Speaker 2 (00:22):
I'm here. I'm happy.
Speaker 3 (00:23):
I gotta take a deep breath because I just went
straight from the mall to the studio. I did a
couple of last minute errands and I got to hear
in plenty of time. But you know, it took me
more time than the actual mall getting in and out
of the parking lot. It is infuriating when you see
like six cars in front of you, and every time
a car pulls out, you have to wait for that
(00:44):
car to pull out, and then someone pulling and it's
like a train of annoying people.
Speaker 1 (00:51):
But it's my fault parking. Yeah, it's time for all that.
It's the holiday hustle and bustle, you know, as part
of the things that make me go hmm, and we
do it every Monday. In the world of sports entertainment
and of course, NFL Week sixteen let's go Higua, Samuel
hit it.
Speaker 2 (01:09):
Things that make you go, things that make your goal well,
get the observations risk.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
They go from everything from shopping to the fight, to
foosball and more.
Speaker 3 (01:20):
Can I start by saying the my proclamation of the day.
You know, the Pittsburgh Steelers. I hate you because you
ruined everything. The Pittsburgh Steelers ruined what could very well
be even more exciting football. That was a great game, Ki,
But Danny, it's great because you randomly picked he didn't
win any money on us.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
Who cares you like Aaron Rodgers? You're the guy that
hates him.
Speaker 4 (01:41):
You were supposed to place our bets from last Wednesday.
Speaker 1 (01:45):
Let me let me tell you this. Let me tell
you this. Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers. This season has
been remarkable.
Speaker 3 (01:51):
We've talked about how each week there's games that feel
like their playoff level excitement. This year, FL has been
delivering on every level.
Speaker 2 (02:03):
So my one and only.
Speaker 3 (02:04):
Complaint is by the Steelers winning. They ruined multiple storylines.
Going into the final two weeks of the NFL season, the.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
Steelers and the game looked like it was won by Detroit.
Speaker 3 (02:17):
You saw you saw a penalty in the end zone.
Then you saw maybe a lateral and you're like, oh wait,
did that count? Gops in the end zone? You saw
the flags, you knew something. Yeah, and Aaron Rodgers was
trying to lip read it. It was an exciting game?
Speaker 2 (02:30):
Did it really was?
Speaker 1 (02:30):
But you're saying, as a result, we got robbed of
some really exciting ones next week.
Speaker 3 (02:35):
Dude, it sucks bung bung that the Steelers won that game.
Speaker 1 (02:41):
Is that what the fans said to DK Metcalf by
the way, Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, we're we're gonna get
to that. Yeah, But let me just explain why the
Steelers winning sucks ass. The Steelers winning now puts them
in a position where, because you know, as we expected,
(03:02):
the Patriots beat the Ravens, it was close, but because
they won now a lot needs to happen for that
Week eighteen game between the Steelers and Ravens to matter.
Speaker 2 (03:14):
Likely that won't matter at all.
Speaker 3 (03:18):
Where had the Steelers lost yesterday and now you're talking like, ooh,
Week eighteen could before the division?
Speaker 1 (03:23):
Those are major what ifs, because we did have some
really great games in the past few weeks that felt
playoff caliber.
Speaker 2 (03:30):
That's what's not a what if what I'm telling you
is accurate, If the.
Speaker 1 (03:33):
Steelers, my point is we still had great games as
a result this week, I wanted more. Yeah, I mean yeah,
you just sound like a spoiled fan, really, but I
mean I get it.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
There were implications.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
I get it, Daddy, I want more great NFL games.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
I get it.
Speaker 1 (03:48):
I get And by the way, you mentioned Drake May Santa.
A lot of my friends and a lot of my
family members hit me up and they're changing the words
to our Tom Brady song. They're saying, Drake May is
the madh, Drake May is the mahan, Drake May is
the ma? Are there new words to the Tom Brady anthem?
(04:09):
I don't know that was That's all we made up
to go along with the NBC NFL theme. But can
I give everyone a quick rendition? Yeah, please do. Tom
Brady is the Brady's the ma and Tom Brady is
on mahahan. It's not Drake May yet. Relax, not yet.
(04:32):
But I do have some Patriots fans and friends that
are singing that tune.
Speaker 3 (04:37):
Well, let me just say this, by the Steelers, by
the Steelers winning. Let me just make it plain and simple,
why they ruined football for the rest of us. If
Detroit wins that game, we have two Week eighteen matchups
that are playoff football. Now the games mean nothing, the
first being the Steelers and the Ravens. That game will
(05:00):
mean nothing. Had Detroit one, that game would have been
for the division.
Speaker 2 (05:05):
Now the game means nothing now.
Speaker 3 (05:06):
On the flip side, because Detroit won, I'm sorry, because
Detroit lost, they're like out of it. Where if they
had won yesterday, if the forty nine Ers had beat
get this, get this, Timmy, no breaks. Had the forty
nine Ers if they beat the Bears next week in
the Bay Area, then Week eighteen, Week eighteen would have
(05:27):
been Bears Lions for that final wildcard. So we're talking
about a lot of what ifs. But the Steelers ruined
the cookie crumble. Then you're crying about the Steelers ruined it.
Speaker 1 (05:39):
Like I said, in the past two weeks, Dandy g
this guy was walking around so pumped about the playoff
caliber games that.
Speaker 3 (05:46):
We mean, we were getting blessed every week with great ones,
like we said, like we saw you know, the Jags
made me go yesterday.
Speaker 2 (05:52):
We're gonna get to that in a second. But let
me let me just finalize we thought, would.
Speaker 4 (05:55):
You call that going to be a statement game for them?
Speaker 1 (05:58):
We I take it, man, because that's the Lions game,
whether ruin next week's games or not.
Speaker 2 (06:03):
It was action packed, edge of.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
My seat level game. And I'm not a Steelers or
a Lions fan. I was watching at the bar. I
was at the airport again, I'm here in Idaho. I
was at the airport all.
Speaker 2 (06:14):
Day watching the games. By the way, and man, even
everyone in the airport was screaming at that game.
Speaker 5 (06:20):
What was high.
Speaker 1 (06:21):
I'm not taking that game back just to make you happy,
but I get it.
Speaker 2 (06:25):
But I get what you're saying.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
I get what you're selling, I think, and Lamar getting
hurt sort of adds to the insignificance.
Speaker 2 (06:30):
Also, yeah, but you deal with it.
Speaker 3 (06:34):
But we talked about the beginning of the year, and
I think everyone, including Danny and Ioa Sam who none
of them really liked Aaron Rodgers and his whole vibe,
we talked about how they were gonna be a pedestrian
nine and eight or maybe ten and seven and sniff
the playoffs or just get in and not be a factor.
Speaker 2 (06:48):
And it's exactly what happened. Like we predicted that you
know they'll find the way to be decent enough. But now,
like by by winning that game yesterday, they ruined every bang.
Speaker 1 (06:58):
Okay, So before we move on, because there's other parts
of that game we need to speculate on.
Speaker 2 (07:02):
Playoffs are gonna be locked up. Playoffs are gonna be
locked up in the early games.
Speaker 4 (07:05):
That you obsess on Aaron Rodgers so much for so
many seasons on our show. I'm surprised that you're not
kissing his.
Speaker 3 (07:13):
I should, but you know what I was hoping it
came down to week eighteen. But right now, you've got
to live in the moment. Rich, you schedule watch a
little too much.
Speaker 2 (07:21):
So did you say schedule watching?
Speaker 5 (07:24):
The rich loves to look at the schedule game schedule
watch it.
Speaker 3 (07:30):
Schedule watching is what I do best, right and when
you look at the NFL right now, look at the standings, buddy.
If the forty nine has beat the Colts tonight, it's
over for the Colts, which means all seven teams in
the AFC playoff picture will be official, unless, of course,
(07:51):
Pittsburgh loses its next two and the Ravens win their
next two. That's the only thing other than that we're
set after we'd sixteen. We sixteen's over. Playoffs are set
in the cheating varies in the NFC. Everyone's eliminated except Detroit,
who will be eliminated very easily when the Niners win
(08:12):
tonight and Green Bay would have to lose every game
and they'd have to win both. It's I'm saying the
playoffs had determined already, Covino, and we just have to
deal with it. It's gonna be great playoffs, but we
could have had two more like ooh, Week eighteen in
and win type of things, but those are done now.
Speaker 2 (08:27):
Dude. It's a great point.
Speaker 1 (08:28):
I just don't know if everybody shares in your feelings,
because we really did have a great game as a result, and.
Speaker 2 (08:33):
That's just how it is.
Speaker 1 (08:34):
That's how the NFL is, And I know, two back
to back weeks with like so many insane matchups. But
if you do share, and Rich's paying here, eight seven
seven ninety nine on Fox is the number. Danny g
is our super producer. He's on standby waiting just to
say hi, Iowa. Sam is on the ones and twos,
Lon and Crown's got your updates.
Speaker 2 (08:52):
Thank you again for being part of the show.
Speaker 1 (08:54):
You could watch what you hear Covino and rich FSR
Spidy's on the videos. So let's take some phone call
other observations. But that's a big one.
Speaker 2 (09:02):
I get it.
Speaker 1 (09:02):
Pittsburgh ruined football or as Richard said, ruined ChIL you
always say ruined really ruined football for week seventeen and
aplications or yeah at eighteen. But there were some other
things that made us go from that game. While we
get phone calls on that feedback, the DK Metcalf punch,
(09:24):
that was a big storyline that had everyone going hmm, like,
what was going on there?
Speaker 2 (09:30):
What was said?
Speaker 1 (09:31):
And then we find out that this Ryan Kennedy dude
apparently called them a racial slur and said something derogatory
about DK Metcalf's mama, and those are fighting words. I
get it. So DK Metcalf, we all saw it, grabs
the Lions fan with the blue wig buy the shirt,
and it looks like he punches them rich, But it
(09:53):
depends on what angle you look at. Like, do you
remember that famous clip, Danny g You'll remember who it was.
It was Kobe and he inches the ball and it
looks like.
Speaker 6 (10:01):
It's right at that's right, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (10:03):
Like it just like it's right at his face, right,
But if you really look at the angle from a
different angle, it was like in the direction of his face.
But aside from his face, Like depending on what angle
you look at is how you see. It's not just
like shoved him up.
Speaker 4 (10:19):
That was the famous podcaster Matt Barnes.
Speaker 1 (10:22):
Oh yeah, yeah, so the the famous Kobe to Matt
Barnes flinch clip. It looks like he does it right
in his face. But if you see it in another angle,
which most people don't like to look at because we
like the one where Kobe's getting hard, it's not really
in his face. Just like this punch wasn't really at
(10:43):
this guy's face. It was sort of in another direction.
It was just sort of shoving him up. That's just
my observation from the side angle. I'm DK Metcalf.
Speaker 3 (10:51):
I want everyone seeing the side angle where I grabbed
the guy by the shirt or wig or whatever he
has and shove him back, shove him up. Like anyone
that's saying he punched him, That side angle shows that
he did not punch him.
Speaker 1 (11:02):
But you're right, Rich, side angle says one thing. Front
angle looks like he threw a punch and Ryan Kennedy
is the fan. He's publicly out there and he's making
it no secret that he thinks it was a punch.
Speaker 2 (11:17):
Well guess what involved.
Speaker 1 (11:19):
And he's denying every single thing that's being claimed about him,
because you have to ask yourself, is this an NFL
spin to save Metcalf's ass?
Speaker 2 (11:26):
Moving forward? I think I think this guy's a loser.
Speaker 3 (11:29):
If you were a blue wig to a football game,
you already lose the battle of mind.
Speaker 1 (11:32):
He may be a loser, but that doesn't mean he
said these things. There's a lot of controversy. Even our
own Dan Byer was saying this is an NFL spin,
was saying, equations could be strong here because now you're
saying that this guy was saying racial, racial things, racist
things that may have never been said, just to save
the ass of a DK Metcalf or the face of
(11:54):
the NFL.
Speaker 3 (11:54):
I'll tell you that's what makes it a serious story.
I'll tell you this, No one really knows what was said. Allegedly,
people could say things.
Speaker 2 (12:01):
People who could make guesses.
Speaker 3 (12:03):
Dude, no, no, But but I'm not get to guess
because it's it's in the hands of legal lawyers and crap. Now,
But I will say this, know who saw him never
going to take the s clown fan with a wig
on that comes down to the front row to taunt
another man.
Speaker 2 (12:18):
You think that guy's innocent?
Speaker 1 (12:20):
I mean, for all we know, he could have said nanny, nanny, poof,
poof man. He could have just been Apparently his side
of the story is that he called them by DK metcalt.
Speaker 2 (12:28):
Hey, let's go around the room, Isaac Danny g I
was Sam, would you ever? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (12:32):
But dude, you would you ever throw these claims out?
I know they're very dangerous claims, they're very sticky.
Speaker 2 (12:37):
I agree, But would.
Speaker 3 (12:38):
You ever, as a grown man, wear a blue wig
to a game go down to the front row? And
I would you do it?
Speaker 2 (12:44):
Isa No?
Speaker 6 (12:46):
No, Rich.
Speaker 4 (12:47):
But if we were at a CNR live broadcast and
we had listeners there and fans of the show and
one of them got like faded and started popping off,
I don't think any of us would go over and
put our hands on him either.
Speaker 1 (13:01):
I might, I might smack a I mean a lot
of professional athletes, even our own Curry Roads. I was,
I was getting ready today listen, and he was like
as a fan, as a as a professional athlete. As
a fan, you got to be better. I get that, right,
we all get that. But there's alcohol involved, and people
are stupid, and this guy's got a wig gun. Right,
they're stupid fans, they're fanatical. But as a professional athlete,
(13:23):
that's just honestly an everyday thing that you deal with
all the time.
Speaker 2 (13:27):
You have to become numbted, you know, bother me.
Speaker 1 (13:29):
So the fan was saying that he called them the
Kaitlin Zacharius Metcalf his birth name, and it got under
his skin, and that's what happens.
Speaker 7 (13:41):
You know.
Speaker 2 (13:42):
I'm with you, Rich.
Speaker 1 (13:43):
I don't want to believe that DK Metcalf lost his
cool over something.
Speaker 2 (13:49):
I'm not making.
Speaker 1 (13:49):
I'm not making had history too, so that's another part
of the story.
Speaker 3 (13:53):
I'm not making racial accusations for multiple reasons. All I'm
saying is that that d NFL is, that dude's the
NFL is, that dude's a clown. And if he gets
one dollar from the NFL DK Metcalf for someone, it's
an embarrassment. That guy should just be happy they didn't
get punch in the face, get out of the stadium
like what a loser on every list.
Speaker 1 (14:15):
If I were a Metcalf, I would really lean into
that side view and show like, look, I grabbed the
guy by the shirt.
Speaker 2 (14:21):
Shouldn't have done that, but I did not think.
Speaker 3 (14:22):
What do you be grossed out if that guy got
a penny from anyone, some drunk idiot with.
Speaker 2 (14:27):
A wig on what if it was you. I'm just
saying he's drunk about if he never If.
Speaker 1 (14:32):
You never said those things, wouldn't you get lawyers to
be like, yo, man, they're defaming my character. Now everyone
in my community thinks I'm a racist based on what
the NFL's claiming here. I never said those things. Yeah,
I'm a stupid fan, but I never once said those things.
Speaker 3 (14:46):
Cares what you do while you're going down to the
front road taunting another grown man, get a life.
Speaker 1 (14:51):
Here's another thing to the fans do stupid things. They're drunk,
stupid fans. That doesn't mean he said he call them things.
I'm just saying that there's two sides to the story,
and the the truth is we don't know which one
is true. It's a he said he said sort of thing.
There were witnesses though. There was a family right next
to this whole confrontation, and I would I would. I
would think it would be a good idea to track
(15:12):
them down and see, like what actually transpired, if you could,
if you could find those people, like, yeah, we witnessed
the whole thing. There was like you know, young boy
and I think his parents sitting right.
Speaker 6 (15:20):
Next to that.
Speaker 1 (15:20):
The NFL is investigating right now exactly so. His name
is Ryan Kennedy. And what makes this interesting is he's
all lawyered up now claiming that, Yo, what happened was
not cool.
Speaker 6 (15:32):
Right.
Speaker 1 (15:33):
A player should never put their hands on the fans, regardless.
Taunting is part of the game. He's at our stadium.
We were taunting them. We called him by his birth name.
I had history with him, and he took it too far.
He's saying he never said those things. Now, Rich We
often say here, if someone said you committed a crime,
wouldn't you adamantly deny that if you didn't do it?
(15:53):
Like sometimes people don't double down enough, like yo, whoa
WHOA hold on?
Speaker 2 (15:57):
I may be guilty of X, Y and Z.
Speaker 1 (15:59):
Maybe I drank a little too much and I should
be blamed for wearing a stupid wig, but I never
said those things. We don't even drinking. He could be
a sober man. We don't know that exactly. We don't
know anything. So we also can't assume that he called
them a racial sir. Yeah, but that he said something
about his mommy, even though all signs show that maybe
(16:20):
he did.
Speaker 6 (16:20):
Rich.
Speaker 3 (16:21):
I feel completely confident, though one hundred is inconfident in
this guy is a fool in going down to the
front row taunting another grown man wearing like a silly costume, Like, like,
you tell me that guy's credibility in your mind. Let's
always got breaking news on this fin I hit the stage.
Speaker 8 (16:41):
Breaking news from Fox Sports. NFL media is just reporting
that the National Football League is suspending Steelers receiver dk
Metcalf two games without pay for physically confronting the Lions
fan yesterday at Detroit's.
Speaker 2 (16:57):
He plans to appeal.
Speaker 3 (16:59):
Well guess what, it doesn't even matter because the Steelers
roomed football anyway.
Speaker 1 (17:05):
Yeah, but look, there's there's a few things that make
you go, Yeah, the NFL doesn't want this sort of publicity,
and they don't want to lose a key player in
this situation, right, A DK Mettcalf.
Speaker 2 (17:16):
Caliber player already for the playoffs entering the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (17:20):
So they want to put there, and this guy, like
I said, Ryan Kennedy, is claiming that never happened, and
that's dangerous territory. And I'm just playing Devil's advocate. If
I were to make assumptions rich, I would want to
believe the guy that we know, DK metcalf. I would
want to believe that fans get carried away and they
(17:41):
say stupid things. But it's a it's a tough claim
and a weird situation that I wish we weren't talking
about today. But it don't happened, and it's a big story.
Despite all the great foot we.
Speaker 3 (17:52):
Could get to, we can't get to a ton of
other stuff. I'm just gonna finish by saying this DK
getting suspended. I'm okay with that because you know you,
you know you felt for the trap almost right. It's
like someone put a trap out there and it's like, uh, DK,
hook on and sinker. It's like some woman trying to
catch her dude cheating and she has like some woman,
(18:12):
she pays a woman to seduce her husband.
Speaker 1 (18:14):
Right, he caught him, Does does it matter if he
threw a punch or just grabbed him her hands on
his hands?
Speaker 2 (18:19):
I think hands on a fan.
Speaker 3 (18:21):
I think DK deserves it, so I don't want even
think I'm talking about it both sides of my mouth.
Speaker 2 (18:24):
What I'm saying is man to be bigger than that.
Speaker 3 (18:27):
What I what I'm saying is DK deserves some type
of punishment for this. That might be a bit harsh,
but I'm more adamant about please don't let this guy
get anything.
Speaker 2 (18:37):
That's my point.
Speaker 3 (18:38):
My point is, yeah, Dk, she maybe a little slap
on the on the wrist, a game suspension, maybe even
not two.
Speaker 2 (18:45):
But this clown, if you if I hear some like yeah.
Speaker 3 (18:49):
Some undisclosed payout he got from the Devil's Advocate, then
Catholic Devil's advocate, yea Rich is at.
Speaker 1 (18:54):
A game, he drinks a little too much, He calls
the player by his real name, player gets.
Speaker 2 (19:00):
Carried away, and he grabs you. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (19:02):
Then he and the NFL are claiming you to say
racist things and derogatory things about his mom that you
never said.
Speaker 2 (19:10):
How do you handle it? Uh? That would only happen
if I don't.
Speaker 1 (19:14):
Now everyone thinks that Rich Davis is a racist? Now,
now how do you handle that? All this is only
continuing because this guy lawyered up, man, you racist? No,
because that the NFL has to put their side of
the story out there. No, the only reason this is
going further is because this guy lawyered up and now
(19:34):
DK saying, well, what he said or he thought his
side of the story. This goes away if this guy
doesn't lawyer up. This guy's trying to get something. Why
do you lawyer up?
Speaker 2 (19:42):
I don't think it goes away. That clip lives. Everything
was all over the place.
Speaker 3 (19:45):
You don't see this as some cheap ass money grab
of some dude trying to get a couple bucks from someone.
Speaker 2 (19:53):
Honestly, did he get hurt?
Speaker 1 (19:54):
Speculating all the possibilities here, That's really what I'm speculating.
I'm not taking the side of some bozo with a
goofy Wigan, right, I'm not. But I'm just speculating that man,
anything could have been said in that moment.
Speaker 2 (20:09):
Well, listen your thoughts, your feedback.
Speaker 3 (20:11):
We'll take it next right here on Covin and rich
and all the other observations. We've hardly even touched some
of the games that went down.
Speaker 2 (20:17):
Yesterday and all things Pittsburgh to started off, but.
Speaker 1 (20:20):
Pittsburgh ruined everything, feeding off the success of our college
basketball bracket challenge each March, we decided to do a
bracket challenge for the college football playoffs. Now there's eight
teams left standing, It's Bracket Challenge time. Compete against our
Fox Sports Radio hosts and against fellow listeners to see
who has the best college football bracket. Play for your
(20:41):
chance to win one thousand dollars.
Speaker 3 (20:45):
Where to go, Rich visit Foxsports Radio dot iHeart dot com, register,
get the rules, fail at your bracket.
Speaker 2 (20:54):
You got to do it.
Speaker 3 (20:55):
Before kickoff at seven thirty pm on New Year's Eve
again Fox Sports Radio dot iHeart dot com your chance
to win a g.
Speaker 1 (21:04):
Low and Crown announced that DK metcalf is suspended. Yeah,
how they suspend them if they were certain this. Fans
said these things because what happens, And Jay Stu made
a good point. It's just something to think about.
Speaker 9 (21:16):
He was like, Oh, you know, especially with all the
things with uh we'll see small A and Miles Skarrett
and the Mason Wood offensive.
Speaker 7 (21:25):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (21:26):
Sometimes when drastic things happen, you don't want this to
be the quick go to to justify it. And that
could be the possibility. Now we're not saying it didn't happen.
But we can't use that as an excuse to do
violent things and to get away with stuff either, especially
if it didn't happen. I know, you say you can't
a black man can't have a bad moment and then
(21:47):
just be like, uh, you called me the N word,
like you don't want to bet that cride N word
just because you lost your cal in that moment. And
like Iowa Sam alluded to before, there was lots of
fans in the area that could verify whether not this
guy was being belligerent and saying types of things like
that in front of children over there. That is he
a Weenie fan? Yes, but guess what A few things
(22:07):
could be true here. You could be a weenie fan,
but it could also be very true that he never
said that. I think d could be true that he did.
But then why did the NFL suspend DK metcalf?
Speaker 3 (22:16):
I think DK lost as cool and deserves a suspension.
Two games is a bit harsh.
Speaker 1 (22:21):
One game maybe, yeah, But then you can't be thrown
around allegations like that because that's really serious.
Speaker 2 (22:26):
It's a bad look. You know.
Speaker 1 (22:28):
Now everyone thinks is Ryan Kennedy guy is a big
time racist. It's not good for football, it's not good
for society.
Speaker 2 (22:34):
Who cares about this kid?
Speaker 1 (22:35):
I'll say this though, yep, but is that a good
look for our culture? That these things? We know they exist,
but it doesn't. You don't have to make a story
out of it if there is none.
Speaker 10 (22:46):
All right?
Speaker 3 (22:46):
Well, hey, DK, Metcalf suspended your thoughts. I'm I'm flabbergasted
that no one's feeling me at least on the whole.
They've had history to me is translation. This stalker fan
has bothered DK before. How could a fan and a
player just think about that for one second. We'll take
(23:07):
all the feedback. How could a player and a fan
have quote history? The only way is if the fan
is some crazy stalker to.
Speaker 2 (23:15):
The if you're too thin skin to let it get
to you. Like I said, you're not addressing what I'm asking.
Speaker 1 (23:21):
No, no, no, no, because it takes two to tangle or something.
How no one's discrediting this guy. No one's saying, not answering.
A professional athlete has to be above those moments. He
has to be above that dude. He's got too much
to lose. He can't just be punching every guy that
is taunting him and then saying it's because he said
(23:41):
some racist stuff. He's got to be bigger than that.
That's just the world we live in. That's the that's
the game they play. That's an everyday thing for these guys.
Unfortunately they're getting taunted all the time. Let's go to
Jake and Indy. What's up, Jake, you're on the show,
Cavin on Rich.
Speaker 7 (23:57):
Hey, what's up? Guys?
Speaker 11 (23:59):
Yeah, man, and I've been listening to this story for
about fifteen minutes with you guys, and it's it's absolutely
a bad look all the way around, right, Like DK
cannot touch that guy.
Speaker 12 (24:13):
DK's got a history of like he lets the guys
get under his skin all the time on the field,
like off the field, like I've seen videos where like
kids are chirping them, and like he gets he let
like he lets that stuff get to him. And like
he cannot let some Joe Schmoe in the stands, especially
some guy that he knows or has history with him.
(24:35):
Now that we're saying, like you're like, oh it's this
guy again, Oh, this guy's this guy's just I'm just
Joe Blow. He's nobody, and like he can't put his
hands on him. It's a bad look. But where security?
Like if this guy's screaming vulgars if he is, like,
where security? Because if I'm yelling at it at the
(24:56):
top of my lungs got a game? I know the
security is going to be like, sir, shit down or
get removed, and like where are they at?
Speaker 5 (25:03):
No?
Speaker 3 (25:03):
I agree it was I think security should take the
blame because it seems like no one's around this idiot
in the front row. And again, the one thing I'll
say that no one's wanting to address is that.
Speaker 1 (25:14):
Repeat a fect Like he's got history? How can you
a history of the fan? Because I think he's a
season ticket holder? So yeah, well, how often do the
Steelers play the the Lions? Can you know this is
a this is a stalker type guy?
Speaker 13 (25:27):
They go they have history going back to when DK
was with Seattle.
Speaker 2 (25:31):
Like what do we talk history history with the next girlfriend?
Speaker 1 (25:34):
You have history with an old coworker, a player, and
a fan only as history if the fans a stalker
and if the player history is allowing history to get
to him, you know, like he could easily ignore it,
Like look what happens when you don't ignore it? Danny
g you were talking about Ed Cooley, the Georgetown head
(25:57):
coach who hit a kid with a water.
Speaker 2 (25:59):
Yeah, he got suspended.
Speaker 1 (26:01):
He suspended a game, like you gotta be bigger than that.
Taunting is part of sports, all right, part of sports.
It's not going away. You're you're a visiting player, You're
you're an opposing player. You're gonna get taunted. You can't
be putting your hands on throwing things.
Speaker 4 (26:16):
Yeah, now to be you know, nobody was taunting him.
He reacted to the horrible loss over the weekend. Anything
throws reacting, Yeah, exactly. He chucks this water bottle and
it nails a kid in the front row.
Speaker 2 (26:28):
You can't be like that if you're a professional.
Speaker 1 (26:32):
And yeah, do we expect more from fans, We we
of course do.
Speaker 2 (26:36):
But unfortunately that's just how they are.
Speaker 1 (26:38):
Did this guy say this as possible that he did,
but the NFL, who I'm sure is doing a pretty
thorough investigation, he couldn't find any proof that he did
or else they want to suspend a DK Metcalf. So again, unfortunately,
after a really really great win, this is part of
the story. So props again to the Steelers, even though
Rich said they ruined football next week. They really the
(27:00):
next week com you know, they ruined the rest of
the regular season. They ruined the rest of the regular season.
You know, this is part of the things that made
us go hmm this weekend.
Speaker 2 (27:09):
All right, I'm fired up.
Speaker 3 (27:11):
Let's go to Isaac for an update, and then we'll
take all your feedback. We'll move on to all the
other things that went down in the NFL.
Speaker 1 (27:15):
But he didn't even talk about the fight. Listen, big story.
That was the big story, Dk.
Speaker 3 (27:19):
Metcalf, the Steelers beating the Lions.
Speaker 2 (27:22):
That was a big storyline yesterday.
Speaker 8 (27:23):
Indeed, and that was the big story today. A short
time ago, the NFL suspending DK Metcalf, the wide receiver
of the Pittsburgh Steelers, two games without pay, for initiating
a physical confrontation with the Detroit Lions fan on Sunday.
Metcalf will appeal. The attorney for the fan issued a
statement today denying an NFL media report that the fan
(27:44):
directed a racial slur at Metcalf and also said something
derogatory about Metcalf's mother. Meanwhile, for context, guys, a short
time after the incident yesterday, the fan in question told
the Detroit free press and I quote, he doesn't like
his government name. I called him that and then he
grabbed me and ripped my shirt. I'm a little shocked.
(28:05):
I'm a little rattled, but I just want the Lions
to win. Baby unquote. Sounds like a delightful gentleman.
Speaker 2 (28:12):
Wrong.
Speaker 1 (28:14):
I get, I can't believe me. I get how you
can see you guy this and say what a loser.
But I mean, these are the guys that that are
there supporting their team.
Speaker 2 (28:22):
Rich still losers.
Speaker 1 (28:30):
The CNR Show YouTube is popping right now. Covino and
Rich FSR to watch what you hear on YouTube, Wes
and Idaho, Scott Fermeyer, Colin and Canada, Steve Mann one
nine nine. So many people chiming in, Joey Elbows, join
the fun, join the live chat, talk some smack. You
(28:50):
can also call us too, but we're live. Covino and
Rich FSR on YouTube and the numbers eight seven, seven
ninety nine off Fox. I'm Steve Covino in Idaho. That
is Rich Davis. Should I change my take? Mike Oliver
hit us up on the In show and he goes, Rich,
you got.
Speaker 2 (29:07):
It all wrong.
Speaker 3 (29:07):
The Steelers didn't ruin the season the Lion's not finishing
that game ruined the season.
Speaker 8 (29:13):
Blame the Lions, not the Steelers.
Speaker 1 (29:14):
No, I think you should change your take on this
fan who was dubbed the racist, because if the NFL
had any thoughts whatsoever that dk Metcalf's claim was due,
they would have defended him in the league and not
have suspended him. Well played out live with Low and
Crown's update is insane. We'll get to the phone calls
and back to that game, but we're live from Fox
Sports Radio Studio and it's time for our tire rack
(29:36):
play of the day. As our show predicted, the Patriots
would bounce back. Nobody deep for Baltimore in the secondary
Pandolf Stevenson to the right side of cost for fifteenth
cuts it.
Speaker 6 (29:47):
Across to ten to the five.
Speaker 13 (29:52):
HUSS and SAT show us Chris Stevenson Wingland takes the lead.
Speaker 1 (29:58):
That's courtesy of ninety eight five, the Sports Hub and
the Patriots Radio Network, and that was our tire rack play.
Speaker 2 (30:03):
Of the day.
Speaker 3 (30:04):
I'm just looking at a couple of the games that
really I'm so spoiled and so we all are as
far as what the NFL has given us this year.
Speaker 2 (30:13):
As far as excitement, there are three games.
Speaker 3 (30:16):
Had they turned out different, honestly, the playoffs in my mind,
would have started next week.
Speaker 2 (30:22):
In those games will sound like the rich honestly.
Speaker 1 (30:23):
And I think it's a great, great point because I
haven't heard anyone talk about that, right, So props to you. Yeah,
but you kind of sound like man if I would
invested in this, then I would have got that. I
just that stuff never means or resonates anything with me.
Speaker 2 (30:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (30:38):
No, if I want to put money it's a bitcoin
fifteen years ago, Well you didn't.
Speaker 2 (30:41):
And guess what, it didn't happen. The cookie crumbled, So
deal with it.
Speaker 1 (30:44):
Like I get it. We were robbed a little bit.
But it's been a really inter season.
Speaker 3 (30:49):
If my manager went to the goal, if my manager
went to the bullpen earlier, yeah, well he didn't.
Speaker 1 (30:53):
Man if I didn't take out of my Amazon stock,
I'd be a millionaires.
Speaker 2 (30:57):
Goes on you did and these things didn't happen. But
there are three games.
Speaker 3 (31:00):
I think we could all agree that if they went
the other way, the season would have been like ooh.
Speaker 1 (31:05):
And it's a great point. I'm not taking away from
your point. It really is a great one. I haven't
heard anyone else really cry about it the way.
Speaker 2 (31:12):
Well I'm the number one cry baby.
Speaker 1 (31:13):
So number one was the Steelers beating the Lions so
to put the Lions out of it and gave the
Steelers some breathing room. The other game was New England
winning last night, killed any momentum of the Ravens maybe
hanging in there.
Speaker 2 (31:26):
And the game that happened.
Speaker 1 (31:27):
On Saturday, the Packers, my goodness, let that game finish.
Speaker 2 (31:32):
Letting that slip away with the on site.
Speaker 13 (31:34):
Carrow with five minutes to go, Oh my god, with
the backup quarterback.
Speaker 3 (31:39):
That game had so much significance because now the Bears,
the Bears could have been like in a scary situation
where like, wow, now they're playing San Franz next week,
and then they got to finish against the Lions. So
many little things could have been But Caven know's right,
I guess what you didn't. Boy, you didn't buy bitcoin
fifteen years ago, so shut up.
Speaker 1 (31:54):
So yeah, by the way, yeah, but yeah, but Caleb
Williams and the Bears showing that they got a flair
for the dramatic. Yeah, and I respect that a lot.
I think you need a little bit of that to
go far in this league.
Speaker 4 (32:06):
Yeah, how about Caleb Williams putting his hands in the
in his hand warmer after he threw the Oh he's touchdown?
Speaker 2 (32:13):
So cold? That was cold, by.
Speaker 3 (32:15):
The way, that was he threw the ball, immediately put
his hands in his pockets like ooh, that's a strike.
Speaker 1 (32:19):
I know, and I just I just hit him in stride.
It's called the muff. He put it in the muff.
Speaker 2 (32:25):
I'm sorry. What did you think? Vegas? Let's make snappy?
Hi Larry, Hey, what's going on?
Speaker 5 (32:31):
Bro?
Speaker 2 (32:31):
What's up? Man?
Speaker 7 (32:32):
Hey Larry Hey, please give me give me three minutes.
Speaker 2 (32:35):
Well I can't. I can't give me.
Speaker 3 (32:37):
I can't give you three minutes because we got to
go to break it. So then hold on, then we'll
get to the top. Okay, exactly exactly. I want to
hear you. I want to hear youah, Larry, So let's
give it a second and any other thoughts on Week
sixteen again, I feel like a cry baby about it.
Speaker 1 (32:51):
How about the Jag hype man, the Jags looking like
the real deal.
Speaker 2 (32:55):
Dude, Broncos, what is on your left? We'll talk Jags.
Speaker 3 (32:58):
I want to talk about Nixy getting crap for going
for two when they're up by so many. The fight
the fight, well a lot went down and we're gonna
get there it all. And if he said fight the fight,
Jake Paul, didn't we get to that. So all next
right here on FSR, C and R say hi to Larry. Larry,
(33:19):
go ahead, what's your take on this?
Speaker 6 (33:20):
Buddy?
Speaker 7 (33:21):
Hey, listen here. First of all, I want to defend
that fan because without the fans, the motor wouldn't keep rolling.
That's for Fox Sports TV, not all fans. Because the
guy has blue hair on. I don't think the way
that guy is bashing the fan is like but we
got evidence of DK Metcalf. He's just another A J.
Brown And I don't believe that brother called him that.
(33:41):
I don't believe that dude called him that. That's the
first thing they want to do. And I'm a black
man and we hate when we see a brother go
and pull that race card. DK Metcalf is a bonehead.
He didn't have no business going in that fan. Ain't
even if the fan was called him this his birth name.
Go be mad at jo Mama she named.
Speaker 2 (34:01):
And you know, Larry, I'm glad. I'm glad you did
say that.
Speaker 1 (34:04):
I just think that fans because it's just you have
to speculate all sides. We know that there are trash
bags that do say things like that, and they do
say the wrong things. But you know, if that were
the case, the NFL would not have made this announcement
as soon as they did. And yeah, his name's not
(34:24):
so bad. The kaylin Zicarius Metcalf. Let's just hope he's
better in the future, because it's a shame now he
has to appeal and he looks like he's lying about
the whole thing, like and you know that shouldn't be
the go to excuse.
Speaker 2 (34:37):
Like Larry said, It's just.
Speaker 3 (34:38):
I don't I don't think this is gonna I don't
think we're gonna hear about the story much more. I
think it's sort of I like to think that. Here's
my guest, they reduce it to one game. The Steelers
have pretty much wrapped up that division anyway, seeing the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (34:52):
Steelers sort of become a little backstory.
Speaker 5 (34:54):
Now.
Speaker 3 (34:55):
I told you they ruined, they ruined everything, and say
by winning.
Speaker 1 (34:59):
We still got to about the fight. We gotta talk
about the Jags. We have last ones standing. We have
lots to get.
Speaker 2 (35:04):
How about Andy and Rhode Island? What's up Andy? What's
up with Andy?
Speaker 5 (35:11):
Hey?
Speaker 2 (35:11):
What's u buddy? Hey?
Speaker 10 (35:13):
Check this out, guys. Before I get before I get
on my on my taake, I just want.
Speaker 12 (35:17):
To say I am a.
Speaker 10 (35:18):
Big fan of band Byer after Friday what I heard,
he's a survivor fan. Man. He has won me over.
But to get to my take, it has to be
the passion the affairs call that was missed by the
rest of the Ravens and Patriots game. I don't know
how to defend it. Could just be allowed to tackle
the guy before the ball even gets there, and then
the references standing at stole Colde and Mike Rabel had
(35:41):
had a couple of words with him. I know, I
know everyone saw that.
Speaker 2 (35:45):
Yeah, I'm that there was there was a miscall there.
Speaker 3 (35:49):
Listen, they didn't they didn't, uh, I mean they didn't
really have much of a chance without Lamar Jackson moving
forward if he asked me, so, I don't know. I
think a couple of rivalries fill apart yesterday, and I
think any excitement it's more.
Speaker 2 (36:03):
Hurt than we think.
Speaker 6 (36:05):
He is.
Speaker 2 (36:06):
Off season, this whole season.
Speaker 1 (36:07):
Yeah, and as far as Dan Bayer, not only is
Dan a great broadcaster, he's a good dude.
Speaker 2 (36:12):
So thanks for the phone call, appreciate it.
Speaker 6 (36:15):
Great job.
Speaker 2 (36:16):
Yeah, let's talk about.
Speaker 1 (36:17):
The Jags real quick, Rich, because it seems like all
of a sudden and the narrative changes week to week,
So I get why it happens, but it's funny to observe, right,
the Jags are the real deal. Like I can't tell
you how many times I read like they're super.
Speaker 2 (36:31):
Bowl bound and they very well might be.
Speaker 1 (36:35):
But a week ago we weren't really saying that, but
they really did seem like the real deal because.
Speaker 2 (36:39):
They beat the Broncos.
Speaker 1 (36:40):
Man, they're now eleven and four, the Broncos are twelve
and three. The Jags look legitimate, so we got to
point that out. From one week to the next, they
went from like, yeah, they're pretty good, I don't know
if I'm believing that height to then beating the Broncos
in Super Bowl bound is the buzz.
Speaker 2 (37:00):
It's the buzz.
Speaker 1 (37:00):
I can't say it's the narrative, but it's the buzz.
They're looking solid and because they beat the Broncos more
solid than we thought.
Speaker 3 (37:07):
Let me give you a couple of plays and a
couple things I saw over the weekend, and you let
me know if you think it's.
Speaker 2 (37:11):
Like trash or legit like you bs or legit. Okay,
go ahead.
Speaker 3 (37:16):
Number one, speaking of Trevor Lawrence and the Jags, who
look Super Bowl brown, bro, Yeah, I get it. They
look great.
Speaker 1 (37:23):
When the when the whistle was what would a whistle
when a whistle was whistle, whistles go, you know, when
the whistle was whistled, and when the whistle was blown, Yeah,
whistles are blown. That's what it is, your mama, while
you're under there, Rich, When the whistle was blown and
(37:43):
the guy on the Broncos still took that hit on
Trevor Lawrence, I feel like that could have been so
much worse. Oh man from behind, like he was whole
like yo, his whole back went in, you know, he
popped all there.
Speaker 2 (37:54):
He like scorpion mid air.
Speaker 3 (37:56):
He popped up and actually started laughing with one of
the other Bronco defend and I was like, all right,
so it must have just looked a lot worse. But
that could have been a season derailer. Danny g Just
imagine that's the play that injures Trevor Lawns and the
season's overcoming.
Speaker 1 (38:11):
Rich, it's in fighting, it's in boxing, it's it's the
once Do you don't see coming?
Speaker 2 (38:15):
Do you see that? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (38:18):
The slow mo of that is insane. His body is
just rocked. He looks like Jello.
Speaker 3 (38:23):
Yeah, like, yeah, I know it sounds ridiculous, but you've
heard people say if you brace for a car accident,
sometimes you can get more hurt.
Speaker 2 (38:29):
Like maybe, let you know, maybe maybe.
Speaker 4 (38:31):
That's why some people who are intoxicated will live through
a bad accident.
Speaker 1 (38:34):
Fortunately unfortunately, unfortunately the innocent. The innocent people die.
Speaker 3 (38:39):
Yeah, but but yeah, no, when you get hit like that,
sometimes maybe not seeing it coming is because Trevor Lawrence
pop right back up, And I was like, thank godcause
that would have been what a what a crappy storyline
it would have been if the Jags were rolling and
Trevor Lawrence gets hurt on a play that was blown
dead but the guy didn't hear it, Like that would have.
Speaker 2 (38:55):
Been weak funny point.
Speaker 1 (38:56):
Rich, Maybe maybe there's something to that, because I don't
know how he survived that, like his bodies but not
even survived to Kureino like popped up like, yeah, no, biggie,
another play I wanted to bring up Baker Mayfield on
that final drive. Was it Mike Evans who just cut
the wrong way? Is that Evans trying to improvise or
is that a bad read on Evans? Did we ever
(39:16):
hear anything?
Speaker 2 (39:17):
Yes?
Speaker 4 (39:17):
Yeah, I wondered the same if they broke the wrong direction,
but he was also trying to extend the play.
Speaker 3 (39:22):
Yeah, So I mean I think that might have just
been like, hey, receiver trying to extend the play, and
instinctually they're usually on. But if that last interception looked
like Baker just threw it into no man's landos because
Mike Evans broke the opposite way, and if he had
broke that way, maybe Tampa wins that game. So I
thought that was interesting. Cavino, That's a great point. And
(39:43):
the other one was on Saturday, the game that sort
of went under the raid August. There was no real
stakes involved. It was just, you know, Philadelphia insuring themselves
a playoff spot and everything winning that division. When Nick
Sirianni goes for two in the fourth quarter when they're
up by what like eighteen seventeen points and Washington so
offended that a fight breaks out. Are you like, Nick
(40:06):
Sirianni made a great point. He goes, is running up
the score really going for two instead of one?
Speaker 2 (40:12):
It's one point and you're going for the over? And
or is he no?
Speaker 3 (40:16):
Or is it simply he was doing the math and
it's like, well, then two touchdowns at.
Speaker 2 (40:19):
A field goal?
Speaker 3 (40:20):
I don't know bs or not? Do you think Nick
Sirianni just kicks here's a point and this is some BS.
Speaker 1 (40:26):
And I called like that. I wonder the same thing
as you do. I don't know what's going on in
that moment, but I don't believe in running up the score.
Speaker 6 (40:33):
I don't.
Speaker 1 (40:34):
I'm just not a believer of that. I think do
what you can there.
Speaker 3 (40:37):
Yeah, trying to think of any other thoughts before we
get to the rest of your feedback, because we got
a lot to get to today about you didn't even
talk about the fight.
Speaker 4 (40:46):
Yeah, before the fight, really quick, Covino, because I haven't
got to say anything about the Raiders except they stink
in there. Dude, Ashton Genty running like that against the
NFL's number one defense. They give up fourteen points a game,
and Genti scored out on his own. He was breaking tackles,
he was catching passes. If you can get some real
(41:10):
leadership there in Vegas with Bowers genty of course Max Crosby,
you have some stars to build around. I think that
makes it even more frustrating for Raiders fans.
Speaker 3 (41:20):
Did you see Tom Brady said he's gonna take a
more active role. Yeah, I have a question, do you
I think, Danny, I'm gonna be really positive about your Raiders? Okay,
I think that, ma Listen, there's times that get blown
out there, like last week against the Chiefs with.
Speaker 4 (41:34):
Thirty one to nothing against both the Chiefs and the Eagles,
and and.
Speaker 3 (41:37):
Max Crosby, you know, look like his head was about
to spin off at a frustration.
Speaker 2 (41:42):
There are games, though, where the Raiders do look like
they're not far away. I don't think they're I don't know.
There are times where I'm like, are they that awful?
Speaker 6 (41:52):
Either?
Speaker 2 (41:52):
Do you need to get rid of Geno Smith. They're
a confusing.
Speaker 4 (41:55):
Team because they have some great starters and they have
really bad depth, bad backups, Like their second string guys
couldn't even be third string guys on some other NFL team.
Speaker 3 (42:07):
Yeah, you could see how a secondary or the run
game is exposed when when they have.
Speaker 4 (42:11):
The O line was exposed at the very start of
the season.
Speaker 2 (42:15):
Danny g propt though he's rocking his gent shirt today too.
Speaker 6 (42:17):
Look at him, dude.
Speaker 4 (42:18):
That was fun watching him run that that football yesterday.
It gave me a little bit of hope at least
if there could be some leadership in that building. And
if it's Tom Brady, okay, it's Tom Brady, but let's
get that fixed.
Speaker 6 (42:31):
Please.
Speaker 3 (42:32):
Well, you know what, Danny, you should have hoped because
every year in the NFL, what do we see. We
see one or two teams that's stunk.
Speaker 6 (42:38):
Or up to four teams, you know, make the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (42:40):
Well, they would say every year of the teams make
the playoffs, like forty percent of them are new every year.
So every year there's a couple bottom feeders that are
playoff contenders and a couple teams that were in the
playoffs take a big step back. So hey, there's always
next year, is a Is that been your phrase for
a while though, yeah, for too long. There's always next time.
Speaker 4 (42:57):
I'm sick of the draft being my fan base is
super Bowl and Cove.
Speaker 3 (43:02):
I'm trying to think of there's anything I missed, but
I think we can move along the Chargers Cowboys. I
was close for a second, but the Chargers pulled away.
They're an interesting team, right because they're sitting there at
eleven and four, and I don't think anyone's really taking
them that seriously.
Speaker 5 (43:15):
No.
Speaker 1 (43:16):
I think the final observation is we got exactly what
we thought we'd get from the fight, and I found
it to be entertaining. If you expected more, I think
shame on you, because it was supposed to be a
spectacle yep. And the reason that you saw Jake Paul
running around is he had a six foot six Olympic
gold medal, two time heavyweight champion going after them. And eventually,
(43:41):
when Jake Paul gassed himself out from sticking and moving
and running and hitting Anthony, Joshua was able to land
like a beast and he was doing powerful bombs that
were getting to Jake Paul, and he eventually broke his jaw.
Speaker 2 (43:56):
In two places.
Speaker 1 (43:56):
So anyone that thinks is fake, I'd have to say, well,
what do you think about the X rays? But I
do think if there's any sort of wink wink, it's like, hey,
let's give the fans a show. Let's sort of spar
for three rounds and then hey, go at it and
do whatever you gotta do. And I think that's exactly
what happened. Anthony Joshua proved everybody that there's levels to this.
(44:17):
But as a result, we watched Jake Paul get his
face bashed. Everybody wanted to see that. You saw him
humbled a little bit. They both won. Anthony Joshua made
over ninety million, with Jake Paul made ninety two million dollars.
Speaker 2 (44:31):
And I thought it was fun. It brought people together.
Speaker 1 (44:33):
I was with Rich and Sam and friends, and I
had a good time. I wasn't expecting a masterful boxing
lesson from two you know, two former champions.
Speaker 2 (44:45):
I'll say Paul and it's Anthony Josha. I'll say this,
it was fun. I don't believe in the fix.
Speaker 3 (44:50):
If anything, maybe I believe in a gold medal heavyweight
champion like and Anthony Joshua. You know, sometimes in the jungle.
We made this analogy. A lion or tiger plays with
its food a little bit before it eats it. It's
possible maybe maybe toy with toy with Jake Paul a
little bit and then you really fully unleash.
Speaker 2 (45:09):
Got a great workout of it.
Speaker 1 (45:10):
I got a great sparring session, and I loved what
he said at the end of the fight where he's like,
if you're watching a basketball game, the other team's gonna score.
Speaker 2 (45:18):
But there's levels to this.
Speaker 1 (45:19):
So yeah, Jake, call me have landed a few punches,
but it's boxing. That's just what's bound to happen. So
did those punches affect Anthony Joshua anyway? And the answer
is no, But getting hit that's just part of it.
And Anthony Joshua did his thing, and maybe we get
a fury fight next, but look, they both won. They
both made a lot of money, and I thought it
was an entertaining night. I had a good time with it,
(45:41):
not hating, but we got exactly what we expected.
Speaker 2 (45:45):
Anthony Joshua was just at a different level.
Speaker 1 (45:47):
He's a He's a world class fighter who fought a
guy who's fought for what six years, And I won't
take away from the wave bols that Jake Paul wears
in this moment.
Speaker 2 (45:57):
I would not do that, So I give him props.
Speaker 4 (46:00):
To big Butte he's got plates and you know the
dental war, the teeth removed and screws in his mouth.
So now there's people speculating online whether or not this could,
you know, stop his boxing career from continuing.
Speaker 1 (46:16):
It'll stall it for for sure. I mean, he's not
the first boxer to get his jaw broken. You know,
in those places, I couldn't tell you. I saw the
X rays, I saw the metal places, metal plates. But
now he steps down to a weight that's more sufficed
to him, which is probably cruiser weight, and maybe he
could dominate. Like AJ said, he's got guts, he's got spirit.
(46:37):
You need those things. You can't train for those things.
He's got the ways to step in there. Now he
needs to work harder and get into a better weight class.
Speaker 2 (46:47):
I thought it was. It was thoroughly entertaining.
Speaker 3 (46:51):
It played out and rush, That's all I expected. It
played out exactly how many people predicted. In fact, I
put twenty bucks on a few rounds for a knockout,
twenty paid three forty on a six round knockout.
Speaker 2 (47:03):
I thought, uh, no, where are you at the mall?
Speaker 6 (47:06):
Earlier?
Speaker 3 (47:06):
We we we saw, like I said, Anthony Joshua.
Speaker 2 (47:11):
Maybe just feeling them out for a little while. But
at no point with it.
Speaker 3 (47:14):
It was Anthony Joshua hurt, sweating, winded or anything. And
you saw Jake Paul and even mentioned in the post
fight where you fight a guy that big, it takes
so much out of you cardio wise. It's interesting because
I had the old guys night at my house and
everyone seemed to really enjoy it. And there's Sam the
curmudgeon on the couch.
Speaker 2 (47:33):
And he's like, what was that? Sam? What was what
was Sam Hall?
Speaker 1 (47:36):
Because what was it wasn't like a it wasn't a
traditional boxing.
Speaker 13 (47:40):
You're right, that's how you should look at it, but
you weren't entertained. No, I was entertained Gladator style. I
listen it was. It was an entertaining thing to watch.
It was a spectacle from a boxing competitiveness standpoint, I
was looking at the wrong way because this is what
the five to six inch height difference, the reach, the weight.
Speaker 2 (48:00):
Uh.
Speaker 13 (48:00):
You know, Anthony Joshua is like a boxer, a professional,
and Jake Paul is like a YouTuber sort of under
you know, going on this like reality show mission is.
You're right, that's the way to look at But if.
Speaker 1 (48:12):
You want to see a real fight, real fights, matter.
Late January, Tiafimo Lopez versus Chakor Stevenson is going to
be a technical masterclass of Boxing's.
Speaker 2 (48:22):
Going to be a chess match. So what does that
come for boring other?
Speaker 1 (48:26):
Well, no, because if you really want to see some
good boxing, you're gonna see a master at defense and
tia Fimo a master of footwork. Trying to trying to
land in there sounds like a boring equation. Would you
when you say when you have a fight, how about
a fight that matters rich? Because this fight matters nothing.
Speaker 2 (48:44):
But it was fine. Will someone get their job broken?
Speaker 4 (48:47):
Maybe over the weekend? Did you, guys? I'm sure you
saw some of the memes and the jokes about will
YouTube have them back? And some of the low hanging
fruit that people were grabbing onto. Are those just haters
of all haters? Because because he did have to show
the heart of a lion to stand in there and
take those hits.
Speaker 3 (49:04):
Thought, I thought it was great. I thought everything about
it was entertaining. I think Anthony Joshua came out looking
like a real gentleman. And now he might have new
fans because it's like, oh, who is Anthony Joshua?
Speaker 2 (49:13):
Guy?
Speaker 3 (49:13):
The people that don't know boxing. I thought everything about
it was great. I thought, even from him walking in
wearing wholk Mania stuff, real American played for a second
like I didn't know what I.
Speaker 1 (49:24):
Saw that he could be years from now rubbing it
on our face, saying, hey, I foreshadowed it right there.
Speaker 2 (49:32):
Much like wrestling, this is all just entertainment. Pally fools,
go ahead with Tony Foods.
Speaker 14 (49:39):
Go yeah, as everybody knows onere of the hosts of
the award winning Polly and Tony foodsco Shop.
Speaker 1 (49:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 14 (49:44):
But instead of us telling you how great we are,
here's how Dan Patrick described us when he came on
our show.
Speaker 5 (49:49):
Quick, knowledgeable and funny, opinionated.
Speaker 2 (49:53):
What are you doing dirupting our promo?
Speaker 8 (49:55):
Yeah, he wasn't talking about you. You took those clubs
totally out of context.
Speaker 14 (50:00):
Oh yeah, well after this promo, I'm gonna take you
out and beat you.
Speaker 2 (50:04):
Let me put this into context. Shut up.
Speaker 14 (50:07):

Speaker 2 (57:08):
I just well, when you're throwing things out there.
Speaker 1 (57:10):
I know, but I'm saying there's no East team. They
played more than one. That's how rude you are with
the wrong answer when you.
Speaker 6 (57:14):
Were also no, let me go.

Speaker 9 (58:51):

Speaker 1 (58:55):

Speaker 10 (58:56):
McBride?
Speaker 9 (58:58):
Uh? On the list? Number six?
Speaker 6 (59:03):
Rich?
Speaker 2 (59:06):
Wait?
Speaker 1 (59:06):
That was number one on the list, number six, and

Speaker 9 (59:12):
The list very bottom right eight.
Speaker 1 (59:16):
Yeah, I was gonna say, I wonder, I wondered if
he's to cut off Low and Crawn, Lad McConkey.
Speaker 4 (59:23):
Uh, none on the list, Matt, I'm gonna go with uh.
Speaker 11 (59:33):
Maybe Garrett Wilson.
Speaker 9 (59:35):
Garrett Wilson not on the list.
Speaker 6 (59:37):
That means Rich wins that round.
Speaker 4 (59:39):
Yeah, and dude, the time constraints, we're gonna have to
come back. Oh yeah, we do our tie break on
the other sides, all right, So that means rich Low
and Krawn and Coveno are gonna battle it out perfect.
Speaker 2 (59:55):
Hey Pature playing Fargo.
Speaker 6 (59:57):
We appreciate you, Matt, thank you so much.
Speaker 1 (01:00:00):
Happy holidays, Man, Merry Christmas, and happy Tunicauna. Thank you
again for hanging. We have to continue the game, back
to Danny of Last one stand.
Speaker 4 (01:00:17):
It's going into overtime, just like the uh Chicago Green
Bay game.
Speaker 6 (01:00:22):
All right, here we go.
Speaker 4 (01:00:23):
Whoever comes closest, just buzz in with your name to go.
How many total receiving tds did Randy Moss score in
his fourteen seasons in the NFL it's regular season numbers.
How many total receiving touchdowns did Randy Moss score in
his fourteen seasons?
Speaker 6 (01:00:42):
Think about it for a sec.
Speaker 3 (01:00:44):
Right, write down your number, Comino, so I don't think
you just play off of my number.
Speaker 2 (01:00:49):
Trust like you've played in the past. Okay, I'll go first.
Speaker 6 (01:00:53):
You all right, birth brains.
Speaker 1 (01:00:57):
Well, I wrote down the numbers, so here you go
before you even said it.
Speaker 2 (01:01:00):
Okay, I got it right.
Speaker 1 (01:01:02):
Don't forget to drink your ovaltine, good one in all
the scribble right here, I'm sticking with my answer.
Speaker 2 (01:01:11):
Yeah, I forget where I wrote Rich is a nerd.
Speaker 6 (01:01:13):
Yeah right there, all right, low and low and Ville.
Speaker 8 (01:01:15):
I'm serious about this. I was going to guess one
thirty nine.
Speaker 2 (01:01:18):
Real, so.
Speaker 5 (01:01:20):
Nine one.
Speaker 2 (01:01:20):
I just gave it ten a year average. I give
it ten of year minus two. That's so funny.
Speaker 1 (01:01:24):
Yeah, because I know he had the most in a season,
but that can be every season.
Speaker 8 (01:01:28):
So there's no way I'm going to win unless it
is one thirty nine.
Speaker 4 (01:01:30):
Ah, the actual retail touchdown number one and fifty six.
Speaker 6 (01:01:36):
Coveno is the champion.
Speaker 9 (01:01:39):
I did it.
Speaker 2 (01:01:41):
I did it. Who do you think you want? That's right?
Speaker 4 (01:01:48):
Yeah, that is cons even though it sounds like its
fortieth victory, that's Coveno's twelfth win in this game.
Speaker 1 (01:01:55):
Yeah, dude, it's my week. Hey, you know what I
needed to win, man, that was due. So that's wait.
What a great way to start the holiday week man,
And now it's time.
Speaker 2 (01:02:04):
Thank you guys.
Speaker 1 (01:02:04):
By the way, more prizes, more games tomorrow, Iron Mike Trivia,
your chance to win a CNR on FSR nerve football
a great stocking stuffer, not as great as a severed foot,
but a great stocking stuffer for the holidays.
Speaker 2 (01:02:17):
Iron My Trivia tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (01:02:18):
That's one of my favorite Mitch Hedburg, the late great
Mitch Hedburg comedian. He said, you know what the best
stocking stuffer is, Well, probably the best thing is a
severed foot.
Speaker 2 (01:02:29):
Yes, you know, the best betting one.
Speaker 1 (01:02:32):
But tomorrow, more prizes, every day, more bribery to get
you here.
Speaker 2 (01:02:36):
But rich, you gotta give us your Monday night football pick.
Speaker 3 (01:02:38):
Well, hold on, speaking of severed feet, how about non
severed feet you talked about before Cam Little in warm ups?
Speaker 2 (01:02:45):
This guy's hitting seventy five yard field goals. No, no, no, no,
he missed the seventy five. He hit a seventy three. Yeah,
he made the seventy seventy three would have been.
Speaker 3 (01:02:53):
Good for like seventy eight exactly. So I gotta ask
you this, Oh, are we in practice just in case
you miss? Are we gonna have to change the field
goal ball? Are we gonna have to do something different?
Or are we gonna get to a point where listen, Danny,
you pointed this out on a kickoff, if it goes
through the end zone, they get it at the thirty
five with Cam Little, you need one first down in
(01:03:13):
your field goal range. One first down in your field
goal range. Yeah, I mean win plays a factor. We
saw that yesterday. Guarantee that you get one first down
and you stall out on third and five, you're at
midfield and all of a sudden, your your field goal
kickers and.
Speaker 2 (01:03:28):
Everyone's hitting seventy three yarders.
Speaker 4 (01:03:30):
Coveno just a decent return now and little would be
in field goal range.
Speaker 6 (01:03:34):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (01:03:35):
So yeah, I mean with today's foot and the new rules, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:03:39):
It's possible rich Man match he's doing. And it's so
funny because they all do the same thing.
Speaker 2 (01:03:45):
Did.
Speaker 3 (01:03:46):
He just has such like hip and leg moving like
how because he's not like some weird anomaly.
Speaker 1 (01:03:51):
It's like, look, he's a huge guy, like mechanically he
got thunderfoot.
Speaker 2 (01:03:56):
Vaandfoot bro thunderfoot.
Speaker 1 (01:03:58):
Hey, and by the way, don't be stalling because I
think there's a little chance you're like ultra confident in
your forty nine ers tonight, and I get it, but
I think there is a chance that Philip Rivers surprises
some people tonight. You know why because he just fell
short last week and he should have had that game.
Speaker 2 (01:04:15):
Do you take a happy holiday at a ball or what?
Speaker 10 (01:04:18):
No?
Speaker 1 (01:04:18):
No, no, Well, I take no pride in seeing your
team lose, but I'm saying that there is a chance
and you're really downplaying it, and I think that's when
people get caught.
Speaker 3 (01:04:26):
I am I'm not being overconfident and I'm not being
the guys like my team's awesome, because I know the
Niners have their deficiencies. They do look great, they do
hold their own path to the playoffs. They could be
the one seed if they win out. All I'll say
is this Indianapolis. The only advantage they have is there
at home. Other than that, if the forty nine ers
(01:04:46):
in a playoff run where they have a chance to
win out and possibly Week eighteen could be against the
Seahawks or a one seed.
Speaker 2 (01:04:52):
If you don't beat a forty.
Speaker 3 (01:04:53):
Four year old guy that hasn't went in five years,
you deserve nothing. So Niners cover the four and a
half or five and a half, whatever it is. Go Niners,
Monday Night football. I'm going home now to watch Happy Holidays.
Suckers are ever there to you, baby, see
Speaker 2 (01:05:05):
You in the Promised Land.
