these are happening, these injuries a couple of weeks ago.

Speaker 2 (15:02):
I feel like that conversation is more relevant than ever before.
I said, everyone's just so big and strong, and because
of that, a little fred Gila, the burst of energy,
the maybe you're just messing with your fast twitch muscles
too much with all this extra workout, overly pumped, too muscular,
I don't know, pushing too hard, too explosive, too many injuries.

Speaker 7 (15:25):
You're and I'm glad you guys are saying that because
I think that the forty nine ers have recognizable injuries.

Speaker 1 (15:31):
Right, you just named that. It's the who's who, and you're.

Speaker 7 (15:34):
Talking about a quarterback like the Cardinals yesterday, somehow they
compete with the Colts. They lost Marvin Harrison Junior in
the game. They're down their two running backs, James Connor
and Trey Benson, weren't playing No Kyler Murray yesterday. Danny
just read off his litany of players for the Raiders.
Seahawks were out three starters, forty percent of their secondary mom.

Speaker 1 (15:54):
When the lines.

Speaker 7 (15:55):
The lines last night against Kansas City were five defensive
backs they had five defensive backs out when they lost
in the playoffs to Washington.

Speaker 2 (16:02):
It's just I mean, and we mentioned the Buccaneers receivers,
the Buccaneers no series Godwin, no Evans, no Bucky Irving,
like nothing, and then you could go through each roster
and Kevino's right, is it one big unfortunate push because
it's like, I'm injured, Well so were you. I think
it will be right when you get pretty back, you know,
because everybody is missing somebody important.

Speaker 1 (16:22):
It seems like this.

Speaker 7 (16:23):
The amazing thing about Rich's team is that Christian McCaffrey
hasn't been hurt right like.

Speaker 1 (16:27):
The old it's the old switch around, yeah.

Speaker 2 (16:29):
Be able to pivot, you know, receiving a little more,
you know, switching up his gameplay as a result. So
it's how these teams pivot. Oh, I'm sorry to add
to the list because he's such a great guy that's
been on our show as well.

Speaker 1 (16:40):
I felt I felt bad.

Speaker 2 (16:41):
It's not a long injury, I think, but pookin the
Coupa down yesterday, it could be weak.

Speaker 1 (16:45):
So when everything he was.

Speaker 4 (16:47):
On pace for a two thousand yard season.

Speaker 2 (16:49):
When every notable player and and Dan Byers right, and
and non notable. You know, it's wild to think that
there's not one team that's not just it's got to
be saying something about the state of football right now.
So is it forty nine ers done? Or is just
injury in the water? Is just more part of this

(17:10):
season than ever before? That's really the question. But it
makes you go, hmm, it's a two part hmm, Niners done?
And why so many injuries?

Speaker 4 (17:18):
Hmmm?

Speaker 2 (17:19):
A lot of big names going down? Well, you know
in forty nine has got a lot of big names.
We mentioned We mentioned Baker Mayfield in that conversation. Yes,
I said Menchin, I said, look at Rich's face and meanchin.

Speaker 4 (17:34):
How about how the Ravens entire team imploded after the
Lamar Jackson injury?

Speaker 2 (17:40):
Oh well, you know what, let me tie that into
what I was gonna say. Do you mean the one
in five Ravens. Everybody likes to talk about Lamar Jackson
and how he works the pocket, how he scrambles, how
he moves.

Speaker 1 (17:52):
People want to talk about Josh Allen all the time.

Speaker 2 (17:54):
Now he's just setting a different sort of bar as
far as quarterback. How about Baker Mayfield? Is this the
weekend where he gets to credit because after that game,
you heard the chance, there was some confusion. I saw
Johnson thought it was for him, MVP was for Baker Mayfield.
It went from Baker Mayfield, Wow, man, what a turnaround
to MVP just like that. And I read something over

(18:17):
the weekend. I thought it was so great and it
was just a meme, but it's so true. It said,
Baker Mayfield is the Tom Brady of Johnny Manziel's. Baker
Mayfield is the Tom Brady Mite of Johnny Manziel's. For
whatever reason, that just hits so perfectly because you understand
what that means. He has that way about him, right,
he had that recklessness of a Johnny Manziel, same sort

(18:39):
of guy and in a lot.

Speaker 1 (18:41):
Of ways, talker, he's under Tom Brady. Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (18:46):
And that's how I saw another related meme. It said,
don't blame the young quarterback, blame the crappy franchise and
it was a picture of Baker, Daniel Jones and Sam Donald.

Speaker 1 (18:55):
It just again, that's why.

Speaker 2 (18:58):
When do we start putting him in that category of yes,
not just Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen, Like, there's guys
like Baker Mayfield that are really leading their team, because
you could see how contagious his play really is. He
might be the most exciting player to watch in football,
and now I think everybody's taken note when he's doing
it against your forty nine ers.

Speaker 4 (19:16):
And week after week, did you guys see how his
rookie wide receiver Tesz Johnson scored a TD? He heard
MVP chance and he looked, he said, he looked around
and he's like, oh really, and then he's like, oh,
I realized they were chanting for my quarterback.

Speaker 2 (19:30):
That was so funny. And that was one hell of
a catch, dude. He caught the the bottom half of
the football, the bottom of it. I don't know how
he caught that, perfect pass, perfect catch. And you know,
it took some perfect plays Rich to beat your forty
nine ers, but then they ran away with it thirty nineteen.
But again we went from man, he's unbelievable to he's
MVP just like you know what, you know, it's a

(19:50):
really interesting starts of now week six, nice Spotty.

Speaker 1 (19:54):
And your new setup. Does he even microphone in his
new little setup over there? Spout what you did? What's
your favorite? Freddi Prince junior Rachel Cook movie from the nineties.
She's all that.

Speaker 2 (20:03):
Remember when she was like hot and we had to
pretend she wasn't because she had glasses on. And then
like they're like and if Freddie Print Junior took off
her glasses the old Clark Kent sort of thing, like
she took off her glasses and like shook her hair.
Oh my god, she's super hot. Now, Oh she was
a nerd, you guys said, every team in the NFL
had a shot at Baker Mayfield. Yeah, and they looked

(20:25):
at him like some sort of damaged goods or you know,
the Rams took him up on that.

Speaker 1 (20:29):
One game where it was like a Mayfield bust.

Speaker 2 (20:32):
Yeah, and every team and you can say that about
every draft, right, well, you passed on this guy. But
Baker Mayfield showed signs in Cleveland even as a young man,
and he took that bunk organization brought him to the
playoffs a couple time. You can also say that's that's
what fuels that fire man, because he just plays an
aggressive style of football. It was that anyone could get
down with it. There was a joy a great clip

(20:54):
last night. There was a it was floating around social media.
It was Chris collins Worth hanging from the wavo. So
Patrick Mahomes like he always does, and it was Mahomes,
you know, did some sweet move deep the runner, you know,
gained the first down. He's like, man, I don't know
who could make a play like that.

Speaker 1 (21:11):
What other quarterbacks are doing that? What other quarterback can
do that?

Speaker 2 (21:14):
And it cuts to Baker Mayfield on a third and fourteen,
joking like fifteen, you know, twelve, Yeah, making a sweet
run for it and then a ridiculous pass. So Baker
Mayfield's in that conversation now, and we got to keep
that in our forefront because there's more than just two

(21:35):
great quarterbacks, three great quarterbacks in this league right now.
So things that made you go hmmm, we still got
to talk cowboys. We still got to talk some baseball.
I made some baseball observations over the weekend. And we
get you involved next Fox Sports Radio Nation. So write
this down eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox, or

(21:56):
by the way, your boy, George Springer just missed elite
off home run by inches foul and then you just
hit one off the fence on the next pitch.

Speaker 1 (22:06):
So mean my boy, Yeah, I mean, I'm the guy you.

Speaker 2 (22:08):
Loved them when he was on the ass d Yeah,
you got you gotta battle back this Mariners are up
to nothing, all right? We got more Covine on Rich

Speaker 2 (23:34):
Swat our video guy has hidden microphones in here so
he knows what we're talking about him.

Speaker 1 (23:38):
Absolutely yeah, I thought so.

Speaker 2 (23:40):
We have two pas of Hispanic heritage months so botos
Locos forever.

Speaker 1 (23:45):
You guys got a nice weekend really quick.

Speaker 4 (23:46):
I just want to make a suggestion. When the show
is ending, before odd couple gets in, walk around the
studio and unplug cameras and make sure everything's unplugged from
the outfits.

Speaker 2 (23:56):
By the way, that was Spot's biggest pepee, right, people
touch things out here, touching everyone.

Speaker 1 (24:01):
That's a whole conversation for another day.

Speaker 2 (24:03):
I don't even understand what goes on after hours here,
but it needs to stop and I don't want to
sound like the old cranky veteran, but it's like I
don't get that at all. So don't my equipment, don't
touch to your court tech equipment, and don't go to
Chipotle with cats on your head.

Speaker 1 (24:19):
That's the lesson today. And stay down for lunch.

Speaker 2 (24:22):
All right, let's get we got last one standing in
a well, I'll say a few minutes. But during the show,
so your chance to win some prizes. We're gonna give
thanks to the Canadians on Canadian Thanksgiving Day. But first
and first mostly, let's see what's up to d beat
Dan Byer.

Speaker 7 (24:37):
The greatest of the Hey, guys, we saw the Mariners
jump out to that three to nothing lead to Julio
Rodriguez the three run home run. But give the Blue
Jays credit. They have bounced back right and two on
the board in the bottom half of the first inning.
It's three two Mariners heading to the second inning. You
can see it on Fox and on FS one. It's
Game two of the ALCS with the Mariners up one

(24:58):
to oh in the best of seven series and up
on the scoreboard right now three to two over Toronto
again in the second inning, Brewers finally settled on a
starting pitcher. It's going to be Aaron Ashby. Tonight he'll
face the Dodgers Blake Snell in Game one of the
National League Championship Series. That's on TBS just after eight
o'clock Eastern time. Padre skipper Mike Shilt has announced his
retirement after spending just two seasons in San Diego, signing

(25:19):
the mental and physical toll of the job as the
reason he's stepping aside. Titans a fired head coach Brian
Callahan just four to nineteen, where the Titans under Callahan's leadership,
Former Chargers head coach Mike McCoy is going to serve
as the interimed coach for the rest of the season.
There's a Monday night doubleheader tonight Bill's and Falcons, followed
by the Bears and Commanders. Ceedee Lamb could be back

(25:40):
for their matchup with the Commanders coming up in week seven.
That was the message from Cowboys executive vice president Stephen
Jones to one oh five point three the Fan. There's
a doubleheader next week as well, one of the games
Buccaneers taking on the Lions. Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles
has already ruled out Bucky Irving and Chris Godwin for
that game, while Amecca Buka is going to have more
testing done on his injured hamstring. The Lions right now

(26:02):
will be without defensive back Brian Branch. He was suspended
one game for hitting Juju Smith Schuster of the Chiefs
during the postgame handshake. Branches the opportunity opportunity to appeal
that suspension, and that was in the post game. In
the pregame, Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson suffered an eye injury
working with exercise bands. Colts placed him on ir today

(26:24):
with the fractured orbital bone from that incident.

Speaker 4 (26:26):
Guys, back to you.

Speaker 1 (26:27):
Damn Byern, that is a freak injury.

Speaker 2 (26:29):
And I'm telling you I had a very similar cutsy
thing happened to me. Ever during COVID when the beginning
of COVID, like gyms were even shut down.

Speaker 1 (26:38):
I was like, how could I work out at home?

Speaker 2 (26:40):
But does resistance bands and you know you could attach
things to you like a closet door. I had one
snap right on the top of my head and I
fell to the floor like, oh, My wife's like, are
you okay? I swear I was scared. If I had
a blue tint in my house, I would have went
in the blue tent. Oh god, but I hey wishing
him well And interestingly enough, that's a big test of

(27:02):
a game next week Lions Bucks.

Speaker 1 (27:06):
That could be a preview with something right there.

Speaker 2 (27:08):
Well, I'll tell you what, Dan Campbell wasn't happy at
the end of that game yesterday and how his team
reacted with that fight that was completely uncalled for. So
I don't know how you appeal that. You know, we
saw what happened. But thank you dB, Thank you Dan Byern.
Now we go to you, Fox Sports Radio Nation, Danny
g Iowa, Sam, Hey, body whoever wants to chime in

(27:29):
any of your observations this weekend in the world of football,
baseball entertainment. Maybe you went to see Tron in theaters.
I don't know, whatever's on your mind. It made you go,
Yo Rady, break it down. Ratings prediction from you. You
got a double doozy NFL and you got Dodgers, big
market team NFL wins. But by what margin do you
think Bears commanders? And then that's also ABC, right, So

(27:53):
we'll go Network versus TBS and TNT and that game's
also available on HBO Max. That it's fun to grave man,
because you know what, I think baseball wins. That we're
even having this conversation right now, because years ago we
would have never chose postseason baseball over.

Speaker 1 (28:09):
Any football game.

Speaker 2 (28:11):
And now you're seeing so much excitement you can't help
but go back and forth. I think it's gonna be
perhaps closer than you think. I'll say that than it
used to be.

Speaker 1 (28:19):
That's for sure. I means Dodgers Brewers holds some excitement there.

Speaker 4 (28:23):
Yeah, it does.

Speaker 1 (28:24):
And it's not.

Speaker 4 (28:24):
Like going to be flipping back and forth, back and forth. Yeah,
but I don't think.

Speaker 1 (28:27):
I mean, listen, the NFL is still king. It is.

Speaker 2 (28:30):
But the fact that you're even thinking about switching back
and forth, we weren't thinking that way years ago because
football was so on top of things.

Speaker 4 (28:38):
Can really quick. Can I give you, guys one quarterback
that impressed me yesterday?

Speaker 1 (28:42):
Yeah? Please do.

Speaker 4 (28:43):
And I have to give him some props because when
he's in the news, I always tell you, guys, I'm
gonna put you on a timer. Can only talk about
him for two minutes or four minutes. Aaron Rodgers, Those
passes he was throwing yesterday. I was really impressed. Man,
he does not look his age right now.

Speaker 2 (28:58):
That one to DK Metcalf that he had touch on
that old school Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 1 (29:02):
Touch Rogers, Rogers, and he's.

Speaker 2 (29:05):
Sitting pretty at four to one, two games ahead of
everyone else in the AFC North. No one saw that coming.
Speaking of quarterbacks, Danny G sent me a meme, so
it has to be true, but it really points out
the Cowboys defense.

Speaker 4 (29:21):
I double checked the Dak stats.

Speaker 2 (29:23):
Yeah, Dak Prescott the last three weeks, eight hundred and
seventeen passing yards, eleven tuddies, one I in t Yeah,
so Dak Prescott is putting up.

Speaker 1 (29:33):
Some good numbers. He's doing his part.

Speaker 2 (29:34):
He's doing his part. That the Dallas defense is ass.
They've given up ninety points in those three weeks. So
you know, regardless of how good your quarterback's playing, how
good your offense is clicking, if you're giving up ninety
points in those three weeks, you're ass.

Speaker 1 (29:47):
The defense is ass.

Speaker 2 (29:49):
That might be asked, Cowboys defense ass letting up thirty
points to the Panthers yesterday, and that win for them
if they only had an elite edge rusher or something. Right,
All right, let's go Lou and Tampa. Lou, you're on
with Covino on Rich your thoughts, things that age you.

Speaker 3 (30:04):
Go, Hm, hey buddy, thanks guys, good talking to you.
I just wanted to get the word out there that
I think these injuries are having because of this extra game.
You know, it's been a couple of years now with
seventeen games, and it's not just one team playing another game.
Maybe just your team, but that's a lot of games,
a lot of players, and look at the injuries. I
don't know how it could be reputed.

Speaker 2 (30:24):
I mean, it could be the extra game. But I'll
go with a combination of a few things. Lou I
said it last week. You can put Lou back on Lou.

Speaker 3 (30:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (30:34):
Last week we're talking about how as players and athletes
and humans. I know it sounds like like a stoner fall,
like we're all just getting bigger and stronger. But as
we do get faster, bigger, stronger, these these twitch muscles
and the way the way these athletes move at the
size they are, there's no surprise that we're like you
could think of name any team and you're missing a guy.

(30:56):
Giants Molik neighbors out forty nine ers, Boso Warner, name Burrow,
Lamar Jackson. Every team there's elite superstars missing from every
team absolutely.

Speaker 3 (31:07):
And then like the jumping and the landing and the
twisting and everything like that. The weight, I don't know,
the muscles are joints are supposed to do that. It's
happened in basketball too.

Speaker 1 (31:18):
It's the athletics.

Speaker 3 (31:20):
Practices are like less, you know, so that they're not
getting warmed up, they're not getting trained the way they
were while back.

Speaker 1 (31:28):
Yeah, damn Buyer.

Speaker 2 (31:29):
You you and I love to talk about the history
of the NFL, and I'm thinking you like, you know,
even a wide receiver like Jerry Rice elite or your
dude Steve Largent with his face mask with the smaller bars.
I'm a good old Steve Largent. Yeah, but look at
their fristike there. They have the same physique as your
dad did in the eighties, thinking of like a Mark
Duper or you know, these guys were athletic, but were

(31:51):
they jumping and twisting and tiptoeing on the sideline the
way the guys are now. It's just might we might
just remembering incorrectly. But I feel like they were at fleetes.
But what athletes are doing now is so different.

Speaker 7 (32:03):
I think it's a different game right now because I'm
just just even going back to the nineties and trying
to think of like the wide receivers that we had there.
I felt like there were athletic guys. There were size
guys like remember Herman Moore with the Lions, big size guys.
But I feel like things changed a little bit with

(32:24):
Randy Moss coming into the league. Think him, Yeah, how
freak of an athlete that he was. And now it's
transitioned to a point where you just have not a
bunch of guys like Randy Moss. But yeah, it just
it felt like to me like there was a time where,
like the big receiver, you weren't looking at the best
athletes at that time being at the wide receiver.

Speaker 1 (32:44):
And even the tight end position.

Speaker 2 (32:45):
And again, usually people love to glorify the past and
make it seem like nothing good is happening now, I'm
telling you the opposite. I'm thinking of tight ends that
were great, like a Brent Jones or a j Novichek,
or even a Tony Gonzalez. It might've been one of
the first guys that was doing more. But now tight
ends are acting like wide receivers with their size, strength
and everything. It's just a different game. Jimmy Graham comes

(33:07):
to mind as one of those first guys that was.

Speaker 1 (33:09):
Just yeah, hugely.

Speaker 7 (33:10):
There was a time when tight ends it was a
bonus if they could catch right right, like you were
hoping that they would be able to maybe catch touchdown
here or there. Now there are tight ends who don't
even play the tight end position. They're not even called
on the block.

Speaker 2 (33:24):
So just a really interesting start to the season. And Covino,
you and I were saying, and I like your thought
on the is it a push right if every team
is hurt?

Speaker 1 (33:34):
I think so.

Speaker 2 (33:34):
I think everybody's dealing with the same problem. So it's
just a matter of how these teams pivot and how
they how they win. Like it didn't stop Baker Mayfield yesterday,
you know, it looked like he made the adjustments.

Speaker 1 (33:47):
What up, Danny J.

Speaker 4 (33:47):
Listen to John Gruden on this topic for thirty seconds here.

Speaker 7 (33:51):
I'm just pissed off. Okay, all right, that's my hot take,
and I'm tired all these injuries. We're talking about the
fourth game of the season.

Speaker 4 (33:57):
Okay, okay, and.

Speaker 7 (33:59):
The injuries at quarterback, wide receiver, tight end, running back, corners.

Speaker 1 (34:04):
All these players are not playing.

Speaker 7 (34:06):
Nobody plays and nobody practices, and then when you don't practice,
you can't play good.

Speaker 1 (34:13):
You can't practice in pads.

Speaker 7 (34:15):
Either because the collective bargaet agreement, so you don't practice,
and when you do practice, you can't practice in pads.

Speaker 6 (34:21):
And then they don't let you practice long enough because
if you practice two hours you could be fired with cause.

Speaker 2 (34:26):
Sure, hell, he's going like gold school approach. I don't
he's saying, you know, not enough practice.

Speaker 4 (34:34):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (34:34):
That sounds like angry old guy. You know, John Gridithy, God,
that's going to own the NFL's in.

Speaker 4 (34:39):
It's interesting to hear all the different angles on this.

Speaker 2 (34:42):
But if you're not practicing full out the way you
should be, right, it's like going to zero to sixty
year bound to hurt yourself during the game.

Speaker 5 (34:50):
Jason Stewart, Doug Gottlieb's producer. He says that these guys
are getting injured because they're not practicing enough.

Speaker 1 (34:55):
Yeah, it makes sense.

Speaker 2 (34:56):
It does make sense to me, and something's got to
be about it because it's a problem everywhere. Like we said,
now there's another stat that involves the Jets that we
have to get to in that miserable game, and what
do we sending overseas? It looked like they had fun
out there. Yeah, I saw a lot of Actually I
follow these people and they're like, dude, they had a

(35:17):
blast watching that game overseas. But I'm like, really, because
that was like an asset for sending London the Jets
in the Broncos was like fire festival. But there's some
stats about that game that make you say hm, plus
some baseball observations and more of your football observations. We
wrap it up and we play last one standing. We
do it all here on the Cavino and Rich Show,
Fox Sports Radio. Well, Daft Punk, we get lucky.

Speaker 1 (35:45):
You know, Iowa Sam's on top of it.

Speaker 2 (35:48):
Because I noticed you said bigger, better, faster, stronger as
well when you were talking about players of today, I
thought little Daft Punk, little Kanye West. It's Cavino and Rich.
We got super producer Danny g. We got Dan Bayer,
the Great Dan Byer. We got Iowa Sam. We got
spot on the videos at Covino and or j FSR.

(36:09):
We got the best team in the land. We're just
happier part of it. We're live from a Fox Sports
radio studio on an action packed Monday. We're gonna wrap
up your phone calls made you go? Our team goes.
My shoulders a little sore spot. Do you have any injuries?
We banged up at all like every other team in
the NFL. My knees are kind of it's got a
big crack in it butt. Well, you know what, there
was some controversy. I don't know if you saw as

(36:30):
far as the things that made you go. Could we
know Juan Jennings on the Niners, who I hate that
there's almost uh drama because at the Super Bowl he
was the one guy that was the coolest of us
when we were walking around with the press. Jwan Jennings
really nice guy. But apparently he was bitching and complaining
like he's banged up. And then Big Trent Williams was
quick to be like, yeah, well guess what my ribs,

(36:51):
my foot, my this, and you know, Mac Jones had
an injection into his ribs like yo, like almost like
you're not alone.

Speaker 1 (36:57):
Stop being a little bee.

Speaker 2 (36:59):
Yeah, everyone banged up again. Live from the Fox Sports
Radio Studios. Time for our tire rack play of the day.
It actually took place where there were no more plays
left in Kansas City with the Lions.

Speaker 6 (37:11):
Take a listen with the Chiefs. Now, is there an altercation?
A Lion went after a Chiefs player. He went after
Juju smith Shuster, a Lions player, Brian Branch, took a shot.
Juju smith Schuster took a shot to his head from
Brian Branch. And now the two teams are locked up. Wow,

(37:33):
and they're trying to get order restored. But it was
Brian Branch who took a punch at the head of
Juju smith Schuster. The Chiefs have won the game thirty
to seventeen. Wow, but they're trying to get order restored.
Here on the field, get out.

Speaker 1 (37:47):
That was blatant dirty play by Brian Branch.

Speaker 2 (37:51):
Did you see Juju look like he was had a
towel on it so he bleed, didn't cut up a
little bit or what right? Bloody nose definitely got hurt
on that Branch, just showing an ugly side of him.
It was uncalled for. I'm sure there was some taunting
going on, but he went to shake his hand ended
up punching him, and that's courtesy of ninety six five,
the fan Chiefs Radio network. That was our tire Rack

(38:12):
play of the day. Got a little sticky. You saw
Mahomes there too. He went running in trying to break
it out.

Speaker 4 (38:16):
Like going for a high five, and then he stiffed
him Branch.

Speaker 2 (38:19):
Yeah, he left Mahomes hanging, and I'm sure there were
words after that, so it probably all ties together, right, Yeah, No,
of course. And for over forty years, Tyrack's been helping
customers find the right tires for how, what and where
they drive. Ship fast and free back by free Road
has a protection with convenient installation options like mobile tire installation,
tire rack dot com, the way tire buying should be.

Speaker 7 (38:40):
Just a couple of things that may have led to
the incident. There was a kind of a crackback block,
you know when the wide receiver comes down and about
three minutes left in the game and Juju Smith Schuster
kind of lit up Brian Branch, which may have been
the reason why Branch, Mahomes and Branch. Also, I think
we're jawing during the game out. I don't think there
was anything really between them, but that hit by Juju

(39:01):
seemed to really set off Brian Branch.

Speaker 2 (39:03):
I want to challenge. I was Sam to something real quick.
I was sam write down the following sentence and say
it fast three times.

Speaker 1 (39:09):
Okay, is this going to be dumped? No?

Speaker 4 (39:12):
No, that was a sentence. No, go ahead.

Speaker 1 (39:14):
Juju smith Schuster sells sea shells by the sea shorek.

Speaker 2 (39:20):
I want to see if I can say that three
times whenever You're going to make him gobble because this
Canadian Thanksgiving go ahead, I.

Speaker 1 (39:27):
Was Sam Juju Smith.

Speaker 5 (39:29):
I didn't get done writing it down yet. Juju smith
Schuster sells sea shells by the sea shore. Juju smith
Schuster sells sea shells by the sea shore. J You
just smith Schooster sells sea shells by the sea shore.

Speaker 1 (39:39):
Sorry, all right, well done, okay Juju.

Speaker 5 (39:46):
Oh Big Mike, that's Wednesdays the Words of Wisdom.

Speaker 1 (39:51):
Big MIC's here.

Speaker 2 (39:52):
So something that made us go if you sought a
social commentary on social media, it's everyone saying why in
the world we're trying to expand the game, make it international,
and we're trying to prove at you know, American footballs
where it's at. Why would we have the Jets and
the Broncos play overseas, and like I said before, I
follow a bunch of different accounts and the people there

(40:15):
were saying the NFL didn't let down because they all
had a blast. They were probably drinking, loving it, not
even really caring the fact that they had a great time.
But it wasn't the best product, right. The Jets are asked,
nobody want to give you an analogy. When you go
away to college for the first time, if you, you know,
live away, you could go your first party, even if
it's you don't know if it's bad or not.

Speaker 1 (40:35):
Yeah, just happy to be there. You know.

Speaker 2 (40:39):
We sent them an inferior product that they Broncos on
top there. But Justin Fields had negative ten net passing
yards against the Broncos, which means you had more yards
than Justin Fields.

Speaker 1 (40:51):
Perfect. I knew that all your calls and feedback next
