you involved. Fox Sports Radio Nation eight seven seven ninety
nine on Fox Old School and fifty hits on this
day in nineteen seventy six. Absolutely to you. You what's
your favorite line? This smell mainly to you? I say

(02:42):
absolutely no.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
It's funny would say that we're a word. There is
no tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
We're clearly on the same wavelength because brain wave, I
was gonna say, when you call up with your order
of the Rocky movies, Yeah, throwing your favorite line too,
because I was I was just laughing at how about Pauli?

Speaker 1 (02:59):
He's like, I don't you Pauli is the guy that.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
You like snow cones? Poly Polli likes snow cones absolutely, hey,
poly with snow cones. I think my favorite line is
when Rocky finally made some money in Rocky two and
Gazo remember the mobster guy Gazo. Yeah, he worked for
Gazo said hey, rock you got some money, now, why
don't you invest in some condominiums?

Speaker 1 (03:24):
And Rocky goes to be honest. I I'll use them
to be honest. That to me. Yeah, just to find
the innocent, lovable character.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
That Rocky about is speaking of Gazo, much like when
when Adrian dropped their hat, and like in that moment,
Rocky so dumbin innis.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
It was like, where's your hut? How about this?

Speaker 2 (03:42):
This is something I found out maybe five six years
ago and we loved and talked about Rocky films our
whole life.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
In Rocky Won the original, he's working for Gazo. And
remember one of Gazo's other goons gets into a tussle
with rock and he's like, hey, Adrian, why don't you
take it to the zoo? Do you remember what he
says about people who like the zoo? He said something
very he says something politically incorrect. There you go, let's

(04:13):
just say than the zoo. Let's just say Gazo's other
goon in the mob set take Adrian to the zoo.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
Let's just people with special needs love the zoo.

Speaker 2 (04:22):
Now, wait a few years when Rocky two comes out,
where does this start and where does he take Adrian.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
To the zoo? He takes it to the zoo and
he gets engaged with mister Tiger there.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
So what does Rocky really think of Adrian, that's a
whole weird like what that's like the longest punchline, the
longest joke that ever was?

Speaker 1 (04:42):
So your favorite parts. But here's the real question.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
Much like snowflakes, much like your favorite Tom Hanks movies,
when it comes to the same ranking your top we'll
say top four in the Rocky for franchise, and we're
including Creed.

Speaker 4 (05:01):
Yeah, Creed one, two, and three. Rich All the lists
I looked up on the internet included the Creed.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
The top Creed movies.

Speaker 5 (05:14):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (05:15):
Now, to remind people Creed, the first one is when
he realizes, you know, he introduced himself to Rocky. Remember
he wins.

Speaker 4 (05:24):
And the second one he finds out who his dad was, yees.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
Second one was dragos Son. Third one was when Michael B.
Jordan's Creed.

Speaker 1 (05:34):
Fights his buddy who got locked up for him.

Speaker 2 (05:37):
Yeah right, because he used to listen to Ye Yeah, Yeah,
and Jail. They were all really, really good. But I
guess I'll kick it off Cavino here. We want to
know your top four and your favorite lines. Man, I
got so many favorite lines from Rocky I'm still trying
to think of my favorite. I'm sorry, I'm changing off
topic midstream five because with the Creed movies in your

(05:59):
top five movies, because I think I need to throw
like four doesn't do it, top five?

Speaker 1 (06:05):
Give me five? All right, I got my fire. It
does sound good.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
Go ahead again on this day. This is when Rocky
came out in New York City. It didn't come out
worldwide until December, but this is what people started buzzing about.
Rocky one is number one. That's my number one. So
I'm ranking them.

Speaker 1 (06:24):
I mean hard, number one.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
Hard to argue an Academy Award winning film, but I
don't agree. But I'm not doing it like a countdown style.
It's my number one. Start with number one. Rocky four
is my number two. And the only reason it's not
my number one is because it's sillier than the first one.
The first one was dark and gritty and grimy and
won an Academy Award. Like you said, it's like a

(06:46):
it started at all. But Rocky four to me, was
the most fun. For example, let me give you an analogy
real quick. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom wasn't
the best one, but it was the most fun of
all of them. And that's how I feel about living
in America. You know he fights in Russia on Christmas Day.

(07:09):
Rocky four, to me is the most exciting, most fun
of all of them. So he gets rich and he
has the robot. So number four is my second one. Okay,
Rocky two is number three for me. Okay, Rocky three
is number four for me. So it's one four to

(07:29):
two three. You had Thunderlips and clubber lang. You have
something too, had to come from prediction pain. Okay, So
I got one four two three, one four to two three,
And I really have an unpopular opinion here. I think

(07:51):
really enjoy Rocky Balboa. I did because it was like
the full arc of the character Adrian Dies, Rocky Balboa, Mason,
the line Dixon.

Speaker 1 (08:01):
I thought it was really good.

Speaker 6 (08:02):
Men.

Speaker 2 (08:02):
It was sad, and that's why people don't like it.
It was sad, but it was real. I liked it
a lot, man. I love I love your list one four,
two three six is Cavino one two three, one four
two three six.

Speaker 5 (08:15):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
I hate that I'm leaving Balboa off my list because
I really enjoy Rocky six.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
Rocky bat there with the with the at the cemetery
with his with the chair, the chair.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
That's great, and that's a lending you said a kid.
Life's not all soon. Shining Rainbow had a great speech.
But here's my list. I'll do it you that I
saw start at the top, unpopular opinion, the best Rocky
part two, and I'll explain why, the most montages. Adrian's

(08:54):
in the coma, and the best line of any Rocky
movie is in the second one, the best little sequence.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
Iowa, Sam, go ahead.

Speaker 7 (09:02):
If you don't want me mixing with Creed no more,
We'll make out some other kind of way.

Speaker 8 (09:08):
In though, there's one thing I want you to do
for me.

Speaker 1 (09:13):
I got chills.

Speaker 9 (09:16):
Win waiting.

Speaker 1 (09:25):
Man, and you know what the best there is.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
They use that at all the stadiums, get everybody fired us.
You know what that made me think of? Though in
the original Rocky I had with his whole place stinks.

Speaker 5 (09:37):
Stinks all right.

Speaker 2 (09:38):
So I just feel like there's multiple amazing training montages
Adrian and the coma just win everything about Rocky two.
He does when he finally takes Apollo Creed, not the distance,
he wins the fight. So I go Rocky to my
second favorite Rocky movie. Much like Cavino, just a pure

(10:01):
entertainment value of Russia and Drago, James Brown and Apollo dies.

Speaker 1 (10:10):
Rocky four is my second favorite. Then I'm going number one.

Speaker 2 (10:13):
It's crazy to put the first original at number three,
but I watched it recently and I love it. But
it's something so seventies and timely and awesome about it.

Speaker 1 (10:23):
It's a beautiful movie. Fly Now masterful.

Speaker 2 (10:26):
Yeah, but I'm saying it's three just because I'm not
keeping it on one hundred percent of the time. If
i'm if I find it the other ones, I will
Number four Creed two, the nostalgia of Drago and his
son fighting Creed trained by Rockey. The nostalgia is off

(10:49):
the hook?

Speaker 1 (10:50):
Are you're going? Creed two?

Speaker 4 (10:51):
In there?

Speaker 1 (10:51):
Creed two?

Speaker 5 (10:52):
Wow?

Speaker 1 (10:52):
And number five.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
As much as I love mister t and as much
as I love Hulk Hogan Rest in Peace.

Speaker 1 (11:00):
It was the cheesiest and Mickey dies.

Speaker 2 (11:02):
That was emotion, and Rocky is moping and crying out
of the Rocky Rocky three is is number five?

Speaker 5 (11:12):
Shut out going, man, I ain't going no where. I
wanted to tell all these nights folks, why you've been
ducking meat?

Speaker 1 (11:16):
I always hey. They they had to calm thunder Lips
in that movie. Yeah, so my.

Speaker 2 (11:20):
List my top five Rocky two, Rocky four, the o G,
Rocky one, Creed two, and then Rocky three.

Speaker 1 (11:28):
I'm leaving leaving a few off there. Can I share something?
I'm sorry?

Speaker 10 (11:31):
Yeah, I was just gonna share something real quick about Creed.
I thought it was a little strange the first one.
So Sylvester Stallone has all these chats with Michael B.
Jordan is restaurant and it's like daytime, night time. The
restaurant never has people in it. It's always vacant. I
always thought that was strange, Like it's always like these
heartart chats, but there's like no one eating in the restaurant.

Speaker 1 (11:49):
Yeah. I saw in theaters saying Rocky's food is weak.

Speaker 2 (11:52):
You saying Adrian's restaurant because it was named Adrians. You
said it doesn't have a good chicken palm or something.

Speaker 1 (11:56):
I'm just saying maybe it was a front for something.

Speaker 5 (11:58):
Now you know it was like, you know, the economy,
So yeah, yeah, yeah's true.

Speaker 1 (12:03):
Anyone else want to throw their list out there? Danny
K What you got? Man?

Speaker 5 (12:06):
All right? Five for me?

Speaker 4 (12:08):
Rocky two, that's your fifth favorite? Are you going Okay,
I go five to one here. Retirement made you soft.
Number four for me Creed three. Saw it at the
theater with Brenda, and when we walked out, she said,
I think I've seen all the Rocky movies with you now.

Speaker 5 (12:23):
That was my favorite. And Rotten Potatoes agrees. They give
it like an eighty nine. Damn.

Speaker 1 (12:28):
Yeah, he's your number four. Yeah, three is really good.
Maybe to rewatch it. I think I've only seen it
one time, so maybe I need to rewatch.

Speaker 5 (12:34):
You know.

Speaker 2 (12:34):
The beauty about the Creeds though we're not like sick
of them by any means, Like I could watch any
of them right now, like you said, And yeah, and
I feel like it's the first time again.

Speaker 4 (12:43):
I'm a little biased because I love the Creed movies.
Number three for me, though Rocky four wore that VHS
tape out as a kid.

Speaker 5 (12:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (12:50):
Number two Creed Wow, Yeah, that just I mean everything
that we talked about so far, with Michael B. Jordan's performance, Yeah,
and he moves to Philly and just that whole movie
Matt had me.

Speaker 5 (13:05):
You know, they are great.

Speaker 2 (13:06):
And for the record, yeah, I want everyone to know
we're all fans of all of them.

Speaker 4 (13:10):
Yeah, that whole Creed movie had me hyped up. And
then number one, I gotta go og Rocky from nineteen
seventy six where it all started.

Speaker 5 (13:18):
None of this would be possible, you.

Speaker 1 (13:20):
Know what, Danny g I'll say this.

Speaker 5 (13:22):
All I want to do is go the distance.

Speaker 2 (13:24):
Even the worst, even the worst Rocky year Creed movie,
isn't that bad. People love to take a big dump
on Rocky five, right, like Rocky five stinks Tommy Gunn,
George Washington Duke. I'll tell you what that's because his
son was extra annoying in that movie, you know, rest
in Peace. I say that respectfully. But it wasn't any
didn't fight and Stallone didn't. That was the one that

(13:46):
I think what the same people were not behind it.
But it wasn't as bad as we remember. I saw
it maybe within the last five years, and I'm like,
you know what, it was a bad I think if
he had fought Tommy Gunn in the ring instead of
that weak ass like go for it, like fight, I
think we would have liked it more. I really do.
Rocky five wasn't that terrible. I'm with you, though, it's

(14:06):
not that bad. I remember it. It's the worst of
all these great movies. Yeah, it's not that bad at all.
And you know what, one of the ways I knew
my wife was the one besides, you're gonna tell that
story on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (14:18):
Oh no, another reason? Oh another res Oh okay, I
was like, damn.

Speaker 2 (14:22):
Besides the first time I got with her, I was like,
oh my god, holy moment, I'm out at my league.

Speaker 1 (14:28):
Jesus.

Speaker 2 (14:29):
No, besides that, besides looking in the mirror and saying,
is this true? No, When I was at work one
day my wife was visiting me when I was living
in New York. We were dating and she had not
seen any of the Rocky movies. And I jokingly said, like,
how on earth have you not seen the Rocky movies?
And I'm joking, was like, I don't know if I
could date you. She's like, all right, I'll watch the

(14:51):
first one. My wife, when I was at work, popped
in This is DVD times. We're talking late twenty twenty
Ten's right, popped in Rocky One throughout the day, binge
them all because she got into it and loved them all.

Speaker 1 (15:03):
And I'm like, I think I love this woman. Wait,
but you didn't watch with her?

Speaker 2 (15:05):
No? She was she was at work all day. She
was visiting in New York homework, but didn't want to
see her face when she watched him. I saw her
face with the other thing a right, Like you know what,
can I give a fun fact? And if you're a fan,
this is common knowledge. But in the first one, he
meets Adrian at the pet store and everything. It's Pollie's sister.

Speaker 3 (15:28):
Are you hungry?

Speaker 1 (15:29):
How about that turkey scene? That was a weird scene.
Remember she's busted.

Speaker 2 (15:34):
Oh yeah, he calls Adrian, Uh, Paulie has a batty
Leo Paully's Christmas time. It was like, you know, when
you're I'm wearing my sweater, absolutely what's going on? You know,
we joke about how like on social media they pointed
out like Zach Morris's trash and certain characters are like Pollie,
remember how it was like, you know, Ralph macchia was
the bad guy and it was actually, you know, Paulie

(15:57):
was so flawed man. Like you know, we always talk
about how maybe John Lawrence was right. Yeah, and Daniel
Arus's Huck Paully did nothing but get in the way.
Rocky did everything to help this guy. But he loved
Rocky though that he did. He did love Rocky, loved him,
but he wished he could be him. He was, he
was drunk. He lost Rockies millions. He you know, I

(16:19):
just so Paullie. He knew Adrian through Paulie. He'd go
see Adrian at the pet store. Remember he buys cuff
and Link. Yeah, he's my turtles, Cuff and Link. He's
feeding cuff and Link. He has those turtles till this day.
So the movie came out on this day in nineteen
seventy six. He still has those turtles. True story, look

(16:42):
it up.

Speaker 10 (16:43):
So he had to he had to sell his dog
to finance the film. But then he's got the turtles
from the film. He's got the turtles from honor of
his dog.

Speaker 1 (16:50):
Still he bought the dog back.

Speaker 5 (16:51):
Oh good.

Speaker 1 (16:52):
Yeah, that was actually really bumming me out.

Speaker 4 (16:54):
With doesn't want to make you like love him that
much more like he's got to be one of our
favorite actors of all time.

Speaker 2 (17:00):
Let me give you another awesome fun fact about stallone.
Yo absolutely came out on this day. Stallone stayed true
to his formula. Carl Weathers was a football player. He's
a raider. Danny j You know that His formula was,
there's a lot of charismatic athletes that deserve a shot
and deserve a chance. Hey, I deserve a shot, absolutely,
And he got his shot. He gave Carl Weathers the shot.

(17:22):
He knew that was Apollo Creed the minute he met him.

Speaker 5 (17:24):
You know the story.

Speaker 2 (17:25):
But he stood with that formula for every single movie,
including the Expendables. He brings real fighters and real athletes
into his universe, and that's something.

Speaker 1 (17:35):
He's stayed true to all those years.

Speaker 2 (17:38):
You know, Mike, get us up in Kentucky, and he said,
for all the times you've quoted all those stupid Rocky
commercials like yo smell manly, remember like he did the
Beast after shave and all that. All those funny Rocky
scenes were Part two when he was Remember, he was
like he was trying to make a buck.

Speaker 1 (17:55):
After after his fame. So even those little.

Speaker 2 (17:56):
Comedic scenes where Rocky couldn't read those Part two when
you had that stupid rubber nose on. Let's uh, where
do you want to start, Danny Jay? You tell me,
let's start with Roger and Tacoma.

Speaker 1 (18:06):
Roger, what's up? Roger?

Speaker 9 (18:08):
Hey, how are you doing?

Speaker 1 (18:09):
What's u?

Speaker 5 (18:09):
Buddy?

Speaker 11 (18:09):
Well, first of all, let me say this unequivocally, Rocky
Balbo is the greatest cinematic character of my lifetime.

Speaker 1 (18:17):
I couldn't disagree.

Speaker 2 (18:19):
And by the way, the biopic is making news today
because they just filmed the Ippolito guy. What's his name
something Ippolito.

Speaker 5 (18:25):
Yeah, that's right.

Speaker 2 (18:26):
They just filmed his scene of running up the steps
in Philadelphia and it's all over the place.

Speaker 5 (18:31):
That was on GMZ.

Speaker 6 (18:32):
Yeah yeah, I mean, I don't think you could care
for a character more than people care for Rocky Balbo. Sure, well,
I'm going to give you my five.

Speaker 11 (18:41):
I have a hard time splitting one and two because
they're both equally as important. I think I'm going to
give it the two because it had more of the
one liners that you all remember and more of the comedy,
and it was better scripted. But one introduce you to
the character of Rocky Balboa. And so it's really hard
for me to take one and not put it at one,
but I'm going to do it.

Speaker 7 (19:02):
But by a hair uh.

Speaker 6 (19:04):
And then now I'm gonna go.

Speaker 11 (19:05):
With three at three and I'm probably gonna I'm not
a huge Rocky four fan like many other people, so
I'm gonna go with Rocky Balboa at four good ones
because I got emotional.

Speaker 6 (19:17):
I don't know about you guys, didn't you get emotional
when he's what.

Speaker 1 (19:21):
Do you call him? We're gonna hit him with uh
like not thunderbombs? What do you call? I gotta look
it up that I forget now.

Speaker 6 (19:29):
Yeah, no, I mean I because we see the arc
of the character and it was like, this is the
end of Rocky about Boa and I almost start crying.

Speaker 7 (19:37):
Uh.

Speaker 11 (19:37):
You know that's how much you start to care about skid.
But as far as the one liners, he had many,
most of them into but I'm gonna give you a
couple of them.

Speaker 6 (19:43):
First one is when.

Speaker 11 (19:44):
The report said do you have anything drogatory to say
about the Champan to rock Yeah, he's great.

Speaker 2 (19:49):
You know.

Speaker 6 (19:50):
That was a great one.

Speaker 11 (19:52):
An underrated one was when he's talking to Adrian when
she didn't want him to take a fight.

Speaker 3 (19:56):
He says, Adrian, I never asked you the stuff being
a woman. Please please don't ask me stop being a man, and.

Speaker 1 (20:05):
So that one ones.

Speaker 11 (20:08):
So yeah, anyway, rocking about fantastic.

Speaker 6 (20:10):
I just I love him as much as you guys
love that.

Speaker 2 (20:12):
That's great here man do we agree that the greatest
montage is there's no wee zoo way out. That's the
best man. But he's in his car and he's looking
through the rear view. Remember one was it hurting bombs?
Ah right, No, No, it wasn't Mick. It was the
it was the black dude, the trainer that was in
every movie, Duke Duke. Remember, he's like, we're gonna hit
him with boss, allright, Mike and Fresno, it's not Mikey, Mike, heybody.

Speaker 7 (20:39):
I was born in seventy two, so Rocky was prime
childhood for me. So slipping the video disc in on saday,
having to put it back in to flip it over
the side B and then putting those u upper gloves
on when the movie was over, and going outside and beating.

Speaker 9 (20:56):
The crap out of your friends.

Speaker 12 (20:59):
You know, prime childhood.

Speaker 2 (21:01):
You know you have one of those you know those
those those bouncy punching things you had. I had one
of Rocky balbo one on the other it was either like.

Speaker 5 (21:09):
To blow up, come back up?

Speaker 1 (21:11):
Yeah, I remember, know I had a Yeah. What's your
favorite one?

Speaker 5 (21:15):
Mike?

Speaker 6 (21:16):
All right?

Speaker 7 (21:16):
So my favorite is going to be number two after
that is number three after that is number Uh. I
gotta I gotta go, I gotta take it back do
number one, you know what I mean. Then I'll go
uh you know uh more and then uh Rocky uh uh,

(21:37):
I gotta go Rocky as my fifth.

Speaker 12 (21:39):
But you know what, it's a favorite line. Yeah, my
favorite line.

Speaker 1 (21:42):
Is just a single word to win.

Speaker 7 (21:44):
Because when you guys played that when she said that,
I get the chills every single time.

Speaker 2 (21:49):
Great spot makes one of me because I almost like
want to shed a tear with during that scene. It's
so emotional when when Adrian, because you know, Rocky says
we'll find another way, and in that moment, Adrian realizes
I married a fighter. He's gonna fight like you know,
It's amazing to see the arc of the character though.
It really is, And that's why I'm excited about the

(22:09):
biopic and and how they made it because Sylvester Stone
really is his story.

Speaker 1 (22:15):
You know, he's the underdog. He made it happen. He
became a superstar.

Speaker 2 (22:19):
What about what about We're talking about all the great
scenes with Adrian and Rocky. What about I'm afraid, right,
I'm afraid? When he was afraid?

Speaker 1 (22:26):
Oh so good of.

Speaker 2 (22:29):
Lang and I think this is common knowledge if you're
a fan like we are. He was at the Muhammad
Ali fight when Chuck Webner went the distance. So the
whole premise was based on the bayone bleeder. Chuck Webner
going the distance.

Speaker 5 (22:43):
Yeah, that's what.

Speaker 1 (22:43):
Crazy Kamed Ali.

Speaker 2 (22:45):
Yeah, like you know, Muhammed Ali cherry picked this dude
and his dude, like you know, it was supposed to
be an easy fight. And Webner. The debate is did
he really knock him down or did Ali slip? But
it appears he slipped, and he was aspired to write
this underdog story but to see how how down on
his luck he was in the first one, to where

(23:07):
he's a ripped, shredded heavyweight champion superstar by the you know,
by the fourth one especially, I mean, and then he
loses it all again by the fifth one. It's just
crazy to see. It's a great, great series. We'll take
the rest of your feedback and we are going to
dive into some NFL. It's not all rocky, but we're

(26:09):

my football picks. By the way, Spot give me a
one shot of this shirt. If you're watching on the
YouTube channel, you'll realize and appreciate this shirt.

Speaker 1 (26:18):
Sam, do you see this bad boell?

Speaker 10 (26:19):
Yes, I've seen it before, but i've uh oh, that's yeah.
That has to do with the Rocky films.

Speaker 2 (26:26):
It's the silhouette of the haircut of all Rocky's opponents.

Speaker 5 (26:30):
There you go.

Speaker 2 (26:32):
Rocky's hair was the poofiest. His hair was the poofiest
and Rocky three oh yeah, he had major eighties poofy. Yeah, yeah,
he did, no doubt. Fun fact, since we're talking about it,
Rocky Balbo came out on this day, old school and
fifty hits came out on this day in the premiere.
The premiere worldwide in December, so we're ranking our favorites.

(26:53):
Ken Norton, the actual professional boxer, was supposed to be
Apollo Creed and he dropped out. Carl Weathers came in,
and then Carl weather said something about he would have
done better if there was a real actor playing Sylvester Sloan.
He didn't know that Sylvester Sloan was the writer and
gonna be playing Run. And that's when Stallone goes, oh,
he's perfect, Yeah, yeah, because he wanted that. Muhammad Ali

(27:16):
he was arrogant guy and man, just the chemistry everything
about it. Such a great franchise and I feel blessed
to have watched it and lived it with you guys. Yep,
let's do three quickies that will go to Monzi for
an upday. We'll get back into some NFL. Let's start
with our buddy Trip in Vegas.

Speaker 3 (27:33):
Hey Trip, Hey, gentlemen, I got a great story of Alvalboa,
so it would go to Valboa one and then three.
But when that's but when Valboa premiered, they hit the
premiere here in Las Vegas, and my boy's wife ran
the uh, she ran the events and the Aladdin, so
we got all access passes. So we went to the
premiere with the movie.

Speaker 13 (27:54):
With the cast. Then they did the actual red carpet
with the time.

Speaker 3 (28:00):
I'm on crutches.

Speaker 13 (28:01):
I had booked my foot in a basketball game. We're
on the red carpet with Tommy Hearns. We're right behind Rocky,
and people like who is this guy?

Speaker 6 (28:10):
Who is that guy?

Speaker 13 (28:10):
And then we get to the after party and I
was like, you know, oh, I got hurt during casting.
I'm a small role. It was the craziest night though,
to be on the actual red carpet.

Speaker 2 (28:20):
Yeah. You know what I loved about Balboa Rocky six
the fact that they very much made it feel like
an HBO pay per view fight like they updated We're like,
you know in the seventies and eighties, they were more
like movie fight scenes.

Speaker 1 (28:34):
They made Rocky Balboa.

Speaker 2 (28:35):
They broke out all the people, you know, from Jim
Lampley to Max Kellerman and you know, remember they would
have like you know, ESPN and Fox on TV.

Speaker 4 (28:44):
Oh, hearing Lampley talk about the movies when he was
being interviewed by you guys in Vegas, that was awesome.

Speaker 1 (28:50):
Yeah, I mean It's just it was a special one.
I agree. All right, ron in Rochester, what's up, Ronnie?

Speaker 9 (28:54):
Hey, you guys. I got two stories of head apartment
in New York City and I was running now and
this guy up the city one in partments for his daughter.
And Bert Young showed up my door. He looked really good.
I took him out to my balcony overlooking the river.
He's like this jus spectacular, but he.

Speaker 3 (29:10):
Never took it.

Speaker 9 (29:11):
But then in ninety six, I was in Atlanta at
the Golden Gym getting to work out in Deulph. Lungan
was there and I'm six two. He's not even close
to six two.

Speaker 2 (29:18):
By the way, you know, not to get all pervy
on you guys. Do you know who hangs out and
they like they're hot and they work out together. Have
you seen Dolph's daughter and I believe Van Dam's daughter
are friends and they're like two hotties that are like
fitness buddies.

Speaker 1 (29:35):
No, you creep? Well, you know what after you creep?

Speaker 5 (29:38):
We were talking about Bert Young.

Speaker 2 (29:39):
Well, hold on spot for the I was about to say,
Bert Young, out of all the people in the film,
was an actual boxer. PAULI was a boxer, had a
military boxing record. Queens Yeah, thirty two and two. Man,
he was the real fighter of all. For the people
that are smart enough to watch, uh to watch here
on our YouTube page, Spot, can you put up a
picture real quick of Drago's daughter and van Dam's daughter together?

Speaker 1 (30:02):
Thank you?

Speaker 5 (30:02):
Spot put a photo of Burt Young and stuff big exactly?

Speaker 1 (30:07):
Wrap it up. Prince in Tampa, what's up?

Speaker 7 (30:11):
All right?

Speaker 12 (30:12):
You guys are gonna laugh, You guys are gonna have
a good time with it. I have never seen any
rocky movie?

Speaker 3 (30:20):
Oh not even Creed.

Speaker 2 (30:21):
Okay, wait, that's great because wait where are you from?
A Prince in Tampa? Man, which one would you recommend
him to want? It's interesting Creed, Creed, Prince, how old
are you?

Speaker 11 (30:33):
Uh?

Speaker 12 (30:34):
Thirty two?

Speaker 1 (30:35):
Thirty two? Not that it matters to you. White guy,
A black guy, black guy, black guy.

Speaker 2 (30:40):
I feel like the Creed movies are really contemporary and
any of them can watch them, but I feel like
they really do have a they have a different field,
they have a different feel to them. A very great
and Michael B. Jordan's like a freaking awesome leading male.

Speaker 1 (30:52):
I'm able. Could you appreciate those without knowing the original
characters know.

Speaker 2 (30:55):
What Prince again, race Creed pun intended. None of this matters.
I think Creed pun ated.

Speaker 5 (31:03):
You like that.

Speaker 2 (31:04):
Go back and watch all of them, dude, I feel
like you'll love them. And the Creed movies are almost
like updated with more of an urban lean to them.

Speaker 1 (31:11):
And they're so good as well. You know what I'm
learning from this. They know what they've done, Prince.

Speaker 2 (31:15):
They took the Rocky soundtrack and honestly they took those
old themes and training montages and sort of put a
hip hop twist to it.

Speaker 12 (31:23):
Yeah, in Creed watch the Rocky movies and it worked
my way.

Speaker 5 (31:28):
To create all right, man, let this be a warning.

Speaker 2 (31:30):
The original, the one that won the Academy Award that
came out on this day.

Speaker 1 (31:34):
It is slow and is gritty, and it's very seven.

Speaker 2 (31:37):
I must feel like I want Prince to check in
once a week having watched one a week.

Speaker 5 (31:42):
I like this. It's like giving you a homework assignment, Prince.

Speaker 2 (31:45):
Yeah, Prince, I feel like you know when you want
to when you try to show your girlfriend or wife
like a movie she's ever seen. I feel like Prince
and I are new pals and like all right, Prince,
next week, call back with your review of the first
let us know when you watch the first one, and
keep in mind that it is slower than the rest,
but it's a different time and it's a different style
of movie. All right, enjoy, Thanks for to call. And
what I'm learning from all this is when you include

(32:06):
the Creeds, it's it's an even more difficult discussion.

Speaker 1 (32:11):
Yeah, no doubt, what's upside with Sammy?

Speaker 10 (32:12):
So this is this is sort of running with a
prince on the line there watching them. Sequentially, there's actually
a scene from Saved by the Bell where a c.
Slater is dating Jesse Spano and I think they have
a bet between each other and if she loses, he's like,
you gotta watch Rocky one through five, And like, I
swear that's a line right out of the show, is
it really? And Psyche you guys, you know you obviously
have the Mario Lopez doppelganger kind of thing going.

Speaker 1 (32:35):
So it's funny.

Speaker 10 (32:35):
There wasn't actually a scene where he says you gotta
watch the Rocky movies one through five.

Speaker 5 (32:38):
It's fun?

Speaker 1 (32:39):
How fun with that? Mama?

Speaker 5 (32:40):
All right?

Speaker 2 (32:41):
Uh, let's go to Mancy Manzi you're a Rocky fan
at all. I feel like you've set this one out.

Speaker 8 (32:46):
I did sit this, so now I've seen the first one,
I think. So my brothers watched them, and I watched
my brothers watch them, but I they did not resonate
with me.

Speaker 2 (32:57):
Well, you know you're you're also younger, you're like in
your thirties. Yeah, you know that some old bitty I'm not.

Speaker 1 (33:01):
I mean, if you were, you.

Speaker 2 (33:03):
Were born after most of them came out, so that
might be a factor as well.

Speaker 8 (33:07):
Yeah, And I think at the time, like I said,
I think it's a boy movie. Not that I wouldn't
enjoy it, but I do think that it was a
boy movie. Like my brothers were watching it, and you know,
I never went back to to.

Speaker 4 (33:16):
Give it a go, but off the air, I was
telling her that Creed could work for her because that's
not so much a quote unquote boy movie.

Speaker 8 (33:24):
Think the time it was you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (33:26):
When it first came.

Speaker 8 (33:27):
Out, I think it was pushed for boys.

Speaker 2 (33:30):
You know, I know what you're saying. Yeah, some idiots
would be like thing as a boy or girl movie.
But I know what you're saying, It's a boxing movie.

Speaker 8 (33:37):
And the like I saw a million dollar baby it
was about but there was a girl, you know what,
Like I feel like, yeah, so I did not have
much to say, but I'm glad for you guys that
you enjoyed it.

Speaker 1 (33:46):
It's a great secrets. Did you look up Brandon for me?

Speaker 8 (33:49):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (33:50):
I don't have good news for you.

Speaker 8 (33:52):
It's it seems as though like nobody wants to really
say anything. And there's a forty nine Ers insider that's
like the Kyle Shanahan has not said that he's not
not coming back, but they.

Speaker 1 (34:05):
Don't think he's coming back this year.

Speaker 8 (34:07):
So they did not open his window, which they could
have this week, and they didn't, And so there's an
inside who's just kind of like it doesn't seem like
it's good news.

Speaker 1 (34:16):
Geez, sad, I'm sorry.

Speaker 2 (34:17):
I was, you know, I was thinking for some like
late season, like oh wow, it's almost like picking up
a cool player later in the year.

Speaker 1 (34:24):
But I no.

Speaker 8 (34:26):
I UK Week twelve kicksoffs soon, guys. It's the Texans
and the Bills at a fifteen Eastern time. It seems
as though wide receiver Keon Coleman, who was a healthy
scratch last week because he missed a meeting is going
to be a healthy scratch again for tonight's game. Also,
I ha's been an NFL Network reported that Texan's running
back Joe Mixon is not expected to return this season
because of his foot injury. This has prompted Mixon himself

(34:49):
to quote tweet and say, now, I get everyone's looking
for splash news and clickbait, but I'm just curious Ian
from NFL Network, how do you know more about me
than me? So that's I don't that's the latest on
that one. Joe Burrow a full participant for a second
straight day. Colts have added Daniel Jones to their injury
report with a calf injury. Packer's running back Josh Jacobs

(35:10):
return to practice as a limited participant with that knee injury.
NBA News King Star center Demonta Savona suffered a partially
tormentiscus and his left knee.

Speaker 1 (35:17):
He's going to be reevaluated in three to four weeks.

Speaker 8 (35:20):
And also in Baseball Hall of Fame, left handed pitcher
Randy Johnson is going to have his fifty one retired
by the Mariners during a pre game ceremony on May
second of twenty twenty six and if you like skating,
who doesn't like ice skating? But every Olympic dream starts
with a first glide Through learn to Skate USA, kids

Speaker 1 (35:53):
Thank you, give.

Speaker 8 (35:55):
You one last story in two seconds. So apparently Cowboys
wide receivers d Lamb and George Pickens missed the first
series against the Raiders on Monday because they missed curfew
after having dinners and drinks at Red Rock Casino. Social
media has come out and uncovered this information, and apparently
Lamb was seen vomiting at seven thirty am on Monday.

Speaker 1 (36:14):
But he has denied that he was throwing up.

Speaker 8 (36:17):
They said it's even disrespect to suggests that because he
knows how to hold his liquor. Calvin Watkins, who covers
Dallas Cowboys for the Dallas News, has that details.

Speaker 2 (36:24):
That was an interesting story, Monzee, because we did wonder
where like it must have been some type of internal
discipline that the two star receivers were sitting out the
first series and they.

Speaker 8 (36:32):
Didn't say anything after the game. But social media has
found this information perfect.

Speaker 2 (36:36):
Yes it listen, we got more c In our next,
Cavino has an observation about the NBA that will blow
your mind. In fact, what are your parents? Will blow
your socks off? That's coming up next, Cavino and Rich FSR.

Speaker 1 (36:49):
Let's go. Rich is whack? Dude too? Too? Too? Rich
is wack? Rich is whack? Do do do?

Speaker 5 (37:04):
All? Right?

Speaker 2 (37:04):
Covino and Rich, We're live from the Fox Sports Radio studio.
Everybody knows this is Frank Stallone. I was just gonna
ask MANSI if you know that because she's not a rocky.
This is uh Sylvester Salon's brother Frank from the original movie, who,
by the way, still does like little concerts around LA,
like little jazz places and stuff. You know, Frank Stallone.
Every Olympic dream starts with a first glide. Do learn

(37:26):
to Skate USA kids build confidence, strength and joy on
the ice. Learn to Skate USA offers programs for skaters
of all ages and abilities. Find a program near you
at learn to Skate USA dot com. If there's something
I learned today, it's our love of Rocky. No team
in the NFL is dominant, and that's really an initiative
to get people to skate. Huh yeah, yeah, yeah, I
like that quick reminder. That's reminder on tomorrow's show. Who

(37:50):
the game that's sweeping the nation? More reason why you
gotta subscribe to our YouTube channel, Covino and Rich FSR.
Brainwave is like an interactive you gotta watch it sort
of game. We play brain Wave and we give away prizes.
Plus we get you ready for the weekend with weekend hobnobbing.
That's on tomorrow's show right here on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (38:08):
Now, Rich get this.

Speaker 2 (38:12):
You keep listening to Mancy and Perfet and Dan Meyern,
you keep hearing about all these injuries. We talked about football,
how no team is really dominant, inconsistencies, injuries big part
of that. Yeah, Well, just teams that there's a lot
of teams that we thought would be dominant that miss
are missing pieces. But the NBA, you know, we talked
a lot about Lebron this week. Austin reeves, this is

(38:33):
staggering the number of NBA stars that are currently out
with injury staggering and needs to be pointed out. You
hear them in the updates, but when you hear them collectively,
you're like, no way, give me a list, read me
a laundry list of NBA All Stars. When you hear
them altogether, it's a different story. Kyrie Irving, acl Anthony Davis, Caff,

(38:55):
Jannis Groin, Jalen Brunson Ankle, when benam Calf, Joel Embiid
Knee Tatum, Jason Tatum, Achilles, John Morant, Calf, Jalen Williams Wrist,
Leonard Kawhi, Leonard Ankle, Lillard Achilles, Trey Young, Knee, Bonchero Groin,
Halliburton Achilles, out of bio toe, Drew Holliday, Calf, Sibonus.

(39:21):
You heard Manci talking about it, Knie Murray, Achilles, Tyler
Hero Ankle, Zion Williamson, Hamstring. It's like these are big,
They're not just random people. These are superstars of the NBA,
the biggest names in the NBA all out with injury.

Speaker 1 (39:36):
It's in sane.

Speaker 5 (39:38):
Oh you forgot Kawhi, Leonard fraud.

Speaker 2 (39:40):
By the way, Danny, he just named like twenty all stars. Yeah,
everyone killing on the name, I think. And by the way,
the exception of one might have been an All Star
at some point in their NBA career. There's there's a
new person added like every two minutes. So that's just
as of right now. It's insane. So you got to
point that out. We were talking about all the NFL injuries,
what gives and what gives in the NBA. You know,

(40:02):
my theory, my theory that you guys all make fun
of me for, is that we have evolved as humans.
We're bigger and stronger and faster than ever before. But
you know what hasn't changed, like what a ligament is
capable of, and and when you are that when you're
making these fast twitch movements and you're moving at the

(40:23):
size and speed guys that are six six two hundred
something pounds of muscle and speed, our human body is
just maybe not capable of sustaining how quickly we play
spats sort over that level of explosiveness, the explosive moves,
but your body and your tendons can't handle your You

(40:44):
can't strengthen your tendons like that.

Speaker 5 (40:46):
I bet you if Reebok pumps came back some of
these injuries.

Speaker 2 (40:49):
Yeah, solution, it's really funny. I thought that's a solution.
And by the way, there's so many other names too.
I didn't even get to like Nesmith and Brawn and Castle.
And it's insane what gifts. Over promise we'll get to
all the stuff we didn't get to, So hang tight,
more convene on Rich until then

Speaker 1 (41:04):
I'll read it there she maybe see you in the
over promised lamb oh
